Transcript
- 0:00All right, so we are going to quickly dive in today, the top 10 horror movies
- 0:04of all time, and I'm coming at it with an unbiased opinion just to give you
- 0:09my unvarnished reality and truth.
- 0:13So let's just dive into this quickly because I had to get this out there and
- 0:17on the record and I wanted to keep it short and sweet because there are so many
- 0:22different angles you can take at it when you look at horror movies,
- 0:25scary movies. This is my guilty pleasure.
- 0:28I love these things. I love watching them. I love reading them.
- 0:31And I mean, everybody's got something that they enjoy, that they like to go
- 0:36in, you know, something that just is different than the rest of their life.
- 0:41You know, everybody's got something, you know, you might find it in sports,
- 0:44you might find it in whatever, but we're going to quickly just dive into this
- 0:47because I had to set this straight, put this out there.
- 0:50My top 10, and I'm going to actually throw on there and I put in a link as the,
- 0:55this was from Rotten Tomatoes, the top 200 horror movies of all time,
- 1:00kind of just that is a conglomeration of a lot of different things,
- 1:04because this is so subjective, so this is from my point of view,
- 1:08and if you have any disagreements, or if you want to throw in your top 10.
- 1:12Phil, by all means, go for it, all right, so, number 10 for me,
- 1:17Halloween, that is, and I'm not going to go into every, each one of them,
- 1:21and explain it, you know, give a whole plot or everything like that,
- 1:23but I'm just going to give them to you. Number 10, Halloween.
- 1:26You know, the whole series, the whole saga, but the original,
- 1:29Halloween, 1978, Jamie Lee Curtis.
- 1:32All right, number nine, Children of the Corn, 1984, the very original version, the very first one.
- 1:39Number eight, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, 1974.
- 1:44My numbers got all twisted on here. I'm just read it from here.
- 1:47Number seven, The Barbarian.
- 1:50This is a recent movie that was very scary in a very different perspective.
- 1:55It had elements of comedy in it.
- 1:58I forget the guy's name who was on it. That's really funny, but he's on there.
- 2:02And I wish I had it in front of me, but I don't.
- 2:05But he was a hilarious guy. You should go check out The Barbarian.
- 2:08That's a very scary movie. Very new, actually.
- 2:11Number six, The Lost Boys. It is a staple of vampire movies.
- 2:17It is a staple of vampire movies. Kiefer Sutherland, who's in it.
- 2:21And there's a lot of other famous actors. It is an oldie, but it is a very good one.
- 2:25Number five, The Shining. This is tough. This is tough. This didn't make it
- 2:30further down the list for me.
- 2:31But nonetheless, it is crucial. It is critical when you think of horror movies,
- 2:38because I think of Jack Torrance every time he wants to, he's got to throw in some aspirin.
- 2:43I think in the book, it's actually Excedrin.
- 2:45They didn't touch on it in the movie, but in the book, it's Excedrin.
- 2:48He's like, boom, it's got his mouth, you know. it's just a, he's,
- 2:51he's an odd duck, but I think everybody can relate to the authors of Stephen King.
- 2:57Cause in his books, it's usually from Maine and it's usually an author and they're
- 3:01getting into something pretty much all of his books seem like that.
- 3:05But this guy had the element of author over a wannabe author,
- 3:08the shiny number five, number four, this is for, for the youngins,
- 3:12you know, maybe the millennial ish person.
- 3:15I know what you did last summer. I know what you did last summer.
- 3:20Okay. Number three, Silence of the Lambs. That is, that was a very,
- 3:25very scary one. It has the FBI.
- 3:28I made all the way to the FBI.
- 3:31Okay. So number two, this probably was when I grew up the scariest movie and
- 3:37it's not even rated R the scariest movie I'd ever seen.
- 3:41Freaked me out. And it also scared me. I watched it during the day as well.
- 3:46And it scared the heck out of me. the ring the
- 3:49ring number two the ring and then finally last
- 3:53but not least number one the top horror
- 3:56movie scary movie of all time unbiased
- 4:00brilliance number one is it everybody every kid out there you know if you're
- 4:06growing up you're about 30 40 ish you know getting up there you know you grew
- 4:09up with that traumatizing you as a child it the clowns clowns are never the same again.
- 4:17So that's my top 10. I give it to you.
- 4:20Unvarnished. It is subject to change, but as I'm sitting right now, there you have it.
- 4:26So that is my top 10. What is your top 10? And I had to just keep this short
- 4:32and sweet because there's so many different ways we can go into this.
- 4:35And I'm going to, you know, I'm going to talk about it more later on,
- 4:38but I wanted to actually just start the conversation. All right.
- 4:41My name is Brandon Fogle. We'll end it at that. Have a great day, folks.
