- 0:01It doesn't mean that the nation of Australia is racist, contrary
- 0:06to what the Australian Broadcasting Corporation would
- 0:09tell us, contrary to what people like Laura Tingle would tell us.
- 0:26OK, so when it was pleasing, especially I remember when I was
- 0:30in general duties, people had told me, people had known me for
- 0:33a long time, had told me that I was, I had my attitude towards
- 0:37some things that started to change.
- 0:40And when I was dealing with people outside of work, but
- 0:43dealing with other like family members in that I'd become a
- 0:46little, a little blunt with the way I would deal with
- 0:50situations, the way I would talk to people, you know, be talking
- 0:54to family. And it was just like, well, no,
- 0:57this is going to happen. No, it, it was very black and
- 1:00white for me. You know, things were, I treated
- 1:04things like everything was black and white.
- 1:06It was just, it was just a cut and dry.
- 1:10There was not a lot of middle ground, not a lot of wiggle
- 1:14room. And, and I remember reflecting
- 1:17on this a little bit, thinking, yeah, well, that's because you,
- 1:19you're faced with these situations and you're, you're
- 1:21constantly having to make decisions, just decisions in a
- 1:28very short amount of time. And a lot of these decisions,
- 1:31decisions are tended to affect people's lives, sometimes quite
- 1:37profoundly. So you had a lot of
- 1:39responsibility. So basically you would just,
- 1:42you'd fall into this mode while someone would tell you
- 1:44something, someone else to tell you something else and you just
- 1:47be like, bang, I'm down there, this is my decision.
- 1:50I'm on this side or I'm on that side or whatever.
- 1:53And I found that would come to decisions really kind of
- 1:58probably quickly, sometimes might be too quickly, I'm not
- 2:00sure. But like I said, it's very cut
- 2:02and dry, black and white. No, this is right, this is
- 2:06wrong. And that was how my attitude was
- 2:08going. And rightly or wrongly, I think
- 2:11it was a product of the work environment.
- 2:14For for instance, I I think I think this this example would
- 2:20makes sense. I think in that's I remember
- 2:24going to a job, general duties, I was up in far northern past
- 2:29Cairns working and remember going to a job probably really
- 2:34early hours of the morning being called to a job and people were
- 2:37fighting. Apparently we get to this place,
- 2:39there's some music going. I think it was around 2:00 in
- 2:43the morning. People were sitting around in
- 2:45like a circle. There was some music going.
- 2:49Everyone's just kind of sitting, just sitting city and just kind
- 2:53of staring as if you know nothing to see here.
- 2:56They're obviously did not want police least there you just
- 3:01ruining their fun. The problem is there's a woman
- 3:04just sitting there, not saying anything or do anything, just
- 3:07kind of sitting, staring. Her face is all busted up, like
- 3:13it was busted up. She had busted lips, her cheeks
- 3:16were busted. She was busted up and she had
- 3:20blood. There was, you know, just kind
- 3:22of dripping. She looked a mess, but she just
- 3:26sitting there. Nothing, nothing, nothing to see
- 3:29here, nothing to complain about it.
- 3:31There's nothing wrong. What the heck are you doing
- 3:34here? There's a guy sitting next to
- 3:36her. He's just sitting there staring
- 3:38into space. Just he's like, I think he said
- 3:40something like, oh, you know, there's nothing going on.
- 3:42Want to even here? It's got well, the lady next
- 3:47year has got her. Her face is extremely swollen
- 3:51and she looks like a mess. The blood dripping from her face
- 3:54onto the floor and the blood splattered all around the room
- 3:58suggests that something's gone on.
- 4:00Now, the other thing that was that drew my attention was the
- 4:05fact that his knuckles are a little bit busted up and you're
- 4:08sitting going, well, how did this happen?
- 4:10How did you get those injuries? Nothing fell over.
- 4:13Fell over. She fell over repeatedly onto
- 4:16his fist is what I think happened.
- 4:18There were other people in the room.
- 4:20Everyone's just like no, no one, No one wanted to tell us
- 4:23anything. No one wanted to tell us what
- 4:24had gone on. No one knew what had gone on.
- 4:27No one saw anything. No one heard anything.
- 4:30No one knew a thing. No one was saying a thing.
- 4:33So in the in the end, no one's giving us any statements,
- 4:37nothing's happened, no one to make a complaint.
- 4:41I think we just took the bloke away.
- 4:43OK, I can't remember anything else that happened.
- 4:45I remember we took him away. So he gets put into the back of
- 4:49the van. So.
- 4:51Oh, so if you do that, obviously you're, you're arresting him,
- 4:53you're detaining someone. But I can't remember the other
- 4:55details. I don't remember if we took him
- 4:57away. Um, The thing is, you know, we
- 5:00came, you come to this conclusion, even though no one
- 5:04said anything, no one's given a statement, no one's provided you
- 5:07with any proof. There's one woman with a busted
- 5:10up, bruised, bloodied face and then the guy next to her has got
- 5:14busted, bruised knuckles. You, you quickly come to the
- 5:18conclusion that maybe something has gone on and maybe the lady
- 5:22is in danger and maybe we should take the bloke away and you
- 5:27know, see what? See what else we can do, if
- 5:29anything, just just to make the place a little safer.
- 5:35So that's what's going on. You don't do these things
- 5:38because you're thinking about stereotypes of people.
- 5:41You don't do think these things because, you know, I wasn't
- 5:45doing it because I'm racist, because, you know, it's just
- 5:48this certain ethnicity. I look at people and think,
- 5:51well, this is the problem. They do this, they do this and
- 5:53of course they hit their women. Of course it's him because all
- 5:58those, all those men hit their women.
- 6:00All those women carry on like this.
- 6:02And it's nothing like that. You just looking at a bastard
- 6:06woman who's bleeding extremely bruised and beaten looking and
- 6:12you're looking at a bloke with there with her knuckles.
- 6:14So you come to a conclusion and show you take action and this is
- 6:17what happens. So I'm going to share this video
- 6:19and this is about Victorian police.
- 6:22I look at this this video and I'll give I'll I'll say more
- 6:26after the video, but I look at the Victorian police are faced
- 6:30with a problem. They faced with the problem,
- 6:33they have got extremely violent gangs getting around in Victoria
- 6:39at the moment. Now predominantly these gangs
- 6:42are Sudanese. That's just the facts.
- 6:45That's just the facts. That's just the facts.
- 6:47They, they come across these gangs, these gangs are
- 6:50committing crimes, are extremely violent crimes, robberies,
- 6:54stabbing people, stabbing each other, you know, they're
- 6:57extremely violent. Uh, and then Victorian police
- 7:02are faced with these facts and so they're trying to let the
- 7:07bureaucrats know, they're trying to let the, you know, all the,
- 7:10the left woke bureaucrats who have this ideology that, you
- 7:16know, everything just everyone should, just everyone is racist.
- 7:21You know, if you go and point at someone who isn't white and you
- 7:25say, hey, that person, they just committed a violent crime act.
- 7:28Well, you sure you're not just racist?
- 7:30This is the attitude have, this is the audiology they want to
- 7:33live with that everyone, everyone is racist except for
- 7:37the person with the dark skin. Everyone else, all the white
- 7:41people are racist. The, the, the people who are
- 7:45black, brown, Brindle, red, yellow, whatever, they're not
- 7:49racist. It's just the, it's just the
- 7:51nasty white man, the nasty police officer.
- 7:54If you're a police officer and you're black, well, doesn't
- 7:56matter, you're racist anyway. They don't want to look at
- 8:00facts, so Victorian Police have provided them with some facts on
- 8:07the ground facts and they haven't liked it.
- 8:09So check out this video of what's going on.
- 8:14Staff members at Victoria's Department of Justice say they
- 8:18sat through a presentation by police that was racist,
- 8:22inappropriate and gratuitously used graphic vision, including
- 8:27of a murder. Police apologised but denied the
- 8:30racism allegation, according to documents obtained by the ABC
- 8:35under Freedom of Information laws.
- 8:37The session, held last year, was pitched as a really impactful
- 8:41look at the youth gang landscape in the state.
- 8:45But just over an hour after it ended, the complaint started.
- 8:49One attendee sent an email saying the final presentation of
- 8:52the day was very racist. The response came quickly.
- 8:57The department was already collecting staff concerns.
- 9:01Staff complained about graphic footage of serious assaults and
- 9:06murders, primarily within the South Sudanese community, which
- 9:10was described as gratuitous and used to shock.
- 9:14They said the focus was solely on African gangs.
- 9:18Commentary by the presenter was described as flippant and racist
- 9:23in several points. Attendees were said to be
- 9:26extremely affected and disturbed and claimed earlier warnings
- 9:31about violent content didn't go far enough, with one saying, To
- 9:35put it bluntly, police should have said we're about to show
- 9:39you someone gets stabbed to death.
- 9:42The secretary of the Justice Department called the then
- 9:45acting chief of police and sent a formal letter.
- 9:48It raised the concerns, including claims the presenter
- 9:52used the N word, referred to a child as an offender for life
- 9:57and made comments about sending people home in relation to visa
- 10:01cancellations. The head of Victoria's S
- 10:05Sudanese Community Association couldn't comment on the
- 10:09presentation, but did say. I've gotta stop and comment.
- 10:13Listen, I love the way they've just taken out little snippets
- 10:17of what they this is what they've heard.
- 10:18They heard racist commentary. Police are talking about people,
- 10:25youth gangs who are predominantly Sudanese from the
- 10:28Sudanese committee and all these people see is least being
- 10:34racist. Police are racist because
- 10:36they're picking on, they're picking on Sudanese.
- 10:39Ohhh. Now police are talking about how
- 10:42offenders possibly being sent home.
- 10:45I mean, we, we talked about that all the time when I was in QPS.
- 10:48You'd be talking about because you, you realise that, OK, if
- 10:50these people get caught, if it's if these offenders, because
- 10:55they've committed this crime, they are going to be sent home.
- 10:58It was just a fact that you spoke about.
- 11:00It's not that you're sitting there planning you.
- 11:02You don't make these people commit the crimes that that
- 11:06causes them to get sent back to the country they came from.
- 11:10They commit the crime all by themselves.
- 11:13Funnily enough, you don't, you don't help them along the way.
- 11:16They commit the crime. And the rules are that if you
- 11:19commit certain crimes, you're going to be sent home.
- 11:23Like I said, you're, you're, it seems like the police, Victorian
- 11:27police, are just presenting these people with the facts.
- 11:31But the problem is it doesn't suit their own woke ideology.
- 11:38I know they want to believe that there is no way the Sudanese
- 11:42community, there's no way these young children are doing
- 11:46anything wrong. It's the police's fault.
- 11:48It's the white man's fault. You know, it's everyone else.
- 11:51They're all racist because you're pointing out the problems
- 11:55within Sudanese community. You're pointing out the problems
- 11:58that there's these gangs running around and lo and behold, it's
- 12:03Sudanese gangs. Now, as I tell you, when when
- 12:06you're in the police, you're not sitting there thinking, oh, wish
- 12:09every gang was sued knees. No, you just sitting there
- 12:13going, well, I just go through the gangs.
- 12:15These are the games that are causing the problems are low and
- 12:18behold, it's Sudanese right at the moment.
- 12:20Now there's previous generations where different ethnicities
- 12:24cause problems and they're having gangs getting around.
- 12:28The police is not responsible for the ethnicity of the games.
- 12:31For crying out loud. That doesn't make you racist
- 12:33because you're pointing out because you're showing gangs and
- 12:37they happen to all be rated, they happen to all be Sudanese.
- 12:40That doesn't mean you're racist. That means that the Sudanese
- 12:44community has a problem with their young children.
- 12:48That's what it means. That means that the parents that
- 12:50come here and bring the young children, they're not being
- 12:53parents. They're allowing their children
- 12:56to just run amok in another country.
- 12:58They're not respecting the country.
- 13:00They're not respecting the culture.
- 13:02They're just doing what they want and they're allowed to do
- 13:05what they want because they have these woke ideologies who are
- 13:10who won't Ideologists who are telling that everyone else is
- 13:16racist and you're not the problem.
- 13:18You're a good person purely because you've got black skin,
- 13:22purely because you're from another country will then you
- 13:25must be perfect person. Everyone else is the problem.
- 13:29Don't take responsibility. It's everyone else's problem.
- 13:34I'll just look, there's nothing much more to say.
- 13:36They, these people complained, complained about everything.
- 13:40You know, they were confronted at the end of the day, they were
- 13:43confronted with the truth and they didn't like it because it
- 13:47didn't fit their ideology. Getting into the story that I
- 13:51had about, you know, the intoxicated couple who was
- 13:56sitting there, I was confronted with certain facts.
- 14:01Now I, I don't want, I didn't want to jump to conclusions for
- 14:07the fact, but at the end of it all, one person sitting there
- 14:12battered, bruised and obviously has obviously been beaten being
- 14:18hit. Obviously the person next to her
- 14:22is the only one in the whole group who's got busted up.
- 14:25Knuckles just happens to be her partner.
- 14:30Not much of A partner, but just happens to be her boyfriend and
- 14:34he's got busted up. Knuckles, what are you supposed
- 14:36to do? You're faced with certain facts
- 14:39ohe and no one, no one wants to tell you what's happening.
- 14:42You're faced with certain facts and you have to act on those
- 14:45facts. You have to make decisions.
- 14:47Victorian police are faced with the facts that the gangs that
- 14:52are getting around committing extremely violent crimes right
- 14:55now are Sudanese. That is the fact that are they,
- 15:00they are the facts. These teenagers are getting
- 15:02around because they don't have they don't have adult
- 15:05supervision. I didn't have parents who are
- 15:09behaving like parents. And this is the problem when we
- 15:12just allow people in and we don't we don't vet them
- 15:16properly. We just.
- 15:18Oh, yeah, you're just coming from this group.
- 15:19You're over here. You tell us you're in trouble,
- 15:21we'll just allow you in. Yep.
- 15:22It's all good. Do you know how to be a parent?
- 15:24Do you know how to discipline your children?
- 15:26Do you have any kind of thought process about how you're going
- 15:30to raise your children? How do you raise your children?
- 15:33Can you show us how you raise your children?
- 15:35Do you discipline your children? What are the what?
- 15:38What are the ideologies that you live by?
- 15:40What are the ethics that you live your life by?
- 15:43What is your moral compass? Where does your moral compass
- 15:46come from? The people who are making these
- 15:50complaints about Victorian police were faced, they are
- 15:53faced with the cold, hard facts of what's going on.
- 15:57That just because you're white or just because you're a police
- 16:00officer doesn't mean that you are racist.
- 16:03And just because you don't have white skin doesn't mean that you
- 16:08are automatically a good person. Just because you're an immigrant
- 16:13from Sudan does not mean you're a nice person, doesn't mean that
- 16:18you get to just skate on by and allowed a free pass on
- 16:22everything that you do and you can just do whatever the flip
- 16:25you want in someone else's country.
- 16:27It doesn't mean that you shouldn't be sent home.
- 16:30It doesn't mean that you should have just come here in the first
- 16:33place. It doesn't mean that if you
- 16:35cannot prove that you are of good standing and you want to
- 16:39actually contribute to this community, that you should
- 16:42actually be allowed to stay here.
- 16:45And it doesn't mean that we're racist.
- 16:49The nation of Australia is racist because we wanna stand up
- 16:53and we don't want, we want to stand up for our country and we
- 16:56don't want people living in this country if all they're going to
- 16:59do is get around in gangs and cause terror and intimidate the
- 17:04people in one of our states. It doesn't mean that the nation
- 17:09of Australia is racist. Contrary to what the Australian
- 17:14Broadcasting Corporation would tell us, contrary to what people
- 17:17like Laura Tingle would tell us, that Australia, Australians are
- 17:23just racist. We're just racist.
- 17:27Anyway, just want to give you a bit of my perspective.
- 17:31Why police make certain decisions while we come draw to
- 17:35some conclusions and and maybe, maybe we don't do things, maybe
- 17:40please don't do things because they're racist all the time.
- 17:43Maybe Australia as a whole isn't racist, isn't just a wholesale
- 17:50racist country racist group of people.
- 17:55That's just my opinion, I'm Jay Fellow, let me know what you
- 17:58think. Thanks for listening to the
- 18:00Slippery Slope. They will take
