- 3:37Speaker 3: Good morning and welcome to the show.
- 3:40Speaker 8: Good morning, and you have with.
- 3:43Speaker 3: You on the airwaves this morning. I've got to our
- 3:45Speaker 3: good friend Amy, who's going to be setting in with
- 3:47Speaker 3: me today. I think you've done this segment with Angie before,
- 3:50Speaker 3: have you? Haven't you have?
- 3:51Speaker 9: Yes?
- 3:51Speaker 3: All right, so Amy, Angie, Angie.
- 3:53Speaker 10: Amy Hello again?
- 3:55Speaker 6: Hello Hello.
- 3:56Speaker 3: Picture posted as always Dave Allen Radio and Facebook at
- 3:59Speaker 3: Dave A seventy On a the WHS Network Facebook page,
- 4:02Speaker 3: Angie tell us about the dog named Stripe.
- 4:06Speaker 11: So Stripe originally was found as a straight dog. They
- 4:11Speaker 11: the finders, brought him to Kseyha to hope to find
- 4:14Speaker 11: him a more permanent solution for a you know, forever home.
- 4:19Speaker 11: He's under a year old. He's like, you know, ten
- 4:22Speaker 11: months to a year old. Not newted yet, but he
- 4:26Speaker 11: will be before he leaves the building. And he is
- 4:28Speaker 11: another golden ticket dog, as I like to say. He's
- 4:31Speaker 11: good with cats, kids and other dogs.
- 4:34Speaker 3: He's a beautiful dog. And I was again the pictures posted,
- 4:38Speaker 3: and I said to Amy earlier when I sent her
- 4:41Speaker 3: the picture that you sent me, I said, this dog
- 4:44Speaker 3: looks like every dog in a nineteen thirties movie.
- 4:48Speaker 11: Literally yeah. And he's got that like kind of crazy
- 4:53Speaker 11: BedHead type of look too cute, get.
- 4:56Speaker 6: A little beard. Is adorable.
- 5:00Speaker 3: He's a good looking dog. And again his pictures posted
- 5:02Speaker 3: at Dave Allen Radio and Facebook, the Wcnchest network facebook
- 5:05Speaker 3: page and at Dave eight seventy on X. We'll get
- 5:08Speaker 3: back to Stripe a little bit later on. Understand you
- 5:10Speaker 3: folks are going to be out at Optimum and South
- 5:12Speaker 3: Ridge tomorrow. Good friends with WWKTV thirteen leave helping out
- 5:16Speaker 3: with that. Talk about that event tomorrow.
- 5:18Speaker 11: Uh, yes, So we are going to be at the
- 5:20Speaker 11: Optimum in South Ridge with some adoptable pets tomorrow the
- 5:23Speaker 11: event last I was updated, is going to be taking
- 5:26Speaker 11: place inside the store, so you know, nice and air
- 5:29Speaker 11: conditioned and the safe from the elements of the crazy
- 5:32Speaker 11: weather we've been having. But Optimum is going to be
- 5:35Speaker 11: sponsoring some adoption es in order to help get the
- 5:37Speaker 11: pets a leg up. No pun intended on finding forever home,
- 5:42Speaker 11: so we're super excited about that. And we also have
- 5:45Speaker 11: an event to celebrate National Rescue Pet Month at Tractor
- 5:48Speaker 11: Supply and Bell during the same time. Twelve ins a
- 5:53Speaker 11: little earlier at Tractor Supply ends.
- 5:55Speaker 3: At two and these events and now that And I
- 5:59Speaker 3: ask you this every week, Angie, when we have you on,
- 6:01Speaker 3: I'll always say where you guys are going to be
- 6:03Speaker 3: And I know you've got ten thousand things going on
- 6:04Speaker 3: the shelter. But now that the nicer weathers here, I
- 6:06Speaker 3: know you guys are going to be out a little
- 6:09Speaker 3: bit more. And it's it's good. It means a lot
- 6:11Speaker 3: to get out in the community.
- 6:12Speaker 11: It absolutely does. Not only do we get to, you know,
- 6:15Speaker 11: build those bridges with our community, bring pets to the community.
- 6:19Speaker 11: If you can't make it to the shelter, no worries,
- 6:20Speaker 11: we will bring it. The shelter to you. But not
- 6:23Speaker 11: only that. If we have an event we had one
- 6:26Speaker 11: recently where nothing got adopted, the people that hosted us
- 6:29Speaker 11: were very discouraged. But it still makes a big difference
- 6:32Speaker 11: for the animals that get to go to these events.
- 6:34Speaker 11: It gets them a day out of the shelter. They
- 6:37Speaker 11: get to you know, be a build you know that
- 6:40Speaker 11: relationship with like people in the public. They get to
- 6:43Speaker 11: relax and not be in a kennel for a day.
- 6:45Speaker 11: So regardless of if anyone gets adopted or actually leaves,
- 6:49Speaker 11: it's still it's still very, very beneficial for these animals.
- 6:53Speaker 6: Yes, is there a chance to like adopt a buddy
- 6:57Speaker 6: for a day where you can take him and play
- 7:01Speaker 6: or her play and then bring him back.
- 7:05Speaker 11: Yeah. Absolutely, that is one of our very popular volunteer programs.
- 7:10Speaker 11: So you can come up to the shelter, you can
- 7:12Speaker 11: choose a buddy, we can send a buddy with you,
- 7:15Speaker 11: and you quite literally can borrow or check out the
- 7:18Speaker 11: dog for the day. We don't do this program with
- 7:21Speaker 11: our cats, they tend to get a little stress, but dogs, puppies,
- 7:24Speaker 11: we love this program for them to get out, get
- 7:27Speaker 11: away from the shelter and then at the end of
- 7:29Speaker 11: the day, you just bring them back.
- 7:31Speaker 6: I love that.
- 7:32Speaker 3: And the need for fosters is always there too, And
- 7:36Speaker 3: I bring this up a lot. I've got a really
- 7:38Speaker 3: good buddy mine. He and his wife do this on
- 7:40Speaker 3: a regular basis, And you need fosters just to take
- 7:43Speaker 3: these critters into their home for just a short amount
- 7:46Speaker 3: of time.
- 7:47Speaker 11: Yeah, there are different, many different types of fostering you
- 7:50Speaker 11: can do. There's long term, there is short term, and
- 7:52Speaker 11: there's also just overnight fosters where you quite literally keep
- 7:56Speaker 11: them for a night and bring them back. But any
- 7:58Speaker 11: type of fostering trust is going to make the difference
- 8:01Speaker 11: for number one us as kseyha staff. And also finding
- 8:05Speaker 11: out how these animals are in a whole environment proven
- 8:10Speaker 11: to boost their ability to be adopted.
- 8:13Speaker 6: So perfect, give me all the dogs.
- 8:18Speaker 3: Hey, careful what you sign up for there? You know
- 8:20Speaker 3: what you mentioned there. We had a text here, Angie said,
- 8:23Speaker 3: when you're out and about I guess that this is
- 8:24Speaker 3: probably the event at optimum. Will it just be dogs
- 8:28Speaker 3: or are you going to bring some of the cats
- 8:29Speaker 3: out there to enjoy the fresh air since they really
- 8:31Speaker 3: never get a chance to get out that often.
- 8:34Speaker 11: So our adult cats typically did not travel well at
- 8:37Speaker 11: these types of events, it actually ends up stressing them
- 8:40Speaker 11: out further than if they were to just stay at
- 8:42Speaker 11: the shelter. So adult cats typically don't join in on
- 8:46Speaker 11: these type of events. Kittens, if we have them, they
- 8:49Speaker 11: get adopted so quickly at the shelter. Kittens I will
- 8:52Speaker 11: always bring because as you all know, I'm a cat
- 8:54Speaker 11: lady myself, so if we have kittens, they will definitely
- 8:57Speaker 11: be joining us.
- 8:58Speaker 3: Well, and I understand what you mean by that, because
- 9:00Speaker 3: you know, I've had dogs in the past, and you know, many,
- 9:03Speaker 3: not all dogs, but many dogs are like, hey, when
- 9:05Speaker 3: do we leave, you know, let's go. But cats, and
- 9:08Speaker 3: I think a lot of it has to do with
- 9:09Speaker 3: the fact that cats don't travel that often. In my case,
- 9:11Speaker 3: my cats never leave the house. So they're kind of like, Okay,
- 9:15Speaker 3: we're getting in the car. That means we're going to
- 9:16Speaker 3: the vet.
- 9:18Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, you see the cage coming in their language.
- 9:21Speaker 3: Yeah no, no, no, Well know one of our cats if
- 9:23Speaker 3: the cage is out, which we don't leave it out
- 9:25Speaker 3: on a normal basis, but like when we come back
- 9:28Speaker 3: or we're going to be taking one, which isn't that
- 9:30Speaker 3: often to the vet, we leave the cage out. One
- 9:32Speaker 3: of the cats just crawls in and lays down. But
- 9:34Speaker 3: then when we get ready to shut the door, that's
- 9:36Speaker 3: when it is another situation. When that door shuts, then
- 9:40Speaker 3: that door. What are your current needs up there?
- 9:43Speaker 12: What do you need?
- 9:43Speaker 3: It's far other than people to adopt pets. We know
- 9:45Speaker 3: that that's a given because no, your numbers are really high.
- 9:48Speaker 3: But what what are you in need of from the folks?
- 9:49Speaker 3: What can they help out with?
- 9:51Speaker 11: So any type of cleaning supplies, bleach gloves, paper towels,
- 9:55Speaker 11: anything of that nature. And then any type of Purina
- 9:58Speaker 11: chowp dry food product, any brand of wet food product
- 10:03Speaker 11: for cats or dogs.
- 10:04Speaker 6: Any blankets.
- 10:06Speaker 11: Right now, we are comfortable with the amount of blankets
- 10:09Speaker 11: we have, but we will always accept donated blankets because
- 10:12Speaker 11: that can change here an instant. So we will always
- 10:15Speaker 11: accept gently used linens.
- 10:18Speaker 3: Another text here, will you have a truck or someone
- 10:20Speaker 3: there to take donations while you're out at about tomorrow?
- 10:24Speaker 11: Yes, I's at both locations tomorrow. There will be a
- 10:27Speaker 11: staff member. I'll be at the optimum event and then
- 10:30Speaker 11: one of our adoptions counselors, Addie will be at the
- 10:32Speaker 11: tractor supply event. Both of us can accept donations. We
- 10:37Speaker 11: can do card cash check however you want to donate.
- 10:40Speaker 3: All right, Again, they're going to be and what are
- 10:43Speaker 3: the hours at the place in Bell tomorrow? And what's
- 10:46Speaker 3: the place again, tractor.
- 10:48Speaker 11: Supply in Bell? The hours there are going to be
- 10:51Speaker 11: twelve to two. Optimum Southbridge the hours are going to
- 10:54Speaker 11: be twelve to four.
- 10:55Speaker 3: All right, And again Angie, it's always a pleasure to
- 10:58Speaker 3: have you on the show. And we'll talk to you
- 10:59Speaker 3: again next week. Thanks a lot.
- 11:01Speaker 11: Absolutely sounds great. Have a good weekend and.
- 11:03Speaker 3: G Gillawater Canal Charles new main association with Stripe. This
- 11:06Speaker 3: week's adopt me please put her the week picture posted
- 11:08Speaker 3: Dave Aland Radio and Facebook, also the WCCHS Network Facebook
- 11:12Speaker 3: page and at dave a seventy on x Amy. Stripe
- 11:16Speaker 3: is around a year old, good with kids, good with
- 11:19Speaker 3: cats and with other dogs. She calls it a golden
- 11:22Speaker 3: ticket dog. So I mean, what more could you want?
- 11:25Speaker 3: With with the with the trifecta.
- 11:26Speaker 6: There, adorable and just the perfect size.
- 11:29Speaker 3: Yeah, and looks like every every every dog in a
- 11:34Speaker 3: nineteen thirties movie totally does. I can't, I can't. I
- 11:37Speaker 3: what I came up with is like I can't get
- 11:39Speaker 3: that out of my head right now. So let's try
- 11:41Speaker 3: to get Stripe adopted again. About a year old, perfect
- 11:44Speaker 3: with cats, perfect with other dogs, perfect with kids. Just
- 11:47Speaker 3: a good looking, scruffy little dog, as Amy says, got
- 11:49Speaker 3: a little bit of a beard on him, So go

- 15:57Speaker 3: our parking lot here to eleven eleven Virginia Street in
- 15:59Speaker 3: downtown charle since seven am til six pm. Amy Breedlove
- 16:03Speaker 3: is I'm probably gon going to bring back the name
- 16:04Speaker 3: Amy Rain. Okay, uh, you know, I'm just I like that.
- 16:08Speaker 3: It's where did you come up when you were working here?
- 16:10Speaker 3: Where did you come up with the name Amy Rain?
- 16:11Speaker 3: Or did somebody come up with it for you?
- 16:13Speaker 6: I came up with it. Rick Johnson actually said pick
- 16:16Speaker 6: a name that you really like, and I'm like, hmmm,
- 16:18Speaker 6: I love Rain. I just love Rain.
- 16:19Speaker 3: I got to hang out with Rick earlier this week.
- 16:21Speaker 3: Oh yeah, the best he is R J's the man.
- 16:24Speaker 6: Yes, uh so, I just I'm like, what about Amy Rain?
- 16:28Speaker 3: Kind of flows, right, Amy Rain? Amy Rain is back,
- 16:31Speaker 3: So you are officially Amy Rain. Okay, all right, Jim,
- 16:34Speaker 3: Jim Strawn who goes by the name Jim Strawn.
- 16:38Speaker 2: You can call me James William Dave. It's good to
- 16:39Speaker 2: see you yet not really, Amy. It's great to see you.
- 16:42Speaker 2: How are you, Yeah, Dave?
- 16:44Speaker 10: How are you doing over there?
- 16:44Speaker 7: Body?
- 16:45Speaker 3: Oh, I'm fine.
- 16:46Speaker 10: You look great.
- 16:46Speaker 2: I mean, I'm just pushing buttons and Amy Rain is
- 16:49Speaker 2: in the house. I'm so tickled. I mean, it's good
- 16:51Speaker 2: to see you. But Amy Rain is here.
- 16:52Speaker 3: Amy Rain is here, world renowned voiceover and star, great stage.
- 16:57Speaker 3: We go way back too, all right.
- 16:58Speaker 2: I mentioned earlier, you know she was here, but then
- 17:00Speaker 2: she was parts unknown other stations and we did a
- 17:03Speaker 2: lot of production together. What yesteryear? That was yester year.
- 17:07Speaker 2: That was yesteryear decades ago. You know, she looks still
- 17:10Speaker 2: twenty nine. I've gotten elderly and the older and here
- 17:14Speaker 2: we are together.
- 17:15Speaker 6: Jim's the world traveler.
- 17:16Speaker 2: Now, yeah, the World Traveler. We'll talk about that another time.
- 17:19Speaker 2: Live golf is so much fun, but I'm not here
- 17:22Speaker 2: to talk about Live. I'm here to talk about Live Live.
- 17:26Speaker 2: I see what you did the season twenty two, week
- 17:29Speaker 2: number two of the Moses Outer Group Live on the Levee.
- 17:32Speaker 2: You guys have been talking about it. Most folks are
- 17:35Speaker 2: talking about it. We're all ready to get outside into
- 17:38Speaker 2: this picture perfect idyllic weather tonight with low humidity about
- 17:43Speaker 2: eighty degrees. The sun will be out. I think that
- 17:45Speaker 2: sky is going to be amazingly blue, the breeze off
- 17:49Speaker 2: of the Great Kanawa. And then you mix in the
- 17:52Speaker 2: food and the spirited beverages, and then all of a sudden,
- 17:56Speaker 2: a party breaks out on the Showme Bomb stage and
- 17:59Speaker 2: its float like a butterfly. At six thirty six piece
- 18:03Speaker 2: band out of Denver, Colorado, and they blend a lot
- 18:08Speaker 2: of kind of rock and reggae and funk and soul,
- 18:13Speaker 2: and there they have a lot of horns as well.
- 18:15Speaker 2: The stage night's going to be full of horns and
- 18:18Speaker 2: they're going to play for an hour or take a
- 18:20Speaker 2: little break. Thank our sponsors. Let you get a bite
- 18:22Speaker 2: to eat and a beverage of your choice, and then
- 18:25Speaker 2: at eight o'clock it's fun to say. It's fun to say,
- 18:28Speaker 2: Dave the Rumble with Big Chief Joseph Boudreau Junior and
- 18:34Speaker 2: he is, and I'm going to read it so I
- 18:36Speaker 2: don't miss it out. I'm putting my glasses on Chief,
- 18:39Speaker 2: and I just lost it. I just like that, You
- 18:42Speaker 2: just lose it, just like that.
- 18:44Speaker 3: I can't go wrong with Jim, you know what. They
- 18:47Speaker 3: make fun of me in this company, But you can't
- 18:50Speaker 3: go wrong with paper.
- 18:52Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, paper, write this down. A Chief Boo Dreau
- 19:01Speaker 2: Junior is a renowned musician and leader of the black
- 19:04Speaker 2: Masking Indian community in New Orleans. He really blends the
- 19:08Speaker 2: old school Indian New Orleans town with the new age
- 19:11Speaker 2: and even some futuristic things. And he dresses like an
- 19:14Speaker 2: Indian chief. So it's big boas and big feathers, and
- 19:19Speaker 2: he's going to be on that stage tonight and he's
- 19:21Speaker 2: got all his band members around him, and it just
- 19:24Speaker 2: sounds so New Orleans and so Indians. And Mamie we
- 19:26Speaker 2: were talking off air of the drums will be like
- 19:28Speaker 2: a little a drum circle and it's going to be
- 19:31Speaker 2: a spectacular show. The music will be great, and again
- 19:34Speaker 2: the weather. So I think, you know, I keep track
- 19:37Speaker 2: of big big nights down there, and I you know,
- 19:39Speaker 2: and I don't use the word epic often, and I'm
- 19:42Speaker 2: not saying this is going to be epic. I'm just
- 19:45Speaker 2: saying it has all the elements and the stars are aligned.
- 19:48Speaker 2: We're all ready to get outside. You know you mentioned
- 19:50Speaker 2: last week we couldn't get outside. We went inside edition
- 19:53Speaker 2: and and we're grateful for the Convention Center and the
- 19:56Speaker 2: city turned on a dime and we did that and
- 19:59Speaker 2: Alana was great and Adam Parker was great. It was
- 20:02Speaker 2: just indoors and it's just it's fine, and that's what
- 20:05Speaker 2: it is. But this Live and Levee is meant to be.
- 20:07Speaker 2: It had Edarver Front Park outside, and tonight has all
- 20:11Speaker 2: the elements for a big, big, big fun night as
- 20:14Speaker 2: we all come down and celebrate Charleston what we have
- 20:17Speaker 2: to offer. And I know you're going to talk to
- 20:18Speaker 2: Zach in a minute. This is also a festival evening,
- 20:21Speaker 2: so they're going to be down. This is in Couhertz
- 20:24Speaker 2: and in collaboration with Fest of All. So not only
- 20:28Speaker 2: do you know we have Festival and the Levee and Moses,
- 20:31Speaker 2: but it's just takes such a village to put this
- 20:33Speaker 2: thing together. We had another record year with sponsorships and
- 20:37Speaker 2: partners I just want to thank a few some of
- 20:40Speaker 2: the majors. Brewer and Company been with us all twenty
- 20:42Speaker 2: two years. The only company that's done that, Moses has
- 20:45Speaker 2: been around for nineteen now. Paradign Corporation, Canarlestone, Lou Wendell Marine,
- 20:50Speaker 2: my good friend Mike and his dad, Lou, the health
- 20:52Speaker 2: plan back again, knew this year, loved Ones out of
- 20:56Speaker 2: South Charleston, Poka Valley, and my company's proud to so
- 21:00Speaker 2: for this as well. But folks, honestly, truthfully, if you
- 21:04Speaker 2: have an opportunity to make it tonight, I would come down.
- 21:08Speaker 2: My mother eighty nine in September is going to walk
- 21:11Speaker 2: down tonight. This is the perfect weather. She can sit
- 21:14Speaker 2: it far enough away where sometimes the music doesn't bother her,
- 21:17Speaker 2: and she comes down.
- 21:18Speaker 10: As I like to tell people, Amy, and you'll appreciate this.
- 21:21Speaker 10: My mom comes down to hear me talk. She will
- 21:24Speaker 10: stop to hear you talk.
- 21:26Speaker 7: Fright.
- 21:26Speaker 2: We love moms, don't we Yes, So if my mom
- 21:29Speaker 2: can make it down, you can make it down as well.
- 21:32Speaker 2: The rumble, Big Chief Joseph Boudreau Junior at a float
- 21:37Speaker 2: like a butterfly at six thirty.
- 21:40Speaker 10: Great fun. You want me to stop anytime.
- 21:43Speaker 2: May you just keep going on great fun for a
- 21:46Speaker 2: great cause. That's been our tagline for twenty two years.
- 21:48Speaker 2: We help those five Inner City of Charleston charities, help
- 21:53Speaker 2: people maybe get a bite to eat in a place
- 21:55Speaker 2: to lay their head at night. We help RCCR, Kate
- 21:58Speaker 2: VC the Sojier in her shelter of the YW the
- 22:01Speaker 2: Covenant House, and tonight the charity is going to be
- 22:05Speaker 2: man a Meal, we do a fifty to fifty drawing.
- 22:08Speaker 2: We'll do that drawing at nine thirty. The schedule is
- 22:10Speaker 2: a little different because the Rumble was going to play
- 22:12Speaker 2: from eight to nine thirty, and then we'll do the drawing.
- 22:15Speaker 2: The previous twenty one seasons with Live on the Levee,
- 22:18Speaker 2: we have raised because you guys are so kind and
- 22:20Speaker 2: so generous with your fifty to fifty donations to get
- 22:24Speaker 2: that fifty to fifty ticket, we have raised approximately one
- 22:28Speaker 2: hundred and thirty thousand dollars for these charities and I
- 22:31Speaker 2: couldn't be more proud of that and thank this community
- 22:34Speaker 2: as always for their kindness and generosity, and they always
- 22:38Speaker 2: step up.
- 22:39Speaker 3: So all the elements are there. Dave, what did I
- 22:42Speaker 3: leave out? I don't think you left out anything. It's
- 22:44Speaker 3: going to be a great summer. I'm kind of getting
- 22:46Speaker 3: back more to the original format we are.
- 22:49Speaker 2: And it's going to be thank you, thank you for noticing.
- 22:52Speaker 2: But we are going to be there every Friday. They're
- 22:55Speaker 2: not a Thursday night, which we tried last year. We
- 22:58Speaker 2: tried to do some claud operations that maybe, oh gosh,
- 23:02Speaker 2: I don't know if we thought that was gonna be
- 23:03Speaker 2: a good idea. But where every Friday, uh, except for
- 23:08Speaker 2: the regatta, but there's a there's there's a show on
- 23:10Speaker 2: Friday night during the regatta as well, but every Friday
- 23:13Speaker 2: all the way through July the thirty first, So that'll
- 23:16Speaker 2: be eleven straight Fridays.
- 23:17Speaker 10: We'll start the music at six thirty.
- 23:19Speaker 2: It's gonna be a fan fabulous summer if we can
- 23:22Speaker 2: get a weather like tonight for the next twelve for
- 23:26Speaker 2: I'll just kiss Ran right on the right on the forehead.
- 23:29Speaker 10: I just like Brian, I love you man, you're the best.
- 23:31Speaker 2: But the music and it's gonna be great, but the
- 23:33Speaker 2: weather's gonna be off the hook tonight, I think.
- 23:35Speaker 3: And Amy, I don't know whether you saw the entire lineup.
- 23:37Speaker 3: I know you and your husband just got into town.
- 23:39Speaker 3: I don't know, not long ago't know if you saw
- 23:41Speaker 3: the entire lineup, but going back to our college years, doctor,
- 23:44Speaker 3: the spin Doctors are going to be doctors are coming. Yeah.
- 23:47Speaker 2: I try to reserve talking about the bands until it
- 23:50Speaker 2: gets there, but the Spendersoders are going to be great.
- 23:52Speaker 2: We have a Prince tribute, We have Johnny One back
- 23:56Speaker 2: with a tribute to led Ze.
- 23:58Speaker 3: Yeah, that's gonna be I think that's the night that
- 24:00Speaker 3: Mountain is going to be there at five, sir grat Station.

- 24:04Speaker 3: of us are there every weeky Tonight is your Sister
- 24:06Speaker 3: Company night.
- 24:06Speaker 10: Steven Jenny will be there.
- 24:07Speaker 2: I know you guys went down and visited them just
- 24:09Speaker 2: a moment ago because Amy Rain was on the one
- 24:11Speaker 2: hundred at one point in her career.
- 24:14Speaker 10: What a stellar career she's had and just love her.
- 24:17Speaker 2: But yet tonight's be one hundred night and Steven Jenny,

- 30:04Speaker 13: Saturday and Sunday, and great weather looking like for both
- 30:08Speaker 13: of those two taking over two blocks of excuse me,
- 30:11Speaker 13: two blocks of Capitol Street with like seventy vendors on
- 30:15Speaker 13: the two hundred block there in front of Taylor's and
- 30:18Speaker 13: all kinds of free activities for kids on the one
- 30:20Speaker 13: hundred block there in front of the library.
- 30:23Speaker 7: It's gonna be a good week.
- 30:24Speaker 3: So let's talk about the week that was. The week
- 30:28Speaker 3: that was with because i mean the weather, you know,
- 30:30Speaker 3: caused a lot of issues, you know, I mean for
- 30:33Speaker 3: everybody and for everything we mentioned live on the levee
- 30:35Speaker 3: had to be moved indoors. And but you know, there's
- 30:37Speaker 3: nothing nothing you can do about the weather, well but
- 30:40Speaker 3: work around it. And you guys have had had to
- 30:41Speaker 3: work around it on some things. But it's looking good now.
- 30:44Speaker 3: Talk about what how much effecting on this.
- 30:46Speaker 13: Book was that Jogu Barrett said, everybody talks about the weather,
- 30:48Speaker 13: but nobody does he does anything about it. We had
- 30:51Speaker 13: to make a last minute pivot on our festiv All
- 30:53Speaker 13: family cookout, but ended up at the Capital Market thanks
- 30:56Speaker 13: to those guys over there, and it was great, Like
- 30:59Speaker 13: we we're already talking like maybe we should just do it.
- 31:02Speaker 7: Here next year. And uh our Carriage Trail.
- 31:05Speaker 13: We thought about calling that off last Sunday, but the
- 31:08Speaker 13: storms blew through and blew out and then we had a.
- 31:11Speaker 6: I was there. That was fun.
- 31:13Speaker 7: I say that because I come up with that idea.
- 31:16Speaker 13: But yeah, different musicians, what was your favorite?
- 31:21Speaker 6: Oh, the band that was under the Rock? I love
- 31:25Speaker 6: the swing Oh Minor Swinging.
- 31:27Speaker 7: They are amazing.
- 31:28Speaker 13: Yeah, that's also one of my favorite places on the
- 31:31Speaker 13: trail to put people.
- 31:32Speaker 7: They come out back in that little case.
- 31:33Speaker 6: It's a little acoustics, right.
- 31:35Speaker 7: Yes, exactly.
- 31:36Speaker 3: So let's go over everything for the weekend. Yeah, I
- 31:38Speaker 3: mean you mentioned some of it. Let's do the entire schedule.
- 31:40Speaker 13: We've got tonight, we've got live on the Levy of course,
- 31:43Speaker 13: and then tomorrow we have our Capitol Street Art Fair.
- 31:46Speaker 3: When I'm a backup, don't don't you have a square
- 31:48Speaker 3: dancing here?
- 31:49Speaker 7: We oh, yeah, you're right.
- 31:50Speaker 13: Tonight we have square dancing with foot Man. Thanks for
- 31:53Speaker 13: minding me. Yeah, that's where it can all presby. Yeah,
- 31:56Speaker 13: they do those pretty regularly, but this is a special
- 31:59Speaker 13: festival audition and they're going to have live music from
- 32:01Speaker 13: the Kessinger Brothers world champion flat picking guitarist Robin Kessinger,
- 32:06Speaker 13: kind of a local legend. He's going to be playing
- 32:09Speaker 13: guitar there with his brother who play mandolin, and then
- 32:12Speaker 13: they've got a caller there, so that'll be a that's
- 32:17Speaker 13: it within walking distance from the levee. So if you
- 32:19Speaker 13: want to get some square dance action in at kenof
- 32:23Speaker 13: Presbyterian and then walk down to the levee and enjoy
- 32:25Speaker 13: some New Orleans funk music, you'd have a very eclectic mind.
- 32:29Speaker 3: As they said, something for everybody. All right, let's go
- 32:32Speaker 3: down the list of activities for tomorrow.
- 32:33Speaker 13: On Sunday, Saturday, we have our Capitol Street Art Fair
- 32:38Speaker 13: happening at kicking off at ten, and we've got all
- 32:43Speaker 13: those vendors. We've got live bands on the stage there
- 32:46Speaker 13: all day long. We have on like I said, on
- 32:49Speaker 13: one hundred block, we have our Children's Art Fair, which
- 32:51Speaker 13: will have a dozen different local organizations with free activities
- 32:55Speaker 13: for kids. We have a stage over there as well
- 32:57Speaker 13: with kids entertainment. Same thing on Sunday. We also have
- 33:02Speaker 13: Festive Viola on Sunday at the Women's Club of Charleston,
- 33:06Speaker 13: a celebration of the viola, and that goes to benefit
- 33:10Speaker 13: the West Virginia Youth Symphony. The Canall Valley Community Band
- 33:15Speaker 13: has a concert with a Latin name that I can't
- 33:18Speaker 13: and won't pronounce on air.
- 33:21Speaker 7: I'm not gonna try it.
- 33:22Speaker 3: But they're amazing.
- 33:24Speaker 7: They kicked us off at Memorial Day and it was magic.
- 33:28Speaker 7: They are so good.
- 33:29Speaker 13: And what's cool about that one that that concert is
- 33:31Speaker 13: at christ Church United Methodists and this piece uses the
- 33:36Speaker 13: new pipe organ that they installed over there, and the
- 33:39Speaker 13: instruments are kind of like the members of the choir
- 33:42Speaker 13: being backed up by this giant pipe organ and I've
- 33:45Speaker 13: heard from a few of those guys. I guess they
- 33:47Speaker 13: ran through it and apparently that thing just shakes the walls.
- 33:52Speaker 13: That's going to be a great time. And then we
- 33:54Speaker 13: of course have our river cruises, but those are all
- 33:56Speaker 13: sold out, though I did want to mention, though I
- 33:59Speaker 13: didn't want to mention BB Riverboats, who brought the River
- 34:02Speaker 13: Queen up here for us. They have daily sight sand
- 34:05Speaker 13: cruises outside of what festival is doing. So at like
- 34:09Speaker 13: twelve two and four, you can just walk straight down
- 34:11Speaker 13: there and buy your ticket and take an hour and
- 34:14Speaker 13: a half cruise.
- 34:15Speaker 7: Up and down the canal on that really cool old riverboat.
- 34:19Speaker 3: Cool and I mean it's just going down. You mentioned
- 34:25Speaker 3: the sunset yoga. Did you mention the Youga sunset yoga?
- 34:28Speaker 13: Yeah, we have sunset yoga down there and had had.
- 34:30Speaker 13: We began our schedule with sunrise yoga and we ended
- 34:34Speaker 13: with sunset yoga. The folks at the Folded Leaf do
- 34:36Speaker 13: such a great job, had a great turnout for that
- 34:38Speaker 13: first one and probably equally and they're doing a sound bath,
- 34:42Speaker 13: which is where they know they kind of have gongs
- 34:45Speaker 13: and fowls and stuff.
- 34:46Speaker 7: It's just this real soothing atmosphere. It'll be a good
- 34:49Speaker 7: way to to for us to calm down after a
- 34:52Speaker 7: week of excitement.
- 34:54Speaker 6: And the used book sale is that tomorrow too.
- 34:56Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 34:56Speaker 13: The ca All, I mean the Canal Library has all
- 34:59Speaker 13: that stuff going on. And on the fourth floor of
- 35:02Speaker 13: the Canall Library, we have our Art for All Art show,
- 35:05Speaker 13: which features art from elementary schoolers from Canall and all
- 35:09Speaker 13: the surrounding counties. Tomorrow at two we're going to have
- 35:12Speaker 13: an awards ceremony and we're going to give awards to
- 35:15Speaker 13: the best in show for each grade level and then
- 35:17Speaker 13: a People's Choice award. So if you haven't gotten over
- 35:20Speaker 13: there to vote yet, now's your chance to vote for
- 35:23Speaker 13: the People's choice.
- 35:24Speaker 3: And you've got something. And this is not necessarily related
- 35:27Speaker 3: to festival, but kind of goes along with the whole vibe.
- 35:29Speaker 3: You get a friend, it's doing something over Taylor Books
- 35:31Speaker 3: tomorrow and I'll give a chance to plug that amy.
- 35:33Speaker 6: Yeah. My friend Terry Binyon, she's lived in Orlando for
- 35:37Speaker 6: forty years and she has family here in West Virginia St.
- 35:40Speaker 6: Albans and decided to move here and has been here
- 35:43Speaker 6: for a year now. Loves it and is now becoming
- 35:45Speaker 6: a big part of the music scene here. So she's
- 35:48Speaker 6: going to be at Tailor's tonight at seven thirty.
- 35:50Speaker 3: Okay, cool, I have to check that out. I mean,
- 35:52Speaker 3: it's like you're gonna have tied to check anything out.
- 35:54Speaker 13: Dude, Come on, well, let me think, let me think
- 35:57Speaker 13: what I got going on tonight.
- 35:58Speaker 7: Yeah, you're right now, I would love to hear though.
- 36:02Speaker 13: We also something else I forgot to mention was Taylor's
- 36:05Speaker 13: tomorrow we have poems while you wait. West Virginia poet
- 36:09Speaker 13: Mark Harshman's a show and another poet there with him
- 36:12Speaker 13: are going to have vintage mechanical manual typewriters and you
- 36:17Speaker 13: go up, slip them a fiver and they'll bang out
- 36:20Speaker 13: a poem. It's part of the entertainment is watching them
- 36:24Speaker 13: fight with the typewriter. It's they're not easy machines to
- 36:31Speaker 13: work with, and I think it adds to the creative
- 36:33Speaker 13: process somehow.
- 36:34Speaker 3: Renee Nicholson was who that was in relation to Ukraine.
- 36:37Speaker 3: You're different, different bunch of Nicholsons. And my producer and
- 36:41Speaker 3: I know what you mean about the typewriter thing, because
- 36:44Speaker 3: we were having this discussion not long ago, Mada Baron,
- 36:46Speaker 3: my co host and ire at ten years apart in age,
- 36:48Speaker 3: we were talking about learning to type at school. And
- 36:50Speaker 3: I'm old enough to remember that when we learned to type,
- 36:53Speaker 3: we actually typed on manual typewriters. They were not electric
- 36:57Speaker 3: or not connected anything. Furthermore, they did not have the
- 37:01Speaker 3: letters on the keys, so and that was to teach
- 37:05Speaker 3: you to touch. That was the we had all these
- 37:07Speaker 3: desks was General Bidget business in ninth grade to put
- 37:10Speaker 3: these typewriters in front of us, and all of the
- 37:13Speaker 3: stickers with the letters had been removed, so you had
- 37:16Speaker 3: to learn the letters.
- 37:18Speaker 7: I bet you can.
- 37:20Speaker 3: I can not accurately, but looks like it looks like
- 37:23Speaker 3: a ransom note when I get done with it.
- 37:25Speaker 12: But I do have that.
- 37:26Speaker 3: I do have that, Billy.
- 37:28Speaker 7: Lucky I did.
- 37:29Speaker 13: I was able to learn on a pretty rudimentary like
- 37:31Speaker 13: early computer.
- 37:32Speaker 7: To type it in school. But man, that came in
- 37:34Speaker 7: handy well in the in the journalism days when you're
- 37:37Speaker 7: trying to take.
- 37:38Speaker 3: Exactly exactly And somebody asked about the book sale. This
- 37:42Speaker 3: is at the library, right, okay, not to be confused
- 37:44Speaker 3: with the one that happens every we're at the Civic Center.
- 37:46Speaker 13: This is this at the summer one at the library
- 37:49Speaker 13: and get it on. Get it Saturday because the library
- 37:53Speaker 13: will be closed.
- 37:54Speaker 3: And somebody asked about the concerts live on the levee
- 37:56Speaker 3: being streamed. That's generally speaking not a thing simply because
- 38:00Speaker 3: of copyright issues. That's what I've been told in the past.
- 38:03Speaker 3: It'd be nice if you could stream, you know, regattas
- 38:06Speaker 3: and things like that, and not saying that people don't
- 38:08Speaker 3: do it with their phone, but legally, legally you cannot
- 38:12Speaker 3: stream like live on the lay and things like that
- 38:14Speaker 3: because somebody has got to pay the fees, you know,
- 38:18Speaker 3: to do that. So and it's and it's not cheap,
- 38:21Speaker 3: and it's absolutely Now. Look, if you put something on
- 38:24Speaker 3: social media, that's up to you, but then you've always
- 38:27Speaker 3: got to put that disclaimer. I do not own the
- 38:29Speaker 3: rights of this music too, because made it will come
- 38:31Speaker 3: after you.
- 38:32Speaker 7: They'll just take you down.
- 38:33Speaker 3: Yeah. I get years ago at another radio station, a
- 38:38Speaker 3: totally unrelated anything, but I was doing mornings at a
- 38:41Speaker 3: radio station and we Facebook live first became a thing.
- 38:45Speaker 3: Turned on the phone with about forty five seconds left
- 38:49Speaker 3: in the song and we hadn't turned on the microphone
- 38:51Speaker 3: yet we were getting ready to announce a Big Contest
- 38:53Speaker 3: winner and we played forty five minutes forty five seconds
- 38:56Speaker 3: or so of the end of a Boston song. That's
- 38:59Speaker 3: all it. Facebook jumped right in. They jumped right in
- 39:02Speaker 3: and said that is copyright infringement. You cannot do that,
- 39:05Speaker 3: and we got a twenty four hour suspension for do
- 39:09Speaker 3: So what we have to do now is you're very
- 39:11Speaker 3: limited on what you put up and then you always
- 39:13Speaker 3: have that. I'm just telling this to average people. If
- 39:15Speaker 3: you put something up like that and letting now if
- 39:17Speaker 3: it comes. If you share something from YouTube, that's different.
- 39:19Speaker 3: They've paid the fees. But if you're putting something on
- 39:21Speaker 3: the streaming on your personal you need to put on there.
- 39:24Speaker 3: I do not own the rights of this music, because
- 39:26Speaker 3: they will come after you. Get you all right, fest of.

- 39:38Speaker 13: you the rundown of everything that's happening, when and where.
- 39:40Speaker 3: All Right, you've done a great job and this is
- 39:42Speaker 3: your first one, right, first big when when last year?
- 39:47Speaker 13: But this is the first main festival and it's I mean,
- 39:49Speaker 13: it's just people have come out and supported it so much.
- 39:51Speaker 13: It's it's so heartwarming to see the amount of support.
- 39:55Speaker 13: That's just that this organization gets from just people in town.
- 40:00Speaker 7: We had last night we were doing these series of
- 40:03Speaker 7: festival river cruises.
- 40:04Speaker 13: And have you heard Karemo the salsa band here now,
- 40:08Speaker 13: they're amazing. We put them on the River Queen with
- 40:11Speaker 13: the Charleston Salsa Club, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary
- 40:15Speaker 13: this year, and two and a half hours up and
- 40:18Speaker 13: down the river and those people never stopped dancing from
- 40:21Speaker 13: the time we left the dock till the time.
- 40:23Speaker 7: We got nice. It was amazing.
- 40:25Speaker 13: And we've got I don't want to rub it in
- 40:27Speaker 13: because they're sold out. We got two cruises with Bob
- 40:30Speaker 13: Thompson on Saturday. We've got a Murder Mystery with Mariah
- 40:34Speaker 13: Plant and original Murder Mystery production happened on Sunday night.
- 40:38Speaker 13: It's just that's been such an amazing addition to this festival,
- 40:43Speaker 13: and hopefully we can get back next year and hopefully
- 40:45Speaker 13: we can open up more cruises that people can.

- 45:34Speaker 3: the voiceover. I'm doing the voiceover thing all right? Question, yes,
- 45:38Speaker 3: what skills this is? According to text? What skills or
- 45:41Speaker 3: requirements are needed for someone to become a voiceover talent?
- 45:44Speaker 3: How did you get chosen this type of work? And

- 46:01Speaker 6: it's commercials thirty sixty or corporate narrations. Corporate narrations are
- 46:08Speaker 6: huge in this industry right now. E learning is big.

- 46:29Speaker 6: when you're you know you're taking care of you and
- 46:31Speaker 6: your family, or you're going to a water park this weekend.
- 46:36Speaker 6: We're going to bring the whole family to this water park.
- 46:39Speaker 6: So it's knowing how to acting basically right, it's just acting.
- 46:44Speaker 6: Take improv. Join join the Little Theater here in Charleston.
- 46:48Speaker 6: Join the Light Opera.
- 46:49Speaker 3: Guild that helps any chance the texture that will see
- 46:54Speaker 3: you or hear you in a Disney or Pixar time
- 46:56Speaker 3: film in the future.
- 46:58Speaker 6: Your lips to God's ears.
- 47:01Speaker 3: She's accepting the offers. Yes, have you ever done any
- 47:04Speaker 3: political Oh? Yes, okay, because now I'm kind of what's
- 47:08Speaker 3: developed over the last ten to fifteen years, and not
- 47:10Speaker 3: only radio but also television and online as well, has
- 47:13Speaker 3: been you know, these almost demonic sounding I'm gonna use
- 47:18Speaker 3: Ryan for an example. Okay, So it's like, Ryan Nicholson,
- 47:22Speaker 3: is this who you want to further the blank agenda whatever?
- 47:26Speaker 3: You know that or that sort of thing.
- 47:27Speaker 6: Yes, and see with that, you need to come down
- 47:29Speaker 6: just a little more. You be a little more angry
- 47:32Speaker 6: about it.
- 47:32Speaker 3: You tried to work with me on air before, and
- 47:35Speaker 3: I need a lot of work, you know, because I've
- 47:37Speaker 3: been thirty eight years in this business, but I've never
- 47:40Speaker 3: done what you.
- 47:41Speaker 6: Do, you know, kay, because you're still the announcer. And
- 47:43Speaker 6: that's the thing with Oh that's the other thing with voiceover.
- 47:47Speaker 6: The big announcer sound has gone. It's just chatty conversational okay.
- 47:51Speaker 3: Mainly see, I grew up being a fan of and
- 47:55Speaker 3: I got in on the very end of the Boss Radio,
- 47:58Speaker 3: and Boss does not mean Bruce spring Buss is the
- 48:01Speaker 3: big guy.
- 48:02Speaker 12: Have it talks like this.
- 48:02Speaker 3: We got ten in to row coming up right here.
- 48:04Speaker 6: I missed that.
- 48:05Speaker 3: Yeah, really between that and the atract your poll commercials
- 48:09Speaker 3: tonight tonight tonight, and I've done a lot of those,
- 48:10Speaker 3: and if I do anymore then I won't be able
- 48:12Speaker 3: to speak for the rest of the day. But things
- 48:14Speaker 3: are about, you know, just being chatty.
- 48:17Speaker 1: Now.
- 48:17Speaker 6: Yeah, it made a shift around ten fifteen years ago
- 48:21Speaker 6: and just started. Everything is just conversational, non announcery.
- 48:25Speaker 3: All right, I'm going to bring up a couple of
- 48:27Speaker 3: letters to you that are probably going to anger you,
- 48:32Speaker 3: not not anger you, but the last time you were here, No,
- 48:34Speaker 3: the last time you were here, somebody texted the show
- 48:37Speaker 3: and ask about are you and those who do what
- 48:40Speaker 3: you do for letting concerned about AI. It's it is
- 48:44Speaker 3: hard to believe how much it's taken off since then.
- 48:48Speaker 3: I don't remember exactly when you were on the show.
- 48:49Speaker 3: It was one time. It's like last fall or something.
- 48:51Speaker 3: The last time you were on, I mean even since then. So,
- 48:56Speaker 3: just like with any other new technology, you learned to
- 48:58Speaker 3: work with it to a certain extent. So you're just
- 49:01Speaker 3: your take.
- 49:02Speaker 6: Go ahead exactly. I have done one job where my
- 49:08Speaker 6: voice has been used ethically for AI. I signed a
- 49:12Speaker 6: contract whole deal. But yes, I'm trying to work with it.
- 49:17Speaker 6: But also I'm also pushing for the hashtag higher human
- 49:24Speaker 6: because you cannot direct a robot. So most of the
- 49:30Speaker 6: voiceover jobs that I do are via session online and
- 49:35Speaker 6: or sometimes in person, but more online, and I'm directed
- 49:40Speaker 6: to say, no, let's warm this up, let's change the
- 49:42Speaker 6: inflection on this word. You can't do that with a robot,
- 49:45Speaker 6: and it costs more money to continue to hire the
- 49:48Speaker 6: AI to get exactly what you want. I'm sure I
- 49:52Speaker 6: hate saying this, that it's probably going to continue getting better,
- 49:55Speaker 6: but still there's nothing like human emotion.
- 50:01Speaker 3: And that's one of the knocks on AI is that
- 50:04Speaker 3: when it comes to I'm talking about for vocalization purposes,
- 50:07Speaker 3: is that it and again, like everything else, it may
- 50:10Speaker 3: get there at some point and if it does, then
- 50:12Speaker 3: it's probably gonna kill us all but but but but
- 50:15Speaker 3: I'm more concerned about that that it doesn't. It just
- 50:18Speaker 3: cannot offer you at this point the emotion that you
- 50:21Speaker 3: can put in things like you know, sad sound or
- 50:25Speaker 3: happy sound like.
- 50:26Speaker 7: You did earlier.
- 50:26Speaker 3: But it's not the same. It's just not the same
- 50:28Speaker 3: as a human and you can and you can tell it.
- 50:29Speaker 6: You can tell Thank goodness.
- 50:31Speaker 3: Yeah, I are you? Uh, I know your your schedule
- 50:35Speaker 3: stays are very busy. But are you accepting new new
- 50:38Speaker 3: clients now or are you just oh yeah all the time?
- 50:41Speaker 17: Right?
- 50:41Speaker 3: Where can somebody reach out to you? What's the best
- 50:43Speaker 3: place to find you?
- 50:44Speaker 6: Oh, let's see. You can email me at Amy dot
- 50:46Speaker 6: breedlove A g I oh A M I E. Yeah, Ama, yes,
