- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey guys, I'm Brendan from Sisters Doll and I'm honored
- 0:02Speaker 1: to be here chatting to Heavy magazine with my dear
- 0:05Speaker 1: friend Chris. And yeah, we're gone on tour very soon,
- 0:08Speaker 1: so see you.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Soon, Fantasy. Brendan always a pleasure to smile and face brother.
- 0:14Speaker 3: Thanks Chris, I appreciate you doing this for us.
- 0:17Speaker 2: Is it all? My friends?
- 0:18Speaker 4: So as you say, Sister col are headed back on
- 0:20Speaker 4: the road later this month, say to be a live
- 0:22Speaker 4: twenty twenty celebration tour, starting in Melbourne on the thirty
- 0:26Speaker 4: first January, before picking up in Every the thirteenth, the
- 0:30Speaker 4: heading to the Gold Coast Adelaide and finishing up in
- 0:32Speaker 4: your home state of West Australia on May the twenty first.
- 0:36Speaker 4: I've been to a lot of your shows made and
- 0:37Speaker 4: every system golshour, great party, but why is this one
- 0:42Speaker 4: so special?
- 0:44Speaker 3: I think we haven't done an Australian tour for so long.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Like we've been overseas a lot of times that we've
- 0:49Speaker 1: been to America. We had our first UK tour last
- 0:52Speaker 1: year and we'll like we really got and obviously we've
- 0:55Speaker 1: done numerous Melbourne shows. You know, we've taken gone up
- 0:57Speaker 1: to Sydney occasionally and done the Odd Sydney Show, but
- 1:00Speaker 1: we haven't actually gone to all the other states since
- 1:03Speaker 1: I think like twenty twenty three, to be honest, so
- 1:06Speaker 1: we kind of thought it's time. You know, we probably
- 1:08Speaker 1: should have done it last year when the album dropped,
- 1:10Speaker 1: but obviously logistically it just didn't happen because obviously we
- 1:14Speaker 1: were going overseas and there was like it was just
- 1:17Speaker 1: hard to logistically make it all happen. So when some
- 1:19Speaker 1: time happened and we thought it's good to tour Australia
- 1:22Speaker 1: sort of in the summer months, you know, like the
- 1:24Speaker 1: start of the year, sort of when everyone's sort of
- 1:26Speaker 1: you know, had the Christmas period and the New Year's starts,
- 1:30Speaker 1: so we're like, let's make it happen. So we just
- 1:32Speaker 1: booked the dates in we thought let's just do it
- 1:34Speaker 1: and try and line up a run. So we're excited
- 1:37Speaker 1: to be ye heading.
- 1:38Speaker 3: Back to wa especially because obviously we've.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Got family there and friends, so it's kind of like
- 1:43Speaker 1: gone to say hello to them as well. And then
- 1:45Speaker 1: obviously we haven't played Adelaide and Queensland in particular two.
- 1:49Speaker 3: For years, so we're kind of very excited to.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Take the original stuff to them States again and the
- 1:55Speaker 1: new album, which we're excited about.
- 2:00Speaker 4: Where pre selling tickets, it's almost possibly being like you
- 2:04Speaker 4: guys have almost sold out your Melbourne Stelle already made.
- 2:06Speaker 4: Like things like that have got to put a smile
- 2:08Speaker 4: on your face.
- 2:10Speaker 3: That where I actually, yeah, I know, it's amazing.
- 2:15Speaker 1: It's like our fans are very passionate, which is which
- 2:18Speaker 1: is really great because it does give you a good
- 2:20Speaker 1: indication of like when you go to a gig, like
- 2:24Speaker 1: how many you know people are going to be in
- 2:25Speaker 1: the room. It's funny. The last Sydney show where we did,
- 2:28Speaker 1: we pre sold x amount of tick because I can't
- 2:30Speaker 1: remember how many. It was in the end, pretty close
- 2:32Speaker 1: to you know, selling out the venue, and we thought, oh,
- 2:35Speaker 1: you know, on the night, you know another you know,
- 2:37Speaker 1: fifty six you will come, which would make it the
- 2:39Speaker 1: sell out. But no one rocked up on the door.
- 2:41Speaker 1: So everyone was like it was kind of opposite to
- 2:44Speaker 1: what the norm. You know, you think, pre sell fifty
- 2:48Speaker 1: one hundred and then another one hundred or fifty will
- 2:50Speaker 1: come on the door, you know, but.
- 2:51Speaker 3: It was it was great.
- 2:53Speaker 1: Yeah, it's good to have that passionate fan base that
- 2:55Speaker 1: want to get in early and all the vps sold out,
- 2:58Speaker 1: so that's that's a good sign. And then it's probably
- 3:00Speaker 1: going to be our biggest headline tour of Australia we've
- 3:03Speaker 1: ever done. So yeah, that's that's exciting in itself, like
- 3:07Speaker 1: the yeah, the amount of people. You know, obviously we're
- 3:10Speaker 1: not playing huge rooms, but it's still to be able
- 3:12Speaker 1: to go and like have a good night at each night.
- 3:14Speaker 3: It's gonna be it's gonna be fun.
- 3:16Speaker 4: Yeah, and anyone who's seen you guys before live, but
- 3:21Speaker 4: those who might not of like what is a special
- 3:25Speaker 4: a live shot?
- 3:26Speaker 2: But run us?
- 3:29Speaker 1: I think I think the exciting thing for us is
- 3:33Speaker 1: where we sort of shine, I guess is on stage.
- 3:35Speaker 1: We love being on stage and that's probably the funnest
- 3:37Speaker 1: thing we love about being in a band. You know,
- 3:39Speaker 1: we love recording music obviously and doing the film clips
- 3:42Speaker 1: and you know, touring and stuff like that, but being
- 3:44Speaker 1: on stage and performing is where all four of us
- 3:46Speaker 1: love to be. You know, like just entertaining a crowd,
- 3:49Speaker 1: whether it's you know, five hundred people or you know
- 3:52Speaker 1: to two hundred or twenty people. You know, we sort
- 3:55Speaker 1: of put the same effort on because we just love
- 3:57Speaker 1: performing and we don't do it as regularly anymore because
- 4:00Speaker 1: you know, we've got our own lives going on, and
- 4:03Speaker 1: you know, when we perform, we really really what's the word,
- 4:07Speaker 1: you know, like really embrace it because we don't get
- 4:09Speaker 1: to do it all the time because obviously you're juggling
- 4:11Speaker 1: all different things. So yeah, I think that's where we
- 4:14Speaker 1: sort of shine. And we just love performing. So that's
- 4:17Speaker 1: why our sister's old show to us is so special,
- 4:20Speaker 1: and I think that's what people get off. And we
- 4:22Speaker 1: like putting a show on, you know, rather than just
- 4:23Speaker 1: getting up there and playing like we do, go into
- 4:26Speaker 1: a bit of efforts to you know, make the stage
- 4:29Speaker 1: sort of look unified and we look unified, and so
- 4:33Speaker 1: it is like people are going to a show in
- 4:35Speaker 1: a club as opposed to you know, like a stadium show.
- 4:38Speaker 4: I guess, yeah, those have always put a lot of
- 4:42Speaker 4: energy to focus live shows. But how far have your
- 4:45Speaker 4: shows come from those days at the Cannas Crazy Quadron?
- 4:49Speaker 2: Now?
- 4:51Speaker 1: Yeah, I know, back then we used to just whatever
- 4:53Speaker 1: lights we had, whatever thing we'd have, we just.
- 4:55Speaker 3: Chuck on stage.
- 4:56Speaker 1: And sometimes it was a bit like probably too much,
- 4:59Speaker 1: I guess you could think about, Like when you think
- 5:00Speaker 1: about it.
- 5:01Speaker 3: Was a lot going on.
- 5:02Speaker 1: So we've sort of really streamlined it, you know, and
- 5:04Speaker 1: as you get older, you know you sort of wanted
- 5:06Speaker 1: to crisp it up a little bit, a bit more,
- 5:09Speaker 1: you know, make it a bit more professional, bit more streamlined.
- 5:12Speaker 1: And obviously you know, we are a bit older now too,
- 5:14Speaker 1: so you know, the less stuff we can take, it's
- 5:17Speaker 1: a bit like, oh, we don't need it, Like you know,
- 5:18Speaker 1: before we will have the energy, like we've still got
- 5:21Speaker 1: the energy and the ambition, but you know we would go, oh,
- 5:23Speaker 1: let's chuck that in, or let's break the two stacks,
- 5:26Speaker 1: you know, as opposed to just the one, you know,
- 5:28Speaker 1: just for the visuals. Whereas now it's like, all right,
- 5:30Speaker 1: let's see what we can make look just as an
- 5:33Speaker 1: epic but without killing our backs.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Press release chapter to the band. How so.
- 5:42Speaker 1: I think it's it's just another like another move in
- 5:46Speaker 1: a like a positive direction. Like we're actually re releasing
- 5:50Speaker 1: the song good Day to Be Alive. So that was
- 5:53Speaker 1: a song we released literally ten years ago. I think
- 5:55Speaker 1: it came out twenty sixteen. When we released it was
- 5:57Speaker 1: on our second album, So we've literally gone back into
- 5:59Speaker 1: this studio dio revamped the song. We've even got some fans,
- 6:03Speaker 1: like some of the close hardcore fans that wanted to
- 6:05Speaker 1: be a part of it. We got twenty of the
- 6:08Speaker 1: Yeah hardcore fans that came in and actually came into
- 6:11Speaker 1: the studio and recorded the song with us, so it
- 6:13Speaker 1: made it special. And obviously Sage being in the band,
- 6:16Speaker 1: it was another way of saying, well, you know, we're
- 6:18Speaker 1: gonna celebrate what we've done in the past, but this
- 6:21Speaker 1: is like the new chap deal with Sage and it's
- 6:23Speaker 1: sort of probably the beginning of the next phase of
- 6:25Speaker 1: the next album. So we're sort of in the plans
- 6:28Speaker 1: of locking in some more studio time to Yeah get
- 6:31Speaker 1: the next album underway, which is exciting. So because last
- 6:34Speaker 1: time we've we've you know, we've spaced out times between albums,
- 6:38Speaker 1: you know, because obviously COVID happened, Sage wasn't in the band,
- 6:41Speaker 1: and you know it just time got on. So now
- 6:44Speaker 1: we're like, nah, we can't wait another five years. We've
- 6:46Speaker 1: got to sort of keep the momentum sort of flowing,
- 6:48Speaker 1: you know, because people's attention spans these days are so short.
- 6:51Speaker 1: You know, you've got to kind of keep them, Yeah,
- 6:54Speaker 1: and we always felt good day to be alive. The
- 6:55Speaker 1: actual song sort of didn't get the credit. It was
- 6:58Speaker 1: sort of deserved, I guess, probably because we're in more
- 7:02Speaker 1: of our earlier days and it's always been a crowd
- 7:06Speaker 1: favorite when we play it live, Like even when we
- 7:08Speaker 1: went to the UK, like, no one knew us really like,
- 7:11Speaker 1: but by the end of the night we had him
- 7:13Speaker 1: singing that song right at the end.
- 7:14Speaker 3: In our UK management team over there at the.
- 7:16Speaker 1: Time, we're like, I've never seen this happen before for
- 7:19Speaker 1: a band to get up, you know, people singing along.
- 7:22Speaker 1: They said there's something with that song, so they really
- 7:24Speaker 1: kind of pushed us to say, well, let's re record it.
- 7:27Speaker 1: And obviously Tim from X Music he's always vouched for
- 7:30Speaker 1: that song as well, so he's like, he goes, you
- 7:32Speaker 1: really got to get a shit hot recording, like an
- 7:34Speaker 1: updated version of it.
- 7:35Speaker 3: So we're like, all right, let's do it.
- 7:37Speaker 1: So that's what we did, and having the fans involved
- 7:40Speaker 1: as well was quite special, so we're excited for everyone
- 7:42Speaker 1: to hear it.
- 7:44Speaker 2: All right.
- 7:44Speaker 4: Man, you've also said what a great selection of local
- 7:47Speaker 4: support bands or you've got struck done. Mistress the Dreadful Tides,
- 7:50Speaker 4: Tala Made, Rejects, Audio Rain, Electric State.
- 7:54Speaker 2: It's more made like.
- 7:55Speaker 4: But almost of a massive music festival. The talent justice
- 7:58Speaker 4: support bands.
- 8:01Speaker 3: Oh I know this, that's the thing.
- 8:03Speaker 1: There's so much talent in Australia and we were honored
- 8:06Speaker 1: and set took back a little bit when we announced
- 8:08Speaker 1: the tour, the amount of inbox messages and emails and
- 8:12Speaker 1: even some of the venue bookers like wrote to us
- 8:15Speaker 1: and said, hey, like, we've got these bands like wanting
- 8:17Speaker 1: to be on the tour, wanting to be a support
- 8:19Speaker 1: So it was like so hard. So we just compiled
- 8:21Speaker 1: a list and you know, of bands that we thought
- 8:24Speaker 1: were going to suit the night, add to the night,
- 8:27Speaker 1: and it was so hard to sort of choose all
- 8:30Speaker 1: the bands and we've just kind of said like and
- 8:32Speaker 1: so we just went through everyone who was going to
- 8:34Speaker 1: be in each state and yeah, we're honored to that
- 8:38Speaker 1: they wanted to be a part of the show and
- 8:39Speaker 1: it's going.
- 8:40Speaker 3: To just add to a great night that it will
- 8:42Speaker 3: already be. So we're pumped.
- 8:45Speaker 4: Oh now, you guys started back in twenty ten and
- 8:48Speaker 4: my arithmetics is not that good. But the way I
- 8:50Speaker 4: look at it is you guys turned speech team, bro, Like,
- 8:54Speaker 4: do you ever take time to look back on what.
- 8:56Speaker 2: You so far and what you want?
- 9:00Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 9:00Speaker 1: I always say, like you like, I'd never know what
- 9:04Speaker 1: the life, like, my life would be like without sisters,
- 9:06Speaker 1: don't now because it's been a part of my life
- 9:08Speaker 1: for so long, Like not just sisters, dob up music
- 9:10Speaker 1: in general, and because we're brothers, you know, obviously, and
- 9:14Speaker 1: we catch up for family events like Christmas time and stuff.
- 9:17Speaker 1: It always circles back around to what the band's doing.
- 9:20Speaker 1: What are we going to do, like the next steps
- 9:22Speaker 1: moving forward and stuff, and yeah, we do, like we
- 9:25Speaker 1: sometimes you know, there's things that you wish you could
- 9:27Speaker 1: go back and redo, like with the brain you've got now,
- 9:30Speaker 1: like you know, but like as the time goes on,
- 9:32Speaker 1: you know, you like, but it's all part.
- 9:34Speaker 3: Of the journey.
- 9:35Speaker 1: And I wouldn't change a thing we've done in the past.
- 9:37Speaker 1: And I, yeah, I am proud of what we've achieved up
- 9:40Speaker 1: until this point. You know, there's still a lot more
- 9:42Speaker 1: we'd love to achieve, and we'll keep going until we
- 9:44Speaker 1: can try and achieve them. And yeah, until we sort
- 9:47Speaker 1: of the fire burns out inside all of us, we'll
- 9:49Speaker 1: probably yeah, we'll just keep trucking along until I mean,
- 9:52Speaker 1: we still have a big passion for it and I
- 9:54Speaker 1: think that's probably what's kept us going, is that passion
- 9:58Speaker 1: and the and the opportun unities we've got each year,
- 10:01Speaker 1: Like you know, like we've got Monsters of Rock Crews
- 10:03Speaker 1: last year, which was like amazing opportunity for us, and
- 10:07Speaker 1: you know, to be one of the first Australian bands
- 10:09Speaker 1: to get booked on that was really quite flattering. And
- 10:11Speaker 1: then obviously, you know, then we went to the UK
- 10:15Speaker 1: and then the album was well received as well, so
- 10:18Speaker 1: we'll kind of because obviously we hadn't released music for
- 10:20Speaker 1: a while when we released Scars and the reception it
- 10:23Speaker 1: got were like, oh, there's people out there.
- 10:25Speaker 3: There's fans. We sort of gained more fans and we're like, wow,
- 10:28Speaker 3: this is kind of cool. So we thought we got
- 10:30Speaker 3: to keep that momentum going.
- 10:31Speaker 1: And having Sage in the band has definitely rejuvenated me,
- 10:34Speaker 1: Bryce and Austin, so we kind of feel like a
- 10:36Speaker 1: new band even though we've been around for what whether
- 10:39Speaker 1: it is fifteen years years.
- 10:42Speaker 2: I'm not speaking of Sage Bade.
- 10:44Speaker 4: I'm only going to ask you one question on this
- 10:45Speaker 4: because you think of everyone taking the family angle, but
- 10:48Speaker 4: one of those since he's been in the band, What
- 10:50Speaker 4: is stupidest argument?
- 10:52Speaker 2: That is a family argument, the stupidest, Yeah, the stupidest.
- 10:58Speaker 1: Well, it's funny when we're on When we were in
- 10:59Speaker 1: the UK, we had like we did like fourteen shows
- 11:03Speaker 1: and seventeen days or something.
- 11:05Speaker 3: We had three days off.
- 11:06Speaker 1: We didn't fight once the whole way, like the whole trip,
- 11:10Speaker 1: until the last day when we're going into London and
- 11:13Speaker 1: we're fighting over like who was gonna have a shower first,
- 11:16Speaker 1: what we're gonna wear, what we're gonna wear out.
- 11:18Speaker 3: And so it was just like dumb stuff.
- 11:19Speaker 1: And I think part of it was because we were
- 11:20Speaker 1: tired and stupid, but I was like I had.
- 11:22Speaker 3: To, like calmasol down.
- 11:23Speaker 1: I was like, boys, we've literally got through this whole
- 11:25Speaker 1: tour with not one fight argument and we're arguing on
- 11:29Speaker 1: the last day before we fly out over where we're
- 11:31Speaker 1: going to eat tonight.
- 11:33Speaker 2: You know, so who got that first shower? Who won
- 11:36Speaker 2: that argument?
- 11:37Speaker 3: Oh? Bryce always wins.
- 11:39Speaker 2: You always don't done.
- 11:41Speaker 3: You should know that.
- 11:42Speaker 2: I should.
- 11:44Speaker 4: You mentioned your latest album Stars just before, and that
- 11:47Speaker 4: came out earlier last year made but that album is
- 11:49Speaker 4: a bit of a changing direction guys, like sonically.
- 11:52Speaker 2: And that issue.
- 11:54Speaker 4: I know at the time you're excited to see how
- 11:56Speaker 4: fans embrace the harder ridge, but we haven't a chance
- 11:59Speaker 4: to speak.
- 12:00Speaker 2: So how was the reception, Like the fans take you
- 12:03Speaker 2: hope they will?
- 12:05Speaker 1: Yeah, definitely, because obviously the singles we released prior to
- 12:09Speaker 1: the album were a bit more radio friendly songs. You know,
- 12:11Speaker 1: they're a bit more the you know, the more commercial songs,
- 12:14Speaker 1: I guess you could say. But the and the heavy
- 12:18Speaker 1: gems that were in on the album was sort of
- 12:20Speaker 1: what people's favorites were like United Obviously there was like
- 12:23Speaker 1: take You Away, Climbing out of Hell, like the bit
- 12:25Speaker 1: more heavier ones, and we're like, oh, that's that's kind
- 12:28Speaker 1: of cool. So yeah, we I mean, we never really
- 12:31Speaker 1: write an album in a way to be like, oh,
- 12:33Speaker 1: we're going to try and write an album like this whatever,
- 12:36Speaker 1: But I think having that feedback and seeing what what
- 12:39Speaker 1: people liked has sort of gone into our head for
- 12:41Speaker 1: the next album. So, you know, we we were just
- 12:44Speaker 1: shocked with how well it was received, and we do
- 12:47Speaker 1: feel like it was a step up from our last album,
- 12:49Speaker 1: which is good. So I think if we can keep
- 12:51Speaker 1: progressing like that as we go, like, we'll be very
- 12:54Speaker 1: proud of what we can achieve hopefully.
- 12:57Speaker 2: So the next album is gonna be thrash metal? Is it?
- 13:02Speaker 3: If I was at his weight heavy I put it
- 13:04Speaker 3: that way.
- 13:05Speaker 1: I'm probably the more the tame of one, so I
- 13:07Speaker 1: sort of bring it back a little bit. But yeah,
- 13:09Speaker 1: Austin has some great killer riffs there that we yeah,
- 13:11Speaker 1: we can't let go to waste.
- 13:12Speaker 4: So before you go, man, I'm not sure if I've
- 13:16Speaker 4: done this for or not, but because I had a
- 13:18Speaker 4: new section called photo bombs. So basically I've trod through
- 13:21Speaker 4: your social media before we've got a chat, and i'
- 13:22Speaker 4: found a couple of photos I and know a little
- 13:25Speaker 4: bit more about.
- 13:26Speaker 2: Okay, first one.
- 13:32Speaker 4: Fun it's it's nothing new for fans to get band chattoos, mate,
- 13:36Speaker 4: but how does it.
- 13:37Speaker 2: Get from your perspective? See that kind of atulation.
- 13:42Speaker 1: Oh, it's amazing in that particular tatoo, Like just the
- 13:44Speaker 1: detail to know that someone's put that on there, you know,
- 13:49Speaker 1: on their body forever, Like it's just it's an amazing
- 13:53Speaker 1: feeling like I never thought in a million years, you know,
- 13:56Speaker 1: anyone would get any sort of tattoo of myself or anything.
- 14:00Speaker 1: But to have something we created, like from a small
- 14:03Speaker 1: town in w A and someone to get something that
- 14:05Speaker 1: be like, you know, obviously something little, you know, it's cool,
- 14:07Speaker 1: but to go that big on your body to represent
- 14:10Speaker 1: a band that you know, we always just think it's
- 14:13Speaker 1: just amazing.
- 14:14Speaker 3: It's crazy. There's no words.
- 14:17Speaker 4: Do you remember the first time you ever saw someone
- 14:19Speaker 4: who one of your chattoos?
- 14:20Speaker 2: I did?
- 14:21Speaker 4: Did you feel violated because they had you on their
- 14:23Speaker 4: body or was it sort of feeling was it?
- 14:27Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 14:27Speaker 1: Well, one guy Boris, his name is his from New
- 14:30Speaker 1: South Wales. He got one of the first ones, but
- 14:32Speaker 1: he got like a clown. It was like a clown
- 14:34Speaker 1: inspired by us, a like sort of this evil clown
- 14:37Speaker 1: and it had the name and we're like, oh wow,
- 14:39Speaker 1: that is so cool. We got a picture with him
- 14:41Speaker 1: on the day and then he goes, can you all
- 14:42Speaker 1: sign it for us? And we're like, yeah, no worries,
- 14:44Speaker 1: we'll sign it. And then we saw him like a
- 14:46Speaker 1: couple of months later and he'd actually got our signatures tattooed,
- 14:49Speaker 1: so that was that was a real spin off, like
- 14:52Speaker 1: to do our signature, like to do it draw your
- 14:55Speaker 1: signature and then yeah, and then there's another girl that
- 14:58Speaker 1: got us to draw, Like I drew.
- 15:00Speaker 3: Something for her on her arm. She goes, can you
- 15:02Speaker 3: draw me something on my arm? And I don't. I
- 15:03Speaker 3: didn't even know what I drew. It was just like
- 15:05Speaker 3: sister's dog. Wasn't even anything great. And then the next
- 15:08Speaker 3: show she comes up and she's like, look I got
- 15:10Speaker 3: it tatooed.
- 15:10Speaker 1: And I'm like, oh, I would have drawn something cooler
- 15:12Speaker 1: or you know, but it's amazing.
- 15:15Speaker 3: Yeah what people do, but it's flattering.
- 15:19Speaker 2: It would be man'd be fucking, it'd be weird, but
- 15:21Speaker 2: it'd be flattering.
- 15:23Speaker 4: Yeah, all right, Now the next photo I got, it's
- 15:26Speaker 4: a beautiful photo of a beautiful person. And tell us
- 15:30Speaker 4: about this day and what last fluence had left on
- 15:34Speaker 4: your life.
- 15:37Speaker 1: Oh yeah, last year was so sad, like the last
- 15:40Speaker 1: couple of months. Just yeah, him passing hit me harder
- 15:44Speaker 1: than I harder than I thought it would, to be honest,
- 15:47Speaker 1: because Ace from a little kid, he was my hero,
- 15:49Speaker 1: like I loved him from a young age. And in
- 15:52Speaker 1: this particular photo, it wasn't planned. They just said because
- 15:56Speaker 1: we I got asked to play that they did, like
- 15:59Speaker 1: the kiss unplugs at this Nashville show, and they said
- 16:02Speaker 1: learn all the songs you know, and then on the
- 16:04Speaker 1: day they like, Ace may come down and play two
- 16:06Speaker 1: thousand and Man with everyone, but it's not confirmed, but
- 16:09Speaker 1: he may, and I'm like, oh, wow, that's very cool.
- 16:12Speaker 1: And I was just close for asking Austin to do
- 16:14Speaker 1: I was Austin John to do it because I was
- 16:15Speaker 1: like sort of panicking a bit, but he goes, nah.
- 16:18Speaker 3: You have to do it, like Aces, You're a hero,
- 16:20Speaker 3: you have to do it.
- 16:21Speaker 1: And I was like, oh, all right, I'll do it.
- 16:23Speaker 1: And so I got to play yeah, two thousand Man
- 16:26Speaker 1: with Ace Ace freely, which was just like incredible, And
- 16:29Speaker 1: it was a full circle moment because the first memory
- 16:33Speaker 1: I have of music as a kid, like I would
- 16:35Speaker 1: have been probably three or four, maybe even a bit younger.
- 16:37Speaker 1: And I don't know how I remember this, Like I
- 16:39Speaker 1: can't even remember what I did yesterday, but I can
- 16:41Speaker 1: remember things way back when it's weird, but I remember
- 16:45Speaker 1: playing the drums to two thousand and Man to the
- 16:47Speaker 1: MTV Unplugged video that Dad had the VHS, and I
- 16:52Speaker 1: always resonated with that song and Ace and just that
- 16:55Speaker 1: particular clip, so to do like you know, however long
- 16:59Speaker 1: at thirty years. I'm like sitting on stage with him
- 17:03Speaker 1: and I fist pumped him as he came out and
- 17:04Speaker 1: we there was no rehearsal or anything.
- 17:06Speaker 3: Was just just play it.
- 17:08Speaker 1: And it wasn't the most perfect performance, but to say
- 17:11Speaker 1: I got to perform with one of my heroes is yeah,
- 17:14Speaker 1: is mind boggling and something that.
- 17:15Speaker 3: Old cherish forever.
- 17:17Speaker 2: Did he sing it? Or did you sing it?
- 17:20Speaker 3: He sang, We just did backups.
- 17:21Speaker 4: Yeah, that's I've got goosebumps man's yeah. Yeah.
- 17:28Speaker 1: Even an old schoolmate I remember at the time because
- 17:31Speaker 1: he knew how much I loved it. He's one of
- 17:32Speaker 1: my old friends from like primary school, high school messaged me.
- 17:36Speaker 3: He goes, I just saw that pitchure.
- 17:38Speaker 1: He goes, holy crap, Like that's like yeah, he was
- 17:41Speaker 1: like because he knew how much Ace meant to me.
- 17:44Speaker 3: So yeah, it was very cool.
- 17:46Speaker 2: Got to go out and get a tattoo of him, now, yeah,
- 17:49Speaker 2: I do.
- 17:50Speaker 3: Actually, that's that is on the cards, to be honest.
- 17:54Speaker 2: You're right, venerable. Always a pleasure speaking with you mates.
- 17:56Speaker 4: This Soul are out on the road starting January thirty
- 17:59Speaker 4: first in Melbourne. So where's the best place for people
- 18:01Speaker 4: to go and get you out more.

- 18:07Speaker 1: which is Sisters Dole band dot com.
