- 0:02Speaker 1: This is am I the problem.
- 0:05Speaker 2: It's me.
- 0:06Speaker 3: Hi, the problem is me.
- 0:09Speaker 4: We'll hear one side of the story and with your
- 0:12Speaker 4: help probably decide if it's right or if maybe you're
- 0:17Speaker 4: the problem.
- 0:18Speaker 1: That's right, I am the problem.
- 0:20Speaker 2: On Big ninety eight point seven, we've got a Mother's
- 0:24Speaker 2: Day dilemma.
- 0:25Speaker 3: Hi gave an Angie. This is Tyler.
- 0:27Speaker 2: I'm stressed out about Mother's Day because this is the
- 0:30Speaker 2: first one since my wife and I welcomed our baby
- 0:33Speaker 2: girl last September.
- 0:35Speaker 3: My beautiful wife, oh, he knows what he's doing.
- 0:37Speaker 2: My beautiful wife got a boy dad wants a whole
- 0:40Speaker 2: day with me to celebrate while her sister watches the baby.
- 0:44Speaker 2: She is the fun aunt who doesn't have kids and
- 0:46Speaker 2: offered to do this for us. But I'm an only
- 0:49Speaker 2: child and my mom expects me to spend the day
- 0:52Speaker 2: with her. I hate to say it, but my wife
- 0:55Speaker 2: and my mother don't get along, so it wouldn't be
- 0:58Speaker 2: a good Mother's Day for us either of them to
- 1:01Speaker 2: have to spend it together.
- 1:03Speaker 3: That's not an option.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Who do I choose, oh, brother, this situation stays. I
- 1:13Speaker 2: think you choose your wife, My guy, I think you
- 1:15Speaker 2: choose your wife, and I feel like, maybe there are
- 1:18Speaker 2: people listening, why don't you split the day as someone
- 1:21Speaker 2: who is a mom. I don't want to split the day.
- 1:25Speaker 2: I don't want to have to split that. I want
- 1:27Speaker 2: Mother's Day to be all about me as the mom.
- 1:29Speaker 2: And if I am the mother of your children, you
- 1:32Speaker 2: should cater to me. Your mom had a bajillion Mother's
- 1:38Speaker 2: Days with you, and you should cater now to.
- 1:42Speaker 3: The mother of your child.
- 1:43Speaker 2: Especially this is the first Mother's Day, the first Mother's
- 1:46Speaker 2: Day since she gave birth, and that.
- 1:49Speaker 3: Baby can't do anything for her mother a Mother's Day.
- 1:52Speaker 2: Yet exactly, no, you have to Your wife specifically wanted
- 1:57Speaker 2: a day with you to celebrate and to get away
- 2:01Speaker 2: from the baby that made her a mother. And I
- 2:03Speaker 2: get that. I'm that mom that I want to break
- 2:05Speaker 2: on Mother's Day. I feel like you got to cater
- 2:08Speaker 2: to your wife here, and I feel bad because you
- 2:11Speaker 2: are an only child, and that means like, if you're
- 2:14Speaker 2: not with your mom on Mother's Day, she has no
- 2:16Speaker 2: other child to be with her. But like, I don't know,
- 2:18Speaker 2: where's your dad. Can't he be like thanks for making
- 2:20Speaker 2: me a dad?
- 2:22Speaker 3: Like I don't know. I think he just has to
- 2:24Speaker 3: pick his wife. So that's who you pick. Follow only
- 2:28Speaker 3: my advice, Tyler. No, Gabe, what do you think?
- 2:31Speaker 5: I'll tell you right now. I feel bad for our guy, Tyler.
- 2:35Speaker 5: I feel bad for him. There are neither of them
- 2:39Speaker 5: willing to kind of compromise something that sick.
- 2:42Speaker 2: I don't think they should have to because it's Mother's Day,
- 2:45Speaker 2: so one has to miss out completely, right. I think
- 2:50Speaker 2: maybe you got to split it into Mother's Day gets,
- 2:56Speaker 2: But then it's like who gets Saturday? Who gets Sunday?
- 3:00Speaker 1: Okay, I'll tell you right now.
- 3:01Speaker 5: The one you like more, the one who texted you
- 3:04Speaker 5: last and checked in, That's who gets Sunday?
- 3:07Speaker 1: What very simple?
- 3:08Speaker 2: Seven one nine eight seven call us text us. We
- 3:12Speaker 2: also have this up on the big ninety eight points
- 3:14Speaker 2: up in Facebook page. Who does Tyler choose? I think
- 3:18Speaker 2: I think it's gotta be your wifie, Tyler.
- 3:22Speaker 5: It depends on how afraid of your wife you are?
- 3:24Speaker 5: Is kind of mine. There's that son working its way
- 3:33Speaker 5: on out, Angie.
- 3:33Speaker 1: I like that.
- 3:34Speaker 3: It's beautiful, not so beautiful.
- 3:36Speaker 2: The dilemma that Tyler's in, so he needs to know
- 3:40Speaker 2: who does he choose to spend time with on Mother's Day?
- 3:43Speaker 3: His own mother? He is an only child, or his wife.
- 3:48Speaker 2: Who has their first baby. This will be their first
- 3:52Speaker 2: Mother's Day.
- 3:53Speaker 3: Since the baby is born.
- 3:55Speaker 2: Now we can't have them spend it all together because
- 3:58Speaker 2: his wifey and his mom don't get along. So he's
- 4:01Speaker 2: got to make a choice. What do you think Tyler
- 4:04Speaker 2: should do? I think he should go with his baby mama. Okay,
- 4:09Speaker 2: I think that he's.
- 4:10Speaker 3: Married to her. This is her first baby.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Just do that.
- 4:15Speaker 3: Just do that. I know I think your mom will
- 4:17Speaker 3: be mad. But also she had several Mother's Days already.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Yeah, he can skip.
- 4:22Speaker 5: What if it was maybe your wife's fourth Mother's Day,
- 4:26Speaker 5: Maybe there's a little lead.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Way good day.
- 4:29Speaker 5: Yeah, but like, your wife doesn't have to like you,
- 4:33Speaker 5: she chooses to write your mom's gotta like you.
- 4:35Speaker 1: That's just you know what I'm saying.
- 4:37Speaker 5: Like, I like that your mother will never not care
- 4:40Speaker 5: about you, and your wife could wake up one day
- 4:43Speaker 5: and go, eh, I'm done with this.
- 4:44Speaker 2: I'm gonna leave you.
- 4:45Speaker 1: Yeah, your mom can't leave you.
- 4:48Speaker 3: That's true.
- 4:49Speaker 5: So happy wife, happy life is pretty good advice.
- 4:52Speaker 1: Ah.
- 4:52Speaker 2: We did post this on the Big ninety eight Points
- 4:54Speaker 2: I'm on Facebook page. Carrie said I would spend most
- 4:57Speaker 2: of the day with your wife, but maybe stop by
- 4:59Speaker 2: your mom's for bit or have a meal with her. Yeah,
- 5:03Speaker 2: maybe he could sneak off Like she's a new mom.
- 5:06Speaker 2: The baby was born in September, she hasn't been sleeping.
- 5:08Speaker 2: Wait until your wife falls asleep for a nap and
- 5:11Speaker 2: then drive over to mom's.
- 5:13Speaker 5: Real just go out for milk and cigarettes. And you
- 5:16Speaker 5: know what's that saying.
- 5:19Speaker 2: Isn't it if you just go out for milk and
- 5:20Speaker 2: then come back, That's what it is.
- 5:22Speaker 3: Dou blow up your whole life.
- 5:23Speaker 2: Tyler Nikki said, Mother's Day lunch with your wife and
- 5:26Speaker 2: Mother's Day supper with your mom.
- 5:29Speaker 3: I feel like I would be mad, Like, don't split
- 5:32Speaker 3: the day.
- 5:33Speaker 5: Yeah, I feel like it's an overwhelming Uh, you go
- 5:35Speaker 5: with the mother of your child.
- 5:38Speaker 2: Oh, Britney said, the family you made should always come first,
- 5:43Speaker 2: whether it's her first Mother's Day as a mom or
- 5:46Speaker 2: her twentieth. You your mother should understand that.
- 5:51Speaker 1: I don't agree with that.
- 5:52Speaker 5: You don't by the twentieth your this sounds horrible and
- 5:55Speaker 5: it's gonna get a little bit dark. But by the
- 5:57Speaker 5: twentieth that means your mom has a lot less left.
- 6:01Speaker 5: I can understand why you'd be like, you know what
- 6:04Speaker 5: we have done nineteen of these. I've done every single
- 6:06Speaker 5: thing you've asked me. I've brought the kids to daycare.
- 6:08Speaker 5: I brought them to the park for five hours this year,
- 6:11Speaker 5: I'm gonna go see my mom.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Okay, that's an argument I think you could win.
- 6:14Speaker 2: Listen to Tracy's take, putting his mother to work, spend
- 6:19Speaker 2: the day with your wife and let the mom watch
- 6:22Speaker 2: the grandkid since it would be her only grandchild.
- 6:26Speaker 3: If he's the only child.
- 6:27Speaker 1: That trains me.
- 6:28Speaker 2: Laugh.
- 6:29Speaker 3: But that is true.
- 6:30Speaker 2: I mean, in reality, once the grand babies are involved,
- 6:33Speaker 2: your parents don't care that.
- 6:35Speaker 1: Much about you. Oh yeah, you shrink to the bottom.
- 6:37Speaker 5: I'm trying to enjoy the last handful of months before
- 6:40Speaker 5: my parents have their first grandkid.
- 6:42Speaker 1: And yeah, I'm worthless at that point to me.
- 6:44Speaker 3: Yeah, and you already are a middle child.
- 6:46Speaker 1: I already got a lot of adversity I gotta go through.
- 6:48Speaker 3: Yeah, what do you think?
- 6:49Speaker 2: Let us know your thoughts? Seven oh one two, eight
- 6:52Speaker 2: oh one, nine eight seven. Who does Tyler choose to
- 6:55Speaker 2: spend Mother's Day with the mother of his child or
- 6:58Speaker 2: the mother that.
- 6:59Speaker 5: Birthed I have one more for you, Angie. The wise
- 7:01Speaker 5: words of David on our Facebook page. Tyler, look in
- 7:05Speaker 5: the mirror and ask yourself, am I a mama's boy?
- 7:08Speaker 5: Or am I a husband? And when you put it
- 7:10Speaker 5: like that, that really does kind of hitch in the field.
- 7:13Speaker 1: I like that.
- 7:17Speaker 4: Celebrating life's little victories. Every morning. We practice gratitude on
- 7:22Speaker 4: Big ninety eight point seven.
- 7:24Speaker 1: If I could, I would keep this dealing in a
- 7:26Speaker 1: plastic job busted out when it was someone's acting hard.
- 7:30Speaker 4: Share your little victories with us at seven oh one
- 7:32Speaker 4: two eight oho one ninety eight seven.
- 7:35Speaker 1: Kids, I also needed to win that day, Angie. Do
- 7:39Speaker 1: you have a little victory for us today?
- 7:41Speaker 2: My goal for twenty twenty six and beyond is to
- 7:45Speaker 2: get a lot of sleep nightly. And yesterday, for the
- 7:48Speaker 2: first time in like a week.
- 7:50Speaker 1: I got over eight hours.
- 7:54Speaker 2: Wowly, Yes, I feel so refreshed and happy. And the truth,
- 8:00Speaker 2: as a woman, we kind of need more like ten
- 8:02Speaker 2: hours of sleep. Well, I got kids, I got a
- 8:06Speaker 2: job that starts so early. I'm lucky to get over
- 8:10Speaker 2: eight hours. So it is a victory and I'm celebrating.
- 8:13Speaker 5: Well, congratulations to you. And this is the second day
- 8:16Speaker 5: in a row. I swear to God you this is
- 8:17Speaker 5: not on purpose. This is not a bit. This is
- 8:20Speaker 5: the second day in a row where our victories are
- 8:22Speaker 5: very similar. We had a sandwich victory yesterday. Yes, that
- 8:25Speaker 5: was not planned, not rehearsed. No, I am not kidding you.
- 8:29Speaker 5: Last night I laid down and you know, shut off
- 8:31Speaker 5: all the lights, put on my Harry Potter audio book,
- 8:35Speaker 5: and it was nine fifty two and I said, oh,
- 8:38Speaker 5: before ten, I gotta use this as a little victory tomorrow.
- 8:41Speaker 5: So now I feel kind of stupid using it.
- 8:43Speaker 2: No, but good sleep is a great way to kick
- 8:46Speaker 2: off a Friday.
- 8:47Speaker 1: Yeah, you're I mean at the victory it.
- 8:49Speaker 5: Yes, if you don't know this about me, I spent
- 8:52Speaker 5: I am up probably way later than I should be
- 8:54Speaker 5: for someone who asked to get up as early as
- 8:56Speaker 5: we get up here. Yeah, I never, and I mean never,
- 9:00Speaker 5: am really sleeping before ten. I might be laying there,
- 9:03Speaker 5: but I'm never sleeping. Yeah, I'm pretty sure I was
- 9:06Speaker 5: asleep before ten o'clock last night.
- 9:08Speaker 3: I love that for you, man.
- 9:09Speaker 1: It's gonna be a good day today.
- 9:10Speaker 5: On the way, we've got Ella Langley. We have the
- 9:12Speaker 5: tea coming up as well here on Big ninety eight
- 9:14Speaker 5: point seven, and this past weekend at baby shower or
- 9:25Speaker 5: we did more of like a Kegs and diapers get
- 9:27Speaker 5: together for my buddies and I, oh, my gosh, that's.
- 9:30Speaker 3: A cute name for it, Keggs and diapers. Yeah, we'll
- 9:32Speaker 3: probably starting a trend.
- 9:33Speaker 5: Well, we could probably work on that and come up
- 9:35Speaker 5: with something a little better now.
- 9:36Speaker 2: I like kegs and diapers. It's to the point and
- 9:39Speaker 2: reminds me of dudes.
- 9:40Speaker 1: Yeah, they're true. Well, a great friend of mine, his
- 9:43Speaker 1: name is Tyler.
- 9:43Speaker 5: He's getting married in October and I will be a
- 9:46Speaker 5: groomsman in that wedding, and we were kind of talking
- 9:49Speaker 5: about it. I was like, oh, man, I think I'm
- 9:51Speaker 5: kind of getting to the end of my being in weddings.
- 9:55Speaker 3: Run all your friend's gonna be done getting.
- 9:58Speaker 5: There's like a couple that are left that I might,
- 10:01Speaker 5: you know, get to participate in.
- 10:03Speaker 1: But I'm kind of at the end of the run.
- 10:05Speaker 5: Now I've kind of advanced onto the old kid get together's.
- 10:09Speaker 3: Deal right right, you'll be doing play dates.
- 10:12Speaker 1: Yeah, that's kind of my next chapter here.
- 10:14Speaker 5: And it got me thinking, man, I might never be
- 10:17Speaker 5: in a wedding again.
- 10:18Speaker 1: I'm kind of bummed out. I've been in a lot
- 10:20Speaker 1: of weddings.
- 10:20Speaker 5: I'm very very lucky, and I've gotten to participate in
- 10:23Speaker 5: a ton of my buddies and their wives getting together
- 10:26Speaker 5: for a very very important day. And it's been a blast,
- 10:28Speaker 5: and I'm kind of sad my run will be over.
- 10:31Speaker 5: So I wanted to know what is your favorite part
- 10:34Speaker 5: about either A being in a wedding or b just
- 10:37Speaker 5: a tending one. Sometimes just attending it's even better. You
- 10:40Speaker 5: don't have to stay there super long, you don't have
- 10:42Speaker 5: to be there super early. You can party till your
- 10:44Speaker 5: heart's content and then you leave. When you're in it,
- 10:47Speaker 5: you always have something you gotta do, something you got with,
- 10:50Speaker 5: so you know, depending on how you feel about that,
- 10:52Speaker 5: sometimes just going to a wedding is a ton of fun.
- 10:55Speaker 2: I live for a wedding. I am a hopeless romantic
- 11:00Speaker 2: and nothing brings me more joy than witnessing people celebrate
- 11:04Speaker 2: their love and tying the knot.
- 11:06Speaker 3: It's my favorite.
- 11:07Speaker 2: I have been a bridesmaid a couple of times in
- 11:10Speaker 2: my life, and yeah, quite literally a couple and both
- 11:14Speaker 2: times they were very low maintenance bribes sure, so it
- 11:18Speaker 2: was very nice to just attend, stand up there, be
- 11:21Speaker 2: in the dress and they picked nice dresses.
- 11:24Speaker 4: You know.
- 11:24Speaker 2: The thing a bride always says is and the great
- 11:26Speaker 2: thing is you can wear it again. One of them
- 11:29Speaker 2: absolutely not.
- 11:30Speaker 3: But the last one thing I went to I can
- 11:32Speaker 3: wear that dress again, which I like. But then after
- 11:34Speaker 3: that it.
- 11:35Speaker 2: Was so easy, peasy, and I just got to enjoy
- 11:36Speaker 2: the wedding. And I think the best part is probably drinking.
- 11:44Speaker 5: Drinking at a wedding, there is something to it, you know,
- 11:47Speaker 5: when you break down what we are supposed to be
- 11:50Speaker 5: drinking for, it is to celebrate this. Yes, Now, when
- 11:53Speaker 5: you're stretching the line of what you're trying to celebrate,
- 11:56Speaker 5: you know, that's when maybe you get to a problem.
- 11:58Speaker 5: What if you're drinking at a wedding and everyone is
- 12:01Speaker 5: happy and there's love.
- 12:02Speaker 1: In the air.
- 12:03Speaker 5: You are right, there is something awesome about the adrenaline
- 12:06Speaker 5: and the buzz at the same time.
- 12:08Speaker 2: It's one lovely We're going to a wedding in August,
- 12:13Speaker 2: you and I together. A listener invited us. That's right,
- 12:16Speaker 2: So I'm excited for that. I think the other thing
- 12:18Speaker 2: I really love is like dancing on the day. I'm
- 12:22Speaker 2: not the best dancer, but if I've been drinking at
- 12:25Speaker 2: a wedding, I will bust out the worm. That's like
- 12:28Speaker 2: my party trick. Oh yeah, and that's what I do
- 12:31Speaker 2: on the dance floor at weddings. So yeah, I would
- 12:33Speaker 2: say doing the worm and drinking those are my two.
- 12:35Speaker 5: Well, we do have Amelia on the phone. Amelia, what's
- 12:39Speaker 5: your favorite part of attending a wedding?
- 12:40Speaker 2: It's the open bar.
- 12:41Speaker 3: I'm not even going to pretend otherwise.
- 12:43Speaker 1: So it's just something about drinking champagne that you didn't
- 12:46Speaker 1: pay for that just hits differently. And then I become
- 12:49Speaker 1: best friends with strangers by cocktail number two.
- 12:51Speaker 5: It is I swear I was going to tell you
- 12:53Speaker 5: the same thing. One of my favorite parts about being
- 12:55Speaker 5: a wedding is or being at a wedding, And when
- 12:58Speaker 5: you're in it, it's a little bit differ because you
- 13:01Speaker 5: just kind of form this camaraderie with the boys. Yeah
- 13:06Speaker 5: that that is a ton of fun. But it is
- 13:08Speaker 5: really cool when you get to meet if you're if
- 13:11Speaker 5: you haven't, you know, you get to meet a bunch
- 13:13Speaker 5: of this one person's family that ye.
- 13:16Speaker 2: Well, yeah, there's always even if you know both you
- 13:19Speaker 2: know both parties, there's always a relative or you know
- 13:22Speaker 2: a friend from childhood that you didn't know before then.
- 13:26Speaker 2: And because you're all celebrating the same person, you bond
- 13:30Speaker 2: and I think that's sort of beautiful.
- 13:32Speaker 5: And you've likely heard stories about like, oh, yeah, wait
- 13:35Speaker 5: till you meet my uncle Ryan.
- 13:36Speaker 3: Yeah, and then you meet uncle Ryan.
- 13:38Speaker 5: Right, that's exactly right. And we do have Alex Alex.
- 13:42Speaker 5: What about you?
- 13:42Speaker 1: Man? Oh, it's the cocktail hour. I mean, that's the
- 13:44Speaker 1: best part of the whole thing, so dancing. There's no
- 13:46Speaker 1: wait for food, just aw some more jurors and booze.
- 13:50Speaker 1: Like the whole wedding should be a cocktail hour.
- 13:52Speaker 5: I think, I think, I think we've come to one
- 13:54Speaker 5: common theme here, Angie.
- 13:56Speaker 3: We love the beverages.
- 14:04Speaker 1: We need you to fill in the blank.
- 14:05Speaker 5: Mom always said, And I would be willing to bet
- 14:09Speaker 5: that there is something that just popped into your head.
- 14:12Speaker 5: All right, seven oh one two eight zero one nine
- 14:15Speaker 5: eight seven. Mother's Day obviously on Sunday, and we're gonna
- 14:20Speaker 5: celebrate Mom by remembering all the wise words she told
- 14:23Speaker 5: us while we were growing up. Angie, did you have
- 14:26Speaker 5: something that your mother always said? Was there be honest
- 14:29Speaker 5: with me? Was there something really cool? In Spanish?
- 14:30Speaker 1: She would say you all the time.
- 14:32Speaker 3: Uh, she you know what. The thing that I remember
- 14:36Speaker 3: most was.
- 14:39Speaker 2: Peligro, and it was if you avoid the situation, you
- 14:42Speaker 2: avoid the danger.
- 14:43Speaker 3: That was her favorite thing.
- 14:44Speaker 2: When she's dead and gone in like one hundred years,
- 14:47Speaker 2: because my mom will never die.
- 14:48Speaker 1: That's right.
- 14:50Speaker 3: That is what I will always remember that and that
- 14:53Speaker 3: she would say.
- 14:55Speaker 5: And we have got a lot of messages of people
- 14:57Speaker 5: who love when Angie does her mother's impression. Oh yeah,
- 15:01Speaker 5: if you could do us, if you could oblige us
- 15:03Speaker 5: with doing your best mom here, that would be wonderful.
- 15:08Speaker 1: When all.
- 15:11Speaker 2: On alia, which means everybody get out the car, no
- 15:15Speaker 2: one's going. And that's like a saying that she would
- 15:18Speaker 2: use when you know, you make plans and then a
- 15:21Speaker 2: wrench gets thrown in the plane and it ruins everything, then.
- 15:24Speaker 3: It's like, everybody out the car, no one's going. That's
- 15:31Speaker 3: always what I think of. That's what my mom always says.
- 15:35Speaker 5: I love that my mother was a big fan of
- 15:38Speaker 5: because I said so, oh yeah, classic, because I my
- 15:42Speaker 5: father made a bad choice one day when I was young.
- 15:45Speaker 5: I was in like first or second grade, and he
- 15:48Speaker 5: was trying to explain to me that just because someone
- 15:51Speaker 5: tells you to do something doesn't mean you have to
- 15:53Speaker 5: do it.
- 15:54Speaker 1: It was more of like a It was kind of
- 15:56Speaker 1: like it.
- 15:57Speaker 3: Was not meant to be applied to mom.
- 15:59Speaker 1: No, it wasn't.
- 16:00Speaker 5: It was kind of more like a Hey, when you're
- 16:01Speaker 5: a kid and a teacher tells you to do something
- 16:03Speaker 5: and you don't really understand why you're doing it, ask
- 16:06Speaker 5: him why do we need to do this?
- 16:07Speaker 1: In a sense of why am I learning this?
- 16:09Speaker 4: One?
- 16:09Speaker 3: Does this helped me with critical thinking skills?
- 16:11Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 16:11Speaker 3: Correct?
- 16:12Speaker 5: And the problem with that was I turned that into well,
- 16:15Speaker 5: I am now asking every single adult for the next
- 16:18Speaker 5: week and a half, Yeah, why do you want me
- 16:20Speaker 5: to do this? And sadly that did also apply to
- 16:23Speaker 5: mom when I was seven years old, and my mom.
- 16:25Speaker 1: Went with the age old classic well because I said so,
- 16:28Speaker 1: I like that, though I use that. How do you
- 16:31Speaker 1: come back from that when you're seven? You can't.
- 16:33Speaker 3: You just have to do the thing. We did, But
- 16:37Speaker 3: we did said no, you're fine.
- 16:38Speaker 2: We did post this on the Big ninety eight point
- 16:40Speaker 2: seven facebook page.
- 16:42Speaker 3: We had some really good ones. I like this one.
- 16:45Speaker 2: Barb said, happy are those who expect nothing for you
- 16:49Speaker 2: shall not be disappointed.
- 16:51Speaker 3: I like that. That's a good mom?
- 16:53Speaker 1: Is them? You think so? Yeah, kind of makes me sad.
- 16:56Speaker 2: I I always say aim low to avoid disappointment.
- 17:01Speaker 3: I feel like that's in the same vein.
- 17:03Speaker 2: But yeah, if you don't expect anything, then you won't
- 17:05Speaker 2: be disappointed.
- 17:06Speaker 3: You'll just always be pleasantly surprised.
- 17:08Speaker 5: Yeah, what about no jumping in the house. That is
- 17:12Speaker 5: from Joshua. That actually sounds like a certain quote from
- 17:16Speaker 5: someone on a show called The Brady Bunch, if you
- 17:18Speaker 5: remember that.
- 17:19Speaker 1: Do you remember this, Angie? Did you ever hear this?
- 17:21Speaker 1: She always says, don't?
- 17:23Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, yes, that was I well, I was
- 17:27Speaker 2: too young for the original run of The Brady Bunch,
- 17:30Speaker 2: but Nick at Knight had in my back. So I've
- 17:32Speaker 2: seen that episode a million times. And that's when they
- 17:35Speaker 2: threw the ball and they broke the vase. Mom always said,
- 17:37Speaker 2: don't play ball in the house.
- 17:39Speaker 5: And I hope I'm saying this right, but I think
- 17:42Speaker 5: it's shega shega s h e g A. And this
- 17:46Speaker 5: is from Connie. She said it's it's Brazilian Portuguese for
- 17:50Speaker 5: enough enough. She always said it when I put too
- 17:53Speaker 5: much sugar on my cereal.
- 17:55Speaker 1: Oh I like.
- 17:55Speaker 3: Thatga shega, I love that.
- 17:58Speaker 1: Share. Your favorite mom is a mess.
- 18:00Speaker 5: We're gonna celebrate mom on Mother's Day obviously, and all
- 18:03Speaker 5: weekend here with Big ninety eight point seven. Share some
- 18:05Speaker 5: of those momisms. It's always kind of fun to take
- 18:08Speaker 5: a trip down memory lane and remember, ma'am my mom.
- 18:10Speaker 1: Used to always say. She always used to say to
- 18:12Speaker 1: me too.
- 18:12Speaker 5: You know if your friends jumped off a bridge, would
- 18:14Speaker 5: you jump to And me, being the smart aleck, yeah
- 18:18Speaker 5: that I was, I'd be like, well if it was fun,
- 18:20Speaker 5: Oh my gosh, you're the worst night.

- 20:08Speaker 5: just a couple of days away if we didn't celebrate
- 20:11Speaker 5: mom here on Big ninety eight point seven. Obviously, if
- 20:14Speaker 5: you are a mom, we wish you a happy Mother's Day.
- 20:18Speaker 5: I gotta wish ang a happy Mother's Day. Yeah I
- 20:21Speaker 5: am yeah right. We might forget that from time to time.
- 20:24Speaker 5: Happy Mother's Day to Angie, and of course a happy
- 20:27Speaker 5: Mother's Day to my own mother, who was the best.
- 20:30Speaker 5: I told this story very quickly on the Big ninety
- 20:33Speaker 5: eight point seven Facebook page. I will never forget In
- 20:36Speaker 5: when I got to sixth grade middle school, right the
- 20:39Speaker 5: school would let the kids on the last day go
- 20:42Speaker 5: to Valley Fairy, which is like an amusement park kind
- 20:47Speaker 5: of near the cities. And when I got to so
- 20:49Speaker 5: I had to watch my older brother go to Valley
- 20:51Speaker 5: Fair on the last day of school. I'm going to
- 20:52Speaker 5: the last day of school in elementary school. Well, when
- 20:55Speaker 5: I get to sixth grade did they quit doing that?
- 20:57Speaker 5: And my mother did not love that and think it
- 21:00Speaker 5: was very fair. So on the last day of school
- 21:02Speaker 5: she took me out and brought me to Valley Fair
- 21:05Speaker 5: and I will never forget that. It was that's really sweet,
- 21:07Speaker 5: one of the coolest things of all time. And then
- 21:10Speaker 5: a bunch of other kids were like, what the heck
- 21:11Speaker 5: you get to go to Valley Fair? I said, well,
- 21:13Speaker 5: because I got that. Mom, Yeah, you're the goat.
- 21:16Speaker 2: I want to give a big shout out to my mom,
- 21:19Speaker 2: who a single mom of four kids, and there was
- 21:23Speaker 2: not a single sacrifice that she didn't make to make
- 21:26Speaker 2: sure that we were happy and clothed and fed and
- 21:29Speaker 2: had everything we needed to chase our dreams.
- 21:33Speaker 3: I could not ask for a better mom. Oh, I'm
- 21:36Speaker 3: so emotional. I miss her.
- 21:40Speaker 2: I could not ask for a better mom. I love
- 21:42Speaker 2: her so much and I just miss her. And wow,
- 21:47Speaker 2: just happy Mother's Day. Happy Mother's Day to my mom
- 21:50Speaker 2: and to all the amazing moms.
- 21:51Speaker 1: Out there, that's right.
- 21:53Speaker 5: And then my wife, Corey, who is seven eight months
- 21:57Speaker 5: pregnant somewhere right around there. Yeah, I get close the
- 22:00Speaker 5: finish line. So whether you count it technically, I count
- 22:04Speaker 5: it or not. Yeah, you know, we haven't obviously birthed
- 22:06Speaker 5: the thing yet.
- 22:07Speaker 3: No, that's okay.
- 22:08Speaker 2: Happy Mother's Day to Corey because she has already sacrificed
- 22:13Speaker 2: her body for that baby for the last seven months,
- 22:17Speaker 2: and being pregnant that is quite literally a parasitic relationship.
- 22:21Speaker 3: The baby drains everything from me.
- 22:23Speaker 1: That's right.
- 22:23Speaker 2: But you're happy to do it because you love your
- 22:26Speaker 2: baby from jump. So Happy Mother's Day to Corey Gliddon.
- 22:29Speaker 2: You deserve all the things.
- 22:30Speaker 5: She's never got to hear that before, I know, other
- 22:33Speaker 5: than maybe maybe like two months down the road. When
- 22:36Speaker 5: it's you know, dogs, Mother's Day, so happy Mom's Dates,
- 22:40Speaker 5: all the moms. We hope you have a wonderful day
- 22:42Speaker 5: and it's either full of silence or all the excitement
- 22:47Speaker 5: that you wanted to be killed with broken crayons, they
- 22:50Speaker 5: still color and the world is full of nice people.
- 22:52Speaker 5: If you can't find one, you gotta be one.
