- 0:03Community is unfolding for you.

- 0:10What you desire is desiring you.
- 0:13And you are so whole and you are so loved
- 0:15and you are so precious and divine and we need you as you are
- 0:18and we also need you in your true and in your power.
- 0:22You've lived the story, you've lived for a reason,
- 0:24the stories you've lived, let me not reduce you.
- 0:27You are irreducible, you are divine
- 0:29and you are forever part of the collective
- 0:31and the collective is forever part of you.
- 0:35Hello, divine being.
- 0:37Hello, soul sibling.
- 0:38Hello, sunshine.
- 0:40Welcome or welcome back to the soul, Salon.
- 0:43I am so excited to be with you, settle in, settle down,
- 0:47whatever you're doing.
- 0:48I'm grateful to be doing it with you today.
- 0:51I want to speak to all my fellow worst case scenario thinkers.
- 0:56Okay, feelers, dreamers, the people who we are always trying
- 1:00to protect ourselves by picturing the worst
- 1:02and imagining that that's exactly what's going to happen.
- 1:05And then living our lives accordingly
- 1:07to try and sort of paradoxically protect ourselves.
- 1:10The reason why it's a paradox is because we're living
- 1:13in the worst case scenario, we don't allow ourselves
- 1:15to take action in alignment with the best case scenario,
- 1:19which is also always and already possible.
- 1:22If we think of the infinite timelines
- 1:24that are available in the quantum field,
- 1:26what could go right is just as possible, okay,
- 1:29in so many ways.
- 1:30When we think of our dreams, when we think of our friendships,
- 1:33we want to create the communities, we want to foster the things
- 1:36we want to create, it's so important to remember
- 1:39and to bring in the frequency of what is possible.
- 1:42And so what I really want to focus on today is a question
- 1:45that I often ask myself whenever I am trapped
- 1:49in this worst case scenario mindset, you know what I mean?
- 1:52And what I ask myself when I'm saying,
- 1:54okay, what if everyone is going to hate me
- 1:56or what if everyone's going to cancel me?
- 1:57What if this person doesn't want me as a friend?
- 2:00I pause, I breathe and I say to myself,
- 2:03what if the opposite is true?
- 2:06And what I love about this question
- 2:08is if you really contemplate what the actual opposite is,
- 2:11not a kind of close thing that could be the literal opposite.
- 2:15So for example, when you're thinking to yourself,
- 2:18oh, if I share myself online, I'm going to get canceled.
- 2:20You say to yourself, what if the opposite is true?
- 2:22Not if, what if I don't get canceled?
- 2:24No, babes, let's go more opposite.
- 2:26What if people love me?
- 2:27You know, what if people shower me
- 2:28with deep compassion, gratitude and love?
- 2:31And in turn, I continue to do that towards them.
- 2:34If you are thinking and you're in public,
- 2:35this happens to me all the time and maybe you see someone
- 2:37and you're like, oh, I kind of want to say hello,
- 2:40but then I'm going to get rejected
- 2:41or they don't want me to go up to them or look,
- 2:43they're on their phone, they're busy,
- 2:44you convince yourself, oh, they don't want to talk to me,
- 2:47I'd be annoying them.
- 2:48What if the opposite is true?
- 2:49What if they secretly want to say hi to you?
- 2:51I'm certain that in the universe of possibilities,
- 2:54I just wonder how many times this has happened,
- 2:57where there's been people in public
- 2:58who have had eyes on each other,
- 3:00but just neither has been brave enough to say hello,
- 3:02and I totally empathize with that,
- 3:04given how risky it can feel
- 3:06and how isolated we tend to be from one another.
- 3:09Another example is I have this theory
- 3:11that there are so many friends in the universe in the world
- 3:14who are secretly in love with each other,
- 3:16but neither is brave enough to confess to the other.
- 3:19Oh my goodness, this would be such a good documentary.
- 3:21I'm telling you, and so the one friend is thinking,
- 3:23oh no, if I confess my love or romantic love for this person,
- 3:27I mean, friendship is a form of romantic love in my mind.
- 3:30I have podcast episodes on this
- 3:31that you can go listen to and watch,
- 3:33and it is a topic that I'll continue to revisit,
- 3:35but what I mean to say is they're seeking
- 3:37a sexual romantic relationship if they are sexual people,
- 3:40and they are scared that it's going to ruin the friendship
- 3:43and they don't confess they love and so they don't,
- 3:45but what if it's not that this person was gonna reject you,
- 3:48but they were also going to be like,
- 3:49I'm also in love with you.
- 3:51I bet that would happen so much more in the world
- 3:53if we made it safer to just express different forms
- 3:55of love towards each other.
- 3:57Anyways, what I wanna really let settle in,
- 3:59sink in, seep into our consciousness,
- 4:02because we have the collective consciousness
- 4:04that we are a part of, that is a part of us, right?
- 4:06The consciousness pulsating through us, between us,
- 4:08and what I want to let sink into that is this idea that
- 4:12sometimes this worst-case scenario
- 4:15that we are so certain is going to unfold,
- 4:17it's actually that certainty
- 4:19that's also contributing to the unfolding.
- 4:21What do I mean by that?
- 4:22When you act as though bad things are going to happen,
- 4:25what kind of energy do you put into the universe?
- 4:27What kind of risks do you refuse to take?
- 4:29What kind of actions do you refuse to take?
- 4:31Because you're convinced it's gonna go wrong.
- 4:33Let's say you've dreamed of posting on TikTok,
- 4:35you feel like, oh, I'm definitely going to get dragged,
- 4:37humiliated or ridiculed.
- 4:39So then maybe you do post on TikTok,
- 4:41but you post something safe, right?
- 4:42You post something that you feel like
- 4:44is non-controversial, and then what happens?
- 4:46It's not something that deeply resonates with people,
- 4:48because you're not giving you all to it.
- 4:50You're not embodying someone who literally thinks,
- 4:52no, people want to hear what I have to say.
- 4:54People care about my stories.
- 4:55People care about the random thought I had on a Tuesday,
- 4:58because that's how so many videos that do well,
- 5:00that's what they are.
- 5:01It's someone saying, you know what?
- 5:03Someone might care about this,
- 5:04and then sharing that truth,
- 5:05and then a lot of people often resonating with that truth.
- 5:08So we need to understand that we carry an energy
- 5:11in accordance with the future that we see
- 5:13for ourselves and for each other.
- 5:14So for example, if we as a collective are like,
- 5:16oh, it's not possible for us to improve the world,
- 5:20or to change the world, or it's futile.
- 5:21It's just like, what is even the point?
- 5:23So much is going wrong in the world,
- 5:25and I do empathize with that again.
- 5:26There's so much heartbreak that we are all witnessing
- 5:29and experiencing and living at this exact moment
- 5:32with Palestine, with Congo, with Sudan,
- 5:34and also just with the global world order,
- 5:37and with climate change, and with racism,
- 5:39and all the things, capitalism, and all the things.
- 5:41And at the same time, if we collectively don't believe
- 5:44it's possible to improve things,
- 5:46and we just say, well, it's already a lost cause,
- 5:49then we'll never act as though we think it's possible
- 5:51to improve things.
- 5:52And I love it.
- 5:53It's one of those quotes that just will always be with me.
- 5:55I learned it very young, and I'll never forget it
- 5:57is the Nelson Mandela quotes.
- 5:59It always seems impossible until it's done.
- 6:01And so I have a whole sole session on possibility.
- 6:04But what this sole session is really intended to invite us
- 6:08into is a question, an intervention that we can use
- 6:11in our day-to-day lives.
- 6:12When we are stuck in this worst case scenario thinking,
- 6:14you could even do a journal exercise.
- 6:16We're on the left hand side, you write all the things
- 6:18you think are going to go wrong, and then you say,
- 6:20okay, what if the opposite is true?
- 6:21And then you write all the things that could go right,
- 6:23or all the ways that the assumptions you are making
- 6:26may actually not be the case.
- 6:27Because it's not only about possibility,
- 6:29but it's also about assumptions that we are making
- 6:32about even projects we're embarking on.
- 6:34So for example, the idea that it has to be perfect,
- 6:37that's an assumption we make.
- 6:39And Rick Ruben's book speaks about how we accept
- 6:41all these implicit rules from culture, from our craft,
- 6:45from the mediums that we create on.
- 6:46But what if the opposite is true?
- 6:48He has a chapter on that that's very short
- 6:50on the creative version of this.
- 6:52So let's say if you say, oh, I have to make
- 6:53a 45-minute podcast episode.
- 6:55You say, what if the opposite is true?
- 6:56What if I need to make a two-minute episode?
- 6:59You know what I mean?
- 6:59Oh, no, I have to do interviews and yet they stress me out.
- 7:02What if the opposite is true?
- 7:03And actually it's okay to have solo episodes.
- 7:05That was my experience.
- 7:06I thought, okay, to have a podcast meant I had to do interviews,
- 7:09I didn't have the space to do them yet.
- 7:11And I still don't, and I'm excited to,
- 7:13I'm just honoring the phase that I'm in,
- 7:14but I am looking forward to that phase.
- 7:16But essentially I was like, what if the opposite is true?
- 7:17What if I could just chat?
- 7:19You know what I mean?
- 7:20And people might vibe with that too.
- 7:21So I want to read you a list that I wrote
- 7:23of moments or experiences that I could come up with
- 7:27that speak to this idea of when we sometimes assume
- 7:31kind of the opposite of what is actually possible.
- 7:33So this is the list.
- 7:34Let me go grab it for you.
- 7:35Okay, so the first one is when you're in a public place
- 7:38and you want to go up to someone, but you think to yourself,
- 7:41they probably don't want to be interrupted or greeted.
- 7:43They could be even in a group.
- 7:44They probably don't want me to infiltrate their group.
- 7:47What if the opposite is true?
- 7:48What if they've actually just had a conversation
- 7:50about how much they're looking to make new friends?
- 7:51But it's so difficult in the city.
- 7:53Everyone says that whatever city they're from.
- 7:55And so there's always that possibility
- 7:57that what you seek is seeking you.
- 7:59That's the exact energy that we're talking about.
- 8:01It's that it's not one sided.
- 8:02Sometimes we are part of a bigger chorus
- 8:05that we think we are a lone voice within.
- 8:07Oh, powerful.
- 8:08Okay, the second example has really been part of my life.
- 8:11So I started creating on TikTok three years ago.
- 8:13And this has been my biggest teacher
- 8:15in terms of what if the opposite is true?
- 8:17Because I had this fixated in my mind
- 8:19that everything was going to go wrong.
- 8:21I was inevitably going to be canceled, dragged, ridiculed.
- 8:23And everyone was going to be laughing at me
- 8:25both offline and online.
- 8:27And what is unfolded, the opposite has unfolded.
- 8:29I've received so much love and support and connection
- 8:33and just community.
- 8:34And it's been so wonderful to have my best friends.
- 8:36I've met through TikTok.
- 8:38And so it's been like the literal opposite.
- 8:40And I think that is why I feel so passionately about this idea
- 8:43because I'm living the opposite.
- 8:45And that's not to say I'll never be canceled
- 8:47or ridiculed or dragged, but so much love has happened
- 8:50that even if that does happen,
- 8:51it would still be worth it to me.
- 8:52I mean, it's hard to say that because there's uncertainty.
- 8:55I don't actually know how my future self will feel about this.
- 8:57I don't want to claim to know that.
- 8:59But I guess where I am right now
- 9:00in my current understanding and perspective
- 9:02is that I've just loved the way that I have received love
- 9:07from my community, from my audience, from you listening.
- 9:09And I feel so fulfilled and so lit up
- 9:13that I feel the complete opposite of what I was imagining
- 9:16would happen, like I was imagining the hate comments
- 9:18and the hate ratings and the hate this.
- 9:20But actually it's been so loving.
- 9:21And so I think that's why I care so much about this idea
- 9:24is like if I really hadn't allowed myself to be like,
- 9:28you know what, I am afraid of this happening
- 9:29but I'm still gonna do it anyway.
- 9:31I wouldn't be living in the reality that I'm living now
- 9:34with respect to creating and sharing myself
- 9:37and building a community.
- 9:38So that's why I wanna offer that to you.
- 9:40I wanna give a sub example of this
- 9:42that is also really resonant for me.
- 9:44I think part of the vulnerability or fear of sharing
- 9:47yourself online is that you're also facing people
- 9:50in your real life, whether you are still in touch
- 9:52with them or not judging you as well.
- 9:54So like people you went to school with and so on.
- 9:56And so one big limiting belief I had was that
- 9:59what if everyone in my life who knows me,
- 10:02that's not my close, close, close friend, is laughing at me?
- 10:05I think we all feel that resonant image
- 10:07of just like a bunch of kids laughing at us
- 10:10and saying, look how cringe you are,
- 10:11look how embarrassing you are,
- 10:12look how few things of importance you have to say
- 10:14or whatever your insecurities are,
- 10:17you kind of project that onto what you think
- 10:19people are thinking of you.
- 10:20And so I had this real fear about like people that I did know
- 10:24even leading me to create a separate Instagram account
- 10:26separate from the account where I, you know,
- 10:29that I grew up with, right?
- 10:30I'm really glad I did that but at the same time,
- 10:33whenever I have that feeling of cringe of like,
- 10:34oh, what if someone I see, I know sees this
- 10:37and they're like judging me for it?
- 10:38I think, you know what, what if they're inspired
- 10:40by what I'm doing?
- 10:42And that's what I mean by the opposite.
- 10:43Don't say, what if they're not judging me?
- 10:45That's too un-the-nose-visty.
- 10:46We're gonna take it a step further.
- 10:48Not what if they're not judging me.
- 10:50What if they're inspired by what I'm doing?
- 10:52What if they feel more encouraged to share themselves
- 10:55because of how I'm sharing myself?
- 10:56What if they feel more encouraged to be bold?
- 10:58What if they enjoy just listening to me?
- 11:00You know, I've received messages from people in my life
- 11:02that I had no idea, listen to my podcast
- 11:04or watch my videos and they're like,
- 11:06thank you so much for this.
- 11:07Or someone I went to college with
- 11:09who I haven't spoken to in years is like,
- 11:10it's so nice to see you sharing yourself like this
- 11:13and I learned so much from you
- 11:14and it honestly gives me chills
- 11:15because I didn't think that was possible.
- 11:17All I assumed was the worst.
- 11:19So again, I have made a video once about how
- 11:22we don't only hold limiting beliefs about ourselves.
- 11:25We also hold limiting beliefs about each other.
- 11:28We always assume the worst in each other.
- 11:30We always say they're judging me, they hate me.
- 11:32They're not gonna, like what I have to say,
- 11:34they're gonna ridicule me and that's really unfair.
- 11:37It's unfair to the collective
- 11:38because we also are all kind of looking
- 11:40for people to support and to love.
- 11:42Like there's so much love on the internet.
- 11:44I know there's so much hate as well,
- 11:45but there's also so much love
- 11:46and that is this frequency that I'm trying to bring in.
- 11:48So when we're stuck in the mindset of like,
- 11:50what if everyone is laughing at me?
- 11:52And I know this does indeed happen.
- 11:53I'm not trying to say these negative things don't happen.
- 11:56But what if we just allow ourselves
- 11:57to just play with the idea?
- 11:59Like no, what if I become someone who in my community,
- 12:02people are like, oh, you know, partially because of them,
- 12:05I actually took this step in my life
- 12:07and I'm so grateful.
- 12:08Maybe even at the time I judged them,
- 12:10I was jealous of them or I criticized them.
- 12:13But as I did some deeper work, I was like,
- 12:14oh my word, the reason I'm judging them
- 12:16is because I want to do what they're doing.
- 12:18I want to invite myself into allowing myself
- 12:21to be a beginner at something,
- 12:22to try at something, to get 100 views on something.
- 12:25Like that's brave, you know?
- 12:27Obviously I'm coming from a perspective
- 12:28of sharing yourself online,
- 12:29but whatever you're doing,
- 12:31if you want to be a dancer and you take dance classes,
- 12:33I have a friend who's embarking on that journey
- 12:35and she's just like going to these dance classes
- 12:37and it's hard and she feels like, oh, my word,
- 12:39it's overwhelming because she's a beginner
- 12:41and everyone in the class is maybe more advanced
- 12:43but how inspiring is that?
- 12:45That's so wonderful.
- 12:46It's so inspiring to allow yourself to be a beginner
- 12:49and I'm learning from her and she's encouraging me
- 12:53just in these actions she's taken
- 12:54to have a more beginner's mindset of like,
- 12:56what am I not allowing myself to try?
- 12:58What am I not allowing myself to do?
- 13:00So anyways, that's an example of allowing ourselves to try
- 13:03and we don't even know the impact
- 13:06that that will have on other people.
- 13:08Like she doesn't know that her learning to dance
- 13:10is inspiring me to learn to do things
- 13:12and just like practice things and try things
- 13:14and so we don't know our impact.
- 13:15Often before I post a TikTok or a podcast episode,
- 13:18I'm like, people are gonna hate this,
- 13:20people are gonna criticize this at minute 17.
- 13:22I said this and they're gonna drag me for it
- 13:24and then they're like, oh, my word,
- 13:25thank you so much for this episode.
- 13:26It really spoke to me like keep going
- 13:29and I'm like, oh, my goodness.
- 13:30What if the opposite is true?
- 13:32What if people are not secretly looking
- 13:34to criticize every word you say?
- 13:35What if they actually are seeking voices to support
- 13:39and they're grateful to have found you as one of them?
- 13:41You know what I mean?
- 13:42Like it's possible.
- 13:43I've had so many TikToks where I was like,
- 13:45I could swear they were gonna go negatively viral
- 13:47and then they did not.
- 13:49Okay, let's take it offline.
- 13:50Let's take it away from the space of online content creation
- 13:53and into the real world.
- 13:55So what are more examples of when the opposite can be true
- 13:57and when this question can be supportive to us?
- 13:59The next example is with respect to texting culture
- 14:02because I know we all are waiting for someone
- 14:04to text us back or feeling bad
- 14:05that we haven't texted someone back and both
- 14:07and neither whatever it is.
- 14:09So one of them is like, they're mad at me
- 14:11or they're ignoring me for not texting me back.
- 14:13I know this can be very painful
- 14:14and this is a whole larger conversation
- 14:16but what if the opposite is true?
- 14:17What if they're not mad at you or ignoring you?
- 14:20What if they feel so kind of secure
- 14:21in the friendship you have?
- 14:22This is like you're the new, new best friend.
- 14:24Yes, I am.
- 14:25What if they feel so much security in the friendship
- 14:27that you share that they actually feel safe
- 14:29in taking their time to respond from a place of abundance
- 14:33when they are more ready to
- 14:34because life gets busy and so on
- 14:36than responding from this place of obligation and pressure?
- 14:39That is a possibility.
- 14:40Or what if they're not mad at you at all?
- 14:42What if they're busy and it has nothing to do with you?
- 14:44That's another way you could use the opposite.
- 14:46What if it's like not about you at all?
- 14:47What if they're going through something completely different?
- 14:51So many what ifs could be possible
- 14:53that we can invite ourselves into
- 14:54when we feel like we're not being responded back to,
- 14:57what if this is an invitation to just send another text?
- 15:00Even if we may feel like, oh, I don't want to double
- 15:02or triple text, I know this is a painful conversation
- 15:04so I'm not going to do it justice right now
- 15:07but just an invitation to maybe ask yourself,
- 15:09what if I'm centering myself
- 15:10and it's actually not fair to them
- 15:12because it's maybe not even about me?
- 15:13Another related one that I think is so fascinating.
- 15:17So I had a podcast interview lined up
- 15:19and I'm really excited for this guest to come on
- 15:21but I was behind in reading the book.
- 15:23So I had to kind of cram to read the book
- 15:26so I had it on my schedule
- 15:27but it was really stressing me out.
- 15:29I was like, this is not really the energy
- 15:30that I would like to read this book in
- 15:32and I was feeling like, I mean, icon cancel
- 15:34we've had this on the schedule for like four months
- 15:36and so I was feeling like, oh, like,
- 15:37I really would prefer to do this in another time
- 15:40but I feel like this guest is very busy.
- 15:42They specifically requested a time
- 15:44for the out in the year versus I reached out to them last year
- 15:48and I was like, well, I just have to read this book this week
- 15:51and then that Monday morning
- 15:53who sends me an email the guest saying,
- 15:55I'm feeling so overwhelmed.
- 15:56Can we please reschedule this meeting too further in the year?
- 16:00And so it was such a beautiful example.
- 16:01She was apologizing and stuff and I was like,
- 16:03you know what, this is such an amazing example
- 16:06of how we feel so bad to cancel
- 16:08but what if that person actually would love to have
- 16:11the time that they would gain back?
- 16:12And I think often we're so apologetic,
- 16:14I'm so sorry to cancel this call or this meeting
- 16:17and then sometimes we don't realize that that person
- 16:20may also feel they also wanted to cancel in a way
- 16:23and they feel a certain kind of relief
- 16:25that they get to have that time
- 16:26and that you can reschedule.
- 16:27This is also part of a bigger conversation
- 16:29because I do think that there comes a time
- 16:31when it can be really hurtful when someone is always
- 16:35they call it like flaking on you or cancelling or rescheduling.
- 16:37I understand that perfectly.
- 16:38I think that's really true.
- 16:40It's a nuanced conversation
- 16:41but there are those select moments
- 16:43where we're not able to show up the way we want to show up
- 16:46or life got in the way, life got busy
- 16:48and we need the space to cancel
- 16:50and what if the person's not going to be mad at us
- 16:52or resentful but instead relieved?
- 16:55I always respond this.
- 16:56I always say thank you for honoring your boundaries
- 16:58because in turn you've allowed me
- 17:00and invited me to undermine.
- 17:02And I think that's so true.
- 17:03We're role modeling for each other was possible
- 17:05and someone says I'm feeling unwell
- 17:07like can we please reschedule
- 17:09and the other person might also be feeling unwell
- 17:11and felt like they didn't have the rights
- 17:12or the space to reschedule.
- 17:14So that's an example, again, bigger conversation
- 17:16but I wanted to just invite you into that again.
- 17:18A next example is the assumption that conflict will tear us apart.
- 17:22If I bring this up, if I have the difficult conversation,
- 17:24something will be broken, something will be ruptured between us.
- 17:27And as we know what if the opposite is true,
- 17:29what if this conflict brings us closer together,
- 17:32brings us into deeper alignment, intimacy and integrity?
- 17:36What if I learn something about them through sharing my truth
- 17:38because I also get to learn theirs?
- 17:40What if I learn something about myself
- 17:42and why actually this means so much to me?
- 17:44Like what is this actually about?
- 17:45What am I valuing?
- 17:46What do I feel is kind of out of alignment
- 17:49so that I can come into deeper truth
- 17:51and honestly with myself as well as with this person?
- 17:53So that reframe from this conflict will break us up
- 17:56to this conflict will bring us together
- 17:58or even bring us into a deeper truth.
- 18:00So some friendships and relationships really must end.
- 18:03You know, as in it has come the time.
- 18:05So if I bring this conflict up,
- 18:07maybe the more loving possibility will unfold.
- 18:10But I think the direct opposite is just that often
- 18:12we think conflict is something that ruptures a relationship.
- 18:15And we don't realize that if we're able to hold
- 18:17conscious conflict, loving conflict,
- 18:19then it can actually bring us into a very deep
- 18:22and juicy intimacy.
- 18:23I think about this a lot, conflict,
- 18:25the way we only have conflict with people that we are close with,
- 18:29that has to be a symbol, that sign,
- 18:31that conflict and relationship are intertwined
- 18:34that we fortify our closeness to one another
- 18:36by being truthful about the experiences we have
- 18:39with each other that do rub us the wrong way
- 18:41or feel hurtful or feel like our boundaries
- 18:44have been encroached out in some way
- 18:45or we feel out of alignment with.
- 18:47So conflict meaning that,
- 18:48conflict meaning with confidant,
- 18:51confidence, conjunction.
- 18:53So I think that there's this special thing where
- 18:56we need to realize that it's only twigs that are close
- 18:59that are going to have a little fire between them.
- 19:01You know what I mean?
- 19:02So yes, conflict can bring us closer to each other.
- 19:05The next one of the opposite is true is,
- 19:07I want to reach out to them,
- 19:08but it's been so long they don't want to hear from me.
- 19:11Babes, what if they miss you too?
- 19:12You know what I mean?
- 19:13What if they miss you in ways they don't even realize
- 19:15and when they read your text, they'll be like,
- 19:16oh my goodness, wow,
- 19:18and they may even have just been thinking about you.
- 19:20That happened so often.
- 19:21I had a friend who I hadn't spoken to in years
- 19:23reached out to me.
- 19:24She was like, I was just thinking of you,
- 19:25I miss you, let's catch up.
- 19:26And there's a world in which she was like,
- 19:28oh no, she doesn't want to hear from me.
- 19:29I was loving, I'm trying to stop saying dying.
- 19:32I was loving to hear from her.
- 19:34It was wonderful.
- 19:35It was wonderful.
- 19:36That's because I feel like words carry energetic frequency
- 19:38and I just don't want to bring that into my world.
- 19:41And so I'm trying to remove death kind of language.
- 19:43Like, oh my god, I'm dying.
- 19:44I'm dying to hear this or I'm dying to see you.
- 19:46I can't wait to see you.
- 19:48I'm trying to, you know, words have power in the universe.
- 19:51And so I want to be in a divine and sensual
- 19:54and beautiful relationship with the words that I use.
- 19:57And so I want to stop using language like that.
- 19:59But I'm loving to, I'm excited to reconnect with her
- 20:03and I'm so glad that she believed it was possible
- 20:05that I did want to hear from her
- 20:07and I did feel the same.
- 20:08Ah, sexy, beautiful, wonderful, perfect, okay?
- 20:10The next one is, it's just always gonna be this hard.
- 20:13This is so hard, this is so tough.
- 20:15I'm having so, I'm struggling so much
- 20:17and this is just how it's always gonna be.
- 20:19I often tell myself, nothing is permanent.
- 20:21This tool pass and what if the opposite is true?
- 20:24Like, what if this is temporary?
- 20:26What if I even look back on this experience
- 20:28is like, wow, you know, even though it was painful,
- 20:30I needed to go through this in order to learn that.
- 20:33I don't want to glorify suffering.
- 20:34I don't want us to suffer so I don't always think
- 20:36that's the right lesson to draw.
- 20:38But I do think there are these experiences
- 20:40where we just, we take what we can from them
- 20:42and we also recognize that they are temporary.
- 20:45Have two left.
- 20:46The one is, even when we're in a conversation,
- 20:48maybe you're in a group conversation,
- 20:49you're struggling to get a word in.
- 20:51It's one of those conversations where it's just difficult.
- 20:53You maybe have something you wanna say,
- 20:55but you silence yourself.
- 20:56Maybe you're more of a listener, you say to yourself,
- 20:58you know what, like I'm just gonna be more
- 21:00in a passive role in this conversation
- 21:01and listen to these people have this conversation without me.
- 21:04And we think to ourselves, no one values what I have to say.
- 21:07And inviting ourselves into the opposite view
- 21:09of like people value my voice and perspective
- 21:11and also I value my voice and perspective.
- 21:13So I deserve to be heard.
- 21:15With respect to that, something I think about a lot
- 21:17is how different cultures and families
- 21:20have different relationships to conversation.
- 21:23So I get really annoyed, honestly,
- 21:24when someone in conversation just speaks and speaks
- 21:27and speaks or in a group just speaks and speaks
- 21:28and speaks for what I've invited myself into seeing
- 21:31is like some people grew up in homes
- 21:32where they were so used to,
- 21:35oh, if you have something to say, you'll interrupt me.
- 21:37And they were also so used to having to fight to speak.
- 21:40So they speak and they kind of are clinging to that airtime
- 21:43because they're so used to someone cutting in
- 21:46and speaking over them.
- 21:47I have a lot more compassion now for that behavior.
- 21:50That might not even be someone's truth,
- 21:51but it just took me from a hyperjudgmental hyper like,
- 21:54why would anyone take up so much space in a conversation
- 21:57to, oh, okay, maybe we have some different cultural conditioning
- 22:00or stories around how a conversation is supposed to go.
- 22:03Another nuanced conversation because we do need
- 22:05to make space for each other,
- 22:06but it's just helped me be less in a hypercritical
- 22:09and therefore also just that negative energy
- 22:11that I then feel because I'm now resenting them.
- 22:13And then now I'm kind of more at peace with it.
- 22:15I'm like, you know, not necessarily that my way is the way.
- 22:18It's just how I've been taught to converse
- 22:20and how I prefer to converse, which is also fine.
- 22:23I don't have to find a line-minute conversation with everyone.
- 22:25The final and final example that I have for you
- 22:28and I wonder they must be so much more out there
- 22:30that I wanted to share is,
- 22:32is the feeling that I'm not good enough
- 22:33or I'm not prepared enough?
- 22:35Like I'm not qualified enough.
- 22:37And what if the opposite is true in that?
- 22:40What if my whole life has prepared me for this moment?
- 22:42What if I'm the exact voice that this idea needs to speak it?
- 22:46What if I'm the exact hands that this creation needs to craft it?
- 22:50So just inviting yourself to actually not see yourself
- 22:53through the lens of institutions and frameworks
- 22:55and oh, I'm not old enough or wise enough,
- 22:57or beautiful enough for all of these things
- 22:58that is placed on us by these toxic systems.
- 23:01And just say like, what if it's me, not only me,
- 23:04because it's also us,
- 23:05but what if I feel core to this for a reason
- 23:08and I am prepared enough and I am good enough
- 23:11and actually my feeling of not being good enough
- 23:12might even allow me to create
- 23:14with more truthfulness and resonance
- 23:16because I can always bring that perspective into what I'm creating.
- 23:19We can always make space to name the shame we feel,
- 23:22the inadequacy we feel, the self-doubt we feel.
- 23:24And that's also why we are the right person to do it
- 23:27because of the authenticity and the honesty
- 23:30and the integrity that we can bring to that creation,
- 23:33the truthfulness and the rawness that we can bring.
- 23:36So I hope that this episode was supportive to you.
- 23:39I hope that you can ask yourself more frequently
- 23:42what if the opposite is true?
- 23:44What if I am basing my entire actions
- 23:47and orientation towards this project, idea, friendship,
- 23:51relationship, reality in a way that's so rooted
- 23:54in a very narrow conception of what could happen,
- 23:57hyperfixated on what could go wrong,
- 24:00therefore aligning my actions, aligning my energy
- 24:02to that outcome and therefore also making that outcome
- 24:05more probable.
- 24:05What if it's actually possible that the people I think
- 24:08hate me actually admire me?
- 24:10What if it's possible that this thing that I feel
- 24:12has to be a certain way I could invite myself
- 24:15to be literally the opposite?
- 24:16I hope this was supportive to you.
- 24:18I love you so dearly and I hope you'll solve
- 24:20the feelings, the warmth, the love, the wisdom
- 24:23of this sole session.
- 24:24We will be back and I cannot wait to be with you again
- 24:28in co-presence and co-community
- 24:30and I guess that's what co-community means.
- 24:32So I love you so dearly, you are love and you are loved
- 24:35and love is unfolding for you.
- 24:37Community is unfolding for you.
- 24:39Creativity is unfolding for you.
- 24:41What you seek is seeking you.
- 24:42I promise you that.
- 24:44What you desire is desiring you and you are so whole
- 24:47and you are so loved and you are so precious
- 24:50and divine and we need you as you are
- 24:52and we also need you in your true and in your power.
- 24:55You've lived the story, you've lived for a reason,
- 24:58the stories you've lived, let me not reduce you.
- 25:00You are irreducible, you are divine
- 25:02and you are forever part of the collective
- 25:05and the collective is forever part of you.
- 25:08I'll see you in the next sole session.
