- 0:00Speaker 1: To Bail to Bail is here four finger discounted. It
- 0:21Speaker 1: is the four figured this game mail bag for June
- 0:24Speaker 1: twenty twenty six. I am Dan. Now you are one guy.
- 0:27Speaker 2: We're gonna talking about some Simpsons news added some Simpsons
- 0:29Speaker 2: questions from the patrons and the listeners and all the
- 0:32Speaker 2: other good people out there. Now, there's a few news
- 0:35Speaker 2: stories that I sent through to you. A couple of
- 0:36Speaker 2: them you will have no interest in, but I thought
- 0:38Speaker 2: i'd bring them up anyway.
- 0:39Speaker 1: So it's been said for many years now, I'm talking.
- 0:42Speaker 2: About ten plus years that a revival of the Simpsons
- 0:46Speaker 2: game Simpons, Hit and Run is coming, right yes, And
- 0:49Speaker 2: you know we hear it. We say, people say, no,
- 0:51Speaker 2: it's coming, it's coming. We'd love for it to do it.
- 0:53Speaker 2: We just can't really make it happen right now. YadA YadA.
- 0:55Speaker 2: It's it's been hinted, it's been not being hinted. It
- 0:58Speaker 2: seems now that there's a legitimate hint that it's in action,
- 1:01Speaker 2: not just maybe coming, it's actually in the works.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Then well, I trust Gaming Bible, which is telling us
- 1:06Speaker 1: about this, but do you tell us a little bit
- 1:08Speaker 1: more so?
- 1:08Speaker 2: Gamers are hoping that an open World class. It might
- 1:10Speaker 2: be except for a remaster following a huge developer update,
- 1:13Speaker 2: and it's been a long time coming. So developer update,
- 1:15Speaker 2: you click on that, it takes you all into real
- 1:17Speaker 2: estate dot Com today, you.
- 1:22Speaker 1: H folks. I guess what was saying here is don't
- 1:26Speaker 1: worry about AI. Fine, it's kind of stupid.
- 1:28Speaker 2: So I did read through it all, and apparently it
- 1:30Speaker 2: was saying that a game soon that works at Activision
- 1:33Speaker 2: has said that a game that everyone's been wanting a
- 1:36Speaker 2: remaster for a long.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Time is actually happening.
- 1:38Speaker 2: Okay, and they're sort of letting out all the options, saying,
- 1:41Speaker 2: we can't be that's already been done. That's already been done.
- 1:43Speaker 2: So I think it's all still speculation. There's no absolute confirmation.
- 1:47Speaker 2: But if there is ever a game that will do
- 1:49Speaker 2: well with a remake and a remaster, it is this one.
- 1:52Speaker 2: So I hope simply Hit and Run does get remastered,
- 1:55Speaker 2: and then you and I are going to do let's
- 1:57Speaker 2: plays of.
- 1:57Speaker 1: The and it will be the most we at least
- 2:01Speaker 1: watched video ever Go Which button do you push? It
- 2:04Speaker 1: came out in like two thousand and three, so it
- 2:06Speaker 1: was still when The Simpsons was still still felt like
- 2:09Speaker 1: peak Simpsons, you know what I mean, And it's it's
- 2:11Speaker 1: but it was long enough into the show's run where
- 2:14Speaker 1: all of the stuff that we loved can be included.
- 2:16Speaker 1: But it's just it's the open world map of Springfield,
- 2:19Speaker 1: so you're driving around Springfield's the only real game where
- 2:22Speaker 1: you can just drive around Springfield and just kick people.
- 2:24Speaker 1: I liked it. It's being described here as a family
- 2:26Speaker 1: friendly version of Gta's exactly what it is, Grand Theft Daughter, Yeah,
- 2:29Speaker 1: exactly what it is, except instead of shooting people, you
- 2:31Speaker 1: kick them. You've seen the video of EU You're kicking
- 2:33Speaker 1: people right life, But no, I've actually had him kick me. Yeah, yeah,
- 2:37Speaker 1: I had the real experience on him.
- 2:38Speaker 2: Yeah super boot, Yes, but no, you can just walk around.
- 2:42Speaker 2: And the story behind that is interesting because originally the
- 2:44Speaker 2: developers put that in there as a joke, and Matt
- 2:46Speaker 2: Graning did a little play of the game, and his
- 2:48Speaker 2: favorite part about it was the fact that you kick people.
- 2:51Speaker 2: He's like, this is great and like, oh, we're just
- 2:53Speaker 2: going to take that out.
- 2:54Speaker 1: No, lead that in Matt Grating sounds very well adjusted. Yes,
- 2:57Speaker 1: but that's the that's the part everyone remembers. Unning around
- 2:59Speaker 1: you walk up, Someone's goop the just fall over. Hopefully
- 3:05Speaker 1: gamers in twenty twenty six and beyond will get the
- 3:07Speaker 1: opportunity to do so where they remastered version or Hit
- 3:10Speaker 1: and Run.
- 3:11Speaker 2: Yeah, and speaking of video games, Simpsons, we mentioned recently
- 3:13Speaker 2: how they were on Fortnite, and I literally got Fortnite
- 3:16Speaker 2: for this because they had the Simpsons. I've since deleted
- 3:18Speaker 2: it because Elliot's like, can I play Fortnite. I'm like, no,
- 3:21Speaker 2: it's gone. It's literally gone, but don't have it anymore.
- 3:23Speaker 2: But the Simpsons is coming back. Apparently they were teasing
- 3:25Speaker 2: that the Simpsons are going to be They're gonna be
- 3:27Speaker 2: doing Springfield again. I'm not quite sure whether it's gonna
- 3:29Speaker 2: be the same map or not, all the same characters
- 3:31Speaker 2: or anything, but basically it's just you get to run
- 3:33Speaker 2: around spot. I enjoyed it, but I don't know.
- 3:37Speaker 1: I feel like if I let Elliott play it, I
- 3:39Speaker 1: can see how easily addictive this thing is. I watched
- 3:43Speaker 1: I understand why so many people play this game, because
- 3:45Speaker 1: I found myself not a game. I going just one more,
- 3:49Speaker 1: just one more. Elliot could end up like your mate
- 3:51Speaker 1: who got sucked into the world of Warcraft. Yes, and
- 3:54Speaker 1: ended up with a big pile of dirty plates, yelling
- 3:57Speaker 1: and sanities at his mum and what a sauce? Yeh
- 4:01Speaker 1: want a sauce on this cheese sandwich? Yeah, we don't
- 4:04Speaker 1: want a manding up like that.
- 4:05Speaker 2: No, we don't know, but if you do like those people,
- 4:08Speaker 2: you know what guys talking about. We just reviewed Make
- 4:11Speaker 2: Love Not Warcraft on our Going Down to South Park podcast,
- 4:14Speaker 2: which is one of the greatest episodes of all time,
- 4:16Speaker 2: and I highly recommend you check out that show. If
- 4:18Speaker 2: you don't like South Bude, at least check out that
- 4:19Speaker 2: episode Make Love Not Warcraft. I'm not sure what's the
- 4:22Speaker 2: vailable just yet, but it will be soon. We just
- 4:24Speaker 2: recorded it. Yes, Core, I was watching some great Lazagnia
- 4:26Speaker 2: as an ad here.
- 4:26Speaker 1: Did you see that? Yeah? It looked kind of sexy. Yeah,
- 4:29Speaker 1: it's like pretty much nearly nude eating Lasagnia. I mean
- 4:31Speaker 1: I love lasagna. Yeah, I love no dudes. Yeah, good combination.
- 4:35Speaker 1: We're not recording this, are we? No?
- 4:36Speaker 2: But Fortnite put this out Springfield reloaded summer twenty six. Yeah,
- 4:40Speaker 2: we're thinking we're back.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Oh hey, is that meant to be John Wick? It
- 4:45Speaker 1: looks like John Wick? Right, Yeah, yeah, I don't know
- 4:47Speaker 1: that that's the Giano line. Yeah. Last year's events saw
- 4:50Speaker 1: the island transformed into Springfield and had a battle pass
- 4:53Speaker 1: dedicated to the takeover. Players could do battle in various
- 4:56Speaker 1: famous locations from the show, including the simpsons House most haven't.
- 4:59Speaker 1: That was my favorite place to hide out. I would
- 5:01Speaker 1: run straight to the Simpson's House, get into the attic
- 5:03Speaker 1: and just hang out there. It's like someone tries to
- 5:04Speaker 1: come into the trap door. I'm like, gotcha. God.
- 5:07Speaker 2: But the thing, the way Fortnite works is right, so
- 5:09Speaker 2: this is big. You know what a map is, right?
- 5:13Speaker 2: I am aware when it comes to video games, like
- 5:14Speaker 2: the whole landscape.
- 5:15Speaker 1: Yeah, So what happens is after a certain time period,
- 5:18Speaker 1: the map gets smaller, and if you're stuck, so that
- 5:21Speaker 1: sort of it's like this, it's called it the storm
- 5:23Speaker 1: or something, right, and it's closing it and it goes
- 5:25Speaker 1: like that, and if you're still in this where the
- 5:27Speaker 1: time clock runs out, you die. Oh.
- 5:29Speaker 2: So it's a way of getting everyone closer to each other.
- 5:32Speaker 2: So that's why every game only goes for like ten minutes,
- 5:35Speaker 2: because the map is always getting smaller or small and smaller,
- 5:38Speaker 2: to the point where at the end of it, you
- 5:40Speaker 2: have to be basically face to face to be shooting
- 5:42Speaker 2: each other, and it's just like get it over and
- 5:43Speaker 2: done with.
- 5:44Speaker 1: Next map.
- 5:44Speaker 2: So I enjoyed that. So I used to love it.
- 5:46Speaker 2: That start is hanging out into the ad that is
- 5:48Speaker 2: sitting there, but it says here. Yeah, the most.
- 5:50Speaker 1: Tavern, the sponfield power plan, and the sale shaded look
- 5:52Speaker 1: made the whole experience feeling really authentic.
- 5:55Speaker 2: I will probably play it again. I thought it was
- 5:56Speaker 2: a lot of fun. Okay, cool, but would I let
- 5:59Speaker 2: Elliott plan it?
- 6:00Speaker 1: Probably not all right? Well, when Hit and Run gets
- 6:02Speaker 1: real nastered though, yeah, get me on board and I
- 6:05Speaker 1: will fumble my way through it again.
- 6:06Speaker 2: That's It's that discussion I had recently where it's like,
- 6:09Speaker 2: I feel like Ali's getting to the age now where
- 6:12Speaker 2: maybe need to start treating more like not a young adult,
- 6:14Speaker 2: but he's a little kid anymore. I feel like I'm
- 6:16Speaker 2: sort of maybe holding him back. I don't want him
- 6:18Speaker 2: to get to the point where he can't play games.
- 6:20Speaker 2: Is that and he's so out of the loop because
- 6:23Speaker 2: all the kids are playing it, And then if he's
- 6:24Speaker 2: not playing it, it's like, will he be able to
- 6:26Speaker 2: let him have some expose something.
- 6:28Speaker 1: Yeah, but you've got to keep your eyes on things.
- 6:30Speaker 2: Another game, Simpsons is now Monopoly World board game right
- 6:34Speaker 2: in Monopoly Go, So it's a digital version of Yeah,
- 6:37Speaker 2: the Simpsons are now taken over that.
- 6:38Speaker 1: Oh my goodness. You can do wonderful things with computers
- 6:41Speaker 1: these days. Oh look, it looks like Monty Burns versus
- 6:45Speaker 1: mister Monocle who would win money bags? Moneybags? Is that
- 6:47Speaker 1: his name? I thought it was mister Monicle, but.
- 6:49Speaker 2: He's not wearing a money I thought penny Is it
- 6:51Speaker 2: penny bags? Penny bags? Money bags could be what's the
- 6:54Speaker 2: monopoly man's name. Let's have a look.
- 6:55Speaker 1: What do you think it's got? Mister Monopole, mister monic Monicle, Monopoly.
- 6:59Speaker 1: Maybe it is mister Monopoly, mister Monopoly. I thought it
- 7:03Speaker 1: was called something else. Yeah, Rich Uncle Millburn penny bags. Yeah, wow, love,
- 7:10Speaker 1: there's all his law in Monopoly. So it's said to
- 7:13Speaker 1: be modeled after real life financier financial by financier JP Morgan. Yeah, okay,
- 7:20Speaker 1: as in the as an investment bank.
- 7:21Speaker 2: So his current name is mister Monopoly. His original name
- 7:24Speaker 2: was rich Uncle Milburn pennybags, back.
- 7:27Speaker 1: When penny bags actually sort of meant something, Yeah, that
- 7:30Speaker 1: have to be dollar bags, yes, but you can you
- 7:32Speaker 1: is common if you want Yeah, Ridge uncle, yeah, rich uncle. Okay,
- 7:36Speaker 1: but back to Monopoly Goon sentence.
- 7:39Speaker 2: So yeah, Supringills officially rolled into Monopoly Go Iver not
- 7:41Speaker 2: Monopoly Go Is but and absolutely nobody's prepared for what
- 7:44Speaker 2: happens next. Starting June third, which is already happened, the
- 7:47Speaker 2: sims As are taking over the board in a full
- 7:49Speaker 2: season crossover collaboration packed with chaos, doughnuts, rivalries, and enough
- 7:54Speaker 2: property damage to make even mister Burns nervous. It's one
- 7:57Speaker 2: of the biggest and most comprehensive partnership scopely in partner
- 8:01Speaker 2: but what does that makes sense? These words scope elleting
- 8:02Speaker 2: partnership with Hasbro's and it's full of surprises for Tycoons
- 8:07Speaker 2: and Simpsons fans are like from iconic sprint for locations
- 8:09Speaker 2: to brand new gameplay twists, this season brings limited time
- 8:13Speaker 2: Simpsons inspired content across Monopoly Go, with new boards, collectibles, minigames,
- 8:17Speaker 2: and community events rolling throughout the collaboration.
- 8:20Speaker 1: Could be a great deal of fun. Looks like a
- 8:21Speaker 1: way to separate you from your heart earned money.
- 8:23Speaker 2: It feels like the Simpsons now as a brand. When
- 8:27Speaker 2: you think about Disney, what do they see as vailable
- 8:29Speaker 2: as is it available as a TV brand or is
- 8:31Speaker 2: available as just a brand an ip that we can
- 8:34Speaker 2: attach to things, because it feels like Disney have really
- 8:37Speaker 2: just sort of just watered down the Simpsons ip.
- 8:39Speaker 1: But it's just it's everywhere again. Well, yeah, maybe it's
- 8:42Speaker 1: got Simsons attached to it. Again, That's what Disney does. Yeah,
- 8:45Speaker 1: they sort of tend to put their name on a
- 8:47Speaker 1: lot of merch or they They've got a rich and
- 8:51Speaker 1: deep library of stuff that they've either created or that
- 8:53Speaker 1: they've acquired. And yeah, I don't. They don't just tell
- 8:56Speaker 1: stories with it, they create products out of it. Would
- 9:00Speaker 1: you play Monopoly? Go?
- 9:01Speaker 2: I just love when they did the Macus Monopolist. I
- 9:03Speaker 2: loved it when I was a kid, but I never
- 9:04Speaker 2: won anything. You always get like two of the three
- 9:06Speaker 2: or three of the four.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Yeah. I think I'm just an old school guy who
- 9:09Speaker 1: likes a Monopoly board an actual sort of you know,
- 9:12Speaker 1: physical currency. Do you have any themed monopolies? I don't.
- 9:15Speaker 1: There was a there was like a Gelong footy club
- 9:17Speaker 1: one that I think had Bobby in it really and
- 9:20Speaker 1: there's certainly a Geelong one that's that exists. I know
- 9:22Speaker 1: there's additions. I wonder what Park Avenue is in there.
- 9:25Speaker 1: I think it'd be like in the Gelong one. Yeah
- 9:28Speaker 1: it was. I should know that.
- 9:30Speaker 2: You remember looking it up and going that's not the
- 9:32Speaker 2: best one. The Geelong Waterfront.
- 9:35Speaker 1: Maybe possibly, or Eastern Beach. What should be? What locations
- 9:40Speaker 1: should be if it's a true Gelong game. Yeah, well
- 9:45Speaker 1: we're at the high end house, the magic window from
- 9:46Speaker 1: the Eureka which is oh yeahs toilets in yeah, the terminus, well,
- 9:57Speaker 1: it's not there any terminus. Man, take me back Ali
- 10:03Speaker 1: Cats which is now would changed to a C's which
- 10:05Speaker 1: is now something men's club. Oh my god. Anyway, local references,
- 10:10Speaker 1: that's the Geelong fel I've got plenty of theme monopoi.
- 10:12Speaker 1: I've got Simpsons Monopoly. You've got a couple of different
- 10:14Speaker 1: versions of that. One of them is digital too, so
- 10:16Speaker 1: you know, actually it's better when you're playing with kids
- 10:18Speaker 1: till it's just like it's just easy to scam because
- 10:20Speaker 1: it's like counting the money and whatnot. I've got a
- 10:22Speaker 1: Rolling Stones one. I've got a a sign fo cludo.
- 10:26Speaker 1: I think maybe that's clue. I've got a Simpsons a
- 10:28Speaker 1: siinefould Cludo. I've got Friends Cludo because Nichola likes friends
- 10:31Speaker 1: the Simpsons. Simpsons Cludo is one of my favorite ball
- 10:33Speaker 1: games of all time. It's really good. Yeah, but this
- 10:35Speaker 1: one here, this one, our man Matt Salmon got a
- 10:38Speaker 1: boner pick with him. Oh boy, he made us look stupid.
- 10:41Speaker 1: He said to us, it's not easy to do.
- 10:43Speaker 2: And I know he did say don't quote me on it,
- 10:45Speaker 2: and we created him anyway. But he was like, well, well,
- 10:50Speaker 2: Simpsons Day, we're going to be dropping up on Disney Plus.
- 10:52Speaker 2: I was like, cool, so put it, hey on, Well,
- 10:54Speaker 2: Simpsons Day is going to drop something. And then it
- 10:56Speaker 2: didn't drop. Everyone's like, hey, you're good, but where's the
- 10:58Speaker 2: special And it turns out they've now announced it the
- 11:02Speaker 2: Simpsons Extreme Makeover Homer Edition, as he talked to us
- 11:05Speaker 2: in the interview about Okay, so this one here is
- 11:08Speaker 2: the three specials here, so they're all going to be
- 11:10Speaker 2: streaming on Disney Plus this summer and it's just yeah, three.
- 11:15Speaker 2: So we've got Simpsly, which premier is July third, twenty
- 11:17Speaker 2: twenty six. When penniless conn artist Marge Bouvier is sent
- 11:20Speaker 2: to Italy to convince wealthy sap Seymour Skinner to come home.
- 11:24Speaker 2: She's tempted by the trappings of his affluent lifestyle. But
- 11:27Speaker 2: there's a big fat fly in the ointment skinners clinging,
- 11:29Speaker 2: dim witted mooch of a house guest. Homer simply, oh yeah,
- 11:32Speaker 2: because that's their take on Ripley. Yes, yet me discussed this.
- 11:35Speaker 1: We did talk about that, and I was very excited.
- 11:37Speaker 2: In this Disney Plus exclusive you Extreme Extreme Makeover Homer Edition.
- 11:41Speaker 2: It's a double episode. It's the one who says forty
- 11:43Speaker 2: five minutes long or whatever.
- 11:44Speaker 1: Homer.
- 11:44Speaker 2: Marge's Fun Couples date Night goes off the rails, where
- 11:47Speaker 2: Marge loned. Homer left the kids unsupervised with only the
- 11:49Speaker 2: doorbell camera. As a babysitter. Frustrated with her imperfect husband,
- 11:53Speaker 2: a tipsy Marge does up a trilogy of fantasies of
- 11:55Speaker 2: a different Homer. The special guest stars Betty Gilpin with
- 11:59Speaker 2: me called Guests Loufi. The other things she said is
- 12:04Speaker 2: that them, no, no, what are they?
- 12:06Speaker 1: That's tattoo. That's tattoo. Tigan and Sarah are kind of
- 12:09Speaker 1: the absolute opposite, Okay, Teak and Sarah. I think they're
- 12:12Speaker 1: like a Canadian lesbian folk duo. I'm not exactly sure
- 12:17Speaker 1: if it's low loufi or lo fe or something like that,
- 12:20Speaker 1: but she's a very sort of sweet singer. And Betty
- 12:25Speaker 1: Goodwin good actor.
- 12:26Speaker 2: And the final one that's coming in August is Yellow Mirror.
- 12:29Speaker 2: A defective lamp reveals a heartbreaking truth about what Homer
- 12:32Speaker 2: believes is reality, and an AI powered tablet be Friends
- 12:36Speaker 2: and Controls Maggie. The Simpsons struggled to find the light
- 12:39Speaker 2: through two dark tales of the curious and bizarre. In
- 12:41Speaker 2: this Disney plasics, they play on Black Mirror.
- 12:44Speaker 1: Okay, nice, Yeah, we did talk about this without power, Matt,
- 12:47Speaker 1: didn't we Not that one, but definitely something. I think
- 12:50Speaker 1: you mentioned something about Black Mirror and he definitely he did.
- 12:53Speaker 2: Yeah, and the and the trilogy one of course as well.
- 12:56Speaker 2: The thing is this is now the call of Disney
- 12:58Speaker 2: plus specials. But this is basically the end of season
- 13:00Speaker 2: thirty six, so there was only like fifteen episodes in
- 13:03Speaker 2: season thirty six and then they have some special So
- 13:06Speaker 2: that's the way it's going to be the Simpsons going forward.
- 13:07Speaker 2: You get like fifteen or so they're on TV and
- 13:10Speaker 2: then the rest are going to be Disney Plus exclusives
- 13:12Speaker 2: that air over the summer.
- 13:14Speaker 1: So get subscribing, kids.
- 13:15Speaker 2: I guess that's a way of keeping Simpsons in the
- 13:17Speaker 2: spotlight because it's like it's a new special every month,
- 13:20Speaker 2: as opposed to I mean, if those three episodes ed
- 13:23Speaker 2: in part of the season, everyone's forgotten about season thirty
- 13:24Speaker 2: six already.
- 13:25Speaker 1: It sounds like a pretty good balance, pretty smart balance. Yeah.
- 13:29Speaker 1: From a business sense, one might say, it's like, yeah,
- 13:31Speaker 1: you've got your regular episodes. Everyone can enjoy them. But
- 13:33Speaker 1: if you're a die hard Simpsons man, you better tune in.
- 13:36Speaker 1: Do you want to do a reaction video to the trailer?
- 13:40Speaker 1: Here's the trailer. Here we go, Okay, cool, what's up?
- 13:42Speaker 1: Look at? So they're might just drunk the largest dreams Joker?
- 13:57Speaker 1: It's Joker relevant anymore? Though, what's that to play on?
- 14:02Speaker 1: I'm guessing it's like Mission impossible, Yeah, Joker things. So
- 14:10Speaker 1: I think he's Joker in one of them. It looks
- 14:12Speaker 1: like he's Don Draper in one. Draper. Yeah good. You've
- 14:17Speaker 1: been staring into your drink for the last eight minutes
- 14:21Speaker 1: exclusively on the whole of the substance Disney plus I'm
- 14:24Speaker 1: not sure about that. I don't know.
- 14:27Speaker 2: It feels like just, you know, a trios of horror.
- 14:30Speaker 2: But it's just had it out, which is pretty much
- 14:32Speaker 2: how Matt described it, right. He just said, he goes
- 14:33Speaker 2: it's an episode with an episode within an episode.
- 14:36Speaker 1: I think they I think they might have recognized when
- 14:39Speaker 1: they were creating it's like, oh, we can actually do
- 14:41Speaker 1: a little bit more than this and turn it into
- 14:43Speaker 1: kind of an event. It's a special yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 14:46Speaker 1: we can add rather than cut out. And sometimes it
- 14:48Speaker 1: feels like, oh, we've oh, there's so much good material here,
- 14:51Speaker 1: but we can we can find by the network time span.
- 14:57Speaker 1: I remember when Joker one came out, it felt like, oh,
- 14:59Speaker 1: this thing, this is changed DC going forward. The Joker
- 15:02Speaker 1: character is so cool what he brought to the character.
- 15:04Speaker 1: Then number two came out and everyone's just like, let's
- 15:06Speaker 1: just forget the whole thing ever existed. Kind of yeah,
- 15:08Speaker 1: and just to do us a Joker parody now just
- 15:11Speaker 1: feels like no one cares anymore. Feels a little late, yeah,
- 15:15Speaker 1: I mean, even though you still got people all over
- 15:18Speaker 1: the world going to those steps and doing the Joker
- 15:20Speaker 1: dance on it. Really still apparently it's pretty popular thing. Okay,
- 15:23Speaker 1: they have the Gary Goloder playing at the same time,
- 15:28Speaker 1: not at all problematic, all right, I didn't think they
- 15:32Speaker 1: look to that. Yeah, it looks fine. All right, let's
- 15:35Speaker 1: get a couple of questions and some news as well.
- 15:37Speaker 1: This was first one here. Brody McCartney.
- 15:39Speaker 2: Hey guys, I have been listening to the podcast for
- 15:40Speaker 2: a year now and immediately fell in love with it.
- 15:42Speaker 2: I'm very thankful for the hours of free entertainment you
- 15:45Speaker 2: have given me, and I love this podcast a lot.
- 15:47Speaker 2: I want your opinion who should be the villain in
- 15:49Speaker 2: the new Simpsons movie and what the plot would look like.
- 15:52Speaker 2: I was also wondering what your favorite treeouse of horror
- 15:54Speaker 2: is the first one. Who will be the villain in
- 15:56Speaker 2: the new Simpsons movie? Will there be a villain?
- 15:57Speaker 1: Will the villain be the Simpsons family themselves? We shall
- 16:00Speaker 1: find out? Oh wow, that was web the villains I've
- 16:05Speaker 1: done off I've spoken about this. I like the idea
- 16:09Speaker 1: of like a member of the Quimby family running for
- 16:14Speaker 1: office presidential yeah, or maybe just even like mayor of
- 16:21Speaker 1: Springfield or governor of the state in which Springfield is
- 16:24Speaker 1: in against Quimby, Yeah, and sort of like time of
- 16:28Speaker 1: the next generation of Quimber and yeah, but they're just
- 16:31Speaker 1: you know, gross and vile and even more corrupt than Quimby.
- 16:34Speaker 1: I mean Quimby, for all his faults, he's he's basically
- 16:37Speaker 1: just like, I'll take a little bit of graft and
- 16:38Speaker 1: I'll sleep around of my wife. He doesn't seem like
- 16:40Speaker 1: a totally corrupt politician. Where the normal stuff, yeh, normal
- 16:46Speaker 1: acceptable levels of graft. Whereas you know, yeah, this new
- 16:50Speaker 1: version of young Quimby is kind of like, I don't
- 16:52Speaker 1: care what I've got to do to get to the top,
- 16:54Speaker 1: and once I'm in, yeah, he'll say any parallels to
- 16:59Speaker 1: real life a completely unintentional but yeah, he says whatever
- 17:02Speaker 1: anyone wants to say to get to power. It's almost
- 17:06Speaker 1: like you knows when mister Burns was running for office
- 17:09Speaker 1: and like, mister Burns, your campaign as a run a metem,
- 17:12Speaker 1: runaway fragran but Homer gets sucked in is like and
- 17:16Speaker 1: it becomes all kind of maggarish, you know, but it
- 17:19Speaker 1: feels very of the moment, and twentyth from now we
- 17:22Speaker 1: look back and go, what the fuck was this? Maybe,
- 17:24Speaker 1: but I think stories of sort of political corruption. People
- 17:26Speaker 1: getting duped are kind of evergreen. Don't make it too
- 17:29Speaker 1: obvious a comparison to anyone who's currently in power. But
- 17:36Speaker 1: I mean the last villainy it was it was Russ
- 17:39Speaker 1: Cargill right in the movie. I thought it should have
- 17:41Speaker 1: been Hank SCORPIONO. It's like, yeah, who was kind of
- 17:44Speaker 1: like a corporate guy, wasn't I mean, I can't remember.
- 17:46Speaker 1: It's just I have Albert Brooks really sure he ran
- 17:49Speaker 1: the organization that that put the dome over Spingfield. Okay,
- 17:54Speaker 1: I mean either that or something tech bro ish. I have,
- 17:57Speaker 1: like a this is how unimagined if storyteller I am.
- 18:00Speaker 1: I mean, your villain has either got to be like
- 18:02Speaker 1: a Donald Trump or anyone Musk essentially.
- 18:05Speaker 2: Yeah, I know, I just feel like maybe I feel
- 18:07Speaker 2: like you're just going to alienate too many people by
- 18:09Speaker 2: doing that, and you're gonna get people. You're gonna start
- 18:11Speaker 2: conversations that don't need to be started when you're thinking
- 18:13Speaker 2: of the Simpsons. Okay, that's my opinion. I would try
- 18:15Speaker 2: and keep politics as far away from it as possible,
- 18:18Speaker 2: because the first one was very politically motivated that the
- 18:21Speaker 2: government's come in to put the Dominus like, ah, can
- 18:24Speaker 2: we just have it? Can it just be I know,
- 18:26Speaker 2: you want to have a grand story for a movie. Yeah,
- 18:28Speaker 2: but you can still have a grand story and keep
- 18:30Speaker 2: it Springfield related. Don't have to bring in out the government.
- 18:34Speaker 2: Why does it always have to have the governments involved?
- 18:36Speaker 1: Just make it make it a story. Well, either that
- 18:39Speaker 1: or I know it's already sort of been done on
- 18:42Speaker 1: the show, but an expanded version of it. It's like
- 18:45Speaker 1: it's a mad mad mad med world kind of thing
- 18:47Speaker 1: or rat race, like a treasure hunt or a road movie.
- 18:50Speaker 1: Like so when the cat burglar has the treasure hitting
- 18:54Speaker 1: under a big tea, that's exactly it. Yeah, yeah, that
- 18:56Speaker 1: could have been a movie that episode reviewed it, but
- 18:59Speaker 1: that one's have a vigilante.
- 19:01Speaker 2: Yeah yeah. When episode we reviewed, I was like, this
- 19:03Speaker 2: could literally have been the Sinces movie Surest and Best
- 19:06Speaker 2: Chairs of Horror Best Chairs were I think is still
- 19:08Speaker 2: my favorite is number six because the first one I
- 19:10Speaker 2: was allowed to watch. I've said this, it's the one
- 19:11Speaker 2: that has the three D Homer, the giant billboards that
- 19:14Speaker 2: come to life, and the nightmare and Alm Street parody.
- 19:16Speaker 2: But I think number five will always be the best
- 19:18Speaker 2: that has the shinning the Toasta as the time machine
- 19:21Speaker 2: and ends with Nightmad Cafeteria. I think that's just the
- 19:23Speaker 2: perfect combination of everything that you want. I like the
- 19:25Speaker 2: one that you mentioned this starting with Nightmare on Elm Street.
- 19:27Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely, that's.
- 19:28Speaker 2: Great Jesse, g Hay Brody, Hey Guy, and Dando. With
- 19:31Speaker 2: the recent anniversary of Phil Hartman's passing, it got me
- 19:33Speaker 2: thinking about the time Josh Weinstein told you about the
- 19:37Speaker 2: Josh the trom McClure spinoff idea, which got me thinking
- 19:40Speaker 2: which Springford resident could successfullly have their own spinoff in
- 19:42Speaker 2: twenty twenty six. Thanks for the many hours of last Jesse,
- 19:45Speaker 2: which peing for character in twenty twenty six could have
- 19:47Speaker 2: their own Spinoff's it gonna be someone that you don't
- 19:50Speaker 2: I don't think it's gonna be one of the true
- 19:52Speaker 2: main characters. I think it's someone could cope we have
- 19:55Speaker 2: his own show.
- 19:56Speaker 1: He's the first person that springs demand on me for
- 19:58Speaker 1: some reason. But I think he is just a nice
- 20:01Speaker 1: little sprinkling sprinkling of spice.
- 20:04Speaker 2: I think I think you could surround him with original
- 20:07Speaker 2: characters and have him as like the the anchor of
- 20:09Speaker 2: like this is the guy from the Simpsons universe and
- 20:11Speaker 2: bring in sort of like more nerd based cad can't
- 20:13Speaker 2: big bank theory, I guess you because it was a
- 20:15Speaker 2: guy Stewart or whatever. He's coin book store.
- 20:17Speaker 1: Yeah, but I think for me just a comic book
- 20:20Speaker 1: store is a cool starting point, sure, or for a comedy.
- 20:26Speaker 1: But could you do a lot with because what would
- 20:29Speaker 1: a Simpsons spin off be? It couldn't be as wacky
- 20:32Speaker 1: as the Simpsons show, could it? Could you have it
- 20:34Speaker 1: more grounded? I don't know. Could you have a hospital
- 20:37Speaker 1: show with with Hibbert, like the Pit, Yeah, something with
- 20:43Speaker 1: Patty and Selma. Yeah. Brockman, Oh yeah, Brockman news bas Yeah, yeah, anyway,
- 20:52Speaker 1: Brockmen's a good one, like the Newsroom. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 20:55Speaker 1: that'd be fantastic. Michael Kilsner, could you see yourself being
- 20:58Speaker 1: friends with Bart if you in Springfield? I think it
- 21:01Speaker 1: would be inappropriate given that I'm an old Yeah, yes,
- 21:03Speaker 1: put yourself into your ten year old self. Would you
- 21:05Speaker 1: have been friends with Bart? I don't know. I don't
- 21:09Speaker 1: think so. I don't think because he's getting too much
- 21:12Speaker 1: mischief and I wouldn't like and I would be another
- 21:14Speaker 1: one for it. I'm too much of a Millhouse. Yeah,
- 21:17Speaker 1: which means maybe you would be friends. Maybe I would be,
- 21:19Speaker 1: but yeah, I don't want I wouldn't want to be
- 21:21Speaker 1: in the blast radius of Bart's many antics. Yeah, getting
- 21:25Speaker 1: in trouble all the time? Correct, Rebecca Manetta? What a name?
- 21:28Speaker 1: Rebecca Manetta? Hi, Hi, Dando and guy.
- 21:32Speaker 2: I only discovered your podcast a few months back after
- 21:34Speaker 2: seeing some reels pop up on Instagram, and I'm so excited.
- 21:36Speaker 2: I have ten years of shows to catch up on.
- 21:38Speaker 2: I still listen to the new ones as they come out,
- 21:40Speaker 2: and then go back and make my way through the
- 21:41Speaker 2: old ones.
- 21:42Speaker 1: Well done to you, Dando for cutting those reels and
- 21:44Speaker 1: getting new people into the phone.
- 21:46Speaker 2: Becka Manetta, I'm thirty five years old, so I find
- 21:48Speaker 2: many of Dando's stories from his childhood relatable because I
- 21:50Speaker 2: experienced many of the same things. And I'm in awe
- 21:53Speaker 2: of guys movie knowledge. I've learned so much in such
- 21:55Speaker 2: a short time. My question is, if The Simpsons were
- 21:57Speaker 2: a new show's launching in twenty twenty six, who do
- 21:59Speaker 2: you think think Bart's idol would be? A YouTuber let's
- 22:02Speaker 2: play a gamer. I think it'd be a YouTube street artist,
- 22:06Speaker 2: YouTube street arts.
- 22:07Speaker 1: I guess there are. Yeah, peoples go around you do
- 22:09Speaker 1: a graffiti art? I don't. Yeah, a TV clan wouldn't
- 22:12Speaker 1: work in twenty twenty six list No, not well maybe
- 22:15Speaker 1: not even a TV sort of carracter. I think it
- 22:17Speaker 1: would definitely be more so an online personality, whether it's
- 22:20Speaker 1: some kind of influencer podcaster. Yeah, well, yeah, that's the thing.
- 22:23Speaker 1: He'd be really into Danelle guy like all the kids are.
- 22:28Speaker 1: Would you even have an idol? Would he be like
- 22:33Speaker 1: doing his own staff? Would he be out like live
- 22:35Speaker 1: streaming and shit? Probably maybe yeah, the bark, but he'd
- 22:40Speaker 1: have to have someone like you'd want to aspire to,
- 22:42Speaker 1: Like I'm going to be the next Mister Beast or
- 22:44Speaker 1: I'm going to be the next Logan Pole. Yeah, I'll
- 22:48Speaker 1: be both Paul brothers. Yeah, in one go, I'll box
- 22:51Speaker 1: and wrestle. I'm sure there are others. Yeah, we do it.
- 22:58Speaker 1: We do it if we doing subway takes. Ah. Yeah.
- 23:02Speaker 1: But yeah, Rebecca Manetta would be an online personality. Yeah,
- 23:06Speaker 1: we have to say both names because it's just so cool. Yeah,
- 23:09Speaker 1: it wouldn't be a TV clown or even a TV
- 23:11Speaker 1: personality I think, or a TV star. It would be
- 23:14Speaker 1: a YouTube personality. Timothy Durkin, Hey, guys, I loved your
- 23:19Speaker 1: recent discussion on a potential sequel to Part Versus Australia,
- 23:22Speaker 1: and was wondering, besides the main family, which Simpson's character
- 23:24Speaker 1: do you think would enjoy living in Australia the most
- 23:28Speaker 1: I can see Mo like coming down and starting up
- 23:30Speaker 1: some out back pub. That's actually a really good idea.
- 23:32Speaker 1: I think you would like that. He'd like the rough
- 23:34Speaker 1: and tumble of the Aussie out back, and you know
- 23:37Speaker 1: he'd be insulting people who like, Yeah, good idea. Moe
- 23:40Speaker 1: becomes Yeah, Moe becomes an outback pub middle of Australia
- 23:45Speaker 1: like Wolf Creek.
- 23:48Speaker 2: We just want to enjoys, like the surfy style, maybe motto.
- 23:52Speaker 2: I was trying to think he's more drug culture. Yeah,
- 23:55Speaker 2: well that's he goes like Byron or something.
- 23:58Speaker 1: Yeah. Is he a surfing You know, you feel like
- 24:00Speaker 1: he's not really outdoors guys, He's just a los to
- 24:03Speaker 1: get high. Yeah. And the thing we don't have as
- 24:06Speaker 1: many festivals as we used to, like it'd come out
- 24:08Speaker 1: of the likes of rock or whatever. Yeah, Flanders comes
- 24:10Speaker 1: out and establishes like an American competitor Hillsong. Yeah, I'm
- 24:17Speaker 1: surprised they haven't done a return to Australia. I feel
- 24:20Speaker 1: like they will eventually because it's just such a core
- 24:22Speaker 1: fan base in Australia and Rand the word of course.
- 24:24Speaker 1: But yeah, I feel like, yeah, the Simpsons had to
- 24:26Speaker 1: return to Australia. But yeah, thanks of the question, Timothy.
- 24:28Speaker 1: This next one here, Kristin Bolch. The Simpsons have been
- 24:31Speaker 1: renewed through to season forty, which I'm excited about, but
- 24:34Speaker 1: many are not. Do you think the show's longevity has
- 24:36Speaker 1: helped or hurt its legacy? Well, there's yeah, that's an
- 24:40Speaker 1: interesting question.
- 24:42Speaker 2: I feel like if The Simpsons had have ended in
- 24:45Speaker 2: say two thousand, then it would just it would be
- 24:48Speaker 2: a relic now and I don't think people would be
- 24:52Speaker 2: talking about The Simpsons as much as they do now.
- 24:53Speaker 2: People like to hate on it, saying it should have ended,
- 24:55Speaker 2: but I think the fact that it's still on TV
- 24:57Speaker 2: has kept it.
- 24:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I think it would still have I think of it, yeah,
- 25:03Speaker 1: cut out maybe. Yeah, as you said, in the year
- 25:05Speaker 1: two thousand or whatever, it would still have a life.
- 25:07Speaker 1: It would be you know, revived through sort of like
- 25:10Speaker 1: the way I say thirty Rock is you're always seeing
- 25:13Speaker 1: clips well, I certainly am in my algorithm on social
- 25:17Speaker 1: media of like various clips and thirty rocks, Like, god,
- 25:20Speaker 1: the show is really great and here's why they're not
- 25:23Speaker 1: using the same clips over and over and over again.
- 25:25Speaker 1: But no one under the age of twenty nights what
- 25:27Speaker 1: thirty rockies though, that's correct. Yeah, but it's almost like
- 25:30Speaker 1: if you know, you know, it's like, this is a
- 25:32Speaker 1: really good example of really good sitcom storytelling and that
- 25:35Speaker 1: kind of thing. And I think people would do that
- 25:36Speaker 1: with The Simpsons. They would sort of pick out the
- 25:38Speaker 1: best business, go we don't know how good we had it, Like, oh,
- 25:40Speaker 1: imagine this went on for another twenty or so years.
- 25:46Speaker 2: But still, as we say, though, the Simpsons on their
- 25:48Speaker 2: worst day is still better than a lot of television.
- 25:50Speaker 1: Absolutely, yeah. And it's ebbing and flowing, as you and
- 25:53Speaker 1: you've said many times a lot of recent episodes, it
- 25:55Speaker 1: feels like it's trying new things and it's making a
- 26:00Speaker 1: bit of a comeback comedically speaking.
- 26:02Speaker 2: So you know, one idea they haven't done yet, which
- 26:04Speaker 2: I hope they do soon. They did it with one
- 26:08Speaker 2: of the shows Elliott likes on Netflix. It's a drussy
- 26:11Speaker 2: park show called Like Chaos, theory or camp cretation cretations. Yeah,
- 26:14Speaker 2: and as to choose your own adventure. So basically it's
- 26:16Speaker 2: on Netflix, and it was like, what do you think
- 26:18Speaker 2: happens next? Do they go onto the roller coaster or
- 26:20Speaker 2: do they run into the manhole? And you literally choose
- 26:23Speaker 2: what happens, and if you choose the wrong thing like
- 26:25Speaker 2: the dinosaur gets yet or whatever. I think if Simpsons
- 26:28Speaker 2: choose your own adventure it can be traced hoe Iver
- 26:30Speaker 2: you wanted to be but a Simpsons special on Disney
- 26:32Speaker 2: plaster words to choose your own adventure would.
- 26:33Speaker 1: Be a lot of fun. Sure, well, And the other
- 26:35Speaker 1: thing Simpsons is well known enough quote unquote ip that
- 26:40Speaker 1: you can take fun risks with things like that, you know,
- 26:43Speaker 1: your or fun chances. It's like, well, I'm not going
- 26:46Speaker 1: to be led too far Australia the Simpsons, you know
- 26:48Speaker 1: that really steers me wrong. So yeah, use that to
- 26:53Speaker 1: use that clout you've got and yeah, take a few risks.
- 26:55Speaker 2: I think the new Simpsons movie is going to do
- 26:57Speaker 2: a lot to really introduce a younger generation to the
- 27:00Speaker 2: Simpsons show in general. Oh yeah, because they rely heavily
- 27:03Speaker 2: on the parents who grew up with it to show
- 27:05Speaker 2: the kids they do.
- 27:06Speaker 1: It's not just going to be the movie itself that
- 27:09Speaker 1: everything there marketing around. I mean they're going to if
- 27:12Speaker 1: they're smart, and they are smart, they'll start early and
- 27:15Speaker 1: they'll are doing Monopoly Fortnite. Yeah, but they'll be getting
- 27:18Speaker 1: the kids in now. They will be reminding everyone of
- 27:21Speaker 1: like it's Party of Life. Everybody loves the Simpsons. Here's
- 27:25Speaker 1: why you love it, here's why you should continue to
- 27:27Speaker 1: love it, and here's why she goes to this movie.
- 27:28Speaker 1: So yeah, expect over the coming year or so, just
- 27:31Speaker 1: a lot of reminders of reasons why you have liked
- 27:36Speaker 1: it for so man years and reminders of reasons of
- 27:38Speaker 1: why it's been around for so long. I think that's
- 27:40Speaker 1: the case.
- 27:41Speaker 2: And the Simpsons license with Universal and soon at the
- 27:45Speaker 2: Universal Studio. Oh okay, And there's been rumors that they're
- 27:49Speaker 2: going to scrap the Simpsons World at Universe, which makes
- 27:51Speaker 2: sense because it's not a Universal license. Correct, It makes
- 27:53Speaker 2: sense why Universe would want to keep them around. But
- 27:55Speaker 2: if the contract's going to be out, apparently they're not
- 27:57Speaker 2: going to be knew it. You can image they're going
- 27:59Speaker 2: to be a Simpsons lif and at Disney World.
- 28:01Speaker 1: Why would you not.
- 28:02Speaker 2: You got this ip thats just everyone loves. And there's
- 28:05Speaker 2: a Simpsons Land at Universe. But it's like it's a
- 28:07Speaker 2: little area. You can build an entire park exactly. Yeah,
- 28:10Speaker 2: it really lends itself to it as well. It's big,
- 28:12Speaker 2: it's bright, it's colorful, you know.
- 28:13Speaker 1: And you itchy and scratchy lott and yeah exactly. But
- 28:17Speaker 1: you know, you get some minimum wage acted to put
- 28:20Speaker 1: on the Homer suit and they'll go around give hugs.
- 28:23Speaker 1: Well you do that.
- 28:24Speaker 2: Universal they have the Sisters family walking around in the
- 28:26Speaker 2: suits and whatnot, and they had the Simpsons. They've got
- 28:29Speaker 2: a couple of kids rides, and they got the Simpsons
- 28:31Speaker 2: three D ride, which was the original Back to the
- 28:33Speaker 2: Future ride at Universal Studios, and they just rebranded a
- 28:35Speaker 2: Simpsons one. And there's been rumors that once Simpsons goes
- 28:38Speaker 2: going to go back to back to the Future, because
- 28:40Speaker 2: what they did about twenty years ago that was like
- 28:42Speaker 2: all these movies Jaws Back to the Future.
- 28:45Speaker 1: No one likes that shit anymore. Let's get rid of
- 28:47Speaker 1: all these rides and let's bring in you know, these simulators.
- 28:49Speaker 1: Everyone loves simulators from three D glasses those things. And
- 28:54Speaker 1: now it's got to a point where they've gone, oh fuck,
- 28:57Speaker 1: it's the fiftieth anniversary of Jaws. We have a fucking
- 28:59Speaker 1: Jaws right now, and he guess what, people are still
- 29:02Speaker 1: talking about Jaws.
- 29:03Speaker 2: Yeah, and people don't want simulators so that they but
- 29:06Speaker 2: people going, we're gonna go full circle, you know, back
- 29:09Speaker 2: to the right. So they're saying that the Simpsons, right
- 29:11Speaker 2: is gonna go back to being back to the future.
- 29:14Speaker 2: Oh shit, people do like these amazing les, yeah, because
- 29:18Speaker 2: they just thought Neurer is better. And sometimes when a
- 29:20Speaker 2: clock stop broke, and don't tipicate with it, you know
- 29:21Speaker 2: what I mean. Yeah, So I can see the Simpsons
- 29:25Speaker 2: getting their own land at Disney World, which I think
- 29:26Speaker 2: would be pretty exciting.
- 29:27Speaker 1: Absolutely. Yeah. Oh well, if they're smart, they're working on
- 29:30Speaker 1: it now and they'll have things. But the time the
- 29:32Speaker 1: movie comes out, all yeah, it comes with it.
- 29:34Speaker 2: It makes sense though, like we'll touch in on how
- 29:35Speaker 2: Fortnite and whatnot. It's a year and a half before
- 29:38Speaker 2: the Simpsons movie comes out. But getting kids hooked on
- 29:40Speaker 2: Simpsons just introducing them to the Simpsons. Some of them
- 29:43Speaker 2: might not even know what it is and what Simpsons are.
- 29:45Speaker 2: Oh wait, there's eight hundred episodes to watch on Disney Plus.
- 29:48Speaker 2: I might check it out. Uh this one here, Jasper.
- 29:51Speaker 2: A lot of people seem to hate on Lisa and
- 29:53Speaker 2: Lisa episodes. But do you think she's a more interesting
- 29:55Speaker 2: character than.
- 29:56Speaker 1: But it is? I think yeah, it depends on how
- 29:59Speaker 1: she's deployed, of course, but it's such a pointless character
- 30:01Speaker 1: at this point, kind of Yeah, he's really just you know,
- 30:06Speaker 1: pranks and catchphrases, it seems. I mean, if they do
- 30:09Speaker 1: elements of good kid in there, oh yeah, absolutely, there
- 30:13Speaker 1: are times when it's done, and when it's done well,
- 30:14Speaker 1: it works, Yeah, fantastically. I want to be all baby,
- 30:18Speaker 1: so it's Marge being not proud. Yeah, yeah, I mean
- 30:20Speaker 1: that works great. But I think Lisa has sort of
- 30:23Speaker 1: more intellectual and emotional depth that can occasionally manifest itself
- 30:27Speaker 1: as like she's a nod all in a bit of
- 30:28Speaker 1: a pain in the ass. But I think it's also
- 30:31Speaker 1: you know, she's a smart and sensitive person, not necessarily
- 30:35Speaker 1: trapped in this family situation, but you know she's the
- 30:38Speaker 1: odd one out in this situation. So I think that
- 30:41Speaker 1: gives you a lot of storytelling scope. It allows you to,
- 30:43Speaker 1: you know, for her to go out and explore other things,
- 30:48Speaker 1: and it allows you to bring more into the Simpsons
- 30:52Speaker 1: by way of her. So yeah, I mean, I think
- 30:54Speaker 1: she's on the service. He has a more interesting character,
- 30:57Speaker 1: and I think she has the potential to, yeah, be
- 31:00Speaker 1: something a really good storytelling device for the Simpsons, just
- 31:04Speaker 1: not occasionally not use that well.
- 31:06Speaker 2: She just sometimes she's designed to be older than what
- 31:09Speaker 2: she is, which can be a problem there is that.
- 31:11Speaker 2: Do you think if they could go back and change
- 31:13Speaker 2: anything about The Simpsons, it would be they would add
- 31:15Speaker 2: a teenage child.
- 31:18Speaker 1: I think Bart, for all his youthful stuff, is essentially yeah,
- 31:22Speaker 1: essentially plays as a teenager all the time. But that
- 31:24Speaker 1: both yeah, actually should have actually made her a Yeah,
- 31:31Speaker 1: a thirteen year old or a fourteen year old? Would
- 31:34Speaker 1: the cimisons I've worked with a teenage kid? Do you think?
- 31:39Speaker 1: I don't know. Yeah, it's tough because, as we were
- 31:42Speaker 1: just saying, we're so used to the way things are
- 31:46Speaker 1: it can be hard to sort of wrap your mind
- 31:48Speaker 1: around an alternative version of that. It's a fun thought experiment,
- 31:51Speaker 1: but it's also you guys have done such a great
- 31:54Speaker 1: job establishing these characters and bringing them to life and
- 31:57Speaker 1: fleshing them out over the course of so many years
- 32:00Speaker 1: that what would the alternative be. I can't recall an
- 32:04Speaker 1: episode where they showed the Simpsons kids as teenagers, not
- 32:08Speaker 1: eighteen nineteen year olds, but just you know, thirteen, fifteen,
- 32:11Speaker 1: thirteen forty year olds. What are you talking about, like
- 32:13Speaker 1: alternative reality episode?
- 32:14Speaker 2: Yeah, yes, Flush Fowards, Well it because I can't recall
- 32:17Speaker 2: them being just young teenagers. I'd like to see them
- 32:19Speaker 2: what they're like when they're just starting high school?
- 32:21Speaker 1: Yeah? Do we see the kids?
- 32:23Speaker 2: Has there been an episode episode with the Simpsons attending
- 32:26Speaker 2: high school? That'd be interesting? Simpson's all grown up? Yes,
- 32:32Speaker 2: But that is the all the questions that have been
- 32:34Speaker 2: sent through to the mail bag this month. Thank you
- 32:35Speaker 2: guys for setting through those. Thanks for those guys.
- 32:38Speaker 1: That's great, you know, and not just the are your
- 32:41Speaker 1: intelligent and insis questions, but just the really positive feedback. Yeah,
- 32:44Speaker 1: it means a lot to me, means a lot to Dando.

- 34:07Speaker 2: walking in and he was like Simpsons guy. I was
- 34:10Speaker 2: like yeah, and we just hang out.
- 34:11Speaker 1: We've talked. Did he say, where's go? How's guy doing?
