1995's Get Shorty
This week, Phil and Dave revisit Get Shorty (1995), Barry Sonnenfeld’s slick crime-comedy based on the novel by Elmore Leonard. Join us as we break down John Travolta’s cool-as-ice performance as Chili Palmer, the film’s all-star cast including Gene Hackman, Danny DeVito, Rene Russo, Delroy Lindo, James Gandolfini and Dennis Farina, and why this Hollywood satire remains one of the smartest and funniest mob movies of the 1990s. We discuss memorable scenes, standout performances, movie industry satire, and whether Get Shorty deserves a permanent spot on every movie lover’s shelf.
