- 1:12Speaker 5: man who is not what he wants to be, but
- 1:15Speaker 5: is way grateful that is not who he used to be.
- 1:19Speaker 2: Here, all right, welcome in. It's Kevin mchella. It's That
- 1:26Speaker 2: Kevin Show. We've got a lot to get to and friends,
- 1:29Speaker 2: I'm gonna keep harping on something that you know the
- 1:31Speaker 2: President did yesterday. I was on Newsmax last night with
- 1:36Speaker 2: Bill Spadia filling in for mister Henry, and at the
- 1:41Speaker 2: end of the night, I still believe just as strongly
- 1:46Speaker 2: today as I did yesterday that there is something very
- 1:51Speaker 2: important happening with the President's shutting down the House and
- 1:58Speaker 2: Senate passage of the housing legislation so that the most
- 2:03Speaker 2: important thing can get pasted. And I don't know why, Cedar,
- 2:08Speaker 2: why Leader John Thune is being the way he's being
- 2:11Speaker 2: in the Senate. I was hopeful that he would be
- 2:15Speaker 2: a stronger leader, I hope. I was hopeful that he
- 2:18Speaker 2: would have a stronger idea of how to whip votes
- 2:22Speaker 2: in his conference. What I'm what I'm basically learning is
- 2:28Speaker 2: that we are we're we are watching fecklessness take a
- 2:36Speaker 2: back seat to leadership. And I don't I don't like that.
- 2:41Speaker 2: I want Senator Thune to explain to his caucus, especially,
- 2:45Speaker 2: but to also modern sense Democrats, common sense Democrats, that
- 2:50Speaker 2: by avoiding an easy vote on an eighty twenty issue
- 2:56Speaker 2: with the electorate, that he is the embodiment of establishment
- 3:02Speaker 2: dysfunction that elected President Trump in the first place. The
- 3:07Speaker 2: reason why he won the last three elections is because
- 3:11Speaker 2: of this type of behavior from John Thune, and the
- 3:15Speaker 2: President understands that with the rise of the Communists in
- 3:19Speaker 2: New York, with the rise of the Marxists in California,
- 3:24Speaker 2: you're going to have wherever you can actually put partisanship
- 3:31Speaker 2: in control and have one party rule, you're going to
- 3:33Speaker 2: have people that rig the system. So you're going to
- 3:36Speaker 2: have election months instead of election day, and there'll be
- 3:41Speaker 2: no cutoff for when ballots need to be in by
- 3:44Speaker 2: They'll just keep counting and counting and counting and counting
- 3:48Speaker 2: and counting. And the President, by doing what he's done
- 3:52Speaker 2: in the last twenty four hours, has made an enormous
- 3:56Speaker 2: statement of just how hard he's willing to fight to
- 3:59Speaker 2: make sure we get clean and fair elections, and he's
- 4:02Speaker 2: got an ally or two that are doing something about it.
- 4:05Speaker 2: Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna says that the House will hold
- 4:12Speaker 2: up every piece of legislation until the Save America Act passes.
- 4:16Speaker 2: On their side of the representative bodies, the Senate, all
- 4:23Speaker 2: the pressures coming down on Senator Thune and the Republicans
- 4:28Speaker 2: and the few common sense Democrats that we can and
- 4:31Speaker 2: John Fetterman's willing to vote with us on this is
- 4:34Speaker 2: this is an eighty twenty issue. Democrats, Independents, and Republicans
- 4:39Speaker 2: all want it. But Congresswoman Luna was asked some very
- 4:43Speaker 2: pointed questions, and I thought gave some good answers earlier today.
- 4:45Speaker 6: Get a long supporter of the Save America Act. We
- 4:48Speaker 6: know the issues in the Senate with the few senators
- 4:52Speaker 6: that are not voting for it. Why shut the floor down?
- 4:55Speaker 7: What's there so they're not going to be able to
- 4:58Speaker 7: do it in reconciliation the Senate over a bill and
- 5:01Speaker 7: the House leadership actually suspended our rules, meaning they changed
- 5:04Speaker 7: it to where they knew they didn't have the votes
- 5:06Speaker 7: on this parliamentary procedure because there is a group of
- 5:09Speaker 7: Republicans rightfully, so they're saying that we're not going to
- 5:11Speaker 7: pass the Senate legislation for their mid term you know,
- 5:14Speaker 7: campaign promises to their people, because we know that they're
- 5:16Speaker 7: lying on the back end and not passing an eighty
- 5:19Speaker 7: twenty issue that the American people, whether you're Democrat, Republican
- 5:22Speaker 7: or independent, overwhelmingly want, and so in us shutting down
- 5:25Speaker 7: the floor a it's showing that they're not going to
- 5:26Speaker 7: be able to get done what they want to get done.
- 5:28Speaker 7: And I really applaud the President for saying that he's
- 5:30Speaker 7: not going to sign it into law. I think that
- 5:31Speaker 7: he reserves the right to veto, and either which way,
- 5:34Speaker 7: you can see that Foon is kind of squirming right now.
- 5:36Speaker 3: Now.
- 5:36Speaker 7: I want to warn the American people that you cannot
- 5:38Speaker 7: place Save America Act on reconciliation. It's not possible to
- 5:41Speaker 7: be done. So we're not drinking the kool aid on that.
- 5:43Speaker 7: Unless the Senate decides to fire the parliamentarian, nothing will change.
- 5:47Speaker 7: And so they don't get to go home and say
- 5:49Speaker 7: that they're getting wins for the American people when they're
- 5:51Speaker 7: not even able to deliver on an eighty twenty issue.
- 5:53Speaker 6: What's going on in terms of that judge that rule
- 5:56Speaker 6: that you cannot require proof of citizenship to register to vote.
- 5:59Speaker 6: Does that play into the fact that there could be
- 6:01Speaker 6: a legal challenge on the same game.
- 6:03Speaker 7: Maybe, but it doesn't mean that you don't do anything.
- 6:05Speaker 7: And I think that it should be right for the
- 6:06Speaker 7: courts to actually rule this. Every other country in the world,
- 6:09Speaker 7: for the most part, requires voter ID. You have to
- 6:11Speaker 7: have literally, I mean you saw at the Barack Obama Library.
- 6:14Speaker 7: You have to have an idea to get in, and
- 6:16Speaker 7: yet they're saying that it's racist. I mean, that's so
- 6:18Speaker 7: entirely toned up here. I'm Hispanic, I'm a Female'm the veteran.
- 6:21Speaker 7: I literally check all the boxes.
- 6:22Speaker 4: I'm not dumb.
- 6:23Speaker 7: I can figure out how to get proof of you know,
- 6:25Speaker 7: citizenship and also voter idea to go vote. So it's
- 6:28Speaker 7: just it's a retarded argument.
- 6:29Speaker 6: And what do you think of the senators who are
- 6:31Speaker 6: the holdouts on the Save America Act? Why do you
- 6:34Speaker 6: think they're not getting behind this in the Senate and
- 6:37Speaker 6: pushing it forward.
- 6:38Speaker 7: Well, there's zero reason because eighty percent, as CNN had stated,
- 6:42Speaker 7: want this to be done. Okay, so there's no reason
- 6:44Speaker 7: I would start looking into who they're taking money from
- 6:46Speaker 7: and if it's a corruption issue. But what I will
- 6:48Speaker 7: say is that if Food would embrace the talking filibuster,
- 6:51Speaker 7: change the parliamentary if we could get it done. And
- 6:53Speaker 7: he's not, so you should ask yourself why is a
- 6:55Speaker 7: Senate Republican not doing his job. The President's been very clear.
- 6:58Speaker 7: The President did the right thing by removing the signing.
- 7:01Speaker 7: He's not playing these games anymore. And I'm going to
- 7:02Speaker 7: fully back them, and I have the books to do it.
- 7:05Speaker 2: All right. So that's Congresswoman Ana Luna, and she's going
- 7:08Speaker 2: to keep the House from being able to conduct business
- 7:13Speaker 2: until this is addressed. And friends, this may be the
- 7:18Speaker 2: fight of the lifetime when it comes to the most
- 7:21Speaker 2: important political issue of our time. If you do not
- 7:25Speaker 2: have an election that you trust, there is no use
- 7:28Speaker 2: in even having elections. If you cannot trust the verification
- 7:33Speaker 2: of who's voting, and if you cannot demonstrate that you
- 7:38Speaker 2: have integrity in that process, there's nothing about the process
- 7:42Speaker 2: that's worth holding onto that's genuinely true. And that's why
- 7:50Speaker 2: a housing bill that may or may not help people,
- 7:54Speaker 2: and interest rate other things, none of that matters. The
- 7:57Speaker 2: people that are supposedly passing laws may not even be
- 8:00Speaker 2: lawfully elected to pass them. And this is why the
- 8:05Speaker 2: President is so determined to see this happen. And I
- 8:11Speaker 2: back him one thousand percent on this. This is not
- 8:15Speaker 2: this is not something that persecutes one group of people
- 8:20Speaker 2: over another. Every voter demographic, Democrat, independence, Republicans all say
- 8:27Speaker 2: that voter ID is a is a starter. It's eighty
- 8:31Speaker 2: percent of the country wants it. Whichever political party you're in,
- 8:36Speaker 2: and there's no other way of putting it. This is
- 8:41Speaker 2: an issue literally that Senator thun is for whatever reason.
- 8:46Speaker 2: Maybe it's because Mitch McConnell doesn't like Trump. Maybe it's
- 8:49Speaker 2: because they're just people that are cranky in the Senate
- 8:52Speaker 2: and they don't want to they don't want to see
- 8:54Speaker 2: the President get a win. This will be one of
- 8:56Speaker 2: the most monumental things he accomplishes when this passes, because
- 9:00Speaker 2: it will save the future of elections. Elections will be
- 9:05Speaker 2: much harder to play games with. And that's why people
- 9:08Speaker 2: are fighting it so hard. That's why politicians are fighting
- 9:11Speaker 2: it so hard. They like rigging the game. They like
- 9:15Speaker 2: having the original count going on and on and on
- 9:18Speaker 2: and on for weeks until you just somehow miraculously find
- 9:22Speaker 2: enough votes to rub the Republican right out of the race.
- 9:27Speaker 2: You just saw it happen in California. The whole nation
- 9:29Speaker 2: watched it happen. In twenty twenty, we now have proof
- 9:33Speaker 2: in the state of Georgia that it happened. You got
- 9:36Speaker 2: to have only citizens voting, and only citizens who are
- 9:42Speaker 2: registered to vote should be voting, and every voter should
- 9:46Speaker 2: be able to prove who they are. It's just the starting.
- 9:49Speaker 2: It's the bare minimum. Kevin mccalloch coming right back. It's
- 9:52Speaker 2: that Kevin show.
- 10:11Speaker 1: Here he is from New York.
- 10:16Speaker 2: Kevin McCullough all right, welcome man, It's Thursday. We've got
- 10:19Speaker 2: a big show yet to come. Lots of news and
- 10:22Speaker 2: breaking stuff to talk about, and you know, the Spreme
- 10:26Speaker 2: Court is supposed to be handing stuff down. We're gonna
- 10:28Speaker 2: hopefully get to cover some of that before the day
- 10:31Speaker 2: is done. But Andrew Columbia is back with us in
- 10:34Speaker 2: our segment called how do We Live? And this is
- 10:37Speaker 2: the segment where we stop everything else and we ask
- 10:41Speaker 2: this big question before we move on to anything else,
- 10:44Speaker 2: and that is very simply, how do we live if
- 10:47Speaker 2: we are people of Jesus, if we are God's people?
- 10:51Speaker 2: How do we live in a culture that dislikes him,
- 10:54Speaker 2: sometimes hates him, sometimes is hostile towards him, also his
- 10:59Speaker 2: word and sometimes us. How do we go about constructing
- 11:03Speaker 2: our life so that we are on mission, doing the
- 11:07Speaker 2: gospel and doing what is most beneficial for those around us.
- 11:10Speaker 2: That's kind of the questions that we're asking in these
- 11:14Speaker 2: segments each day. And we've been in Romans thirteen this week.
- 11:16Speaker 2: And Andrew is the senior pastor at Mount Carmel Bible
- 11:19Speaker 2: Church in Mount Carmel, New York. Andrew former NYPD as well,
- 11:23Speaker 2: Government relating to the believer and the believer relating to
- 11:26Speaker 2: government is always seemingly a controversial subject. I was just
- 11:30Speaker 2: on a call yesterday with some staff members who are
- 11:33Speaker 2: talking to some pastors about becoming partners with the show.
- 11:36Speaker 2: And there's actually pastors that are a little bit afraid
- 11:38Speaker 2: of talking about public policy or some of the things
- 11:42Speaker 2: that our culture faces. But the church is meant to
- 11:45Speaker 2: be salty, aren't we? So that brings us to verse
- 11:49Speaker 2: four today.
- 11:50Speaker 8: Yeah, Kevin, let's let's dive right in looking forward to it.
- 11:53Speaker 2: Go ahead, all.
- 11:54Speaker 8: Right, Roman's thirteen four For he is God's servant to
- 11:58Speaker 8: you for good, but if you do wrong, you should
- 12:01Speaker 8: be afraid. But he does not carry the executioner's sword
- 12:05Speaker 8: for nothing. Is God's servant and avenger who brings punishment
- 12:10Speaker 8: on the wrong doer.
- 12:12Speaker 1: So what's the key thought there?
- 12:14Speaker 8: I read it from the amplified version. It means this
- 12:17Speaker 8: that the civil authority is God's servant to you for good,
- 12:21Speaker 8: but also an avenger who brings punishment on the wrong doer.
- 12:25Speaker 8: And you mentioned something earlier, Kevin, about the culture of
- 12:28Speaker 8: our nation and especially the younger generation today, understand authority
- 12:34Speaker 8: correctly and what it means to be corrected and and
- 12:37Speaker 8: to have someone in a position over you that has
- 12:39Speaker 8: the ability to lead you in that right direction.
- 12:44Speaker 2: That's important. And I think that's a problem with the
- 12:46Speaker 2: culture today. Well, so we're we're always wanting to be
- 12:53Speaker 2: relevant and on a practical matter, Andrew, there's this element
- 12:58Speaker 2: that we can we can have of the right mindset.
- 13:04Speaker 2: We can in our heart say we're going to harbor
- 13:06Speaker 2: the right feeling and desire to do the right thing.
- 13:11Speaker 2: It is another thing for us to actually live this out.
- 13:15Speaker 2: And as it pertains to today's verse, sometimes I feel
- 13:19Speaker 2: like government doesn't want to do what is good for me.
- 13:26Speaker 2: And I agree that we should. You know, if we
- 13:30Speaker 2: choose to do wrong, criminals should fear justice. That's that's
- 13:36Speaker 2: that's but I don't I don't consider that a bad thing.
- 13:39Speaker 2: Like I think that that fear is restraining power against
- 13:45Speaker 2: evil expanding in our culture. And when we understand our
- 13:48Speaker 2: proper relationship to law, into the and to the legal
- 13:51Speaker 2: authorities and to the government, we actually make society safer,
- 13:55Speaker 2: and I think more god like in the process. Am
- 13:58Speaker 2: I just completely out to launch on this.
- 14:00Speaker 8: No, I think you're right on target, Kevin. I think
- 14:02Speaker 8: that's so important that we understand. And yes, you know,
- 14:06Speaker 8: I think the overarching theme here though again the word
- 14:09Speaker 8: is always the foundational blueprint for the believer, is that
- 14:14Speaker 8: it's part of God's restraining order against chaos. I mean,
- 14:18Speaker 8: even though not old, governmental authority has good motives and
- 14:21Speaker 8: intense maybe we can question it. A lot of people
- 14:25Speaker 8: do on a regular basis.
- 14:26Speaker 2: God is the one who established it, and.
- 14:29Speaker 8: That's why even in throughout chapter thirteen of Romans he
- 14:33Speaker 8: says that people in leadership are God's ministers. And again
- 14:37Speaker 8: let's reflect on the fact that Paul wrote this during
- 14:41Speaker 8: the Roman Empire and the reign of Nero, Right, So,
- 14:45Speaker 8: I mean, that's pretty clear about divine order and the
- 14:49Speaker 8: reason for governmental authority the way it's being purposed and
- 14:52Speaker 8: phrased here in scripture in the proper Condott.
- 14:54Speaker 2: Let's look at a few other insights that you've highlighted
- 14:57Speaker 2: here about this verse, in particular the word word servant.
- 15:00Speaker 2: I was just talking. I ran my oldest son to
- 15:04Speaker 2: camp today where he's serving as a counselor. And we
- 15:07Speaker 2: were talking about how the counselors in training are not
- 15:11Speaker 2: allowed to be commanded by the counselors to help them
- 15:14Speaker 2: with tasks. And I said, you know, if you are
- 15:17Speaker 2: a servant leader to the counselors in training, they'll voluntarily
- 15:21Speaker 2: want to help you with tasks. And I was talking
- 15:25Speaker 2: about the idea of servant leadership. But that word servant
- 15:28Speaker 2: is used a lot. Paul uses it a lot, Jesus
- 15:31Speaker 2: used it a lot. This is an important concept for us,
- 15:35Speaker 2: But he actually calls government, the civil authority, God's servant
- 15:40Speaker 2: to us. What does he mean with that word here? Yeah,
- 15:43Speaker 2: that's great.
- 15:43Speaker 1: Again.
- 15:44Speaker 8: From the Greek, the word means a minister and attendant,
- 15:47Speaker 8: one who serves with a purpose. And that is so
- 15:51Speaker 8: important that we understand God's moral purposes again which we
- 15:55Speaker 8: mentioned several times already, by protecting good and restraining evil.
- 16:00Speaker 8: You know, I think when it comes to biblical framework,
- 16:03Speaker 8: Christians fall short in concepts. In other words, when someone
- 16:07Speaker 8: would ask me this question, what does it mean to
- 16:09Speaker 8: be a Christian? How would I answer that? How would
- 16:12Speaker 8: I respond? What does the Bible teach us about that?
- 16:15Speaker 8: I use three words. When someone asks me, what does
- 16:18Speaker 8: it mean to be a Christian? Well, it means that
- 16:20Speaker 8: I'm an ambassador for the Kingdom of God.
- 16:22Speaker 1: I represent the Kingdom.
- 16:24Speaker 2: I'm a stewart.
- 16:25Speaker 8: Everything I own belongs to God and I steward it
- 16:29Speaker 8: for his purposes. And I'm a servant. I'm called to
- 16:32Speaker 8: serve others. Jesus modeled servant leadership at its best. Paul
- 16:37Speaker 8: follows Jesus. He says, follow me as I follow Christ.
- 16:40Speaker 8: We see this model in Scripture, and I think understanding
- 16:44Speaker 8: the proper framework of our identity as Christians gives us
- 16:48Speaker 8: better insight to using this text properly and in applying
- 16:52Speaker 8: it to our lives. Because you know, when we read Scripture,
- 16:55Speaker 8: it's not just information, it's revelation that we are to
- 16:58Speaker 8: apply to our lives.
- 17:00Speaker 1: So how do we apply it?
- 17:02Speaker 8: You know, read, reflect, respond upon it, and apply it.
- 17:05Speaker 8: That's important. So it's that biblical blueprint and framework that
- 17:09Speaker 8: we need to grab hold of as of identity in Christ.
- 17:12Speaker 2: That's how I see it. Yeah. Verse four also says
- 17:16Speaker 2: that for those who do wrong, he God's God himself
- 17:22Speaker 2: does not carry the executioner's sword for nothing. I mean
- 17:26Speaker 2: that sounds intimidating it's supposed to.
- 17:29Speaker 8: Yeah, absolutely, I mean sword is makira a short sword
- 17:32Speaker 8: a symbol of real enforcement. Authority without consequence becomes suggestion,
- 17:39Speaker 8: and that's so important.
- 17:40Speaker 2: You know, I was a police officer. I wore a uniform,
- 17:42Speaker 2: a badge, a gun, I.
- 17:43Speaker 8: Had a belt with different pieces of equipment on that belt.
- 17:46Speaker 8: Those that uniform that authority had power to be executed
- 17:51Speaker 8: that went along with it. So it's important that we
- 17:55Speaker 8: understand that governing authorities do have power.
- 17:58Speaker 2: And again that's one of those that restrains bad and
- 18:02Speaker 2: helps good prosper. But you also go on to say
- 18:05Speaker 2: that the civil servant is also God servant. The verse
- 18:10Speaker 2: says an avenger who brings punishment. Now an avenger, you know,
- 18:15Speaker 2: I immediately think of Captain America and Iron Man, right?
- 18:19Speaker 2: Is that this isn't far off from that? Actually? Is it?
- 18:22Speaker 9: No?
- 18:22Speaker 2: Absolutely not.
- 18:24Speaker 8: Why do people love these type of characters because they
- 18:27Speaker 8: see the justice prevailing in the midst of great evil.
- 18:30Speaker 8: And that word avenger in the Greek is ed decos,
- 18:34Speaker 8: which means one who just executes justice or penalty. So
- 18:39Speaker 8: Paul saying that government has a legitimate role in punishing
- 18:42Speaker 8: evil it's important that we understand that a lot of
- 18:45Speaker 8: people don't have that framework or mindset when it comes
- 18:48Speaker 8: to government. But that's what Paul is teaching us here.
- 18:51Speaker 1: Through this verse.
- 18:52Speaker 8: So God gives government authority to reward what is good,
- 18:55Speaker 8: restrain what is evil, and preserve civil order. Without divine order,
- 19:00Speaker 8: there's always chaos.
- 19:01Speaker 2: And chaos is where the enemy thrives. So let me
- 19:04Speaker 2: ask you this. All your years on the force and
- 19:06Speaker 2: now you're in the pulpit, there's always these debates that
- 19:12Speaker 2: people that I think are more theoretical and insulated in
- 19:16Speaker 2: their style of living than most of us like to have.
- 19:20Speaker 2: You know, they sit in their ivory towers, they discuss
- 19:22Speaker 2: theories of law enforcement and laws and so forth. Does
- 19:26Speaker 2: the enforcement of law truly help reduce crime?
- 19:31Speaker 8: In my perspective from my experience as a police officer
- 19:35Speaker 8: and pastor and chaplain. Absolutely, And again, you know, we
- 19:40Speaker 8: see in scripture there's examples of the Roman centurion, who
- 19:44Speaker 8: was someone in authority who governed over people who are
- 19:48Speaker 8: not his own people. He governed over Jews, but because
- 19:51Speaker 8: of the way he exercised his authority in a good way,
- 19:56Speaker 8: honoring their God, we see that they came under his
- 20:00Speaker 8: authority and served him well.
- 20:02Speaker 2: So when you know how to.
- 20:04Speaker 8: Use authority correctly and you stand for justice and righteousness,
- 20:08Speaker 8: there is responsibility, power, and execution that is exhibited through that.
- 20:13Speaker 2: That's through my well. You actually say, when government protects
- 20:17Speaker 2: life and punishes crime, and defends the innocid and promotes justice,
- 20:20Speaker 2: it is operating within its God given lane. And that
- 20:23Speaker 2: might be a very pagan government that doesn't even acknowledge him.
- 20:27Speaker 2: But if they're doing those things, they're doing God's will
- 20:31Speaker 2: for the people because it is the right thing. All right,
- 20:34Speaker 2: We've got a lot more to get to on tomorrow's
- 20:36Speaker 2: big Weekend, a week ending edition of How Do We Live?
- 20:39Speaker 2: We'll look at verse five. But Andrew Columbia, thank you
- 20:42Speaker 2: for all that you've done this week. We appreciate it.
- 20:44Speaker 2: Thank you, Kevin, it's been a pleasure. You got it.
- 20:46Speaker 2: Kevin McCulloch coming right back from Times Square.
- 20:48Speaker 1: Don't go out, stick around for more than Kevin.
- 20:54Speaker 10: Next here he is from New York.
- 21:14Speaker 1: Kevin McCullough.
- 21:27Speaker 2: All right, welcome back, Kevin McCullough. Glad to have you
- 21:29Speaker 2: with us. We have much to get to on the show.
- 21:32Speaker 2: In fact, coming up the top of the next hour.
- 21:35Speaker 2: I've got another headline that really should have been bantied
- 21:38Speaker 2: far and wide. It wasn't, but I will because I
- 21:42Speaker 2: think it's that important. So that's a little bit of
- 21:45Speaker 2: a hint a mystery. Come join us as we're kicking
- 21:50Speaker 2: off a brand new week. I just want you to
- 21:52Speaker 2: remember the kids in the Agent Tree camping program, and
- 21:57Speaker 2: I'm asking for your help. I'm asking for your help
- 22:00Speaker 2: to bless the child. I'm asking for your help to
- 22:03Speaker 2: bless the mom and dad. The moms and dads in
- 22:08Speaker 2: this scenario are interesting because they're obviously flawed people. They
- 22:13Speaker 2: ended up in prison, but they are also seeking redemption
- 22:18Speaker 2: in that they have gone through the prison Fellowship discipleship program,
- 22:23Speaker 2: the Bible study program, and upon completion of that, they
- 22:26Speaker 2: have been given the opportunity to nominate their child for
- 22:32Speaker 2: a week of camp. Now, not all prisoners do it.
- 22:38Speaker 2: Some have a lot of shame still attached to what
- 22:40Speaker 2: they're dealing with, and they don't. But the parents that
- 22:45Speaker 2: have have specifically nominated their children because there's two things
- 22:50Speaker 2: that they want out of this. They want their child
- 22:52Speaker 2: to find the same Jesus that they have found, and
- 22:56Speaker 2: they want their child to know that their mom and
- 22:58Speaker 2: dad have thought of them, and the only way that
- 23:03Speaker 2: they get to have Angel Tree Camp these kids is
- 23:07Speaker 2: if mom and dad do this. Please go to that
- 23:10Speaker 2: Kevinshow dot com. Please click the banner at the top
- 23:13Speaker 2: of the page. Please be as generous as you can.
- 23:16Speaker 2: There's no random company out there looking for, you know,
- 23:20Speaker 2: children of convicts that are just putting people on buses
- 23:24Speaker 2: and sending them to camp. This is a very personal,
- 23:28Speaker 2: one on one parent to child gift that you get
- 23:32Speaker 2: to facilitate in the process of your gift. And I
- 23:36Speaker 2: just want you to imagine what it's like to join
- 23:40Speaker 2: my campaign and send prisoners kids for a week of fun,
- 23:44Speaker 2: fresh air, Christ centered activities, life transformation in terms of recreation,
- 23:52Speaker 2: but relationships, counselors, fellow campers. So go to that kevinshow
- 23:57Speaker 2: dot com click on the Angel Tree banner at the top.
- 23:59Speaker 2: In the short time I've been telling you about it,
- 24:02Speaker 2: We've sent over fifty seven children to camp this month,
- 24:07Speaker 2: but I've got about another one hundred and a couple
- 24:11Speaker 2: still waiting. Every year, Angel Try Camp gets these kids
- 24:15Speaker 2: out of bed, out of bad neighborhoods, and away from
- 24:19Speaker 2: gangs and drugs and whisks them out into the fresh air.
- 24:24Speaker 2: They get to experience what it is to be around
- 24:27Speaker 2: Christian counselors and adults and people that are wise, and
- 24:32Speaker 2: they so desperately need this interaction. The transformation that can
- 24:36Speaker 2: happen in only one week of camp is really heartwarming,
- 24:40Speaker 2: and you're wondering how much impact your donation might have. Well,
- 24:43Speaker 2: listen to the words of a friend from fellow Prison Fellowship.
- 24:47Speaker 2: David moy is one of the people at Prison Fellowship,
- 24:53Speaker 2: and he had these thoughts about what it means.
- 24:57Speaker 11: You know, I gave my life to Christ when I
- 24:59Speaker 11: was a teenager at it Christian camp, so I personally
- 25:01Speaker 11: know the power of what God can do at camp.
- 25:03Speaker 11: I mean, you can only do three things as your money.
- 25:05Speaker 11: You can spend it, you can save it, or you
- 25:06Speaker 11: can give it. And I think giving it to an
- 25:09Speaker 11: angel Tree camping scholarship is going to be the best
- 25:12Speaker 11: week of somebody's year. It's going to be a break
- 25:15Speaker 11: from chaos that they wouldn't otherwise have. And that's money
- 25:18Speaker 11: money well given, moneymil well spent.
- 25:21Speaker 2: I really think it is. If you're talking about return
- 25:23Speaker 2: on investment in terms of the amount of change and
- 25:25Speaker 2: impact you have on the life of the child. A
- 25:28Speaker 2: scholarship funded by a gift from you will bless one
- 25:31Speaker 2: kid with an entire week of Angel Tree Camp. Your
- 25:34Speaker 2: donation of two hundred dollars, and if you need to
- 25:36Speaker 2: make that in a single gift, or you need to
- 25:38Speaker 2: make it in two months at one hundred dollars each,
- 25:41Speaker 2: or four months at fifty dollars each, whatever you need
- 25:43Speaker 2: to do, but a two hundred dollars gift from you
- 25:46Speaker 2: will combine to get these kids to camp. But you'll
- 25:51Speaker 2: be sending a full child yourself with your two hundred
- 25:54Speaker 2: dollars gift, And we need to do this. Time is
- 25:57Speaker 2: running out, obviously, we've hit June. The camping season is
- 26:02Speaker 2: upon us. We want to make sure that we get
- 26:03Speaker 2: all the kids there that we can. Please go to
- 26:06Speaker 2: that kevinshow dot com. Please click the banner at the
- 26:09Speaker 2: top of the page. Please be as generous as you can,
- 26:12Speaker 2: and once again that Kevinshow dot com. The Angel Tree banner.
- 26:16Speaker 2: It's it's at the top, it's it's animated so it
- 26:19Speaker 2: looks like a little cartoon. Just click on that, click
- 26:22Speaker 2: through give your gift. It takes two minutes to do
- 26:26Speaker 2: and friends, I kid you not, this will be one
- 26:28Speaker 2: of the most meaningful things, if not the most meaningful
- 26:33Speaker 2: thing that will happen to the child that receives it
- 26:35Speaker 2: for the whole year that they wouldn't they wouldn't have
- 26:42Speaker 2: any other concept of what summer would be like if
- 26:45Speaker 2: you don't get them to Angeltree camp. And the idea
- 26:48Speaker 2: that we can do that and bless them in this
- 26:50Speaker 2: way is just truly astounding. So please go and make
- 26:54Speaker 2: the call right now. I'm sorry, don't make the call.
- 26:57Speaker 2: Go to the website that kevinshow dot com, that kevinshow

- 27:06Speaker 2: joy of Jesus in the process. Okay, friends, here's the

- 27:27Speaker 12: Right back here.
- 28:11Speaker 1: He is from New York that Kevin McCullough.
- 28:18Speaker 2: Welcome back to That Kevin Show, That Kevin Show dot
- 28:21Speaker 2: Com for everything you need related to the show. Always
- 28:25Speaker 2: trying to keep our eye on as many important issues
- 28:27Speaker 2: across the board as we can. Sometimes it's the top
- 28:30Speaker 2: headline of the day. Sometimes it's stuff that's buried in
- 28:33Speaker 2: the back pages where the mainstream media will never cover it.
- 28:37Speaker 2: And in the twenty twenty four election, one of the
- 28:39Speaker 2: things that I think I singularly harped on that very
- 28:43Speaker 2: few did in the media is the whole issue of
- 28:46Speaker 2: protecting our daughters, protecting their safe spaces, protecting the integrity
- 28:50Speaker 2: of their lives through having agency over themselves, and what
- 28:57Speaker 2: that means when you're coming in up against this gender
- 28:59Speaker 2: ideal stuff that has really seemed to sweep the nation,
- 29:03Speaker 2: and you know, everybody thought, well, getting Trump elected would
- 29:07Speaker 2: solve it. He has certainly helped. He's done everything that
- 29:09Speaker 2: he can as the president to lean and kind of
- 29:12Speaker 2: lead in the right direction. But there are still states
- 29:16Speaker 2: that are not There are still municipalities that are choosing
- 29:19Speaker 2: to be obstinate about this and near Judishpende rejoins us
- 29:23Speaker 2: from the Independent Women's Forum to discuss all of this.
- 29:26Speaker 2: It's good to see you. You're telling me in the
- 29:30Speaker 2: break that the problem now is New Mexico. What are
- 29:35Speaker 2: the New Mexican state authorities doing?
- 29:38Speaker 9: Yeah, so New Mexico has all sorts of policies as
- 29:42Speaker 9: many blue states do, that you know, essentially allows schools
- 29:48Speaker 9: and in some ways almost not quite mandate but quasi
- 29:53Speaker 9: mandate to just let the school trans kids behind parents' backs.
- 30:00Speaker 9: Have these sorts of policies on the books that allow
- 30:04Speaker 9: schools to just.
- 30:05Speaker 4: Get get away with that sort of thing.
- 30:08Speaker 9: And then you know, you also have just a failure
- 30:11Speaker 9: to protect women's spaces, a failure to protect girl spaces,
- 30:15Speaker 9: a failure to protect children.
- 30:18Speaker 4: And ultimately, I mean the.
- 30:20Speaker 9: Schools there are really not doing well to begin with.
- 30:23Speaker 9: They are ranked at the very very bottom and education,
- 30:27Speaker 9: so you have to wonder, you know, why are the
- 30:29Speaker 9: school focusing on trans and kids and you know, promoting
- 30:34Speaker 9: this ridiculous ideology when they should.
- 30:37Speaker 4: Be teaching kids how to read and focusing on that.
- 30:40Speaker 2: As someone who watches education closely across the country, what
- 30:44Speaker 2: is your answer to that question? Why are they doing it?
- 30:47Speaker 2: What would they say is the reason for emphasizing that
- 30:51Speaker 2: using state resources on that, using time and money on that,
- 30:56Speaker 2: as opposed to helping their kids do better on reading
- 31:00Speaker 2: and writing and science and history.
- 31:03Speaker 4: I think it's ideology.
- 31:04Speaker 9: I think it's that there's a few committed ideologues sitting
- 31:09Speaker 9: in these schools. I don't think most teachers are activists.
- 31:12Speaker 9: I don't think most teachers are even necessarily hyper liberal.
- 31:16Speaker 9: I don't think most constituents agree. In fact, Independent Women
- 31:19Speaker 9: has done a lot of polling that shows that, you know,
- 31:23Speaker 9: most New Mexicans do not want kids transd without parental
- 31:27Speaker 9: consent in schools.
- 31:29Speaker 4: But what's happening is that, you know, you have a
- 31:33Speaker 4: small minority.
- 31:34Speaker 9: Of activists, and those activists just control everything.
- 31:37Speaker 4: They dominate everything.
- 31:39Speaker 9: I mean, I don't know, if you saw the New
- 31:40Speaker 9: York elections a couple of days ago, yes, yeah, I mean,
- 31:46Speaker 9: oh yeah.
- 31:46Speaker 4: Yeah, you're yeah.
- 31:48Speaker 9: I mean it's crazy, right, Like you have these insane
- 31:51Speaker 9: socialists being elected to power, are almost elected. I think
- 31:56Speaker 9: there are some primaries that are effectively going to go
- 31:58Speaker 9: to Democrats and the but you have these you have
- 32:02Speaker 9: these completely insane people, and I mean the majority of
- 32:07Speaker 9: New york Is didn't vote for that, right, you know,
- 32:10Speaker 9: you actually it's there's still a lot of normal people
- 32:14Speaker 9: who don't want that, who don't want crazy socialists running everything,
- 32:18Speaker 9: but unfortunately they're loud, and whoever's loudest wins.
- 32:21Speaker 4: And I think that's really what's happened in New Mexico.
- 32:24Speaker 2: But at some point, you're just there's got to be
- 32:26Speaker 2: like a baseline of fact that we all start with.
- 32:30Speaker 2: And the truth is, you can't change a chromosome that
- 32:35Speaker 2: is coded the way it's coded. And whatever else you
- 32:39Speaker 2: do to the body, however else you want to change it,
- 32:41Speaker 2: the chromosome in itself you cannot change. And at the
- 32:44Speaker 2: end of the day, that's what determines who and what
- 32:47Speaker 2: we are.
- 32:48Speaker 9: Yeah, I entirely agree, and I mean I think we
- 32:52Speaker 9: are unfortunately a post fact society. We're also increasingly a
- 32:57Speaker 9: post literate society, which you know, people, you know, I
- 33:00Speaker 9: in New Mexico is certainly not doing a good job
- 33:02Speaker 9: at that either.
- 33:03Speaker 4: You know, it's not I'm from.
- 33:05Speaker 2: Massa stupid and keep the population uneducated and then we
- 33:08Speaker 2: can do whatever we want to to them.
- 33:09Speaker 4: I don't even know if it's that. I don't think
- 33:12Speaker 4: it's even that deliberate.
- 33:13Speaker 9: I just think, you know, I mean I'm from Massachusetts,
- 33:15Speaker 9: which actually does have very good schools despite them being
- 33:18Speaker 9: like off the rails crazy, and so one thing I've
- 33:20Speaker 9: noticed is that people have just got in I mean
- 33:23Speaker 9: more dumbed down, even very very smart people. And I
- 33:26Speaker 9: don't just mean like credential people. I mean people who
- 33:27Speaker 9: I actually consider intelligent, who who do know things about
- 33:31Speaker 9: the world, who do read, who do you know, like,
- 33:34Speaker 9: we're good people. But this ideology, it's so it's so
- 33:38Speaker 9: brain rotting. I think ultimately, you know, you're told to
- 33:42Speaker 9: just not believe you're lying eyes and at some point
- 33:45Speaker 9: that starts to drive you crazy.
- 33:47Speaker 2: And I think it's the fear that they're also going
- 33:48Speaker 2: to be slandered, that you're going to be called a bigot,
- 33:50Speaker 2: that you're going to be in some way perceived as hateful,
- 33:54Speaker 2: regardless of fact, like you don't hate anybody. In fact,
- 33:58Speaker 2: my desire to have a boy free bathroom for my
- 34:01Speaker 2: daughter stems out of great love for my daughter. I'm
- 34:06Speaker 2: sorry that the boy has confusion and misunderstanding of what
- 34:09Speaker 2: he perceives himself to be. Not my daughter's problem, nor
- 34:13Speaker 2: should it be any other daughter's problem.
- 34:16Speaker 4: No, And it's also not compassionate for the boy.
- 34:18Speaker 9: Right, it's not compassionate to I mean, they call it
- 34:21Speaker 9: gender affirming care, right, we need to affirm these kids,
- 34:25Speaker 9: but you're actually just affirming a falsehood.
- 34:29Speaker 4: That's just lying there. You can't affirm something that's false.
- 34:33Speaker 2: Whatf has done too with the work with the D
- 34:35Speaker 2: transitioners is that you guys have exposed the reality that
- 34:40Speaker 2: the gender affirming side of the equation pushes people into
- 34:44Speaker 2: the transition transition, transition transition. But if they have a
- 34:48Speaker 2: qualumn of conscience, if they have a moment of the
- 34:50Speaker 2: way they say I'm not sure about this anymore, I'm
- 34:52Speaker 2: not sure I want to do this, there is zero
- 34:55Speaker 2: help getting them back to base level. And and that's
- 35:00Speaker 2: where I think this is so insidious, because once you
- 35:03Speaker 2: introduce hormones and puberty blockers and surgeries and other things,
- 35:08Speaker 2: you have now begun to permanently scar their biology in
- 35:12Speaker 2: ways that has life long consequences to it. I just
- 35:17Speaker 2: think that's criminal.
- 35:18Speaker 4: It is.
- 35:19Speaker 9: But I mean, on a hopeful note, you know, Texas
- 35:23Speaker 9: has now opened the first D transitioner clinic, so they're
- 35:28Speaker 9: trying to actually, you know, put funds and research and
- 35:32Speaker 9: medical care toward the care of D transitioners.
- 35:36Speaker 4: I think you know every state.
- 35:39Speaker 2: Yeah, all right near to Diishbrande. I always appreciate your contributions.
- 35:43Speaker 2: Thank you for being here.
- 35:44Speaker 4: Thank you so much for having me.
- 35:45Speaker 12: Got it.
- 35:45Speaker 2: Kevin mckellaugh coming back from New York.
- 35:47Speaker 3: Don't go away, stick around for more fat Kevin next.
- 36:04Speaker 13: Serving it up. It's a no drink minim. It's that
- 36:09Speaker 13: Kevin that show.
- 36:11Speaker 2: All right, Kevin kellas, I'd have you with us. It's
- 36:14Speaker 2: that Kevin show, that kevinshow dot com for everything related,
- 36:17Speaker 2: including helping us get these final kids. There are now
- 36:22Speaker 2: forty seven that still need someone to speak for them
- 36:26Speaker 2: for summer camp, and we have through the end of
- 36:28Speaker 2: the week. Friends, we could do this. We could do this.
- 36:30Speaker 2: We are within range. If just forty seven people listening
- 36:34Speaker 2: to the sound of my voice would say, I'll take
- 36:36Speaker 2: care of one child, I'll get one child to camp,
- 36:39Speaker 2: we could do this. We could actually do this. It
- 36:42Speaker 2: looked like when we were early on that we weren't
- 36:44Speaker 2: going to come anywhere near our goal because they had
- 36:47Speaker 2: some broken phone lines and there were some other problems.
- 36:50Speaker 2: But friends, you've made a valiant effort and now there
- 36:52Speaker 2: are one hundred and fifteen kids that are going to
- 36:56Speaker 2: summer camp, and we're so grateful for that, but that
- 36:59Speaker 2: means there are forty seven that have not been spoken for,
- 37:02Speaker 2: forty seven children whose parents are in prison that will
- 37:06Speaker 2: not get to experience a week of Christian camp where
- 37:09Speaker 2: the gospel will be presented to them, where they will
- 37:12Speaker 2: have the chance to make friends, friends who understand and
- 37:17Speaker 2: can identify with what they're going through in life because
- 37:19Speaker 2: they're going through the same thing. And counselors at the
- 37:24Speaker 2: camp that formerly were Angel Tree kids and know what
- 37:27Speaker 2: these kids are going through and loving on them and
- 37:29Speaker 2: answering their questions and helping them and forming lifelong relationships
- 37:33Speaker 2: with them. Friends. Here, my sixteen year old who's a
- 37:37Speaker 2: counselor this year at a Christian camp. He just started
- 37:40Speaker 2: and he came home. He came home the other day
- 37:44Speaker 2: after the first day of camp and I said what
- 37:48Speaker 2: was it like? And he said, Dad, I felt so good.
- 37:52Speaker 2: And I said, why do you feel good? He goes
- 37:54Speaker 2: because there was a kid who was really sad and
- 37:59Speaker 2: he had lost his backpack and we were everybody was,
- 38:03Speaker 2: you know, uh, pretty busy and everything else. He said,
- 38:06Speaker 2: I just took the time and I walked around with
- 38:09Speaker 2: him and I helped him find it and I found
- 38:11Speaker 2: it and we found the backpack and he said thank
- 38:14Speaker 2: you to me, and he was so grateful and it
- 38:17Speaker 2: just it just changed his whole day. He said, Dad,
- 38:19Speaker 2: that's why I do camp. Friends, the counselors at the
- 38:22Speaker 2: Angel Tree Camp are like that on steroids. These kids
- 38:26Speaker 2: didn't lose backpacks. They've lost their lives. Their parents are
- 38:30Speaker 2: in prison, and the counselors are walking around loving on them,
- 38:34Speaker 2: praying with helping them understand what the gospel means for them,
- 38:39Speaker 2: introducing them to Jesus, helping them to find Jesus when
- 38:43Speaker 2: their parents have just found Jesus in prison and they
- 38:45Speaker 2: want and they want their kids to find Jesus. They
- 38:47Speaker 2: don't want, they don't want their kids to find Jesus
- 38:49Speaker 2: in prison. They want their kids to find Jesus out
- 38:51Speaker 2: of prison. And that's what the Angel Tree counselors are
- 38:55Speaker 2: helping them do. And friends, this is this is just
- 38:57Speaker 2: a life changing experience. And we had a list of
- 39:01Speaker 2: one hundred and sixty two names and there are forty
- 39:04Speaker 2: seven names left on that list. And we have today, Tomorrow, Saturday,
- 39:08Speaker 2: and Sunday. We are done on Sunday, I need your
- 39:11Speaker 2: help now. I need your help to go and to
- 39:16Speaker 2: help a child get to camp. It is urgent that
- 39:21Speaker 2: we do this. We cannot sit on our loyal We
- 39:23Speaker 2: cannot just let these kids be ignored and rot in
- 39:26Speaker 2: there not great places all summer. They're going to have
- 39:31Speaker 2: a lot of time to spend in those places. Let's
- 39:32Speaker 2: get them to a Christian camp for a week. And
- 39:35Speaker 2: it's only two hundred dollars. If you were to try
- 39:37Speaker 2: to put a kid in a camp around here in
- 39:41Speaker 2: the Tri State area, it would cost you five hundred
- 39:43Speaker 2: to one thousand dollars depending on the camp, just for
- 39:45Speaker 2: the week of camp. But here you have the opportunity
- 39:49Speaker 2: to help a child find Jesus and the outdoors and
- 39:56Speaker 2: God and his creation and all the good things that
- 39:59Speaker 2: He's done for them. You have a chance to help
- 40:01Speaker 2: them do that right now. Go to that kevinshow dot com,

- 40:21Speaker 2: We need your help. And I'm just hopeful and prayerful
- 40:26Speaker 2: that forty seven people between now and Sunday will hear

- 42:03Speaker 5: to be, but is way grateful that is not who
- 42:07Speaker 5: he used to be.
- 42:09Speaker 1: Here.
- 42:14Speaker 2: All right, welcome man, Calvin mccallough. Glad you're with us.
- 42:16Speaker 2: It is a busy, busy day, lots of Supreme Court
- 42:20Speaker 2: decisions being handed down. Uh and right now it looks
- 42:24Speaker 2: like the Trump administration is having a very good season
- 42:27Speaker 2: at the Supreme Court. Let me just identify some of
- 42:31Speaker 2: the cases that he has won at the Supreme Court
- 42:34Speaker 2: in the last twenty four hours. Today, the Supreme Court
- 42:37Speaker 2: handing down two major immigration victories to the administration. One,
- 42:43Speaker 2: in the Mullen versus Altro Lotto case, the Court held
- 42:47Speaker 2: that migrants who were turned away at the border before
- 42:50Speaker 2: entering the United States are in fact not entitled to
- 42:52Speaker 2: apply for asylum. Uh So, if you're if you have
- 42:56Speaker 2: to be turned away at the border before entering the
- 42:59Speaker 2: un US, asylum does not apply to you. And that
- 43:03Speaker 2: that is that is that. In the second case, Mullen
- 43:06Speaker 2: versus do the Court ruled that Haitian and Syrian nationals
- 43:09Speaker 2: in the United States with temporary protected status are not
- 43:13Speaker 2: entitled to judicial relief postponing the revocation of their status
- 43:17Speaker 2: while they challenged the administration's efforts to revoke it in court.
- 43:20Speaker 2: So these were two These two cases really identified kind
- 43:25Speaker 2: of stalling tactics that the that they had that they
- 43:32Speaker 2: had that they had put in place to try to
- 43:35Speaker 2: get more people here. And so you stall and then
- 43:39Speaker 2: you can bring more people and more people that qualify
- 43:41Speaker 2: under these situations can stay because they're in the class
- 43:44Speaker 2: action that's being held up. The Supreme Court said, nope, uh,
- 43:48Speaker 2: this is very clear. You may be returned to your country.
- 43:52Speaker 2: The Supreme Court also said last night, and this is
- 43:55Speaker 2: this is an even bigger win, that the administration is
- 44:00Speaker 2: not bound by a judge a lower court had put
- 44:04Speaker 2: in place, had blocked the executive branch's actions when the
- 44:10Speaker 2: when the administration had aliens who were so heinous, rapists, murderers,
- 44:16Speaker 2: people committing homicide, people committing battery, committing people committing rape,
- 44:21Speaker 2: that when these people had committed these things and were
- 44:24Speaker 2: not here legally and they were so heinous that their
- 44:28Speaker 2: home country would not take them back, the president had
- 44:32Speaker 2: attempted to send them to third party places like the
- 44:36Speaker 2: prison in El Salvador or some places on the African
- 44:39Speaker 2: continent that have agreed to work with us and help us.
- 44:42Speaker 2: The lower court said, no, that's that's that's cruel and unusual.
- 44:46Speaker 2: You can't do that. But of course that court said
- 44:49Speaker 2: nothing about how cruel and unusual it was that these
- 44:51Speaker 2: people were coming here illegally and then committing murder and
- 44:54Speaker 2: rape and those types of things. So this is this
- 44:57Speaker 2: is the Supreme Court saying no, the President can send
- 45:03Speaker 2: them to a place to keep Americans safe that is
- 45:07Speaker 2: not their home country because their home country refuses to
- 45:10Speaker 2: take them, and he has the right to do that.
- 45:13Speaker 2: That was last night. The Supreme Court has handed a
- 45:16Speaker 2: third or a fourth case down in just the last
- 45:20Speaker 2: few minutes that the President the administration is going to
- 45:25Speaker 2: be happy about. They ruled against the state of Hawaii,
- 45:30Speaker 2: granting concealed carry holders a big victory in a Blue
- 45:35Speaker 2: State sixty three decision on Thursday. The Court sided with
- 45:38Speaker 2: the plaintiff in Wolford versus Lopez, who contested Hawaii state's
- 45:43Speaker 2: law requiring a property owner's explicit permission to allow gunful
- 45:48Speaker 2: lawful gun owners to bring firearms into public businesses. Hawaii's
- 45:52Speaker 2: law at issue here violates the constitutional right to keep
- 45:55Speaker 2: and bear arms, said Justice Samuel Alito. The regime, this
- 46:00Speaker 2: regime hobbles what the Second Amendment protects the right of
- 46:04Speaker 2: Americans to carry arms for self defense as they go
- 46:07Speaker 2: about living their daily lives. This ruling reverses a decision
- 46:10Speaker 2: by the US Court of Appeals from the Ninth Circuit,
- 46:12Speaker 2: which had upheld Hawaii's restrictions after the state enacted them
- 46:16Speaker 2: in response to the Supreme Courts twenty twenty two. Brewin decision,
- 46:21Speaker 2: Bruins struck down New York's proper cause licensing requirement and
- 46:24Speaker 2: held that Americans have a constitutional right to carry handguns
- 46:27Speaker 2: outside their home for self defense. Hawaii overhauled its firearm laws.
- 46:32Speaker 2: Among the new provisions was a requirement that concealed carry
- 46:35Speaker 2: permit holders could not bring firearms onto another person's private property,
- 46:40Speaker 2: including businesses open to the public. They said, no, if
- 46:44Speaker 2: the person has the right to conceal and carry their
- 46:47Speaker 2: weapon for personal protection, they have the right to do
- 46:51Speaker 2: that anywhere. And that is consistent with what that previous
- 46:57Speaker 2: case had said, and that is the Fourth Supreme Court.
- 47:00Speaker 2: I would say Supreme Court win in the in the
- 47:06Speaker 2: you know, last two days that the President of the
- 47:10Speaker 2: administration has that that they have been the beneficiary of
- 47:14Speaker 2: because of the Court's decisions. And this is this is
- 47:18Speaker 2: really this is going to be a stream of these
- 47:21Speaker 2: here for the next little bit, because there there were
- 47:25Speaker 2: a lot of really hope, high profile cases that the
- 47:28Speaker 2: Court was going to need to decide and we're still
- 47:30Speaker 2: awaiting the decision on whether or not the word election
- 47:36Speaker 2: day in our in our founding documents means the word day,
- 47:43Speaker 2: which you know states no, the word day didn't mean day,
- 47:47Speaker 2: it meant month, it meant season, it meant I don't
- 47:51Speaker 2: know a quarter of the year. Did election day mean day?
- 47:57Speaker 2: Doesn't mean day? If it does, we're going to have
- 48:01Speaker 2: a lot of problems in places like La County, in
- 48:05Speaker 2: places like Dearborn, Michigan, and Detroit, Michigan. We're going to
- 48:12Speaker 2: have places like Cook County in Illinois. They're going to
- 48:16Speaker 2: be problematic. Minneapolis Saint Paul are going to have problems
- 48:21Speaker 2: because all of these places seem to want to interpret
- 48:25Speaker 2: election day as being some sort of amalgamation of time
- 48:29Speaker 2: that doesn't add up to twenty four hours. And the
- 48:32Speaker 2: whole purpose of an election is for candidates to campaign
- 48:37Speaker 2: so that on a given day and by a certain time,
- 48:41Speaker 2: they earned the votes that are eligible to be earned,
- 48:45Speaker 2: and has nothing to do with did everybody in the
- 48:49Speaker 2: whole state vote that had the right to vote. If
- 48:52Speaker 2: people choose not to vote, that is a vote in
- 48:54Speaker 2: and of themselves. And then the other part of what
- 48:59Speaker 2: I'm talking about of legal voting reforms is we've got
- 49:03Speaker 2: to pass the Save America Act. If you pass the
- 49:05Speaker 2: Save America Act and you have the Supreme Court come
- 49:08Speaker 2: back with day means day this country, including this year's elections,
- 49:14Speaker 2: will look very different because only registered citizens will be voting.
- 49:23Speaker 2: And that's what should happen. American citizens should be the
- 49:29Speaker 2: ones voting. Citizens registered, verifiable, we know their birth certificate,
- 49:38Speaker 2: they had an ID when they went to the poll.
- 49:42Speaker 2: That's what elections should mean. That's what it means in Florida,
- 49:46Speaker 2: by the way, And that's why they're able to count
- 49:48Speaker 2: the votes and have them counted in three and a
- 49:51Speaker 2: half hours after the polls close. This stretching it out
- 49:57Speaker 2: and taking forever and wasting time, being purposefully nebulous so
- 50:02Speaker 2: that you can, oh, well, maybe maybe some of the
- 50:06Speaker 2: mailing votes didn't come in yet. Too bad, you should
- 50:09Speaker 2: have sent them earlier. Election day means Day Save America
- 50:15Speaker 2: Act means be a citizen in order to get to vote.
- 50:19Speaker 2: And you know what, eighty seven percent of Democrats, ninety
- 50:24Speaker 2: three percent of Independence, ninety five percent of Republicans all
- 50:28Speaker 2: want that standard Day means day. Citizen means citizen, and
- 50:36Speaker 2: one vote should mean one vote. Kevin mccalluch, very glad
- 50:40Speaker 2: to have you with us. Stick with us. We've got
- 50:42Speaker 2: a big hour. Stay here.
- 50:58Speaker 1: Here he is in New York. That Kevin McCullough.
- 51:05Speaker 2: Welcome back to Times Square. It's Kevin mccullaugh. It's that
- 51:07Speaker 2: Kevin show. Glad you're with us. You know, I like
- 51:10Speaker 2: to keep you apprized of all things that are family
- 51:13Speaker 2: friendly and educational. And one of the things that I've
- 51:15Speaker 2: been doing like an addict this summer is watching historical
- 51:22Speaker 2: biographical documentaries. I've watched two or three things on Washington.
- 51:27Speaker 2: Of course, I've watched things on Hamilton and Jefferson and
- 51:30Speaker 2: the Founding Fathers. Several of the presidents I hadn't watched
- 51:33Speaker 2: anything on before Franklin Dolan, Roosevelt, Teddy Roosevelt, a number
- 51:37Speaker 2: of others in just the last few recent weeks because
- 51:41Speaker 2: in celebrating, in celebrating America two fifty, it's not just
- 51:44Speaker 2: the founding, it's also what's happened since then. But some
- 51:48Speaker 2: good friends of ours have decided they're also going to
- 51:51Speaker 2: tell more in depth detail about the founders and how
- 51:55Speaker 2: the country came to be. Kyle Justice and Sean Justice
- 51:59Speaker 2: are brothers, but they are part of two different media companies,
- 52:03Speaker 2: Compel Media and Justice Pictures, and they join us with
- 52:08Speaker 2: a very very cool idea called the Founder's Movie. If
- 52:11Speaker 2: you read my column or newsletter, you've already seen some
- 52:14Speaker 2: ads for this floating around. But Kyle and Sean welcome.
- 52:18Speaker 2: It's good to have you at that Kevin show.
- 52:20Speaker 1: Yeah, thanks, Kevin. That's going to be here.
- 52:22Speaker 14: And we're actually twins four minutes apart, born on the
- 52:25Speaker 14: same day, and.
- 52:26Speaker 2: The firstborn never fails to mention it minutes older than you.
- 52:32Speaker 3: No.
- 52:33Speaker 2: I think that my experience, though, guys, is not an
- 52:37Speaker 2: unusual one, at least for reflective people this year, because
- 52:40Speaker 2: the two fifty has really kind of opened up a
- 52:44Speaker 2: window of opportunity for people to be more curious about
- 52:47Speaker 2: what all this means. And where it came from. And
- 52:49Speaker 2: on the fourth of July, I'm going to watch the
- 52:52Speaker 2: Armada boats go through you know, the Hudson River, and
- 52:57Speaker 2: we're going to review military boats and tall ship and
- 53:00Speaker 2: all kinds of things in remembrance of the Armada that
- 53:03Speaker 2: was parked out of New York when the Revolutionary War
- 53:07Speaker 2: first began. This is we stand on the shoulders of
- 53:10Speaker 2: greatness and of a history that was unlike anything else
- 53:14Speaker 2: in the world. What was your personal motivation for creating
- 53:18Speaker 2: The Founder's Movie?
- 53:21Speaker 14: You know, Kevin, our history is really amazing and how
- 53:25Speaker 14: God helped bring it about. You know, Divine intervention is
- 53:29Speaker 14: all over the place with Washington, with our whole.
- 53:32Speaker 2: And he never failed to note it. By the way,
- 53:35Speaker 2: as well. He always took note of that and made
- 53:38Speaker 2: that a prominent part of what he discussed very much.
- 53:41Speaker 14: So, you know, even before the Revolution, the great awakening
- 53:45Speaker 14: that happened here in our country, it really provided a
- 53:49Speaker 14: bed of liberty, I guess you might say. And so
- 53:54Speaker 14: you know, when the British really decided they were going
- 53:57Speaker 14: to hone down on the colonies and get him an
- 54:00Speaker 14: the line, you know, it was that sense of freedom
- 54:04Speaker 14: and liberty and as far as this project, in the
- 54:08Speaker 14: last year or so, I've been working on another documentary
- 54:12Speaker 14: called Bidon's Early Light in connection with Vince Haley at
- 54:16Speaker 14: the Domestic Policy Council at the White House, and that
- 54:22Speaker 14: documentary came out a little less than a month ago.
- 54:26Speaker 14: But through that it really that whole documentary is about
- 54:31Speaker 14: our freedoms being encroached on by very liberal, very strong
- 54:37Speaker 14: leadership to really put out Christianity in our history of
- 54:42Speaker 14: our country. And so when working with Salem Media on
- 54:47Speaker 14: the distribution of that gentleman that I worked with there,
- 54:50Speaker 14: he was like, you know, what do you think about
- 54:54Speaker 14: a whole series on the Founders or a movie? And
- 54:58Speaker 14: I had been doing some work in AI. Sean, my
- 55:00Speaker 14: twin brother, has been doing work in AI, and it's
- 55:02Speaker 14: like boy, putting together like a docudrama where we're interviewing
- 55:08Speaker 14: the Founders based upon their writings, based upon different history
- 55:13Speaker 14: and historians. And the amazing thing about AI right now
- 55:19Speaker 14: is that you can it's getting far enough. You can't
- 55:22Speaker 14: necessarily produce entire feature films with it. But the idea
- 55:26Speaker 14: of a docu drama where you're interviewing and then you're
- 55:28Speaker 14: creating recreating scenes from battles to you know, the debates
- 55:35Speaker 14: in Continental Congress, to you know, what families are facing.
- 55:39Speaker 14: And I came to Sean and I said, Sehan, what
- 55:41Speaker 14: do you think And He's like, yeah, let's let's do that.
- 55:43Speaker 14: And so, you know, we started the Founder's Project. And
- 55:48Speaker 14: you know, part of the thing is we the people
- 55:50Speaker 14: is so ingrained in us, you know, insta in the constitution,
- 55:56Speaker 14: and so many people don't know about some of the
- 56:00Speaker 14: history and the different documents and the positions and the
- 56:05Speaker 14: struggles that happened with the founders that we wanted to
- 56:08Speaker 14: communicate that and so that started this process and we
- 56:13Speaker 14: put together a crowdfunding page to be able to bring
- 56:16Speaker 14: in people to say, hey, I'm going to be a
- 56:18Speaker 14: part of this. And you know, we the people want
- 56:21Speaker 14: to tell this story. Civics is and you know, history
- 56:26Speaker 14: and education, there's this whole new development of recreating it.
- 56:32Speaker 14: And it's like, no, we want to tell the original
- 56:34Speaker 14: history and what were the intent of the founders and
- 56:37Speaker 14: how can we be inspired today with what they stood
- 56:41Speaker 14: up for.
- 56:42Speaker 2: Sean, You've got a long history of production and direction
- 56:46Speaker 2: and feature films and so forth. What is it about
- 56:49Speaker 2: this project that personally connects with you and motivates you
- 56:53Speaker 2: to see to it that we hear this story of
- 56:56Speaker 2: the founders, maybe in a new way than they've ever
- 56:58Speaker 2: been told before.
- 57:00Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 57:00Speaker 15: The beautiful thing about using the new tools that are
- 57:04Speaker 15: out there is, you know, most of the films I've
- 57:07Speaker 15: done our low budget or ultra low budget, you know,
- 57:10Speaker 15: faith based features, and you know, you're always limited by
- 57:15Speaker 15: your visions, always limited by your budget. You know, so
- 57:19Speaker 15: you have you know, two hundred men marching or whatever,
- 57:24Speaker 15: and you're like, okay, we had or you know, two
- 57:27Speaker 15: hundred people in a church. For instance, I had a
- 57:29Speaker 15: scene where I literally had to you know, focus my
- 57:32Speaker 15: camera on just a little part and then move everybody
- 57:35Speaker 15: over and shoot, you know, let's fix them up. But
- 57:40Speaker 15: with this new technology, we can our vision becomes of
- 57:45Speaker 15: a battle of with an independence hall, you know, the
- 57:50Speaker 15: men debating and stuff. It becomes very much exactly what
- 57:55Speaker 15: we imagine. So to me as a filmmaker, it's very
- 57:59Speaker 15: exciting to use the new tools to really bring to
- 58:04Speaker 15: life what happened at the time without being limited by
- 58:07Speaker 15: a budget or you know, by how many people you
- 58:10Speaker 15: can get together. You can just say, hey, you know,
- 58:14Speaker 15: program in you know, ten people and there aren't you know,
- 58:16Speaker 15: are you in or debating and then you give them
- 58:19Speaker 15: the lines and and you know, the vision that you
- 58:22Speaker 15: have comes to life in a way like we haven't
- 58:25Speaker 15: been able to do as independent filmmakers ever.
- 58:29Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, a lot of the modern day documentaries use
- 58:33Speaker 2: draw upon, you know, original documents and even some classic
- 58:38Speaker 2: works of art, be it sketching or painting or whatever,
- 58:41Speaker 2: and then there's slow zooms in and pans out and
- 58:43Speaker 2: everything else. But it's not it's not interactive the way
- 58:48Speaker 2: you guys have envisioned this, and this is this is
- 58:50Speaker 2: really something that's going to break the barrier there. You
- 58:53Speaker 2: mentioned the crowdfunding aspect of this, Kyle h. What is
- 58:57Speaker 2: the what is the ETA of the delivery of the film?
- 59:00Speaker 2: What does it? What stories does it feature? Who are
- 59:04Speaker 2: the prominent characters in it? And how can people get
- 59:06Speaker 2: involved if they if they want to be part of this.
- 59:09Speaker 14: That's a load of question there.
- 59:11Speaker 2: We try it. Yes, No, that's that's always on here,
- 59:14Speaker 2: that's for sure.
- 59:18Speaker 14: You know, with the crowd funding, that is one big
- 59:22Speaker 14: aspect of the funding.
- 59:24Speaker 2: You know, we're also.
- 59:26Speaker 14: Working with other groups to look into, you know, some
- 59:31Speaker 14: foundation to get behind it as well. As potential sponsors,
- 59:35Speaker 14: but that's a little later in this Crowdfunding is our
- 59:39Speaker 14: phase one, as it were. And but like Sean said,
- 59:43Speaker 14: we're not bound by you know, achieving a certain budget
- 59:47Speaker 14: to get started on this, and so that's exciting. And
- 59:51Speaker 14: as far as the main characters, we we kind of
- 59:54Speaker 14: picked ten main characters, you know, Washington, Adams, Mattison, and
- 1:00:00Speaker 14: there's John Jay, there's Roger Sherman. There's a bunch, and
- 1:00:07Speaker 14: we're working. We have a couple of experts. So Bill
- 1:00:09Speaker 14: Federer is a historian and he's agreed to work with us,
- 1:00:15Speaker 14: and we've already kind of done some initial work with him.
- 1:00:18Speaker 14: Tim Barton also is looking at the script and giving
- 1:00:22Speaker 14: us input and such. So you know, we're not just
- 1:00:25Speaker 14: winging it, you know, we're using experts to help us
- 1:00:29Speaker 14: make sure that the history we're telling is solid. And
- 1:00:33Speaker 14: so what's interesting though, is we started looking to some
- 1:00:35Speaker 14: of the founders. I started to kind of open up
- 1:00:38Speaker 14: a little bit more and like, well, wait a minute,
- 1:00:39Speaker 14: So King George he was kind of a founder because
- 1:00:44Speaker 14: not of our country, but he was one who kind
- 1:00:46Speaker 14: of pushed, you know, our founders.
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: To start Gatlasts for sure.
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: And yeahs and antagonists.
- 1:00:55Speaker 14: In film terms. But yeah, Gail Adams, you know who,
- 1:00:59Speaker 14: who was very prolific in the letters between her and
- 1:01:02Speaker 14: her husband, you know, so using some of that context.
- 1:01:06Speaker 14: So and then this family that we've introduced as well,
- 1:01:09Speaker 14: that's a fictitious family. But there's a lot of writings
- 1:01:13Speaker 14: of different families that were part.
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: Of all drawn on real experience, but it's not necessarily
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: it is a fictitious family. We're speaking with Kyle and
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: Sean Justice, twins that are serving as producers and directors
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: of the new film called The Founders, and we're going
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: to tell you how you can be involved. In just
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: a second, we've got to take a quick break. Be
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: right back.
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: Let's stick around for more of than Kevin next.
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: Here he is in New York exact Kevin, Kevin McCullough.
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: Welcome back, Times Square, Kevin McCulla that kevinshow dot com.
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: Nothing's behind the paywall. We want you to have free
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: access to it all the time. Columns, podcast, TV shows,
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: it's all there. Go and check it out that Kevinshow
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: dot com. We're speaking with Kyle and Sean Justice, who
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: are producers and co directors and writers of the new
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: project called The Founder's Movie. And by the way, The
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: Foundersmovie dot Com is where you can go and be
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: part of the crowdfunding effort if you if you believe
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: that we need quality educational resources that are not dull
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: for the next generation, that actually engage them and kind
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: of speak their language and help them understand context of
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: who we are. Because I would say, in this two
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: hundred and fiftieth year, we have a unique opportunity where
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: the whole world kind of focuses on where America came from.
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: Let's seize that and help our kids understand it better.
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: The Founder's Movie is attempting to do just that. And
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: we were talking about Sean the idea that this will
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: be a feature of docu drama. And you've got the
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: you've got kind of the the everyday man represented in
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: these in this family that's going to kind of walk
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: through this, and you've got the Founders actually doing the
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: little confessional shots to the camera talking about like when
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: stuff happened, and you've got the the scenes of the
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: battles and the arguments that independently. Do you have the
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: caning I want the one where the other guy caned
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: the guy, you know, because they disagreed and like they
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: broke the cane over the I want I want that
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: one in there? Do we have that one? Don't answer.
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: You'll have to watch it to find out.
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: But we if we can't just tell just this amount.
- 1:03:43Speaker 15: Yeah, we You know, when Kyle and I first started
- 1:03:46Speaker 15: talking about doing this, it's like, well, I have an
- 1:03:49Speaker 15: idea for the series, Kyle said, and we kind of debated,
- 1:03:53Speaker 15: went back and forth. We talked to Salem and media
- 1:03:56Speaker 15: and they're like, you know what if we started with
- 1:03:58Speaker 15: a movie and we're like, huh okay, yeah, I like that.
- 1:04:01Speaker 15: We like that, and that introduces it. But we have
- 1:04:06Speaker 15: six episodes, six to ten episodes already kind of outlined.
- 1:04:10Speaker 15: We have different seasons outlined because we think it's really
- 1:04:14Speaker 15: going to hit a lot of people with information and
- 1:04:20Speaker 15: stories and credible stories actually of individuals of others. A.
- 1:04:25Speaker 15: Kyle's more of the expert on all that, but as
- 1:04:28Speaker 15: he was telling me, I'm like, oh my goodness, that
- 1:04:30Speaker 15: would be amazing. You know, we could do this because
- 1:04:33Speaker 15: we're using AI. We could do things that would cost
- 1:04:36Speaker 15: millions and millions of dollars and entertain, but educate and
- 1:04:41Speaker 15: help people feel a sense of pride and patriotism that
- 1:04:46Speaker 15: we hope to really inspire with not only the movie
- 1:04:50Speaker 15: but the series and use it for educational purposes within homeschooling,
- 1:04:55Speaker 15: within public schools. Even we believe we have relationships with
- 1:05:01Speaker 15: different departments that Kyle has that could utilize this.
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: We've even looked.
- 1:05:08Speaker 15: Into building a program for the military to use it
- 1:05:13Speaker 15: for leadership and officers training.
- 1:05:15Speaker 14: So the potential of this is huge.
- 1:05:19Speaker 15: And we're really excited in this first step of doing
- 1:05:23Speaker 15: getting we the people involved in people through crowdfunding is
- 1:05:27Speaker 15: to is just the beginning.
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: It's the first step. Well, and that's where friends you
- 1:05:32Speaker 2: come in and is it Founder's movie or the Founder's movie.
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: I want to make sure we do the right Foundersmovie
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: dot com the Foundersmovie dot Com contribute to the crowdfunding
- 1:05:42Speaker 2: phase of this and help this project come to life. Okay,
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: probably the most difficult question that we'll get asked about this.
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: For whatever reason there is, there are those that may
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: be of the conservative or Christian mindset that are just
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: very untry rusting of anything even remotely attached to AI
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: and I don't quite understand it. I kind of liken
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: it too. When the World Wide Web first came out,
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: and there were people in religious circles that were like, ooh,
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: the devil's in the spirit of the Internet, that kind
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: of stuff. What do you say to people that say,
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: why are you using a technology that some people would
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: associate with eliminating jobs or making things less than authentic.
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: That's that's what the argument would be, and I do
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: not share that perspective. In fact, I have a brand
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: new sponsor that's going to start very shortly that is
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: a faith based AI basis that is starting everything from
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: the from ground level because chat GPT and Claude and
- 1:06:46Speaker 2: those guys, they will basically reflect back to whatever the
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: user wants to hear, so they'll you know, they'll tickle
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: your ears, as Paul says, and two Timothy, But I
- 1:06:55Speaker 2: see good that can come from AI and the amazing
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: stuff that it can do in way that we've never
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: been able to do before. Kyle, I'll come back to
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: you with that.
- 1:07:02Speaker 14: Yeah, I think Seanna's a good to put too. But yeah,
- 1:07:06Speaker 14: I mean we definitely considered that. But I think you know,
- 1:07:09Speaker 14: the Bidoon's really light documentary.
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: Did we talked.
- 1:07:12Speaker 14: We shared the story of the War of eighteen twelve
- 1:07:15Speaker 14: fort McHenry and so on. We were able to use
- 1:07:17Speaker 14: the technology to tell that story and stay within the budget,
- 1:07:23Speaker 14: you know, so as storytellers and low budget storytellers in
- 1:07:29Speaker 14: a sense, you know, we were not out you know,
- 1:07:31Speaker 14: making millions of dollars.
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: This is a tool.
- 1:07:34Speaker 14: And just like you know when when cars came out,
- 1:07:38Speaker 14: you know, the whole horse and buggy trade freaked out.
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: So let mean to say this, I don't think. I
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: think people that argue from the standpoint that it's going
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: to eliminate people's connection to this look at it backwards.
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: Because the car did not limit to transfer in rotation.
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: It exploded it exactly. The World Wide Web didn't limit communication.
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: It didn't eliminate libraries, it didn't eliminate sources of information.
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: It connected them even more strongly across the board. And
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: I think that you're not going to limit the amount
- 1:08:14Speaker 2: of stories, good stories that can be told or films
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: that can be made. You're going to create more storytellers
- 1:08:20Speaker 2: and there's going to be an advancement of all which
- 1:08:23Speaker 2: you guys are living proof of. So the Foundersmovie dot
- 1:08:27Speaker 2: Com friends to be a part of this. You can
- 1:08:29Speaker 2: get in on the ground level and help fund it
- 1:08:31Speaker 2: from the very beginning, The Foundersmovie dot Com. The Foundersmovie
- 1:08:35Speaker 2: dot Com. Kyle and Sean check back in with me
- 1:08:38Speaker 2: in a few weeks and let's launch this thing and
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: get people educated on our founder.
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: So thank you very much.
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: Chavin Keller coming right back from Times Square.
- 1:08:45Speaker 16: Don't go anywhere here, he is in New York, exact.
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: Kevin McCullough.
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: All right, welcome, it's Kevin McCullough. It's Thursday, and again
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: back in the studio after our big day out on Tuesday,
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: but glad to have you with us. You know, on
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: Thursdays we take a little bit of time to set
- 1:09:16Speaker 2: the newspaper down and talk about parenting improvement, different things
- 1:09:21Speaker 2: we can do, just one idea a week. And Shelley
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: Goldberg is back with us to help us with this
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: The Parenting Express and Shelley. This week we're talking about
- 1:09:29Speaker 2: kids and their fears.
- 1:09:32Speaker 12: Yes, how to help kids manage their fears. And Kevin,
- 1:09:35Speaker 12: I was inspired because I saw a toddler right near
- 1:09:40Speaker 12: a kiddie pool.
- 1:09:41Speaker 8: Maybe there was.
- 1:09:42Speaker 12: Three four inches of water, and this kid was crying
- 1:09:46Speaker 12: and the mom wasn't quite sure what to do, and
- 1:09:48Speaker 12: I thought, this is something you know we can talk
- 1:09:51Speaker 12: about because every parent and grandparent has gone through this,
- 1:09:55Speaker 12: and we're talking about those you know, those developmentally appropriate
- 1:10:00Speaker 12: your fears, the fear of the dark, the water, loud noises,
- 1:10:05Speaker 12: you know, the barking dog on the corner, the banana
- 1:10:09Speaker 12: that breaks in half, and then the child gets very
- 1:10:12Speaker 12: upset and starts to cry, and there's a meltdown and
- 1:10:15Speaker 12: they're fearful about eating anything else. But all of those things,
- 1:10:18Speaker 12: believe it or not very normal and what can we
- 1:10:21Speaker 12: do about it? Number one, especially maybe four kids slightly older.
- 1:10:27Speaker 12: But the first place I would start, mom and dad,
- 1:10:30Speaker 12: it's your TV on twenty four to seven, because a
- 1:10:33Speaker 12: lot of the images that are being pumped into your
- 1:10:36Speaker 12: house are scaring the dickens out of your kids. Loud noises,
- 1:10:41Speaker 12: the car crashes, the tornadoes, there's just.
- 1:10:45Speaker 4: This constant stream of images.
- 1:10:47Speaker 12: That really can play on a child's imagination, especially kids
- 1:10:51Speaker 12: who are middle school age and above. So monitor what's
- 1:10:56Speaker 12: coming into your house. That's number one. Number two, ask yourself,
- 1:11:00Speaker 12: what am I afraid of? Kevin, If it's heights for you,
- 1:11:05Speaker 12: or if you're a slightly claustrophobic, I do not know
- 1:11:08Speaker 12: these things about you but certainly our kids are going
- 1:11:12Speaker 12: to pick up on it. So monitoring and getting to
- 1:11:15Speaker 12: know yourself better are also places to start. Okay, now
- 1:11:18Speaker 12: let's go back to basics. And now let's go back
- 1:11:21Speaker 12: to the two and the three year old. Validate their feelings.
- 1:11:25Speaker 12: You don't want to dismiss fears with that's so silly.
- 1:11:29Speaker 12: There's nothing to be afraid of, Susie, You'll be fine.
- 1:11:32Speaker 4: Just be brave.
- 1:11:34Speaker 12: I act, Kevin, that's not going to work. You want
- 1:11:37Speaker 12: to be able to say things like I can see
- 1:11:39Speaker 12: that you're upset. I can see that you're feeling scared.
- 1:11:44Speaker 12: But you want to acknowledge what your child is feeling,
- 1:11:46Speaker 12: that they're uncomfortable. That's the place to start. You as
- 1:11:50Speaker 12: the parent, want to model warmth and calmness. You want
- 1:11:54Speaker 12: to be calm, all right. Number two, Facing fears is
- 1:11:58Speaker 12: incremental step ladder approach. It's step by step. So if
- 1:12:03Speaker 12: your child has a fear of dogs, they hear the
- 1:12:06Speaker 12: dog barking, you want to go with photos books about dogs.
- 1:12:10Speaker 12: You want to start watching dogs, maybe a block away,
- 1:12:14Speaker 12: not up close and personal, but far away, and then
- 1:12:18Speaker 12: you're going to get closer and closer. And what you
- 1:12:20Speaker 12: want to kind of work up to is that your
- 1:12:24Speaker 12: child is able to stand next to a calm underline
- 1:12:28Speaker 12: c ALM calm dog.
- 1:12:30Speaker 4: But that that would be the goal. But you have
- 1:12:32Speaker 4: to do it.
- 1:12:32Speaker 12: You have to have a plan, and you have to
- 1:12:34Speaker 12: do it in stages, step by step, and they're going
- 1:12:37Speaker 12: to take step steps backward, and it might take longer
- 1:12:41Speaker 12: for some kids, maybe the neighbor's child. You can figure
- 1:12:44Speaker 12: out the marking dog scenario. You know, in three weeks.
- 1:12:47Speaker 12: It might take your child, you know, two months, it
- 1:12:50Speaker 12: doesn't matter. You can go slow, but you will get
- 1:12:53Speaker 12: there three. Use imaginative play that works beautifully. That's the puppets,
- 1:12:59Speaker 12: the drawing all. Sometimes you can have a designated plush
- 1:13:03Speaker 12: toy stuffed animal as the gatekeeper to keep away the
- 1:13:07Speaker 12: monster at night. You know that's under the bed. You know,
- 1:13:10Speaker 12: you pick out a stuffed animal and that stuffed animals
- 1:13:15Speaker 12: is going to protect your child from this scary monster. Now,
- 1:13:19Speaker 12: with older kids, we want to teach older kids coping
- 1:13:23Speaker 12: skills because most of the time we're not going to
- 1:13:25Speaker 12: be able to be there to help them to move
- 1:13:29Speaker 12: from fight flight into a calm state. So with older kids,
- 1:13:34Speaker 12: verbal kids, middle school kids, we want to teach them
- 1:13:37Speaker 12: a belly breathing that's diaframatic breathing, and something called a
- 1:13:41Speaker 12: grounding technique, also known as.
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: The three three three rule, that.
- 1:13:46Speaker 12: Means when your child starts to panic, they're in a
- 1:13:49Speaker 12: crowded elevator, they're getting nervous because they have to speak
- 1:13:53Speaker 12: in front of the class, they should start to think
- 1:13:56Speaker 12: immediately three things they can see there, sounds that they hear,
- 1:14:02Speaker 12: and three body parts that they can move, like their fingers,
- 1:14:05Speaker 12: their toes, in their neck, those three things. But you
- 1:14:09Speaker 12: see what you hear and what you feel, very often
- 1:14:12Speaker 12: can literally snap your kids, literally move them back to baseline.
- 1:14:17Speaker 12: So that's the technique that you can try and teach
- 1:14:20Speaker 12: your middle school kids. Don't use avoidance as a technique, Kevin.
- 1:14:24Speaker 12: That's another thing, because things just grow. These these fears,
- 1:14:28Speaker 12: these irrational fears, just get bigger and bigger.
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: If you avoid the computer.
- 1:14:32Speaker 12: So your child doesn't like dogs, you don't want it
- 1:14:35Speaker 12: to become a problem where they won't go on the
- 1:14:37Speaker 12: class trip because they're afraid they might bump into a dog.
- 1:14:41Speaker 4: So gentle exposure is the key, Kevin.
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: Your thoughts, No, I think.
- 1:14:46Speaker 2: That this is really important because I think it's I
- 1:14:50Speaker 2: honestly believe that we've got to understand as best we
- 1:14:55Speaker 2: can the shoes that they're in and to provide that
- 1:14:59Speaker 2: kind of sense of comfort and understanding that the world's
- 1:15:05Speaker 2: you know, not spinning out of control, even if we
- 1:15:08Speaker 2: maybe feel that it is or whatever. At times, they're
- 1:15:11Speaker 2: going to take a lot of cues off of us.
- 1:15:13Speaker 2: So I think the thing that I'm most zeroing in on,
- 1:15:16Speaker 2: what you're talking about, is how much we portray or
- 1:15:23Speaker 2: you know, allow that to be seen, you know, and
- 1:15:26Speaker 2: you know from them watching us, kids catch a lot
- 1:15:29Speaker 2: more than they learn, and I think that we have
- 1:15:33Speaker 2: to be in the in the process of hoping that
- 1:15:35Speaker 2: they catch really good stuff. And I do agree with
- 1:15:37Speaker 2: you on the TV stuff, especially with the new technology,
- 1:15:40Speaker 2: everything is so crystal clear and in perfect audio, and
- 1:15:44Speaker 2: you know, we have seventy inch screens on our living
- 1:15:46Speaker 2: room walls now, and it's like it's more than immersive,
- 1:15:49Speaker 2: it's like you drown in it. And I think that
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: you got to You've got to take the steps to
- 1:15:55Speaker 2: protect them. Shelly. The innocence that they have only comes
- 1:15:59Speaker 2: once in life, and once it's gone, it's gone. And
- 1:16:02Speaker 2: I think everything that I can do to try to
- 1:16:04Speaker 2: delay the disappearance of that innocence, which my kids are
- 1:16:08Speaker 2: old enough now it pretty much all has been. But
- 1:16:12Speaker 2: you want to do the best you can because that's
- 1:16:14Speaker 2: just elongating their ability to be a true kid and
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: to have a true childhood.
- 1:16:20Speaker 12: So beautifully said Kevin.
- 1:16:21Speaker 4: It's such a short window.
- 1:16:23Speaker 12: That innocence is such so small, so short, and we
- 1:16:28Speaker 12: want to protect them and not let these images and
- 1:16:30Speaker 12: want not let these things come into their life. But
- 1:16:32Speaker 12: they're just going to confuse them and add to their discomfort.
- 1:16:36Speaker 2: So yeah, no doubt, all right, Shelly, I always appreciate it.
- 1:16:40Speaker 2: Thank you, Thank you, Kevin. Kevin McCullough coming back from
- 1:16:43Speaker 2: New York. Don't go anywhere.
- 1:16:52Speaker 13: Serving it up. It's a no drink mintal. It's that
- 1:16:57Speaker 13: Kenvin show.
- 1:16:59Speaker 2: All right, Kevin Kell, have you with us? It's that
- 1:17:01Speaker 2: Kevin show, that kevinshow dot com for everything related, including
- 1:17:06Speaker 2: helping us get these final kids. There are now forty
- 1:17:10Speaker 2: seven that still need someone to speak for them for
- 1:17:13Speaker 2: summer camp, and we have through the end of the week. Friends,
- 1:17:16Speaker 2: we could do this, We could do this. We are
- 1:17:18Speaker 2: within range. If just forty seven people listening to the
- 1:17:22Speaker 2: sound of my voice would say, I'll take care of
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: one child, I'll get one child to camp. We could
- 1:17:27Speaker 2: do this, We could actually do this. It looked like
- 1:17:30Speaker 2: when we were early on that we weren't going to
- 1:17:32Speaker 2: come anywhere near our goal because they had some broken
- 1:17:35Speaker 2: phone lines and there were some other problems. But friends,
- 1:17:37Speaker 2: you've made a valiant effort and now there are one
- 1:17:40Speaker 2: hundred and fifteen kids that are going to summer camp,
- 1:17:44Speaker 2: and we're so grateful for that. But that means there
- 1:17:47Speaker 2: are forty seven that have not been spoken for, forty
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: seven children whose parents are in prison that will not
- 1:17:53Speaker 2: get to experience a week of Christian camp where the
- 1:17:57Speaker 2: gospel will be presented to them, where they will have
- 1:17:59Speaker 2: the chance to make friends, friends who understand and can
- 1:18:05Speaker 2: identify with what they're going through in life because they're
- 1:18:07Speaker 2: going through the same thing. And counselors at the camp
- 1:18:12Speaker 2: that formerly were Angel Tree kids and know what these
- 1:18:15Speaker 2: kids are going through and loving on them and answering
- 1:18:17Speaker 2: their questions and helping them and forming lifelong relationships with them. Friends. Here, here,
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: my sixteen year old who's a counselor this year at
- 1:18:26Speaker 2: a Christian camp. He just started, and he came home
- 1:18:29Speaker 2: He came home the other day after the first day
- 1:18:33Speaker 2: of camp, and I said, what was it like? And
- 1:18:37Speaker 2: he said, Dad, I felt so good. And I said,
- 1:18:40Speaker 2: why did you feel good? He goes, because there was
- 1:18:42Speaker 2: a kid who was really sad and he had lost
- 1:18:47Speaker 2: his backpack and we were everybody was, you know, pretty
- 1:18:52Speaker 2: busy and everything else. He said, I just took the
- 1:18:54Speaker 2: time and I walked around with him and I helped
- 1:18:57Speaker 2: him find it, and I found it and we found
- 1:18:59Speaker 2: the back and he said thank you to me, and
- 1:19:02Speaker 2: he was so grateful, and it just it just changed
- 1:19:05Speaker 2: this whole day, he said, Dad, that's why I do camp. Friends.
- 1:19:08Speaker 2: The counselors at the Angel Tree camp are like that
- 1:19:11Speaker 2: on steroids. These kids didn't lose backpacks. They've lost their lives.
- 1:19:17Speaker 2: Their parents are in prison, and the counselors are walking around,
- 1:19:20Speaker 2: loving on them, praying with helping them understand what the
- 1:19:25Speaker 2: gospel means for them, introducing them to Jesus, helping them
- 1:19:29Speaker 2: to find Jesus. When their parents have just found Jesus
- 1:19:32Speaker 2: in prison and they want and they want their kids
- 1:19:34Speaker 2: to find Jesus. They don't want they don't want their
- 1:19:36Speaker 2: kids to find Jesus in prison. They want their kids
- 1:19:38Speaker 2: to find Jesus out of prison, and that's what the
- 1:19:41Speaker 2: Angel Tree counselors are helping them do. And friends, this
- 1:19:43Speaker 2: is this is just a life changing experience. And we
- 1:19:48Speaker 2: had a list of one hundred and sixty two names
- 1:19:50Speaker 2: and there are forty seven names left on that list.
- 1:19:53Speaker 2: And we have today, Tomorrow, Saturday, and Sunday. We are
- 1:19:57Speaker 2: done on Sunday. I need your help now, I need
- 1:20:01Speaker 2: your help to go and to help a child get
- 1:20:05Speaker 2: to camp. It is urgent that we do this. We
- 1:20:09Speaker 2: cannot sit on our loyal We cannot just let these
- 1:20:12Speaker 2: kids be ignored and rot in there, you know, not
- 1:20:15Speaker 2: great places all summer. They're gonna have a lot of
- 1:20:18Speaker 2: time to spend in those places. Let's get them to
- 1:20:20Speaker 2: a Christian camp for a week. And it's only two
- 1:20:23Speaker 2: hundred dollars. If you were to try to put a
- 1:20:25Speaker 2: kid in a camp around here in the Tri State area,
- 1:20:29Speaker 2: it would cost you five hundred to one thousand dollars
- 1:20:31Speaker 2: depending on the camp, just for the week of camp.
- 1:20:34Speaker 2: But here you have the opportunity to help a child
- 1:20:38Speaker 2: find Jesus and the outdoors and God and his creation
- 1:20:45Speaker 2: and all the good things that he's done for them.
- 1:20:47Speaker 2: You have a chance to help them do that right now.

- 1:21:07Speaker 2: but we can't do it without you. We need your help,
- 1:21:10Speaker 2: and I'm I'm just hopeful and prayerful that forty seven
- 1:21:14Speaker 2: people between now and Sunday will hear my voice and say,
