Latest / Reclaiming Consciousness / 2025 Wrap Up, Rants on Healing, Pop Psychology and Spirituality
Transcript
- 0:00SPEAKER_00: I think the whole world of like spirituality and pop psychology has really like gone to an extreme that's like annoying to me, if I'm being honest.
- 0:12SPEAKER_00: There's so much information out there that I think people can take little snippets of things that could be helpful in a certain scenario and take it to the extreme and actually miss what it is that they need to look at in order to make a real change.
- 0:35SPEAKER_00: Welcome to Reclaiming Consciousness.
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: I'm Elise Bassine, trauma and breathwork expert and creator of the Metamorphosis Method, the only methodology bridging the gap between spiritual healing and clinical trauma work.
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: For many years, our consciousness has been hijacked by societal and cultural programming, religion, the media, and familial and ancestral trauma.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: In this podcast, you'll discover my unique perspective on trauma healing and how it is the gateway to fully reclaiming your consciousness.
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: You'll hear stories and teachings that expand your mind as you discover how every relationship challenge, business block, or limiting pattern is an invitation to reclaim the parts of your consciousness you unknowingly gave away.
- 1:18SPEAKER_00: Get ready to go deep.
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: Now let's dive in.
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: Hi everyone, welcome back to the show.
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: So this is the last episode for 2025.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: My thought is I wanted to do a little 2025 wrap-up, some of my thoughts and feelings moving into 2026 and just some other things that I've been thinking about and things that have come up for my clients.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: And just we'll see where this goes because there's a lot of ideas swirling in my mind of things I want to talk about and address.
- 1:56SPEAKER_00: And every time I try to write them all down, I feel overwhelmed.
- 2:01SPEAKER_00: So I'm just gonna start talking and we're gonna see what happens.
- 2:04SPEAKER_00: 2025 has been a really interesting year for me.
- 2:09SPEAKER_00: And for a lot of you, I know, especially if you've worked with me in any capacity and I'm more familiar with what's going on for you.
- 2:17SPEAKER_00: There's been a lot of transformation, a lot of understanding deeper layers of why we do the things that we do, and really starting to bravely move into a more authentic way of living for what is actually right for you, what actually feels good for you versus what you think you're supposed to do.
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: You know, I think that was kind of like an overall theme for so many of us this year.
- 2:49SPEAKER_00: And what I'm noticing right now is that there is so much emotional energy moving, a lot of grief for people.
- 3:01SPEAKER_00: And I think largely a lot of that is stemming from the fact that we are ending this nine-year cycle, which I've talked about a little bit in some of my content and some videos that I've made, um, and I think even on the podcast.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: But there is definitely a shift amiss us.
- 3:23SPEAKER_00: And I think we all can feel it.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: And there has been, right?
- 3:27SPEAKER_00: I think basically ever since 2020, the world has completely changed and there's been a palpable shift in energy.
- 3:37SPEAKER_00: But I think that now as we're moving into 2026, that is really gonna be more prominent and more obvious.
- 3:45SPEAKER_00: I think that after 2020, there were so many people that were like wanting to quote unquote go back to normal.
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: And I know for me, I was able to see pretty quickly that we weren't going back to normal, that there was a big shift happening on the planet.
- 4:02SPEAKER_00: And I think when I was a kid, I always knew that there was going to be some big shift happening in my lifetime.
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: And I didn't really understand what that meant.
- 4:14SPEAKER_00: I think as a kid, I think the first time it ever got really activated in me was when I saw the movie The Terminator, which scared the shit out of me.
- 4:26SPEAKER_00: And I think probably I was like too young to watch that movie.
- 4:30SPEAKER_00: But I remember my dad was like, Oh, we need to watch The Terminator.
- 4:34SPEAKER_00: It's so good.
- 4:34SPEAKER_00: You're gonna love it.
- 4:35SPEAKER_00: And I remember it scared me so much.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: And I had nightmares about it for so long.
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: And I was like, why did my dad make me watch this?
- 4:44SPEAKER_00: But it was the first kind of encounter I had with the end of the world or the apocalypse or something like that.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: And I think it triggered this deeper knowing that I had on a soul level that I was here on this planet because things were going to really shift in my lifetime.
- 5:03SPEAKER_00: But seeing that movie put this kind of more fear or doom and gloom around it, that kind of affirmed my feeling, but in a way that was scary.
- 5:14SPEAKER_00: And that actually scared me for a long time.
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: But I think once I matured and kind of evolved past that, I always knew that there was gonna be a big shift.
- 5:24SPEAKER_00: And I couldn't have words for it, but I just felt it.
- 5:28SPEAKER_00: And then when 2020 happened, you know, when COVID happened and everything, I was like, oh, this is it.
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: Like, this is the shift.
- 5:36SPEAKER_00: Even though I didn't know exactly what that meant, I knew that it was happening, right?
- 5:41SPEAKER_00: And I think since that time, and really the nine-year cycle has been from 2017 until now, which I know for all of you, if you look back on that time, you can see the shift that has occurred in you from 2017 until now.
- 5:57SPEAKER_00: And I know for me, 2017 was a year where I kind of started to think about, well, what else do I want to do?
- 6:06SPEAKER_00: I was a school counselor and I've been doing it for a while.
- 6:10SPEAKER_00: And I was like comfortable, but I was kind of, I kind of started feeling like, well, where is this going?
- 6:16SPEAKER_00: And I started to kind of just get frustrated with where I was at in my career because I was like, I know I'm good at this, I like it, but there didn't really seem to be anywhere to go from there, you know, and especially in the education system, it's like, well, what do I do?
- 6:33SPEAKER_00: Become a principal?
- 6:34SPEAKER_00: Like, no, thank you.
- 6:35SPEAKER_00: You know, like there's no place to evolve.
- 6:39SPEAKER_00: And at that time, I started exploring, like, I think I did all this training around like social emotional learning and wanting to kind of be more in like a leadership position in terms of being able to put my own thoughts and my own ways of doing things and creating things out there.
- 6:59SPEAKER_00: But the real shift for me didn't happen until 2018, which I'm sure you guys have heard me tell the story before.
- 7:06SPEAKER_00: But basically, the school I was working at, I was really comfortable there.
- 7:10SPEAKER_00: I'd been there for like seven years or something.
- 7:13SPEAKER_00: And a big group of the teachers kind of like ganged up against me and tried to get me fired, which was incredibly traumatizing for me because I had never really had anybody turn against me like that.
- 7:28SPEAKER_00: And I always was the type of person that, of course, I was a people pleaser, but I always like I never got in arguments with people or had enemies or anything like that.
- 7:37SPEAKER_00: But I think also at the time when I was a school counselor, I was just really starting to come into my own of like knowing that I was really good at what I did.
- 7:48SPEAKER_00: But I also just did things in my own way.
- 7:51SPEAKER_00: And I didn't follow rules that I didn't think made sense.
- 7:56SPEAKER_00: And especially with the kids, you know, as a school counselor, like my job was to help the kids with what they were struggling with, with the trauma going on at home and the difficult, really difficult situations that they were facing at a really young age.
- 8:13SPEAKER_00: And to me, that was the most important thing.
- 8:15SPEAKER_00: So, like a rule in the school of like, you know, they're not allowed to be on their phones or they're not allowed to curse or whatever, like those things seem so stupid to me.
- 8:25SPEAKER_00: Cause my priority was to build relationships with the kids so that they could feel like I was an ally and an advocate for them and a safe space for them.
- 8:36SPEAKER_00: And if they come into my office and I immediately tell them to stop cursing when that is a really everyday part of their vernacular, then how are they gonna feel safe and comfortable with me?
- 8:49SPEAKER_00: It just didn't make sense.
- 8:50SPEAKER_00: So I think what happened is the teachers didn't like that I didn't follow the rules and that I got away with it.
- 8:58SPEAKER_00: And I got away with it because my principal knew that I was doing a good job and that these things were not really important in the big picture.
- 9:09SPEAKER_00: And if there was a kid that was upset and needed to stay in my office all day, I would let them instead of forcing them to go back to class, which is like what they were supposed to do.
- 9:19SPEAKER_00: And I think over time the teachers didn't like that I didn't follow the rules and I just did things in the way that I wanted to do them, even though it served the kids.
- 9:31SPEAKER_00: And I always joke that in any work environment, but in schools especially, and I guess maybe it's just because that is what my experience is, but in any work environment, I think everyone plays out their family dynamics 99% of the time unconsciously.
- 9:46SPEAKER_00: So I would always joke that, you know, the principal is the dad, and then all the teachers are like siblings and they're put doing their like sibling stuff, competition, trying to be the favorite and all that stuff.
- 10:00SPEAKER_00: And it turns into talking crap out about each other or making each other wrong or whatever it is, and that's kind of what happened, but it was the perfect thing because it really forced me to take a leap, you know, because all of a sudden, this job that I was so comfortable at wasn't comfortable anymore because I was literally in this place where I knew all of these people were against me and I was like so uncomfortable.
- 10:32SPEAKER_00: So I was like, I gotta get out of here.
- 10:35SPEAKER_00: So that was kind of this catalyst for me into everything else that followed, which was at first getting a different job as a school counselor, which I thought was my dream manifestation job.
- 10:49SPEAKER_00: It literally checked all the boxes of everything I could want in a job.
- 10:53SPEAKER_00: And then once I got there, like two or three months in, I was like, oh, this ain't it.
- 10:58SPEAKER_00: Like, I'm not happy.
- 11:00SPEAKER_00: And I was trying to figure out why.
- 11:03SPEAKER_00: And eventually I started working with a coach.
- 11:06SPEAKER_00: And then I quickly realized that it was time for me to start my business.
- 11:10SPEAKER_00: And I always knew I was gonna be doing something more than being a school counselor because I just knew that I had the ability to help people in a much bigger way.
- 11:21SPEAKER_00: I just didn't know exactly what that was gonna look like or when.
- 11:24SPEAKER_00: And then it was pretty clear to me, like at the end of 2019, early 2020, that like it was time.
- 11:31SPEAKER_00: And so I started my business.
- 11:32SPEAKER_00: So it was like that chain of events led to this whole transformation of leaving my job, starting my business, developing my methodology, and doing what I do now.
- 11:43SPEAKER_00: And that all happened over this last nine-year cycle.
- 11:48SPEAKER_00: And it's really just interesting to watch that whole trajectory and how much I've changed.
- 11:54SPEAKER_00: And I'm sure if you reflect on your own experience from 2017 until now, you probably look back and think, like, wow, I've changed so much.
- 12:03SPEAKER_00: My life looks so different.
- 12:05SPEAKER_00: Even if it's in that span of time you had kids, or you know, you got married, or you got divorced, or whatever it is, there's just a whole trajectory of change, you know.
- 12:17SPEAKER_00: So I've been kind of like reflecting on that and looking back on that and kind of in awe of it.
- 12:23SPEAKER_00: And that kind of brings me to the next point that I've been reflecting on because now it's been six years that I've been taking clients through massive journeys of transformation.
- 12:37SPEAKER_00: And it's almost so big that it's hard for me to put into words sometimes.
- 12:45SPEAKER_00: And it's one of those things where, like, you know, when you have some sort of really intense spiritual experience, either like at a retreat or whatever it is, and it's like it feels like if you try to put it into words, then it almost waters it down, or you can't even express in words the way that it actually was.
- 13:09SPEAKER_00: And you feel like you're diminishing it in some way if you try.
- 13:13SPEAKER_00: That's often how I feel about my clients' journeys with me, especially the ones that I work with for a long time, like a year or more.
- 13:23SPEAKER_00: Because when I look back on like where they started to where they are now, it's like, yes, I can put into words the tangible things, you know, like starting businesses or making more money or bringing in clients or, you know, transforming their relationships or whatever it is, but those things seem trite or something when I really look at the bigger picture of like the inner shifts, the energetic shifts, the confidence that they have, like the clarity, the knowing, the way that they've kind of built their skill sets around being able to do the work that they do with people and cultivating like their talents and gifts and all of those things.
- 14:11SPEAKER_00: It's like I have such a level of reverence for the women who come into my world and take those journeys with me.
- 14:21SPEAKER_00: It's so interesting because after the last six years of running my business, obviously I've really had to become a student of online business and marketing and learning how to articulate what it is that I do and the results that people get.
- 14:43SPEAKER_00: And, you know, just being able to communicate that so that other people can understand it and know whether or not they want to work with me or that I can help them or whatever it is.
- 14:57SPEAKER_00: But it always feels like when I put it into words, I'm diminishing it in some way or I'm reducing it.
- 15:05SPEAKER_00: I'm reducing something that's so big and so sacred and so profound that when I put it into words, it feels like I'm cheapening it or something.
- 15:17SPEAKER_00: And it's something that I come up against a lot because as a business owner, I have to market, you know, I have to share what I do.
- 15:29SPEAKER_00: But it's also something that I have been putting, I don't want to say less emphasis on, but maybe just less weight on it.
- 15:39SPEAKER_00: Because what I've learned over time, too, is so much of this work, you know, the work that I do and also having a business is really so much just about relationships and building relationships and being comfortable, being open to people and bringing people into my world and even just talking to people about the work and about what I do and about their lives.
- 16:11SPEAKER_00: And, you know, I think when I was starting out, that was a lot harder for me because I'm actually, believe it or not, like not the type of person that is super open with people or that necessarily is always open to bringing new people into my sphere.
- 16:28SPEAKER_00: And even though I'm someone that like I have a lot of friends and a lot of people that I am close with and connected to, it wasn't something that I naturally wanted to do to like open up to people and connect with them and share openly with them, you know, because this work is so vulnerable.
- 16:50SPEAKER_00: It's so deep.
- 16:51SPEAKER_00: And it's like anytime I'm talking deeply about myself and my story and my work and my clients' stories, it feels so vulnerable.
- 17:01SPEAKER_00: And it feels like I'm opening up a piece of my heart for criticism or to be misunderstood or to be minimized in some way.
- 17:14SPEAKER_00: And it's hard, but over time, I think I've like built this muscle of just being able to do it and being open to connection.
- 17:24SPEAKER_00: And to me, that uh being open to connection is probably the most important skill set for me in running a business because this work is so much about connection and relationships and also providing a really safe container, a non-judgmental container, a neutral container for people to process the emotions that they haven't been able to process and to uh create the change that they truly want to make and to really take myself out of it and hold that space, but then also be able to share vulnerably about my own things that I've walked through to show them that they can do it too.
- 18:20SPEAKER_00: And it's really interesting too because in the like the traditional therapy model, you're kind of told like not to share anything about yourself, which I don't necessarily agree with.
- 18:34SPEAKER_00: My view on sharing things about myself is I always share anything about myself if it's going to be in service to my clients.
- 18:43SPEAKER_00: So if they're walking through something that I have experience with or that I have a parallel story about, I'll always share it, no matter how vulnerable it is, because I want to illustrate how like I handled that or how I looked at it or how I came out on the other side to give them like a roadmap of how they can do the same thing.
- 19:03SPEAKER_00: And I think that that's really important.
- 19:05SPEAKER_00: And I think one of the things that helps people to grow and have confidence in their own process is to see that somebody that they relate to can look like for me to do that too, you know, and I think that is so important.
- 19:23SPEAKER_00: And at the same time, I think that there's been this really annoying thing that I see in like the online space or coaching space or whatever the hell you want to call it at this point, where it's like, okay, well, this is how I made a million dollars, and you can apply the same thing and do it too.
- 19:47SPEAKER_00: And like that whole thing is like, no.
- 19:51SPEAKER_00: Because at the same time, like everybody has to find their own path, especially when it comes to business, you know, and that's a little bit of a different thing than just like the process of transformation and healing, but they go together because A, I know for me, and I didn't realize this in the beginning, but so many of my clients will end up wanting to start a business, even if they didn't initially think they wanted to do that in the first place.
- 20:17SPEAKER_00: And the reason why is because when they go through the process of disentangling from the family patterns and the childhood wounding and trauma that you know holds you back, you end up deeply connecting with yourself and your authenticity and your truth and who you really are meant to be in the world versus who you think you had to be based on programming and wounding and all of that stuff.
- 20:43SPEAKER_00: And when you connect with that, then you start to discover your gifts and what you're meant to do in the world.
- 20:50SPEAKER_00: And then, like, the natural next step is to like do that, which usually entails starting a business.
- 20:56SPEAKER_00: So, kind of by default, I end up talking about business a lot and how this work relates to business, right?
- 21:04SPEAKER_00: And I always say when it comes to the business, there's no formula.
- 21:08SPEAKER_00: Like you can learn things from other people that work for you.
- 21:12SPEAKER_00: But at the end of the day, you have to learn how to apply those things in a way that's gonna work for you specifically.
- 21:18SPEAKER_00: And I think that that's something that's really important to know.
- 21:22SPEAKER_00: I like to tell, like my clients that I do help with business, I always like to tell them, like, okay, here's how what I did, or here's how I've thought about this.
- 21:31SPEAKER_00: And you can kind of take that and apply it in a way that's gonna work for you, or really tuning into what I think is gonna work for them, even if it's not something that worked for me, you know, or maybe it's something I did in a different way, but just knowing who they are and where they're at, and being able to suggest things that I think will work for them specifically.
- 21:54SPEAKER_00: And it's interesting too, because I've had such a journey with helping people with their businesses and It's not something that I at this point, I help specific women with their businesses who, you know, have either gone through my certification program or who I am deeply connected to and feel really believe in what they're doing.
- 22:18SPEAKER_00: And I I want to help them.
- 22:21SPEAKER_00: So this isn't something that I've this isn't even something I was planning on talking about.
- 22:25SPEAKER_00: But I have this like second tier of the mothership, which is called the mothership business class.
- 22:32SPEAKER_00: And it's specifically to help women with their businesses who are in the mothership, which is my 12-month member membership, but also want more help with their businesses.
- 22:43SPEAKER_00: And there's a small group of them now who graduated the certification and I'm helping them grow their businesses, but also really supporting them and working with clients.
- 22:53SPEAKER_00: And to me, that is one of the benefits of the certification is being able to not only get like the skill set of how to facilitate breath work and how to pinpoint and heal trauma, but also the support in actually working with clients and things that come up and how to handle them.
- 23:19SPEAKER_00: And, you know, that's funny because most of the women now they know how to handle it, but they just kind of want to talk it through and get my feedback and my perspective, even though they have full confidence in themselves to do it.
- 23:36SPEAKER_00: And that is so valuable, you know.
- 23:38SPEAKER_00: So I love helping people with that.
- 23:40SPEAKER_00: But it's kind of one of those things that I don't outwardly talk about.
- 23:43SPEAKER_00: But when you're in my world, it's kind of an option if you want more support with that.
- 23:49SPEAKER_00: It's nice to have landed there because whenever I've done a strictly business container before, there was something about it that I didn't always love.
- 23:58SPEAKER_00: Like I love doing my trauma work, the metamorphosis method, and I love doing that more than anything else.
- 24:05SPEAKER_00: But when, you know, we've done that and you've done the certification and now the focus is the business, it's like there's a deeper meaning there.
- 24:16SPEAKER_00: And also getting to support women with working with their clients in doing this work is something that I just like love, love, love, love, love.
- 24:26SPEAKER_00: And I love to share, you know, like different things that I'm implementing and different things that I've learned and how I specifically deal with and look at certain client situations.
- 24:37SPEAKER_00: And I think that that's so important.
- 24:39SPEAKER_00: I think it's so important to get support in the work that you're doing with clients because it's just how we grow.
- 24:46SPEAKER_00: And I'm such a proponent of like I always tell all of my women who graduate the certification, I'm like, just start working with clients.
- 24:56SPEAKER_00: Because as soon as you start working with clients, you're gonna learn so much.
- 25:00SPEAKER_00: And also, that's part of the certification is you do exchanges and you do practice sessions nonstop.
- 25:07SPEAKER_00: So you get really comfortable working with clients really quickly.
- 25:10SPEAKER_00: But it's just like the more you work with clients, the more you learn about your own process, how you specifically do things, your gifts and abilities.
- 25:20SPEAKER_00: And then you build confidence in that and you start to be able to articulate that better and better, which if you want to run a business, like you have to fucking articulate that shit and it's annoying, but you have to be able to do it.
- 25:33SPEAKER_00: So, anyway, that was just a little bit of a rant, but I just wanted to say that.
- 25:38SPEAKER_00: And then, you know, moving into 2026, it's a one year and it's the start of a new cycle.
- 25:44SPEAKER_00: And it's really like, I think so many people are really aware of like what they are completing and letting go of, and like can feel this palpable shift moving into this one year and the one being about the individual.
- 26:00SPEAKER_00: It's like, well, what do you want your individual inner experience to be?
- 26:06SPEAKER_00: You know, and I think this way of orienting outwards towards other people to receive validation or reflection or approval is really shifting.
- 26:22SPEAKER_00: And the relationship with ourselves is literally the most important thing.
- 26:27SPEAKER_00: You know, I was talking this morning to a client about, you know, she's moving through some grief.
- 26:33SPEAKER_00: And my suggestion was to build a different relationship with it.
- 26:40SPEAKER_00: And instead of it being something that you look at as like a dark cloud or it's bad, what if you just embraced it and started to check in with it and started to instead of making it wrong, just build a different relationship with it as a practice.
- 27:02SPEAKER_00: And it doesn't have to be something that's like, okay, now I need to sit down every morning and like check in and breathe and all this stuff because I kind of hate this idea of routines at this point because I feel like they set everyone up for failure, because then, like, ultimately, the minute you stop doing your routine, you make yourself wrong or whatever.
- 27:22SPEAKER_00: And to me, I think it's better to just like have these like high-level things that you know you want to do and weave them into your life throughout the day as a practice, instead of having to make it a whole thing, you know?
- 27:37SPEAKER_00: And to me, that's really like how you build a different relationship with yourself.
- 27:43SPEAKER_00: And so much of like really creating a tangible change in your life is creating a different relationship with yourself and creating a different relationship with those parts of yourself that you've made wrong or that you've decided you have to change.
- 28:00SPEAKER_00: And instead of like fighting it, just embracing it and building a new relationship with it and getting curious about how you can listen to this part of yourself, you know, and a lot of this is how I do the inner child work is just building this new relationship with this part of yourself.
- 28:20SPEAKER_00: And instead of trying to push it away or make it go away, opening up to it and embracing it and accepting it and starting to listen to it.
- 28:30SPEAKER_00: Because I guarantee when you do that, everything shifts.
- 28:35SPEAKER_00: So I think that's kind of part of this theme of this one year, you know, is how we relate to ourselves as individuals and how we can shift the relationship to ourselves such that we start to have a different experience of the world.
- 28:51SPEAKER_00: And I think we're gonna see that a lot as a theme this year.
- 28:55SPEAKER_00: One of the other things I just wanted to touch on is I think the whole world of like spirituality and pop psychology has really like gone to an extreme that's like annoying to me, if I'm being honest.
- 29:12SPEAKER_00: And I think like there's so much information out there that I think people can take little snippets of things that could be helpful in a certain scenario and take it to the extreme and actually miss what it is that they need to look at in order to make a real change.
- 29:34SPEAKER_00: And to me, when I look at this work that I do with people, it's not about being enlightened or being super spiritual or getting like downloads or whatever, whatever it is.
- 29:50SPEAKER_00: And not that that's bad or anything, but it's really about like, okay, what is not working in your life?
- 29:57SPEAKER_00: And how can we look at the root of where that's coming from and change it so that your everyday experience is different?
- 30:06SPEAKER_00: And that's it, right?
- 30:08SPEAKER_00: And I think it's gotten so blown up into all of these healing modalities and kind of like putting people on pedestals as teachers or kind of running away from the things that need to be addressed through like plant medicine or like these high peak experiences that yes, feel good in the moment, but it's like, how is that actually helping to create a real change?
- 30:33SPEAKER_00: Because I think ultimately, whenever anybody goes down this type of path, it's because they want change.
- 30:40SPEAKER_00: So it's like instead of running away from the thing you want to change and starting to try to feel better through other means, why not just address the reason why this thing is happening so that it's done and it's not something you have to run away from or cope with, you know?
- 30:58SPEAKER_00: And to me, that's what I'm always want to focus on is like, how do I get a tangible result quickly and efficiently?
- 31:07SPEAKER_00: And it's actually really simple at the end of the day, because when you realize that it's actually just about feeling the feelings that you've been ignoring or not acknowledging in a safe container with someone who's skilled in supporting you and doing that efficiently, then you start to know yourself better, understand yourself better, relate to yourself better, you start to build a skill set for feeling your feelings, you start to build a capacity for feeling your feelings, you deepen your relationship with yourself, you become much more confident.
- 31:45SPEAKER_00: And then things start naturally happening that weren't happening before, and you were upset that they weren't happening before, but it was because you were trying to run away from the feelings versus just feeling them.
- 31:59SPEAKER_00: And I think there's a lot of nuance here, obviously, because you know, I see a lot of people who are really disconnected from their feelings.
- 32:06SPEAKER_00: So when I say stuff about feeling your feelings, it's like, well, what does that even mean?
- 32:10SPEAKER_00: I think I'm feeling my feelings, but when you're disconnected from them, you don't really have awareness about that.
- 32:15SPEAKER_00: And then I think there's like the opposite end of the spectrum of people who are like overly feeling their feelings, but not in a productive way.
- 32:23SPEAKER_00: And this is something that's come up recently with a couple of clients where the idea of feeling their feelings feels completely overwhelming because they're like, well, I've been feeling my feelings, I've been crying and I've been upset for years, and I don't want to feel this way anymore.
- 32:39SPEAKER_00: And what I always say is that the difference is focus and intention.
- 32:43SPEAKER_00: If you're upset about, you know, the way that your partner's treating you and you are always crying and upset about that, but you're just crying and upset about the way your partner's treating you.
- 32:56SPEAKER_00: You're not looking at why you really feel this way and why this behavior is so triggering and why you you've created this relationship in the first place.
- 33:08SPEAKER_00: Once you look at that and you become aware of that, and then you can feel the feelings through that lens of it's not about this circumstance in front of me, it's about the wounding from childhood that I'm recreating unconsciously in an effort to reconcile it.
- 33:27SPEAKER_00: When you go into that part of you and you bring that part of you into the fold and you feel the feelings through that lens, that's where you feel feelings and it's productive and things start to change.
- 33:41SPEAKER_00: So it's not just about feeling your feelings, it's about intentionally feeling them from the lens of where they began with a specific focus and a specific intention and a specific awareness so that you can process it from where it started instead of it just still living in your body and you recreating it through circumstances in your life.
- 34:07SPEAKER_00: And there's a really big difference there.
- 34:09SPEAKER_00: And obviously, we go so much deeper into this, you know, in the work in the metamorphosis or the mothership, in whatever way you choose to come in.
- 34:18SPEAKER_00: But I think that's really important to say because it's not just about crying and feeling your feelings, it's about feeling them in a very specific way, with very specific support and intention.
- 34:31SPEAKER_00: And when you do that, things really start to shift, you know, like things like anxiety that you just thought you had to cope with will naturally just go away.
- 34:40SPEAKER_00: And that's happened for so many people I've worked with, including myself.
- 34:44SPEAKER_00: And then also things like feeling stuck or self-doubt or fear of criticism or fear of rejection, you know, those things that kind of can debilitate us and show up as like lack of motivation or procrastination or indecision, like all those things just kind of fade.
- 35:00SPEAKER_00: It's not like you have to do anything to address it.
- 35:03SPEAKER_00: It's just that once you address the underlying suppressed emotions that that symptom is an expression of, then the symptom just goes away.
- 35:13SPEAKER_00: And that to me is how we create a real tangible change.
- 35:17SPEAKER_00: And that's what I've seen as evidence over the last six years with everybody who I've worked with.
- 35:24SPEAKER_00: So I think that that's something that I really like to emphasize and focus on in terms of what this work really is and what it isn't, you know, and it's not about just feeling better, because yes, we can do something to make ourselves feel better in the moment.
- 35:46SPEAKER_00: But if we're not addressing the cause of why you don't feel good in the first place and moving it out of the body through processing it emotionally and using the breath to move the energy out of the body, then it's just gonna keep coming back.
- 36:03SPEAKER_00: And then you're gonna have to keep doing something to feel better.
- 36:06SPEAKER_00: But it's like then you're in this perpetual cycle.
- 36:09SPEAKER_00: So it's like this work is about ending the cycle and it's about changing something permanently.
- 36:17SPEAKER_00: And then I think the last piece is this is something that I feel really strongly about too, is you know, this idea of healing just to heal, which I honestly don't believe in at all at this point, because I always say you don't want to go digging around in the mud for no reason.
- 36:34SPEAKER_00: Because a lot of times if you are think you just have to heal, which I'm not saying you shouldn't heal because you like if you know you need to, that's good.
- 36:45SPEAKER_00: But the most productive way of healing and the most productive way to like get a result is if you pair it with action.
- 36:53SPEAKER_00: So when we look at what's not working in your life now, and how can we look at why that's not working, right?
- 37:02SPEAKER_00: And address that through, you know, all the tools that I have.
- 37:06SPEAKER_00: But then also the next piece is then taking action towards the thing that you want.
- 37:13SPEAKER_00: And then once you do that, then the stuff comes up for you to look at and heal.
- 37:19SPEAKER_00: But if you don't take the action, then you kind of get stuck in this place of like spinning and this like healing and processing kind of thing without going anywhere.
- 37:29SPEAKER_00: And the whole point of healing is because you want your life to look different.
- 37:33SPEAKER_00: So unless you pair it with action, nothing is really gonna change.
- 37:38SPEAKER_00: So it's so important to be like, okay, well, what is it that I want to create?
- 37:43SPEAKER_00: Where do I want to go?
- 37:45SPEAKER_00: And then how can we take baby steps of action towards that and heal what comes up in the process?
- 37:51SPEAKER_00: Because once you take action, there's a whole new thing that comes up that's not gonna come up unless you take action.
- 37:58SPEAKER_00: And that's what informs the healing.
- 38:00SPEAKER_00: And I always say, like, the healing informs the action, and the action informs the healing.
- 38:04SPEAKER_00: We have to have both things paired, or we're really not gonna get anywhere.
- 38:08SPEAKER_00: And that's how we take it beyond just like feeling better for a period of time to like completely forgetting that this thing was even a problem, because now you're moving through life in a way that is beyond it.
- 38:23SPEAKER_00: And that's a place I've gotten to with a lot of people, and it's really incredible to watch, you know.
- 38:29SPEAKER_00: Like sometimes I'll say, like, remember when when you were so scared of social media or whatever it was, and now they're totally not anymore.
- 38:37SPEAKER_00: And it's like they don't even remember that.
- 38:40SPEAKER_00: And that's the goal, right?
- 38:42SPEAKER_00: So, you know, I think now we're we get so desensitized because there's so much out there around healing and inner child work and all this like pop psychology stuff.
- 38:54SPEAKER_00: And then it really, at the end of the day, the way that I look at it is like, well, what's actually gonna create a change?
- 39:01SPEAKER_00: What is actually going to make my life look different?
- 39:05SPEAKER_00: And that's the only thing I'm interested in.
- 39:07SPEAKER_00: I mean, obviously it's nice to have like a good experience.
- 39:10SPEAKER_00: Like I love a sound bath more than any, like as much as anybody, you know?
- 39:14SPEAKER_00: But at the end of the day, I'm like, what's actually gonna work?
- 39:18SPEAKER_00: What's actually gonna create a change?
- 39:21SPEAKER_00: And beyond that, everything is just kind of like fluff.
- 39:25SPEAKER_00: I don't like the word fluff anymore because I feel like Chat GBT uses it all the time.
- 39:30SPEAKER_00: And every time I see things written by AI, I feel like it uses the word fluff and it bothers me.
- 39:36SPEAKER_00: Now I have like an aversion to AI because I feel like I can just tell anything that's written by AI.
- 39:42SPEAKER_00: That's a whole other topic.
- 39:43SPEAKER_00: But anyway, I'm gonna wrap it up.
- 39:46SPEAKER_00: I don't even know what I just talked about, but apparently it was a 2025 wrap-up and a 2026 activation because here we go into 2026, the year of the individual, the year of you.
- 39:59SPEAKER_00: And I want to invite you to ask yourself like, what do I want my inner experience to be?
