- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to Hawk Talk with former Seahawks wide receiver
- 0:04Speaker 1: Michael Bumpus, powered by Seahawks dot Com. Now here's your host,
- 0:09Speaker 1: Nasa Chobee.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Welcome into another edition of Hawk Talk.
- 0:13Speaker 1: The Seahawks coming off a thrilling eighteen to sixteen victory
- 0:16Speaker 1: over the Indianapolis Colts.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Bump It doesn't matter if that's not how you drew
- 0:19Speaker 2: it up. Hey, don't mad he got the W. I
- 0:21Speaker 2: don't care if.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Jason Myers had six field goals. Nah, I don't care
- 0:23Speaker 1: about it because it's a win.
- 0:24Speaker 2: Hey. They pay him to kick him, so you might
- 0:26Speaker 2: as well make them all of them.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, I prefer extra points out of Jason.
- 0:30Speaker 1: He's great, you know what I'm saying. But like he
- 0:32Speaker 1: did his thing, and listen Sunday again, Like I said,
- 0:36Speaker 1: wasn't what you draw up. You have a forty four
- 0:37Speaker 1: year old Philip Rivers coming to Lewinfield has not played
- 0:40Speaker 1: a down of football in five years, eighteen hundred days,
- 0:43Speaker 1: comes in there.
- 0:44Speaker 2: And he hasn't competing.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Yeah, no offensive touchdown for the Seahawks two of thirteen
- 0:48Speaker 1: and third downs where they found a way to pull
- 0:49Speaker 1: out a tough, hard nosed victory, and that's what it's
- 0:51Speaker 1: all about.
- 0:52Speaker 3: In December, Yeah, man, the Seahawks are now seventeen and
- 0:55Speaker 3: five their last twenty two games, which is tied for
- 0:57Speaker 3: best in the league. In the Hawks are eleven and
- 1:01Speaker 3: three and have everything to play for. This Thursday night
- 1:04Speaker 3: got a big one. Oh is it a big one?
- 1:06Speaker 2: Something?
- 1:07Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:07Speaker 1: We're gonna spend plenty of time talking about what I
- 1:10Speaker 1: was going down on Thursday night. But before we get
- 1:12Speaker 1: to that, we gotta tell you what happened yesterday.
- 1:14Speaker 2: When it happened. See what happened was what had happened
- 1:20Speaker 2: at first, was what happened was on Hawk Talk.
- 1:24Speaker 1: There's a reason you play the games, Bumps, And we
- 1:26Speaker 1: found that out NFL.
- 1:27Speaker 4: Not for long.
- 1:28Speaker 1: Anything can happen in this league. Phil Rivers comes off
- 1:30Speaker 1: the couch and he's ready to play. And honestly, Bump,
- 1:33Speaker 1: he looked a lot better than I thought. I knew
- 1:35Speaker 1: he was gonna be right mentally, and he got them
- 1:36Speaker 1: into situations. Don't get me wrong. He didn't look like
- 1:39Speaker 1: Matthew Stafford or Sam Donald and Roger any of those people,
- 1:42Speaker 1: but he came out there, he gave them a chance
- 1:44Speaker 1: to win, and he actually played decently.
- 1:46Speaker 3: Yeah, you could tell he's lost some juice in the
- 1:50Speaker 3: arm for show. But man, he put them in a
- 1:52Speaker 3: position to win a ball game, and that's all you
- 1:54Speaker 3: could ask for. There's a time where they thought they
- 1:56Speaker 3: won that ball game, was celebrating on the sideline's Yeah,
- 2:00Speaker 3: the game. It wasn't full offense. Right in the first quarter,
- 2:02Speaker 3: both teams traded punts and then traded field goals. The
- 2:04Speaker 3: next two drives were in punts as well, and then
- 2:07Speaker 3: the Seahawks had a drop pass.
- 2:10Speaker 2: You never see that from our guy.
- 2:12Speaker 1: No, no, I mean that whole It was uncharacteristic that
- 2:16Speaker 1: the type of play we're not used to seeing.
- 2:18Speaker 2: That drive you're talking about.
- 2:19Speaker 1: You had to drop pass, you had a penalty, you
- 2:21Speaker 1: had a sack, and it was a negative five yard drive.
- 2:24Speaker 1: The Colts were really how that game started there, winning
- 2:26Speaker 1: the field position battle early on, and they continue to
- 2:28Speaker 1: do that throughout. They would get a field goal, they
- 2:30Speaker 1: made the score six to three early on. The Hawks
- 2:32Speaker 1: would answer after you know, three and out, or they
- 2:34Speaker 1: would answer with a three out.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Excuse me, Colts, they don't have their best drive of
- 2:38Speaker 2: the game.
- 2:38Speaker 1: The only touchdown we saw bump It was a ten
- 2:40Speaker 1: play fifty eight yard drive that ended with Philip Rivers
- 2:42Speaker 1: connected with Josh downs four, an eight yard touchdown they
- 2:45Speaker 1: made to score thirteen to three, which is crazy because
- 2:48Speaker 1: they had turned and told you this in the booth.
- 2:49Speaker 1: That was the biggest deficite since the Seahawks lost to
- 2:51Speaker 1: the Rams before that and the only time we got
- 2:53Speaker 1: to see Uncle Phil doing his little celebration thing. And
- 2:56Speaker 1: I was like, I wasn't expecting to see that. But
- 2:58Speaker 1: briag ups to them. They get to Coastar play and
- 3:00Speaker 1: they came out ready to go.
- 3:01Speaker 2: Yeah, it was a good play.
- 3:01Speaker 3: Coll him and man had Josh just dragging across the field,
- 3:04Speaker 3: so you know, they edit the thing. But the Hawks
- 3:05Speaker 3: would answer, what a field goal has time expired and
- 3:07Speaker 3: would go into the tunnel trailing thirteen to six, something
- 3:11Speaker 3: that we're not used to. The Hawks would then kick
- 3:13Speaker 3: another field goal to start the second half, making a
- 3:15Speaker 3: score thirteen and nine. This was the only possible This
- 3:18Speaker 3: was only possible because a fourth down conversion from Aj Barner.
- 3:21Speaker 2: Aj. AJ's putting together a nice little season this year,
- 3:24Speaker 2: no question about it.
- 3:25Speaker 1: I mean, you might not have the crazy numbers that
- 3:27Speaker 1: Trey McBride's having over there in Arizona, for example. Obviously
- 3:30Speaker 1: Aj is a part of a different thing going on.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Obviously the Seahawks are eleven and three, the Cardinals three
- 3:34Speaker 1: and eleven. But anyway, no, I love what we're seeing
- 3:36Speaker 1: from Aj Barner. That was a huge play made that
- 3:38Speaker 1: thirteen to nine next three drive, those ending puns before
- 3:41Speaker 1: the Seahawks would have their best drive of the day,
- 3:43Speaker 1: going eight plays, sixty three yards, settling for another Jason
- 3:46Speaker 1: meyersfield goal that made the score thirteen to twelve, still trailing.
- 3:49Speaker 3: And the Hawks will force a punt and now to
- 3:51Speaker 3: get the ball back and go eighty two yards and
- 3:52Speaker 3: eleven plays but stalled out in the red zone, selling
- 3:55Speaker 3: for another field goal. There's a theme here taking the
- 3:58Speaker 3: League of fifteen team Colts.
- 4:01Speaker 1: So Bryce Groopy, he gets out there and this is
- 4:03Speaker 1: what you referenced a second ago. He kicks a career
- 4:06Speaker 1: long sixty yard field goal, and he's hype, hype, Stichen's hype.
- 4:09Speaker 2: Everyone hyping their sideline rightfully.
- 4:11Speaker 1: So they're in playing one of the best teams the
- 4:13Speaker 1: NFL on the road down inside a minute and they
- 4:16Speaker 1: just kicked a sixty yard field goal to take the lead.
- 4:18Speaker 2: They go up sixteen to fifteen.
- 4:20Speaker 1: But here's something that Mike McDonald should get more credit
- 4:24Speaker 1: for across the league his game management skills. Every time
- 4:27Speaker 1: you look up at this at the scoreboard fourth quarter
- 4:29Speaker 1: for game, you know what happens. Seahawks have all three timeouts.
- 4:32Speaker 1: And then with this is a big discussion last night,
- 4:34Speaker 1: and while I was going on, people are like, why
- 4:35Speaker 1: is he taking the timeouts? Presence of mind, Okay, the
- 4:39Speaker 1: way kickers are going this day and age, that's not
- 4:42Speaker 1: that hard for them, right, So we need to make
- 4:44Speaker 1: sure that there's time for our offense to get down
- 4:46Speaker 1: the field and have a chance to score at the
- 4:47Speaker 1: end of the game. Pust McDonald gave Brian Ayres kind
- 4:49Speaker 1: of the credit for that and helping them to the clock
- 4:52Speaker 1: and game management that kept her alive for the offense bump.
- 4:55Speaker 1: And then Sam Donald had just forty seven seconds left
- 4:58Speaker 1: with no timeouts to do his thing.
- 4:59Speaker 3: Yeah, he found Rashid Shahed. They were the MVPs of
- 5:02Speaker 3: that final drive. Man, it started with a great return
- 5:04Speaker 3: by Shaheed, which is clutched. I don't think people talk
- 5:06Speaker 3: about that enough either. Man, that thirty seven yard at
- 5:10Speaker 3: all twenty excuse me, it was a twenty eight yard return,
- 5:12Speaker 3: and then Darnold would find Shahed on completions of seventeen
- 5:15Speaker 3: and eight yards. That's set of Meyers kick for the
- 5:17Speaker 3: goal ahead, fifty six yard field goal and the Hawks
- 5:19Speaker 3: took the lead eighteen sixteen.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Yeah, and then sugar on top. Phil Rivers comes back out.
- 5:24Speaker 1: We're gonna talk about this play in a little bit.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Kobe Bryant seals the deal with then interception. Seahawks get
- 5:28Speaker 1: out of there. It wasn't super pretty when they drew
- 5:30Speaker 1: it up, but that's how you win football games. In
- 5:32Speaker 1: December eighteen to sixteen, and when you look at this
- 5:34Speaker 1: box score, bum I mean, the Hawks outgained the Colts
- 5:36Speaker 1: three fourteen, two fifteen, but they lost time, possession, the
- 5:39Speaker 1: culture five and thirteen h third down, the Seahawks were
- 5:41Speaker 1: just two of thirteen.
- 5:42Speaker 2: That's hard to win that way.
- 5:44Speaker 1: Colts out rushed the Seahawks ninety seven to fifty, but
- 5:46Speaker 1: the Seahawks did extend their streak to twenty three straight
- 5:49Speaker 1: games without allowing one hundred yard rusher, which was pretty
- 5:51Speaker 1: impressive considering Jonathan Taylor was running that thing.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Twenty five carries held them there just eighty seven yards.
- 5:56Speaker 3: Man i thought this might be the week where I
- 5:59Speaker 3: did streak ends because Jonathan Taylor, But no, they did
- 6:02Speaker 3: their thing. Man. Rivers played okay, eighteen to twenty seven
- 6:05Speaker 3: a buck twenty one touchdown, one interception to Hawks had
- 6:07Speaker 3: won four in a row and eight of their last nine.
- 6:10Speaker 3: You win, you don't apologize. I don't care what it
- 6:13Speaker 3: looks like. You get that w You move on.
- 6:15Speaker 1: You're eleven and three, best record in the NFC. Tie
- 6:17Speaker 1: with the Rams setting up the showdown, they were about
- 6:18Speaker 1: to talk about bump but overarching, what'd you learn from
- 6:20Speaker 1: this game?
- 6:21Speaker 2: Man?
- 6:21Speaker 3: That uh and then as gotta be pretty and that
- 6:26Speaker 3: Myers is clutched and he's probably gonna be NFC Special
- 6:29Speaker 3: Teamer of the Week. I think the second time getting
- 6:31Speaker 3: this award, he got the Player of the Month. But
- 6:33Speaker 3: I learned that there's a lot of fighting this team.
- 6:36Speaker 3: And you know, I was looking on the sidelines. I'm
- 6:38Speaker 3: trying to check the body language of everybody. Right, it's
- 6:40Speaker 3: an ugly game. The offense didn't make too many plays.
- 6:42Speaker 3: It didn't make them down the end. No one seemed
- 6:44Speaker 3: like they flinched. No one seemed like they were getting
- 6:47Speaker 3: on the offense or the defense. Everyone was just in
- 6:49Speaker 3: this together. So no, they I didn't want to see this,
- 6:52Speaker 3: but I'm glad I saw it come from behind win
- 6:53Speaker 3: because that's something I haven't done yet this year.
- 6:55Speaker 2: Yeah, and just to win a game in that fashion.
- 6:57Speaker 1: We've talked about how many different ways they've won football
- 6:59Speaker 1: games this year, but to have to do it in
- 7:01Speaker 1: the last drive, I thought it was huge for Sam Donald.
- 7:03Speaker 2: We know he can do it.
- 7:03Speaker 1: Yeah, he would have done it two other times this year,
- 7:05Speaker 1: but just really bad luck, you know, outside of his control.
- 7:08Speaker 1: But to see him do that at the end of
- 7:09Speaker 1: the game, and just to know at any point, every
- 7:11Speaker 1: phase of the game has been counted on at some
- 7:13Speaker 1: point this year and they've came out big to help
- 7:15Speaker 1: the Seahawks get wins.
- 7:16Speaker 2: So love to see that. And there's people making plays
- 7:18Speaker 2: all over the field. Tuck playmakers told him what.
- 7:27Speaker 4: Time it is?
- 7:28Speaker 1: Holy Well, in about I don't know, almost ten years
- 7:32Speaker 1: of doing this podcast, Bump, this is the first time
- 7:34Speaker 1: we were starting playmakers with a kicker.
- 7:35Speaker 2: Jason Myers do his thing.
- 7:37Speaker 1: Six of six, including the game winning fifty six yarder,
- 7:40Speaker 1: set a career high in points this season. Now it's
- 7:41Speaker 1: one hundred and fifty three also set a franchise record,
- 7:44Speaker 1: where those six made field goals in a game also
- 7:46Speaker 1: broke his own franchise record now his thirty seven field
- 7:49Speaker 1: goals on the season. Not much you can say from
- 7:50Speaker 1: Jason Myers out there helping bail the Seahawks out on Sunday.
- 7:53Speaker 3: Meyer's doing his thing. Man doing his thing. Sam Donald
- 7:56Speaker 3: had a I called it a responsible game. This was
- 7:59Speaker 3: a responsible game from Sam Donald. Twenty two to thirty six,
- 8:01Speaker 3: two seventy one, zero touchdowns, zero in susceptions. But he
- 8:04Speaker 3: led his eighth game winning drive in the fourth quarter
- 8:07Speaker 3: or overtime since twenty twenty four, the second most in
- 8:10Speaker 3: the NFL. Who's first is a pat Probably it probably passed, sure,
- 8:14Speaker 3: but no. I was talking to Stacy and she was
- 8:17Speaker 3: trying to describe it. I go, No, this was just
- 8:18Speaker 3: a responsible game. The parents left on vacation. He didn't
- 8:22Speaker 3: mess up the house. Everything's still need. He did what
- 8:24Speaker 3: he was supposed to do. No, and when I love
- 8:26Speaker 3: no turnovers. The two things we just talked about it
- 8:28Speaker 3: no turnovers, took care of the football. Came down to
- 8:30Speaker 3: that finishing drive to put the Seahawks over top. And
- 8:32Speaker 3: what I love too is that third down play right
- 8:34Speaker 3: before it, she heat twice and then on third down
- 8:37Speaker 3: it's not there.
- 8:37Speaker 1: Let me dirt this thing. I'm protecting the football, not
- 8:40Speaker 1: giving away in the situation. So Sam doing a great
- 8:42Speaker 1: job there, and then Jackson Smith and Jig but of
- 8:44Speaker 1: course he's a staple in this segment. Seven receptions, one
- 8:47Speaker 1: hundred and thirteen yards. You talked about it. It felt
- 8:49Speaker 1: like a sneaky one thirteen. But he had two big plays.
- 8:51Speaker 1: He had a thirty nine yarder. I believe he had
- 8:53Speaker 1: a twenty nine yarder and just continue to chip away.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Passed Justin Jefferson for the most ninety yard games in
- 8:57Speaker 1: a single season by a player twenty three years or
- 8:59Speaker 1: younger with twelve. He also became a sixth player in
- 9:03Speaker 1: NFL history at least ninety receiving yards in twelve games
- 9:05Speaker 1: in a single season, draining his teammate Cooper Cup, Antonio Brown,
- 9:08Speaker 1: Julio Jones, and Michael Irving. Calvin Johnson. Pretty good list beyond.
- 9:13Speaker 1: He now has nine to one hundred yard games on
- 9:15Speaker 1: the season. That's the most in the NFL and a
- 9:17Speaker 1: franchise single season record. Continues to have an unbelievable season.
- 9:20Speaker 1: You run out of word to describe Number eleven smooth
- 9:22Speaker 1: operator smooth. This next one Rashid Shaheed. Second game in row,
- 9:26Speaker 1: he's out over sixty yards. What he got like sixty
- 9:28Speaker 1: seven last week?
- 9:29Speaker 3: I want to say he had five for seventy four
- 9:31Speaker 3: this week, a solid return instead of the game winning
- 9:33Speaker 3: field goal. His third career return touchdown was last week.
- 9:37Speaker 3: This dude is slowly starting to morph into the guy
- 9:40Speaker 3: that we we thought we were gonna get.
- 9:42Speaker 2: Now it went his fault.
- 9:43Speaker 3: I'm not saying my man wasn't doing his name, but
- 9:44Speaker 3: you gotta ge acclimated to this offense.
- 9:46Speaker 2: I heard him talk to him. I think it was Bob.
- 9:48Speaker 3: Why'ming to Bob and he's talking about how he's just
- 9:50Speaker 3: getting the chemistry with Sam Donald. They're starting to field
- 9:53Speaker 3: where he's supposed to be on the football field. He's
- 9:55Speaker 3: he's an impact player.
- 9:56Speaker 1: Now for sure they're gonna get there too. I mean,
- 9:59Speaker 1: the nearly miss each other down in LA the last
- 10:02Speaker 1: time there was one play in this Colts gamer is a
- 10:04Speaker 1: little behind. But once that timing is on point and
- 10:06Speaker 1: they're almost there, Yeah, it's gonna be scary, especially with
- 10:08Speaker 1: those who running with gas and the Cooper Cup. So
- 10:10Speaker 1: it could be dangerous out there defensively. Looking at Ernest Jones,
- 10:13Speaker 1: ten tackles led the team. He now has one hundred
- 10:16Speaker 1: tackles for the fourth consecutive season.
- 10:18Speaker 2: Level we're seeing from him.
- 10:20Speaker 1: And then Nicki Minore, we spent a lot of time
- 10:22Speaker 1: talking about him in the pregame show.
- 10:23Speaker 2: One of the most versatile dudes out there.
- 10:25Speaker 1: We know the game he had against Atlanta, seven tackles,
- 10:27Speaker 1: one sack, one TfL.
- 10:28Speaker 2: Once you'd be at two passes defended. Even Warrey doing
- 10:30Speaker 2: his thing. He's man, he's not even playing like a
- 10:34Speaker 2: rookie anymore.
- 10:34Speaker 3: I mean, well, what do we uh, fourteen games in
- 10:37Speaker 3: it's about math, correct, fourteen games games, playing bye week,
- 10:40Speaker 3: He's he's pasted at the college season. You know, this
- 10:43Speaker 3: is where you kind of start to really see what
- 10:45Speaker 3: rookies are made of. And I love seeing Nick de
- 10:47Speaker 3: Doua saying Leo did his thing too. Five tackles, two TFLs,
- 10:50Speaker 3: two quarterback hits. And then of course our guy, Man,
- 10:53Speaker 3: I'm so happy for this dude, Kobe Bryant. He's been
- 10:56Speaker 3: one of my favorite players since he touched down here.
- 10:58Speaker 3: He has three tackles, one pass defendant, one interception instead
- 11:01Speaker 3: a single season career high with his fourth pick.
- 11:06Speaker 1: I mean he does what he does. Man, I love
- 11:08Speaker 1: what we're seeing from him. He is a playmaker. And
- 11:11Speaker 1: just to shut it down. And we're about to get
- 11:12Speaker 1: to Kobe Bryant, but before we do that, we're flipping
- 11:15Speaker 1: over to our plays of the game. Someone who's made
- 11:17Speaker 1: a staple in this segment all season long. Sam Darnold
- 11:20Speaker 1: hooking up with JSN for a thirty nine yard game play.
- 11:24Speaker 2: Fake.
- 11:24Speaker 4: Donald steps up in the pocket, goes to the right side,
- 11:27Speaker 4: perfect throw. JSN makes a catch, breaks a tackle, forty
- 11:31Speaker 4: five forty thirty five run out of bound, thirty yard line,
- 11:36Speaker 4: find them, runs them out of bounds far side Jackson
- 11:40Speaker 4: Smith and Jigba has.
- 11:43Speaker 2: Been an explosion waiting to happen, and he does.
- 11:46Speaker 4: There, Donald with a dark getting out of trouble. He
- 11:50Speaker 4: spins off a tackler does JSN go thirty nine picks
- 11:55Speaker 4: up the first down Seahawks in Indie territory. JSN seven
- 11:59Speaker 4: catches one hundred and fourteen yards.
- 12:02Speaker 2: All right, man, you got JAYSN.
- 12:03Speaker 3: I believe that's Rashi Shahid stacked to the right of
- 12:06Speaker 3: Sam Darnold.
- 12:07Speaker 2: You got a little zone man.
- 12:08Speaker 3: The guy outside the furthest dB outside is gonna drop
- 12:11Speaker 3: him too. The zone the guy inside is gonna drop Himo.
- 12:13Speaker 3: The flap and the safety over the top. You're pretty
- 12:15Speaker 3: much gonna high low that safety, make him, make him
- 12:18Speaker 3: make a decision. Right, And now you've got the running
- 12:20Speaker 3: back coming out of the backfield that's gonna pull a
- 12:22Speaker 3: defender with him. I point all this out because it
- 12:24Speaker 3: just shows how spacing works in this whole deal.
- 12:27Speaker 2: Right, you got Rashid who's going up high.
- 12:29Speaker 3: You got jsm down low running his speed out and
- 12:32Speaker 3: he sits it down. I wonder if he sits it
- 12:34Speaker 3: down or the throw sits him down because Sam Donald
- 12:36Speaker 3: feels that outside defender. Either way it works out. But
- 12:39Speaker 3: nas he catches the football yards out of the catch.
- 12:42Speaker 3: But what's more impressive to me this is Sam Donald
- 12:44Speaker 3: stepping up in that pocket.
- 12:45Speaker 2: Right.
- 12:46Speaker 3: You got abe doing what exactly we're supposed to do.
- 12:48Speaker 3: You guy wants to get too far vertical, you wash
- 12:50Speaker 3: him down the field. Sam steps up two hands on
- 12:53Speaker 3: the on the rock and then rolls to his right
- 12:55Speaker 3: side and just throws a dart. I want to say
- 12:57Speaker 3: Sam sat him down because he felt that that dB
- 12:59Speaker 3: over there.
- 13:00Speaker 2: Great playing.
- 13:01Speaker 1: Yeah, you nailed it all in the head right there,
- 13:03Speaker 1: Abe Lucas talking about he's also defending their best pass rusher,
- 13:06Speaker 1: in my opinion, Latsu Latsu, who was a problem all
- 13:08Speaker 1: day long. So that's a great thing there. And Sam
- 13:10Speaker 1: his eyes, they they never dropped down at all. You know,
- 13:13Speaker 1: Charbonne is there in the flat that yourew defender. If
- 13:16Speaker 1: he throws the Charbonnet, it's probably complete. But Sharbon is
- 13:18Speaker 1: being tackled immediately. This is a huge play in the game,
- 13:20Speaker 1: go aheadfield goal. So love what we saw from standing there,
- 13:23Speaker 1: keeping our eyes up down the field. And then Jacksonmith Ajibba,
- 13:26Speaker 1: you're doing it on your own. That's a linebacker in
- 13:28Speaker 1: a corner, lowing them inside. And if you're a coach,
- 13:31Speaker 1: you're like, man, you know he wants to get back outside.
- 13:34Speaker 1: I can't tell you, as a defender how many times
- 13:36Speaker 1: you've been yelled that when people are like, why are
- 13:38Speaker 1: you going inside?
- 13:39Speaker 2: He wants to get back outside.
- 13:40Speaker 1: But guys like Jayson or that's just smooth operator like
- 13:43Speaker 1: you mentioned that kind of wiggle and those are just
- 13:46Speaker 1: game winning plays. Good football team make plays like that
- 13:49Speaker 1: when they need to. In the clutch and that's what happened.
- 13:51Speaker 1: Jayson Sam Darnold been on the paint the same page
- 13:54Speaker 1: all year long doing their thing. Now you talked about it.
- 13:57Speaker 1: This kind of put the icing on the cake for
- 13:58Speaker 1: the Seahawk to get this dub. Kobe Bryant picking off
- 14:01Speaker 1: Philip Rivers.
- 14:02Speaker 4: Taylor in the backfield. Four Rivers takes the snap, four
- 14:08Speaker 4: man rush. Rivers gonna throw down the seam, gonna.
- 14:11Speaker 2: Be intercepted, and that's gonna do it. Bowls high to
- 14:15Speaker 2: the intended receiver.
- 14:17Speaker 4: It is picked off by Kobe Bryant and he races
- 14:22Speaker 4: to the south end zone, his fourth interception of the season,
- 14:26Speaker 4: a career high. The Seahawks defense, they nail it on
- 14:32Speaker 4: the second to last play of the game, picking off
- 14:36Speaker 4: Philip Rivers, and that is gonna do it. The Seahawks
- 14:41Speaker 4: are gonna hang on and win.
- 14:45Speaker 3: All right, man, you got a too high look right here.
- 14:47Speaker 3: But let's focus on the formation that the Colts are room.
- 14:49Speaker 3: You got trips to the left side of Philip Rivers.
- 14:52Speaker 3: I call this like an over concept, right. You got
- 14:55Speaker 3: your one guy, your number three receiver who's gonna break
- 14:57Speaker 3: around eight to ten yards and try to pull guys
- 14:59Speaker 3: with him at like a skinny post that turns flat
- 15:01Speaker 3: by the number two receiver, and then you have a
- 15:03Speaker 3: dig on that side, and it's just a zone. It's
- 15:05Speaker 3: his zone match right, It's a zone. And then once
- 15:08Speaker 3: all three get vertical, you see your definishes kind of
- 15:10Speaker 3: matchup with each guy. I'm locked up here, Spoon's locked up,
- 15:13Speaker 3: and then I think there's that reakup top.
- 15:15Speaker 2: Break is locked up as well.
- 15:17Speaker 3: So now this is Kobe Bryan following the eyes of
- 15:19Speaker 3: the quarterback and getting where he's supposed to be. Kobe
- 15:21Speaker 3: Bryant needs to take Witherspoon out to dinner, all right,
- 15:24Speaker 3: because he's the one who really makes this happen. But
- 15:26Speaker 3: Kobe is a safety. That's why they call him safety.
- 15:28Speaker 3: He's the last line of defense. You just get deeper
- 15:30Speaker 3: than the deepest and you catch this football. But I mean,
- 15:33Speaker 3: I'm sitting here with a safety. What you're seeing from Kobe.
- 15:37Speaker 2: Now two things.
- 15:38Speaker 1: Number One, you're finding work, knowing time and score situation.
- 15:42Speaker 1: You're starting to play about sixteen yard depth. You're getting depth.
- 15:45Speaker 1: You're keeping everything in front of you. You mentioned it.
- 15:47Speaker 1: Witherspoon is a great job opening his hips. Essentially running
- 15:49Speaker 1: the route. The receiver slips down before unfortunate for him there,
- 15:53Speaker 1: And I just call that finding work. You're staying over
- 15:55Speaker 1: the top. You're not gonna get beat in this situation,
- 15:57Speaker 1: right and you just finding work. You where you're supposed
- 15:59Speaker 1: to be. You run towards the football. Good things happen there.
- 16:02Speaker 1: And the other thing I noticed, too, is this is
- 16:05Speaker 1: one of the few situations the whole game where the
- 16:07Speaker 1: Seahawks force Philip Rivers to have to push the ball
- 16:09Speaker 1: down the field. Obviously it's a time and score. They
- 16:11Speaker 1: have to get it right now. There's only X amount
- 16:13Speaker 1: of time on the clock. And this is where it looked.
- 16:15Speaker 1: That's where it didn't look that great. Yeah, Philip had
- 16:17Speaker 1: a step into his throw there, and I love what
- 16:20Speaker 1: we saw from the defensive line. Yes, right, it's a
- 16:22Speaker 1: nice little stunt there. You got boy Mafe and de
- 16:25Speaker 1: Lai working with each other right there, and they make
- 16:28Speaker 1: him get this ball out right now. He might want
- 16:30Speaker 1: to take another beat, he does not have time because
- 16:32Speaker 1: DeMarcus Lawrence boy Mafe creating pressure right there. And then
- 16:35Speaker 1: again Witherspoon, great job getting making that ball be elevated.
- 16:39Speaker 1: Kobe Bryant doing his thing, catching the football and it
- 16:41Speaker 1: all works out.
- 16:42Speaker 2: Baby. Yes, sir, team defense, let's go.
- 16:44Speaker 1: This team is playing great football and bump. That takes
- 16:47Speaker 1: us to who the Seahawks are about to play. We've
- 16:50Speaker 1: been talking about this all year long. We've been waiting
- 16:54Speaker 1: for to be able to talk about this game because
- 16:56Speaker 1: it's finally here, Seahawks taking on the Rams.
- 16:59Speaker 2: As we get to that, what's on tap? What's on tap?
- 17:04Speaker 1: Bos Angeles Rams Division rivals eleven and three, first place
- 17:07Speaker 1: in the NFC West wins over the Texans, Titans, Colts, Ravens, Jags, Saints,
- 17:11Speaker 1: forty nine Ers, Seahawks, Bucks, Panthers, Cardinals, Lions. Only lost
- 17:15Speaker 1: of this year to the Eagles in the forty nine
- 17:17Speaker 1: Ers that Eagles game that was a block kick run
- 17:20Speaker 1: back for a touchdown, and that one San Francisco. I
- 17:22Speaker 1: don't remember how that game finished on the top of
- 17:24Speaker 1: my head, but I remember it's a little sloppy there.
- 17:26Speaker 1: Either way. The Rams, we know what it is. Seahawks
- 17:29Speaker 1: have played them before this year, you know. And after
- 17:31Speaker 1: a crazy loss to the Panthers, which is great because
- 17:34Speaker 1: I set this kind of this matchup up with dueling
- 17:36Speaker 1: eleven and three records they lost to the Panthers, but
- 17:39Speaker 1: they came back. They bounced back strong. Yesterday bump they
- 17:41Speaker 1: hosted the Detroit Lions.
- 17:43Speaker 2: Yeah. Man, this game was important for both teams, especially
- 17:45Speaker 2: the lines.
- 17:45Speaker 3: For now two games back of Chicago's surprise pro Chicago
- 17:48Speaker 3: hope for they're balling in their theme. They're fine for
- 17:51Speaker 3: wildcard spots, so they needed to have this game. Unfortunately
- 17:53Speaker 3: for the Seahawks fans, they were unable to get that done.
- 17:57Speaker 2: We were all Lions fans yesterday.
- 17:58Speaker 3: After missing a field go on the first drive, Aden
- 18:00Speaker 3: Hutchinson came up with a big interception and ran it
- 18:02Speaker 3: back fifty eight yards to that house. That set upout
- 18:05Speaker 3: a Monron Saint Brown touchdown that made the score seven zero.
- 18:08Speaker 3: He didn't take it fifty yards at house, but he
- 18:10Speaker 3: took it back fifty eight.
- 18:11Speaker 2: Yeah, and it was a bounce, you know.
- 18:13Speaker 1: They jumped ahead, and I was feeling good about the
- 18:15Speaker 1: one two I was watching very closely during the seas
- 18:18Speaker 1: game ended up being twenty four to seventeen and a
- 18:20Speaker 1: half and then bomb it was all she wrote, seventeen
- 18:22Speaker 1: unanswered and the Rams did what they did.
- 18:24Speaker 3: Yeah, the lines, they tried to make it interesting, right,
- 18:27Speaker 3: made a one score game, but the Rams eventually led
- 18:29Speaker 3: at the clock up and they were good. Matthew Stafford
- 18:31Speaker 3: twenty four to thirty eight, three sixty eight, two touchdowns.
- 18:33Speaker 2: He actually threw an interception. He don't do that more
- 18:35Speaker 2: that much anymore.
- 18:36Speaker 3: Kamen Williams had fifteen carries for seventy eight and two touchdowns.
- 18:39Speaker 3: Pooka had a Dame nine receptions for one eighty one
- 18:42Speaker 3: and then former see how Kobe Parkerson at five for
- 18:45Speaker 3: seventy five yards and two touchdowns. On the other side,
- 18:47Speaker 3: Jered Goff was twenty four forty one, three hundred and
- 18:50Speaker 3: thirty eight yards and three touchdowns. A mon Rock Saint
- 18:52Speaker 3: Brown had thirteen receptions for one sixty four and two touchdowns.
- 18:55Speaker 2: Those receivers were going at it yesterday.
- 18:56Speaker 1: Man, Yeah, no, right off top. A Monrai is one
- 18:59Speaker 1: of the best receivers the league as well. He's definitely
- 19:01Speaker 1: in that conversation and for the Rams, Kolbe Parkinson, he is.
- 19:04Speaker 1: He's kind of turning into that player that the Seahawks
- 19:07Speaker 1: drafting that they are hoping that he would be a
- 19:09Speaker 1: red zone target, someone that has clearly really improved in
- 19:12Speaker 1: his run blocking ability since he's been in the league
- 19:14Speaker 1: and just being a big target down the field. So
- 19:16Speaker 1: interesting to see him do that. And he'll be in
- 19:18Speaker 1: a fun matchup for the Seahawks on Sunday. These teams,
- 19:21Speaker 1: obviously NFC West rivals, they play all the time.
- 19:24Speaker 2: Let's know the history, no your history.
- 19:28Speaker 1: If you include the postseason bump, the all time series
- 19:30Speaker 1: is tied twenty eight to twenty eight. Wow, twenty Seahawks
- 19:34Speaker 1: are twenty eight twenty six in the regular season oh
- 19:35Speaker 1: to two in the postseason. However, the Rams, unfortunately have
- 19:38Speaker 1: won four of the last five ball games. Everyone remembers
- 19:42Speaker 1: what happened in that first matchup heartbreaking fashion for the Seahawks,
- 19:45Speaker 1: and it came down turnovers. The Seahawks turned the ball
- 19:48Speaker 1: over four times and that was really the difference in
- 19:50Speaker 1: the game, because if you looked at any other stat
- 19:52Speaker 1: you would have thought the Seahawks won. They outgained the
- 19:54Speaker 1: Rams four fourteen to two forty nine, held the Rams
- 19:56Speaker 1: of two of eleven on third down. Hawks at twenty
- 19:59Speaker 1: six first downs they he had twelve. Hawks won time
- 20:01Speaker 1: in possession thirty seven forty nine to twenty two to eleven.
- 20:04Speaker 1: Sacks hit ran seventy nine plays, Rams ran fifty Matthew
- 20:08Speaker 1: Stafford was held one hundred and thirty yards in a
- 20:10Speaker 1: season fifty three complete a percentage held the Rams of
- 20:12Speaker 1: two hundred and forty nine total yards.
- 20:14Speaker 2: Crazy.
- 20:15Speaker 1: After giving up two touchdowns early on, the Seahawks forts
- 20:17Speaker 1: a punt on a turnover on seven of the last
- 20:19Speaker 1: eight RAMS possessions. But again you can't overcome the turnovers.
- 20:23Speaker 1: And despite all that, if there wasn't probably the best
- 20:27Speaker 1: punt in that situation I've ever seen in my life.
- 20:30Speaker 1: Punt right to the pylon, State dies, stays inbound, somehow
- 20:34Speaker 1: bounces and then stays in bound.
- 20:35Speaker 2: Seahawks have to start that drive at the one.
- 20:37Speaker 1: They tried to make it interesting to go fifty six yards,
- 20:39Speaker 1: setting up a sixty one yard attempt from Jason Myers.
- 20:42Speaker 1: Unfortunately he was not able to hit that one. Seahawks lose,
- 20:45Speaker 1: and it was unfortunate for Myers because he was four
- 20:47Speaker 1: or four on the day leading up to it. So
- 20:50Speaker 1: these teams, I mean, I left that game, I know
- 20:52Speaker 1: most people did, feeling confident. You're frustrated, but you're like, listen,
- 20:56Speaker 1: we did not have our fastball today and we should
- 20:58Speaker 1: have won.
- 20:58Speaker 2: Just by all that.
- 21:00Speaker 1: You only lose by two against that, so we knew
- 21:02Speaker 1: we were getting popcorn ready for this matchup, and we've
- 21:04Speaker 1: been circled it, we've been waiting for it.
- 21:06Speaker 2: It is here. It is time.
- 21:08Speaker 1: But before we finish that matchup, with man's check on
- 21:11Speaker 1: what's going on inside the division?
- 21:12Speaker 2: What's the word?
- 21:17Speaker 4: And the Seahawks or the NFC West champs?
- 21:20Speaker 2: Again, what's the word in the West? On Hawk talk?
- 21:24Speaker 3: You know this is the best division in football. You
- 21:26Speaker 3: got the Rams at eleventh three, the Seahawks at eleventh three.
- 21:29Speaker 3: San Francisco with all their injuries are at ten and four,
- 21:31Speaker 3: and then the Cardinals, you know, they just want to
- 21:33Speaker 3: get the season over with.
- 21:34Speaker 2: They are three and eleven.
- 21:36Speaker 3: The Rams Sahawks matchup might be the game of the
- 21:39Speaker 3: season and the whole entire NFL. Rams are playing goodball,
- 21:42Speaker 3: the Hawks are playing goodball. The winner of this game
- 21:44Speaker 3: will not only be in the driver's seat for the
- 21:46Speaker 3: NFAC West, but also for that number one seed, the Niners.
- 21:50Speaker 3: They have to travel to any to take on Philip
- 21:52Speaker 3: Rivers and the Colts on Monday, so we'll see what
- 21:53Speaker 3: happens there.
- 21:54Speaker 2: Can't count them out. But this is this is the
- 21:56Speaker 2: game of the week game of the year. Yeah, I mean,
- 21:59Speaker 2: there's not a lot else to say.
- 22:00Speaker 1: I mean, especially two teams that know each other pretty well,
- 22:02Speaker 1: that are fighting for that top spot, and that's what
- 22:04Speaker 1: you sign up for, man.
- 22:06Speaker 2: And obviously I wish for the players.
- 22:08Speaker 1: I wish this game was on Sunday to get a
- 22:10Speaker 1: full week for both teams, But for selfishly, for us
- 22:12Speaker 1: and fans could be more excited because I wanted this
- 22:15Speaker 1: game to get here as quickly as he could. Only
- 22:16Speaker 1: other game in the division Cardinals. They went to the Texans,
- 22:19Speaker 1: they got Molly Wapps, they lost forty twenty. I'm not
- 22:22Speaker 1: gonna go too much into that because it's unfortunately it's
- 22:24Speaker 1: irrelevant right now. But Trey mcrian mentioned him earlier. He's
- 22:27Speaker 1: gone twelve receptions, one thirty four to two Teddies. Someone's
- 22:30Speaker 1: gonna have to pay him anyway. We'll put it back
- 22:33Speaker 1: to these rams. But we've been talking about so far.
- 22:35Speaker 1: Man up, Hey, who you got, Who you got? You
- 22:38Speaker 1: know what time it is?
- 22:39Speaker 2: Man up, Man up, brother, man up, man up on
- 22:42Speaker 2: Hawk Talk.
- 22:43Speaker 1: But this guy, Matthew Stafford, you said it from the
- 22:46Speaker 1: beginning of the season. Yeah, man, he has firmly been
- 22:50Speaker 1: in this MVP racist whole year and honestly probably the front.
- 22:53Speaker 3: Runner, right And I run by saying that, and Drake
- 22:55Speaker 3: many I give it to Matthew though.
- 22:57Speaker 1: Uh And I mean, look at the season he's having
- 22:59Speaker 1: there so so far. He's only been in LA since
- 23:02Speaker 1: twenty twenty one. Since he's been there, he's got eighteen
- 23:04Speaker 1: thousand yards. He's now fourth all time in Rams franchise history.
- 23:08Speaker 1: He was sixty three percent three sixty eight yards, two touchdowns,
- 23:11Speaker 1: win interception this last week. It's a seventeenth season, but
- 23:15Speaker 1: he might be playing the best football of his career. Bump,
- 23:17Speaker 1: as you've talked about all year, also hit a couple
- 23:20Speaker 1: of these. Stafford has the most touchdown passes he's had
- 23:22Speaker 1: since that Super Bowl season. Leads the league thirty seven
- 23:24Speaker 1: touchdown passes. He has the longest completion this year at
- 23:27Speaker 1: eighty eight yards, second in yards per game to sixty
- 23:30Speaker 1: five first and passer rating one twelve, second in passing
- 23:33Speaker 1: yards three thy seven hundred and twenty two, said an
- 23:35Speaker 1: NFL record earlier this year with three games at least
- 23:37Speaker 1: four touchdown passes, no interceptions, ninth member of the Foign
- 23:40Speaker 1: touchdown Club. I mean, Sam, Matthew Stafford has been absolutely balling.
- 23:44Speaker 1: The only time he didn't was this year against the
- 23:47Speaker 1: Seahawks earlier this year.
- 23:48Speaker 2: Yep. Now he deserves all the love that he's getting.
- 23:50Speaker 3: But you know what, this defense, let's run this back
- 23:52Speaker 3: and if you can force some turnovers and then have
- 23:54Speaker 3: them have a tough day like last time we played.
- 23:56Speaker 3: I a little bit better about this one coming up.
- 23:58Speaker 3: I let's talk about our quarterback Sam Donald. Sam Donald
- 24:01Speaker 3: had another solid game against the Colts. It was twenty
- 24:04Speaker 3: two or thirty six, two seventy one, zero touchdowns, zero interceptions.
- 24:07Speaker 3: He took care of the ball. That's what I want
- 24:09Speaker 3: to see. His eighth game winning drive in the fourth
- 24:12Speaker 3: or overtime. That's second since twenty twenty four. Again, he's
- 24:16Speaker 3: won the league best BEN six in passing number one,
- 24:18Speaker 3: and yards per ten number one, and yards per completion
- 24:20Speaker 3: number five and pass awating number nine and QBR number
- 24:22Speaker 3: eight in NFL completetion percentage with sixty seven point four.
- 24:26Speaker 3: The last game was his worst game against the Rams
- 24:30Speaker 3: uh twenty nine to forty four, two seventy nine, zero
- 24:32Speaker 3: touchdowns and four interceptions. But you know what, that's the
- 24:34Speaker 3: pass man. It is when we focus on the pass.
- 24:36Speaker 3: We focus on the right now and right now. Sam's
- 24:39Speaker 3: coming off a game where he took care of the football,
- 24:41Speaker 3: he was responsible.
- 24:42Speaker 1: He played well, he played ray game its Atlanta. I
- 24:44Speaker 1: love where his heads at and what he's doing right now,
- 24:46Speaker 1: so I feel good about that. And he also has
- 24:48Speaker 1: been protecting him very well. Donald's only been sacked eighteen
- 24:50Speaker 1: times this year, that second in the NFL. So again
- 24:53Speaker 1: another matchs look there looking at the running game for
- 24:56Speaker 1: the Rams, Kyen Williams. He's been really good since he's
- 24:58Speaker 1: been there and taking over back to one thousand yard
- 25:00Speaker 1: seasons eighth this year in rushing two hundred eleven carries,
- 25:04Speaker 1: one thousand and thirty yards, ten touchdowns. Also got twenty
- 25:08Speaker 1: seven receptions two hundred and seven yards and three touchdowns.
- 25:11Speaker 1: First game against the Attle, twelve carries, ninety one yards,
- 25:13Speaker 1: one touchdown. Most of that damage came in the first half,
- 25:15Speaker 1: and we're talking about two plays. You can't erase those
- 25:18Speaker 1: two plays. But other than that, he was probably held
- 25:20Speaker 1: to like two point whatever yards per carry. But he's explosive.
- 25:23Speaker 1: He can hurt you there. Blake Korm another Michigan product
- 25:26Speaker 1: that's been doing good things for them, been a solid
- 25:29Speaker 1: number two. He's got six hundred and twenty one yards
- 25:31Speaker 1: this year, five touchdowns. He's been really good as of late.
- 25:33Speaker 1: That first match against Seahawks and he much hit eight
- 25:35Speaker 1: carries for ten yards. We know what the Seahawks do.
- 25:37Speaker 1: They are really good stopping the run, threaking third in
- 25:40Speaker 1: the NFL. So we'll see what happens. And they got
- 25:42Speaker 1: twenty three straight games of not allow one hundred yard rusher.
- 25:44Speaker 1: I hope that gets twenty four.
- 25:45Speaker 2: Let's go.
- 25:46Speaker 3: Yeah, good combo there with with Blake Corem and Cavan Williams.
- 25:49Speaker 3: All right, pooking the cool DeVante Adams against this secondary
- 25:53Speaker 3: and you know, we'll see if Deavante plays. He pulled
- 25:55Speaker 3: up a little bit at the end of that game,
- 25:56Speaker 3: not just a little last week in a short week
- 25:59Speaker 3: now and him me and nothing nice man pookin the
- 26:02Speaker 3: Coup has just been going nuts. He what was zad
- 26:06Speaker 3: you dub went to BYU snuck on the scene at
- 26:08Speaker 3: the Rams. He's the reason why the Rams are like,
- 26:10Speaker 3: all right, well, we don't need Cooper Cup over here.
- 26:12Speaker 3: Appreciate your services, Cooper Cup and joining us over here.
- 26:15Speaker 3: But no, he's good man. In twenty twenty four. You
- 26:17Speaker 3: only played in eleven games after suffering a PCL sprame.
- 26:20Speaker 3: But in those eleven games he almost had a thousand yards.
- 26:22Speaker 3: That's how explosive this dude is. Man seventy nine receptions
- 26:25Speaker 3: for nine hundred and ninety yards. What can you say
- 26:29Speaker 3: about DeVante Adams when he is healthy? When he is healthy,
- 26:33Speaker 3: he is one of the of that the best red
- 26:35Speaker 3: zone target we've seen in the last five to ten years.
- 26:37Speaker 3: His release game is crazy. We know his hands are graded.
- 26:40Speaker 3: A twelve year veteran, he's still out there doing this thing.
- 26:43Speaker 3: Three time First team All Pro guy has over twelve
- 26:45Speaker 3: thousand yards over one hundred touchdowns. He's fourth in the
- 26:48Speaker 3: NFL and career receiving yards amongst active players. He's number
- 26:51Speaker 3: one in the NFL and career receiving touchdowns among active players.
- 26:55Speaker 3: He's just a receivers receiver. You know they got a
- 26:57Speaker 3: nice one to two combo over there in LA.
- 26:59Speaker 1: Yeah, both of them. So at Pooka. He has three
- 27:01Speaker 1: games this year with over one hundred and six yards.
- 27:03Speaker 1: Two of them are the last two weeks, so he's
- 27:05Speaker 1: balling out. Mentioned DeVante, he leads the NFL touchdown receptions.
- 27:09Speaker 1: He got fifteen this year, but he hurt the hamstring.
- 27:11Speaker 1: It's not looking great. Coach McVeigh said it didn't look
- 27:14Speaker 1: good after the game. So we're gonna follow that all week.
- 27:16Speaker 1: Definitely a tight turn with a Thursday game. I would
- 27:18Speaker 1: be floored if he played on Thursday night, but you
- 27:21Speaker 1: never know. That's why he never say never. But there's
- 27:23Speaker 1: that in goodness between the two. Yeah, you're right. And
- 27:26Speaker 1: last game against Seattle, what did DeVante add one reception,
- 27:29Speaker 1: one yard, one touchdown, which is in my book. I'll
- 27:32Speaker 1: take that all day long if you're a Seahawk secondary.
- 27:35Speaker 1: And I can't even blame Reek for that play. No,
- 27:38Speaker 1: because the play before try to set him up outside movies,
- 27:41Speaker 1: I'm not gonna beat there and then just set him
- 27:42Speaker 1: up for it. He man pressed, man covered. Whatever you
- 27:47Speaker 1: want against DeVante Adams in the going in the red zone,
- 27:49Speaker 1: good possible luck Yeah, good luck. So I we'll see
- 27:52Speaker 1: what happens there. If he's not playing, it'll be about
- 27:55Speaker 1: sobbing pookin a cool and rest of that passing attack.
- 27:57Speaker 3: Yept. Just talk about the receivers over here. We got JSN,
- 28:00Speaker 3: Cooper Cup and Rashid Shite. Jayson continues to do a
- 28:03Speaker 3: thing like we said, seven receptions a sneaky one thirteen.
- 28:08Speaker 3: He passed Justin Jefferson for the most ninety yard games
- 28:10Speaker 3: in a single season by a player twenty three years
- 28:13Speaker 3: old or younger in the NFL with twelve. He now
- 28:15Speaker 3: has nine to one hundred yard games this season. That's
- 28:18Speaker 3: the most enfranchised history leads the NFL, and yards leads
- 28:21Speaker 3: the NFL, and yards per game leads the NFL, and
- 28:24Speaker 3: yards per touch He's fifth when it comes to per
- 28:27Speaker 3: yards per reception. Last time we hooked up with the Rams,
- 28:31Speaker 3: he had nine receptions for one oh five. So far
- 28:33Speaker 3: this season he has ninety six receptions, fifteen hundred yards
- 28:36Speaker 3: and nine touchdowns.
- 28:38Speaker 2: It's okay, all right, man, No.
- 28:40Speaker 1: And honestly, he could have had more if Sam had
- 28:43Speaker 1: a little bit more time than's a couple of routes
- 28:44Speaker 1: where he was open. So it'll be interesting to see
- 28:46Speaker 1: that Cooper Cup. He's been having a great year, as
- 28:48Speaker 1: we know. Forty one receptions, five or nineteen yards, two touchdowns.
- 28:50Speaker 1: Not the incredibly flashy numbers. Obviously Jayson is getting most
- 28:56Speaker 1: of those, but he's still doing enough. He looks great
- 28:58Speaker 1: when he catches the ball. I think we've talking about this.
- 29:00Speaker 1: No one tackles him. The first guy never tackles I
- 29:03Speaker 1: know at age thirty two, he's still doing it like
- 29:05Speaker 1: that as wow, and he'll block and I want to
- 29:07Speaker 1: see him have a nice game though against the Rams again,
- 29:10Speaker 1: be like Noah, Man, you did mess it out on something.
- 29:12Speaker 1: I would love to see him go off and then Rashiji.
- 29:14Speaker 1: He coming off his best receiving game of the Seahawk.
- 29:16Speaker 1: Five receptions seventy four yards. Last time in LA he
- 29:18Speaker 1: was just there, two receptions twenty seven yards. I mentioned,
- 29:21Speaker 1: almost had a touchdown in back of the end zone.
- 29:23Speaker 1: As him and Sam's timing continues to get better, I'm
- 29:25Speaker 1: really looking forward to what he can do, especially with
- 29:27Speaker 1: his speed, and what those three can do together gives
- 29:30Speaker 1: him general time. Figure out the simulated pressures. We'll have
- 29:33Speaker 1: a good game plan.
- 29:34Speaker 2: Yes, got it. Please figure out the simulator pressures. We
- 29:37Speaker 2: need that.
- 29:38Speaker 3: Cooper Cup is just a blue collar, lunch pale, you
- 29:42Speaker 3: know type of guy, and he's like he's one of
- 29:44Speaker 3: ours us.
- 29:45Speaker 2: He's a he's a Washington born and.
- 29:47Speaker 3: Raised all right, Jared Verse, Byron Young, these two are
- 29:51Speaker 3: a problem.
- 29:52Speaker 2: These guys are playmakers up there.
- 29:54Speaker 3: Man, number one pick out of Florida State, our first
- 29:57Speaker 3: round pick, A shou say Jared verse Man the scene.
- 30:00Speaker 3: Last season had a really good rookie campaign. He was
- 30:02Speaker 3: a Pro Bowl defensive Rookie of the Year. I'm a
- 30:05Speaker 3: twenty twenty four sixty six tackles, four and a half sacks,
- 30:07Speaker 3: eleven TfL's, eighteen quarterback hits, two passes defended in two
- 30:11Speaker 3: forced fumbles.
- 30:12Speaker 2: This season, he's only continued ball. That's what he does
- 30:14Speaker 2: so far this year.
- 30:15Speaker 3: Forty five tackles, six sacks, nine TFLs, twenty two quarterback hits,
- 30:19Speaker 3: and three force fumbles.
- 30:21Speaker 2: He has a problem.
- 30:22Speaker 3: Last time we saw him three tackles, one pass defended,
- 30:25Speaker 3: one quarterback hit.
- 30:26Speaker 1: Yeah, they have a great front. Is another week facing
- 30:28Speaker 1: another good front. He will ruin the game if you
- 30:30Speaker 1: let him. And then Byron Young He's a dude lesser
- 30:33Speaker 1: known int la.
- 30:34Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 30:34Speaker 1: I mean, maybe you're not paying attention if you don't
- 30:37Speaker 1: know his name, but if you don't, should pay attention.
- 30:39Speaker 1: Sixty eight tackles, eleven sacks, ten TFLs, twenty four QB hits,
- 30:44Speaker 1: one force fumble. His eleven sacks was typh for seventh
- 30:46Speaker 1: in the NFL. I know the Seahawks offensive line knows
- 30:49Speaker 1: who the man is for and there's plenty other ones.
- 30:52Speaker 1: I'm just I just called out two in that front seven.
- 30:54Speaker 1: They can bring pressure. We saw it, we knew it
- 30:56Speaker 1: happened that first game. So the Seahawks definitely up for
- 30:58Speaker 1: text Siam Darnold Young had six tackles in just one
- 31:00Speaker 1: QB hit, so he wasn't a game wrecker in that
- 31:03Speaker 1: first game. So if you keep both those two those honestly,
- 31:06Speaker 1: I'll take those stat lines against the players of that caliber.
- 31:08Speaker 1: So really looking forward to what this Seahawks upfront can do.
- 31:11Speaker 1: Only a lot of eighteen sacks this year, so it's
- 31:14Speaker 1: gonna be a fun matchup. Get your popcorn ready. We're
- 31:16Speaker 1: gonna tell you how to get it done. On Thursday.
- 31:18Speaker 2: Path to victory.
- 31:21Speaker 4: After forty five waits for the staff, Michael Dixon puts
- 31:24Speaker 4: it down.
- 31:25Speaker 2: That kick is away. If that kick is gone, the
- 31:28Speaker 2: sayof whin it's gone, it's a path to victory.
- 31:32Speaker 1: On Hawk Talk we talked about it. It is the
- 31:35Speaker 1: game of the year. This game has been circled in
- 31:36Speaker 1: everyone's calendar since that week eleven loss. Seahawks have run
- 31:40Speaker 1: the table since that game, winning the last four games,
- 31:42Speaker 1: and we know in this building, the players, the coaching staff,
- 31:45Speaker 1: they don't treat it like that. Every game has been
- 31:47Speaker 1: the biggest game of the year. And that's not just
- 31:50Speaker 1: lip service, that's not just coach peak. That's how they've
- 31:52Speaker 1: treated it. But guess what that week, that game is
- 31:55Speaker 1: next week, So it is the biggest game of the year,
- 31:56Speaker 1: and their minds just like we see it. For us,
- 31:58Speaker 1: we know there's major playoff implication. We're not gonna run
- 32:00Speaker 1: from that. That's reality. But this Seahawks team, I think,
- 32:03Speaker 1: is ready to go bump and for them to get
- 32:04Speaker 1: this win, it is going to start up front. Can't
- 32:07Speaker 1: take that enough and take care of that football. Four
- 32:09Speaker 1: turnovers and shortfield really cost him in.
- 32:11Speaker 2: That first game. Yeah, man, you can.
- 32:13Speaker 3: You can't give a free money, no free money to
- 32:15Speaker 3: the rams man because they will take advantage of it.
- 32:17Speaker 3: You got to figure out a way to pick up
- 32:19Speaker 3: the simulated pressures. This is and listen, easier said than done,
- 32:23Speaker 3: of course, understand it. They're gonna they're gonna show like
- 32:26Speaker 3: they're bringing five, They're gonna drop this guy, bring that guy.
- 32:29Speaker 2: Are they bringing five or six?
- 32:30Speaker 3: No, it's just four like it's it's hard to do,
- 32:33Speaker 3: and I know that's gonna be a point of emphasis
- 32:34Speaker 3: for these guys, and they gotta start fast.
- 32:36Speaker 4: Man.
- 32:36Speaker 3: The last three games of the Seahawks have they've had
- 32:38Speaker 3: some slow starts. You can't have that against this Rams team, no.
- 32:41Speaker 1: No question about it, because you don't want to be
- 32:43Speaker 1: in a game against where you feel like, oh man,
- 32:45Speaker 1: one mistake can lose it for us. Granted, the way
- 32:48Speaker 1: this defense is playing, you feel a little bit better,
- 32:50Speaker 1: but you definitely cannot start against a team like that
- 32:53Speaker 1: and then defensively get after Matthew Stafford. We know how
- 32:55Speaker 1: good he is against the Blitz, like historically good against
- 32:58Speaker 1: the Blitz. So when you take your get home and
- 33:01Speaker 1: for all all the other times like this front seven
- 33:03Speaker 1: has been doing to this front four, get pressure when
- 33:05Speaker 1: you can there.
- 33:06Speaker 3: I mean, the Seahawks had a performance worse the last
- 33:09Speaker 3: time we saw him, right, So keep doing what you're
- 33:11Speaker 3: doing and then pooking the cooling. He can't have another game,
- 33:14Speaker 3: third game to row with over on one to sixty.
- 33:16Speaker 3: Can can't have it and be physical with him. We
- 33:19Speaker 3: know he's a good runner with the football in his hands.
- 33:21Speaker 3: Rally to the football. You have to talk of that, dude,
- 33:23Speaker 3: and you've earned this opportunity. Baby, Come on now, come
- 33:26Speaker 3: on for the number one seed. It doesn't get any
- 33:29Speaker 3: bigger than this. And this is why they play the games.
- 33:31Speaker 3: This is as the Seahawk fan. That's why you're root.
- 33:32Speaker 3: That's why you get to talk trash to your ram
- 33:34Speaker 3: fans wherever they're at. There's not a ton of them,
- 33:36Speaker 3: but the boons that are out there. I'm from LA,
- 33:38Speaker 3: so yeah, there's a lot of them.
- 33:39Speaker 2: Am I fan?
- 33:40Speaker 1: No?
- 33:40Speaker 2: I know.
- 33:40Speaker 1: And here's the thing, this is get your pop already.
- 33:44Speaker 1: These guys are gonna do it out. I cannot wait
- 33:46Speaker 1: to talk about this game, to watch it, to cover it.
- 33:48Speaker 1: We'll be back afterwards, hopefully talking about a Seahawks victory
- 33:51Speaker 1: and what that means for the rest of the season.
- 33:52Speaker 2: He's Michael Bumpins, some NASA chobe. This has been off
- 33:55Speaker 2: talk
