- 0:58Speaker 2: with us inside the Treehouse. I'm Dan O'Malley along with
- 1:01Speaker 2: Trey Trenholm and Raj Sharma.
- 1:04Speaker 3: Today inside the tree House.
- 1:08Speaker 2: A tiger handler in Oklahoma has been killed and we
- 1:15Speaker 2: took a week off, but it's time to catch up
- 1:18Speaker 2: with Treehouse talkback.
- 1:20Speaker 3: We will do that today as well.
- 1:23Speaker 2: But first inside the Treehouse today, we are going to
- 1:27Speaker 2: start with one of the best clickbait headlines I have
- 1:31Speaker 2: ever seen, courtesy of the Huffington Post. Tossing could be
- 1:38Speaker 2: a potential sign of ADHD Do you do it? And
- 1:44Speaker 2: then the subheading this practice brings instant relief, but there
- 1:49Speaker 2: could be a dark side to it. Uh not to
- 1:55Speaker 2: speak out of turn here. But I do believe the
- 1:57Speaker 2: Huffington Post just raised the bar on headline. Now, there
- 2:03Speaker 2: is a downside to when you have a headline and
- 2:06Speaker 2: a sub headline this good. I know what they're doing,
- 2:13Speaker 2: and I know the actual story is not what we're
- 2:16Speaker 2: all thinking based on what they said. That's why I
- 2:18Speaker 2: said it's one of the greatest clickbait headlines I've ever seen.
- 2:21Speaker 2: But because it's so good, I don't want to read
- 2:23Speaker 2: the actual story to find out what they're actually talking about,
- 2:26Speaker 2: because I know what's going to let me down.
- 2:31Speaker 1: Well as someone with ADHD, I knew the headline itself
- 2:35Speaker 1: was clickbait and false.
- 2:42Speaker 3: Oh I just, I just I really hats off. All right,
- 2:53Speaker 3: let's be let down together.
- 2:55Speaker 2: Let's see how let down we are after that headline
- 2:58Speaker 2: tossing could be a bit potential sign of ADHD.
- 3:01Speaker 3: Do you do it?
- 3:03Speaker 2: Followed up with this practice brings instant relief.
- 3:05Speaker 3: But there could be a dark side to it.
- 3:12Speaker 2: By Britney Wong, Thank you, Brittany or miss walk anyway,
- 3:21Speaker 2: last term sorry last summer A term went viral on
- 3:25Speaker 2: TikTok that spoke to many The doom pile, an acronym
- 3:30Speaker 2: for didn't organize, only moved. A doom pile could be
- 3:34Speaker 2: a junk drawer with receipts, bills, and other papers that
- 3:37Speaker 2: you've put off sorting. It could be a cardboard box
- 3:40Speaker 2: in the corner of your bedroom full of desk clutter
- 3:42Speaker 2: from your old job and other things you forgot you owned.
- 3:45Speaker 2: For many with ADHD or others who stare down doom
- 3:49Speaker 2: piles and feel overwhelmed, it's easy to default to a
- 3:52Speaker 2: less than ideal solution to all that organizational chaos. Tossing, Yes,
- 3:59Speaker 2: just licking holes until you forget it all exists. The
- 4:04Speaker 2: last line I threw when they're you know, to tie
- 4:06Speaker 2: it all together, that's clearly not what miss Wong said.
- 4:08Speaker 2: She said about tossing, just throwing it all away with
- 4:13Speaker 2: fingers crossed. There's nothing too important in there. See this
- 4:20Speaker 2: brings up the very valid point that the story was
- 4:22Speaker 2: way more interested when we all thought it was salad tossing.
- 4:26Speaker 4: Just throw it all away. This this article brought to
- 4:28Speaker 4: you by Identity Theft.
- 4:34Speaker 1: And Dan I see I first read it. I didn't
- 4:38Speaker 1: think it was salad tossing. I thought it was tossing off.
- 4:44Speaker 3: Either way, it pulled you in.
- 4:50Speaker 5: So are they, do you column tossers like, is that
- 4:55Speaker 5: what you would call somewhere that I think somewhere there's
- 4:58Speaker 5: a British person laughing very Oh.
- 5:01Speaker 2: Absolutely, we think it's clickbait material for us in the States.
- 5:07Speaker 2: Just imagine what the Brits are thinking when they see that.
- 5:10Speaker 6: Whoo.
- 5:11Speaker 2: Kate Osborne is an author and ADHD advocate and educator.
- 5:16Speaker 2: She has tossed her doom pile and said she knows
- 5:19Speaker 2: plenty of others in the ADHD community who've done the
- 5:22Speaker 2: same thing. She says, it's not something that I would
- 5:24Speaker 2: brag about or say that I'm particularly proud of. Most
- 5:27Speaker 2: tossers aren't. They don't go around bragging. Is like guess
- 5:32Speaker 2: who's salad I tossed today? Although if they did, they
- 5:37Speaker 2: might be happier, she says. But I do know what
- 5:39Speaker 2: it's like to be so completely overwhelmed that it is
- 5:41Speaker 2: easier to say, you know what, I don't need any
- 5:44Speaker 2: of this and just throw everything away. Eyther way, that's
- 5:49Speaker 2: what I need to do with my email current I
- 5:53Speaker 2: have Currently, I've just let my email just run amok.
- 5:56Speaker 2: I am now up to six and forty seven unread
- 6:00Speaker 2: emails over the past three years because something happened just
- 6:04Speaker 2: about three years ago where I was like, you know what,
- 6:06Speaker 2: I don't really care about check an email anymore for
- 6:08Speaker 2: a while, And that trend has continued for the three
- 6:12Speaker 2: years since I was canned from the Eagle. Maybe I
- 6:16Speaker 2: should check this because I think they need help.
- 6:19Speaker 4: Yeah, I have like tens of thousands of unread emails.
- 6:23Speaker 3: How many years is that.
- 6:26Speaker 5: I stopped about because I get a lot of the
- 6:28Speaker 5: like you know, Choptaw and Caesar's and this and that,
- 6:32Speaker 5: so I just don't even read them. I'm like, well,
- 6:34Speaker 5: I know what that is. Yeah, so it's probably about
- 6:36Speaker 5: two or three years.
- 6:38Speaker 2: It's silly because I used to be so diligent on
- 6:41Speaker 2: getting my number to zero because I judged negatively people
- 6:45Speaker 2: that had thousands of unread emails, like what's wrong with you?
- 6:48Speaker 3: That's so weird.
- 6:50Speaker 2: But now I'm one of those people, and I know
- 6:54Speaker 2: that there's a quick fix to it. It's just the
- 6:57Speaker 2: one click mark all is red. But if I do that,
- 7:02Speaker 2: I'm afraid I'm gonna.
- 7:03Speaker 7: Miss something somewhere two years ago, some random unread email
- 7:08Speaker 7: that I that I didn't see that somehow I was
- 7:10Speaker 7: supposed to see if I click mark all read then
- 7:14Speaker 7: I'll never see it, even though I'm not gonna see
- 7:15Speaker 7: it anyway.
- 7:16Speaker 2: It's completely illogical. But that's that's that's where I am.
- 7:21Speaker 1: That that gives me just such anxiety.
- 7:24Speaker 3: Mm hmm, I get it.
- 7:25Speaker 1: I have to any any notifications on icons I I
- 7:29Speaker 1: I have to clear it.
- 7:33Speaker 3: Train needs everything at zero.
- 7:37Speaker 2: Which ironically looks a lot like a butthole.
- 7:42Speaker 3: Just get in there and clean it out.
- 7:48Speaker 5: Yeah, I just, uh, just one day, I was like,
- 7:50Speaker 5: you know what I don't I'm not reading. I don't
- 7:51Speaker 5: need to read you know, Caesar's this or that, And
- 7:55Speaker 5: and then that just kept going and I'll see somebody,
- 7:57Speaker 5: you know, an email that I recognized when I'm like,
- 7:59Speaker 5: oh I read.
- 8:00Speaker 1: That, then you unsubscribe and stop the emails.
- 8:06Speaker 2: I've been working on that. Yeah, I've been doing that myself.
- 8:09Speaker 2: I've been trying to unsubscribe from things, and somehow I
- 8:12Speaker 2: keep getting subscribed to more things every day.
- 8:15Speaker 4: I'm just gonna tell you how many more emails I.
- 8:17Speaker 2: Have, send them a screenshot every day.
- 8:21Speaker 3: Look what we're up to today.
- 8:23Speaker 1: I have had two former bosses that both had over
- 8:27Speaker 1: one hundred thousand unready emails, and it would just.
- 8:31Speaker 4: I couldn't even look at them.
- 8:34Speaker 1: They hand me their phone and I just, oh god, no,
- 8:38Speaker 1: I'm like, just delete the email, just like just clear
- 8:41Speaker 1: it out and then just start over. Just go to
- 8:45Speaker 1: Google and just delete all.
- 8:47Speaker 2: It might make some people sad, but they need to
- 8:49Speaker 2: know that if you emailed Russ many years ago, I
- 8:52Speaker 2: don't think you're going to get a reply.
- 8:56Speaker 4: If you do, be scared.
- 9:01Speaker 2: If you do share it with USDs.
- 9:08Speaker 4: No, he's back.
- 9:12Speaker 3: It's okay. I know what he's gonna say.
- 9:15Speaker 2: Katie here, who is a ADHD and doom piled expert, says, inevitably,
- 9:20Speaker 2: there are some items that don't have an assigned place
- 9:23Speaker 2: in her house. She'll put that bric a brack in
- 9:25Speaker 2: a box to sort through later in the day. But
- 9:28Speaker 2: then later comes and she's run out of steam and focus.
- 9:32Speaker 2: He says, Okay, I'll just set this pin of stuff
- 9:34Speaker 2: aside and I'll go through it later. And then days
- 9:37Speaker 2: or weeks later, she'll go through the box. Only do
- 9:38Speaker 2: experience choice paralysis also known as analysis paralysis.
- 9:43Speaker 3: I suffer from that.
- 9:44Speaker 2: I have a severe case of analysis paralysis.
- 9:47Speaker 3: And she says, what should I keep?
- 9:49Speaker 2: She'll ask herself, what if I need it, what if
- 9:51Speaker 2: it's useful later on that's when this EIGHTYHD problem transforms
- 9:56Speaker 2: into a hoarding problem. I'm just glad we're only talking
- 10:01Speaker 2: about emails because I absolutely have no problem throwing away stuff.
- 10:06Speaker 4: Oh, like.
- 10:09Speaker 1: This is when I moved in March. This was a
- 10:13Speaker 1: big thing for me because I had boxes of stuff
- 10:18Speaker 1: that I had kept from like various jobs, old places,
- 10:22Speaker 1: just it just crap. And then but I and I
- 10:25Speaker 1: always went to, well maybe I'll use that one day whatever.
- 10:27Speaker 1: So when I moved, it was the first thing I
- 10:30Speaker 1: threw away so much stuff, and it was absolutely a
- 10:35Speaker 1: liberating feeling.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Yeah, we did that when we sold our house in
- 10:40Speaker 2: Carrollton and bought our house in Saint Thomas and then
- 10:44Speaker 2: went and lived in the trailer for ten months while
- 10:46Speaker 2: that all, you know, kind of shook itself out. That
- 10:50Speaker 2: was a great feeling once it was done. In the
- 10:53Speaker 2: moment though, going through and deciding Okay, do I really
- 10:56Speaker 2: need this? Do I want this? I did the whole
- 10:59Speaker 2: Marie con thing The Little Asian Lady from Netflix, where
- 11:04Speaker 2: you asked the question, when you're holding this thing, whatever
- 11:07Speaker 2: it is could be a pot, could be a T shirt,
- 11:09Speaker 2: pair of shoes, whatever.
- 11:11Speaker 3: Does this bring me joy?
- 11:13Speaker 2: And if the answer is not an immediate yes, you
- 11:15Speaker 2: toss it.
- 11:18Speaker 4: Are there shirts that bring you joy?
- 11:21Speaker 3: Yes?
- 11:22Speaker 2: Really well, not like joy joy, but you know like
- 11:26Speaker 2: toss shirts. No, like shirts that I like or shirts
- 11:29Speaker 2: that fit me.
- 11:30Speaker 3: Well, there are shirts.
- 11:31Speaker 4: I'm like eh.
- 11:32Speaker 2: And then I had to get rid of that one,
- 11:34Speaker 2: like basically like shirts and things, I went through the closet.
- 11:37Speaker 2: That part was easy if I hadn't worn it in
- 11:39Speaker 2: the ear that went by bye. Interesting that like one
- 11:46Speaker 2: pair of pants somewhere in the back of the closet.
- 11:48Speaker 2: That's like, you know, if I just lose twenty more pounds,
- 11:50Speaker 2: I'll get back into gone. If I ever lose that
- 11:54Speaker 2: additional twenty pounds, I'll buy.
- 11:55Speaker 3: Some new ones.
- 11:58Speaker 2: And the good news is those won't be nearly is skinny.
- 12:04Speaker 2: That's the other reason why it's important to get rid
- 12:06Speaker 2: of clothes every so often, because you need to realize
- 12:10Speaker 2: something when it comes to clothing, especially if you bought
- 12:12Speaker 2: something that was trendy, like the super skinny jeans from
- 12:15Speaker 2: a handful of years ago. If like, they're not cool anymore,
- 12:18Speaker 2: so you shouldn't be wearing them.
- 12:19Speaker 3: Right, they were cool.
- 12:20Speaker 2: A handful of years ago but not anymore. So you
- 12:23Speaker 2: either need to get rid of them or hang on
- 12:26Speaker 2: to them for twenty years when they come back around
- 12:28Speaker 2: in style again.
- 12:30Speaker 3: There is otherwise, it's just taking up space.
- 12:33Speaker 1: What'd you do with yours?
- 12:36Speaker 8: Oh, they're I didn't have any.
- 12:48Speaker 9: You're in the Treehouse. Visit us online at Treehouseonair dot com.
- 12:57Speaker 3: Eight three three.
- 12:58Speaker 10: Cook DFW is the phone number you need to contact
- 13:01Speaker 10: Daniel Cook and carry cook from COOKDFW Roofing and Restoration
- 13:04Speaker 10: eight three three Cook DFW the website cookdfw dot com.
- 13:08Speaker 10: We talk a lot about the roofing industry because that's
- 13:10Speaker 10: your bread and butter, and you do free roof inspections
- 13:12Speaker 10: for people, but you are also now making people's outdoor
- 13:16Speaker 10: dreams come true.
- 13:17Speaker 3: Absolutely, Dan.
- 13:18Speaker 11: It's a very fun time when you get to go
- 13:20Speaker 11: outside in the backyard and start putting together some ideas
- 13:23Speaker 11: for folks that you know, want to use their backyard
- 13:26Speaker 11: more and they just don't know what to do with it.
- 13:28Speaker 1: They thought they.
- 13:29Speaker 11: You know, it was really cool when they went to
- 13:31Speaker 11: some friend's house and they have, you know, a nice
- 13:33Speaker 11: extended patio and it's got to cover on it and
- 13:36Speaker 11: they're able to go out there and watch TV and
- 13:38Speaker 11: they have a little beer cooler on it, all those things.
- 13:40Speaker 11: And so when we come out and say, yeah, all
- 13:42Speaker 11: that's possible, let's let's make a design. Let's show you
- 13:44Speaker 11: what's visible. We show you some photos of previous projects.
- 13:47Speaker 11: We can measure out what's your you know, expectations of
- 13:50Speaker 11: how much of the backyard you want to utilize for this,
- 13:53Speaker 11: and so that's all important stuff. And then on top
- 13:55Speaker 11: of that, right now, we're going to be running a
- 13:58Speaker 11: promotion that everybody that calls us, how's us come out
- 14:01Speaker 11: do an estimate, show them what they could be having.
- 14:03Speaker 11: They're going to get into a promotion, and at the
- 14:05Speaker 11: end of the promotion, we're gonna be giving away a
- 14:07Speaker 11: big green egg, so.
- 14:09Speaker 1: Someone's gonna get very lucky.
- 14:11Speaker 11: These are phenomen pieces of barbecue equipment, steamers, all kinds
- 14:15Speaker 11: of different things you can do with it. So at
- 14:17Speaker 11: the end of the promotion, somebody's gonna get one of those.
- 14:19Speaker 3: That's very cool.
- 14:19Speaker 10: And if you win that big green egg, Daniel and
- 14:22Speaker 10: his team would be happy to build you a patio, outdoor,
- 14:25Speaker 10: kitchen entertainment space to go around it. Eight three three
- 14:28Speaker 10: cook DFW get that estimate right now eight three three
- 14:31Speaker 10: cook DFW or the website cookdfw dot com.

- 15:27Speaker 2: cookdfw dot com.
- 15:29Speaker 12: It is.
- 15:31Speaker 2: Talkback day inside the Tree so we'll get to that,
- 15:35Speaker 2: but first we have to talk about a tiger mauling
- 15:40Speaker 2: in Oklahoma, more specifically the one at Growler Pines Tiger
- 15:49Speaker 2: Preserve in Hugo, Oklahoma. A tiger handler was fatally mulled
- 15:55Speaker 2: at an Oklahoma preserve. Tiger handler Ryan Easley was fatally
- 16:00Speaker 2: mauled in an accident involving a tiger. I'm going to
- 16:03Speaker 2: stop right there. A tiger mulling someone is not an accident.
- 16:12Speaker 2: That's what a tiger does.
- 16:15Speaker 1: Now.
- 16:15Speaker 2: If he was feeding the tiger and a plane fell
- 16:19Speaker 2: out of the sky and landed on him, that would
- 16:24Speaker 2: be an accident. If a meteor hit him, that might
- 16:28Speaker 2: be right.
- 16:29Speaker 3: Maybe not so much an accident, that's just really bad luck.
- 16:33Speaker 2: If a school bus drove off somehow the brakes went
- 16:37Speaker 2: out and it ran him over inside the tiger preserve,
- 16:40Speaker 2: that could be justified as an accident. A tiger eating
- 16:45Speaker 2: a person is not an accident.
- 16:47Speaker 3: That's quite intentional.
- 16:50Speaker 4: Him's hungry.
- 16:51Speaker 2: Yeah, sorry to be so blunket about this, but it's
- 16:56Speaker 2: just how I feel, and I'm pretty sure it's just biology.
- 17:00Speaker 1: If you're playing I got your nose with a tiger,
- 17:02Speaker 1: they're going to win.
- 17:05Speaker 4: I got your hand.
- 17:09Speaker 3: And that is not an accident anyway.
- 17:16Speaker 2: Tiger handler Ryan Easley was fatally mauled in an intentional
- 17:20Speaker 2: incident involving a tiger that he cared for at an
- 17:23Speaker 2: Oklahoma Preserve. That's according to the wild the Wildlife Refuge.
- 17:28Speaker 2: The attack occurred Saturday at Growler Pines Tiger Preserve in Hugo, Oklahoma.
- 17:33Speaker 2: The statement says, this tragedy is a painful reminder.
- 17:37Speaker 3: Wow, for him or for you? I think more so
- 17:43Speaker 3: for him.
- 17:43Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, this tragedy is a painful reminder of both
- 17:49Speaker 2: the beauty and unpredictability of the natural world. Ryan understood
- 17:53Speaker 2: those risks not out of recklessness, but out of love.
- 17:57Speaker 2: The animals under his care were not just animals to him,
- 18:01Speaker 2: but beings. He formed a connection with one rooted in respect,
- 18:05Speaker 2: daily care, and love. This is a great example of
- 18:08Speaker 2: why relationships need to be a two way street, because
- 18:11Speaker 2: in his mind he loved that animal, he cared for it.
- 18:15Speaker 2: In the tiger's mind, he looked like a steak.
- 18:18Speaker 3: Mm hmm.
- 18:20Speaker 4: I was gonna say, it's like the old cartoon thing
- 18:21Speaker 4: where it turns into a hot.
- 18:22Speaker 2: Dog fresh fresh off the roller. Yeah, hot dog in
- 18:29Speaker 2: a while. In reality, it's like you're in there, You're
- 18:33Speaker 2: trying to care for this animal, and in the animal's eyes,
- 18:36Speaker 2: it just walked into a quick trip at fresh hot
- 18:39Speaker 2: dog or clock.
- 18:43Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 18:44Speaker 5: Uh no, this is uh is was he trained to
- 18:49Speaker 5: take care of this animal?
- 18:51Speaker 4: Did he have any wildlife expertise?
- 18:53Speaker 3: Well, he worked there for a long time.
- 18:55Speaker 2: I don't know what type of certification process the state
- 18:58Speaker 2: of Oklahoma has and care for, you know, murder kiddies.
- 19:03Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't think they have any. I don't know
- 19:05Speaker 5: if you saw tiger, that's.
- 19:07Speaker 3: Kind of where I'm going.
- 19:09Speaker 2: I don't think you have to have a certain amount
- 19:11Speaker 2: of training. I just think you have to be willing.
- 19:14Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 19:15Speaker 13: Uh.
- 19:16Speaker 5: You know any job where they make you sign a
- 19:17Speaker 5: waiver before you before you go in, I'm not doing Yeah,
- 19:23Speaker 5: we don't. We don't accept any responsibility and all the
- 19:26Speaker 5: liabilities on you.
- 19:29Speaker 4: No, I'll pass.
- 19:31Speaker 3: Yeah uh.
- 19:33Speaker 2: The Preserve remembered him as a passionate advocate for wildlife
- 19:37Speaker 2: conservation who especially loved big cats and dedicated his life
- 19:41Speaker 2: to the care of animals. And well, you know what,
- 19:44Speaker 2: maybe it's unfair for us to say that cats didn't
- 19:46Speaker 2: love him back. Maybe they just had a different way
- 19:48Speaker 2: of showing it.
- 19:49Speaker 4: Yeah, big hug mm hmmm.
- 19:54Speaker 9: Uh.
- 19:55Speaker 2: The statement also said from the Preserve, his courage, compassion,
- 19:58Speaker 2: and unwavering commitment to old life will never be forgotten.
- 20:02Speaker 2: Do you think it was in wavering all the way
- 20:04Speaker 2: to the bitter end? Or did he have some regrets
- 20:06Speaker 2: those last moments.
- 20:09Speaker 5: I think when he saw the cat, like the Paul
- 20:11Speaker 5: go back and he's like, ah, I.
- 20:19Speaker 4: Don't got your nose. I don't got your nose.
- 20:23Speaker 1: I think he was saying, no regrets.
- 20:31Speaker 4: You sure about that? Yeah?
- 20:37Speaker 3: Uh.
- 20:37Speaker 2: The center has canceled all tours and animal encounters until
- 20:41Speaker 2: further notice.
- 20:43Speaker 5: I wonder if there was a tour there, Like there
- 20:45Speaker 5: was just a bunch of school kids on a field trip,
- 20:47Speaker 5: just staying and it's like, oh, and this is so
- 20:48Speaker 5: and so the cat, and that is the trainer. I
- 20:50Speaker 5: don't remember the guy's name now, but that's the trainer, right.
- 20:54Speaker 5: It was Ryan, Right, this is a This is a trainer, Ryan, Say, hi,
- 20:57Speaker 5: trainer Ryan, like all the kids like hine.
- 21:04Speaker 2: All right, today kids, we're getting an important Yeah. Today, kids,
- 21:07Speaker 2: we're getting an important lesson in the circle of life.
- 21:14Speaker 4: The human body has eight pints of blood.
- 21:19Speaker 2: Let's count them as as they are ejected from his
- 21:23Speaker 2: is terrible.
- 21:23Speaker 3: I feel bad for the I feel bad for the
- 21:25Speaker 3: guy's family.
- 21:26Speaker 1: Is just you know, but I just wonder if they'll
- 21:27Speaker 1: put like a little cross or something where that the
- 21:29Speaker 1: tiger digs a hole and craps them.
- 21:30Speaker 4: Out plant a tree there. It's well fertilized.
- 21:40Speaker 3: That is so terrible.
- 21:42Speaker 2: Just like just like a little memorial inside the cage,
- 21:44Speaker 2: like here was Ryan.
- 21:50Speaker 4: Some of Ryan's under your shoe.
- 21:53Speaker 3: Damn it, Man, it's wet.
- 21:57Speaker 5: God, damn it Ryan. Anytime I get shipped on my shoe,
- 22:06Speaker 5: I'm and to say that damn.
- 22:08Speaker 2: It ryot Oh No, that that is now forever imprinted
- 22:12Speaker 2: on me. Anytime if I step on a turn somewhere,
- 22:14Speaker 2: I'm gonna gonna say damn it.
- 22:16Speaker 14: Right, Yeah, I had I had a damn it Ryan
- 22:27Speaker 14: moment the other day.

- 25:07Speaker 3: So here we go tree House Talk Back.
- 25:13Speaker 15: Hey guys, longtime listener. Been enjoying RMS since the Kynng
- 25:18Speaker 15: days and I'm glad you guys are keeping it going.
- 25:22Speaker 15: I appreciate it. Thanks for me making my days, my mornings,
- 25:25Speaker 15: my evenings anytime I'm in the car, Brider, I appreciate you, guys.
- 25:32Speaker 15: And to Trey Key's mine moist to Cunt.
- 25:44Speaker 3: I don't know German.
- 25:47Speaker 2: I think that could be German, and if it is,
- 25:50Speaker 2: I think that's pretty easy to translate. But I don't know,
- 25:54Speaker 2: Trey Raj, either of you speak German or whatever that
- 25:57Speaker 2: language was.
- 25:58Speaker 3: M I know, but I know what.
- 26:00Speaker 1: It said, and I'm honestly not sure whether to be
- 26:09Speaker 1: proud or offended.
- 26:10Speaker 3: You know what. I think it's okay to be both.
- 26:12Speaker 1: Okay.
- 26:15Speaker 2: I mean he said it with such pep and enthusiasm.
- 26:18Speaker 2: I don't think he meant it as a slam, or
- 26:20Speaker 2: at least not necessarily in a you know, horrifically negative weight.
- 26:24Speaker 2: Just more of a lighthearted negative weight perhaps.
- 26:27Speaker 1: No, if he really meant it in a bad way,
- 26:29Speaker 1: he needs to work on his delivery of the C word. Yeah,
- 26:33Speaker 1: I'll offer tutorials.
- 26:37Speaker 4: Yeah he was, he was, there was there was happiness
- 26:40Speaker 4: in his voice. Yeah, I don't think it was meant
- 26:41Speaker 4: to be.
- 26:43Speaker 2: But still, congratulations Trey. And now you know what, And
- 26:46Speaker 2: now you know what that word is in German. Not
- 26:48Speaker 2: that I'm surprised it's any different.
- 26:51Speaker 4: I think they invented it.
- 26:54Speaker 3: It does sound like a German word.
- 26:56Speaker 4: Yeah, hey, guys.
- 27:00Speaker 6: Last week a listener mentioned playing football in a pasture.
- 27:04Speaker 6: You guys talked about it for a bit. I can
- 27:06Speaker 6: do that one better. Back when we were kids, me
- 27:09Speaker 6: and my brother, my cousins. We used to play baseball
- 27:12Speaker 6: in my grandparents pasture down in Brenham, and we used
- 27:15Speaker 6: to use cow patties, dried up cow patties as basses.
- 27:19Speaker 6: And I did not hear the bloody mentioned cow patties.
- 27:21Speaker 3: So there you go.
- 27:23Speaker 6: Also, Raj, you mentioned Greece too.
- 27:26Speaker 2: Okay, before he gets into that. The thing I'm curious
- 27:30Speaker 2: about with cow patty baseball is do you look around
- 27:36Speaker 2: the pasture for four cow patties in a diamond enough
- 27:40Speaker 2: to just use the pre existing cow patties or do
- 27:43Speaker 2: you need to pick up the cow patties and position
- 27:46Speaker 2: them in a diamond configuration so you can then use
- 27:49Speaker 2: them for baseball?
- 27:50Speaker 1: Now you pick them up because once they hit, once
- 27:53Speaker 1: they've dried out, they they're very frisbeeish.
- 27:58Speaker 3: Oh no, I know, I'm just I just don't like
- 28:02Speaker 3: picking them up how they are.
- 28:06Speaker 2: And no, I know what it is.
- 28:08Speaker 6: Damn it, Ryan, I want to go on record.
- 28:13Speaker 2: So now let's get into the controversial part of Ryan's call.
- 28:17Speaker 6: Also, Raj, you mentioned Greece too. I want to go
- 28:20Speaker 6: on record and uh to the masses that Grease Too
- 28:24Speaker 6: is a far better movie than Greece. I will fight
- 28:26Speaker 6: the Michelle.
- 28:34Speaker 3: Okay, that is not a hill.
- 28:35Speaker 2: I expected you to die on Trey.
- 28:38Speaker 1: Sorry, that one was directed towards you.
- 28:40Speaker 4: I know.
- 28:41Speaker 5: All I'm saying is here's how my head works, right,
- 28:44Speaker 5: I'm just thinking, like when he when he ends that call,
- 28:46Speaker 5: he just leans back in his chair, and there's just
- 28:48Speaker 5: posters of Adrian's MED everywhere.
- 28:55Speaker 2: And let's be honest, he wouldn't be the only one.
- 28:58Speaker 4: There's Adrians med tied to it there somewhere. I told
- 29:03Speaker 4: you you.
- 29:04Speaker 3: Look, both things can be true.
- 29:06Speaker 2: You can have a room full of posters of Adrian's
- 29:10Speaker 2: MED and a shrine dedicated to Adrians Med, and have
- 29:15Speaker 2: Adrians Med tied up in the same room. I think
- 29:18Speaker 2: that's really fitting.
- 29:20Speaker 4: In his Burger king uniform.
- 29:21Speaker 2: Like now that is a flame girl, that is a
- 29:29Speaker 2: that is a flame girled employee.
- 29:33Speaker 1: Or he's he's some kind of I got an odd
- 29:35Speaker 1: obsession with the guy who played Shooter McGavin. I think
- 29:39Speaker 1: his name is Christopher McDonald.
- 29:42Speaker 2: Yep, I believe that's that's right, or very close.
- 29:44Speaker 1: Yeah, he was. He was in the movie too.
- 29:46Speaker 3: So well.
- 29:47Speaker 2: I think I think he's claiming here that he has
- 29:50Speaker 2: a different love in the.
- 29:54Speaker 6: Better movie than Greece. I will fight that hill. I mean,
- 29:57Speaker 6: you have Michelle Feiffer dancing around in those black pants,
- 30:00Speaker 6: grinding on that ladder, singing cool rider in Greece does
- 30:04Speaker 6: not have that. So I also think that Major League three,
- 30:07Speaker 6: Back to the Minors is better. Is the best one
- 30:09Speaker 6: of the bunch?
- 30:10Speaker 1: Most people, mother fuck, you gotta be kidding me, Dan,
- 30:14Speaker 1: congratulations you you're relieved of your you know, title as
- 30:20Speaker 1: music in movie history.
- 30:23Speaker 2: Oh my god, that is really really really awful though,
- 30:27Speaker 2: And you know what, you know what the worst thing
- 30:28Speaker 2: is about his opinion is it has me second guessing
- 30:31Speaker 2: because I've seen Major League three, of course, and now
- 30:34Speaker 2: I'm wondering, way is it possibly better than the other two?
- 30:38Speaker 3: Maybe I need to rewatch it?
- 30:40Speaker 1: But there's no way, there's no way, right, I want
- 30:43Speaker 1: to know this assholes? You know what? He gets a
- 30:45Speaker 1: caddy shot too.
- 30:47Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, that is Ah, that's a great example.
- 30:55Speaker 6: Better is the best one of the bunch. Most people
- 30:57Speaker 6: don't even know that there is a Major League three.
- 31:00Speaker 2: Starring Scott Bacula, by the way, Oh between between rolls
- 31:07Speaker 2: in Quantum Leap and so after Quantum Leap and before
- 31:13Speaker 2: ncis Scott Bacula.
- 31:16Speaker 5: Yeah, that's a thirty year gap, by the way, Yeah
- 31:19Speaker 5: it's a big gap.
- 31:20Speaker 3: It's a big gap.
- 31:21Speaker 2: But in there that gap was partially filled by Major
- 31:25Speaker 2: League three.
- 31:26Speaker 3: Back to the.
- 31:26Speaker 6: Miners quick question, So regarding the movies, is there a
- 31:31Speaker 6: controversial sequel or take on a sequel you think is
- 31:35Speaker 6: better than the original? Like my Grease Too?
- 31:39Speaker 3: Anyway?
- 31:40Speaker 2: I will say, briefly, let me, let me finish, take
- 31:43Speaker 2: care of guys, have a go on, all right. I
- 31:46Speaker 2: will say he is not the only person that feels
- 31:49Speaker 2: Grease Too is better than Grease one. I don't know
- 31:52Speaker 2: how or why, but that popped up on my Instagram
- 31:54Speaker 2: feed a couple of days ago, someone else talking about
- 31:56Speaker 2: how they think Grease two is better than Grease one.
- 32:00Speaker 2: I've not seen either enough to know to pass judgment
- 32:02Speaker 2: either way. I'm going to assume though, that the first
- 32:05Speaker 2: was probably better, although the second it is really hard
- 32:09Speaker 2: to top. Michelle Pfeiffer and Atrian's admit. But as far
- 32:15Speaker 2: as a controversial sequel better than the original, I don't
- 32:20Speaker 2: think I can think of one. I mean, outside of
- 32:23Speaker 2: the standard ones that everyone pretty much accepts that Empire
- 32:28Speaker 2: Strikes Back was better than a New Hope Godfather to
- 32:31Speaker 2: a lot of people think, and a lot of people
- 32:33Speaker 2: agree was better than Godfather one. Aliens might be better
- 32:39Speaker 2: than Alien. So, I mean, there's lots of those examples
- 32:43Speaker 2: that the second was better than the first, But I
- 32:45Speaker 2: can't think of a controversial one that I feel that
- 32:48Speaker 2: way unless they do a Jim Kotta two.
- 32:51Speaker 3: So I'll keep an open mind.
- 32:54Speaker 4: What do we think was better the first Top Gun
- 32:57Speaker 4: or a Top Gun.
- 32:57Speaker 2: Maverick first one? I think so first one.
- 33:01Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know.
- 33:05Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean both excellent. Yeah, at a certain point,
- 33:10Speaker 1: when there's so much time in between them, I don't like.
- 33:15Speaker 1: I mean, I I know Maverick it's a sequel, but.
- 33:22Speaker 4: I just think it.
- 33:23Speaker 5: I just think it had more, like you know, it
- 33:26Speaker 5: was more. It's updated now and it had its more
- 33:29Speaker 5: oomph and a little more tear drip drinking scenes and.
- 33:33Speaker 2: There's not there's there was nothing more tear jerking than
- 33:36Speaker 2: Goose dying on the first one. There was nothing in
- 33:38Speaker 2: Top Gun Maverick that was nearly as tea as tear
- 33:42Speaker 2: jerkery than that.
- 33:44Speaker 5: When he's like thank you Ice for everything, He's like, oh,
- 33:47Speaker 5: come on, He's like, who's the better pilot me or you,
- 33:49Speaker 5: and he's like, this is a nice moment, let's not
- 33:51Speaker 5: ruin it. And they give each other that hug and
- 33:52Speaker 5: then it cuts to the picture.
- 33:54Speaker 3: That is sweet and it was and it was.
- 33:56Speaker 2: It was uh funny and sincere and it was beautiful.
- 34:00Speaker 2: It was a beautiful thing. But no, I bet that
- 34:03Speaker 2: I'm not gonna say that Tom conks.
- 34:05Speaker 4: Rooster at the end. I don't know.
- 34:07Speaker 5: I'm just he wanted to see, you know, a little
- 34:09Speaker 5: controversial debate. That was the worst thing that popped in
- 34:11Speaker 5: my head because I watched both of them yesterday.
- 34:14Speaker 4: Oh nice, and I find that I finally watched Superman.
- 34:19Speaker 3: Oh the new one, what do you think?
- 34:21Speaker 4: Fantastic?
- 34:23Speaker 3: A lot of fun, right, Yeah.
- 34:25Speaker 2: I give it credit for doing something that a Superman
- 34:27Speaker 2: movie hadn't done in a long time. And that's actually
- 34:30Speaker 2: highlight one of the things that Superman is all about,
- 34:33Speaker 2: which is being a good dude.
- 34:37Speaker 3: I mean, let's be let's be honest.
- 34:39Speaker 2: He is a albeit an alien. He was raised in
- 34:42Speaker 2: yokel Kansas, So yeah, Smallville, what the hey, dude, I
- 34:50Speaker 2: think that was one of his first lines. Yeah, but
- 34:56Speaker 2: at the end, at the end, he's still a punk rocker,
- 34:59Speaker 2: uh tray any controversial sequel takes.
- 35:04Speaker 1: No, I've I mean most of them suck. That's uh,
- 35:08Speaker 1: I'm trying to Yeah, Like it's.
- 35:13Speaker 2: Like I'm racking my brain trying to think of all
- 35:15Speaker 2: the movies I've seen and thinking the ones that have
- 35:17Speaker 2: had sequels, and I can't think of a controversial one
- 35:21Speaker 2: to say the sequel was better Iron Eagle too, it
- 35:24Speaker 2: was definitely not better than Iron Eagle one.
- 35:27Speaker 1: I mean, i'll give you a good The Lord of
- 35:29Speaker 1: the Rings trilogy, each one is better than the previous,
- 35:32Speaker 1: like it it crescendoed. But I also that's not really
- 35:38Speaker 1: to me a sequel. Those are just I mean, there
- 35:40Speaker 1: were books but telling the same tale.
- 35:43Speaker 2: Just that was one big story, yes that that just
- 35:47Speaker 2: had to be broken up into chunks.
- 35:50Speaker 3: So I'm with you.
- 35:50Speaker 2: It's like kind of sequel but not really like to me, like,
- 35:55Speaker 2: if you thought Taken two was better than Taken one,
- 35:58Speaker 2: you're an ass hat and you're insane. But Take that
- 36:03Speaker 2: is a like the first one was beginning, middle end story, done,
- 36:08Speaker 2: movie over.
- 36:08Speaker 3: You don't need a whole franchise.
- 36:11Speaker 2: So but the second one pure sequel. It's not like
- 36:14Speaker 2: there was a whole taken story that needed to be told.
- 36:17Speaker 5: Like Tolkien, I think Young Guns two was better than
- 36:21Speaker 5: Young Guns one.
- 36:22Speaker 2: Ooh, I'd agree with that one. And that's not controversial.
- 36:25Speaker 2: That's another great example, Matt. We can't think of one.
- 36:29Speaker 2: Oh well, let's move on.
- 36:30Speaker 3: Oh thank you.
- 36:33Speaker 16: On Friday show, the news story about burning Man's orgy dome,
- 36:40Speaker 16: Trey made the comment about it's a family affair and
- 36:43Speaker 16: there was a TV show back in the sixties by
- 36:46Speaker 16: that title, and today would be a whole different thing.
- 36:54Speaker 3: Yeah, here wrong.
- 36:55Speaker 17: Hey, guys, Thursday show was so good. There's so many
- 36:59Speaker 17: things I could comment, but I'm only going to comment
- 37:01Speaker 17: on this one. Darwin Awards is going to have a
