Latest / Tea Time w/Amie & Bev / Episode #282: Nervous System Rollercoaster from Screen Time
Transcript
- 0:03Speaker 1: Hi, everybody, Welcome to teach time with Amy and Bev.
- 0:06Speaker 1: It's up, sister.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Top of the day too, yet top of the day Love.
- 0:11Speaker 2: It's just came out as a birthday for my grandson,
- 0:17Speaker 2: my youngest grandson. He just turned well, he's two today actually,
- 0:20Speaker 2: so wow, that's crazy.
- 0:23Speaker 1: Time flies.
- 0:24Speaker 2: It does, It really does. And it's and when I
- 0:27Speaker 2: recognize that, you know, sitting back and stuff, it's really
- 0:29Speaker 2: just a kind of celebrate as many moments as we
- 0:32Speaker 2: can while we're in it. You know, a long time
- 0:36Speaker 2: ago we talked about like, I don't I don't feel
- 0:39Speaker 2: like it's micromanaging, but it kind of is. You know,
- 0:41Speaker 2: when we're focused on the things that we're staying before
- 0:44Speaker 2: they come out of our mouth and annunciations and so
- 0:48Speaker 2: many other things, staying on track with you know, your
- 0:52Speaker 2: connections and stuff. It's interesting when you get into that
- 0:55Speaker 2: space because things start happening. That's some weird stuff happened
- 0:58Speaker 2: recently to the point where I was I was walking
- 1:02Speaker 2: stark outside and I'm walking back and forth in front
- 1:04Speaker 2: of the on the concrete in front of the house
- 1:05Speaker 2: because I'm having conversations with myself. I'm working through things,
- 1:09Speaker 2: you know, there's a lot of stuff going on, and
- 1:10Speaker 2: I hear lashlight and then all of a sudden, I
- 1:22Speaker 2: see in my mind's eye this transla and I'm like,
- 1:25Speaker 2: that's weird. But like I said, I'm pacing back and
- 1:27Speaker 2: forth the stark outside. I'm just walking back and forth
- 1:29Speaker 2: on the sidewalk. So I go in and get into
- 1:31Speaker 2: flashlight and I go out there, and sure is not
- 1:33Speaker 2: if there's a big transla that's like right up against
- 1:36Speaker 2: the wall, like in the corner there, like like letting
- 1:39Speaker 2: me know I'm here. And I thought, well, that was strange,
- 1:42Speaker 2: but it happened, and I was all excited when I
- 1:44Speaker 2: came in and shared the story because I thought, well,
- 1:46Speaker 2: that's just as that's not where you would typically expect
- 1:49Speaker 2: a communication to come from. It's just you just don't.
- 1:52Speaker 2: But I wasn't in that. I was just in that
- 1:54Speaker 2: space of being open. I'm saying something, I'm hearing information
- 1:57Speaker 2: coming back, and it popped in. And I tell that
- 2:00Speaker 2: story just so people recognize the more that we slow
- 2:03Speaker 2: down and just listen, the more that we have conversations
- 2:08Speaker 2: with ourselves. I have conversations with my animals all the time,
- 2:10Speaker 2: and I feel like that's a that's an opening for
- 2:13Speaker 2: the opportunity for a response, right, not not expecting it,
- 2:16Speaker 2: but there's an opportunity for it. And it's like this
- 2:19Speaker 2: stuff is it's all the time with everything, and it's
- 2:22Speaker 2: we don't know what that looks like without exploring it.
- 2:24Speaker 2: So I'm exploring it. Cool.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Did you look up triangula at all?
- 2:30Speaker 2: I didn't, because I have a few of them and
- 2:32Speaker 2: I talked to them. I have another one that I
- 2:34Speaker 2: think that she's got a nest out here because she's
- 2:37Speaker 2: got it buried up. But it's like, because I'm out
- 2:39Speaker 2: there with them, I'm curious.
- 2:42Speaker 1: So I'm looking it up right now.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Which is cool. And then it's like even last night
- 2:47Speaker 2: I was telling Freeman, I said, you know, it's it's
- 2:49Speaker 2: interesting when you start noticing other things that are around
- 2:52Speaker 2: you all the time. The animals are falling, the snakes
- 2:54Speaker 2: are coming in that like, there's we're at a frequency
- 2:58Speaker 2: where we're at that's in more cohoots with the environment.
- 3:03Speaker 2: It's it's a you know, it's an opportunity for everything
- 3:07Speaker 2: to come forward to us and not be afraid of it.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Last night, I'm walking around, there's a scorpion. I'm not
- 3:11Speaker 2: worried about that. You know, I tell things that they
- 3:15Speaker 2: have a place and it's not right up around my
- 3:17Speaker 2: house or nerve my dogs with some of the things.
- 3:19Speaker 2: But I don't mess with them if they're you know,
- 3:22Speaker 2: away from things. So it's just recognizing where my frequency
- 3:26Speaker 2: is vibrating at in order for other things to come
- 3:28Speaker 2: into the space.
- 3:30Speaker 1: So I'm just going with the first thing that pops
- 3:33Speaker 1: up on Google. So spiritual meaning of triantula is multifaceted,
- 3:38Speaker 1: often symbolizing patients manifesting goals and the power of the feminine.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Can also a need for calm, trust and focus, a
- 3:51Speaker 1: call to make significant life decisions, or a sign of
- 3:54Speaker 1: significant personal growth.
- 3:59Speaker 2: I would say, yes, it's true. All of it is true.
- 4:05Speaker 2: There's awesome, But no, it's awesome because it's a good
- 4:08Speaker 2: opportunity for everyone else to recognize when these things come
- 4:11Speaker 2: up to look it up and I didn't. Usually I do,
- 4:13Speaker 2: but I didn't, So yeah, it's it's And if we
- 4:18Speaker 2: look up the messages as we're going, just like you
- 4:20Speaker 2: just did, then we kind of see Well, you might
- 4:23Speaker 2: see something that's like a reoccurring statement over and over
- 4:28Speaker 2: and over again until you finally get it or it's
- 4:30Speaker 2: just like new information about where you're going, and I
- 4:32Speaker 2: feel like I'm going that way. The opportunity has presented
- 4:36Speaker 2: itself when you well, we had talked a little bit
- 4:40Speaker 2: back and then talked about getting the videos up on
- 4:42Speaker 2: you know, start doing on stuff on TikTok, and so
- 4:46Speaker 2: I started doing that stuff, and I started recognizing how
- 4:49Speaker 2: I show up, how there's just a lot of different things.
- 4:54Speaker 2: So I'm growing from watching those videos. And then would
- 4:58Speaker 2: have to say that lately, I'm actually put off by digital.
- 5:03Speaker 2: So a lot of a time I'm not even on
- 5:06Speaker 2: any of the stuff. And I might go on it
- 5:08Speaker 2: quickly and do something, but I'm not. I feel pushed
- 5:16Speaker 2: away by it. I want to say repulse, but that
- 5:17Speaker 2: feels too strong of a word. So there's something that's
- 5:19Speaker 2: going on that it is more for me to be
- 5:21Speaker 2: inside with me than it is for me to be
- 5:24Speaker 2: on the digitals. I can't. It's the weirdest thing in
- 5:27Speaker 2: the evenings. I normally we would sit in the house
- 5:29Speaker 2: and we would go through our stuff and there are
- 5:32Speaker 2: certain things we would be looking for and stuff I
- 5:33Speaker 2: can't do it. I'm put off by it. So I
- 5:36Speaker 2: find myself outside a lot all the time. I might
- 5:40Speaker 2: be walking around, i might be sitting, I might be pacing,
- 5:42Speaker 2: but it's like, there's I'm paying attention to what I'm
- 5:47Speaker 2: receiving or how I'm feeling, or why am I feeling
- 5:49Speaker 2: not in my body right now? Why is that triggering me?
- 5:52Speaker 2: Because we know that a trigger is nothing more than
- 5:54Speaker 2: a message that's being sent to us. For me, I
- 5:57Speaker 2: believe it's time for it to be released. It's it's
- 6:00Speaker 2: time for it to come to the surface and not
- 6:02Speaker 2: be stuffed again like I had in the past. Yeah,
- 6:05Speaker 2: So there's just so much growth going on. It goes
- 6:07Speaker 2: along with the Transla too.
- 6:09Speaker 1: I just listened to a podcast and they were talking
- 6:11Speaker 1: about the digital that so now we have a generation
- 6:18Speaker 1: of that's what they do, have their phone constantly and
- 6:22Speaker 1: just doing selfies and and posting and all the things,
- 6:27Speaker 1: and the generation coming up. This is so much the
- 6:33Speaker 1: generation coming up. But it was that that there's there's
- 6:37Speaker 1: a shift happening with the digital space that less or
- 6:47Speaker 1: people are spending less time on it, the younger people
- 6:52Speaker 1: are spending less time on it. And I was like,
- 6:55Speaker 1: that's awesome.
- 6:58Speaker 2: It is awesome because what is that?
- 7:00Speaker 1: But I just to think about first of all physical.
- 7:05Speaker 1: So when we're looking down at our phones, that's creating
- 7:08Speaker 1: physical issues within the line in the back and the
- 7:13Speaker 1: neck and the shoulders looking at the called blue screen
- 7:19Speaker 1: or your laptop phone TV. So what's that doing to
- 7:23Speaker 1: your eyes? And then what are you taking in right?
- 7:28Speaker 1: What are we feeding our brain and body with the
- 7:30Speaker 1: information the content? What are we focused on? So it's
- 7:38Speaker 1: probably a good thing. I will work late at my
- 7:42Speaker 1: job and I work on a laptop, and so my
- 7:47Speaker 1: head is more down and by if I work past
- 7:54Speaker 1: six o'clock, I get this discomfort like right back in here,
- 8:00Speaker 1: and it'll just start getting more intense as the time
- 8:04Speaker 1: goes by. If I stay till seven o'clock, it's so uncomfortable.
- 8:11Speaker 1: So when I start feeling it, not that not that
- 8:15Speaker 1: that's my indicator to leave work, but it's just like, okay,
- 8:20Speaker 1: this is come, I'm done.
- 8:22Speaker 2: I gotta go.
- 8:23Speaker 1: Can't stay No the more so, and yes, there's pribor
- 8:27Speaker 1: remedies for that, where I could get an actual monitor
- 8:30Speaker 1: and regular setup for what I do. It's easier for
- 8:35Speaker 1: me to grab my laptop off my desk and go
- 8:37Speaker 1: walk around with it and be mobile with it. So
- 8:41Speaker 1: so I understand there's remedies. I got it.
- 8:47Speaker 2: But the thing is, do we need those remedies because
- 8:49Speaker 2: we're that means we're ignoring our body and being able
- 8:52Speaker 2: to stay in that place by bringing your desk up
- 8:54Speaker 2: to a standing or you know what I mean. There's
- 8:55Speaker 2: so many different things that they've made it where it's
- 8:57Speaker 2: like conducive for you to sit behind that computer longer
- 9:00Speaker 2: and work longer hours. And I don't think that that's
- 9:02Speaker 2: what's necessary. I've never felt like this in my life.
- 9:05Speaker 2: I was a person who played video games. I mean
- 9:07Speaker 2: I play them for hours for days. Every day. I
- 9:10Speaker 2: made sure I would clean the house or do chores
- 9:13Speaker 2: or do whatever I had to do in order that
- 9:15Speaker 2: where I felt good that I was okay playing that
- 9:18Speaker 2: game now And now now it's like it's just it's
- 9:22Speaker 2: a strange place to be in now, not just saying
- 9:25Speaker 2: that I don't use AI, because now even colleygoing I'll
- 9:28Speaker 2: go on and ask, I'll say, like, AI, let's collego this,
- 9:31Speaker 2: and it's like it came up with one. It was
- 9:32Speaker 2: like I got goosebumps on. I was like, this is
- 9:34Speaker 2: so good because it just helped to motivate me into
- 9:38Speaker 2: the space of how would I like to colleygo? So
- 9:40Speaker 2: I use it for different stuff like that, but not
- 9:43Speaker 2: like not all the time too. It's like it'll go,
- 9:46Speaker 2: it'll run its course through it through that day or
- 9:49Speaker 2: if I burn some you know, releasing things that it
- 9:51Speaker 2: helps me to recognize what kind of things would I
- 9:54Speaker 2: like to really, so it gives me the opportunity to
- 9:56Speaker 2: explore things. But with all that being said, that means
- 9:59Speaker 2: I'm on there less. I'm not spending so much time
- 10:01Speaker 2: even trying to go research things or anything like that.
- 10:05Speaker 2: I might research things because if I get information from
- 10:08Speaker 2: Ai'll research that for myself to clarify is this real
- 10:13Speaker 2: or is this whatever it's grabbed a hold of that's
- 10:15Speaker 2: been out there for a while. And so I kind
- 10:18Speaker 2: of explore some of that stuff. But otherwise I would
- 10:20Speaker 2: say I'm pretty much like, can't find myself getting onto
- 10:24Speaker 2: these platforms very well, and so I find that interesting.
- 10:29Speaker 2: It's just where I'm at in life right now. So
- 10:31Speaker 2: I'm not pushing against it or forcing myself to do
- 10:34Speaker 2: it anyways. I'm just listening to what are my needs
- 10:38Speaker 2: because it's my whole life. I've learned what are you
- 10:41Speaker 2: know to focus on what other people's needs are in
- 10:44Speaker 2: order for me to navigate through life. And that's that's
- 10:47Speaker 2: not good for myself. It's just isn't It's not good
- 10:51Speaker 2: for anybody's elf to be so focused on someone else's
- 10:54Speaker 2: once needs and desires. You brought up to younger generation
- 10:58Speaker 2: about not wanting to be as much now my grand
- 11:01Speaker 2: both my grands were the older ones, were wanting to
- 11:04Speaker 2: be on this stuff all the time. But we find things.
- 11:07Speaker 2: I've been finding things for us to go do, or
- 11:08Speaker 2: trying to find things, maybe the bowling alley. We might
- 11:11Speaker 2: even go stand up and play a couple making it
- 11:20Speaker 2: interesting and fun so that we're not just locked on
- 11:24Speaker 2: to playing video games or watching stuff on YouTube and
- 11:28Speaker 2: that stuff. And then I'll tell them when we're out
- 11:30Speaker 2: in those places, I'm like, aren't you having so much
- 11:32Speaker 2: more fun than we would have if we stayed inside
- 11:34Speaker 2: doing those things? Yeah, Because I want them to be
- 11:37Speaker 2: aware of this is how it feels when we're out
- 11:39Speaker 2: doing things, and when all the kids get together, and
- 11:42Speaker 2: like for the birthday yesterday, when we celebrated the birthday yesterday,
- 11:46Speaker 2: all the kids had such a blast out there and
- 11:48Speaker 2: I got to sit back and watch this stuff, like
- 11:50Speaker 2: watch the dynamics. I'm one of the girls, like getting
- 11:53Speaker 2: mad at and trying to manipulate everybody to push her
- 11:55Speaker 2: on the swing or you know, just different stuff. It
- 11:58Speaker 2: was just fun watching my two year old grandson, like everyone,
- 12:02Speaker 2: the littles are all trying to kind of guide him
- 12:04Speaker 2: and tell him what he needs to do, and he's like, no,
- 12:06Speaker 2: he's not no part of that. He's like, no, no, no,
- 12:08Speaker 2: you're not telling me what to do. He doesn't matter
- 12:10Speaker 2: that he's too, he's not. It's it's just fascinating to
- 12:13Speaker 2: watch all the dynamics amongst everybody, and then how if
- 12:17Speaker 2: my mother or grandmother instincts would might want to come
- 12:20Speaker 2: in and correct that when I'm seeing them trying to,
- 12:23Speaker 2: you know, push him around and do something, and but
- 12:25Speaker 2: I didn't. I just witnessed it because he was safe,
- 12:28Speaker 2: and so I watched how his responses were two things
- 12:30Speaker 2: instead of being felt like he was being pushed into
- 12:33Speaker 2: something like that. So it's just been that's life's more
- 12:37Speaker 2: fun when you're paying attention.
- 12:39Speaker 1: Yeah, I h you started doing the tiktoks, posting our
- 12:44Speaker 1: videos on there, and.
- 12:47Speaker 2: There was a few.
- 12:47Speaker 1: Days I didn't go on TikTok and then like about
- 12:50Speaker 1: the third or fourth day, I was like, ooh, shoot,
- 12:52Speaker 1: and he go on there and share the videos.
- 12:56Speaker 2: Oh I bet get on.
- 12:57Speaker 1: There, So how do get off? I'll I'll do that.
- 13:04Speaker 1: I'm like, okay, I talk to myself, get on there
- 13:08Speaker 1: and do your business. Get off, be done, because first
- 13:13Speaker 1: of all, I have a lot of things to get
- 13:15Speaker 1: done and spending time scrolling through social media probably isn't
- 13:25Speaker 1: the best use of my time when I have a
- 13:28Speaker 1: list of things that I would like to get done.
- 13:30Speaker 1: So it's a it's a get your business done, get
- 13:35Speaker 1: off social media. So and even my mentors, she's like,
- 13:39Speaker 1: I don't spend hardly any time on social media. If
- 13:41Speaker 1: I go on there, I'm taking care of some business.
- 13:45Speaker 1: I might check in with some people that is in
- 13:50Speaker 1: her community, meaning her groups. I might just flip through
- 13:56Speaker 1: the comments real quick to make some you know, responses back,
- 14:03Speaker 1: and get off. I don't don't scroll media. I don't
- 14:06Speaker 1: sit there on it. Nice. But she's also very, very,
- 14:12Speaker 1: very productive person, and I have no idea. Most of
- 14:15Speaker 1: us in our community doesn't even know when she sleeps.
- 14:18Speaker 1: She says she gets like seven to eight hours of sleep,
- 14:21Speaker 1: and I don't know how.
- 14:25Speaker 2: It's well, that's like a balance with your passions then, right,
- 14:28Speaker 2: because she's passionate about her work. Oh yeah, and it
- 14:32Speaker 2: sounds like there's a balance there, so that there's a
- 14:34Speaker 2: balance with her relationships, there's a balance with the work.
- 14:36Speaker 2: There is a balance with everything, and it's it's that
- 14:40Speaker 2: fine line, right, And if it's your passions, you're not
- 14:42Speaker 2: working ever anyways, You're just getting out there doing your things,
- 14:45Speaker 2: and then that's the way.
- 14:48Speaker 1: Yeah. But she's also passionate about what she does for one, yes,
- 14:53Speaker 1: and she makes time for her family so that they
- 14:57Speaker 1: are engaged doing something together. They have they sit and
- 15:03Speaker 1: have a meal together once a week for her kids
- 15:07Speaker 1: and grandkids and everybody gets together.
- 15:10Speaker 2: So it's like.
- 15:13Speaker 1: Making life a priority over digital over social making being
- 15:27Speaker 1: having communication. I just had a teacher last night. He's like,
- 15:33Speaker 1: these kids don't know how to communicate. It's true.
- 15:37Speaker 2: It's so true.
- 15:40Speaker 1: They get thirty right, they get thirty to ninety second
- 15:44Speaker 1: videos that they're looking at these clips but not getting
- 15:47Speaker 1: the whole context of the conversation that's been clipped, or
- 15:54Speaker 1: that thirty to six thirty to ninety second dopamine hit
- 16:00Speaker 1: to keep them laughing, or engaged or the opposites to too.
- 16:06Speaker 1: You know, it spikes the corsal where they get all
- 16:08Speaker 1: stressed out and and upset and angry about something because
- 16:12Speaker 1: of social So wow, it's a huge roller coaster when
- 16:16Speaker 1: you stay on that. For your body, for your nervous system.
- 16:21Speaker 2: Yeah, it is. It's a it's a lot. It's a
- 16:24Speaker 2: lot on the adrenals and all that stuff. It really is.
- 16:26Speaker 2: People don't recognize that until they've gotten into that space
- 16:29Speaker 2: where it has been an effect on their life. Because
- 16:33Speaker 2: I had gone through that space, so I totally get it.
- 16:36Speaker 2: And so when things kind of start kicking in, like
- 16:39Speaker 2: the adrenaline and stuff like that, I really have to
- 16:42Speaker 2: I step back and take some breaths and stuff. I
- 16:44Speaker 2: learned how to relax my mind and stuff like that,
- 16:48Speaker 2: because otherwise you can be so consumed by that and
- 16:50Speaker 2: it's really hard on the system, and it's and it's
- 16:53Speaker 2: not it's totally unnecessary. It's totally unnecessary. I feel like
- 16:57Speaker 2: I can do so much more from being in a
- 16:59Speaker 2: neutral space when I hear the information, because I can
- 17:02Speaker 2: think correctly, or I can process it from a different space.
- 17:05Speaker 2: Otherwise you get otherwise you're processing it from that the
- 17:09Speaker 2: reptile brain, right, that fight or flight is how they
- 17:13Speaker 2: refer to everything. So yeah, and it's then then you're
- 17:18Speaker 2: not operating. You're just operating from that space, from that
- 17:21Speaker 2: space of fear or you know, for safety.
- 17:24Speaker 1: Oh yeah, and I didn't even really. I think it
- 17:32Speaker 1: hit more when I just said it about the nervous system,
- 17:35Speaker 1: because we can go from a video that is just
- 17:40Speaker 1: pulling out our heartstrings and putting tears in our eyes
- 17:42Speaker 1: and making us very sad, and then the next video
- 17:47Speaker 1: two minutes later is you're laughing and seeing animals doing
- 17:52Speaker 1: silly things, and then you're then you're watching a video
- 17:55Speaker 1: that's poking you with your anger level, and then it's
- 18:00Speaker 1: a it's a oh, here's a video a babies laughing.
- 18:04Speaker 1: So you're just constantly up and down, up and down,
- 18:06Speaker 1: up and down, and your body is just it's no wonder.
- 18:10Speaker 1: We're a wreck right now in ourselves with our emotions
- 18:14Speaker 1: and stuff, because our body is like, well, okay, what
- 18:17Speaker 1: are we doing now? Oh now, we're oh right, it's
- 18:20Speaker 1: our body is probably so confused.
- 18:24Speaker 2: Because we're so confused, It's so many opportunities though, because
- 18:28Speaker 2: everything we could look at a lot of that stuff
- 18:30Speaker 2: as it's an opportunity being triggered right from your device,
- 18:32Speaker 2: But it depends on how we're processing it, right, But
- 18:34Speaker 2: it's an opportunity to process it that way, to process
- 18:37Speaker 2: and recognize, Oh, look at how I'm responding to that
- 18:40Speaker 2: or recognizing instead of continuing to watch it, like that's
- 18:43Speaker 2: not for me. Why would I continue watching something that
- 18:45Speaker 2: doesn't feel good? And it's like we have to recognize.
- 18:48Speaker 2: But we've we've learned and received training that we do
- 18:52Speaker 2: things whether we like it or not. That's life. That's
- 18:55Speaker 2: what we were told. That's life. Sorry, life's tough, tough,
- 18:58Speaker 2: you just gonna have to figure it out. Yeah, and
- 19:01Speaker 2: it's and it's not like that we do we can
- 19:04Speaker 2: figure it out, but it's like, let's give more tools.
- 19:06Speaker 2: And that goes back to the conversation about these kids
- 19:09Speaker 2: don't know how to communicate. Well, a lot of us
- 19:11Speaker 2: adults don't know how to communicate. So when we start
- 19:13Speaker 2: learning how how to have even good conversations within ourselves,
- 19:17Speaker 2: even about ourselves, that's going to change everything. Anyways, it's
- 19:21Speaker 2: we get caught up and thinking we have to go
- 19:23Speaker 2: fix all these things. But it's an internal thing. It's
- 19:26Speaker 2: it's recognizing I'm seeing that because maybe I don't communicate well,
- 19:29Speaker 2: there's something inside of me that doesn't communicate. Well, it all.
- 19:34Speaker 2: That's all that it is. All the stuff that we're
- 19:36Speaker 2: experiencing is and it's But we don't have to go
- 19:38Speaker 2: on the roller coaster ride and act like it's We're like,
- 19:41Speaker 2: we've got our hands and got to kick your hands
- 19:43Speaker 2: in the vehicle at all times, and you've got your
- 19:45Speaker 2: seat belts on. It doesn't have to be that way.
- 19:48Speaker 2: It doesn't have to be that way. We can explore
- 19:50Speaker 2: it and have more fun with it, which is what
- 19:52Speaker 2: I'm learning. Yeah, now is it always fun? Now? It
- 19:55Speaker 2: was not always fun, But it's fun when you get
- 19:57Speaker 2: past it and you're like, that doesn't have any control
- 19:59Speaker 2: over me anymore. That's fun When I recognize I'm free,
- 20:04Speaker 2: When I can walk out in front of my house
- 20:05Speaker 2: and then something I receive information into my mind from
- 20:08Speaker 2: something else that's nearby me. That that's just being you
- 20:13Speaker 2: know in the moments. Yeah, that's just walking back and
- 20:21Speaker 2: forth and being enough things. And it's gosh, there's so
- 20:23Speaker 2: much growth that's happening. It's just recognizing that there's so
- 20:25Speaker 2: much more to us than all the things that we
- 20:28Speaker 2: thought that was that was us, it's not even a
- 20:31Speaker 2: true story.
- 20:32Speaker 1: Right, And and that's one more thing with digital is
- 20:38Speaker 1: we more so, I would say with younger people is
- 20:42Speaker 1: because they're trying to figure out their identity where they
- 20:45Speaker 1: fit in that they start forming themselves through the social
- 20:49Speaker 1: media platforms. And it's probably not most likely nine time,
- 20:57Speaker 1: probably not their idea, Like, it's not who they are.
- 21:01Speaker 1: They're just getting these watching these other people of their lifestyle,
- 21:08Speaker 1: their their way of being. And and yeah, we can
- 21:12Speaker 1: implement it in the in the ways that we want
- 21:14Speaker 1: to be better, but designing ourselves on things where people
- 21:20Speaker 1: are probably being not authentic and trying to formulate themselves
- 21:31Speaker 1: in a way that fits that persona and and so
- 21:34Speaker 1: maybe just being careful of that too.
- 21:39Speaker 2: And we're really just better off just figuring out who
- 21:41Speaker 2: we are and what we want, especially when we're littles
- 21:44Speaker 2: and stuff like that, right because because our once needs
- 21:47Speaker 2: and desires aren't always our ones needs and desires. It's
- 21:52Speaker 2: what somebody else wanted, and we don't know how to
- 21:54Speaker 2: define define what's the difference between our once needs and
- 21:59Speaker 2: desires versus somebody else's.
- 22:01Speaker 1: Right, So friends, be more aware of when you're on
- 22:12Speaker 1: social media, you're scrolling, doesn't matter what platform. How notice
- 22:16Speaker 1: your body. Notice I've noticed there's times when I'm watching
- 22:19Speaker 1: something on social and my heart starts racing. I'm like, oh,
- 22:22Speaker 1: hold on this, chill out, like talking to myself. So
- 22:29Speaker 1: notice what's going on in your body. How often are
- 22:33Speaker 1: you spiking it to joy and then down to sadness
- 22:36Speaker 1: and then off to anger. And as you're going through
- 22:39Speaker 1: social media, how long are you spending time reading the
- 22:43Speaker 1: comments that might keep you in a space of discomfort
- 22:48Speaker 1: and anger? And really pay attention because your body is
- 22:54Speaker 1: is your indicator of how you're doing so and how
- 22:59Speaker 1: much time time are you spending We've been talking about
- 23:01Speaker 1: this for years, not just us, but other people talk
- 23:05Speaker 1: about this for years. How much time are you spending
- 23:08Speaker 1: with your phone in your face and not engaging with
- 23:15Speaker 1: people around you or just noticing your surroundings so which
- 23:22Speaker 1: I'm not going to talk about it, but also could
- 23:23Speaker 1: be safety issues when you got your phone in your
- 23:26Speaker 1: face and you're walking down the street. Just saying, but anyway,
- 23:32Speaker 1: any other words, Beth, Yeah.
- 23:34Speaker 2: If our faces are very just like you're saying, if
- 23:36Speaker 2: our faces are buried in the phone. We're missing everything
- 23:38Speaker 2: that's going on around us. Everything. You're missing your kids playing,
- 23:42Speaker 2: You're missing the dog outside, your dog outside, You're missing
- 23:46Speaker 2: the butterfly flying up to you. The humming bird is
- 23:48Speaker 2: trying to get your attention. You're missing everything just for
- 23:52Speaker 2: that device that's in your face. I'm not saying that
- 23:54Speaker 2: there's anything wrong with using it for a few minutes,
- 23:56Speaker 2: but it's not necessary to stay on it the whole
- 23:59Speaker 2: time because I feel like there's so much stuff that
- 24:01Speaker 2: I missed out on my kids growing up because I
- 24:04Speaker 2: was playing video games. Yep, yeah, And what's more important?
- 24:10Speaker 2: Am I going to miss my phone? Or am I
- 24:11Speaker 2: going to miss my kids?
- 24:12Speaker 1: Right? Right? But what are you going to be your
- 24:16Speaker 1: regrets when you take about to take your last breath? Right?
- 24:20Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 24:21Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 24:21Speaker 2: All right?
- 24:22Speaker 1: Friends, take notes? How's how's the digital world for you?
- 24:27Speaker 1: And how are you feeling when you're on it? So
- 24:30Speaker 1: just bringing more awareness into yourself. This is how we
- 24:33Speaker 1: get to be and do better is self awareness. So
