Transcript
- 0:20[SPEAKER_03]: And we're on this to three hours per carry CFB, three YPC, CFB, full cast is back.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_03]: We thank Ali for helping us out last week.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_03]: Really really cool things, I mean, we'll just start right here.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_03]: We had Ali Hodginson last last week.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_03]: It's a joy reading his Twitter timeline or his X timeline.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_03]: Because the guy was tweeting about on Wednesday, about the FIU Jacksonville State King.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_01]: Dude, he loves, and he's an absolute king, but he loves that kind of,
- 1:02[SPEAKER_01]: He loves small school FCS stuff, like he's still awake at like five o'clock in the morning watching like, you know, the most bizarre, all those kind of late night games that you get on the west coast.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_01]: He's watching the kind of the small school late night stuff.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes I get up in the morning early and he's still watching the game that's gone to over time.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_01]: He hasn't even been to bed yet, but yeah, he's, um, he's got the sickness.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_01]: Man, he's got the, he's got the bad.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I was watching that game.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_03]: I was watching that game on Tuesday because that's my I'm a model by the way, FIU and my daughter goes there.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_03]: So I was watching that game and I like the head coach.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_03]: Just in case, you know, full disclosure, I'm an NIL member for FIU football.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_03]: I was watching that game and yeah, they lost by a last second field goal, but I got a kick out of it like I'm checking Twitter and he's a local place asking a talking about that game.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_03]: So I thought that was really really cool.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I don't know anybody that knows as much about college football as Holy does.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, very, very knowledgeable.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, very, very knowledgeable.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very
- 2:08[SPEAKER_03]: As always, this show is brought to you by progressive insurance, America's number one auto-insure.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_03]: And of course,
- 2:18[SPEAKER_03]: Thompson cigar.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_03]: Thompson cigar just use their promo code.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_03]: That's three yards per carry.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_03]: That's the number three yard per carry.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_03]: And you get 20% off your order of $75 or more.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_03]: I've told the I've told this joke right.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_03]: I'm too odd cast already.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_03]: But when I signed to deal with Thompson cigar.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_03]: It's, uh, there's a little clause that says that the contract runs until the dolphins are eliminated from the NFL playoffs.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_01]: Wow, we're not going to lie.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_03]: Well, the good news is that the regular season, they're on with us, okay?
- 2:58[SPEAKER_03]: So they will be with us for the duration.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_03]: So, you know, they're not going to quit us in week seven.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_03]: All right, that's not going to happen.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_03]: All right, let's get to it.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_03]: Well, we're the best things you saw last week.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_03]: Simon, I really enjoyed last week.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_03]: I thought it was one of the better weeks of college football.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_03]: And I got an odd one for my number one.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_03]: I'll go last on this.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_03]: But what were the best things you saw last week?
- 3:26[SPEAKER_01]: So I was in holiday.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_01]: So I didn't see a lot of stuff live.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_01]: It's just sort of a couple of games.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_01]: I saw the last three quotes of Texas, Oklahoma, which was a great game, great fun.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_01]: and then George Rader Banner, we just such a fascinating game and we'll get to our high as my channel a bit, but I just thought, kind of stalked him was really good.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_01]: I thought he played really well and I just love how well he played in the biggest moment.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_01]: So the game, we do draft stuff, shall cloud as this.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_01]: I don't really do as much as I should, but Daniel Jeremiah always says, you know, the very first thing you watch is when he found him, it's a quarterback, he's the downplays, especially third and seventh class.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_01]: And on Saturday, he was 9 for 10 on 3rd down for 104 yards.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_01]: He had seven conversions, six passing one rushing.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_01]: And I just thought, you know, just when you needed him most in that game, I just thought he played really, really well.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_01]: So to me, those were the two that kind of really stood out for me.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_01]: And then I watched the kind of extended highlights of South Carolina because I wanted to see the kind of the ultimate.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_01]: call back predictees, which is not our sellers, you know, playing probably as well as I've ever seen him.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_01]: Um, just everything that you kind of look for, you know, ripping balls down the field and not just kind of buck your balls and you so good out that just the throwing was he was open that sort of stuff.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_01]: I was really intrigued to see that performance and how South Carolina just controlled the trenches in that game was really interesting.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_01]: So those from me were the standouts.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't as much of a weekend as it would have been like a six.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_01]: I was away, but those those are the games that staffed for me.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_01]: And obviously seeing the number one team in the nation going down was pretty.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_01]: It was always pretty cool.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that red river rival regame and kind of Texas playing with fire repeatedly all season this far and arch manning playing with fire all season long and it finally kind of showing up in a game like that and in a rival,
- 5:29[SPEAKER_02]: for Oklahoma to win the way that they did and get two intersections in arch in the fourth quarter and they get a black punt for a touchdown and just the chaos of it all right I think that to me was the big stand-alone thing I really enjoyed seeing Kim Coleman really get going in that game is uh what I I believe is a marquee physical talent that really hasn't had production that I think is in line with what his
- 5:55[SPEAKER_02]: his physical ability is as he transfers into Texas this year.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_02]: So I enjoyed that element of that game as well.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_02]: And then let's shout out UCLA and knocking off Oregon and super unfortunate about Nico going down for the season with an injury and
- 6:12[SPEAKER_02]: but but UCLA kind of be in a team that feels like they're getting some momentum and It's a shame that Nico playing as well as he did or he was this season.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_02]: It's gonna see his season end and another game that I would shout out that's kind of in the same light of a bit of an upstart program getting an upset against the top 15 is Kentucky once again kind of
- 6:34[SPEAKER_02]: Let it all hang on the table and don't over two and over time and I really think that's a really turning into a really fun football team with Will Stein and in that Kentucky Wildcats program.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_03]: Let me ask you a couple of questions, Kyle, on what you just mentioned there.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_03]: on UCLA, I was watching, I don't know nothing about who is the backup quarterback at UCLA or how good he's going to be or going to be going forward, but I saw Josh Pate say it won't make any difference whatsoever that UCLA will remain a contender for the rest of the season.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_03]: with Nico, do you agree with that?
- 7:10[SPEAKER_03]: Do you know anything about their backup situation?
- 7:12[SPEAKER_03]: Is you clearly really going to be as good going forward or is there season essentially done?
- 7:18[SPEAKER_02]: So I could tell you that the backup's name is Ty Diffenbach, who's a 6-foot 6-227-pound senior transfer from Cal Poly.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_02]: I admittedly don't know much about it before Cal Poly, he was a pit.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_02]: where at Cal Poly in 2025, he was the starter and threw for 1,300 yards and nine touchdowns.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_02]: So I don't know much about him to be completely honest.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_02]: So I would be surprised if there was not some level of drop off from Nico, but maybe just the way that this team is playing there, maybe that's where Josh was coming from with his angle is the rest of that offense playing in a certain degree that they can take that loss in scribe.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_01]: I thought it was interesting, actually, that Chesney turned to butt Chesney turned to different back and not to because younger brother who I, what was the backup, Mad and I, I am Ali Ava.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_01]: I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I can remember.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_01]: Remember reading, it wasn't, didn't he do, was there some TikTok video, or some, did he do something with somebody's mom, or I'm sure there's some backstory of it, and I'll go play what I would do, or I'm sure there's some story about him doing some sort of TikTok video, and other players' mom, or some like social media, style, or some sort of thing, but I'm out of just making it up.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_01]: So, I'll go play, I'll go play.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_01]: I'll go play.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, and my three the three best things I saw last week was geometry or redemption tour like I was numbers.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_03]: He was 18 of 26 for 155 yards and no touchdowns, no interceptions.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_03]: I thought he played a lot better than that.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_01]: It was a great throw he made to set up the field goal to just satinia that ball down the right-side line towards the end was a really gutsy throw because it wasn't wide open at all.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_01]: It had to be put in the perfect position because it just got the ball back after I just ridiculous throw to be able to just to lay that in there and that was a really nice ball.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and until I say as the thing that made those plays at the end, at the end on that last drive, like his wife receivers were doing him no favors in that game.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_03]: So I thought, John material played really, really well in that game.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_03]: Archmany was the opposite.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_03]: So if we were doing the three worst things that we saw last week, I thought Archmany put a pin in so many balloons for number one overall with that game last week.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_03]: Number two is going to be Georgia, Alabama.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_03]: That was the best football game I saw all year.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_03]: a pros, although you could argue buffalo and you know the bills in the Rams was pretty damn good Yeah, but maybe maybe Alabama Georgia was the best football game period I saw all year How agreed you think that cool was at the end of the game?
- 10:09[SPEAKER_01]: It was awful.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_03]: It was a terrible call.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_01]: It was so bad
- 10:15[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I think the officials look official's choke.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_03]: I think the officials completely choke like all right nobody threw a flag All right, we're not gonna throw a now, you know since it's been 15 seconds So we're just eat this flag that was a penalty that that should have been a penalty and we should have had more football in that game And number one is a weird one the you tell you
- 10:39[SPEAKER_03]: They're number 11, Devin Dampier, with a very stealth Heisman campaign.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_03]: That's a little preview, spoiler of where I'm going in this final segment.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_03]: Weishan Parker, what a player.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_03]: Utah is really good.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_03]: They got, I'm checking their schedule and they got Houston in a couple of weeks.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_03]: That's gonna be tough, Houston's pretty good.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_03]: And they got BYU at home on November 7th.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_03]: it's not crazy to think that Utah could be undefeated and headed to the championship game at the end of their regular season.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_03]: So are they a college football playoff team?
- 11:17[SPEAKER_03]: I think so.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_03]: I think that they're pretty safe if maybe if they take one loss.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_03]: If BYU beats in order
- 11:32[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot of 50.8% chance of landing in the College of O'Plyoff according to ESPN's tracker.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so I, you know, I think it's, it's a good bet.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_03]: They're a fun team to watch.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_03]: They score points.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_03]: They're, they're defense and suddenly blisters the entire game.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_03]: So I thought, you know, it was just Kansas.
- 11:50[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_03]: But they look good in that game.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_03]: And I like them going for it.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_01]: They've got a really good tackle as well.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_01]: The guy that replaced Caira Williams, the left tackle.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_01]: And he's, I mean, they've not missed the B having lost
- 12:07[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, I think Sarah Williams is a, is a really good player.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_01]: Not a lot of people know too much about him because obviously that kind of late-night age Utahy thing, but he's a, he's a left-hack or something.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_01]: He was keeping an eye on it just the people for the drive.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_03]: It's time to do our husband watch as we, we promise we did one earlier on in the season.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_03]: We said we would do an admit season.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_03]: The next time that we'll check in on our
- 12:37[SPEAKER_03]: is we'll be our high-spin picks, not that we have votes or anything, but that's who we think or when should.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_03]: I think it's starting to call us and barren something of forcing an injury.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_03]: is the only thing that's gonna keep Jeremiah Smith from being first on my high school watch, but I'll give you three.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_03]: My number three is gonna be Devon Dampier, very stealth campaign, having a big season.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_03]: Team success usually gets you high school votes.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_03]: And I think Utah's gonna be pretty good.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_03]: I think they could easily be a one-lost team.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_03]: They could be undefeated at seasons end.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_03]: So Devon Dampier's my number three number two is gonna be Dary Mensea for the University of Miami Hurricanes, but I have number one Jeremiah Smith
- 13:23[SPEAKER_03]: has been favourite and likely has been winner.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_03]: What say use Simon?
- 13:29[SPEAKER_01]: I have a number three gunna stop to talk to Matt Merley on.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_01]: I just thought the way he's played, I thought in the biggest game of the season really, 18 or 22, three massive throws when they needed to answer Rating was hard, just delivered in the big moments unless third downs that we talked about.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_01]: I just think he's a, you know,
- 13:50[SPEAKER_01]: They're obviously going to go close to winning it all and you know, if you play for a team that goes on beat and then potentially wins an extra championship or is it with a shout?
- 13:56[SPEAKER_01]: You're you know, that's certainly going to look Um, favorably when it comes to the, to the hardsman.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_01]: Junior that chambris for me, I think um, is number two.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_01]: I just love what he's done and the reason I have meant so in the top three is because I just look at who Miami have played and the schedule isn't amazing.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_01]: And I look at who they've got to play.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_01]: And apart from Notre Dame, I wonder where that kind of Heisman moment is going to come.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_01]: Whereas, you know, you go back and look at the games at Chambers' play, the LSU win, for example.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_01]: But knowing that they've got Missouri and Austin Simmers, they've got Texas, and aren't smiling, they've got all of them.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_01]: They've got Georgia on the horizon.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just saying that, you know, it's the perfect opportunity for this kid to cement his spot in New York and push the number one who,
- 14:42[SPEAKER_01]: Jeremiah Smith is going to win the highest one as he should.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he's the best player in, he's the best coach football player, country mile and the number of speed for themselves.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, the most remarkable thing is that he's not leading the nation in receiving and the guys leading the nation in receiving is a freshman-wide receiver Oregon State, which is insane.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, he'll agree, but 24 and a half yards per reception, which is insane, but yeah, Jeremiah Smith
- 15:10[SPEAKER_02]: call.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'll go.
- 15:14[SPEAKER_02]: Go to Stockton at three.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_02]: I will go Daryne men's at two and I'll go Jeremiah Smith at one.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_02]: I think men's deserves a lot of credit for the efficiency in which he plays.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_02]: I understand the argument for the strength of schedule 84% completion percentage to this point in the season is is pretty surreal to be operating at
- 15:40[SPEAKER_02]: Just some of the outlier numbers for how effective he is, even if it is a softer schedule, I have a hard time looking at that and saying, if we finish the season above an 80% completion percentage, like, I'd have him in my top three for that argument.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_02]: So I see Stockton,
- 16:01[SPEAKER_03]: All right, and we're gonna go to break and when we come back, we'll talk about what we're watching this this week and I think Simon and I will be watching something at 730 and it won't be BYU Notre Dame.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_01]: I know what's in Florida State Ray.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_01]: I'd rather take a rain and what's that shine.
- 16:21[SPEAKER_03]: So you're not with the FSU fans on X and Twitter rooting to lose by by 45 so they could fire
- 16:33[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that's what they don't understand that the buy out for Mike Novel is just that.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_01]: If that game was taking place in my back garden, I'd draw the turns.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_03]: All right.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_03]: By the way, whether supposed to be God awful for that game Thunderstorms, like six inches of rain, it's going to be a disaster on the field.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_03]: So we'll see what the weather does to that game, but the weather is not going to be good for FSU Miami.
- 17:02[SPEAKER_03]: All right, we're going to go to break when we come back.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_03]: We'll talk about what we're watching.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_03]: great, great card, great slated games on Saturday.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_03]: But first, these words, and we're back.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_03]: All right, what are we watching this week?
- 17:16[SPEAKER_03]: Look, I think this is going to be the first week that we won't be unanimous on our game of the week.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_03]: Because I think there's like three different ways we can go on the game of the week.
- 17:28[SPEAKER_03]: So, I'll start with you Simon.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_03]: What are you watching this week?
- 17:33[SPEAKER_03]: And very, very stealthily, keep your game of the week out of our...
- 17:38[SPEAKER_03]: I will still see your group of games.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_01]: There are six, talk 25 matchouts this week, which I think is, you know, I'm excited to see a higher state Indiana, obviously, because of Jeremiah Smith, because of, you know, that Indiana defense, I'm excited to see Mississippi State LSU.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_01]: I'm excited to see,
- 17:57[SPEAKER_01]: Tennessee Alabama, how do Alabama bounce back, and obviously, you know, this kid at Tennessee, the defensive tackle who is going to get an extremely high grade for me in terms of if he comes out, registered sophomore, but, um, Xavier Gillian, just an unbelievably good player.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_01]: So, excited to see that.
- 18:16[SPEAKER_01]: And then, um, I'm kind of excited, obviously, to see the battle between Chamblison and
- 18:26[SPEAKER_01]: That should be a terrific game as well.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_01]: So those are kind of on my game of the week, but those are all the games that are kind of on my radar, I think, looking forward to trying to keep across as many of those as possible whilst ignoring what happens at Hardrock.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_02]: I think I'm really excited for the Austin Simmons revenge game opportunity and going against Ole Miss and as obviously the backup there and now the way that he's playing at Missouri and Mel Kiper had him in his top 10 of his big board update that came out this week.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_02]: So it's kind of really catching lightning in a bottle as far as what they're able to do at Missouri.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_02]: That's the game that I'll shout out here while leaving the game of the week pick that I have off the board to kind of acknowledge like any time you can get a couple of prolific college quarterbacks that have some aspirations for the NFL draft and they're going toe to toe and that for me will will take precedent in that three 30 slate.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_02]: I'll have that on the main screen.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_03]: I'm watching Mississippi State LSU.
- 19:34[SPEAKER_03]: If you like, like I, I'm kind of like a brachatologist now for for the college football playoff.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_03]: If you're into that sort of thing, I was telling people on our discord last week.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_03]: If you really want to see link hip and fail, like if you want to hate watch something,
- 19:51[SPEAKER_03]: Roof for Kentucky because that's the first nail in the LSU playoff coffin.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_03]: This would be the final nail and it would essentially eliminate LSU.
- 20:01[SPEAKER_03]: LSU essentially has to go undefeated the rest of the season to have any chance at the college football playoff.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_03]: So Mississippi State LSU is interesting.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_03]: See, tomorrow Taylor bounce back.
- 20:11[SPEAKER_03]: So I'll be watching that FSU Miami for obvious reasons.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 20:16[SPEAKER_03]: It's a rivalry game.
- 20:17[SPEAKER_03]: Everybody keeps reminding me
- 20:20[SPEAKER_03]: When one of the other have been bad, they've still played tight games.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_03]: I kind of do like action Daniels a little bit for FSU.
- 20:30[SPEAKER_03]: Could this game be close?
- 20:31[SPEAKER_03]: Possibly?
- 20:32[SPEAKER_03]: Will the weather be a great equalizer?
- 20:37[SPEAKER_03]: Also possibly.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_03]: So we shall see.
- 20:39[SPEAKER_03]: But I'll be watching.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_03]: Nord and BYU.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_03]: Obviously.
- 20:45[SPEAKER_03]: ESPN has to fix their FBI ranking or whatever the hell they're calling it these days because they have Notre Dame with a higher chance of making the calls for pop-up playoff if they lose to BYU then if BYU beats Notre Dame.
- 21:02[SPEAKER_03]: So BYU beats Notre Dame on Saturday they have a lesser chance than Notre Dame making the calls for pop-up playoff.
- 21:10[SPEAKER_03]: So they got to fix that somehow.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_03]: So this will be a year where a head-to-head between BYU and Notre Dame will not matter according to the ESPN FPI ranking.
- 21:21[SPEAKER_03]: I wish you, Indiana.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_03]: I thought about this and this is a question that I'm going to throw to you guys.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_03]: I don't remember a better, wide receiver tandem than Charlie Becker Nick Marsh.
- 21:32[SPEAKER_03]: Because I'm not sure who is better between the two.
- 21:36[SPEAKER_03]: I like both a lot.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_03]: Nick Marsh had a monster game last week.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_03]: He finally showed some of the promise that everybody's been talking about.
- 21:43[SPEAKER_03]: If you look up their numbers, it's crazy.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_03]: Becker has 30 for 529 and 8 touchdowns.
- 21:49[SPEAKER_03]: And Marsh has 29 for 528 and 6 touchdowns.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_03]: So a yard separates the two.
- 21:55[SPEAKER_03]: And one catch separates the two, two touchdowns, separates the two.
- 22:03[SPEAKER_03]: in the sport and the best why we're seeing a 10 to Mike can remember since I don't know.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_03]: Andre Johnson, Santana, I'm lost by me.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know, maybe I'm missing somebody.
- 22:15[SPEAKER_03]: Simon.
- 22:15[SPEAKER_03]: I think I'm more.
- 22:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_01]: I think they both ached.
- 22:22[SPEAKER_01]: I appreciate.
- 22:24[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm sure, let's just show you that.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_01]: Courtsignetti appreciate the differences in their game and how well they complement each other.
- 22:33[SPEAKER_01]: I think Becker obviously wins above the rim just to speed.
- 22:40[SPEAKER_01]: He strives three to seven or just, you know, he's extremely good at opening the gap in those strides.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_01]: The hands are obviously outstanding.
- 22:50[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think he's ever dropped a pass.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_01]: He can adjust to the ball in the air.
- 22:53[SPEAKER_01]: I just think he's a really, really good player.
- 22:57[SPEAKER_01]: And Marsh, the funny thing about Nick Marsh is that when he came to Indiana, I'm sure people remember that he kind of turned up, maybe in the Louis Vuitton Cleats, or in a kind of a fancy pair of Cleats and a signal he called him out in the media and staff and said, you know, we just don't do that here.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_01]: and he's everything that a guy that wears Louis Vuitton Crete shouldn't be.
- 23:19[SPEAKER_01]: But I just love the toughness, the perimeter blocking, but also just Harry, like, you know, this is a guy that'll motion down to the formation, even like split zone stuff and take on guys that are £100 heavier than him.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_01]: He's a really good route runner.
- 23:34[SPEAKER_01]: I just love how he uses his body at the top of his stem to just throw defenders out.
- 23:40[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, I'm a big fan of that.
- 23:42[SPEAKER_01]: And I think, you know, Becca will probably end up going higher.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_01]: I think teams might value March more because of what he offers in the run game a little bit more.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, they're an excellent combo.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_01]: And I think they're potentially both, or 20-pick-car, I mean, certainly both.
- 23:55[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think so.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_02]: I probably take some of those Ohio State by the silver room.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_02]: Like we had the the JSN Garrett Wilson crystal lobby year where you can have whichever interchangeable one of those three not included for a top two combination.
- 24:13[SPEAKER_02]: Last year, I would see with Jeremiah Smith and Cardinal Tade wins up being a top five pick in a little thinner draft class at the top, but yeah, I'd probably take some of those overbecker and Nick Marsh at this stage, but yeah, it's up there as far as like just prolific one two bunches and combinations for sure.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, Devonta Smith, J.L.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_03]: Wattell was pretty decent.
- 24:37[SPEAKER_01]: And we're not so old.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_01]: It was pretty special, isn't it?
- 24:41[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah, I find it funny that in the end is defending champion and they get talked about so little they beat Ohio state everybody's going to be talking about them having a chance to repeat and as they should, especially since they beat Ohio state, it's they're going to be a top three seed, you know, there's nothing really essentially stopping them unless they lose to Ohio state in, in the championship game, but we shall see, all right, it's time for our games of the week.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_03]: My game of the week,
- 25:11[SPEAKER_03]: Missing Ole Miss, Austin Simmons, Trinidad Chamblus, excited to watch the game.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_03]: Everybody's been talking about, by the way, we finally have some clarity on our mod Hardy, which is, there is no clarity at all.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_03]: Nobody knows if you will come back this year.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_03]: Doesn't really matter.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_03]: Jemira Taylor, I mean, Jemal Roberts, a different player I'm thinking about.
- 25:33[SPEAKER_03]: Jemal Roberts has back to back 200 yard rushing games.
- 25:37[SPEAKER_03]: uh, Missouri is really good.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_03]: And like I said on the on the on the pod last week, look at their schedule.
- 25:44[SPEAKER_03]: Their schedule is murder.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_03]: They get through that schedule.
- 25:49[SPEAKER_03]: They're a contender to win it all.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_03]: Because that's a gauntlet.
- 25:53[SPEAKER_03]: They got a run.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_03]: And of course, if they get through that schedule, they'll begin the SEC championship game.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_03]: And if they're in the SEC championship game, they're in the college football plough.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_03]: So this is my game.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_03]: of the week.
- 26:05[SPEAKER_03]: Winner, I think, has an inside track to be playing Georgia at the end of the season.
- 26:11[SPEAKER_03]: One of them does still have Alabama on the schedule, so that's that's going to be interesting as well.
- 26:16[SPEAKER_03]: So that's my game of the week.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_03]: I'll be intently watching that one.
- 26:20[SPEAKER_03]: That one's going to be a very, very good game.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_03]: Your game of the week, Simon.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you mentioned it.
- 26:26[SPEAKER_01]: It's the game in Pro though, the Nudge team and BYU.
- 26:30[SPEAKER_01]: Number two versus number eight.
- 26:32[SPEAKER_01]: I love, and I'm that old school, you know, got into the game in the 80s.
- 26:36[SPEAKER_01]: So, kind of BYU was still a really big thing nationwide in terms of, you know, those rivalry between, you know, Level Edwards and Poppy Bowdoin and all those things.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_01]: So,
- 26:47[SPEAKER_01]: But that game in Levello grew Stadium, you know, a Cleopopingers BYU defense with with Isaiah Glasker and they do, I don't even know how to pronounce this, I don't know who who are they, and the fella tells us to seto out of the safety, I think just really instinctive player against CJ Carr and that offense and that running game and now they finally settled on.
- 27:10[SPEAKER_01]: kind of a primary running back for the Irish, I think that would just be really fascinating and then to see what bad backmark can do offensively, which is really exciting about that game, I think, where really, really good, I think the atmosphere will be great, and it'd be great to see the Irish under pressure, and I think you said it early on, Alf, you know, I think be why you kind of have to win that game to be able to cement a place in the college football playoff, but imagine if they do, you know, just imagine what all that will do to the
- 27:38[SPEAKER_01]: The axis of college football, if BYU, you're able to overturn Notre Dame, I suspect that they're probably not going to be able to, but you know, I think that if they end up losing sale a last second field goal or a CJ tar last second touchdown or whatever, then I think that keeps them in the running certainly, but a win would be, you know, would really turn things upside down.
- 27:56[SPEAKER_01]: So to me, lots of exciting games, but that is the one that I really can see what happens.
- 28:02[SPEAKER_02]: You're a game of the week.
- 28:03[SPEAKER_02]: I'm a little mad Simon stole my thunder.
- 28:06[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry, Dave.
- 28:06[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's a Notre Dame BYU, baby.
- 28:09[SPEAKER_02]: That's I love the BYU program for what they they're able to do.
- 28:15[SPEAKER_02]: Kind of that.
- 28:16[SPEAKER_02]: What feels like they have what how many different generations and siblings of guys that the same families come through there.
- 28:23[SPEAKER_02]: So they they've got.
- 28:25[SPEAKER_02]: they've been able to do make a lot of noise and I've got a great little respect for their program and obviously all the NFL talent that Notre Dame has and this test of kind of an independent that has kind of been coasting thus far this season.
- 28:40[SPEAKER_02]: I think they had their closest scare was the North Carolina game and then BYU which
- 28:45[SPEAKER_02]: Simon mentioned their defense and what they've been able to do as far this season and they have they play a physical brand of football.
- 28:52[SPEAKER_02]: So if you like hard hitting style of games, this is going to be one to watch.
- 29:00[SPEAKER_02]: So BYU Notre Dame for me is also like in the week.
- 29:04[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I just, I can't get over USB and they're actually putting it on on the screen over and over again.
- 29:10[SPEAKER_03]: Like they had Josh Pate this morning and they put that on the screen and I'm like, am I reading this correctly that that BYU with a win still has less of a chance to make the college football playoff than Notre Dame, if Notre Dame loses to them.
- 29:25[SPEAKER_03]: So essentially, you're telling BYU, it does not matter.
- 29:28[SPEAKER_03]: You must win, but you can't lose.
- 29:30[SPEAKER_03]: And you're telling Notre Dame,
- 29:33[SPEAKER_03]: So, we shall see, but it's got a fun slate on Saturday, not much on Friday, I'm afraid, which kind of sucks.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_03]: There's been some really nice games.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_03]: The last few weeks on Friday, you even had that Louisville game against FSU, which is very entertaining for at least the first half.
- 29:51[SPEAKER_03]: So, anyway, we'll be back next week.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_03]: It'll be week eight, and we're essentially
- 30:02[SPEAKER_03]: across the the the leagues.
- 30:04[SPEAKER_03]: So that should be fun and we will talk about it next week.
- 30:08[SPEAKER_00]: But till then, thanks for listening to three yards per catty.
