- 1:50Speaker 2: what you're gonna get. Actually, when I came into the
- 1:52Speaker 2: studio this morning, it wasn't rainey, but it's gonna rain
- 1:54Speaker 2: off and all. We have a flash floodwatch in effect,
- 1:56Speaker 2: scattered showers and thunderstorms really through Sunday, and so I'm
- 1:59Speaker 2: gonna rain all the time. But when it does, you
- 2:01Speaker 2: can expect having downpours concentrated in one area for a while.
- 2:05Speaker 2: That's why we have the floodwatch. May start out drying

- 2:35Speaker 2: will stop by. And remember when we talked about a
- 2:37Speaker 2: car show in Winfield that was designed to aid with
- 2:40Speaker 2: the medical bills of ty Loffer. You know his story,
- 2:43Speaker 2: young man student athlete brought everybody to tears at the
- 2:47Speaker 2: state basketball tournament when he not only suited up, but
- 2:49Speaker 2: he played for Winfield. He got to ring the bell
- 2:52Speaker 2: not long ago, and he has been deemed cancer free,
- 2:56Speaker 2: but there's still a lot of bills to go along
- 2:57Speaker 2: with that. So there's going to be a car show
- 3:00Speaker 2: held in Winfield tomorrow and we talked to Kayden Beam
- 3:03Speaker 2: about that a couple of times. They had to postpone it,
- 3:05Speaker 2: but tomorrow they're still going through with it, according to Kate,

- 3:24Speaker 2: by almost teven Interiors in South Charles. Good morning, Angie,
- 3:28Speaker 2: welcome to the show.
- 3:29Speaker 4: Good morning, how how are you?
- 3:31Speaker 2: I'm good and Happy Friday by the.
- 3:32Speaker 4: One oh No I think goods.
- 3:35Speaker 2: As always, our Pet of the week's photo posted a
- 3:38Speaker 2: Dave out on radio, on Facebook and the WCHS network
- 3:41Speaker 2: Facebook pages. Also at Dave a seventy on x Angie
- 3:45Speaker 2: tell us about the dog known as rain Drop.
- 3:48Speaker 4: So rain Drop, How rain Drop acquired his name. He
- 3:53Speaker 4: was actually dumped overnight at our gate back in June
- 3:58Speaker 4: and it was a night where it had the rain
- 4:00Speaker 4: all night long, so Raindrop felt sitting, but he immediately
- 4:05Speaker 4: went to a foster home. She took excellent care of him.
- 4:09Speaker 4: He's great with other dogs. She also has cats, and
- 4:13Speaker 4: she also has kids. He did perfect with everybody. He's
- 4:17Speaker 4: around two months old, getting very close to housebroken, and
- 4:22Speaker 4: he is available for adoption now. He's not neutered yet,
- 4:24Speaker 4: but he will be before you take him home. And
- 4:28Speaker 4: right now his adoptions he is going to be discounted
- 4:30Speaker 4: until the twenty sixth of this month thanks to Bistletet
- 4:34Speaker 4: Foundation with the empty of the shelter's adoption stuff.
- 4:36Speaker 2: Well, he's a beautiful dog, and I mean, I hope
- 4:38Speaker 2: this story turns out nice because I'm just trying to,
- 4:41Speaker 2: you know, get that image in my head. Somebody jumped
- 4:44Speaker 2: the dog off in the pouring rain. The little guy
- 4:46Speaker 2: he's two months old approximately, and I can imagine it.
- 4:50Speaker 2: He probably felt like his whole world was ending there,
- 4:53Speaker 2: I mean, just left out in the rain and so
- 4:56Speaker 2: on and so forth. But luckily you were able to
- 4:58Speaker 2: get him into foster care situation and hopefully we can
- 5:01Speaker 2: get this dog adopted because he is a beautiful dog.
- 5:03Speaker 2: Any idea what kind he is or how big he
- 5:05Speaker 2: may get to be.
- 5:07Speaker 4: As I was guessing, I'd say he's probably going to
- 5:09Speaker 4: be like a fifty sixty pound dog. But I've definitely
- 5:12Speaker 4: been wrong before too. But yeah, yesterday when I was
- 5:16Speaker 4: in our puppy room, I saw him and I was like,
- 5:18Speaker 4: who's this cute little dog? Because that is still here
- 5:21Speaker 4: and available for.
- 5:22Speaker 2: An option, and it's and it's great, and it's great
- 5:26Speaker 2: that you said you can already tell at that age
- 5:28Speaker 2: that he's going to do okay with other dogs, with
- 5:31Speaker 2: kids and apparently with cats too.
- 5:33Speaker 4: Yes, absolutely, his foster mom has all of the above,
- 5:36Speaker 4: and so he's already been socialized with every you know,
- 5:39Speaker 4: everything he possibly can and so we know that he
- 5:43Speaker 4: done in a home previously. He's done great, so he
- 5:45Speaker 4: shouldn't have any issues going forward.
- 5:47Speaker 2: All right, Again that the pictures posted over on my
- 5:49Speaker 2: social media you mentioned the Bissle Pet Foundation Empty the
- 5:52Speaker 2: Shelters thing.
- 5:53Speaker 4: Explain that so Bistle Pet Foundation, Yes, the company same
- 5:59Speaker 4: Bissle that does all the vacuums and shampooers and such.
- 6:02Speaker 4: They have a nationwide adoption event that over you know,
- 6:06Speaker 4: thousands of shelters participate in every single year. It's called
- 6:11Speaker 4: Empty the Shelters and what they do is they will
- 6:14Speaker 4: supplement part of the adoption fee and in turn making
- 6:19Speaker 4: the adoption feed discounted for people that are coming to adopts.
- 6:23Speaker 4: So the only thing you have to do is fill
- 6:26Speaker 4: out a survey for them about your experience adopting and
- 6:29Speaker 4: how much this is, you know, helping you and making
- 6:31Speaker 4: it easier to access pets, and then you know you're golden.
- 6:36Speaker 4: So we are extremely thankful to Kathy Bissel and Distle Pet.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Foundation for doing Indeed, it is a great program. You
- 6:43Speaker 2: get information available on your social media and your website
- 6:46Speaker 2: as well. Can you give us an update on Woodchuck.
- 6:48Speaker 2: Let me tell you the story about Woodchuck. You got
- 6:50Speaker 2: to post it on your Facebook page. He was a
- 6:52Speaker 2: very very little dog and he was found lane in
- 6:55Speaker 2: the road on Greenbrier Street. Now he was micro chipped,
- 6:59Speaker 2: but as of when you posted that, you've not been
- 7:01Speaker 2: able to reach the owners any updates on this dog.
- 7:04Speaker 4: So I haven't gotten anything so far. I'm hoping somebody
- 7:08Speaker 4: saw the post last night so that they were simply
- 7:10Speaker 4: just too busy looking for their pet yesterday to see
- 7:13Speaker 4: it during our business hours. I'm hoping somebody saw it
- 7:16Speaker 4: last night and it's going to be up to date.
- 7:18Speaker 4: But yeah, our humane officer was on his way to
- 7:20Speaker 4: another call and sees this dog laying in the road,
- 7:23Speaker 4: which is a very big red flag, so he brought
- 7:26Speaker 4: him in. He doesn't seem to have any injuries. I
- 7:28Speaker 4: think he was just trying to take a nap at
- 7:30Speaker 4: the wrong place. Really, yeah, definitely.
- 7:34Speaker 2: So, yeah, he was found on Greenbriar Street. As you said,
- 7:36Speaker 2: your humane officer was on another call and just and
- 7:39Speaker 2: he's a he's a very tiny dog too.
- 7:42Speaker 4: Yeah, absolutely, he's very tiny and the way he was laying,
- 7:45Speaker 4: our humane officer thought that something had already happened to him.
- 7:48Speaker 4: So I you know, it's a good thing that he's
- 7:50Speaker 4: with us before anything could have bad could have happened.
- 7:54Speaker 4: But yeah, he's he's microchips. We're just not able to
- 7:57Speaker 4: get in contact with the owner through any of the
- 7:59Speaker 4: way used to contact me.
- 8:00Speaker 2: Well, the picture's posted and we've done we've done miracles before.
- 8:04Speaker 2: So the picture is posted over on the Cannell Charlestey
- 8:07Speaker 2: Main Association facebook page. If you get that and share
- 8:10Speaker 2: it and hopefully we can get it back to its owner.
- 8:13Speaker 2: We had a text here of somebody asking I don't
- 8:15Speaker 2: know if you know this off the top of your head,
- 8:16Speaker 2: but I do know that you post these things from
- 8:18Speaker 2: time to talk time to time which dogs and cats
- 8:21Speaker 2: have been there the longest at the shelter.
- 8:24Speaker 4: So I do believe our current longest president is going
- 8:26Speaker 4: to be Lisa Frank for dogs, she has been there
- 8:29Speaker 4: almost a year, if not a year already, so she
- 8:34Speaker 4: is a senior dog. And then the longest resident for cats,
- 8:38Speaker 4: I do believe is going to be I don't actually
- 8:42Speaker 4: know that because our cats typically get adopted technickly. Yeah,
- 8:46Speaker 4: our longest resident for dogs is about a year, and
- 8:48Speaker 4: then the longest resident for cats you're going to be
- 8:50Speaker 4: looking at probably a month.
- 8:51Speaker 2: So okay. Well, and the fact that that dog that
- 8:54Speaker 2: you mentioned is a senior dog, and we know not
- 8:56Speaker 2: a lot of people want the senior dogs because harder
- 8:59Speaker 2: to teach them things, and sometimes they come with medical
- 9:02Speaker 2: issues or whatever. But that's not always the case. You know,
- 9:06Speaker 2: we wanted to try to get all our pets adopted
- 9:08Speaker 2: up there, but I really wish people would consider adopting
- 9:10Speaker 2: more senior dogs, Angie.
- 9:13Speaker 4: I absolutely I do too, And I also I really
- 9:16Speaker 4: envy the people that have no pets at home. That's
- 9:19Speaker 4: a very hard thing to achieve, and nowadays finding somebody
- 9:23Speaker 4: that has no other pets at home and can really
- 9:25Speaker 4: take anything in the building. So every animal that we
- 9:29Speaker 4: have has their quirks, and so those people again, thank
- 9:33Speaker 4: you for coming up to us and choosing to adopt
- 9:36Speaker 4: a pet from us.
- 9:37Speaker 2: Now, you guys got a new member of the team.
- 9:39Speaker 2: I know you posted about on your social media. Got
- 9:41Speaker 2: a new doc coming, Yes.
- 9:44Speaker 4: So doctor Koppola. She actually started her first day this week.
- 9:48Speaker 4: We are excited to get her, make her an official
- 9:51Speaker 4: member of the KHA family. And she's from Pittsburgh, so
- 9:55Speaker 4: we're excited to welcome her to West Virginia. But she
- 9:59Speaker 4: has been having a last this first week. She's seen
- 10:01Speaker 4: a lot of stuff that comes through the shelter doors
- 10:04Speaker 4: that you typically don't see in a vet's office. She's
- 10:08Speaker 4: having a good time. And as far as fix Charleston
- 10:11Speaker 4: and it's reopening, we are shooting for probably around September
- 10:15Speaker 4: that should happen, but I can update officially once we
- 10:19Speaker 4: get closer.
- 10:19Speaker 3: To the day.
- 10:21Speaker 2: Sounds good, you guys out and about anywhere.
- 10:22Speaker 4: This weekend, Angie, I will be out of town, so
- 10:25Speaker 4: we are going to just stay home if you will.
- 10:29Speaker 2: Well with the weather. I can't say I blame you.
- 10:31Speaker 2: And we should be getting close to time for Kegs
- 10:33Speaker 2: for Canones right.
- 10:34Speaker 4: Kegs for Canones is coming up at the end of August,
- 10:37Speaker 4: so we are getting really excited for that. That's one
- 10:40Speaker 4: of my favorite events.
- 10:41Speaker 2: Is I love it. We're always there our sister station
- 10:43Speaker 2: ninety eight seven the Mountain is always there, and we'll
- 10:45Speaker 2: be there again this year once we get everything squared away. Angie.
- 10:48Speaker 2: As always a pleasure to have you on the show,
- 10:50Speaker 2: and we'll talk next week. Thanks a lot.
- 10:52Speaker 4: Absolutely sounds good. I have a good one.
- 10:54Speaker 2: Our almost heven interiors adopt me. Please put it the
- 10:56Speaker 2: week as A dog by the name of rain Drop,
- 10:59Speaker 2: two months 's sold, dropped off at the gates of
- 11:02Speaker 2: the shelter in the pouring rain. The staff got there
- 11:06Speaker 2: and saw this little guy just walking around in the rain,
- 11:09Speaker 2: and so that's why they named him rain Drop. It's
- 11:11Speaker 2: two months old. You could probably change his name. A
- 11:12Speaker 2: great thing about this dog, he's an absolutely beautiful dog.
- 11:15Speaker 2: Gover to my social media Dave Allen Radio on Facebook
- 11:18Speaker 2: or the WCCHS Network Facebook page, or at Dave A
- 11:21Speaker 2: seventy on X. Take a look at this dog. Beautiful
- 11:23Speaker 2: black and white dog. He's kid friendly, he has been
- 11:27Speaker 2: in a foster situation. He did well with cats, and
- 11:29Speaker 2: he did well with other dogs. I mean other than
- 11:31Speaker 2: making your dinner, I don't know what else he could
- 11:33Speaker 2: do for you. So this is a beautiful dog. Go
- 11:35Speaker 2: check it out. And his adoption fee is discounted as
- 11:39Speaker 2: part of his Angie said the Bistle Pet Foundation MPY.
- 11:41Speaker 2: The shelters event through the twenty sixth rain Drop is
- 11:43Speaker 2: are dog folks do your magic. Let's get this dog

- 15:34Speaker 2: looking at wen We're gonna to be able to do
- 15:36Speaker 2: this outside tonight?
- 15:37Speaker 8: Well, like you mentioned earlier, today's sort of a guessing
- 15:41Speaker 8: game in terms of the weather, and so we're watching
- 15:43Speaker 8: it closely. We're in communication with Brian as well. He's
- 15:47Speaker 8: our go to when we have questions about Live on
- 15:49Speaker 8: the Levee. And as you said, it's kind of all
- 15:51Speaker 8: day long, certainly going to get some rain this afternoon,
- 15:54Speaker 8: and it's kind of a guessing game, so we're working
- 15:56Speaker 8: on it. We got to make a decision quick, you know,
- 15:58Speaker 8: it's hard to make it decision because it's got to
- 16:02Speaker 8: be made early.
- 16:02Speaker 2: It's an all day production. Yeah, and people, this is
- 16:05Speaker 2: not just I mean any of the acts that come in.
- 16:07Speaker 2: This is not just you know, a guy with a
- 16:09Speaker 2: guitar that can just go play anyway that you got
- 16:11Speaker 2: the sound, and they have their own stuff that they
- 16:14Speaker 2: come in and they've got certain requirements, and so it's
- 16:17Speaker 2: it's difficult, it is.
- 16:18Speaker 8: And I mean I wish we had the luxury of
- 16:20Speaker 8: waiting till six thirty PM when the music starts and
- 16:23Speaker 8: saying it's beautiful, we can have it outside. We don't
- 16:25Speaker 8: have that luxury because our load in starts at eleven am,
- 16:28Speaker 8: our band starts sound checking at one pm, and then
- 16:31Speaker 8: the opener sound checks right after that. So unfortunately, we
- 16:34Speaker 8: have to make a decision with the information that we
- 16:36Speaker 8: have early in the morning that make the best decision
- 16:39Speaker 8: that we can. So we do have an indoor contingency plan,
- 16:43Speaker 8: and I would say here, within the next hour or two,
- 16:45Speaker 8: we're going to have to pull the trigger on whichever
- 16:48Speaker 8: one we're going to go with.
- 16:50Speaker 2: Yeah, because it's not like you can be like at
- 16:52Speaker 2: four thirty or five o'clock and you go, okay, we're
- 16:54Speaker 2: going indoors, right, you know, it doesn't it doesn't work
- 16:56Speaker 2: that way. Now, So this is as a moving target.
- 16:58Speaker 8: The stage needs to be set up either indoors or
- 17:00Speaker 8: outdoors around here.
- 17:01Speaker 2: And if you did move it in, because you've had
- 17:02Speaker 2: to do that in the past, it just goes over
- 17:04Speaker 2: to the coliseum.
- 17:04Speaker 8: Yeah, we've been able to work with them, and that's
- 17:06Speaker 8: the other thing. We've got to work around their schedule
- 17:08Speaker 8: as we look at whether or not we can move
- 17:10Speaker 8: it indoors. So tonight, the theater at the Coliseum and
- 17:12Speaker 8: Convention Center, which is a phenomenal music hall, great equipment
- 17:16Speaker 8: is available, and so if it does move indoors, it's
- 17:18Speaker 8: most likely going to be at the theater, the little
- 17:21Speaker 8: theater over at the Coliseum.
- 17:22Speaker 2: And this decision should be made ben you're saying, probably
- 17:24Speaker 2: within the next hour or two or something like that,
- 17:26Speaker 2: and you'll we'll of course have it on the air,
- 17:28Speaker 2: all of our stations will have it out there, and
- 17:30Speaker 2: you'll have it on the alive on the levee.
- 17:32Speaker 8: Yeah, noon is the drop dead deadline because if we
- 17:35Speaker 8: do move it inside, not only do we have to
- 17:37Speaker 8: let our people that are setting up the equipment know,
- 17:39Speaker 8: we've got to let the Colisseum know so they can
- 17:40Speaker 8: get the place staffed for the evening, so noon is
- 17:42Speaker 8: the drop dead deadline, but probably before then we'll be
- 17:45Speaker 8: able to make.
- 17:46Speaker 2: Our best educated guests that we can. Well, I'll tell
- 17:49Speaker 2: you I've been doing this segment with Strawn for a
- 17:51Speaker 2: couple of years now, and I mean literally, there's only
- 17:55Speaker 2: we went. I think I think it was he would
- 17:57Speaker 2: know better than I, but I think we went two
- 17:59Speaker 2: summers in a row that we did not have to
- 18:01Speaker 2: have any sort of delays or anything like that, and
- 18:05Speaker 2: then we had had some had to be moved indoors
- 18:07Speaker 2: or canceled or whatever. But I mean, you're dealing with
- 18:09Speaker 2: mother nature. Man, There's only so much you can do.
- 18:11Speaker 8: Yeah, we're just fortunate we have the ability to move
- 18:14Speaker 8: it indoors if we want. And tonight's show is just
- 18:16Speaker 8: going to be incredible. It's one of the ones. I'm
- 18:18Speaker 8: most excited.
- 18:19Speaker 2: That's what I understand. It's Chris Jacobs along with the
- 18:22Speaker 2: local honeys. Why are you so excited about these folks?
- 18:24Speaker 9: Oh?
- 18:24Speaker 8: Chris Jacobs is phenomenal well known musician for casual listeners
- 18:29Speaker 8: and music. Maybe haven't heard of them, but people who
- 18:31Speaker 8: are avid music fans know the name Chris Jacobs. He's
- 18:35Speaker 8: toured with some major acts. He's opened for Sturgel Simpson,
- 18:38Speaker 8: He's opened for Steve Wynnwood his most recent album in
- 18:42Speaker 8: twenty twenty four. One of these days, he's got some
- 18:44Speaker 8: major artists that everybody knows that appeared with him. So
- 18:47Speaker 8: he's one of these musicians that the people that I
- 18:51Speaker 8: listened to listen to Chris Jacobs yees.
- 18:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 18:54Speaker 2: And that's really interesting because when you interview and I've
- 18:57Speaker 2: interviewed a lot of different rock and country performers over
- 19:00Speaker 2: the years, when you talk to them and you say,
- 19:02Speaker 2: who are you listening to, and nine times out of ten,
- 19:05Speaker 2: it's not going to be somebody that that's going to
- 19:08Speaker 2: be major mainstream. You know, it's going to be somebody
- 19:11Speaker 2: that And that's how you know that they're good, because
- 19:14Speaker 2: actual musicians are fans of them, not just casual people
- 19:18Speaker 2: like me. I mean, they're right, they're actual musicians are
- 19:21Speaker 2: are fans of them.
- 19:22Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, that's what happened. That's how we got the
- 19:24Speaker 8: gig with Steve Winwood. Steve Winwood is obviously a Rock
- 19:27Speaker 8: and Roll Hall of Famer, A legend saw him live
- 19:30Speaker 8: and said, I want you to come open for me,
- 19:32Speaker 8: and so he did.
- 19:33Speaker 2: He's open for him.
- 19:34Speaker 8: His most recent album, he has guest appearances from Billy Strings,
- 19:37Speaker 8: who sold out the coliseum getting Ready to play here.
- 19:40Speaker 8: He's featured on his album The Infamous String Dusters, which
- 19:45Speaker 8: is a well known bluegrass band, is the backing band
- 19:47Speaker 8: on his album. So this is this is a legit
- 19:50Speaker 8: musician in the vein of Jason isbel or Chris Stapleton
- 19:54Speaker 8: type of blues Americana, phenomenal singer, songwriter, phenomenal guitar player.
- 19:59Speaker 8: So this is oh going to be one of the
- 20:01Speaker 8: best shows of the year.
- 20:02Speaker 2: I can tell man, you're excited about it. I am,
- 20:04Speaker 2: because you know, Strawn texts me earlier this week and
- 20:06Speaker 2: he said, hey, I'm not going to be able to
- 20:07Speaker 2: make it. I'm going to send Ben in. And I thought, okay, well,
- 20:11Speaker 2: with all due respect, and why are you sending the
- 20:13Speaker 2: city manager in? Well, now I know why he sent
- 20:15Speaker 2: the city manager in, because you like these guys hype guy. Well,
- 20:18Speaker 2: I'm a live music fan. I'm an avid music fan.
- 20:22Speaker 8: I do help book live on the levee and I
- 20:24Speaker 8: talked to Jim regularly about it. So it's one of
- 20:28Speaker 8: the great parts of my job is being able to
- 20:30Speaker 8: come out and promote some of these events. But I'm
- 20:32Speaker 8: a music fan and I've lived in Charleston now since
- 20:35Speaker 8: two thousand and eight, and since then, I go to
- 20:38Speaker 8: Live on the.
- 20:38Speaker 2: Levee, long before I had this job.
- 20:42Speaker 8: If it's a Friday night and I'm in town, then
- 20:44Speaker 8: I'm live on the Levee, regardless of who's planned. Because
- 20:47Speaker 8: you can learn about new artists. It's always fun. The
- 20:50Speaker 8: community coming together is really what it's all about, as
- 20:54Speaker 8: much as the music and so and raising.
- 20:56Speaker 2: Money for those charities, correct Jim always talks about, And
- 20:59Speaker 2: it's just a there's always food available, there's always drink available.
- 21:02Speaker 2: It's it's a it's a good it's a really really
- 21:05Speaker 2: good time and you can't argue with the price. That's
- 21:08Speaker 2: exactly right. Free music.
- 21:09Speaker 1: You know.
- 21:09Speaker 8: We've been doing it, uh every Friday since since we
- 21:13Speaker 8: started in May, and of May we've got four more
- 21:18Speaker 8: Live on the Levee shows. All of them are really good.
- 21:20Speaker 8: So four more weeks of Live on the Levee and
- 21:22Speaker 8: then right after that we go into multifest so free
- 21:24Speaker 8: music on the Levee throughout the whole summer. It's just
- 21:27Speaker 8: an incredible thing that I don't think that. I hope
- 21:32Speaker 8: people don't take it for granted, because not every city,
- 21:34Speaker 8: not every municipality, has this opportunity, and it's something special
- 21:37Speaker 8: that Charleston's been doing for city.
- 21:39Speaker 2: City is a lot larger than Charleston don't have things
- 21:41Speaker 2: like this. I mean some do, but but but a
- 21:43Speaker 2: lot of no where you from.
- 21:44Speaker 8: Originally born and raised in Huntington, West Ncia, they got
- 21:47Speaker 8: that far away. My parents are still there. Spent some
- 21:49Speaker 8: time in Morgantown for for college and law school, and
- 21:53Speaker 8: have been living in Charleston pretty much ever since.
- 21:55Speaker 1: Then.
- 21:55Speaker 2: What was it that appealed to you about Charleston? I mean,
- 21:59Speaker 2: I know, obviously this where the job was, but there's
- 22:01Speaker 2: more to it than that. I mean, what is it
- 22:03Speaker 2: you like about Charleston so much?
- 22:05Speaker 8: I mean, I just feel like Charleston is a great
- 22:09Speaker 8: small I say small. It's the big city in West Virginia,
- 22:13Speaker 8: but its small. It's got that small town field. But
- 22:16Speaker 8: there's just so much happening all the time. You're going
- 22:19Speaker 8: to talk to the dirty birds here in a minute.
- 22:21Speaker 8: I mean, we love the baseball, we love the music scene,
- 22:24Speaker 8: we love just the people, the community. It's a great city.
- 22:28Speaker 8: I love living here. My wife is from just up
- 22:32Speaker 8: the road in Pinch, West Virginia. She's lived here for
- 22:34Speaker 8: a long time as well. So we just love Charleston.
- 22:36Speaker 8: We're here for good and we're excited in the direction
- 22:40Speaker 8: that things are heading here.
- 22:41Speaker 2: But on your city manager had here for a moment, Ben,
- 22:44Speaker 2: I want to say hats off to the city for
- 22:45Speaker 2: the regatta and the two fifty venue Capital as well,
- 22:48Speaker 2: because you had those two major events half mile apart,
- 22:52Speaker 2: and it was a big ask of everybody involved, from
- 22:56Speaker 2: police to emergency services and whatever, and it went off.
- 22:59Speaker 8: With It was phenomenal, really a phenomenal weekend. I mean,
- 23:04Speaker 8: all of us at the city are still just sort
- 23:05Speaker 8: of just just thrilled with the way that it went down.
- 23:11Speaker 8: As you said, the two events happening at once turned
- 23:13Speaker 8: out to be just great. We had so many people
- 23:15Speaker 8: coming in town at the regatta taking advantage of the shuttle,
- 23:19Speaker 8: the free shuttle service that KRT offered. I talked to
- 23:22Speaker 8: a couple from Columbus who came down and they came
- 23:25Speaker 8: down for the regatta and wanted to see the live music,
- 23:28Speaker 8: and they said, we heard there's something going on at
- 23:30Speaker 8: the Capitol as well. I said, absolutely, the shuttles right
- 23:32Speaker 8: here and they went to the Capitol and enjoyed that day.
- 23:36Speaker 8: It really worked out great for everybody, and as you said,
- 23:41Speaker 8: went off relatively without a hitch.
- 23:43Speaker 2: The weather was hot. Well yeah, you can't really as
- 23:45Speaker 2: we said at the beginning of the segment, man, you
- 23:46Speaker 2: can't really do anything about that.
- 23:48Speaker 8: No, but the crowds really showed up for both events,
- 23:51Speaker 8: which is a good thing for the city and we're
- 23:53Speaker 8: just thrilled with everybody coming out. Saturday night at the
- 23:56Speaker 8: Regatta with Brett Michaels was just one of the largest
- 23:58Speaker 8: crowds we've ever seen since the rebirth of the regatta.
- 24:02Speaker 8: Friday as well with Bobby Brown and that crew, and
- 24:05Speaker 8: Thursday with Melissa Ethridge and want to Own a Judd.
- 24:08Speaker 8: It was just three great nights of music, and.
- 24:10Speaker 2: Of course you had to battle the weather on Sunday
- 24:13Speaker 2: night with Tonic and Vertical Horizon, but they managed to
- 24:15Speaker 2: get through that too. They did. The rain came down
- 24:17Speaker 2: during Vertical Horizon, which made it a special night. They
- 24:20Speaker 2: had a great time as well. And when that many
- 24:23Speaker 2: people turn out, that many people have that much fun
- 24:25Speaker 2: and we don't have any serious injuries or incidents, then
- 24:28Speaker 2: I call it a success. So what else is keeping
- 24:32Speaker 2: you busy these days in your city manager role? What
- 24:35Speaker 2: are you doing? Well?
- 24:36Speaker 8: You know, every day is different, and every day I
- 24:39Speaker 8: don't know what's going to what to expect when I
- 24:41Speaker 8: get in. But we've got some big projects we're working
- 24:43Speaker 8: on that I know you've talked to the mayor about regularly.
- 24:46Speaker 8: We're working on a police headquarters that the internal demolition
- 24:50Speaker 8: on that building is underway, the designs are underway. Can't
- 24:53Speaker 8: wait for that project. Our police department is really excited
- 24:56Speaker 8: about it. We're working on the Capital Connector project that's
- 24:59Speaker 8: going to revitalize three point two miles of the Canal River.
- 25:04Speaker 8: We're working on all kinds of different things. It's and
- 25:07Speaker 8: and those are the big things, but my day to
- 25:09Speaker 8: day job is also taking care of a lot of
- 25:11Speaker 8: little things, little fires that come up.
- 25:13Speaker 2: The things that don't necessarily make the headlines, you know,
- 25:15Speaker 2: but are still very important.
- 25:17Speaker 8: That's exactly right. Yes, we're renovating our fire stations. Five
- 25:21Speaker 8: of our fire stations are receiving major renovations. Two of
- 25:25Speaker 8: those are completed and they're just incredible. Two more of
- 25:28Speaker 8: them are are underway now. And so every day is different,
- 25:32Speaker 8: and then something will pop up. There'll be a water
- 25:34Speaker 8: leak at one of our buildings and we got to
- 25:37Speaker 8: fix that. So it's an exciting job that you never
- 25:40Speaker 8: know what's what's going to come my way every day,
- 25:43Speaker 8: and that's why I like going into work.
- 25:44Speaker 2: All right, And the next time you're here, I'm going
- 25:47Speaker 2: to have the correct pronunciation of your name, Ben, misshu
- 25:51Speaker 2: Mi show. That's good, Michelle Ben Michell show, that's right. Yeah,
- 25:55Speaker 2: I've been mispronouncing it all this time. Say I didn't
- 25:57Speaker 2: nobody know. Nobody ever corrected. Yeah, well, I appreciate you.
- 25:59Speaker 8: Let me come in, and I hope your listeners come
- 26:02Speaker 8: out tonight because, like I said, I think this is
- 26:04Speaker 8: an act that you will not regret being at. You're
- 26:06Speaker 8: gonna it's really high quality music, high quality musicians, whether
- 26:10Speaker 8: it's indoor or outdoor. The indoor space is lovely what
- 26:13Speaker 8: they've done over at the Little Theater in terms of
- 26:16Speaker 8: improving that sound system and improving that space. If you
- 26:18Speaker 8: haven't been over there for a while and that's where
- 26:21Speaker 8: it ends up being, come out and check it out.
- 26:23Speaker 2: It's going to be a great show. All right. Again,
- 26:25Speaker 2: it's Chris Jacobs along with the Local Honeys and six
- 26:29Speaker 2: point thirty tonight. Hopefully, fingers crossed, it'll be outdoors like
- 26:33Speaker 2: it's supposed to be. I had ad Riverfront Park to
- 26:35Speaker 2: Moses Audi Group stage, but if not, it's going to
- 26:37Speaker 2: move inside at the Colosseum of the Theater at the
- 26:40Speaker 2: Colosseuma Convention Center. We should have an announcement on that
- 26:42Speaker 2: with the next hour or two. I think that's right.
- 26:44Speaker 2: We'll have it on the air, it'll be on the
- 26:46Speaker 2: Live on the Levy page, it'll be on the City
- 26:48Speaker 2: of Charleston page. You won't know that it's been moved.
- 26:51Speaker 2: I mean, you won't miss the announcement. I should say absolutely.
- 26:54Speaker 8: Yeah, we've got great We appreciate all the partners in
- 26:56Speaker 8: the media, sharing sharing it. We've only had to move
- 26:58Speaker 8: it indoors once. That was the very for this year.
- 27:01Speaker 8: It was the very first show, and the word spread
- 27:03Speaker 8: quickly and the crowd turned out. And I don't want
- 27:06Speaker 8: to sleep on the Local Honeys the opening act for
- 27:08Speaker 8: the We've had as many people excited about the Local
- 27:11Speaker 8: Honeys the opening act as they are about Chris Jacobs.
- 27:14Speaker 8: They're a duo from eastern Kentucky that just phenomenal melodies
- 27:20Speaker 8: and harmonies on their music. Two females who both met
- 27:23Speaker 8: at Morehead State University and their Appalachian music program really great.
- 27:29Speaker 8: If you haven't caught the local honeys, they're great. They
- 27:31Speaker 8: actually just performed at the America two fifty event at
- 27:36Speaker 8: the State Capitol last week. They were one of the
- 27:37Speaker 8: performers there and they're back in town tonight to open
- 27:40Speaker 8: up for Chris Jacobs.
- 27:42Speaker 2: It's gonna be great, looking forward to it, and three more.
- 27:45Speaker 8: I don't mean to interrupt, but the next three weeks
- 27:47Speaker 8: are tonight and the next three weeks are just all
- 27:50Speaker 8: going to be bangers.
- 27:51Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 27:51Speaker 2: I think it's next week. That's when we're doing the
- 27:53Speaker 2: Zeppelin tribute with John Yes. Yeah, that's going to be
- 27:57Speaker 2: a big crowd. People are excited about that. I think
- 27:59Speaker 2: are one of our sisters. So we're down there every week,
- 28:01Speaker 2: one of us is. But ninety eight seven The Mouth
- 28:04Speaker 2: and Wild and Wonderful Classic Rock will be down there
- 28:06Speaker 2: next and I think tonight I think, of course, like
- 28:08Speaker 2: I said, our people are all over. Anytime there's music,
- 28:11Speaker 2: food or drink, we're all over. But I think I
- 28:14Speaker 2: think I heard. If I'm wrong, I'll correct this. The
- 28:16Speaker 2: WWK TV is gonna be a big part of Live
- 28:19Speaker 2: on the Levee tonight, So my tag team partner in
- 28:21Speaker 2: the afternoon, Amanda might be there. Don't know for sure,
- 28:24Speaker 2: but I know that the thirteen people will be there. Yep,
- 28:27Speaker 2: that's exactly right.
- 28:27Speaker 8: We have media sponsors, media participants every single week that
- 28:31Speaker 8: come out and take turns being our partners, and I
- 28:34Speaker 8: believe tonight is WWK.
- 28:35Speaker 2: So all right, looking forward to it.
- 28:37Speaker 8: Hey man, it's been a pleasure. Heaving the show man, Dave,
- 28:39Speaker 8: I'm once again thanks for having me. Thanks to your listeners.
- 28:42Speaker 8: I hope to see you out tonight at Live on
- 28:44Speaker 8: the Levee, and I'm just excited to be here, all right.
- 28:47Speaker 8: I listened to you all the time, so now I've
- 28:48Speaker 8: got to see your studios in person.
- 28:50Speaker 2: I appreciate it. You listen on purpose. No, some days
- 28:54Speaker 2: I don't even listen to the show, just what's on
- 28:56Speaker 2: my radio. I got you, and we like that. I
- 28:59Speaker 2: appreciate it. Man, Thanks a lot. Hang out with me.

- 29:24Speaker 2: because they're doing the Pepperoni Role Festival. That's one of
- 29:28Speaker 2: the things that is going on this weekend at the ballpark.

- 32:04Speaker 2: You know, I'm excited.
- 32:05Speaker 11: I mean, it is a big weekend, it is, but
- 32:07Speaker 11: I'm just excited when Friday's here because we have great
- 32:09Speaker 11: things at the ballpark. Starting off on a Friday.
- 32:11Speaker 2: It's great, all right. And so what is tonight you're
- 32:14Speaker 2: doing like a little island. It's called birds in Paradiseadise,
- 32:18Speaker 2: that's right.
- 32:19Speaker 11: So our players will come out in a uniform that's
- 32:22Speaker 11: got the Ornidendrin design on it for you know, the
- 32:25Speaker 11: shirt of the State Flower, of course, and they'll take
- 32:27Speaker 11: the field and we'll play some like great Margueriteville type
- 32:30Speaker 11: music and have a fun time and we're excited about
- 32:34Speaker 11: that to kick it off. And then of course tomorrow
- 32:37Speaker 11: the pepperonni roll contest as we've all been talking about
- 32:40Speaker 11: here recently. And Ben, who was just here, you and
- 32:44Speaker 11: I spoke yesterday about peperonni rolls. Can you have cheese
- 32:48Speaker 11: in it?
- 32:49Speaker 2: Well? And he said yes, he said yes. But I mean,
- 32:52Speaker 2: you know, as long as Tony the Taylor continues to
- 32:56Speaker 2: sponsor this text line, I'm going to say you cannot
- 32:59Speaker 2: have cheese and a pepperin Okay, all right, because Tony
- 33:02Speaker 2: is the man there you go. So, but Tony should
- 33:05Speaker 2: come out and try some of them. You don't want to,
- 33:07Speaker 2: I'm telling you, because if he sees one that does,
- 33:10Speaker 2: if he sees one that does not meet up to
- 33:12Speaker 2: his specification. He's just gonna start kicking tables open. Well,
- 33:16Speaker 2: it'll make for great content. Okay, wait, well yeah, when
- 33:19Speaker 2: I get a call say hey, I'm in jail, can
- 33:21Speaker 2: you come get me out? And I'm like no, I
- 33:23Speaker 2: cannot stay there.
- 33:25Speaker 13: All right?
- 33:26Speaker 2: But what so everything is? This is what times is?
- 33:28Speaker 2: Everything that's right?
- 33:29Speaker 11: So it's it's tomorrow. It's yeah, Saturday, July eleventh. Of course,
- 33:32Speaker 11: that's tomorrow. And it's from five thirty to eight o'clock
- 33:35Speaker 11: at the ballpark when the gates open.
- 33:36Speaker 2: So explain to us how that works.
- 33:38Speaker 11: Because this is an actual competition, actual competition. We have
- 33:41Speaker 11: three categories.
- 33:42Speaker 2: Okay, if you wanted to enter it, as far as
- 33:44Speaker 2: is it too late for that, it's nope. I have
- 33:46Speaker 2: the end of today.
- 33:47Speaker 11: So if you want to do it, yep, call the
- 33:49Speaker 11: ballpark or give me a holler through my email. You
- 33:53Speaker 11: can find it online at dirty birds baseball dot com.
- 33:55Speaker 2: You can also call.
- 33:56Speaker 11: Us at three or four three four four bats to
- 33:59Speaker 11: two eight seven basically and give us a call and say,
- 34:02Speaker 11: if you want to enter I you need to make
- 34:03Speaker 11: about two hundred to two hundred and fifty pepperonni rolls. Generally,
- 34:08Speaker 11: what happens is if you make the regular size, someone
- 34:10Speaker 11: will slice it up like four ways to make sure
- 34:12Speaker 11: that you're giving out some tastings because it's important to
- 34:15Speaker 11: have enough tastings.
- 34:16Speaker 2: Because you get to vote for your people's choice.
- 34:19Speaker 11: So there's a people's choice category, there's a judges category,
- 34:22Speaker 11: and then there's a nice category called most Unique.
- 34:26Speaker 2: So if you have a unique pepperining.
- 34:28Speaker 11: Role as long as it doesn't have a marinaria in it,
- 34:29Speaker 11: because we're not having a cal zone contest, but you know,
- 34:33Speaker 11: primarily enter anything good in a pepperonni roll will be
- 34:37Speaker 11: a most Unique.
- 34:37Speaker 2: So didn't you tell me that the Bucket won last year?
- 34:40Speaker 11: Yeah, the Buckets won three of the last four on
- 34:43Speaker 11: the big shout out the folks at the Bucket. Yeah, definitely,
- 34:46Speaker 11: but you know, and almost Heavenly Rolls had won the
- 34:51Speaker 11: year previous two years previous to that, So it's great
- 34:54Speaker 11: competition out there. There's a lot of good roles that
- 34:57Speaker 11: are out there. We got about seven eight vendors that'll
- 34:59Speaker 11: be out there and there they're some of the best
- 35:01Speaker 11: ones that we have, so pretty excited to have people
- 35:04Speaker 11: come out and get us. From five thirty to eight
- 35:06Speaker 11: o'clock primarily as soon as you come into the gate,
- 35:09Speaker 11: the first four hundred people that come in will get
- 35:12Speaker 11: two dog bones, and that's voting bones basically.
- 35:15Speaker 2: For your best for the People's Choice award.
- 35:17Speaker 11: And you get two tickets for tastings to buy extra
- 35:19Speaker 11: tickets to make sure you have all the tastings.
- 35:22Speaker 2: It's five dollars and.
- 35:23Speaker 11: The money will go to the Moose International Family, to
- 35:27Speaker 11: the kids at Moose.
- 35:28Speaker 2: Heart, which is a fantastic organization. It is yeah, and
- 35:31Speaker 2: that's and and that's and then what do you got
- 35:33Speaker 2: going on on Sunday?
- 35:34Speaker 11: That's try Sunday we have the Blue Gang from the
- 35:38Speaker 11: Little It's a kid's day, so Blue the mascot will
- 35:41Speaker 11: be there. And so I think he's got his friend Bingo.
- 35:44Speaker 11: I think the other one is I can't remember me.
- 35:47Speaker 11: I thought you watched that show. You don't watch that show?
- 35:49Speaker 11: Oh too too much news watching?
- 35:51Speaker 7: Are you?
- 35:52Speaker 12: No?
- 35:53Speaker 2: Too too much? Samford Son? Andy' that's what that's my time?
- 35:57Speaker 2: But no, I don't know anything about Blue didn't. Matter
- 36:01Speaker 2: of fact, the subject of Blue came up on a
- 36:04Speaker 2: previous show and I had to get with Coop and say,
- 36:07Speaker 2: what's a blue? And and so he has a kid,
- 36:10Speaker 2: and so yeah, he explained it to me. So it
- 36:12Speaker 2: was very popular last year. They were there all day.
- 36:14Speaker 11: I'm sorry for our poor you know, the guys in
- 36:17Speaker 11: the mascot. It was very warm that day, but they're
- 36:20Speaker 11: gonna be there. We're going to do it again for
- 36:22Speaker 11: the kids, and it'll be a beautiful Sunday.
- 36:24Speaker 2: And you're playing Long Island. We are Long Island. Yes,
- 36:27Speaker 2: so ducks.
- 36:28Speaker 11: The ducks kind of appropriate with the weather. That's true,
- 36:31Speaker 11: very true. And again rayn or Shine, we just continue
- 36:33Speaker 11: to play.
- 36:34Speaker 2: Yeah, because you said, didn't you tell me that the
- 36:35Speaker 2: first year you did the Pepperoni role contracts over the rain?
- 36:39Speaker 11: It did, and it had a beautiful turnout, tons of
- 36:41Speaker 11: people and we have tents, you know, so people were
- 36:43Speaker 11: still there. People want to participate, people want to know
- 36:45Speaker 11: what's a good Pepperoni roll. So we're very excited. And
- 36:48Speaker 11: of course with me at Half Fun WV, I'll be
- 36:50Speaker 11: making a video about it. And I've made videos of
- 36:52Speaker 11: the last three, so we're making another video about this
- 36:54Speaker 11: one as well.
- 36:55Speaker 2: All right, now, how the second half of the season's
- 36:58Speaker 2: already started, yes, And how the bird's been doing. They
- 37:02Speaker 2: show it a little bit in the first half, but
- 37:03Speaker 2: but they've showed that they've showed some signs.
- 37:06Speaker 11: Of life here. Yes, yes, our offense is pretty good.
- 37:09Speaker 11: We lead the league in home runs, which is great.
- 37:12Speaker 11: We have one hundred and five home runs now. And
- 37:14Speaker 11: also in stolen bases, we basically lead the I think
- 37:18Speaker 11: the Ducks actually are second place, but we lead them
- 37:21Speaker 11: by over fifty stolen bases, so we definitely in the offensive.
- 37:26Speaker 11: Then we always provide a big, powerful punch. However, our
- 37:29Speaker 11: defense is still trying to get you know, its wheels going.
- 37:33Speaker 11: So we're you know, we're doing all right. We're gonna
- 37:36Speaker 11: start the second half and we're gonna we're gonna do well.
- 37:38Speaker 2: I think, well, I can tell you, you know, we don't
- 37:40Speaker 2: know what the weather is going to be. Well, it's
- 37:42Speaker 2: going to rain. We just don't know. What Brian tells me, Well,
- 37:44Speaker 2: we just don't know. It's gonna be one of those
- 37:46Speaker 2: things where like this area gets you know, we're pouring down,
- 37:49Speaker 2: pours in the next area doesn't necessarily that's why we
- 37:51Speaker 2: have the floodwatch us, right, but there are going to
- 37:54Speaker 2: be breaks and they say that by Sunday we should
- 37:56Speaker 2: be in the clear. So if you're coming out for
- 37:58Speaker 2: the afternoon game on Sunday, should be good shape. And
- 38:00Speaker 2: what the turf that you guys have there? Unless you
- 38:02Speaker 2: have like serious lightning or whatever, or it's just buckets
- 38:06Speaker 2: of rain, you guys can pretty much play. We do
- 38:08Speaker 2: pretty much.
- 38:09Speaker 11: And even if it's a light sprinkle to even a
- 38:11Speaker 11: quick downpour, the guys just stop there playing. Yeah, we
- 38:14Speaker 11: just let them play through it. Yeah, we just yeah,
- 38:16Speaker 11: you know, just keep going. Gain that's it, guys, It
- 38:18Speaker 11: keep going next week.
- 38:19Speaker 2: Are they on the road next week.
- 38:20Speaker 11: Or then we are on the road next week? Yes,
- 38:21Speaker 11: I can't remember exactly where, but they are on the
- 38:23Speaker 11: road next week that we come back the following week.
- 38:25Speaker 2: That's basically, that's almost That's kind of the way the
- 38:27Speaker 2: schedule works in the league. It's like this one week on,
- 38:30Speaker 2: one week off, and you're on the road for the
- 38:31Speaker 2: most part for the most part. So some exemptions to that.
- 38:34Speaker 2: And there's been some good baseball played over the over
- 38:37Speaker 2: the last few years. It's hard to believe that since
- 38:39Speaker 2: baseball came back to Charleston that we're in year what
- 38:42Speaker 2: twenty twenty one, twenty two.
- 38:46Speaker 11: Two years and not only that, but we want we
- 38:48Speaker 11: were in the finals two years ago. Yeah, I mean,
- 38:50Speaker 11: you know, we had a chance to win it all. So,
- 38:52Speaker 11: I mean, you know were we provide a good quality
- 38:55Speaker 11: team out there.
- 38:55Speaker 2: And if you've never you know, experienced, you've never gone
- 38:58Speaker 2: to a game, I mean anytime, and you're a baseball guy.
- 39:01Speaker 2: You've spent your career pretty much in baseball. You know,
- 39:04Speaker 2: it's not just about the game on the field, because
- 39:06Speaker 2: people will say, well, I'm not a big baseball fan.
- 39:08Speaker 2: That's not why you go to baseball game.
- 39:10Speaker 12: Now.
- 39:10Speaker 2: You go to watch the game, yes, but it's the
- 39:12Speaker 2: experience and there's no other sport like it now that
- 39:17Speaker 2: the experience of that the food is such a big deal,
- 39:20Speaker 2: that the or halftime between the innings, entertainment and the
- 39:26Speaker 2: games that you guys do. It's not just about the game. Yeah.
- 39:30Speaker 11: So my baseball career almost twenty one years now, it's
- 39:33Speaker 11: been nothing but minor league baseball. And so players come
- 39:36Speaker 11: and go quickly because they get called up or for
- 39:38Speaker 11: whatever reason they move on or so forth.
- 39:41Speaker 2: So you don't really go there for the for the players.
- 39:44Speaker 11: You really go there for the fact that you have
- 39:46Speaker 11: great promotions, like yesterday we had dollar Beer night. You know,
- 39:49Speaker 11: we got some fireworks of course, tomorrow night after we
- 39:51Speaker 11: have the Pepperoni Roll, we have some Star Wars stuff
- 39:53Speaker 11: going on, and then we have fireworks. But you know,
- 39:56Speaker 11: for the entertainment, for the price of the ticket, I
- 39:58Speaker 11: mean ten bucks. You know, you go into a game
- 40:01Speaker 11: and you're like, you know, family of four, you can
- 40:03Speaker 11: probably get in there for a hundred hundred bucks. And
- 40:06Speaker 11: it's probably one of the cheapest things for entertainment wise
- 40:08Speaker 11: for family of four.
- 40:09Speaker 2: And you're gonna find it. And there's all kinds. You
- 40:11Speaker 2: got the Kid Zone, and you got all these other
- 40:12Speaker 2: kids zone.
- 40:13Speaker 11: We got a free bumper car area, the kid Zone,
- 40:16Speaker 11: of course, and there's just a lot of great things
- 40:18Speaker 11: around the ballpark to even just see and do.
- 40:20Speaker 2: So it's it's a lot of fun. It is. It
- 40:22Speaker 2: is definite, all right. So you brought me some swag here.
- 40:24Speaker 2: You told me how I'm in a movie.
- 40:25Speaker 11: You are in a movie. It's the hot Dog Movie.
- 40:27Speaker 11: It's the Tale of a West Virginia hot Dog. You're
- 40:30Speaker 11: in it. It's when Joel and I and some judges
- 40:33Speaker 11: went around the state of West Virginia trying over three
- 40:36Speaker 11: hundred hot dogs in the state of West Virginia. No,
- 40:38Speaker 11: not just any hot dogs, but West Virginia style hot dogs.
- 40:41Speaker 11: And of course we came out with a list of
- 40:43Speaker 11: the top one hundred and all this good stuff.
- 40:45Speaker 2: And then you had to go into witness protection perfect.
- 40:47Speaker 11: I did, yes, yes, yes, But then the governor also
- 40:49Speaker 11: gave us a proclamation telling us what a West Virginia
- 40:51Speaker 11: style hot dog is. I was Governor Jim Justice at
- 40:54Speaker 11: the time, and he's in the movie as well. So
- 40:56Speaker 11: you're in the movie because I go on the radio
- 40:58Speaker 11: and we talk about it, and yeah.
- 41:00Speaker 2: So you're in this movie.
- 41:01Speaker 11: And of course during National Hot Dog Day, which is
- 41:05Speaker 11: I believe next Wednesday, the fifteenth, we will have it
- 41:09Speaker 11: over there at at Park Place Cinema. Okay, and you know,
- 41:13Speaker 11: just going inside watch the movie should be there for
- 41:15Speaker 11: probably about I think a week. We're going to keep
- 41:18Speaker 11: it there, so yeah, yeah, depending on if they can
- 41:20Speaker 11: get the theaters working right, well, we'll be good to go.
- 41:22Speaker 2: All right. And if somebody's listening right now and they
- 41:24Speaker 2: want to go check out this movie, and if they don't,
- 41:26Speaker 2: I mean, is there a place online that they get to?
- 41:28Speaker 2: You can check out hafun WV dot com for details. Okay,
