- 0:18Speaker 1: guys are going to really enjoy this next segment. For
- 0:21Speaker 1: many people, this season is all about creating a home
- 0:24Speaker 1: that feels warm, festive, and full of meaning. That's why
- 0:27Speaker 1: we're real excited about our next guest. You all probably
- 0:30Speaker 1: know Stephanie Trantham. She's the home and lifestyle expert behind
- 0:33Speaker 1: the Broadmoor House. She's here to talk to us not
- 0:36Speaker 1: only about her top holiday decor and gifting tips with
- 0:39Speaker 1: Mackenzie Charles, but also the collectible ornaments she designed herself.
- 0:42Speaker 1: You all probably saw it on her Instagram page. I
- 0:45Speaker 1: know that I did. Stephanie, thank you again for stopping by.
- 0:47Speaker 1: I really appreciate it.
- 0:48Speaker 2: Thank you so much for having me. I'm excited to
- 0:50Speaker 2: chat with you today.
- 0:52Speaker 1: Well, Stephanie, we're going to get into your collaboration with
- 0:54Speaker 1: McKinsey Childs, but I definitely want to talk to you
- 0:56Speaker 1: about this journey for you as a creative. I mean,
- 0:58Speaker 1: you were living the creative dream, being able to grow up,
- 1:01Speaker 1: being able to love creating. What has it been like
- 1:04Speaker 1: for you to see the success, not only of the
- 1:05Speaker 1: Broadmoor House, but also just your own journey of being
- 1:08Speaker 1: able to bring great things to life?
- 1:10Speaker 2: Doing this job and being in this position is one
- 1:13Speaker 2: of the greatest joys of my life. I never expected
- 1:17Speaker 2: anything like this to come from my Instagram, but it's
- 1:20Speaker 2: been such an honor being able to connect with all
- 1:24Speaker 2: of my followers on the Instagram. I feel like they
- 1:26Speaker 2: are my friends. I love visiting with them on DMs,
- 1:29Speaker 2: and I just love being a great resource for them
- 1:32Speaker 2: for being able to make their home look beautiful yet
- 1:36Speaker 2: very functional and usable, and it's just been such a joy. Yes.
- 1:41Speaker 1: I know. I saw that you were at the Amazon
- 1:44Speaker 1: Creator Summit. And I think the thing is about you, Stephanie,
- 1:47Speaker 1: that I have appreciated is that it's very obvious that
- 1:51Speaker 1: you're doing what you love, but also you're very passionate
- 1:53Speaker 1: about the things that you are sharing, which is why
- 1:55Speaker 1: this segment is so important for our audience. What are
- 1:58Speaker 1: your top tips, Stephanie, when it comes to decorating a
- 2:01Speaker 1: home for the holiday in a way that feels personal
- 2:04Speaker 1: and also festive?
- 2:05Speaker 2: I feel like you should decorate with what you love.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Don't go with what the trends say or what the
- 2:10Speaker 2: color palette you feel like your home should be. I
- 2:13Speaker 2: love to actually decorate my home in lots of different
- 2:16Speaker 2: colors and themes. I will do different sections of my
- 2:19Speaker 2: house or different rooms and different themes. That way, even
- 2:22Speaker 2: your most nostalgic pieces have a place to fit. But
- 2:25Speaker 2: I feel like we should... strive to live in a
- 2:27Speaker 2: home that makes us feel comfortable and makes us feel
- 2:30Speaker 2: good rather than living inside of a magazine. And I
- 2:34Speaker 2: feel like you're decorating your home for your family, for me,
- 2:39Speaker 2: is a love note to them. It indicates to them
- 2:41Speaker 2: that even the most ordinary evenings can feel special. And
- 2:45Speaker 2: I feel like that's what makes the holidays most magical
- 2:49Speaker 2: in your home. Yeah.
- 2:51Speaker 1: You said on Instagram, Stephanie, that McKenzie Childs was your
- 2:56Speaker 1: dream brand to be able to work with. Tell us
- 2:58Speaker 1: about the collaboration with them and what makes the ornament
- 3:00Speaker 1: so special.
- 3:01Speaker 2: McKenzie Childs has been such an honor to create this
- 3:06Speaker 2: ornament with them. They've been such a huge part of
- 3:09Speaker 2: my home's story. My kids absolutely love McKenzie Childs. It
- 3:13Speaker 2: brings so much joy and happiness to us. And especially
- 3:16Speaker 2: around the holidays, their pieces have become such a tradition
- 3:20Speaker 2: in our household. And so creating this ornament has been
- 3:23Speaker 2: such an honor. We designed the ornament in the traditional
- 3:26Speaker 2: Broadmoor house colors, black, white, and gold. It has velvet
- 3:30Speaker 2: on there, sparkles, rhinestones, and the topper is even a
- 3:34Speaker 2: part of my logo. What really makes this special is
- 3:37Speaker 2: knowing that this ornament will become part of... family and
- 3:41Speaker 2: household traditions and that they'll be able to use it
- 3:44Speaker 2: and it'll become more special each year as they hang
- 3:47Speaker 2: it up.
- 3:48Speaker 1: I love that. So speaking of McKenzie Childs in the 70s,
- 3:51Speaker 1: what are some of the best McKenzie Childs pieces that
- 3:53Speaker 1: combine both style and functionality?
- 3:56Speaker 2: So McKenzie Childs does this so well. They combine function
- 4:00Speaker 2: and beauty, which is one of the reasons why I
- 4:02Speaker 2: was really drawn to McKenzie Childs to begin with. And
- 4:05Speaker 2: one of the best pieces that I feel like really
- 4:09Speaker 2: encapsules this thought process of mine is the electric tea kettle.
- 4:14Speaker 2: They have an entire kitchen electrics line. And usually some
- 4:18Speaker 2: of these kitchen electrics, such as electric tea kettles or
- 4:21Speaker 2: coffee makers, sometimes they bring down the aesthetics of the kitchen,
- 4:25Speaker 2: but this line actually elevates. And it's a really great
- 4:28Speaker 2: way to save money as well. When some of your
- 4:31Speaker 2: most ordinary items in your kitchen, for example, They're beautiful
- 4:36Speaker 2: as well, and I feel like your decor doesn't have
- 4:38Speaker 2: to work as hard. But this electric tea kettle, we
- 4:41Speaker 2: use it every single day. Like I said, usually electric
- 4:44Speaker 2: tea kettles, they don't look great, and they bring down
- 4:47Speaker 2: the aesthetics. But this one really acts as a piece
- 4:49Speaker 2: of decor, which makes our little corner look really beautiful. Okay.
- 4:55Speaker 1: So for our audience out there, I know we're beginning
- 4:57Speaker 1: the month of November, but for anyone still searching for
- 5:00Speaker 1: the perfect holiday gift, What are the standout picks from
- 5:03Speaker 1: McKenzie Childs this season that you would recommend then?
- 5:06Speaker 2: I love gifts that are both personal, but things that
- 5:08Speaker 2: they would use every single day. And McKenzie Childs has
- 5:11Speaker 2: so many gifts at so many different price ranges that
- 5:15Speaker 2: I feel like you could find a gift for anyone there.
- 5:18Speaker 2: So for example, my ornament is such a great gift.
- 5:20Speaker 2: It's an easy gift for a teacher or a host gift.
- 5:24Speaker 2: It comes in a beautiful box and it's a beautiful presentation.
- 5:29Speaker 2: But also they have these Serving bowls come in several
- 5:33Speaker 2: different sizes, different colors. They have the traditional check that
- 5:38Speaker 2: they're famous for, but also beautiful florals. But it's a
- 5:41Speaker 2: piece that the person that you give this gift to
- 5:43Speaker 2: would be able to use while hosting. But also, it
- 5:46Speaker 2: can be used every day as a fruit bowl. But also,
- 5:49Speaker 2: they have gifts under $ 50, $ 60, such as kitchen towels, potholders.
- 5:55Speaker 2: And then they did a collaboration with Goody Wet Brush.
- 5:58Speaker 2: And all of these pieces are under $ 20. They have brushes,
- 6:02Speaker 2: hair clips, so many really, really fun pieces. And then
- 6:06Speaker 2: if you have a higher budget, I feel like my
- 6:08Speaker 2: top pick on my Instagram that I feel is my
- 6:11Speaker 2: best seller all year round is the traditional tea kettle.
- 6:14Speaker 2: It sits on your range. It doubles as decor, but
- 6:17Speaker 2: very functional and useful. And it's just such a great gift.
- 6:21Speaker 2: So those are some of my favorite gifts for the holidays.
- 6:25Speaker 1: We know that you'll be sharing more with your audience
- 6:28Speaker 1: on social media, Stephanie, so we definitely want to invite
- 6:31Speaker 1: our audience and make sure they're following you on Instagram
- 6:33Speaker 1: at the Broadmoor House. But, Stephanie, where can our audience
- 6:36Speaker 1: go for more information about what we talked here with
- 6:37Speaker 1: McKenzie Childs?
- 6:38Speaker 2: Yeah, they can go to McKenzieChilds.com and shop the entire
- 6:42Speaker 2: collection there. And like you said, I would absolutely be
- 6:45Speaker 2: so honored if everyone would follow me on Instagram. We'll
- 6:50Speaker 2: be sharing so many fun things for the holidays coming up,
- 6:52Speaker 2: gift guides, how to decorate, even some beauty and fashion
- 6:56Speaker 2: in there as well.
- 6:58Speaker 1: Love it. Mackenzie, so proud of you. Congratulations on all
- 7:01Speaker 1: of your success. And thank you so much for taking
- 7:03Speaker 1: our time with us today. Really appreciate it.
- 7:04Speaker 2: Thanks so much, Cyrus, for having me.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Glad to do it. And we thank your audience for
- 7:08Speaker 1: tuning in to another great segment of Conversations Live. Until
- 7:12Speaker 1: next time, I'm your host, Cyrus Webstein. As always, enjoy
