- 31:07Lieutenant Ben Guthrie and Wally Mayer a Sergeant Matt Grebb, was written by E
- 31:11Jack Newman, with music composed and conducted by Eddie Dunsteader. Featured in tonight's
- 31:17cast were High ever Back, Jeannette Nolan, Harry Lang, Howard mcneer,
- 31:21Peter Leeds, Lee Patrick, and Virginia Gregg. The lineup is produced and
- 31:25directed by him Delvayer. Beginning next week, listen for the line up Thursday

- 32:34speaking, this is the CBS Radio Network. Welcome back, Welcome so definitely
- 33:00changed. I wonder how people would react today if they thought that the police
- 33:07were sitting around at work given each other back massages. I can imagine a
- 33:16chiropractor might have a problem with that kind of having this sergeant to take business
- 33:23from them. Of course, the type of interaction we saw there between Ben
- 33:31and Matt was somewhat reminiscent of the type of thing you would see between Joe
- 33:39Friday and Frank Smith on Dragnet. However, I can assure you that they
- 33:46were not borrowing from Dragnet on that point, because the character of Frank Smith
- 33:54wouldn't be introduced till the next year. This point, Barton Yarborough was playing
- 34:00Friday's partner who was still a married man but a lot more grumpy, and
- 34:07the whole idea of trying to cure and help that was something associated with the
- 34:14Frank Smith era. It almost makes me wonder if the producers of Dragnet might
- 34:19not have had this in mind somewhere in the back of their heads, or
- 34:23whether Ben Alexander had that in mind and use that in creating his character.
- 34:35Alexander was a fan of Dragnet Ben Alexander who played Frank Smith, so it
- 34:39seems possible to me that he also could have been a fan of the lineup.
- 34:45This episode definitely deserves some high marks. I really appreciated the sound effect
- 34:51in the hospital room. It was so eerily real and just in terms of
- 34:57the quality of acting, the story, the human interactions, this, to
- 35:00me, I think has been probably the best episode of the lineup we've heard
- 35:06yet. So this was just very well done and I hope you enjoyed it
- 35:08as much as I did. All Right, Well, that will actually do
- 35:13it for today. We're gonna take tomorrow off, join us back here on
- 35:17Monday. I will begin again with another serial of yours, truly, Johnny
