Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Yeah, it is the Mark Simon Show on seventy tenor.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Hey, all right, it's enough with the Knicks. Not kidding, kidding,
- 0:17Speaker 2: we love the Knicks. The parade is getting ready to
- 0:21Speaker 2: take place. We don't know exactly when I was supposed
- 0:24Speaker 2: to be ten to noon. I see the players are
- 0:27Speaker 2: coming into the parade area. The team is coming in.
- 0:31Speaker 2: They're expecting a million people. Remember yesterday I said the
- 0:34Speaker 2: figured more like two million. I'm here in three or
- 0:38Speaker 2: four million. Now, this is going to be crazy. And
- 0:40Speaker 2: then you had to line up ahead of time to
- 0:43Speaker 2: be in the audience, to be on the sidelines of
- 0:46Speaker 2: the parade. But apparently people started getting there at eleven
- 0:49Speaker 2: o'clock last night. By seven thirty this morning, it was
- 0:53Speaker 2: full a maximum number of people that can watch the parade,
- 0:57Speaker 2: and they go through you know, TSA type security, getting
- 1:00Speaker 2: screened and frisked, and so as of seven thirty this morning,
- 1:05Speaker 2: the parade crowd was totally full. There are all sorts
- 1:08Speaker 2: of other people down. I don't know what they're gonna do.
- 1:11Speaker 2: They're gonna have to watch it on their phone or something.
- 1:13Speaker 2: The ceremony will then take place at noon, maybe eleven thirty.
- 1:18Speaker 2: It was I forget the original schedule. Maybe it was
- 1:20Speaker 2: originally eleven, now eleven thirty twelve. Well, we'll bring you
- 1:23Speaker 2: the ceremony live and all the activity. The parade. There's
- 1:27Speaker 2: really nothing to hear. It's just a lot of waving.
- 1:30Speaker 2: In fact, I don't know why you have to go
- 1:32Speaker 2: down there. Why would you want to be down there.
- 1:34Speaker 2: You'll see it much better on television. You'll hear it
- 1:38Speaker 2: much better on radio. You know, you go down there,
- 1:40Speaker 2: you're going to be behind, you know, one hundred people
- 1:43Speaker 2: in front of you, and what are you going to see?
- 1:45Speaker 2: The ticker tape looks great, but otherwise it's just a
- 1:49Speaker 2: lot of waving, just people waving at you from a
- 1:52Speaker 2: you know, they say the float. You know, it's just
- 1:53Speaker 2: a flatbed truck and a guy's waving at you. So
- 1:56Speaker 2: it's you don't need to be there. You don't need
- 1:58Speaker 2: to be there. Now, let's hope nothing goes wrong after
- 2:01Speaker 2: the parade we saw we saw some violence and some
- 2:07Speaker 2: ugly rioting Saturday night. Now people will say, well, that
- 2:10Speaker 2: was midnight. This is going to be you know, eleven
- 2:12Speaker 2: in the morning. Well, hopefully everything's okay. I see Steve
- 2:16Speaker 2: Sharipa in the crowd there. Our friend Steve Sharippa marching
- 2:20Speaker 2: with the team. I guess that means he'll be on
- 2:22Speaker 2: a float. City council speaker Julie Mennon is there. She'll
- 2:26Speaker 2: be on a float. A bunch of celebrities will be
- 2:28Speaker 2: on those floats waving.
- 2:30Speaker 3: Now.
- 2:30Speaker 2: The police department has sent out ten thousand people. Apparently
- 2:36Speaker 2: that's the biggest number of cops ever sent to patrol
- 2:40Speaker 2: an event, ten thousand. Hopefully they're ready for this. Unlike
- 2:45Speaker 2: Saturday Night, believe it or not, this is the first
- 2:50Speaker 2: parade the Knicks have ever had. Yeah, they won the
- 2:54Speaker 2: championship in seventy three, but at the time city wasn't
- 2:57Speaker 2: doing so well financially and Mayor Lindsay decided it was
- 3:02Speaker 2: too expensive for the city to do a parade, so
- 3:05Speaker 2: instead they did a party. They just threw a big
- 3:08Speaker 2: party for the next So this will be the first
- 3:10Speaker 2: Knicks parade ever. I've never seen anything like this sports wise,
- 3:15Speaker 2: even when the Yankees would win the World Series, even
- 3:18Speaker 2: when was the first one back ninety six, was like
- 3:20Speaker 2: the first one in years many years, and there was excitement,
- 3:24Speaker 2: but not like this, and it was not so universal
- 3:26Speaker 2: all over the city never seen anything capture the whole city,
- 3:30Speaker 2: any sports event like this, so it's going to be
- 3:33Speaker 2: absolutely amazing. The ratings were phenomenal. You know, the final
- 3:37Speaker 2: game's twenty four million people watching. Nothing until the Oscars
- 3:41Speaker 2: doesn't get twenty four million people, and was that was huge.
- 3:45Speaker 2: Everybody got this Knicks fever. So we'll be covering it
- 3:48Speaker 2: all day today and when the ceremony happens at City Hall,
- 3:53Speaker 2: we'll bring that to you live later today. Other big
- 3:58Speaker 2: news the Iran deal. Now this is very important because
- 4:00Speaker 2: it gives the Trump haters on the right and on
- 4:03Speaker 2: the left, and the Republican Trumpeters, the Democratic Trumpeters a
- 4:06Speaker 2: chance to whine, which they enjoy. They like to whind.
- 4:09Speaker 2: This is the worst deal. It's a complete surrender. This
- 4:12Speaker 2: is ever So nobody knows what's in the deal yet.
- 4:16Speaker 2: I know you've seen leaks of Axios printing what they
- 4:20Speaker 2: say is the deal, Bloomberg printing what they say is
- 4:23Speaker 2: that nobody knows. I'm hearing there's stuff in there that's
- 4:26Speaker 2: much tougher than what you're reading. But it'll be Friday
- 4:30Speaker 2: the signing, and if it's not a great deal. If
- 4:33Speaker 2: it's not, remember this is not the end of things.
- 4:36Speaker 2: This is just the next play in the game. There's
- 4:39Speaker 2: going to be a lot of plays in this game.
- 4:42Speaker 2: This is still like a second down, third down. This
- 4:45Speaker 2: is not the final resolution of this. So if it stinks,
- 4:48Speaker 2: it doesn't matter. It's only for sixty days and then
- 4:51Speaker 2: they either go to a tougher deal or they get
- 4:53Speaker 2: bombed again. So again, this is not the final thing.
- 4:56Speaker 2: This is not the final chapter. Don't worry about it
- 4:59Speaker 2: so much. But it he gives the Trump haters something
- 5:02Speaker 2: to do, which is great. You got to keep you
- 5:05Speaker 2: got to keep throwing them a bone, something to yell about.
- 5:08Speaker 2: Where where's I mean, whenever there's something to yell about?
- 5:12Speaker 2: Who shows up? When you need this guy? He's never
- 5:14Speaker 2: around when there's riots in Columbia, when there's anti Semitic
- 5:18Speaker 2: attacks all over the place, when there were riots all
- 5:21Speaker 2: over the city in twenty twenty, the guy who was hidden,
- 5:25Speaker 2: he just left the city, fled and hid. When you
- 5:28Speaker 2: don't need him, he's there. I'm talking about a course
- 5:30Speaker 2: about Chuck Schumer with the old man glasses now huffing
- 5:34Speaker 2: and puffing. Everything Trump does is awful.
- 5:36Speaker 4: They knew that the strait of horn moves was a
- 5:39Speaker 4: choke point, and Trump had no way, no way to
- 5:44Speaker 4: get them to release that without giving in so much
- 5:47Speaker 4: on so many things to them. So we're in a
- 5:50Speaker 4: national security disaster.
- 5:52Speaker 2: So this is what he enjoys doing this. And you
- 5:55Speaker 2: can get away with this if you go on CNN
- 5:57Speaker 2: or MSNBC or any of the network you can say
- 5:59Speaker 2: nonsense and they won't correct you. He know, if you
- 6:05Speaker 2: watch what was I watching this Moring Morning, Joe, they
- 6:07Speaker 2: had that wacko Dan Goldman, that crazy left wing Congress
- 6:12Speaker 2: when he was yelling and screaming about Trump went into
- 6:14Speaker 2: war with no plan. He had no plan. This is
- 6:18Speaker 2: the single most planned war in the history of warfare. Literally,
- 6:23Speaker 2: when the Iatola and all that took over forty seven
- 6:26Speaker 2: years ago, the Pentagon started planning war with Iran. How
- 6:30Speaker 2: to do it, what to hit, what to evade, And
- 6:32Speaker 2: they've been working on the plan for forty seven years.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Every year the Pentagon goes over that plan and tweaks
- 6:39Speaker 2: it and updates it. So this plan has been worked
- 6:41Speaker 2: on for forty seven years. That's why when we launched
- 6:45Speaker 2: the attack on Iran, we knew exactly what to hit.
- 6:48Speaker 2: In two days, we basically had them disabled militarily. We
- 6:52Speaker 2: wiped out their air force, their army, everything, the Navy
- 6:55Speaker 2: all gone in a second. We killed the top fourteen
- 6:57Speaker 2: leaders in the first hour. We knew. It's just what
- 7:00Speaker 2: they do. It's the most planned war in history. And
- 7:04Speaker 2: now the reason these guys are getting really ornery right
- 7:06Speaker 2: now and really upset. The problem with this deal, the
- 7:11Speaker 2: big problem that they're facing is oil is going to
- 7:15Speaker 2: start flowing like crazy, and it's brought down the price
- 7:19Speaker 2: of oil dramatically. You remember Trump said, as soon as
- 7:22Speaker 2: we do this, oil will plunge. Well it's plunged. Remembers
- 7:25Speaker 2: one hundred and ten of barrel, seventy four dollars a barrel.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Now around the country you're seeing gas under four dollars,
- 7:31Speaker 2: gases three sixty a gallon three seventy all over the country.
- 7:35Speaker 2: Not New York or California because they keep putting these
- 7:37Speaker 2: state taxes all over it, so you'll see the high price.
- 7:40Speaker 2: But the rest of the country is seeing gas prices
- 7:43Speaker 2: way way down from a few weeks ago. Stock market's
- 7:47Speaker 2: still at all time high. So that's why the Democrats
- 7:50Speaker 2: are so upset. They don't like this at all. Hey, oh,
- 7:54Speaker 2: the other big thing today is. The Obama Library is
- 7:57Speaker 2: opening today, big opening ceremony now for a crazy left
- 8:02Speaker 2: wingers that you know, they don't care about sports. It'd
- 8:04Speaker 2: be something to them. This is their Nick's parade. The
- 8:07Speaker 2: Obama Library is opening. Bill Clinton will be there, George W.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Bush will be there. Anybody that hates Trump, Joe Biden
- 8:17Speaker 2: will be there, Bruce Springsteen will be there. It will
- 8:20Speaker 2: be a Trump hatred festival. Celebrities and politicians. You know,
- 8:24Speaker 2: a lot of the new Democrats hate Obama, you know,
- 8:26Speaker 2: the real left wings. Obama to them is like Ronald
- 8:30Speaker 2: Reagan to them. So Bernie Sanders won't go there, a
- 8:33Speaker 2: lot of them won't go. It's the opening is today.
- 8:37Speaker 2: If you've seen if you haven't seen it, go look
- 8:39Speaker 2: at pictures of the Obama Library. It is considered, I mean,
- 8:43Speaker 2: it really is considered to be the single ugliest structure
- 8:45Speaker 2: ever built in America. Even the surrounding neighborhood. The neighbors
- 8:49Speaker 2: are all suing because it's such an iore and it's
- 8:53Speaker 2: just destroyed the neighbor It looks absolutely hideous and ridiculous.
- 8:59Speaker 2: But the just glowing all over this. In fact, many
- 9:03Speaker 2: people are talking about the ABC News report this morning
- 9:07Speaker 2: on I guess it was Good Morning America. They did
- 9:08Speaker 2: a piece on the opening and it was a love
- 9:11Speaker 2: letter to Obama. They never mentioned how hideous and strange
- 9:15Speaker 2: the building looks. They never mentioned that the cost overruns
- 9:18Speaker 2: are billions of dollars, just unbelievable wasted money. They never
- 9:23Speaker 2: mentioned that most of the contractors are screaming they haven't
- 9:26Speaker 2: got paid. None of this was mentioned on the ABC report. Instead,
- 9:30Speaker 2: it was just a love letter. In fact, people were stunned.
- 9:34Speaker 2: They know ABC is biased and slanted, but they couldn't
- 9:37Speaker 2: believe this report got on the air. It was just
- 9:40Speaker 2: a love letter to Obama and the library. In fact,
- 9:43Speaker 2: I'm hearing now the Obama Library. It's going to save
- 9:46Speaker 2: that thing and it's going to be their promotional piece
- 9:48Speaker 2: they use. Hey, the parade is about to get hurt.
- 9:51Speaker 2: Do we have Natalie No, Well, check on that. I
- 9:56Speaker 2: think about somewhere around now. We're checking with She's down
- 10:00Speaker 2: at the parade. So we'll get a live update. Hey,
- 10:04Speaker 2: we'll get to Rex Human. He was sentenced yesterday, Rex Huerman,
- 10:10Speaker 2: this big, hideous looking monster. The judge at one point
- 10:16Speaker 2: started crying. They had all the families, you know, talk
- 10:19Speaker 2: about what happened to their loved ones by, you know,
- 10:22Speaker 2: being killed by this monster. So we have her now.
- 10:25Speaker 2: All right, Well we'll get to Rex Human. Let's check
- 10:28Speaker 2: in Withalie Migliori. Natalie, where are.
- 10:30Speaker 5: You, hey?
- 10:32Speaker 6: Well, I'm on West Broadway and Warren Street right now,
- 10:36Speaker 6: which is a little bit further away from the parade route.
- 10:39Speaker 6: But I'll tell you that didn't stop fans. They are
- 10:42Speaker 6: still out here.
- 10:43Speaker 2: And can you get close to the parade?
- 10:48Speaker 6: No, it's really difficult. It's been difficult, especially you know, Mark.
- 10:51Speaker 6: I'm out on the street every morning talking to people.
- 10:53Speaker 6: So I started my morning talking to people who were
- 10:56Speaker 6: waiting in line to get into the parade, and the
- 11:00Speaker 6: people who I even were speaking to, they couldn't even
- 11:04Speaker 6: get into the parade. By eight o'clock. The pens had
- 11:06Speaker 6: already been filled, so it's tough to get anywhere close
- 11:11Speaker 6: to the parade. Anybody who's close to the parade is
- 11:13Speaker 6: maybe about a block off of it, so they're standing
- 11:17Speaker 6: in between buildings to those openings just to see if
- 11:22Speaker 6: they could see their players pass by.
- 11:24Speaker 2: Yeah. I was watching some TV stations this morning. They
- 11:26Speaker 2: were all yelling and screaming their reporters couldn't get into
- 11:28Speaker 2: the parade route and they were unable to get near it.
- 11:30Speaker 2: So but how does the crowd look peaceful?
- 11:33Speaker 5: We hope, well, the crowd.
- 11:36Speaker 6: Is streaming, moving through in most parts of the city
- 11:39Speaker 6: in Lower Manhattan. But it's peaceful. I mean, everybody's happy.
- 11:43Speaker 6: I did ask people once we found out that people
- 11:45Speaker 6: weren't going to be able to get into the parade
- 11:48Speaker 6: how they felt. People were disappointed, but they said that
- 11:52Speaker 6: there's nothing like being with other Knicks fans and just
- 11:55Speaker 6: being able to celebrate this long awaited when that fans
- 11:59Speaker 6: have been waiting for since nineteen seventy three. So a
- 12:03Speaker 6: lot of people in high spirits and definitely the vibe
- 12:07Speaker 6: is more positive than negative.
- 12:08Speaker 5: I would say, all.
- 12:10Speaker 2: Right, now, let me ask you technical questions. It looks
- 12:12Speaker 2: like they're going to get three million people down there.
- 12:14Speaker 2: Are there places to get something to eat? Are there?
- 12:17Speaker 2: What if somebody needs to go to the restroom? What
- 12:19Speaker 2: do they do down there? It's goud be for hours, very.
- 12:21Speaker 6: Limited bathroom access. Okay. A lot of restaurants along the
- 12:25Speaker 6: way are open or eateries. I'm standing in front of
- 12:28Speaker 6: a little coffee shop where a lot of Knicks fans
- 12:31Speaker 6: are and they're also I'm looking through the windows they're
- 12:34Speaker 6: sitting inside and they have their jerseys on. So people
- 12:38Speaker 6: who couldn't make it to the parade are definitely making
- 12:40Speaker 6: the best out of their time in the city. But
- 12:42Speaker 6: moving these people is difficult in a sense because it's
- 12:46Speaker 6: been a frozen stone from below Canal Street. So if
- 12:50Speaker 6: you wanted to get on a subway, if you wanted
- 12:52Speaker 6: to park your car, well, guess what, good luck, you
- 12:54Speaker 6: couldn't even drive down here after seven o'clock this morning,
- 12:57Speaker 6: and you couldn't even get on a subway walk.
- 13:00Speaker 2: Wow, So hey, I hope you see a big, huge
- 13:03Speaker 2: police presence down there.
- 13:06Speaker 6: There was a very yeah, very large police presence. It's
- 13:10Speaker 6: the largest police presence in any event's history in New
- 13:14Speaker 6: York City. Ten thousand cops on the ground, and I
- 13:16Speaker 6: can attest to that. I am seeing a lot of cops,
- 13:19Speaker 6: you know, many in different places in a sense, a
- 13:23Speaker 6: heavy police presence in terms of the vehicles too. If
- 13:26Speaker 6: you're walking down West Broadway, there are cops go lore
- 13:30Speaker 6: down the street making sure that everybody keeps moving, the
- 13:33Speaker 6: cars and everything. So there definitely is a large police
- 13:36Speaker 6: presence here.
- 13:37Speaker 2: Yeah. Hey, And if there's all these buildings along the route,
- 13:40Speaker 2: if you look up into all the windows or mostly offices,
- 13:43Speaker 2: but I imagine a lot of people came to the office
- 13:45Speaker 2: to look out the window and watch the parade.
- 13:48Speaker 6: Yeah. And funny enough, I was looking up a little
- 13:50Speaker 6: earlier today and some people there was a like a
- 13:53Speaker 6: balcony like on one of the buildings, and there were
- 13:56Speaker 6: a group of people hanging out on the balcony trying
- 13:58Speaker 6: to see the parade, certainly getting into their into their
- 14:02Speaker 6: buildings and making sure that they can that they could see.
- 14:06Speaker 6: That's what a lot of people say. That's what they
- 14:08Speaker 6: do for these sick ortate parades.
- 14:10Speaker 7: Right.
- 14:10Speaker 6: It happens not as big, but with the Liberty Parade
- 14:13Speaker 6: a couple of years ago and this year, that's probably
- 14:17Speaker 6: a golden ticket if you've got an office along the
- 14:19Speaker 6: parade route.
- 14:20Speaker 2: All right, Well, great job, Natalie Migliori. Well we'll check
- 14:23Speaker 2: with you again later. Stay out of trouble and we'll
- 14:25Speaker 2: talk you.
- 14:26Speaker 8: Thank you, take care.
- 14:28Speaker 2: Uh And we have listeners all over the country. You
- 14:31Speaker 2: might be saying, what is it with the Knicks and
- 14:32Speaker 2: all this next? So wow, it means a lot to us.
- 14:34Speaker 2: It's a big deal here. I imagine all over the country. Uh,
- 14:38Speaker 2: people are following this very carefully. So where was Oh yeah,
- 14:42Speaker 2: Rex Huerman, this big, grotesque monster, murderer, mass murderer, killer.
- 14:48Speaker 2: So the victims families testified and it was so powerful
- 14:52Speaker 2: and moving. Even the judge started crying. And then at
- 14:56Speaker 2: one time the judge and the judge really tore into
- 14:59Speaker 2: human before the sentencing, here's the judge.
- 15:02Speaker 1: Are you a little bit sorry for what you did
- 15:04Speaker 1: to these poor innocent women? Eight women that is strangled to.
- 15:08Speaker 3: Death, at least eight that we know of.
- 15:10Speaker 9: Are you at least a little bit sorry for that?
- 15:13Speaker 10: Yes?
- 15:14Speaker 2: Yes, he's just like a monster cold month. Yes, sir am,
- 15:20Speaker 2: he did speak at one point, he didn't say much.
- 15:22Speaker 2: But this is Humorman. This is the serial killer monster.
- 15:26Speaker 11: There are no.
- 15:27Speaker 12: Words I can say.
- 15:28Speaker 1: Irrispose will War said Miss Ruler's death.
- 15:34Speaker 9: The words I would say.
- 15:35Speaker 5: Have no meaning.
- 15:36Speaker 2: All Right, Yeah, he's a pretty smart guy. He's an architect,
- 15:41Speaker 2: just an insane, lunatic killer. He's going to go to
- 15:44Speaker 2: prison where they say the other prisoners will try to
- 15:47Speaker 2: beat the hell out of them and kill him. There's
- 15:50Speaker 2: another serial killer who's been in prison for years who
- 15:54Speaker 2: wrote to Hueman and they started corresponding back and forth
- 15:57Speaker 2: about forty letters back and forth. The other killer is
- 16:00Speaker 2: also a big, huge guy. He's like seven feet tall.
- 16:03Speaker 2: And in one of the layers he wrote to human,
- 16:05Speaker 2: don't think because you're a big guy, it's going to
- 16:07Speaker 2: keep you safe. He said, it's a numbers game in prison,
- 16:10Speaker 2: like twenty of them will come after you. I mean,
- 16:14Speaker 2: scary stuff if you're if you're a human reading this.
- 16:17Speaker 2: And he also said, even though they're going to keep
- 16:19Speaker 2: you in solitary, they'll make sure at some point the
- 16:22Speaker 2: other prisoners getting near you. So so he's been sentenced.
- 16:27Speaker 2: It's three life sentences. Anyway, let's get off that topic
- 16:30Speaker 2: too gloomy. Let's get back to happy stuff. The Parade
- 16:33Speaker 2: of Champions, the Knicks Parade will be covering it live
- 16:36Speaker 2: all day to day, and we'll take some calls. Next
- 16:38Speaker 2: eight hundred three to two one zero seven ten is
- 16:42Speaker 2: the number eight hundred three to two one zero seven ten.
- 16:46Speaker 1: Live from the Door Life Back Studios, Bill Mark, some
- 16:50Speaker 1: own show.
- 16:54Speaker 2: Hey, let's take some calls. Let's go to Randall in Maryland. Randal,
- 16:58Speaker 2: how you doing. Wait a minute, let me trade again. Randall,
- 17:04Speaker 2: you're there. We lost him, Hey, Randall, call us back.
- 17:08Speaker 2: Sorry about that. Let's go to Larry in Cranford. Larry,
- 17:11Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 17:12Speaker 5: Hey? Mark? Hi? You know the parade should end with
- 17:15Speaker 5: Brunson on the last flow dressed as Santa Claus.
- 17:19Speaker 2: Oh, like the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade.
- 17:21Speaker 5: Yeah, all right, exactly?
- 17:23Speaker 2: Yeah, Well, I guess I don't know. He is such
- 17:29Speaker 2: a superstar. He was a Yankee stadium last night. Everybody
- 17:32Speaker 2: was like all over him. And the guy is a
- 17:34Speaker 2: massive story. You're going to see him endorsing everything, making
- 17:38Speaker 2: a fortune doing ad. So let's go to Mike and Florida. Mike,
- 17:41Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 17:42Speaker 12: Good morning, Mark, that's Mike. I think it's great that
- 17:46Speaker 12: the city's honoring the Knicks. It's my third championship in
- 17:50Speaker 12: my lifetime I've gotten to see. But I do think
- 17:52Speaker 12: it's the cynic in me. It brings up the cynic
- 17:55Speaker 12: in me because Mom, Donnie and his administration are very
- 17:58Speaker 12: pro working class, that's all they ever talk about. Yet
- 18:01Speaker 12: they've made it impossible for all millions of workers to
- 18:04Speaker 12: get to work today. And the only.
- 18:06Speaker 2: Thing you can't you can't they can't blame.
- 18:10Speaker 11: And the rich.
- 18:10Speaker 12: You're going to be the ones who can be really,
- 18:12Speaker 12: you know, all those poor people who can't get on
- 18:14Speaker 12: the floats with the rich coat folks. It's good, So
- 18:17Speaker 12: it is. There is a little bit of irony at least.
- 18:19Speaker 2: Yeah, that's any parade. That's that's for any parade. You
- 18:23Speaker 2: can't blame mom Donny for I also remember everybody that
- 18:26Speaker 2: works on those office buildings and broad it was told
- 18:28Speaker 2: they have to work from home today. So they're not
- 18:30Speaker 2: too upset. They're kind of like that.
- 18:31Speaker 12: It's all the it's all the postbobs trying to get
- 18:33Speaker 12: to Brooklyn on the on the on the FDR, and
- 18:37Speaker 12: but it's great.
- 18:38Speaker 2: They'd be very happy to call up work and say
- 18:41Speaker 2: I can't get there. Sorry, you have to work from all.
- 18:43Speaker 2: Don't worry you, that'll be fine. Thanks for calling. All right,
- 18:46Speaker 2: here's Randall from Maryland. Randall, how you doing.
- 18:50Speaker 7: Good?
- 18:51Speaker 11: Mark Mark's disagreement that was just signed by Trump?
- 18:54Speaker 12: Yeah, who signs on the other side of it?
- 18:58Speaker 2: The leader what's his name? I can't remember his name,
- 19:00Speaker 2: but there's an Iranian leader that will sign it. Was
- 19:05Speaker 2: that so hard to figure out? Well, you can look
- 19:09Speaker 2: it up. It's easy to google. I would tell you
- 19:11Speaker 2: his name, but I can't remember it. But there's there's
- 19:14Speaker 2: an Iranian leader in charge. He will sign it.
- 19:18Speaker 11: I feel better, Okay, Yeah.
- 19:21Speaker 2: No, everybody at the West Agreement. It's just the temporary thing.
- 19:26Speaker 2: It's just it's like a fourth inning thing. It's don't
- 19:30Speaker 2: worry about it. There's a lot more that'll play out here.
- 19:33Speaker 2: Let's go to Jim in New Jersey. Jim, how you doing?
- 19:39Speaker 11: End of a year of Mark? I saw very sadly.
- 19:41Speaker 11: He died the other day, one hundred years old. Jean
- 19:44Speaker 11: Shallatte died. Yeah, they already buried him in a Jewish
- 19:47Speaker 11: cemetery in Cedar Holes, New Jersey, which I know, well,
- 19:51Speaker 11: there's not many left Mark. I was watching To Tell
- 19:53Speaker 11: the Truth the other day with Gary Moore. I know
- 19:54Speaker 11: I need a Gilette is still around. She's eighty nine.
- 19:57Speaker 2: For those years, those you under eighty five years old,
- 20:00Speaker 2: Anita Jillette was a popular actress and singer that was
- 20:03Speaker 2: on every game show talk show in the sixties and
- 20:06Speaker 2: she still.
- 20:08Speaker 11: I see Claudeen what Launay died too, Mark, remember.
- 20:12Speaker 2: And those of you under eighty. She was married to
- 20:14Speaker 2: Andy Williams. She was a French singer. Who what was
- 20:18Speaker 2: the deal? She shot her?
- 20:20Speaker 11: She was going, yeah, Spider Savage. Spider Savage was that
- 20:24Speaker 11: his name?
- 20:24Speaker 2: She was got away with him, shot him and got
- 20:27Speaker 2: away with it and was married to Andrey Williams. But
- 20:30Speaker 2: all right, thanks for this trip down memory lane. Hey,
- 20:33Speaker 2: I'll tell you you know who did die yesterday. It
- 20:37Speaker 2: was a wonderful guy, a good comedian. His name was
- 20:40Speaker 2: Tom Dreeson. Now you probably saw him on TV a lot.
- 20:43Speaker 2: Tom Dreesen Sinatra like took him under his wing, made
- 20:46Speaker 2: him his opening act for like the last twenty years.
- 20:49Speaker 2: But Dreason was around from like the seven mid seventies.
- 20:55Speaker 2: And when David led Himan, a young kid trying to
- 20:58Speaker 2: break into show business, went to California, when he first
- 21:01Speaker 2: went to the Comedy Store, first time he ever got
- 21:04Speaker 2: on stage, Dreason was there. And Dresen was a little
- 21:07Speaker 2: more of a veteran, He wasn't that big yet, but
- 21:09Speaker 2: he took Letterman under his wing, very nice to him,
- 21:13Speaker 2: and right up until the end, Letterman always had Tom
- 21:16Speaker 2: Dreason on this show. He was so grateful to him.
- 21:19Speaker 2: And if you go to Letterman's Facebook page or mine,
- 21:23Speaker 2: actually I shared it, but let Himan did quite a
- 21:27Speaker 2: tribute to Tom Dreesen. He was a big part of Chicago.
- 21:30Speaker 2: That was a huge Chicago hero and a wonderful guy.
- 21:34Speaker 2: Died yesterday. I was eighty seven years old. Hey, So
- 21:39Speaker 2: throughout the day, throughout the morning, we'll cover the parade.
- 21:42Speaker 2: We'll bring you all the action. And then the big
- 21:44Speaker 2: thing is the City Hall ceremony. They'll start about eleven
- 21:47Speaker 2: thirty or so, and eleven thirty we'll bring you the
- 21:51Speaker 2: whole ceremony from So that's the part you want to hear.
- 21:54Speaker 2: Alicia Keys is going to perform live. The players will
- 21:58Speaker 2: speak and they'll get their trop you and all that.
- 22:00Speaker 2: So we'll bring you that live right here. You'll hear
- 22:03Speaker 2: all the action right here. When we come back, we
- 22:05Speaker 2: hope to talk to Steve Moore, the the great economists,
- 22:10Speaker 2: the brilliant economists. We'll talk to him next on seven
- 22:13Speaker 2: to ten Woor the.
- 22:15Speaker 1: Mark Simone Show on seven war.
- 22:20Speaker 2: Well Steve Moore, the brilliant economist and best selling author too.
- 22:24Speaker 2: If you haven't read his book yet, you should get
- 22:26Speaker 2: it's really good. The Trump Economic Miracle will explain everything
- 22:30Speaker 2: to you. Trump Economic Miracle. He also runs the Committee
- 22:33Speaker 2: to Unleash prosperity dot com. They put out the best
- 22:38Speaker 2: daily briefing, news analysis. You will love it. It's free,
- 22:42Speaker 2: it'll come right to your email. You can sign up
- 22:44Speaker 2: at unleash prosperity dot com. Unleash prosperity dot com. Steve Moore,
- 22:49Speaker 2: how you doing.
- 22:51Speaker 11: Hey, Mark?
- 22:51Speaker 5: I'm doing pretty well. I'm in New York City and
- 22:54Speaker 5: I guess the parade is going on right now as
- 22:56Speaker 5: we speak. But you know my line on this, of course, Mark,
- 23:00Speaker 5: is that, well, congratulations, New York can finally beat Texas
- 23:03Speaker 5: and something. But look, I am feeling good about a
- 23:09Speaker 5: lot better about the economy. We're seeing oil prices down
- 23:12Speaker 5: to about seventy four to seventy five dollars a barrel,
- 23:15Speaker 5: down from ninety five dollars a barrow, so people are
- 23:17Speaker 5: going to start to feel the effects of that in
- 23:20Speaker 5: their gas tank sometime in the next few weeks. I
- 23:24Speaker 5: think we could see, depending on where you live, I
- 23:26Speaker 5: think we could see nationally the gas price fall from
- 23:29Speaker 5: about four dollars to about three fifty a gallon, which
- 23:32Speaker 5: will be really fantastic for the US economy. And you know,
- 23:36Speaker 5: we've got an investment boom on this going on as
- 23:39Speaker 5: Larry Cudler would say, we're you know, it's not just
- 23:42Speaker 5: space X, but so many of these companies are used
- 23:45Speaker 5: taking advantage of the Trump tax cut, which really lowered
- 23:48Speaker 5: the tax on investment. And we are just seeing a
- 23:52Speaker 5: lot of construction, a lot of manufacturing. So the economy
- 23:57Speaker 5: is ready to explode.
- 23:59Speaker 8: I think I'm.
- 24:00Speaker 2: Getting reports from around the country, not New York, but
- 24:02Speaker 2: around the country. Gas now at three seventy at their
- 24:04Speaker 2: local stations, New York, California. They'll keep the price artificially
- 24:08Speaker 2: high with their stupid state stuff.
- 24:11Speaker 5: But have you noticed, by the way, a pattern there
- 24:13Speaker 5: where the Blue states have much more expensive gas than
- 24:16Speaker 5: the place states.
- 24:19Speaker 2: Now, forget Joe Biden with that huge spike in gas prices.
- 24:24Speaker 2: It was deliberate. He shut down drilling to deliberately raise
- 24:27Speaker 2: the price. Everybody forget.
- 24:29Speaker 5: It's a good point.
- 24:30Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 24:30Speaker 11: In fact, we.
- 24:31Speaker 5: Showed in our hotline the average price of gasoline, you know,
- 24:36Speaker 5: over you know, if you look at like Trump's first term,
- 24:39Speaker 5: we'll go back to under Obama and then Trump's first term,
- 24:42Speaker 5: and then Biden and Trump's second term, the lowest gas
- 24:46Speaker 5: prices on average. First the lowest were during Trump's first term.
- 24:50Speaker 5: The second lowest were during Trump's second term, even with
- 24:53Speaker 5: the increased spike that we've seen in the last few months.
- 24:56Speaker 5: And then Biden and then Obama had the highest as prices.
- 25:01Speaker 2: Obama not Biden.
- 25:03Speaker 5: Yeah, but he didn't like He didn't like fossil fuels
- 25:06Speaker 5: too much either. But here's the thing. When the gas
- 25:11Speaker 5: price starts to come down, which it will, that's like
- 25:14Speaker 5: a tax cut for the American economy. And then when
- 25:17Speaker 5: you put on top of that the fact that we've
- 25:20Speaker 5: got this AI boom, that's I know some people are
- 25:22Speaker 5: afraid of AI, but the productivity improvements already CEOs and
- 25:27Speaker 5: heads of manufacturing firmstance on are saying, the increase in
- 25:30Speaker 5: productivity is amazing. It's cutting our costs. And guess what,
- 25:34Speaker 5: when companies cut their costs, they were able to cut
- 25:36Speaker 5: their prices. So I think, you know, I agree with
- 25:39Speaker 5: Larry Kudlow. I was on his show last night and
- 25:42Speaker 5: he was saying, you know, we could see zero inflation
- 25:45Speaker 5: in the next few months.
- 25:46Speaker 2: Wow, And we got a good fed shairman now, so
- 25:49Speaker 2: we don't worry.
- 25:50Speaker 8: Why do we?
- 25:51Speaker 2: Yeah? Hey, besides this Knicks parade, the other big celebrity
- 25:55Speaker 2: event the three X presidents is your hometown of Chicago.
- 25:59Speaker 2: The Obama Library opens today. It looks idious, but all
- 26:03Speaker 2: these ex presidents of Bruce Springsteen, all these other celebrities
- 26:06Speaker 2: are there. Have you seen have you seen what it
- 26:09Speaker 2: looks like that Obama Library.
- 26:11Speaker 5: Yeah, it's kind of ugly, kind of it's very ugly,
- 26:15Speaker 5: you know. I you know, I haven't physically seen that.
- 26:19Speaker 5: I've seen some pictures of it. And then of course
- 26:21Speaker 5: they you know, gee, who would have thought Justicago would
- 26:23Speaker 5: have cost over runs, but currently a lot of the
- 26:26Speaker 5: huge cost over runs. Yeah, it costs a billion dollars.
- 26:29Speaker 5: I've heard or more that built that a billion dollars.
- 26:33Speaker 5: It's a lot of money and a lot of the
- 26:34Speaker 5: contractors have been stiffed.
- 26:36Speaker 8: They haven't been paid.
- 26:37Speaker 2: Yeah, if you look at the building, that's a maybe
- 26:39Speaker 2: one hundred million dollar job at the most. Speaking of
- 26:43Speaker 2: speaking out Illinois, w they're crazy. Governor Pritzker, What is
- 26:46Speaker 2: it with him in these taxes on every industry? He
- 26:49Speaker 2: needs to be nice to.
- 26:51Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 26:52Speaker 5: One of the things that's really surprised me, Mark is
- 26:54Speaker 5: that you know, if you go to Silicon Valley or
- 26:56Speaker 5: you go to some of these tech centers in America,
- 26:58Speaker 5: Like in Massachusetts, they're all Democrats, you know, and the
- 27:01Speaker 5: CEOs you know, and that's changing a little bit with
- 27:05Speaker 5: Trump because they're meet with Trump now all the time.
- 27:07Speaker 5: But most of them are pretty liberal Democrats. And the
- 27:09Speaker 5: workers there are almost all Democrats. And yet who's taxing them?
- 27:13Speaker 5: Oh gee, Pittskergh has the first baby, pritzgrows courses. The
- 27:17Speaker 5: governor of Illinois. He has this big new tax on
- 27:20Speaker 5: social media use, on you know, if you're going to
- 27:22Speaker 5: use the Internet, they're going to tax you, and on
- 27:25Speaker 5: cryptocurrencies and data centers and so on. I'm like, well,
- 27:29Speaker 5: why why did these CEOs of these big you know,
- 27:33Speaker 5: trillion dollar you know, multimillion dollar, billion dollar tech companies
- 27:38Speaker 5: give all their money Democrats and then they turn around
- 27:40Speaker 5: and stab them in the back.
- 27:41Speaker 2: Well, you know, the blue collar workers all Democrats, after
- 27:44Speaker 2: they saw what was going on, switched over the Republicans,
- 27:47Speaker 2: much of the Hispanic community. So now the tech industry
- 27:49Speaker 2: will switch over to Republicans.
- 27:52Speaker 5: I think that you're going to see that. And you know,
- 27:55Speaker 5: by the way, I just have to say because this
- 27:56Speaker 5: happened last Friday, so we haven't talked since then, but
- 27:59Speaker 5: you know, it happened with the SpaceX ipo two trillion
- 28:03Speaker 5: dollar company. Here's a guy who came to the United
- 28:05Speaker 5: States as an immigrant. He wasn't poor, but he wasn't rich.
- 28:08Speaker 5: You know, they were kind of middle class family. I
- 28:10Speaker 5: think he started as like a welder, and now he's,
- 28:12Speaker 5: you know, the richest guy in the world. He's developed
- 28:16Speaker 5: these incredible technologies and businesses that made did you see
- 28:20Speaker 5: five thousand people almost who were made millionaires because of
- 28:24Speaker 5: Eloud Musk and some of them were people were like
- 28:26Speaker 5: just frontline workers at SpaceX, blue collar workers millionaires.
- 28:30Speaker 2: Yeah, this hatred for him. Some of these these democrats
- 28:34Speaker 2: think that the money he makes, he's taking it from
- 28:36Speaker 2: somebody else. I don't think they realize he's just earning it.
- 28:39Speaker 2: It's not coming.
- 28:40Speaker 5: Out of anywhere. Yeah, this is a very good point.
- 28:44Speaker 5: You see, we view you know, as free market supply set.
- 28:49Speaker 5: We view as id have increased the production, increase create
- 28:53Speaker 5: something out of nothing.
- 28:53Speaker 8: That's the other thing.
- 28:54Speaker 5: You know, he comes into the country with nothing and
- 28:57Speaker 5: he creates a two trillion dollar business. It's mind numbing
- 29:01Speaker 5: and out of nothing, I mean, and that is what
- 29:04Speaker 5: free market capitalism is all about.
- 29:06Speaker 2: Now, windows a Warren and those types. She was yelling
- 29:09Speaker 2: that all this money, why just three hundred billion of
- 29:12Speaker 2: them would take care of all the homeless? Did they
- 29:15Speaker 2: not understand that they've spent three hundred billion on homelessness
- 29:18Speaker 2: a thousand times and it hasn't done anything to help
- 29:21Speaker 2: they misspend all the money.
- 29:23Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, the best way to help the homeless get.
- 29:25Speaker 8: Them a job.
- 29:29Speaker 2: But does government spending is just you know, Doze was
- 29:33Speaker 2: a good idea. Will we ever get that under control?
- 29:36Speaker 2: I mean, we overpaid by like ten thousand percent for
- 29:38Speaker 2: every government project and the work stinks.
- 29:42Speaker 5: Well, I've been you know, trying to do that for
- 29:46Speaker 5: forty years in my career, get cut government spending, and
- 29:48Speaker 5: I've kind of struck out. So do you have any
- 29:50Speaker 5: good new strategies?
- 29:53Speaker 2: Yeah? Let the private sector do it?
- 29:55Speaker 5: Yeah? Right, I mean I think you on Musk. You know,
- 29:59Speaker 5: I don't know him for personally, I've never rerectually met
- 30:01Speaker 5: him personally, but I'm sure he was frustrated because when
- 30:03Speaker 5: you're a CEO, you come in and say, you know,
- 30:05Speaker 5: do this, do that, you can get this done, blah
- 30:07Speaker 5: blah blah.
- 30:07Speaker 11: You can't do that.
- 30:08Speaker 8: Government.
- 30:08Speaker 5: It's just like they're stucked. They can't get out of
- 30:11Speaker 5: this mode. Even then, when they know they're wasting money,
- 30:13Speaker 5: they keep Congress keeps authorizing money for the programs, and
- 30:16Speaker 5: then nobody ever's punished for stealing the money from the taxpayers.
- 30:20Speaker 5: And so you have fraud rates of these government programs,
- 30:24Speaker 5: sometimes twenty five percent fraud rates. I mean, can you
- 30:27Speaker 5: imagine running a business that you have twenty five percent
- 30:29Speaker 5: fraud rate? You'd be out of business in two weeks.
- 30:32Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, Steve Moore, great stuff, and you got to
- 30:37Speaker 2: do a new book. The Trump Economic Miracle is a
- 30:39Speaker 2: great book. Everybody should go buy it, but are working
- 30:41Speaker 2: on an update of it.
- 30:44Speaker 5: Well it's a miracle. I'm just sitting back watching it happen.
- 30:48Speaker 5: And look, if this piece deal works out, boy, it's
- 30:51Speaker 5: gonna be good for everybody. And you know, I was
- 30:53Speaker 5: on CNM last night you know why Trump is so bad.
- 30:56Speaker 5: I'm like, like, you're the people for the last fifty
- 30:57Speaker 5: years have been talking about no nukes, no nukes, and
- 30:59Speaker 5: out Trump is doing that.
- 31:00Speaker 2: And you're a custom Well you are a brave guy
- 31:03Speaker 2: going he's been going on CNN for you.
- 31:05Speaker 9: Wow.
- 31:08Speaker 2: Well, great stuff, Steve Moore, Thanks for being with us.
- 31:10Speaker 2: We'll talk again soon. Okay, thanks, take care. Everybody, get
- 31:14Speaker 2: his book, The Trump Economic Miracle, and sign up for
- 31:17Speaker 2: that daily briefing. It is the best news and analysis.
- 31:20Speaker 2: You just go to Unleash Prosperity dot com and just
- 31:24Speaker 2: sign it's called the Hotline. Just sign it's free. It'll
- 31:26Speaker 2: come right to your email Unleash Prosperity dot com. So
- 31:30Speaker 2: the Knick's parade is underway. On a float, is Mom
- 31:34Speaker 2: Donnie waving to people. They got these floats with the
- 31:37Speaker 2: players on it and somewhere on the top of those
- 31:40Speaker 2: big double decker buses. But a lot of the superstars
- 31:44Speaker 2: from the past and a lot of the other big names,
- 31:46Speaker 2: they're riding in cars. And the problem is if you're
- 31:50Speaker 2: in that crowd, like you know, ten people back are
- 31:52Speaker 2: thirty people back, You can't see everybody's head. You know,
- 31:55Speaker 2: cars kind of low, so they're not raised up high
- 31:58Speaker 2: like on a float. But we'll keep an eye on
- 32:01Speaker 2: the parade for you. Now, the big thing you're going
- 32:02Speaker 2: to want to hear is the ceremony. Once they all
- 32:05Speaker 2: get to City Hall, that's where they're going to do
- 32:07Speaker 2: the big ceremony. The players and everybody will speak and
- 32:10Speaker 2: they'll get the award. Alicia Keys will sing live. She's
- 32:13Speaker 2: going to sing Empire State of Mind, and that's what
- 32:15Speaker 2: you want to hear. We'll bring it to you live.
- 32:18Speaker 2: Should start around eleven thirty, but just be listening here.
- 32:21Speaker 2: We'll cover it live for you on and coming up
- 32:23Speaker 2: to the next hour, Jimmy Faylor will be with us.
- 32:26Speaker 2: We'll talk to him about the Nicks. It's all just
- 32:28Speaker 2: ahead on seven to ten wor.
- 32:31Speaker 1: Now more Mark Simone on seven.
- 32:34Speaker 2: Ten Well parade is going on now. We'll be covering
- 32:40Speaker 2: it live for you. We'll switch to our reporter down
- 32:42Speaker 2: there in the next hour and then the big thing
- 32:44Speaker 2: is the ceremony at City Hall with all the players
- 32:47Speaker 2: and all that, and we'll broadcast it live. You could
- 32:50Speaker 2: actually hear it live here. You know, we have a
- 32:52Speaker 2: sponsor called Air Tasker. You know, they're very good. If
- 32:55Speaker 2: you need anything like professional service. You need somebody to
- 32:58Speaker 2: fix something in your house, you need a plumber, you
- 33:00Speaker 2: need this, you need that, you need something to do
- 33:03Speaker 2: something for you, you go to Air Tasker and they'll
- 33:06Speaker 2: do anything anything you need. So apparently they were getting
- 33:09Speaker 2: a million requests the last couple of days. Because if
- 33:12Speaker 2: you need somebody to wait in line somewhere. They'll do
- 33:16Speaker 2: it for you. And so they're getting a million requests
- 33:20Speaker 2: people hiring them to have somebody wait in line at
- 33:22Speaker 2: the Knicks parade, a line holder waiting line for Nix tickets,
- 33:26Speaker 2: waiting line for Nick souvenirs. You know, you gotta wait
- 33:28Speaker 2: in line like an hour at the store. So you
- 33:30Speaker 2: apparently air Tasker got more business than they expected, people
- 33:35Speaker 2: wanting people to wait in line for Nick stuff. Actually
- 33:37Speaker 2: they would use them for a motor vehicle department, that
- 33:40Speaker 2: passport office, any place you got to wait in line.
- 33:43Speaker 2: But it's a good sponsored Air Tasker coming up in
- 33:46Speaker 2: the next hour, Jimmy Fayley will be with us. We'll
- 33:48Speaker 2: talk about the Nicks. We'll switch down live to the parade,
- 33:53Speaker 2: and then we'll go totally live to the City Hall ceremony.
- 33:57Speaker 2: You'll hear the entire ceremony here. Alicia Ki is going
- 34:00Speaker 2: to perform. There'll be lots of Knicks talking. They'll get
- 34:03Speaker 2: the award. It's the first Knicks parade ever in history Land.
- 34:07Speaker 2: They won the championship in seventy three, but city couldn't
- 34:10Speaker 2: afford a parade back then, so it was just a party.
- 34:13Speaker 5: Now.
- 34:13Speaker 2: It's a full parade, millions of people down there, so
- 34:17Speaker 2: don't go away. We'll bring you that a whole lot more.
- 34:20Speaker 2: It's Mark Simone here every morning ten to noon on
- 34:23Speaker 2: seven to ten WR.
- 34:25Speaker 1: They'll Mark Simone Show Live from the WR Lifeback studios.
- 34:32Speaker 2: Hey, we'll bring you the next ceremony at City Hall
- 34:36Speaker 2: live bottom of the hour it might start, So we're
- 34:38Speaker 2: going to be covering it all live with us right now.
- 34:41Speaker 2: The great comedian, the brilliant talk show host Jimmy Fayla.
- 34:45Speaker 2: You can listen to him every weeknight. You should listen
- 34:48Speaker 2: to him every weeknight nine to midnight on seven to
- 34:52Speaker 2: ten WR, and then make sure you watch his Saturday
- 34:54Speaker 2: night show, Fox News Channel ten o'clock. It is the
- 34:58Speaker 2: best late night show in t television. It opens with
- 35:02Speaker 2: the single best monologue in television. It's every Saturday night
- 35:05Speaker 2: at ten Fox News Channel. But make sure you're listening
- 35:07Speaker 2: tonight w R nine to midnight. Jimmy Fayla, How you doing?
- 35:13Speaker 5: My man?
- 35:14Speaker 10: Uh Me and you might be the only two sober
- 35:16Speaker 10: people in this city right now with the ticker tape
- 35:19Speaker 10: parade going down the block. I was, I came in early.
- 35:23Speaker 10: I had an early morning TV today.
- 35:26Speaker 7: There were people.
- 35:27Speaker 10: Drinking twelve packs on a five to five train this morning.
- 35:31Speaker 8: What America.
- 35:33Speaker 10: America is back drinking and they were drinking bud Lights,
- 35:37Speaker 10: by the way, so we really are back because.
- 35:39Speaker 7: Bud Light's acceptable again.
- 35:40Speaker 11: It great.
- 35:40Speaker 8: It was a feel good moment.
- 35:42Speaker 10: It was a moment of redemption for the city and
- 35:44Speaker 10: for the country.
- 35:45Speaker 2: Yeah, be honest, is it too much? Too much? With
- 35:48Speaker 2: the Knicks already? Have we had enough of this?
- 35:52Speaker 10: We haven't done this in fifty three years. Man, Okay,
- 35:55Speaker 10: this would be like if Joe Biden completed a sentence.
- 35:59Speaker 7: Okay, the world is going to take notice.
- 36:03Speaker 10: Okay, it's gonna get people just for the historic implications.
- 36:07Speaker 10: And I get it if you're not like a die
- 36:09Speaker 10: hard guy who hangs out at the garden.
- 36:10Speaker 7: Yet you saw it, you were excited for the city
- 36:13Speaker 7: and you moved on.
- 36:14Speaker 10: But for these people, this is one of the big
- 36:16Speaker 10: trappings of the whole thing, is you get that residual
- 36:20Speaker 10: partying effect, you get to you know, you get the
- 36:22Speaker 10: city whole experience. You know, and the Knicks are ride
- 36:25Speaker 10: and high because mom Donnie hasn't told them he's going
- 36:27Speaker 10: to confiscate sixty percent of their bonuses. Yet it's gonna
- 36:30Speaker 10: be a totally different ceremony. Yeah, it's gonna changed dramatically.
- 36:35Speaker 7: You know.
- 36:36Speaker 2: Uh, Saturday night there was a lot of violence and
- 36:39Speaker 2: people arrested, a couple of shootings, a bus set on fire.
- 36:42Speaker 2: Are we gonna be okay after this parade? There's millions
- 36:45Speaker 2: of people there. This is a difference.
- 36:47Speaker 10: Okay, This parade is happening at you know, ten to eleven
- 36:51Speaker 10: in the morning. Yeah, it's it's a little different than
- 36:54Speaker 10: winning the title at midnight on.
- 36:55Speaker 7: Saturday, where everybody was already hopped up.
- 36:58Speaker 10: Like the timing matters, they're giving us ten thousand cops.
- 37:01Speaker 7: I had faith in the city on this one. And
- 37:04Speaker 7: as bad as.
- 37:04Speaker 8: Those videos look, I'll have you know, like you.
- 37:06Speaker 10: Know that that was a five on a scale of
- 37:09Speaker 10: like one to Philadelphia.
- 37:11Speaker 8: Okay, the Eagles.
- 37:13Speaker 10: Win a playoff game, the overrunder on police horses getting
- 37:16Speaker 10: punched as like twelve and a half in Vegas, Right,
- 37:20Speaker 10: that's the idea that we're out a bus and.
- 37:22Speaker 8: A couple of cabs. I mean, we'll recover.
- 37:25Speaker 2: Yeah. Uh, you know, last time they won a championship,
- 37:29Speaker 2: it was nineteen seventy three. There was no parade. The
- 37:31Speaker 2: city couldn't afford it then, so they just threw a party.
- 37:34Speaker 10: Wo So well, yeah, you would have got mugged on
- 37:38Speaker 10: the route back then, it was you didn't nobody was showing,
- 37:41Speaker 10: nobody was trusting anything getting thrown out a window in
- 37:44Speaker 10: nineteen seventy three New York City. And that's before Gerald
- 37:47Speaker 10: Ford told us to go screw. I mean, think about that.
- 37:50Speaker 10: But that long ago. So that's why they were as
- 37:53Speaker 10: hopped up as they are. And I listen, I think
- 37:56Speaker 10: it's cool because I like civic pride and this city
- 37:58Speaker 10: hasn't had any in all a long time, so the
- 38:02Speaker 10: fact that we have something like this is kind of funny.
- 38:04Speaker 10: But what you're gonna notice is, you know, sports is
- 38:08Speaker 10: a very fair weather sting, and we have all of
- 38:11Speaker 10: these Knicks fans right now, you know. I know if
- 38:14Speaker 10: you were walking down this street a year ago, you
- 38:16Speaker 10: didn't see a lot of Knicks march on the sidewalk,
- 38:19Speaker 10: you know.
- 38:19Speaker 8: So it's a front running down.
- 38:21Speaker 10: If the Nets won the NBA title next year, half
- 38:24Speaker 10: of these people would be in Brooklyn with jay Z
- 38:26Speaker 10: being like, we did it, you know. But it's fun.
- 38:28Speaker 10: It's still fun.
- 38:30Speaker 2: Jimmy Fayla. I'll be totally honest. I was never a
- 38:32Speaker 2: basketball fan. I don't think I ever watched a basketball
- 38:35Speaker 2: game in my life. I started watching the Championships the Knicks,
- 38:39Speaker 2: and I kind of got hooked on it, and I
- 38:40Speaker 2: got to admit that I was always a baseball fan.
- 38:44Speaker 2: But that's kind of slow. This basketball stuff, it's pretty quick.
- 38:47Speaker 2: It's a lot easier to watch. They think it'll lot.
- 38:49Speaker 10: Yeah, Plus everyone seats, so everyone is sitting so close
- 38:53Speaker 10: to the court that there's a lot of good like
- 38:57Speaker 10: peripheral scenery. You see the celebrities in every you know,
- 39:01Speaker 10: you see the groupies. Do you want to you want
- 39:03Speaker 10: me to tell you real funny stories? You Marximone, you
- 39:05Speaker 10: missed to New York. You have the high security clearance
- 39:07Speaker 10: there is. When Taylor Swift went to the game last
- 39:10Speaker 10: week at the Garden, a lot of people players specifically too,
- 39:14Speaker 10: were mad that she was there because she.
- 39:16Speaker 7: Was sitting in three seats that normally have the hottest.
- 39:20Speaker 10: Groupies from the history of the NBA. It's right by
- 39:24Speaker 10: the bench, so there's a lot of there are a
- 39:27Speaker 10: lot of players that were.
- 39:28Speaker 7: Actually bummed out to see Taylor Swift there.
- 39:30Speaker 10: Especially because she was in Cleveland rooting for the Calves
- 39:32Speaker 10: with Travis Kelcey.
- 39:33Speaker 5: On the round.
- 39:34Speaker 8: You're right, Yeah, she was there in a.
- 39:36Speaker 10: Caves t shirt in the second round, and then she
- 39:38Speaker 10: showed up like miss New York. No, I'm gonna have
- 39:41Speaker 10: my wedding here, no one buys it.
- 39:43Speaker 2: So, oh, you know, you're right. I never thought of
- 39:45Speaker 2: She's like a pandering Chuck Schumer type politician, like totally, and.
- 39:50Speaker 10: We could have had some rap video vixen sitting courtside,
- 39:54Speaker 10: you know, like real looking Kardashians, but instead we got
- 39:58Speaker 10: Taylor Swift and her pretend Nick fan for yeah.
- 40:01Speaker 2: You know, and you're right, those baseball groupies are kind
- 40:04Speaker 2: of rough around the edges.
- 40:07Speaker 8: Yeah, it's a different animal, man.
- 40:09Speaker 10: But in the NBA, I will tell you this man
- 40:11Speaker 10: they have if you're getting it, if you get into
- 40:13Speaker 10: watching it, as you know, very fast paced, but nothing
- 40:17Speaker 10: matters till the last three minutes, and these playoffs proved it.
- 40:20Speaker 10: I mean the next you know, how many games would
- 40:22Speaker 10: you normally shut off if somebody was down twenty nine points.
- 40:25Speaker 8: And they won the game.
- 40:26Speaker 10: So like this past Saturday when the Knicks we're playing
- 40:28Speaker 10: an our TV show was on.
- 40:30Speaker 7: You know, they were like.
- 40:31Speaker 10: Well, hopefully it's a blowout and then you'll get more
- 40:33Speaker 10: ratings because people are shut it off.
- 40:34Speaker 8: I'm like, they're not going to shut it off.
- 40:35Speaker 10: Because if they came back from twenty nine, you're not
- 40:38Speaker 10: going to shut it off as they're down by thirty.
- 40:39Speaker 8: You know. But it worked out. We had a good one.
- 40:42Speaker 10: And by the way, I have to tell you this,
- 40:43Speaker 10: I meant to say this, said hello, we had a
- 40:45Speaker 10: family come to the taping last week that listens to
- 40:47Speaker 10: you pretty religiously here on the radio.
- 40:50Speaker 7: And they're like, we didn't.
- 40:51Speaker 11: Know who you were.
- 40:51Speaker 8: We're some own people.
- 40:53Speaker 10: Go get out of here.
- 40:56Speaker 2: Yeah right, Jimmy fail does he Stargeant Slaughter. He does
- 40:59Speaker 2: the best late night show in television. It's Saturday nights
- 41:01Speaker 2: at ten, but they tape at Friday evening and you
- 41:05Speaker 2: can go. It's free. You can come sit in the audience,
- 41:07Speaker 2: meet all kinds of celebrities. And where do they get
- 41:09Speaker 2: the tickets?
- 41:11Speaker 10: So the tickets are at Foxacross America dot com. Fox
- 41:16Speaker 10: across America dot com.
- 41:17Speaker 8: They're free. You just got to go there and register.
- 41:18Speaker 10: This week Friday night taping, Boy George's.
- 41:21Speaker 8: On the show. Remember boy George, Yeah.
- 41:23Speaker 10: Form a chameleon boy George, probably coming to steal some
- 41:26Speaker 10: of his jackets out of my closet.
- 41:28Speaker 7: He think, Hey, where'd you get this? Now?
- 41:30Speaker 11: No else is on this week?
- 41:32Speaker 8: From the Yeah, go ahead, you take it away.
- 41:33Speaker 2: I was gonna say, if you want to go, you
- 41:35Speaker 2: invite some people. Go get the tickets. They're free. You
- 41:38Speaker 2: don't have to tell them they're free. You just say, hey,
- 41:40Speaker 2: I've arranged for us to go to Fox and meet
- 41:42Speaker 2: Jimmy Faylor will sit in the audience. It's a just
- 41:45Speaker 2: go to foxacross America dot com, get the tickets, Fox
- 41:48Speaker 2: across America. Who else is on this week?
- 41:51Speaker 8: Oh?
- 41:51Speaker 10: From the remember of the movie American Pie. Shannon Elizabeth,
- 41:55Speaker 10: the star of the movie, the woman who played the
- 41:58Speaker 10: funny story because she was a goddess. In the movie
- 42:01Speaker 10: American Pie, she plays the exchange student who's the female lead.
- 42:05Speaker 10: She actually has an OnlyFans. Now, I'm gonna have to
- 42:07Speaker 10: go research that for the for the interview. But no,
- 42:11Speaker 10: she's she's a big, you know, big Hollywood gal. And
- 42:14Speaker 10: there's a rapper this week, Walk a Flock of Flame,
- 42:17Speaker 10: So walk a Flock of Flame. Boy George, Shannon, Elizabeth,
- 42:21Speaker 10: and I might be wearing like a zebra printjacket because
- 42:23Speaker 10: if boy George is on, nothing I wear is going
- 42:25Speaker 10: to be distracting.
- 42:26Speaker 2: Yeah, so I notice your guess. Yeah, it's always a
- 42:29Speaker 2: big name. It's always a very funny person, and it's
- 42:33Speaker 2: always a hot looking woman. You always seem to work
- 42:34Speaker 2: that into the guest line.
- 42:36Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 42:36Speaker 10: Funny thing about TV mark is people like to look
- 42:39Speaker 10: at it. It's a very ssual medium. You don't call
- 42:42Speaker 10: it fox news for nothing, pal who are bringing in
- 42:45Speaker 10: as many Foxes as I can get on the show.
- 42:47Speaker 8: I need a little ratings I can get.
- 42:49Speaker 2: Yeah, so that's why you say, well, how come MSNBC
- 42:53Speaker 2: doesn't get any ratings? Look at the women they have
- 42:56Speaker 2: on Oh it's yelling.
- 42:59Speaker 10: At yeah too much. They all look Every woman on
- 43:02Speaker 10: ms MSBC looks like Stephen Pulbert.
- 43:05Speaker 8: That's the point.
- 43:06Speaker 7: You're watching a Stephen.
- 43:07Speaker 8: Colbert lookalike contest half the time.
- 43:11Speaker 10: That just kills the mood when they're condescending.
- 43:13Speaker 7: To you, you know, And that's that's why we win.
- 43:16Speaker 10: Man.
- 43:16Speaker 7: They're they're good looking, intelligent people.
- 43:18Speaker 8: And they're making it work.
- 43:20Speaker 2: Yeah, CNN, MSNBC, they all look like angry librarians scolding you.
- 43:24Speaker 8: But that's a good point.
- 43:26Speaker 2: So who do you? I also listening to Jimmy Fayla
- 43:29Speaker 2: on the radio every weeknight nine to midnight, Big Show tonight.
- 43:32Speaker 2: Who does he have on tonight?
- 43:35Speaker 7: Oh?
- 43:35Speaker 9: Man?
- 43:36Speaker 10: So I think Larry Trump is back tonight? And uh
- 43:40Speaker 10: one of a comic.
- 43:40Speaker 8: I like a lot. Ali Breen who is?
- 43:43Speaker 10: She is a New York stand up comedy legend for
- 43:46Speaker 10: her work at the comedy club Bar. She's a very
- 43:49Speaker 10: funny girl, but she's been doing stand up a long time,
- 43:52Speaker 10: Super funny, great hango like, she's a great after party
- 43:55Speaker 10: guest too.
- 43:56Speaker 8: You got to understand a.
- 43:57Speaker 10: Lot of these bookings on my show are it's just
- 44:00Speaker 10: who is a good atmosphere.
- 44:02Speaker 8: To hang out with?
- 44:02Speaker 10: Because if they're fun at the after party, they're fun.
- 44:05Speaker 8: On the air.
- 44:06Speaker 7: That's the point the people.
- 44:07Speaker 10: You know, you're not going to meet anybody who's really
- 44:09Speaker 10: fun to hang out with. It's the stiff on the air.
- 44:11Speaker 10: So that's really the metric. I booked people that are fun,
- 44:14Speaker 10: and if they're fun, it makes good TV.
- 44:16Speaker 2: All right, Well it's gonna be good stuff. Listen tonight
- 44:18Speaker 2: every weeknight, Jimmy fayl Is on WR nine to midnight.
- 44:22Speaker 2: It's a great show. And then make sure you're watch
- 44:23Speaker 2: this Saturday night show Fox News Channel ten o'clock every
- 44:27Speaker 2: Saturday night. Jimmy Fail, great stuff. Thanks for being with us.
- 44:31Speaker 7: You're the Battle Sea super buddy.
- 44:32Speaker 2: All right, take care. Oh let's go. The parade is
- 44:36Speaker 2: going on right now, the Canyon of Heroes, and millions
- 44:41Speaker 2: of people are there, and we've got our Ace correspondent
- 44:44Speaker 2: Natalie Migliore, who's at the scene. Natalie, are you there?
- 44:49Speaker 7: Oh?
- 44:49Speaker 6: I am there, but I gotta tell you, Mark, I
- 44:51Speaker 6: think I might be a little secondhand high here. Everybody
- 44:55Speaker 6: is celebrating by rolling up a jointing scene and really
- 45:02Speaker 6: this is quite an atmosphere around here. I'm still where
- 45:06Speaker 6: I've called you last time, along Broad along Warren Street.
- 45:11Speaker 6: I'm actually watching an MTA bus try to part the
- 45:15Speaker 6: seas of people to make it south down the street.
- 45:20Speaker 6: So crazy. It feels like every hour that we remain
- 45:24Speaker 6: here it gets a little bit crazier and a little
- 45:27Speaker 6: bit more packed.
- 45:28Speaker 2: And what would you say, The crowd age wise is
- 45:31Speaker 2: pretty It's a pretty young.
- 45:32Speaker 6: Crowd where I am right now, it seems pretty young. Yeah,
- 45:36Speaker 6: I see a lot of young people. I mean, earlier
- 45:38Speaker 6: this morning I was talking to older people though, who
- 45:41Speaker 6: were saying that they've been waiting for decades. So see
- 45:45Speaker 6: the nixed win championships. So there's definitely a mixed croud
- 45:49Speaker 6: throughoute the day. But a lot of what I'm seeing
- 45:51Speaker 6: right now along West Broadway is pretty young people streaming
- 45:54Speaker 6: up and down the streets. So they're kind of fighting
- 45:57Speaker 6: the curring.
- 45:57Speaker 2: So you said you can smell pot everywhere? Are you
- 45:59Speaker 2: seeing drinking there everywhere?
- 46:02Speaker 6: Not as much drinking. There are some guys who are
- 46:05Speaker 6: you know, the good old classic put it in a
- 46:08Speaker 6: paper bag and take a few SIPs out of a fit
- 46:11Speaker 6: while the cops are at looking. But no, there's definitely
- 46:14Speaker 6: that smell of pot in the air. It's been like
- 46:17Speaker 6: that all morning, from the time I started up the
- 46:20Speaker 6: street on Chambers all the way down to the Oculus
- 46:23Speaker 6: and now over here on West Broadway. Yeah, people are
- 46:26Speaker 6: spirits are high, but maybe so.
- 46:28Speaker 8: Are the people more well.
- 46:30Speaker 2: Okay, so now what about the police present? A lot
- 46:33Speaker 2: of cops, right, I hope there's a lot of cops here.
- 46:35Speaker 6: Have you police presence?
- 46:36Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 46:36Speaker 6: A few minutes ago, a few moments before we got
- 46:39Speaker 6: on the air. Actually I watched police officers start moving
- 46:43Speaker 6: people off one of the sidewalks. They were asking them
- 46:46Speaker 6: to move, and you know, sometimes people get combative, but
- 46:48Speaker 6: everybody listened, everybody followed orders, they got up, they left.
- 46:53Speaker 6: So if there's no uh, there's not a lot of
- 46:56Speaker 6: tension from what I'm seeing right now.
- 46:59Speaker 2: Hey, so they're expecting a million people, I'm hearing they
- 47:02Speaker 2: get got more like two to three million, maybe four million.
- 47:04Speaker 2: Oh yeah, And they said at seven point thirty all
- 47:06Speaker 2: the slots to be watched the parade were full. So
- 47:09Speaker 2: all those millions excess people, where did they go? Where
- 47:12Speaker 2: are they?
- 47:13Speaker 6: They overspilled mark out into Lower Manhattan. They are literally
- 47:19Speaker 6: crawling all over the city. They are, I mean like
- 47:25Speaker 6: they are. So the Oculus is an avenue off of
- 47:29Speaker 6: where the parade route is that was filled to the brim,
- 47:33Speaker 6: filled to the brim with people just packed like sardines.
- 47:36Speaker 6: You go a little bit further west on the West Broadway,
- 47:39Speaker 6: the people are streaming a steady stream, but they're not uh,
- 47:44Speaker 6: they're not completely tacked in, and it's still not easy
- 47:48Speaker 6: to make your way up and down the city. So
- 47:50Speaker 6: within these three this three block radius. That's where all
- 47:55Speaker 6: the people went. They just want to stand as close
- 47:58Speaker 6: to the parade as they can, And those people by
- 48:00Speaker 6: the oculus were hoping that they would be close to
- 48:03Speaker 6: us if they climbed on a garbage truck, which we
- 48:06Speaker 6: saw people climbing on garbage trucks, or if they climbed
- 48:09Speaker 6: on a on a traffic light. They were just hoping
- 48:13Speaker 6: to at least catch some sort of glimpse between the
- 48:15Speaker 6: buildings of the parade.
- 48:18Speaker 2: Wow, so they're not going home and all that. Uh well,
- 48:23Speaker 2: it looks pretty I'm looking at it now. It looks
- 48:25Speaker 2: pretty chaotic down there, all those fans.
- 48:28Speaker 5: But yeah, I mean yeah.
- 48:30Speaker 2: Well, so when do you think the paray will end?
- 48:32Speaker 2: Because we're waiting for the city hall ceremony.
- 48:35Speaker 6: I mean, we're getting word that they're that they're running behind,
- 48:40Speaker 6: so no word yet on they've already started making their
- 48:43Speaker 6: way up, but a lot of people are actually there.
- 48:48Speaker 6: It almost seems like people are making their way uptown now,
- 48:52Speaker 6: so seemingly their hopes have been dashed and they've gotten
- 48:55Speaker 6: word that the parade is almost over and they're not
- 49:00Speaker 6: going to be able to even catch a lens.
- 49:03Speaker 2: These millions of people do they know to stay down
- 49:05Speaker 2: there that we don't. The police don't come to Midtown.
- 49:07Speaker 2: Have they been told this?
- 49:09Speaker 6: Well you better broadcast in Mark. Maybe I'll walk along
- 49:12Speaker 6: the street and ask them all please just stay down here.
- 49:15Speaker 6: Mark Simone does not want you up here.
- 49:17Speaker 2: Yeah, tell them not to come above above the village.
- 49:22Speaker 6: Well, it'll be difficult for them to get above Canal
- 49:24Speaker 6: Street anyway until the subways start running. They're gonna have
- 49:28Speaker 6: to walk their way up and then get on a
- 49:32Speaker 6: subway and come around or catch an uber, which could
- 49:35Speaker 6: be very expensive at that point, because you know, all
- 49:38Speaker 6: these millions of people are trying to leave the area
- 49:41Speaker 6: at once.
- 49:43Speaker 2: All right, well, good work, Natalie Migli. Are you keep
- 49:45Speaker 2: us posted if anything happens down there?
- 49:48Speaker 8: Yeah, thank you, Mark, thanks for being with us.
- 49:50Speaker 2: Take care. So the big thing is the city Hall
- 49:53Speaker 2: ceremony supposed to start about eleven and thirty may run
- 49:55Speaker 2: a little behind, but once the ceremony starts, that's the part.
- 49:58Speaker 2: That's the thing you want to hear, because the parade
- 50:01Speaker 2: is just a lot of cheering and waving, but the
- 50:04Speaker 2: ceremony will bring it to you. Live here on. We'll
- 50:08Speaker 2: take some calls next to eight hundred three to two
- 50:11Speaker 2: one zero seven ten is the number eight hundred three
- 50:14Speaker 2: two one zero seven ten on seven ten WR. If
- 50:19Speaker 2: you're listening to Mark on the iHeartRadio.
- 50:21Speaker 1: App, save time and tap the preset button.
- 50:23Speaker 12: Now.
- 50:24Speaker 1: Now back to the Mark Simone show on wor Well.
- 50:29Speaker 2: The Knicks parade continues, and uh, look, I throw it
- 50:33Speaker 2: a little late. But once they get the city Hall,
- 50:34Speaker 2: they start the big ceremony. We'll bring that to you
- 50:38Speaker 2: live here, and we'll get a lot of listeners around
- 50:40Speaker 2: the country. And you go, what Nicks. It's like, you
- 50:43Speaker 2: have no idea. You have to be here. It's like
- 50:45Speaker 2: this sweep in the city. They got these big stores
- 50:48Speaker 2: that sell all the Knicks hats and the merchandise. You
- 50:50Speaker 2: have to wait in line two three hours just to
- 50:52Speaker 2: get in the store. It's Nicks fever. It's unlike anything
- 50:55Speaker 2: in sports I've ever seen in New York. Let's take
- 50:59Speaker 2: some calls. Let's go to Robert in Westchester. Robert, how
- 51:02Speaker 2: you doing all right?
- 51:04Speaker 5: Mark? And good morning Mark. With the Iranian agreement, the
- 51:07Speaker 5: one thing that stands out that makes me uneasy is
- 51:10Speaker 5: the Iranians insisted, well, we can dig up the nuclear dust,
- 51:15Speaker 5: but they want it destroyed on site.
- 51:18Speaker 2: Well, that's actually better. That's better for us too, That's
- 51:20Speaker 2: the way we like to do it.
- 51:22Speaker 5: I The only thing I hope, Mark is that our
- 51:24Speaker 5: military will be there to protect those technicians.
- 51:26Speaker 2: That's all. Yeah, we've done it before. We've we're pretty
- 51:30Speaker 2: good at this. We've we've done it before. It's it's easy.
- 51:34Speaker 8: But don't they bring it back so suddenly you're.
- 51:37Speaker 2: An expert on nuclear dust and how to destroy it.
- 51:40Speaker 2: Now we can, we can, we can transport it back
- 51:44Speaker 2: and destroy it here, but they prefer that we destroy
- 51:47Speaker 2: it right there. It's a lot safer obviously than trying
- 51:50Speaker 2: to transport it back. And the last time we had
- 51:52Speaker 2: to do this was when Kadafi gave up all his
- 51:54Speaker 2: nuclear dust in Libya. We got special teams that go
- 51:57Speaker 2: in and destroy it right there. Transfer aarding it is
- 52:00Speaker 2: a nightmare. I mean, we can do it, but you
- 52:02Speaker 2: don't want to have to do.
- 52:03Speaker 7: That if you don't, Yeah, I agree.
- 52:05Speaker 2: I want to listensten, listen, listen. Leave this to the experts.
- 52:09Speaker 2: Let them take care of this.
- 52:11Speaker 5: I'm just worried about our people, I.
- 52:13Speaker 2: Know, but we've already been on the ground in this
- 52:16Speaker 2: particular conflict twice already. Remember we had to rescue the
- 52:19Speaker 2: two pilots separately. We sent in ground troops, we built
- 52:23Speaker 2: an air base in there. We're able to protect them.
- 52:26Speaker 2: The way they do it is it's pretty uh easy
- 52:31Speaker 2: for the military. They wherever they're going to be. Let's
- 52:35Speaker 2: say they're going to sit where they're going to destroy
- 52:36Speaker 2: the nuclear dust, they draw a two mile circle around
- 52:40Speaker 2: that area, and then they surround that two mile circle
- 52:45Speaker 2: with everything, airplanes, drones, and they call it the circle
- 52:49Speaker 2: of death. Anybody enters that circle, they're killed instantly. That's
- 52:54Speaker 2: what we did when we rescued the pilots. They set
- 52:55Speaker 2: up that circle of death. Remember that pilot rescue, the
- 52:59Speaker 2: one was up in the mountains. We went in there
- 53:02Speaker 2: and built an air base, a temporary airbase. We brought
- 53:04Speaker 2: in planes, helicopters, all kinds of equipment, and they had
- 53:08Speaker 2: to be there on the ground operating like that for
- 53:10Speaker 2: almost a whole day. But we set up that two
- 53:12Speaker 2: mile circle around him. That perimeter protected it and shot
- 53:16Speaker 2: anybody that tried to come into it. So they're pretty good. Actually,
- 53:20Speaker 2: they're perfect at removing nuclear material, destroying it on site.
- 53:25Speaker 2: Let's go to Vincent and Brooklyn Vincent, how you doing.
- 53:28Speaker 3: Good morning, Mark, Good morning, Mara. It's a real sign
- 53:31Speaker 3: of the times. As Mike pointed out that practically all
- 53:35Speaker 3: of Lower Manhattan, the subways, the streets are closed. Fifty
- 53:39Speaker 3: years ago before there was radical nut job leftist terrorism
- 53:44Speaker 3: and his Alamic terrorism. That wasn't necessary. They closed where
- 53:50Speaker 3: to start. The staging area was for the people in
- 53:52Speaker 3: the parade and the end and that was that people
- 53:55Speaker 3: were allowed to go to the work. That's a sign
- 53:57Speaker 3: of the times. I heard you speak early about how Obama,
- 54:01Speaker 3: the Obama people from y Obama are stiff and all
- 54:04Speaker 3: the contractors and everything they're not getting their money. Because
- 54:08Speaker 3: I'll put money if any of these contractors put in
- 54:13Speaker 3: file a civil complaint, a civil suit that they weren't paid,
- 54:17Speaker 3: all of Obama's crony's in that state and in that
- 54:20Speaker 3: city will go look up the nose of all these
- 54:24Speaker 3: contractors to find any bit of dirt and put them
- 54:29Speaker 3: on the hook. Mark. Something has to be like we
- 54:33Speaker 3: saw Saturday night when they lit that school bus on fire,
- 54:38Speaker 3: who's going to be responsible for paying out one hundred
- 54:42Speaker 3: and fifty thousand dollars for that school bus? And even
- 54:45Speaker 3: if they caught the person Alvin Bragg is going to
- 54:48Speaker 3: let them go, or even if there was a sham trial,
- 54:51Speaker 3: some corrupt Manhattan judge is going to let them go. Mark,
- 54:55Speaker 3: it would be great, and I hope he's working on it.
- 54:59Speaker 3: Donald Trump, the Justice Department, in the Judicial Department looked
- 55:03Speaker 3: into all these corrupt SOB judges and that gotta be
- 55:09Speaker 3: Something's got to be done because that bus company should
- 55:13Speaker 3: not be on the Hawk and we shouldn't have to
- 55:16Speaker 3: go through all these shenanigans that we're still going through
- 55:20Speaker 3: in the city because of people like Bondami, these two
- 55:24Speaker 3: other creeps. He's trying to get elected, these two creepy
- 55:27Speaker 3: women and Alvin Bragg Marg.
- 55:30Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, well, Vincent, great call, as always, thanks
- 55:33Speaker 2: for calling.
- 55:34Speaker 1: Now on sevent ten WOR live coverage of the City
- 55:39Speaker 1: Hall ceremony as the World chavon New York Nicks are
- 55:42Speaker 1: presented the Keys to the City sponsored by Nico's Forts,
- 55:47Speaker 1: Get your next Championship ball at nikcosports dot Com.
- 55:56Speaker 2: That's it, that's it. The guy can't say. And now
- 56:00Speaker 2: here's Mark Simone. Well, the music sounds good. So the
- 56:06Speaker 2: parade is winding down, it's heading towards City Hall. At
- 56:11Speaker 2: City Hall, they'll have the big ceremony that will cover
- 56:14Speaker 2: live for you. There's a band playing there. Now there's
- 56:19Speaker 2: half the seats are full. The players are still coming
- 56:22Speaker 2: up in the parade. When they get to City Hall,
- 56:25Speaker 2: they'll all take their seats and then the ceremony will
- 56:28Speaker 2: begin again. We'll bring it to you live. It's going
- 56:29Speaker 2: to be the players get to speak, the awards will
- 56:34Speaker 2: be given out, the trophy will be given out. Alicia
- 56:36Speaker 2: Keys will perform live. Should be pretty interesting stuff. You
- 56:41Speaker 2: could be like me where you weren't. I was never
- 56:43Speaker 2: a basketball fan. I never even watched basketball, but this
- 56:47Speaker 2: next stuff I started watching it, and boy, it was
- 56:52Speaker 2: the first series right before the championships. That was pretty exciting.
- 56:54Speaker 2: And then the championships series started, I was watching every game.
- 56:58Speaker 2: So there might be a lot of people like me
- 57:00Speaker 2: who suddenly got hooked on the Knicks suddenly became basketball fans.
- 57:05Speaker 2: And you know, if you're a big baseball fan like
- 57:09Speaker 2: I am, or a big football fan like I am,
- 57:12Speaker 2: those games are great, but they're kind of slow. There's
- 57:16Speaker 2: a lot of timeouts. In football, it takes four hours
- 57:21Speaker 2: to play the game. Baseball is very slow, but that
- 57:25Speaker 2: basketball stuff. It is fast, it keeps moving. I can
- 57:29Speaker 2: see why in the Twitter TikTok world it became like
- 57:33Speaker 2: the most popular sport. It just moves. It's fast. The
- 57:36Speaker 2: Knicks an amazing team in that they're always behind. I
- 57:43Speaker 2: started to figure this out during the first championship series,
- 57:45Speaker 2: that you think that's it, it's over. They're thirty points behind,
- 57:49Speaker 2: they got no shot. Even in the third quarter. They're
- 57:52Speaker 2: thirty points behind. Well, I might as well turn this off.
- 57:55Speaker 2: The Knicks come from behind every time. And that's a
- 57:58Speaker 2: real super talent. You know, it's one thing to get
- 58:00Speaker 2: ahead early in the game, but in the very end,
- 58:02Speaker 2: when you're way behind, to really take off and win
- 58:06Speaker 2: at the end, that's being, as Trump would say, a closer.
- 58:10Speaker 2: You got to be a closer. Being a real closer
- 58:12Speaker 2: is what makes a champion. Now, Texas they were great,
- 58:18Speaker 2: but it was a young, young team. They didn't have
- 58:21Speaker 2: the Knicks experience or and again they weren't closers. They
- 58:24Speaker 2: could get thirty points behind, at thirty points ahead. Those
- 58:29Speaker 2: San Antonio Spurs were amazing. Always thirty points ahead, forty
- 58:32Speaker 2: points ahead. First quarter, unbelievable. Second quarter, they start falling apart.
- 58:40Speaker 2: Third quarter they fall apart even more. Fourth quarter they
- 58:43Speaker 2: try to catch up, but then the Knicks just crushed them.
- 58:46Speaker 2: So the Knicks an amazing team. I'm forgetting his name, Bronson,
- 58:52Speaker 2: Jalen Bronson. That's how new I am to this. Jalen Bronson.
- 58:59Speaker 2: Unbelievable because comes some think he may end up being
- 59:03Speaker 2: the greatest Nick ever. That's a that's a big thing.
- 59:07Speaker 2: And Bronson is like the superstar of New York right now,
- 59:13Speaker 2: getting standing ovations everywhere he goes Yankee Stadium last night anyway,
- 59:19Speaker 2: So he'll be, uh, he'll be the star of this parade.
- 59:23Speaker 2: Looks like they're getting close to City Hall. Curtis is
- 59:26Speaker 2: going to come in a little wile, right, Is he
- 59:28Speaker 2: around somewhere or we're hunting him down? Curtis Curtis. Curtis
- 59:34Speaker 2: will be because the reason I say that, I think
- 59:36Speaker 2: he knows more about basketball than I do. But I
- 59:39Speaker 2: think there are a lot of this is the best
- 59:40Speaker 2: thing for New York, and it's the best thing for basketball.
- 59:45Speaker 2: You know, like golf was popular, but it wasn't that popular,
- 59:49Speaker 2: and then Tiger Woods came along, and as soon as
- 59:52Speaker 2: Tiger Woods took off, all of a sudden golf became
- 59:54Speaker 2: a lot more popular, especially with younger generations. It really
- 59:58Speaker 2: was a big thing for the game and self and
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: attendance and revenue and all. That's the same thing with
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: the Knicks for basketball. You know, the championship series was
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: getting about twenty million viewers, and then towards the end,
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: the final games were getting twenty four million viewers, which
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: is huge, huge. That's like beyond the Oscars, the Grammys
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: twenty four million. It hit almost twenty five million during
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: the final game. Now, this team, the New York Knicks,
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: the champions are going to the White House. That's part
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: of the deal. They will be the first NBA championship
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: team ever to go to the White House. That'll happen
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: probably the next week or two. Like with all these things, Yeah,
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: some players might refuse to go. I don't know, remember
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: the Patriots when they won and Bush was president and
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: they refuse to go. Well, the media try to use
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: that against Bush, but owner Bob Kraft pointed out, Hey,
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: when Clinton was the president, we had play players refused
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: to go to. When Obama was president, players refused to
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: go to happens all the time. Speaking of which, that's
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: the other big event today the Obama Library opening in Chicago.
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: Every ex president is there, all kinds of stars, Bruce
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: Springs for the Obama Presidential Library opening. They planned this
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: for a long time, this big opening star started, unbelievable opening.
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: They never counted on a Knicks parade that would drain
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: all the oxygen out of the media air for them.
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: The Obama Library is going to hardly get any coverage
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: because of the Knicks parade. Now. They could never must
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: have planned this six months ago. They couldn't and they
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: wanted to do it on the eve of June nineteenth,
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: June teenth, so that's why they picked the day. But
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: they never ever dreamed that this Knicks parade would be
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: so huge that nobody would Yeah, right now, if we
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: watch any channel, all they're showing is the Knicks parade,
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: not the Obama Museum coverage. What Oh, okay, Yeah, we're
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: gonna we're gonna take a break in. The parade is
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: running late, but I mean, I'm looking at it looks
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: like a ton of people there. But the big thing
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: is the ceremony. When they get to City Hall, the
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: ceremony begins, that's the part you want to hear. And
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: we'll bring it to your Live coming up just a
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: few minutes on seven to ten w r.
- 1:02:22Speaker 7: Mark.
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: Well, the parade looks like it's just well, it's kind
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: of stopped right now, but they're all going to head
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: to City Hall. The big ceremony will take place and
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: we'll bring it to your Live. This is it's running late,
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: so it's a later than usual. Our reporter Natalie Migliori
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: down there on the scene.
- 1:02:45Speaker 5: Natalie, are you there, Yeah, I'm there.
- 1:02:49Speaker 6: But people are starting to kind of leave Mark. Instead
- 1:02:52Speaker 6: of streaming downtown like we saw this morning for people
- 1:02:55Speaker 6: to get to the parade, they're starting to stream uptown.
- 1:02:59Speaker 6: I know that's uh, not what you're looking forward to,
- 1:03:02Speaker 6: but they're at least trying to make their their way
- 1:03:04Speaker 6: through the subways.
- 1:03:06Speaker 2: But does that mean they're leaving and breaking up and
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: going home?
- 1:03:10Speaker 6: Yeah, a lot of people. I've just heard one young
- 1:03:13Speaker 6: lady get off the phone and she said, Okay, I'm
- 1:03:16Speaker 6: probably gonna go home now, and like that was her plan.
- 1:03:20Speaker 6: So a lot of people just starting to sort of
- 1:03:23Speaker 6: break up. They've seen what they need to see, or
- 1:03:25Speaker 6: they've had enough. If they couldn't get in and they've left,
- 1:03:28Speaker 6: they've left the area.
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: Well, it also might be the kind of thing where
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: you just want to go there, say you were there,
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: get your TikTok, get your Instagram pictures, and then you
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: can leave and go home. But hopefully very well, yeah,
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: hopefully everybody goes home. We don't want any trouble like
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: Saturday night. How would you say the crowd is behavior wise?
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: They're fine.
- 1:03:48Speaker 6: The crow the crowd is pretty you know, in this
- 1:03:52Speaker 6: part of the route, or in this part of count
- 1:03:56Speaker 6: in a sense, we're about a block off the actual
- 1:03:59Speaker 6: parade route. The crowd is pretty well behaved and they're
- 1:04:03Speaker 6: calm and nobody. I haven't seen anybody yelling or anybody
- 1:04:07Speaker 6: getting into arguments with each other. People just want to
- 1:04:10Speaker 6: be here to have a good time, and they want
- 1:04:12Speaker 6: to celebrate this milestone.
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: So are there people down there making money like selling
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: the souvenirs and nick stuff?
- 1:04:19Speaker 10: Is?
- 1:04:19Speaker 6: Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah there this is if
- 1:04:23Speaker 6: you know New York City, anymok any opportunity to make
- 1:04:26Speaker 6: a buck. I saw one woman She had made like
- 1:04:31Speaker 6: very long NIX colored lanyards that people could put around
- 1:04:35Speaker 6: their nets, almost like a neck reef. There's a guy
- 1:04:39Speaker 6: selling T shirts left him right. One guy he was
- 1:04:42Speaker 6: trying to hustle the girl to buy his last T shirt.
- 1:04:45Speaker 6: She said, oh, I'll come back to you, and he said, no, no,
- 1:04:48Speaker 6: this is my last one. By the time he come back,
- 1:04:50Speaker 6: it's going to be gone. Whether he was right or wrong,
- 1:04:52Speaker 6: he definitely made He made out like a bandit for sure.
- 1:04:56Speaker 6: He had an empty bag by the time it was done. Yeah,
- 1:04:58Speaker 6: so people, definitely, I don't how to turn a buck
- 1:05:00Speaker 6: around here.
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: Four million people, not four million, but it looks like
- 1:05:03Speaker 2: it was a little more than one million, and they've
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: been there four or five hours. What about when people
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: have to go to the bathroom? What's going on down there?
- 1:05:11Speaker 6: Very limited? You could really only go to the bathroom
- 1:05:13Speaker 6: in certain parts of the city. And if you had
- 1:05:17Speaker 6: to go to the bathroom and you were ready in
- 1:05:19Speaker 6: the crowd, you couldn't leave. It was like New Year's
- 1:05:22Speaker 6: in Times Square, right, You got to get your depends
- 1:05:24Speaker 6: on you a diaper, and you got to sit there.
- 1:05:26Speaker 5: As long as you get.
- 1:05:27Speaker 6: Into the crowd, you gotta go. You know, you can't
- 1:05:30Speaker 6: you can't go, you gotta stay. That's really it, because
- 1:05:33Speaker 6: once you go, you go.
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: Millions of people there. So by along that parade with
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: did bodegas and restaurants and stores, and did they stay
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: open and try to make money off this?
- 1:05:42Speaker 6: Oh, yeah, for sure. I mean people were popping in
- 1:05:45Speaker 6: and out all morning, people waiting online. They were going
- 1:05:47Speaker 6: over to the bagel stores or the delis across the streets,
- 1:05:50Speaker 6: the bodegas across the streets from the line while their
- 1:05:52Speaker 6: friends were holding their spot, and they they totally I
- 1:05:58Speaker 6: would say they made bank. I mean, look, I'm not
- 1:05:59Speaker 6: the financial controller of the city, so I can't go
- 1:06:02Speaker 6: into all of our finances here, but I would say
- 1:06:05Speaker 6: that it was a pretty good boom for people, especially
- 1:06:08Speaker 6: people who couldn't get into the parade, who then went
- 1:06:11Speaker 6: into some places where you could sit down and eat
- 1:06:13Speaker 6: and grab a cup of coffee.
- 1:06:14Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: So I'm watching the parade. Seems to be frozen, like
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: everything stopped. They're not moving. Why is that?
- 1:06:23Speaker 6: You know, this is a backed up you know, and
- 1:06:26Speaker 6: sanitation follows them as the ticker tape Convetti comes down.
- 1:06:30Speaker 6: So there's a bunch of processes and then there could
- 1:06:32Speaker 6: be a delight getting into City Hall park. You know,
- 1:06:36Speaker 6: the mayor gave out six hundred tickets to people to
- 1:06:39Speaker 6: the general public. Then you have the media you have
- 1:06:41Speaker 6: these high profile players who are getting into the park. Yeah,
- 1:06:44Speaker 6: I got Alicia Keys, who's going to perform once they
- 1:06:46Speaker 6: all get there. So it could very well be a
- 1:06:48Speaker 6: little backup in logistics to make sure that everybody is
- 1:06:52Speaker 6: safely assembled into the park.
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: Yeah, let's like a pretty orderly crowd. No pushing, no shoving,
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: none of that.
- 1:06:58Speaker 6: No, I didn't see pushing her shit. And I got
- 1:07:00Speaker 6: to tell you, there were parts of the day where
- 1:07:02Speaker 6: people were packed into this crowd like sardines, and so
- 1:07:06Speaker 6: everybody was like, hey, hey, hey, we're all good, fam
- 1:07:08Speaker 6: It's all good. Nobody pushing or shoving or fighting or
- 1:07:12Speaker 6: picked her or screaming again. And I think everybody kind
- 1:07:13Speaker 6: of understood that there was this sense of organized chaos,
- 1:07:17Speaker 6: but it really was. It was very not organized. Not
- 1:07:22Speaker 6: a lot of people, especially in the beginning of the day,
- 1:07:23Speaker 6: who are waiting online before they even got through to
- 1:07:26Speaker 6: the parade ends. There was not a lot of directions.
- 1:07:30Speaker 6: Even the police officers were trying to figure out how
- 1:07:33Speaker 6: to direct people, how to control the crowd where they
- 1:07:35Speaker 6: actually needed to go for access points. So the morning
- 1:07:38Speaker 6: started with confusion and people just sort of accepting that, hey,
- 1:07:42Speaker 6: we're here, to celebrate, but we might not get in.
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: Yeah, so it looks cloudy out, but the weather held up.
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: That nobody got rained on in.
- 1:07:49Speaker 6: This parade, right, weather held up, And they're lucky they
- 1:07:53Speaker 6: did because they weren't allowed to bring umbrellas into this parade.
- 1:07:57Speaker 6: So yeah, there was a whole ban on large beds, umbrellas,
- 1:08:01Speaker 6: anything that might have been dangerous. So people got lucky.
- 1:08:04Speaker 6: They had to bring their raintm shows they were expecting rain.
- 1:08:07Speaker 6: And I'm sure those guys who were along the parade
- 1:08:10Speaker 6: route were probably posted up too. They maybe missed out
- 1:08:13Speaker 6: on making a few bucks because they're luckily for the
- 1:08:16Speaker 6: people who were standing out in the in the streets,
- 1:08:19Speaker 6: wasn't a found poor during this whole celebratory thing.
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: Well, so it's way behind schedule. Any word on when
- 1:08:25Speaker 2: the City Hall ceremony.
- 1:08:26Speaker 6: Will start, No word yet, we're still waiting. I think
- 1:08:30Speaker 6: that officials are just trying to take a word from
- 1:08:35Speaker 6: word from security and the NYPD and sort of work
- 1:08:38Speaker 6: in tandem to see when or how they can safely
- 1:08:44Speaker 6: ensure that everybody celebrates within City Hall Park. It's a
- 1:08:47Speaker 6: lot of people in a very concentrated area.
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, well stay safe, down there and we'll
- 1:08:53Speaker 2: maybe we'll check in with you again. All right, Natalie,
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: take care. Actually we can take a listen, right, we
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: can take a listen to the audio. This is the parade,
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: the actual sound. It's just three hours of this. That's
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: why we'll bring you the city Hall ceremony live. But
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: if you're there, this is all you hear. I mean,
- 1:09:21Speaker 2: it sounds okay, but imagine you hear how loud. It
- 1:09:25Speaker 2: is not very loud here. You know, when you're down there,
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: it's deafening, deafening. So if you were standing there, you
- 1:09:31Speaker 2: would have this blasting in your ear. So after about
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: ten minutes, I'd probably want to kill myself having that
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: in my head. So that's why it's better not to
- 1:09:45Speaker 2: be there. We'll bring you the actual ceremony. Once they
- 1:09:48Speaker 2: get to city Hall, it'll be much much better. You're
- 1:09:52Speaker 2: going to hear Mayor Mom Donnie speaker. Whatever you love
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: me or hate him, he is a good speaker. And
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: then you'll hear the the Nicks. They'll get their awards
- 1:10:02Speaker 2: and they'll talk, and then the mayor has a key
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: to the city. It's actually a big gold key. It's
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: about like five inches. It's a big gold key and
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: everybody will get their key to the city. Of course,
- 1:10:14Speaker 2: knowing this guy, he'll change the locks right afterwards. But
- 1:10:17Speaker 2: and then they'll get the trophy and all that, and
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: then Alicia King Alicia Keys will do Empire State of Mind.
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: So it should be a pretty good ceremony. Well, it's
- 1:10:26Speaker 2: supposed to start at eleven thirty. It's almost noon, so
- 1:10:29Speaker 2: there's quite a delay on that. So we'll bring it
- 1:10:31Speaker 2: to you, you know, probably right after the news. A
- 1:10:35Speaker 2: lot of celebrities there. Timothy Chalome is there, Kylie Jenner,
- 1:10:40Speaker 2: a lot of other celebrities there, Spike Lee. All these
- 1:10:43Speaker 2: people are down there getting ready for this. The fans
- 1:10:48Speaker 2: were chanting, I can't say this, f Wemby, just say
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: the F word Wemby yelling and screaming of that. A
- 1:10:55Speaker 2: lot of Nick's merchandise being sold down there on the scene.
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: First championship since nineteen seventy three, first parade ever seventy three.
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: They won the World Championship, but there was no parade.
- 1:11:08Speaker 2: The city couldn't afford it at the time. Mayor Lindsay said,
- 1:11:12Speaker 2: we just don't have the money to do it. So
- 1:11:17Speaker 2: they threw a party in sead a party instead. There's
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: some Knicks fans down there. There's one named Madison, and
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: apparently her parents were such Knicks fans. She said, that's
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: why she's named Madison. She was actually named after Madison
- 1:11:30Speaker 2: Square Garden. You can see Patrick Ewing in the crowd,
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: greeting fans. Let's see what else is saying. Yeah, a
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: lot of famous faces down there. Jalen Bronson jumped off
- 1:11:44Speaker 2: the float a couple of times. You know, the fans
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: are behind barricades over in the side. A couple of
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: times he actually jumped off the float, went over to
- 1:11:51Speaker 2: shake hands with the fans. Great video that you'll be
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: seeing all over the place. Knicks fans climbed on top
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: of the South Ferry subway station, yelling and screaming, and
- 1:12:02Speaker 2: as we heard before, they're climbing up on garbage trucks
- 1:12:05Speaker 2: to get a better look. And oh, apparently there's bathroom
- 1:12:12Speaker 2: entry codes at certain buildings, you know, and sometimes you
- 1:12:15Speaker 2: go to Starbucks and there's a thing like that. So
- 1:12:19Speaker 2: that was a big thing. People were like bribing to
- 1:12:21Speaker 2: get those bathroom codes to get in there. But it
- 1:12:25Speaker 2: looks like well over a million people showed up. We
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: were hearing up to two million formula. It looks like
- 1:12:30Speaker 2: just well over a million people. Now they're having a
- 1:12:34Speaker 2: problem apparently on the subways last night, getting a lot
- 1:12:37Speaker 2: of graffiti sprayed all over the trains. It's all Nicks graffiti.
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: I gotta admit it looks pretty good. I'd leave it
- 1:12:44Speaker 2: up there. It's orange and blue, you know' graffiti artists
- 1:12:46Speaker 2: are really good. A lot of orange and blue nixed
- 1:12:50Speaker 2: stuff all over the subway trains is graffiti you have.
- 1:12:53Speaker 2: There's some trees along the route. They've got all kinds
- 1:12:55Speaker 2: of fans climbing up in the trees trying to get
- 1:12:59Speaker 2: a better look. And now again, I'm a new basketball fan,
- 1:13:04Speaker 2: only about two weeks. But Curtis Leewa has just come in.
- 1:13:07Speaker 2: I would imagine you've been a basketball fan longer than
- 1:13:10Speaker 2: two weeks.
- 1:13:10Speaker 9: Sure, I'm seventy two. My first Nick game was in
- 1:13:13Speaker 9: the Old Garden fiftieth and eight a buck fifty with
- 1:13:17Speaker 9: a student government organization pass, and I got to see
- 1:13:20Speaker 9: Wilt Chamberlain Saf Francisco Warriors take on the New York
- 1:13:26Speaker 9: and Nicks, who were lowly at that time. They were
- 1:13:28Speaker 9: not championship caliber, but it was the thrill of my
- 1:13:31Speaker 9: life at that time. Imagine for a dollar fifty now,
- 1:13:35Speaker 9: Mark Simone, you couldn't get even an air sandwich, an
- 1:13:40Speaker 9: air sandwich. The prices to go to games now, just
- 1:13:44Speaker 9: an average game for the Knicks. Let's say your family
- 1:13:47Speaker 9: of four, you've spending the thousand bucks about two hundred
- 1:13:50Speaker 9: and fifty dollars a ticket, never mind the dirty water
- 1:13:52Speaker 9: hot dog that'll cost you a reverse mortgage and a
- 1:13:55Speaker 9: payday loan. But today everybody is equal. They're all out there,
- 1:14:00Speaker 9: working class people, homeless people, the.
- 1:14:02Speaker 2: Wealthy, the rich.
- 1:14:03Speaker 9: Everybody is going for touts for the world champion New
- 1:14:08Speaker 9: York Knicks.
- 1:14:08Speaker 2: Buttutz I like it, Yes, for tuts for touts. All right,
- 1:14:12Speaker 2: take a break for the news. Then we'll be back.
- 1:14:13Speaker 2: Curtis and I don't know if I'll be here, but
- 1:14:16Speaker 2: Curtis will be here. We'll bring you the ceremony should
- 1:14:19Speaker 2: start pretty soon. It's all coming up. We'll bring it
- 1:14:21Speaker 2: to your live right here on seven to ten wor
