Michael Whatley, Donald Trump’s endorsed candidate, posted a Sept. 11 memorial graphic dated “Sept. 1, 2001,” then deleted it and reposted a corrected version. The mistake drew ridicule while Whatley trailed Democrat Roy Cooper by 11 points in recent polling.
