- 0:13Welcome to Mission Sunlight Chat from the Media
- 0:15Missionaries of Network 7. What a blessing to
- 0:18have you along. We are in St. Louis, Missouri
- 0:20at the Church's, the Seventh -day Adventist Church's
- 0:23General Conference. And this week we have been
- 0:27a part of the polity, that is the setting of
- 0:30policy and the election of officers. But also
- 0:32we've been here in the exhibit hall where people
- 0:35are sharing what Jesus is doing in their part
- 0:38of the world. And that has been an incredible
- 0:40blessing to network with others who are working
- 0:43for Christ. wherever they may be stationed, whether
- 0:45they're working for the church institution or
- 0:47for lay organizations, whether they're in business
- 0:50supporting the church ministry. We have been
- 0:53blessed to be connected with them and have our
- 0:55space here in the exhibit hall. And at this moment,
- 0:58we have a special friend who is working in a
- 1:01far -flung region of the world with Gospel Outreach.
- 1:06I'm going to give you a chance to introduce yourself,
- 1:08tell us who you are and what you do and where
- 1:10you're working. My name is Pastor Gary Wilson.
- 1:14I am currently working as a regional director
- 1:18for Gospel Outreach. Gospel Outreach is an organization
- 1:23that began about 30, 25, 30 years ago, 32 years
- 1:28ago. When the concept of realizing what happened,
- 1:35and we talked about it a little bit tonight in
- 1:37the meeting, the 1040 window. the need to evangelize
- 1:41that area. Now, many of our listeners may not
- 1:44know what a 1040 window is, so let's explain
- 1:48that that is the latitudinal lines primarily
- 1:51in the eastern hemisphere that starts at 10 degrees
- 1:56above the equator. That's correct. And goes up
- 2:00to 40 degrees above the equator. That window...
- 2:03particularly focuses on Northern Africa and Southern
- 2:07Asia. Is that a fair way to describe it? Yes.
- 2:09And I would say that it covers the majority of
- 2:14the unreached people, groups. So we're going
- 2:18to talk a bit in more detail about gospel outreach
- 2:21in our second segment. Gary Wilson, I would like
- 2:24you to open us with a word of prayer, and then
- 2:25we want to learn a little bit more about you
- 2:27and what makes you tick in your early years of
- 2:30knowing who Jesus is. Let's bow our heads. Father,
- 2:33I thank you so much for being such a loving,
- 2:37kind Father who guides us through our lives,
- 2:41through everything we do, that we can trust you
- 2:44because you have shown your undivided love for
- 2:47us. Thank you, Jesus, for blessing us as we talk
- 2:51this time. Help us to be able to share your message
- 2:56with this world. In Jesus' name, amen. Thank
- 3:01you for the prayer, Gary. Take us to the early
- 3:03years of your life and your family experience.
- 3:07Well, my family life is an interesting thing.
- 3:11My father was a pastor, but early on contracted
- 3:17multiple sclerosis in an era when there wasn't
- 3:21much to do about that. And so my mom raised my
- 3:25brother and I pretty much. But I've always had...
- 3:29One of the things that they did for us was to
- 3:32provide us with mission stories, mission books.
- 3:36And it touched my life. I remember hearing someone
- 3:41that older people in the church would know, Eric
- 3:46B. Hare from Burma. And he was quite a storyteller.
- 3:53And we call that Myanmar Today. Myanmar Today,
- 3:56yes. The stories touched my heart as a child.
- 4:02And I would go to camp meeting in the summer
- 4:04when all the groups would get together and the
- 4:07churches get together in an area. And once in
- 4:10a while we'd have him or someone like that to
- 4:13tell us mission stories. And that began to touch
- 4:20my life with the idea I wanted to do missions.
- 4:23How would you say you were then? I was six, seven
- 4:26years old, eight years old. Early years. In the
- 4:29early years of my life. And it continued because
- 4:32we would go, we loved to go to camp meeting every
- 4:35summer. And I grew up in the Oregon Conference,
- 4:39which is the state of Oregon. And we would go
- 4:44up to camp meeting up there near Portland. And
- 4:47I couldn't get enough of going to those stories
- 4:50when I was in. In the junior department and primary
- 4:53and all those things, I would go every time.
- 4:56And even when I was older, teenage, it was always
- 4:59something that I wanted. Missions were something
- 5:01that interested me. I went on to Walla Walla
- 5:05College, and the Lord turned my life around because
- 5:13I was headed to go to dental school, but I had
- 5:16to wait a year. And so I met. The young lady
- 5:22was going to be my wife. I didn't know that at
- 5:24the time. And because I had to wait a year, I
- 5:31went to St. Louis, right here, St. Louis. Began
- 5:34my ministry straight out of college, teaching
- 5:37here in the Adventist school here in St. Louis,
- 5:40Missouri. Missouri, if you're from this area.
- 5:44And he set it up. where that was going to be
- 5:52my goal. He just opened all the doors and closed
- 5:57the ones, and I never went to dental school.
- 6:00I went straight into teaching. My second year,
- 6:03I was an administrator of the school here. And
- 6:07God just led me right straight through teaching.
- 6:10And I have spent, like I said, I spent the next
- 6:1353 years teaching and administrating schools.
- 6:19Mostly junior academies and boarding schools,
- 6:22high schools, and all over the United States.
- 6:32And worked many, many different areas around
- 6:36the United States. And then my wife and I, we
- 6:42got married after my first year of teaching.
- 6:45So she followed you to St. Louis. Well, she was
- 6:47already here. She graduated in Michigan from
- 6:51Andrews University the year before me. And so
- 6:57and she became they called her to be the principal
- 7:00that my first year of teaching. I married her
- 7:03and became the principal second year. She says
- 7:05she says I didn't want to do it anymore. And
- 7:08so I have some people say, well, you married
- 7:10so you could get to be principal. It wasn't quite
- 7:14the case, but it was where God wanted me to be.
- 7:17And I realized that as the next few years went
- 7:21by. I knew that this is where God wanted me to
- 7:24be. I want to back up on something you said earlier.
- 7:27Your father was sick with multiple sclerosis.
- 7:30Your mother was focused on your formative years
- 7:35on raising you, and you said a brother? Yes,
- 7:37I have a younger brother. Okay. So you would
- 7:41credit your mom with your ultimate connection
- 7:44to Christ? I would say that as well as my grandparents.
- 7:48Okay. My grandparents on my mom's side were church
- 7:52workers as well, educators. What ended up happening
- 7:57with your father? He passed away eventually in
- 8:031975. Okay. And because it was difficult for
- 8:09him. He was a person who had been very active.
- 8:15And all of a sudden, he was in a wheelchair before
- 8:18I went to first grade. I mean, I suppose it's
- 8:23too personal, but I remember the last time he
- 8:26drove a car. He couldn't get his foot from the
- 8:29clutch to the brake fast enough, and we hit the
- 8:33garage door. It didn't do any big damage, but
- 8:36that was his last time he ever drove. And so
- 8:40you have these kind of experiences, and emotionally
- 8:44he didn't handle it that well. Right. And so—
- 8:47Many of us would not. No. And there was—if they
- 8:52had the kind of medical care today, back then,
- 8:57he probably would have lived much longer and
- 8:59not even had to go into a wheelchair as much
- 9:01because there's other treatments today. But he
- 9:05didn't have that opportunity, so he had to handle
- 9:08the whole flow of that disease to the end, and
- 9:11it was gone. I see. So you've brought us forward
- 9:15to your time here in St. Louis where you were
- 9:18teaching, and you spent, as you said, 53 years.
- 9:23How did you, without giving too much away about
- 9:26gospel outreach, how did you connect with gospel
- 9:29outreach? How did you arrive from a teaching
- 9:31career to leading missionaries? It began, I suppose,
- 9:37in one sense. My wife and I, when we were first
- 9:40married, we came to the general conference officers,
- 9:44and we applied for mission service. It didn't
- 9:51happen for many, many years, but in 1981, we
- 9:55got a call to go to the Marshall Islands. I was
- 10:00the first full -time principal of that school
- 10:01there. It had started the year before. and they
- 10:04asked me to come and be the first full -time
- 10:06principal. So we took our children. I have four
- 10:09children. My youngest was nine months old when
- 10:11we got on that plane. And so I got involved,
- 10:15and there I got involved with student missionaries.
- 10:17I had 21 student missionaries and volunteers
- 10:20every year running that kindergarten through
- 10:2612th grade high school. And so the concept of
- 10:30missions just kind of... Moved in was something
- 10:35that had been part of our life. It was so it's
- 10:38just something that continued getting the concept
- 10:41of mission and Then forward fast forward that
- 10:45after a few years in the marshals we came back
- 10:48home worked in several different places and then
- 10:51In 2010 it opened up for us to go back overseas
- 10:57and now all of our kids are grown married and
- 11:02grandchildren and so on but for us from my wife
- 11:06and I my wife's anyway they it became something
- 11:15that we just wanted to do and so got the general
- 11:20conference called us to go to Sri Lanka and in
- 11:24Sri Lanka I had I was print I was president of
- 11:29Lackawanna Adventist College. It's a junior college,
- 11:32elementary through junior college experience.
- 11:38And we met up with our pastor and his wife were
- 11:46teaching there, John and Ruby Stafford from College
- 11:49Place Washington, but they've done a lot of mission
- 11:51service. And so we met them. He retired. while
- 11:59we were there, went back to Walla Walla. And
- 12:05I guess he got involved with gospel outreach
- 12:07at that time. I'm not sure exactly when he got
- 12:10involved, but it was about that time. And so
- 12:13we continued on, went to Thailand and then to
- 12:18Guam and then ultimately to Egypt in 2020. And
- 12:28then when we came home, which we had to come
- 12:32due to COVID issues, we were sitting at home
- 12:38and Don Ruby, we were talking one time and he
- 12:43mentioned something about they needed regional
- 12:46directors in gospel outreach. As we stated a
- 12:49little bit more, gospel outreach, what we do.
- 12:53is we have over 2 ,000 workers in 44 countries
- 12:56across this, what we call the 1040 window. We
- 13:03hire natives, indigenous workers. And train them.
- 13:08And train them. And put them, have them go into
- 13:13unopened villages. Friendship. Bible studies.
- 13:20prayer time with people, helping them. We give
- 13:23them a little bit of medical training in some
- 13:25cases. And then we just ask them to keep working.
- 13:32We try to get them, encourage them to move into
- 13:36new villages, because there's lots of little
- 13:38villages. And they usually run three to five
- 13:41villages at a time. And weekly they will go in.
- 13:48house churches, house meetings in these areas,
- 13:53and fantastic work. But it's challenging. As
- 14:01Gospel Outreach, we work through the church organization.
- 14:04I want to learn more about Gospel Outreach, but
- 14:06I want to finish up on your story, how you connected.
- 14:09You had your friends over? They invited me. They
- 14:11introduced you to it a little bit? They introduced
- 14:13me to the idea of Gospel Outreach. They said,
- 14:16we need RDs. Would you be willing to do that?
- 14:20And I said, yes. I said, I would be more than
- 14:24willing to, you know, if this is what God wants
- 14:28me to do, because I don't want to quit working.
- 14:30I hear I'm retired now. I said, I really don't
- 14:33want to quit working. But if this is what God
- 14:36wants me to do, I will do it. Amen. Because going
- 14:43back to one of my time at Walla Walla, one of
- 14:45the things on Friday evening and Sabbath evening,
- 14:50we would have these Vesper services. And one
- 14:54of the songs that was my favorite was about going
- 14:57and filling God's mission. somewhat of the term,
- 15:05I will go. If you call me, I will do it. Something
- 15:10like Isaiah's little vision, I'll do it. And
- 15:16that's kind of where I was. And so, hey, I really
- 15:21didn't want to come home from Egypt. We'd just
- 15:24gotten really going there. I was principal of
- 15:26a school in Zaitun, which is in Cairo. I wanted
- 15:33to continue work, and this gave me an opportunity
- 15:35to stay active. Amen. I mean, I can do that in
- 15:39my local churches and be involved in Sabbath
- 15:42school teaching and preaching and stuff like
- 15:44that, but my heart's always been overseas. So
- 15:48gospel outreach made a lot of sense. Gospel outreach
- 15:52just made sense, and it does involve my training
- 15:58as an administrator. because I'm working with
- 16:02local, what we in the United States, we call
- 16:07them conferences or missions. Over there, they
- 16:09call them sections and regions. And so I'm working
- 16:13with the presidents of those sections and regions.
- 16:16They have to fill out reports. They have to follow
- 16:19guidelines. We have to have accountability and
- 16:22transparency and stuff like that. And that's
- 16:24challenging sometimes. education level of understanding
- 16:28all that is a little different there than here
- 16:30let's talk a little bit more about gospel outreach
- 16:32as we go along we're going to come back in just
- 16:34a moment with more with gary wilson gospel outreach
- 16:37leading out in the northern india union we'll
- 16:40talk about that a bit more in a moment but first
- 16:42i want to remind you you can stay connected with
- 16:44us at missionsunlight .org you can click the
- 16:47donate button you can also learn more about the
- 16:50family of ministries that come under Network
- 16:537 there at missionsunlight .org. You can text
- 16:56us at 1 -423 -855 -4877. And one quick shot around
- 17:01the exhibit hall here. We are at the general
- 17:03conference session and... As you can hear in
- 17:06the background, if you're listening, as you can
- 17:08see on the screen, if you're watching, it is
- 17:10a busy Saturday evening, the last night of the
- 17:13General Conference session, and folks are excited
- 17:16about what they're learning about, and that is
- 17:19how Jesus is working around the world. We're
- 17:23thankful to have you along. We will be back with
- 17:25more Mission Sunlight Chat. Being a media missionary
- 17:37can mean many different things. It means the
- 17:40love of a home at the heart of the planet. The
- 17:43intrepid spirit of a village and the vibe of
- 17:46a great metropolis. It means camera one and camera
- 17:50two. It means transforming a school, orphanage,
- 17:55or hospital. It means fire, rain, ice, and snow.
- 18:00It means gifts by the dollar and by the check.
- 18:04it means donations that roll and donations that
- 18:08fly it's a movement on a trail or down a motorway
- 18:14it means family all of us together and individually
- 18:19it's who you are or who you are becoming and
- 18:24to her it's a simple gesture that means hope
- 18:28whatever it means to you being a media missionary
- 18:32means more than you might think. Welcome back
- 18:44to Mission Sunlight Chat. We are excited to be
- 18:46in the exhibit hall at the General Conference
- 18:48session. Folks are learning and sharing about
- 18:50ministry around the globe, hearing what Jesus
- 18:52is up to and how He is working in their field.
- 18:56And right now we're talking with Gary Wilson,
- 18:58who is going to share with us what is happening
- 19:00in one of those far -flung fields, as we like
- 19:02to say at Mission Sunlight, northern India. You
- 19:06have a great opportunity to share Jesus in your
- 19:09region of the world. What exactly is Gospel Outreach
- 19:12doing in northern India? In our section in northern
- 19:16India, I'm in what's called Region 10, which
- 19:20is mostly the state of Uttar Pradesh and then
- 19:22up into Punjab. 275 workers that we work with.
- 19:29These people go into the villages and they work
- 19:36hard to meet the people and show them Jesus.
- 19:43We had a visit just within the last six months.
- 19:50My fellow RD was... covering it this year. I
- 19:55wasn't able to go in November. And he was there
- 19:59and they visited a few, what they call home churches.
- 20:05They're just out of, up in the Punjab and just
- 20:09out of the town of Jalandhar. And the people
- 20:14are coming together and they're singing and they're
- 20:18praying. And these are people that are not. there's
- 20:22a lot of them Sikhs of the Sikh religion and
- 20:27but they they want they want to understand the
- 20:31love of Jesus and our workers and many of these
- 20:35workers are very poorly educated but they love
- 20:38Jesus and and they're sharing the gospel and
- 20:43the meeting my friend was telling me the meeting
- 20:46was just like being in one of the early Christian
- 20:52churches when Paul was around. The people were
- 20:56singing, praising God, and just loving prayer.
- 21:00And it was just a fantastic experience. He said
- 21:05he came away with tears in his eyes, moved by
- 21:08the spirit that was going on in that meeting.
- 21:11And I think that this is what we see in general.
- 21:16Now, the challenge that we have is that we have
- 21:19to work through And sometimes we get people that
- 21:24are more interested in the money than they are
- 21:26in the work. So we struggle with that a little
- 21:28bit. But it's not bad. I mean, God is so in control
- 21:34of what's happening in this world today. You've
- 21:39got to be blind not to see that Jesus is coming
- 21:43very soon. People are excited about wanting to
- 21:47know about the Lord. We have, in gospel outreach,
- 21:53we have workers in the Middle East, in countries
- 21:58I probably shouldn't even mention. And we have
- 22:02Muslim young men coming, telling us they're having
- 22:05visions of seeing Jesus. And we have imams that
- 22:17are becoming... Sabbath imams. They still keep
- 22:21their temple open on Friday for worship, but
- 22:24on Sabbath they open it for Sabbath worship.
- 22:26They believe everything we believe. They've accepted
- 22:29everything we share with them. This is the excitement
- 22:34of working with the gospel. Too often here in
- 22:39the United States, it's just kind of, we go to
- 22:41church every week and sit in church, whatever.
- 22:44But out there, these people are having to face
- 22:46it. In India, we're facing some problems. They
- 22:50just passed in 2014 a non -conversion law. It
- 23:00went through all the process and everything.
- 23:02Which is interesting for a country that professes
- 23:04not to have a national religion. That's right.
- 23:06It says it has religious freedom, but they have
- 23:09this law. And it went all the way to their Supreme
- 23:14Court just recently. And the Supreme Court just
- 23:18kind of punted the ball, so to speak, didn't
- 23:21finish it, left it up to the states. Well, if
- 23:24you get up in the north there where we are, up
- 23:27in the north, it's very, very Hindu. And we've
- 23:33had some of our workers thrown in jail for periods
- 23:35of time. We have one of our presidents that's
- 23:38called into the police station quite regularly.
- 23:42We've been working with this and realizing, hey,
- 23:45their Constitution protects them. They can be
- 23:48harassed a little bit, but the Constitution protects
- 23:51them. And so our president, this one guy in one
- 23:56of our sections, he's just become friendly with
- 24:00the police. He's not fighting it. He's just saying,
- 24:04you know, hey, we're not doing anything that's
- 24:06against the Constitution. And even though he
- 24:09gets called in all the time, they're on a first
- 24:12-name basis, and they're friends. And so what
- 24:16I've been trying to help my presidents to realize
- 24:23is that, hey, your Constitution protects you.
- 24:27Don't be fearful. God's in charge. Amen. And
- 24:32so we're getting excited as we see things happening
- 24:36that way. and it's going forward in a positive
- 24:41way. Amen. Rather than be afraid, you know, Jesus
- 24:46said, don't be worried about what you have to
- 24:48say when you come before magistrates and kings
- 24:50or whatever, because I'm going to take the words.
- 24:53I'm going to do it for you. We have a tendency
- 24:57to live in fear. Yes. And I'm not saying we're
- 25:01any different here. I just, you know, how are
- 25:03we going to handle it when... When the Sunday
- 25:06law comes through or whatever it is, it comes
- 25:08across. Maybe I should, whatever. But the point
- 25:12is, we have a God who's in charge. Amen. I mean,
- 25:16that's what we come to the general. Whether it's
- 25:18religious persecution because of the day we worship
- 25:20on or because of the way we reach people with
- 25:24Jesus, we still know that the Lord will provide
- 25:27for us. That's right. And even when we get into
- 25:30concern about leadership positions and stuff
- 25:34like this, I just have to help my people understand
- 25:37God's in charge. Amen. And I can trust him. Amen.
- 25:41I mean, we may go through some tough times. I
- 25:45mean, when we read the book of Job, we find out
- 25:48that sometimes we're going to go through some
- 25:49troubles that we don't understand. But the ending
- 25:52is always, we know who the winner is. Amen. We
- 25:57know how the book ends, don't we? Yes, we do.
- 26:00Gospel Outreach, how can people connect with
- 26:02that ministry? You can go on to gospeloutreach
- 26:08.com, although I think the app, we have an app
- 26:11called Go Aim App. It's all goaimapp .com, and
- 26:20you can get... Information about it. We could
- 26:25put those details in our program description
- 26:27and let folks know about that. We have a TV channel
- 26:32called GoTV that puts on programs about what's
- 26:38happening in the field with some of our people.
- 26:42So if they want to learn more about your particular
- 26:44area, they can just look in northern India? Yeah.
- 26:47But like I said, we cover... We cover the Muslim
- 26:53areas. We also cover the lower, more Muslim areas
- 26:59of what used to be the Soviet Union, Kurdistan,
- 27:06Tajikistan, those areas. And then the Middle
- 27:11East, and of course, like I said, Gospel Outreach
- 27:15Canada, which is part of us, and they're joining
- 27:18back together more. Deals with West Africa. Okay.
- 27:22But we also handle Southeast Asia, the Philippines,
- 27:27Indonesia. So it has a broad reach. So we have
- 27:31a broad reach. As I said, we're in 44 countries.
- 27:35And with over 2 ,000 people. What we do is we
- 27:41have coordinators in most of these divisions.
- 27:46and those coordinators will identify where we
- 27:50need, and if we've got the money, we distribute
- 27:53over $4 million a year to sponsor these workers.
- 27:58We give them a wage, ask them to work for us,
- 28:01and most of these people are people that don't
- 28:04have a lot of money. So to go to work for us
- 28:07is a full -time job. And we train them, keep
- 28:12them trained. Keep constantly working with them.
- 28:15I go over at least once a year and do seminars,
- 28:21training. Coaching, encouraging. Coaching, encouraging.
- 28:27Even helping them spiritually. Because it's nothing,
- 28:33you know, it's pretty hard to be out on the front
- 28:35line. I understood this as a missionary too.
- 28:37You're out on the front line all by yourself.
- 28:39And you have felt what they have felt. Yes. And
- 28:45so you're on your own, and you need encouragement.
- 28:49You need training. And spiritual encouragement
- 28:53is extremely important. They're not going to
- 28:58grow unless they spend time with the Bible. We
- 29:03get this question once in a while. It's kind
- 29:05of a funny little thing. Is my devotional time...
- 29:10Do I have to do it on my own or can that be part
- 29:13of my work? And we're saying, look, your devotional
- 29:17time, your growth spiritually is part of your
- 29:20work. And so, hey, yes. If you need to spend
- 29:27time with the Bible every morning as part of
- 29:30your time, if you want to count it, they always
- 29:32get worried about, well, what do I do all day?
- 29:35How many hours do I have to spend in this and
- 29:37stuff like that? And the point we're making is
- 29:39it's a lifestyle. Yes. Live your belief. They
- 29:46don't have the same work concepts that we might
- 29:50have here in the West. It's a different feeling.
- 29:52Well, you know, we don't understand, but even
- 30:02our poorest state in North America, the United
- 30:07States, is ten times what they make in many cases.
- 30:15So it's just part of helping them. Some of them
- 30:22are making real changes. They have to have been
- 30:24baptized at least two years for us to hire them.
- 30:27We have to check them over, make sure they're
- 30:30grounded in the belief system. Some of them come
- 30:32right out of Sunday churches. But they need to
- 30:38know what it is they believe. And so I go over
- 30:41there. I usually do a three -day seminar all
- 30:47day. And I have three or four other people presenting.
- 30:51We talk about their finances. But we always spend
- 30:56time in the Bible with them. What we believe.
- 31:02What they're going to do. And help them. to be
- 31:06strong because when they're strong spiritually,
- 31:08they do fantastic jobs. Gary Wilson, Gospel Outreach.
- 31:13We're going to have a closing thought from you
- 31:15in just a moment. I want to remind our folks
- 31:16who are listening and watching, we are grateful
- 31:18to have you along with the program. We are especially
- 31:20grateful to have your prayers and know that we
- 31:23are also praying for you. As we look at the General
- 31:26Conference Session Exhibit Hall, lots of people
- 31:29in, literally thousands of people in the hall.
- 31:32learning and growing and networking and stretching
- 31:35how the Lord is working around the globe. So
- 31:39we want to thank you for being a part of our
- 31:40program. Remember, you can connect with us at
- 31:42missionsunlight .org. We will be back in a moment
- 31:45with more. Mission Sunlight, ciao. Our salvation
- 31:56is a day -to -day matter, isn't it? The real
- 32:01principle of the Sabbath is reconnecting ourselves
- 32:05with the Creator. We must learn to abide in Jesus
- 32:12now. We move ahead with our mission objectives,
- 32:15recognizing that we are serving together the
- 32:18Most High God. Welcome back to Mission Sunlight
- 32:33Chat. Gary Wilson from Gospel Outreach. Gary,
- 32:36thank you so much for being a part of our program
- 32:37today, for sharing with us what Gospel Outreach
- 32:40does and what your work is there in the Northern
- 32:43Indian Union. Before we go, you have a word of
- 32:47encouragement that you want to share with our
- 32:49listeners and viewers, so I'm just going to ask
- 32:51you to share that now. You know, the theme of
- 32:55this conference has been, I will go. Gospel commission
- 33:03that Jesus gave his disciples and all of us in
- 33:07Matthew 28 verses 19 and 20 was to go and make
- 33:10disciples. It isn't for ministers go or teachers
- 33:15go or missionaries go. It's every one of us goes.
- 33:19And if we can't go, we can help sponsor things.
- 33:23And I suppose I will tell you that Gospel Outreach
- 33:26is a lay -funded organization. We do the work,
- 33:35but we depend on donors, just like you probably
- 33:38do too. I'm sorry I missed that. It's okay. It's
- 33:43something we do. And nobody's asking me to say
- 33:50this because I haven't talked to my bosses at
- 33:53Gospel Outreach. But I know we want, if you can't,
- 34:00We go in different ways. The Gospel Commission
- 34:03is to make disciples. Now, how do I do that?
- 34:07I can talk to people one -on -one. And you know
- 34:10the concept of each one can reach one is very
- 34:14important. That's part of the Gospel Commission.
- 34:16God wants us. If we believe he's coming again,
- 34:20we've got to do our job. We've got to do it.
- 34:24And however we do that, it may be in giving.
- 34:29It may be in praying. Whatever it is. Supporting
- 34:34others. However you do it. God has given each
- 34:39of us that challenge. And I don't want to. I've
- 34:43tried not to back away from it. Even though I've
- 34:45sometimes wished I wasn't where I am. But it's
- 34:49something. You can't walk away from. If you are
- 34:52committed to Jesus. You have to share the gospel.
- 34:57Because. He's pursuing me. He wants to save us
- 35:03all. I want to be a part of that. Gary Wilson,
- 35:07thank you for challenging us and reminding us
- 35:10of the scriptural challenge to go in whatever
- 35:14way the Lord leads us to do that, whether that's
- 35:16sending our resources, lifting up our prayers,
- 35:18or physically taking a step out of our comfort
- 35:21zone and go in there. Amen. Jordan, would you
- 35:26wrap us up with a word of prayer as we conclude
- 35:28here from the General Conference Exhibit Hall?
- 35:31Lots of sounds around us as people are sharing
- 35:34and learning more about how God is working. Thank
- 35:37you, Jordan. Be glad to. Let's pray. Heavenly
- 35:39Father, we thank you for this opportunity. We've
- 35:41had to talk with Gary about the different things
- 35:45that are happening in his region of gospel outreach
- 35:47and around the world. In fact, we praise you
- 35:51for the things and the roads you're making. with
- 35:54the word going into these places, and some of
- 35:57them are very hard to reach. And we pray that
- 36:00you will continue to work in those regions. Thank
- 36:02you for the encouragement for all of us to find
- 36:05a way to be involved in ministry and to tell
- 36:08others that you love them and that you're coming
- 36:11back to take us all home. Please be with us and
- 36:14remind us of that on a daily basis, to tell our
- 36:18neighbors and our friends. and those around us
- 36:21that you love them, and you're coming soon. In
- 36:23your name, amen. Amen. Gary, thank you for being
