- 0:01Speaker 1: Jeremy, Katie, and Josh. Mix 100.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Katie has left the studio. We have no idea where
- 0:06Speaker 2: she is. She's supposed to be telling a story right now,
- 0:11Speaker 2: but apparently that's... It's okay. It's not okay. Not okay. No,
- 0:15Speaker 2: it's not at all. The anticipation builds.
- 0:17Speaker 3: Honestly, I saw her running around the hallway about two
- 0:20Speaker 3: minutes ago now, but it does not look like she's
- 0:23Speaker 3: in any type of hurry to get back here.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Well, you know, she's new at this. And here she comes.
- 0:30Speaker 2: You're sprinting down the hallway. Yeah, that's really strange. Yeah,
- 0:33Speaker 2: there she is.
- 0:36Speaker 3: Wow. Sorry.
- 0:37Speaker 2: We've been wondering. That's okay. You're new at this. All right,
- 0:40Speaker 2: tell us all about quinoa.
- 0:43Speaker 4: Oh, thanks for the heads up.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Well, you weren't in here.
- 0:48Speaker 1: This trend about whether your boyfriend or significant other can
- 0:53Speaker 1: say the word quinoa.
- 0:54Speaker 4: I just thought it was kind of funny.
- 0:56Speaker 1: You actually said you partake in a lot of quinoa,
- 0:59Speaker 1: so that's not something that you don't.
- 1:01Speaker 4: Know how to do.
- 1:02Speaker 2: The amount of quinoa we eat in my house is ridiculous.
- 1:05Speaker 2: I'm going to tell you right now. We buy the
- 1:08Speaker 2: big bags from Costco. I bring them in. One of
- 1:12Speaker 2: my worst quinoa experiences, which I don't recommend, is when
- 1:15Speaker 2: you do an online order of quinoa and then that
- 1:18Speaker 2: package rips open in the box and you bring that
- 1:22Speaker 2: into your house and you open it up and the
- 1:23Speaker 2: quinoa goes everywhere. Do not recommend the online order of
- 1:27Speaker 2: the quinoa.
- 1:29Speaker 4: I didn't realize.
- 1:30Speaker 2: But you're saying that people know how to pronounce it?
- 1:32Speaker 1: Well, it's either that or just rage bait. Can I
- 1:34Speaker 1: get some quinoa? It started with this woman who was like,
- 1:39Speaker 1: there's a list of words my husband can't pronounce, and quinoa.
- 1:42Speaker 4: Was part of it. Pseudoscience, epitome, hors d'oeuvres, sorbet. All
- 1:48Speaker 4: of these words they say.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Yeah, all these words they say that men just cannot
- 1:54Speaker 1: get down with.
- 1:54Speaker 2: Why's it got to be men?
- 1:55Speaker 4: Worcestershire, Euro, Colonel.
- 1:57Speaker 2: Oh, please. It's not just men. It's like when I
- 2:00Speaker 2: was standing in line and the lady was like, where's
- 2:02Speaker 2: the Asagio cheese? I see you got a bag of
- 2:05Speaker 2: Asagio cheese. Asiago, ma'am? No, where's the ass of Gio?
- 2:10Speaker 1: Again, it started with this woman who shared a list,
- 2:13Speaker 1: 15 words she, quote, knew her husband wouldn't be able
- 2:16Speaker 1: to pronounce. And then she giggled as he struggled with
- 2:20Speaker 1: words like epitome, rendezvous, conscientious.
- 2:24Speaker 4: Indite and faux. So there's a lot.
- 2:26Speaker 2: That's just mean to your husband. Faux gets me all
- 2:29Speaker 2: the time.
- 2:29Speaker 4: Because it's F-A-U-X.
- 2:31Speaker 1: So when you look at it, your brain is like,
- 2:33Speaker 1: that's not right, but I'm going to say faux anyway, right?
- 2:36Speaker 2: Faux gets me. And so does fa. Yeah. Along the
- 2:39Speaker 2: same lines. P-H-O. Same. Faux gets me.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Your brain and your mouth are like arguing in the moment.
- 2:46Speaker 1: And that's what the problem is, is they can't agree.
- 2:48Speaker 1: And it's like, it's happens in the moment.
- 2:51Speaker 3: I will never forget when I went up to a
- 2:53Speaker 3: berry place, it was berry blends or something.
- 2:55Speaker 2: And I went to go order the acai bowl.
- 2:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:58Speaker 2: And they looked at me like, what? That one gets
- 3:01Speaker 2: me too. Oh, acai.
- 3:02Speaker 3: Acai.
- 3:03Speaker 2: That one's ridiculous. I'll never forget it. It doesn't look
- 3:05Speaker 2: like acai. No, it looks like acai. It looks like
- 3:08Speaker 2: acai all day long. Exactly.
- 3:10Speaker 1: And so it's funny because, again, when you don't know
- 3:13Speaker 1: how something is pronounced, it's almost like.
- 3:16Speaker 4: You freeze. You do freeze, just like I almost did
- 3:19Speaker 4: right there. You just don't know what to do.
- 3:21Speaker 2: But everybody looks at you like you're an idiot, too.
- 3:23Speaker 4: You're like, I didn't know.
- 3:24Speaker 2: I'm sorry. Well, that happens to me no matter what.
- 3:28Speaker 4: But I did think it was funny because it is
- 3:30Speaker 4: aimed at men.
- 3:31Speaker 1: It's supposed to be a man thing, but I know
- 3:33Speaker 1: there's plenty of women who can't pronounce certain words as well.
- 3:36Speaker 4: We all struggle with it.
- 3:38Speaker 1: And again, in the moment, it's like you have a
- 3:39Speaker 1: brain fart and your mouth doesn't know how to operate.
- 3:43Speaker 4: Your brain is having a meltdown. It's all happening at
- 3:45Speaker 4: the same time.
- 3:47Speaker 1: But one person, I thought it was really funny because
- 3:49Speaker 1: the whole story just had people commenting back like, my
- 3:52Speaker 1: husband can't say this or my wife has a problem
- 3:55Speaker 1: with this. But there was one comment that just caught me.
- 3:57Speaker 1: It was zero foes given.
- 3:59Speaker 4: You know it's spelled F-A-U-X. So you look at it
- 4:02Speaker 4: and you're like, takes you a second.
- 4:04Speaker 2: Takes you a second. Mine's always been giraffe, giraffe, right?
- 4:09Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 4:10Speaker 2: Giraffe. Giraffe. And then forward is the other one that's
- 4:14Speaker 2: always gotten me. I can't say forward. It's moving forward.
- 4:19Speaker 2: Like you're saying F-O-R-D? Yeah, like America's pickup. Forward. I
- 4:23Speaker 2: can't do it. Forward.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Forward.
- 4:27Speaker 2: Akai, Kunwa, and Ford. What a stupid guy. A couple
- 4:37Speaker 2: of things going on in my personal life. I guess
- 4:39Speaker 2: I will say a big old thank you to numerous
- 4:42Speaker 2: listeners who have been reaching out, giving me the ups
- 4:45Speaker 2: and the downs and the pros and the cons and
- 4:48Speaker 2: everything in between of being a cross-country parent now. Was
- 4:53Speaker 2: at another cross-country event this weekend, and we rolled in,
- 4:56Speaker 2: and there was like 1,000 kids at this one. I'm
- 4:59Speaker 2: not even joking.
- 4:59Speaker 4: You were showing me video. It is absolutely wild.
- 5:02Speaker 2: It's wild.
- 5:03Speaker 1: The amount of people who show up to one park.
- 5:05Speaker 2: Oh, my God. Yes, the tents. You couldn't find parking.
- 5:08Speaker 2: In my son's wave alone, there was like 260 boys running.
- 5:12Speaker 2: It's pretty wild. I'm loving it. It's a lot of fun.
- 5:16Speaker 2: He's really enjoying it. I don't want to brag, but...
- 5:21Speaker 2: But I've been put in charge of finding a new
- 5:23Speaker 2: tent for the cross-country team. Don't want to brag. Kind
- 5:26Speaker 2: of a big deal, though. Big boss man. Pretty high-profile
- 5:30Speaker 2: activity there for me. Tent duty already. Yeah, I don't
- 5:33Speaker 2: want to brag, but I'll be taking care of that.
- 5:37Speaker 2: Kind of a big deal. There was a parent that
- 5:40Speaker 2: wrote me this weekend, I'm sorry, I can't find your
- 5:42Speaker 2: message again. We've got, you know, between... Our Instagrams, I've
- 5:48Speaker 2: got three I look after, and then the two Facebooks,
- 5:52Speaker 2: and then email, and then it's just a lot. But
- 5:55Speaker 2: a message from a listener this weekend, it made me
- 5:58Speaker 2: chuckle because she said, Hey, cross-country pro tip. Don't ever
- 6:03Speaker 2: set up your, I don't want to call it a
- 6:07Speaker 2: picnic area, but your hangout area. Your blanket, your tent, whatever.
- 6:12Speaker 2: At the end, at the finish line, she's like, that's
- 6:15Speaker 2: just a pro tip. You don't want to set up
- 6:17Speaker 2: anything in the grass at the end because that's where
- 6:21Speaker 2: all the runners puke. She's like, I've made that mistake once.
- 6:25Speaker 2: She said, I had a soggy blanket once. So that's
- 6:27Speaker 2: a pro tip. I was like, that's pretty solid. My
- 6:30Speaker 2: pro tip for anybody with kids going into cross country,
- 6:34Speaker 2: I would say try to use the bathroom before the race.
- 6:36Speaker 2: At home, before you get there. Don't drink a lot
- 6:39Speaker 2: of coffee and stuff because they do have porta potties
- 6:41Speaker 2: lined up.
- 6:41Speaker 4: You don't want to use those.
- 6:42Speaker 2: And I'm going to tell you right now, early morning
- 6:44Speaker 2: with a bunch of runners, those babies are topped off
- 6:48Speaker 2: by 7 a.m. I'll tell you that right now. That
- 6:52Speaker 2: honey bucket is not so sweet no more.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Oh, boy.
- 6:56Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. That's a different type of horror right there.
- 7:00Speaker 2: You don't want to go in one of those early morning.
- 7:02Speaker 2: So there's my pro tip. But thank you so much
- 7:04Speaker 2: to all the parents sounding off and sending me messages.
- 7:07Speaker 2: I really appreciate you guys. Second thing going on in
- 7:10Speaker 2: my life. I think I can.
- 7:12Speaker 4: Talk about this.
- 7:12Speaker 2: I don't think Knickknack will be mad at me.
- 7:16Speaker 4: You have to now.
- 7:17Speaker 2: I've made it no secret that I've talked about my sweet, huggable, lovable,
- 7:22Speaker 2: and highly squeezable Knickknack.
- 7:24Speaker 4: Oh, you love her.
- 7:25Speaker 2: I love her. I've talked about her for many years
- 7:27Speaker 2: on this show. And I've also talked about her skincare routine.
- 7:30Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 7:30Speaker 2: Where we have dropped... hundreds of dollars on various elixirs
- 7:34Speaker 2: and concoctions.
- 7:35Speaker 1: Yes.
- 7:36Speaker 2: To make yourself look 10 minutes younger. And she has
- 7:41Speaker 2: dropped a lot of cash on various products.
- 7:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:44Speaker 2: And now all of a sudden, all of those are
- 7:47Speaker 2: getting pushed to the side in the bathroom for just
- 7:49Speaker 2: two products now.
- 7:51Speaker 4: Oh, what are they?
- 7:52Speaker 2: So ladies, I don't know. Because she looks great.
- 7:53Speaker 4: So what's the secret? Are you going to tell her.
- 7:55Speaker 2: Secret right now? I'm going to tell some secrets right now. Okay.
- 7:57Speaker 2: So ladies, if you're looking for that perfect skincare routine,
- 8:01Speaker 2: Right now, she's just lathering on Vaseline.
- 8:03Speaker 4: It's so smart.
- 8:04Speaker 2: Every night.
- 8:05Speaker 4: It's cheap.
- 8:05Speaker 2: A high-quality Vaseline, though.
- 8:07Speaker 4: But still, that is such a smart move.
- 8:09Speaker 2: She was talking to me about the purification process behind
- 8:13Speaker 2: certain Vaselines this weekend. I pretty much checked out.
- 8:16Speaker 4: So you need the high-end Vaselines.
- 8:17Speaker 2: I would have rather been in that honey bucket than
- 8:20Speaker 2: listen to talk about high-end Vaselines. Vaseline, check. Check.
- 8:24Speaker 1: And then?
- 8:25Speaker 2: A big tub of Vaseline slathered on. And then the
- 8:28Speaker 2: new thing in our house. This is very exciting news.
- 8:31Speaker 2: And again, I think I can talk about this. But
- 8:33Speaker 2: I've heard a lot of people do this. She's rubbing
- 8:36Speaker 2: beef tallow on her face. Beef tallow.
- 8:41Speaker 4: The fat?
- 8:41Speaker 2: Is that not going to make her break out? It's
- 8:43Speaker 2: like beef fat. On the face? All over the face.
- 8:47Speaker 3: And.
- 8:47Speaker 2: I... She smells like my smoker. No, I'm joking. No,
- 8:52Speaker 2: but I guess this is a thing. There's a lot
- 8:55Speaker 2: of benefits. I'm reading about them right now because, again,
- 8:58Speaker 2: I checked out when she was talking to me. Deep hydration.
- 9:02Speaker 2: It softens the skin. It's nutrient-rich. It delivers fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E,
- 9:10Speaker 2: and K, which supports skin health and barrier repair. It
- 9:15Speaker 2: soothes irritation, and it's biocompatible. It easily absorbs into the
- 9:21Speaker 2: outer skin layer without feeling overly greasy when used in
- 9:25Speaker 2: small amounts. But still, I just think it's a little cringey.
- 9:29Speaker 2: They need to maybe pick a different name. Because she's like, oh,
- 9:35Speaker 2: my beef tallow's here. I'm like, is this for dinner,
- 9:39Speaker 2: or what's going on? She's like, no, it's for my face. Yeah,
- 9:43Speaker 2: so it's, I don't know. Ladies, is this a thing?
- 9:45Speaker 2: Are you rubbing beef fat all over your face now?
- 9:47Speaker 1: Well, and I'm also looking at it, and I think
- 9:49Speaker 1: some of the risks.
- 9:51Speaker 4: That I, they're alarming to me.
- 9:53Speaker 2: There's risks?
- 9:54Speaker 4: Well, yeah.
- 9:55Speaker 2: It's oil.
- 9:55Speaker 4: So it's like.
- 9:56Speaker 2: It's pretty prone to acne.
- 9:58Speaker 1: It's but yeah exactly like it can cause breakouts if
- 10:00Speaker 1: your skin is super sensitive because if used small amounts
- 10:04Speaker 1: you said it still is very heavy I mean it's
- 10:07Speaker 1: an oil so there's that also some of the commercial
- 10:10Speaker 1: ones they have additives in them which can further irritate
- 10:14Speaker 1: sensitive skin if you.
- 10:15Speaker 2: Have it I think this is a special the lack.
- 10:17Speaker 1: Of regulation that's really I mean the they have to
- 10:20Speaker 1: regulate this kind of stuff you know you can't just
- 10:22Speaker 1: be putting any old beef fat on your face and
- 10:25Speaker 1: expect i just.
- 10:25Speaker 2: Rub a steak on her face before i throw it.
- 10:27Speaker 1: On the grill i can just imagine a lot of
- 10:29Speaker 1: people just you know hearing this and doing something that
- 10:33Speaker 1: they shouldn't do so maybe look into it i.
- 10:36Speaker 2: Think she's done her research it's through some sort of
- 10:40Speaker 2: Extra special company. It's not like cheap. I'm sure. She's
- 10:44Speaker 2: not running into Walmart saying, hey, can you give me
- 10:46Speaker 2: whatever's left in the back?
- 10:47Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 10:47Speaker 4: Clean out your grease traps.
- 10:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:49Speaker 4: Put it in this container for me. Don't do that.
- 10:51Speaker 2: Put it in my little Rubbermaid. Lather it on. Is
- 10:53Speaker 2: that what you want? I don't know. I don't know.
- 10:57Speaker 4: So just make sure you do your due diligence if
- 10:59Speaker 4: you are listening.
- 11:00Speaker 2: Or not. Just wing it.
- 11:02Speaker 4: Go for it.
- 11:03Speaker 2: I don't care. You do you. It's your skin.
- 11:06Speaker 4: Get that 80-20 hamburger beef and there you go.
- 11:08Speaker 2: That's all you need.
- 11:09Speaker 4: The grease.
- 11:10Speaker 2: Except you're making tacos. Just drain it out into some
- 11:12Speaker 2: paper towel and dab that on your face before you
- 11:15Speaker 2: go to bed. So I did have to laugh because
- 11:18Speaker 2: the other $ 6, 000 worth of products sitting on the counter
- 11:22Speaker 2: there in the bathroom. You look at them and I
- 11:25Speaker 2: was going through them and I was like, honey, 99%
- 11:29Speaker 2: of these that you've spent money on, I'm reading them,
- 11:31Speaker 2: they're all like vegan, cruelty-free, not tested on animals, all natural, organic,
- 11:40Speaker 2: and then right next to it is beef tallow. I'm like, ha,
- 11:46Speaker 2: I guess we've changed our ways, haven't we? But her
- 11:49Speaker 2: skin looks amazing. But that's good. It's amazing.
- 11:52Speaker 1: There we go.
- 11:53Speaker 2: So soft and supple.
- 11:55Speaker 4: Oh, goodness.
- 11:56Speaker 2: Two things. A lot of ladies extremely concerned that Katie
- 12:01Speaker 2: didn't wear her Creamy ho dress? Is that what I
- 12:04Speaker 2: called it? The creamy ho dress.
- 12:06Speaker 4: The amount of people.
- 12:07Speaker 2: Where's that creamy ho dress?
- 12:08Speaker 4: Where's that creamy ho dress at?
- 12:10Speaker 2: So funny. You'll have to go find that on a podcast.
- 12:13Speaker 1: The best part was next to the big boss, someone
- 12:16Speaker 1: came up and said.
- 12:17Speaker 2: Where's that creamy?
- 12:18Speaker 4: And he was like.
- 12:19Speaker 2: Pardon me?
- 12:20Speaker 1: I know.
- 12:20Speaker 2: What do you guys talk about? Yeah, so she didn't
- 12:24Speaker 2: have the creamy ho dress.
- 12:25Speaker 4: Or the red heels.
- 12:26Speaker 2: Yeah, right. There's that, too.
- 12:28Speaker 4: Lots of comments on that, as well.
- 12:29Speaker 2: And then a lot of ladies coming up and getting
- 12:31Speaker 2: in my kitchen because they're like, Jer, you don't know
- 12:35Speaker 2: what you're talking about when it comes to the fingernails
- 12:37Speaker 2: and toenails being a different color.
- 12:39Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 12:40Speaker 2: Which we fought about. Was that on Friday?
- 12:42Speaker 4: It was on Friday.
- 12:43Speaker 1: You got told quite a few times.
- 12:45Speaker 2: A lot of ladies came up and got in my kitchen.
- 12:47Speaker 4: People came up and yelled at you.
- 12:50Speaker 2: They did.
- 12:51Speaker 4: What are you talking?
- 12:52Speaker 2: I didn't know.
- 12:52Speaker 1: Old school way to think that you can't have different
- 12:55Speaker 1: color nails as your toes.
- 12:58Speaker 2: Yeah. A lot of passion behind toenails and fingernails. I
- 13:01Speaker 2: had no idea. We fought for that right.
- 13:02Speaker 4: Don't you know?
- 13:03Speaker 2: You did fight for that right.
- 13:04Speaker 4: We sure did.
- 13:05Speaker 2: To party. But yeah, a lot of ladies came up
- 13:08Speaker 2: that were a couple glasses deep into wine.
- 13:10Speaker 4: Well, that's when you get that, you know, gumption to
- 13:12Speaker 4: do it.
- 13:12Speaker 2: They had a little liquid courage. Jimmy, get over here. Jimmy!
- 13:15Speaker 2: Look at my toes. And that one lady that came up,
- 13:18Speaker 2: she was beautiful, and her toes were all sorts of colors.
- 13:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 13:22Speaker 4: It was pretty funny.
- 13:23Speaker 2: Jeepers.
- 13:24Speaker 4: You got yelled at. That's why you ran off onto
- 13:27Speaker 4: the Ferris wheel, huh? Or the carousel.
- 13:29Speaker 3: I did.
- 13:29Speaker 2: There was a moment where I was like, my God,
- 13:31Speaker 2: there's so much anger tonight.
- 13:33Speaker 1: There's so many women yelling at me about their feet.
- 13:35Speaker 2: We just try to have fun on this show. Sometimes
- 13:37Speaker 2: you hit those hot buttons, and I'm like, this hot
- 13:39Speaker 2: button is fingernails and toenails.
- 13:42Speaker 4: We're coming for you, sir.
- 13:43Speaker 2: You're coming in hot, ladies.
- 13:45Speaker 3: Yeah, we are.
- 13:45Speaker 2: Hot, hot, hot. But we love you. Thanks for sounding
- 13:49Speaker 2: off with JKJ here at Mix.
