For it is not so that "John has been raised from the dead," nor that "one of the prophets of old has arisen": He has not "already existed in the ages that preceded us." He is the Christ! He is the Messiah! He it is who has come to "fill us at daybreak with [His] kindness, that we may shout for joy and gladness all our days."
