- 0:44during a capstone presentation at a special call board meeting
- 0:49last Thursday, highlighting progress, challenges, and a vision for the
- 0:54district's future. Wilder described stepping into the role as both
- 0:58unexpected and fact past, recalling how he received the call
- 1:03offering him the position while at home with his family.
- 1:07I was in a T shirt, flip flops and a
- 1:09baseball hat, he said. I have never put on a
- 1:13suit that quickly in my life. Throughout his presentation, Superintendent
- 1:18Wilder emphasized the support system that has helped guide his
- 1:22first year, including mentors and district leadership. He credited the
- 1:26board and the staff for fostering a strong culture from
- 1:30the beginning. From day one, it felt like a family,
- 1:34Wylder said. Once you're a red Bound and then there
- 1:39is a picture of him, and then underneath the caption
- 1:42reads Superintendent Travis Wilder gives the board his cap shot
- 1:47Stone presentation. Our next article is Corbin Kahn Expanding with
- 1:52Wrestling Star's new venue announcement by Sudie K Willis Wilson Corbyn.
- 1:59The first CORN of twenty twenty six was a huge
- 2:02success with a record breaking crowd. Corbin Kahan returned to
- 2:07the Corbyn Civic Center Saturday, bringing a full day of comics, collectibles,
- 2:12cost plays, and a special attraction that had wrestling fans
- 2:16lining up out the door, a meet and greet with
- 2:20Appalachian Mountain Wrestling talent. Fans of all ages packed the venue,
- 2:25taking advantage of the free admission event to meet their
- 2:28favorite wrestlers, snap photos, and talk one on one with
- 2:33the athletes, who will return to Corbin on August twenty
- 2:36second to for a live wrestling event at the Corbyn Arena.
- 2:42Two of the a MW's top champions Marcus Johnson and
- 2:46Marty Clay were crowd favorites throughout the day. Both men
- 2:51are known as good guys in the ring, and their
- 2:53interactions with fans reflected that reputation. When asked about his
- 2:59most memorable moment, Johnson didn't hesitate. He recalled the night
- 3:03he cashed in his gold for the Gold briefcase to
- 3:07challenge Misery for Kentucky Championship, a title he has now
- 3:12held for eight months. After defeating Misery, fans surrounded him
- 3:17in celebration. We took pictures, we hugged, and they told
- 3:21me how proud they were of me, he said, I'll
- 3:24never forget it. Johnson also shared that fans see his
- 3:27real personality at events like Corbin Kahan just amped up
- 3:33about ten times. Inspired by Mister Perfect and Louisville legend
- 3:38Muhammad Ali, he said their confidence in charisma influenced the
- 3:43persona he brings to the ring. Fans might be surprised
- 3:47to learn he wants tracked and feel once ran track
- 3:51and field and Morehead State University. Clay, amw champion for
- 3:57over a year, brought his own energy to the meet
- 4:00and greet his go to hype song before a match.
- 4:04Are you sure? Are you sure? Hank done it this
- 4:08way by Waylon Jennings. He credits wrestling icons Eddie Guerrero
- 4:15and brock Lesnar as his biggest inspirations growing up. When
- 4:20ask what he hopes fans feel when they meet him,
- 4:24Clay kept it simple, excitement, especially for the big August
- 4:28twenty second show. He added that fans, especially kids, have
- 4:32changed his life in meaningful ways. It's cool being like
- 4:36a hero for the kids, he said. They make you
- 4:39appreciate what you do. Not every wrestler at Corbyn Khan
- 4:45played the hero zexy Z Collins, one of am w's
- 4:49top villains, learned fully into his persona and fans loved
- 4:54every second of it. When asked what message he wants
- 4:58young fans to take four from him, he smirked that
- 5:03I am the sexiest man alive. Why should fans respect him?
- 5:08I'm just so good looking. What does he think when
- 5:12fans boo jealousy jealous of the long hair? Colin said
- 5:18he's better than anyone everyone else in the ring because
- 5:21of his sexiness, and admit it, he respects no one.
- 5:26It's all about sexy. His favorite way to get under
- 5:30a craft skin is to tell the truth, they are
- 5:34not sexy. One fan reacted, that's stuck with him. People
- 5:39are constantly telling me to eat cheeseburger, he said. They
- 5:42tell me that all the time. I don't know why.
- 5:46With champions, villains, and enthusiastic fans feeling, the Civic Center,
- 5:51Corbyn Kahn once again proved why it's one of the
- 5:54region's most popular culture pop culture events. Event organizers also
- 6:01revealed major news following Saturday's turnout. More than two three
- 6:07hundred people came through the doors during the spring event
- 6:11in record breaking crowd that confirmed their feeling that Corbin
- 6:14Khan has officially outgrown the Civic Center After five years
- 6:19at the venue, organizers announced that Corbin Khan will move

- 13:25Jellico Mountains Logging project canceled by Forest Service by Macy Swafford,
- 13:30Whitley County, A controversial federal logging proposal in the Jellico
- 13:36Mountains of southern Kentucky has been officially canceled, according to
- 13:41recently released information from the US Forest Service. The Jellico
- 13:46Visitation Management Project, proposed within the Daniel Boone National Forests
- 13:51in Stearns Ranger District, has been under consideration since twenty
- 13:56twenty two and would have authorized large scale timber harvesting
- 14:01and vegetation management across thousands of acres in mcquarie in
- 14:06Whitley Counties. In an April ninth letter from the Sturms
- 14:11District Ranger Kyle Edmonds, the Forest Service withdrew its draft
- 14:16decision for the project, stating that the new information warranted
- 14:21additional review and consideration. The agency also indicated that any
- 14:26future proposal would have to restart the federal environmental review
- 14:32process under the National Environmental Policy Act NEPA NEPA. The
- 14:39cancelation was reflected this week on the official Force Service
- 14:44project page, which now lists the project's current status as canceled.
- 14:49The Jellico project plans included timber harvesting, road work, and
- 14:54vegetation treatments designed to alter forest conditions and support a
- 14:59mix of age classes and species. The project drew significant
- 15:04public attention during its environmental review phase, with hundreds of
- 15:09public comments submitted for informal objections filled earlier this year.
- 15:14Filed earlier this year, Local opposition groups and environmental advocates
- 15:20had raised concerns about potential impacts, including erosion, water quality,
- 15:25wildlife habitat, and scenic views. Tim Martin, an administrator for
- 15:31the Jellico Mountains Logging Facebook group and a vocal critic
- 15:36of the project, said its cancelation has provided both him
- 15:40and the community with a sense of the peace of mind. However,
- 15:45Martin cautioned that questions remain about the long term outlook.
- 15:49We find it odd that the Forest Service sent a
- 15:52letter but still hasn't made a public statement, he said.
- 15:56We and the community are delighted with the news that
- 15:59the logging project is canceled, but absent a Forest Service
- 16:05statement on their reasoning in future plans, we are worried
- 16:09that this is a just a temporary delay. He also
- 16:13expressed concern that the project could return in a different form.
- 16:18The Jellico project may be revived in the future, perhaps
- 16:23under a streamlined NAPA National Environmental Policy Act process which
- 16:29doesn't require community input, Martin said, or perhaps it's just
- 16:34a pause while the Forest Service undertakes a major reorganization.
- 16:40Under the current federal rules, the withdrawal of the decision
- 16:44effectively halts the current proposal. Any future logging or vegetation
- 16:50management project in the same area would require a new
- 16:54environmental review process. Our next article is man charged with kidnapping,
- 17:00burglary after Knox County investigation by Masie Swafford. Corbin, a
