- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome to our lesson summary, God's wrath revealed, Romans 1
- 0:05Speaker 1: verses 18 through 23. The big idea of this section
- 0:11Speaker 1: is when God, when people rather, reject the truth about God,
- 0:16Speaker 1: they replace him with something else. So Paul, he opens
- 0:23Speaker 1: Romans by calling himself a servant of Jesus Christ, not
- 0:27Speaker 1: An apostle, you know, with titles and credentials, but a servant.
- 0:32Speaker 1: That tells you something right away about where this letter
- 0:35Speaker 1: is headed. He's not writing to impress anybody. He's writing
- 0:40Speaker 1: because people need to hear the truth. And by the
- 0:45Speaker 1: time we get to verses 16 and 17, it seems
- 0:49Speaker 1: like Paul, as one scholar said, he's fired up. He
- 0:53Speaker 1: says the gospel is the power of God that brings
- 0:56Speaker 1: salvation and reveals the righteousness of God through faith. But
- 1:01Speaker 1: before he gets to the good news, he actually starts
- 1:04Speaker 1: with the bad news. He does something that a lot
- 1:07Speaker 1: of preachers, not our pastor, right? But what a lot
- 1:10Speaker 1: of preachers do is they skip over. He gives us
- 1:14Speaker 1: the bad news first. You know, you can't fully appreciate
- 1:20Speaker 1: a rescue, right? unless you understand how serious the danger was.
- 1:27Speaker 1: You can't appreciate a doctor unless you understand how sick
- 1:30Speaker 1: you really are. And you can't appreciate salvation unless you
- 1:35Speaker 1: understand the weight of sin. So starting in verse 18,
- 1:40Speaker 1: Paul pulls back the curtain and shows us why the
- 1:45Speaker 1: whole world needs the gospel so desperately. First of all,
- 1:50Speaker 1: wrath The wrath of God is revealed in verse 18.
- 1:55Speaker 1: The theme here is sin provokes God's wrath. God, in
- 2:01Speaker 1: a nutshell, we know this. He cannot stand to be
- 2:03Speaker 1: in the presence of sin, and he can't stand it
- 2:06Speaker 1: when his own children are committing sin, let alone, for
- 2:09Speaker 1: that matter, those who have, and we'll get to that
- 2:12Speaker 1: part later, those who rejected him in sin. Before Paul
- 2:17Speaker 1: tells us how God saves sinners, He tells us why
- 2:22Speaker 1: sinners need saving. He says the wrath of God is
- 2:25Speaker 1: being revealed from heaven. Now, some people, they hear that
- 2:30Speaker 1: and they get uncomfortable. One scholar said, you'll hear people say,
- 2:35Speaker 1: and I've actually heard people say this, I believe in
- 2:38Speaker 1: a God of love, not a God of wrath, right?
- 2:42Speaker 1: What kind of theology is that? That's not biblical. Here's
- 2:46Speaker 1: the thing. Those two are not opposites. They're actually one
- 2:51Speaker 1: in the same. A parent who loves their child gets
- 2:55Speaker 1: angry when someone hurts that child. A judge who loves
- 3:00Speaker 1: justice gets angry at injustice. God's wrath is not him
- 3:05Speaker 1: losing his temper or losing control as far as anger
- 3:09Speaker 1: out of control. It is his holy reaction. We're talking
- 3:13Speaker 1: about his wrath to everything that destroys what he made
- 3:17Speaker 1: and loves. You don't have to have a God. I'm sorry,
- 3:21Speaker 1: you don't get to have a God, rather, who loves
- 3:25Speaker 1: people and not get a God who hates sin. He's
- 3:30Speaker 1: one in the same. He loves people, but he also
- 3:33Speaker 1: hates sin, as I already mentioned. And for anyone who
- 3:37Speaker 1: thinks the New Testament God chilled out, because some people
- 3:40Speaker 1: say that, you know, God of the Old Testament, he
- 3:42Speaker 1: was really a God of wrath. But when I look
- 3:44Speaker 1: in the New Testament, he's really a God of love. No.
- 3:47Speaker 1: He didn't chill out in the New Testament. As a
- 3:49Speaker 1: matter of fact, read the book of Revelation. Read the
- 3:51Speaker 1: whole New Testament for that matter. Read the book of Acts,
- 3:54Speaker 1: Acts chapter 5. In the infancy of the early church,
- 3:59Speaker 1: Ananias sends a fire when they lie to the Holy
- 4:01Speaker 1: Spirit and drop dead on the spot. That shows you
- 4:05Speaker 1: just how much God hates sin. His wrath is revealed.
- 4:12Speaker 1: In other words, sin provokes God's wrath. So the God
- 4:17Speaker 1: of the New Testament is the same God of the
- 4:19Speaker 1: Old Testament. He just added a rescue plan. That's what
- 4:22Speaker 1: he did in essence. When the first Adam fell, the
- 4:26Speaker 1: second Adam, Jesus Christ, God provided the second Adam in
- 4:31Speaker 1: his rescue plan. So Paul says this wrath is provoked
- 4:35Speaker 1: by three things in verse 18. Number one is provoked
- 4:39Speaker 1: by ungodliness. That simply means sin against God. When you
- 4:43Speaker 1: go back, to what happened in the Garden of Eden
- 4:46Speaker 1: ungodliness doesn't mean for example you cuss a lot although
- 4:51Speaker 1: that kind of that goes along goes with the territory
- 4:54Speaker 1: right that ain't that ain't that ain't a good thing
- 4:57Speaker 1: right it's sinful or or to stay out of church
- 5:01Speaker 1: that's also sinful What it means is to live as
- 5:05Speaker 1: if God doesn't factor into your decisions. In the words
- 5:10Speaker 1: of the late A. Lewis Patterson, Jr., to lead God
- 5:12Speaker 1: totally out of your thinking. You lead God totally out
- 5:17Speaker 1: of your thinking. It's the posture before God that says,
- 5:21Speaker 1: I got this. I don't need you. Every single morning
- 5:25Speaker 1: without ever acknowledging the one, which I'm my God, who
- 5:29Speaker 1: allows you to see another day. It goes all the
- 5:32Speaker 1: way back to Genesis, as I mentioned, when Adam sinned.
- 5:36Speaker 1: It wasn't just a rule that was broken. It was
- 5:39Speaker 1: a relationship that got fractured. So ungodliness is sin against God.
- 5:45Speaker 1: But then another way that God's wrath is revealed is
- 5:50Speaker 1: through unrighteousness of people, unrighteousness. That's sin against others. So ungodliness,
- 5:58Speaker 1: that's sin against God, but unrighteousness, is sin against others.
- 6:04Speaker 1: Once the relationship with God breaks up, our relationships with
- 6:08Speaker 1: each other start to fall apart. Remember Cain and Abel. Well,
- 6:14Speaker 1: we saw that in the Garden of Eden, for that matter.
- 6:17Speaker 1: But Cain and Abel didn't happen centuries after Adam and Eve.
- 6:21Speaker 1: It happened in the very next generation. Sin doesn't stay private.
- 6:27Speaker 1: It spreads. So unrighteousness is what you get when ungodliness
- 6:33Speaker 1: goes unchecked. It's like a slippery slope. One thing leads
- 6:37Speaker 1: to another, like an avalanche. By the way, an avalanche
- 6:41Speaker 1: actually starts as a small fracture, but then it can
- 6:48Speaker 1: actually reach speeds from what I read within 5 to
- 6:51Speaker 1: 10 seconds, speeds of 60 to 70 miles per hour.
- 6:53Speaker 1: So unrighteousness. Sin or unrighteousness can start small, but when
- 7:02Speaker 1: it goes unchecked, it gets out of control. It becomes
- 7:07Speaker 1: a large avalanche that can do a lot of damage.
- 7:11Speaker 1: So it moves from unrighteousness, sin against others. Well, let
- 7:15Speaker 1: me back up. It moves from ungodliness, sin against God,
- 7:20Speaker 1: to unrighteousness, sin against others. And then finally, it results
- 7:24Speaker 1: in unbelief, suppressing the truth. This is the one that
- 7:30Speaker 1: gets personal. Paul says, people suppress the truth. Not that
- 7:35Speaker 1: they never heard it, right? Not that they couldn't find it.
- 7:40Speaker 1: They know it, but they keep pushing it down because
- 7:44Speaker 1: they don't want God telling them how to live. Dr.
- 7:48Speaker 1: Tony Evans said it well. I like this illustration. It's
- 7:51Speaker 1: like trying to hold a beach ball underwater at a pool.
- 7:55Speaker 1: You ever tried to do that? hold a ball underwater,
- 7:59Speaker 1: it's almost impossible. You push that ball down with both hands,
- 8:04Speaker 1: but the moment you let up, it shoots right back
- 8:07Speaker 1: up out of the water. Why? Because the air inside
- 8:11Speaker 1: keeps pushing it upward. If you want to keep it down,
- 8:15Speaker 1: you have to keep forcing it underwater. This is exactly
- 8:19Speaker 1: what people do with the knowledge of God. Every sunrise
- 8:23Speaker 1: is evidence. That's proof. OK, that God exists. Every newborn
- 8:28Speaker 1: child is evidence that God exists. Every time you escape
- 8:33Speaker 1: something that could have killed you, that is evident. It
- 8:36Speaker 1: wasn't by chance. It wasn't by your own whatever. Like
- 8:40Speaker 1: if you're driving in a car and you almost you
- 8:43Speaker 1: almost killed, it wasn't your driving skills that saved you.
- 8:46Speaker 1: That was evidence of God. But instead of surrendering to it,
- 8:51Speaker 1: people kept forcing it back down because they want to
- 8:54Speaker 1: stay in charge. Of their own lives. The problem is. Never.
- 9:01Speaker 1: It's not a lack of evidence that God doesn't exist.
- 9:03Speaker 1: There's plenty. This is called general revelation by the way.
- 9:06Speaker 1: There's plenty of evidence that God exists. Proverbs 17.19 says.
- 9:12Speaker 1: He who loves transgression. Loves strife. That's the problem. People
- 9:17Speaker 1: push the truth down. Not because they can't see it.
- 9:21Speaker 1: They push it down. Because they love sin. problem is
- 9:26Speaker 1: that we have a sin nature remember that we got
- 9:30Speaker 1: from adam and eve but thanks be to god for
- 9:33Speaker 1: the second adam jesus christ now we have a new
- 9:36Speaker 1: nature now we got the new you know the new
- 9:38Speaker 1: man and the old man they don't get along they
- 9:40Speaker 1: war against one another with there's a struggle on a
- 9:43Speaker 1: daily basis but for the unbeliever it's just the old
- 9:48Speaker 1: man for the unbeliever it's the one who is It
- 9:53Speaker 1: goes beyond just breaking the rules. For the unbeliever it's
- 9:57Speaker 1: the one who refuses to let God be in control
- 10:01Speaker 1: so questions to ponder what is something God has been
- 10:05Speaker 1: putting in front of you that you keep pushing to
- 10:08Speaker 1: the side and is there a truth about your life
- 10:11Speaker 1: you already know but have been avoiding what would it
- 10:15Speaker 1: cost you finally to respond to it and so wrath
- 10:20Speaker 1: is revealed the wrath of god is revealed the witnesses
- 10:24Speaker 1: of god are revealed verses 19 and 20 the theme
- 10:28Speaker 1: here is creation has been preaching about god the whole
- 10:32Speaker 1: time if anyone says again with again we're still talking
- 10:36Speaker 1: about general revelation if anyone says they don't know whether
- 10:40Speaker 1: god exists paul says creation has already answered that question
- 10:44Speaker 1: you lying and the truth ain't in you that's just
- 10:46Speaker 1: My little feeble fishology that I had to add in there.
- 10:50Speaker 1: It's the truth. In other words, nobody on the face
- 10:53Speaker 1: of this earth. I don't care if they live in
- 10:55Speaker 1: a remote location. Creation has been preaching to you all along.
- 11:01Speaker 1: God exists. Nobody. And we'll see this in just a second.
- 11:05Speaker 1: You've already read it. Nobody will be. Nobody will have
- 11:08Speaker 1: an excuse. So witnesses reveal God. The first one here,
- 11:13Speaker 1: God's power is visible. Verse 19, Paul says God's invisible qualities,
- 11:18Speaker 1: his eternal power and divine nature are clearly seen through
- 11:23Speaker 1: what he has made creation. Just look at the sky
- 11:27Speaker 1: on a clear night in the country or wherever you are,
- 11:30Speaker 1: where there are no city lights. Look at the complexity
- 11:34Speaker 1: of the human immune system. Look at how a seed
- 11:39Speaker 1: knows to grow up toward the sun and push the
- 11:43Speaker 1: roots down into the ground without anybody teaching it to
- 11:46Speaker 1: do that. I remember when I was a kid, my
- 11:49Speaker 1: mom showed me something about, you know, God's creation. It
- 11:54Speaker 1: was a simple illustration that she showed me of a flower.
- 11:58Speaker 1: And my mom loved flowers. She loved to plant. had
- 12:01Speaker 1: flowers going all the way around the house and all
- 12:03Speaker 1: of that. But we had some flowers in the house,
- 12:05Speaker 1: and she showed me something. She said, watch, I'm going
- 12:07Speaker 1: to turn this flower around and where it was facing me,
- 12:12Speaker 1: away from the window, in other words, and give it
- 12:15Speaker 1: a few days and watch what happens. And so every
- 12:17Speaker 1: day I would go and watch that flower, and it
- 12:19Speaker 1: was so amazing to me to watch from day to
- 12:22Speaker 1: day how that flower turned toward the window. That's God's creation.
- 12:30Speaker 1: That's God's creation literally saying, look at God. God made me.
- 12:36Speaker 1: I'm going to turn towards what God has created. In
- 12:39Speaker 1: other words, it's turning towards the sun. I can't explain
- 12:42Speaker 1: it like I'm sure some of you can, but you
- 12:45Speaker 1: understand what I'm talking about. Try it. If you don't
- 12:47Speaker 1: believe me, I double dare you to try it. Turn
- 12:50Speaker 1: a flower away from a window. Make sure you leave
- 12:52Speaker 1: it there and give it a few days and watch
- 12:55Speaker 1: how that flower will turn towards Creation. Nobody tells, by
- 13:00Speaker 1: the way, the seasons when to change. Nobody winds up
- 13:05Speaker 1: the ocean. As a matter of fact, nobody can tell
- 13:07Speaker 1: the ocean, hey, you can only come so far. God
- 13:10Speaker 1: did that. Creation is not an accident. It's not about
- 13:14Speaker 1: the Big Bang Theory. No, that's not what happened. Everybody
- 13:19Speaker 1: knows or should know, based on what they see in creation,
- 13:24Speaker 1: God exists. So God's power is visible. Verse 19, God's
- 13:28Speaker 1: presence is universal. Paul says that people, here it is,
- 13:33Speaker 1: I've been saying it, without excuse. There will be no excuse.
- 13:38Speaker 1: Nobody will be able to stand at the great white
- 13:41Speaker 1: throne and say, well, nobody ever witnessed to me. Nobody
- 13:45Speaker 1: ever told me about Jesus Christ. So, you know, so
- 13:48Speaker 1: I get a pass. No, you're not going to get
- 13:50Speaker 1: a pass because God has been showing you all along.
- 13:56Speaker 1: phrase right there Paul says people will be without excuse
- 13:59Speaker 1: that phrase is not a technicality this it is a
- 14:02Speaker 1: statement about the fairness of God he did not hide
- 14:06Speaker 1: himself and then punish people for not finding him he
- 14:10Speaker 1: put the witness of his existence in front of every
- 14:15Speaker 1: human being who has ever lived so think of it
- 14:19Speaker 1: this way imagine you're walking in the woods you find
- 14:22Speaker 1: a watch lying on the ground, right? You ain't going
- 14:25Speaker 1: to say, well, wow, look at what the wind accidentally
- 14:28Speaker 1: put together. You ain't going to say that. No, no, no, no.
- 14:29Speaker 1: You're going to pick up that watch immediately and you
- 14:33Speaker 1: know somebody made that watch. In other words, the design
- 14:38Speaker 1: tells you there's a designer. Now, think about the human
- 14:43Speaker 1: eye with its millions of light-sensitive cells, right? Its ability
- 14:49Speaker 1: to adjust instantly between darkness, and bright light it's connection
- 14:56Speaker 1: to the brain if a watch proves there is a
- 15:01Speaker 1: watchmaker creation proves there is a creator every sunrise is
- 15:10Speaker 1: god's testimony he's literally saying to the whole world hey
- 15:15Speaker 1: i'm here i exist every heartbeat every breath we take
- 15:22Speaker 1: everything It's on his witness stand and it's letting the
- 15:27Speaker 1: world know that he exists. Creation tells us God exists.
- 15:32Speaker 1: Scripture tells us who he is. And Jesus shows us
- 15:39Speaker 1: what God is like. So when you look at the sky,
- 15:43Speaker 1: the seasons, the way life is going, life keeps going,
- 15:46Speaker 1: even through the hard times. What does that tell you
- 15:50Speaker 1: about God? What has God already revealed to you that
- 15:55Speaker 1: you haven't fully responded to yet? And then finally, wickedness
- 16:01Speaker 1: is revealed. Verses 21 through 23. The theme here is
- 16:04Speaker 1: humanity replaced God. Like I said earlier, man rejected God.
- 16:10Speaker 1: So here's what Paul gets to the heart of it.
- 16:13Speaker 1: The problem was never a lack of evidence that God exists.
- 16:17Speaker 1: The problem was man rejected God. People knew God and
- 16:21Speaker 1: they chose something else. Verse 21, they refused to honor him.
- 16:27Speaker 1: People want God's benefits without God's authority. Here it is.
- 16:33Speaker 1: They want the blessing without the boss, right? They'll pray
- 16:38Speaker 1: when they need something, but like he doesn't exist when
- 16:43Speaker 1: things are going fine. In other words, we're going to pray.
- 16:45Speaker 1: When I need something, when things work, When turmoil is
- 16:48Speaker 1: going crazy, when things are going crazy in my life,
- 16:51Speaker 1: storms are in my life, I'm on my knees. But
- 16:55Speaker 1: as long as everything is going fine, God ain't going
- 16:58Speaker 1: to hear from me. Wanting God's hand without submitting to
- 17:01Speaker 1: his lordship is not faith. It's just using him like
- 17:06Speaker 1: a spare tire. And that's about the only time that
- 17:09Speaker 1: people who refuse to honor God, that's the only time
- 17:11Speaker 1: they think about God, when they need him. Like a
- 17:14Speaker 1: spare tire, when's the last time you even checked? to
- 17:16Speaker 1: see if you had a spare tire in your car.
- 17:18Speaker 1: Then they refused to thank God. Verse 21. Gratitude keeps
- 17:23Speaker 1: a person humble because it reminds us that what we
- 17:27Speaker 1: have did not start with us. Every blessing comes from somewhere.
- 17:32Speaker 1: Let me say it another way. Every blessing that we have,
- 17:35Speaker 1: every blessing we have received, it came from God. Life, breath, ability, opportunity,
- 17:43Speaker 1: and provision came All came from God. It wasn't by chance.
- 17:47Speaker 1: It wasn't by luck. It wasn't because we were smart enough.
- 17:51Speaker 1: It wasn't because I got multiple degrees. None of that.
- 17:55Speaker 1: Everything I have came from God. Yeah, as we say,
- 18:00Speaker 1: what I know, the Lord taught me, right? Where I
- 18:03Speaker 1: came from, God brought me. And where I'm going one day,
- 18:07Speaker 1: God is going to have to take me. But an
- 18:09Speaker 1: ungrateful heart begins to say, I did this. I built this.
- 18:15Speaker 1: I learned this. The moment you stop thanking God, you
- 18:20Speaker 1: start taking credit for things he gave you. That is
- 18:24Speaker 1: why ingratitude is so dangerous. It slowly pushes God out
- 18:29Speaker 1: of the picture until a person begins to believe they
- 18:32Speaker 1: are the source of their own life. That's the saddest. Oh,
- 18:38Speaker 1: my God. I'm going to keep going. That is a
- 18:40Speaker 1: sad testimony of anybody's life. And once you take credit
- 18:45Speaker 1: for the gifts, it's not long before you start thinking
- 18:49Speaker 1: you don't need the giver. Like the person who thanks
- 18:54Speaker 1: their boss for the promotion, but never once thanks God
- 19:00Speaker 1: for the ability, the health, and opportunity that made the
- 19:04Speaker 1: promotion possible. God is the one who opened doors. That door.
- 19:09Speaker 1: And then finally. Verses 22 and 23. They refused God
- 19:15Speaker 1: with idols. I'm sorry. They replaced rather. God with idols.
- 19:21Speaker 1: So finally Paul says. They exchanged the glory. Of the
- 19:25Speaker 1: immortal God. For images. For humans. For animals. And things.
- 19:31Speaker 1: In other words. For temporary stuff. They traded the eternal.
- 19:35Speaker 1: For the temporary. That's a better way of saying it.
- 19:38Speaker 1: Now we tend to hear, you know, we tend to
- 19:40Speaker 1: hear this word idol and picture someone bowing to a
- 19:43Speaker 1: golden statue. But adultery didn't disappear. It just got more sophisticated.
- 19:50Speaker 1: In many of our communities, the real idols are things
- 19:53Speaker 1: like reputation, what the neighborhood thinks about you, family approval,
- 19:58Speaker 1: letting people pleasing run your entire life, hustle, culture, grinding
- 20:03Speaker 1: so hard that there's no room for God, rest or relationships.
- 20:08Speaker 1: And sometimes the idol, sometimes, believe it or not, can
- 20:11Speaker 1: be the church itself going through the religious motions without
- 20:16Speaker 1: ever actually encountering the living God. It would be like
- 20:20Speaker 1: somebody trading a brand new car for a busted bicycle.
- 20:24Speaker 1: Of course, everybody would say, well, what's wrong with you?
- 20:28Speaker 1: That doesn't make any sense. But that is exactly what
- 20:32Speaker 1: humanity did. And they're still doing it today. God offered himself,
- 20:37Speaker 1: his glory, his truth, his presence, his love, and people said,
- 20:41Speaker 1: and they're still rejecting God today, they're saying, no thank you.
- 20:45Speaker 1: I'd rather have this temporary stuff. I'd rather have money.
- 20:49Speaker 1: I'd rather have status. I'd rather have pleasure. I'd rather
- 20:52Speaker 1: have a presidential position. I'd rather have power. They traded
- 20:56Speaker 1: the creator of the universe for the things that cannot
- 20:59Speaker 1: even save their souls. So the application is, ask yourself honestly,
- 21:06Speaker 1: What has taken the place of God in my life?
- 21:10Speaker 1: It doesn't have to be something evil. It could be
- 21:13Speaker 1: your career. And really, that's how Satan operates a lot
- 21:16Speaker 1: of times. He'll take something that's actually good. And before
- 21:22Speaker 1: you know it, it'll take the place of God. It
- 21:26Speaker 1: could be a relationship. It could be a career. It
- 21:30Speaker 1: could be your comfort. It could be your reputation. Anything
- 21:34Speaker 1: you cannot, watch this, anything that you cannot imagine your
- 21:38Speaker 1: life without, anything you would rather keep than give to God,
- 21:43Speaker 1: that's your idol. So is there something in your life
- 21:47Speaker 1: that you're holding on to more tightly than you're holding
- 21:53Speaker 1: on to God? Are you worshiping the creator or something
- 21:57Speaker 1: he created? So as I close, Paul has been building
- 22:02Speaker 1: this case. Sin, remember, it leads to suppression. Suppression leads
- 22:06Speaker 1: to adultery. Adultery leads to darkness. Verse 21 says their
- 22:10Speaker 1: thinking became futile and their hearts became darkened. That is
- 22:14Speaker 1: what happens when you keep pushing the truth down and
- 22:18Speaker 1: filling the space with something else. But here's the gospel.
- 22:24Speaker 1: That exchange doesn't have to be permanent. It could be reversed.
- 22:29Speaker 1: The same God whose wrath is revealed in this passage
- 22:34Speaker 1: is the same God. Because he's not just a God
- 22:37Speaker 1: of wrath, remember? He's also a God of love. And
- 22:42Speaker 1: that same God who sent his son to absorb that
- 22:45Speaker 1: wrath on our behalf. We should thank God that Romans
- 22:49Speaker 1: doesn't end at chapter 1. Praise the Lord. It moves
- 22:54Speaker 1: through the bad news so that we can understand the
- 22:57Speaker 1: magnitude of the good news. By the time we get
- 23:00Speaker 1: to Romans chapter 5, Paul says, while we were yet sinners,
- 23:05Speaker 1: not after we cleaned ourselves up, by the way, but
- 23:08Speaker 1: while we were yet sinners, Christ died. Not after we
- 23:12Speaker 1: got it all together, but after Christ died for us
- 23:16Speaker 1: and rose again. That great exchange Paul described, trading the
- 23:22Speaker 1: glory of God for the things that cannot save, that
- 23:25Speaker 1: exchange can be reversed. You can trade the idols back in.
- 23:31Speaker 1: You can stop suppressing the truth and start surrendering to it.
- 23:35Speaker 1: You can stop worshiping what God made and go back
- 23:38Speaker 1: to worshiping God himself. And when you do, when you
- 23:42Speaker 1: make that decision, this is not just some religious decision,
- 23:46Speaker 1: by the way, it is coming home. Eternally, that is.
- 23:51Speaker 1: It is God bringing you out of darkness into his
- 23:55Speaker 1: marvelous light. It is the beach ball finally allowed to
- 24:00Speaker 1: rise to the surface. Creation has been preaching all along.
- 24:05Speaker 1: The question today is, are you finally ready to respond?
- 24:11Speaker 1: To God be the glory.
