- 0:17Hi, this is Michael Hurley from Ghost Galaxy, and you're listening to our
- 0:20CON's corner. Really all right, everybody, what's going on? Everybody?
- 0:25I am still on the only the wo okay, I e joined here by
- 0:31the normal cast of misfits. Z showed up on time today? What's up
- 0:34to say? I'm always on time? If I? Oh man, no
- 0:38I'm not. That's so this is where you use that line a wizard,
- 0:45you know? Ye there you go. Speaking of wizards, we got the
- 0:52Choke Show, Draft Corps, Hi guys, cass drabs here cast raschke but
- 0:58just some cash see yeah. Speaking of casuals, what's up do you walk?
- 1:03Hello? Key Forge community. Glad to get actually introduced for once.
- 1:08YEA been a couple of weeks. I introduced you. I okay, maybe
- 1:11I didn't. I don't remember. But we got Sheep too. What's up
- 1:15Sheep? Not much? That's the most excited I've heard you in months.
- 1:21Uh. And we have the newest number to our little shit and dig showing
- 1:23up. We got Southerly. What's up Southerly? Ahoy ahoy oh I like
- 1:30it. Yeah, that got me. But we got some stuff and things
- 1:38to go over. Tell people who Southerly is we did? I don't know?
- 1:42Maybe what more do they need to know? Yeah? True, So
- 1:48Southerly has been brought on to do our since our normal programmer and where not?
- 1:55Yeah, and our normal programmer doesn't know how to program anymore drazz corp.
- 2:00So so as a good podcast we would say welcome Southerly, who are
- 2:06you? And how did you get into keyborge. We're not a good We're
- 2:09not a good podcast, so we're skipping all of that. We're just a
- 2:12bunch of still weird. Yeah, warned you guys, but we figured this
- 2:19is a good time to have silently on. I don't know if it's going
- 2:21to be joining us all the time, but he's working on some of the
- 2:25background stuff for us as far as well. I guess it's up there.
- 2:30For for the news, the score, I can't call it Zeta testing,
- 2:34I just can't. It hurts. We are currently the z score process with
- 2:40some of the long term and a few new patreons that are out in the
- 2:46bow. Um but big news. Are you guys ready for this huge news
- 2:53art? Did you hear about it? Sails? Are she got man?
- 3:00She's got a a steck confirmation to the day. Yeah, I did all
- 3:06right, which one of us sign it to him? But Creative Chaos was
- 3:15insistent that he was going to get his after me. But indeed his conflication
- 3:22confirmation came five minutes before mine. Oh by mere minutes. Eh, that's
- 3:30right. I am still, to my knowledge, the last person to get
- 3:34it, the last American. No no, the last American don't don't go,
- 3:38don't go, say the last oh no no. We got enough trash
- 3:42for laughing at the poor EU crowd and other countries not getting their stuff.
- 3:49Hey, I feel bad. I feel bad for him. Like if if
- 3:52we had to wait, and it really did it was, it was rough.
- 3:54I can only imagine having to wait longer. And that's where I leave
- 4:00it. Um, I mean, never mind, I was gonna. I
- 4:05was just gonna start a USA chant. But it seems seems not good at
- 4:11this point in time. But as it's probably waiting now that it's live in
- 4:15TCO rights, No, God, that has to hurt too. I forgot
- 4:19about all that. Now you can play TCO and they just get people playing
- 4:24their stuff. I've got some stuff for selling, eBay, I got the
- 4:28stuff. Man, you need some stuff, I got it. I also
- 4:30have the stuff on eBay. We will ship it to you faster than gg
- 4:33I it. That's probably not ye, it's the problem with all of that.
- 4:41But voult tour Philly. We're here, Well we're almost here. Yeah,
- 4:46you just say we're here, right, we're here. I mean by
- 4:48the time you release those, it will be here. Yeah. Probably with
- 4:53my way my schedule has been running lately. Yeah, by the time we
- 4:55release this, well, you guys will be playing there you go, we
- 5:00should probably might be. Yeah, we might want to figure out a recording
- 5:03schedule for that week. Consider you guys are Scoots. Scoots could do it.
- 5:12I mean, well maybe not drast Core. Drast Core you live there,
- 5:15so yep, that's not a big thing. But I think the rest
- 5:17of you are leaving on Thursday, which is the normal time we record what
- 5:23these guys are all coming Friday on Thursday. No one's leaving on throw.
- 5:27It's all Friday. It is very early Friday, though, very really well,
- 5:32um, we'll figure something out. We'll figure something out for next week.
- 5:38Maybe it'll just be me Southerly and drast Core. I mean, we
- 5:41do have such titillating news to share every week that he said I'm just imagining
- 5:47that it's going to be plethora of news for next week as well. I
- 5:51mean maybe, I mean it is pretty big. This is who knows.
- 5:55Maybe by next week they'll be like product announcements of Winter and International are gonna
- 6:00get stuff, vault announcements for the other two here in the unknown amounts that
- 6:04are there. See, your optimism is amazing today. By next Thursday,
- 6:11we could be announcing the German nationals, the Italian nationals, the UK nationals,
- 6:16because these are gonna have to happen real soon to go to this World's
- 6:23event in four months. I did see a rumor of China event for real
- 6:32or not. Sorry, that would be funny if the Chinese got Oh wait
- 6:36yeah, Canada they should have a nationals right yeah, I mean you would
- 6:44think Canada would have a nationals. They're like, right there, I'm greedy.
- 6:49I just want to see actual information for our US prevo lease. Oh
- 6:56well, I mean it is it is. Information is out so really there
- 7:01is a not very well released flyer. Yeah that says you can get stuff.
- 7:11There is nothing about like this is how we want you to run an
- 7:14event. These are prize it These are UM tournament software. This is anything
- 7:23like, here's three decks in a chain tracker, do what you want with
- 7:27them, Like that's what we have at the moment. I don't mind that.
- 7:30That's not that bad. It is that bad. If you're a store
- 7:34looking to run this stuff, you give it to the person that plays key
- 7:42Forge and the four other people that are there, we'll play with them,
- 7:45Okay, I mean like that that is the honest way it will run.
- 7:49But that's not very good for trying to build communities or do something with it,
- 7:54like I mean, well and good science. I mean, and it's
- 7:58not like they're like, oh, there's you know, what are the there's
- 8:01no real prizing like really, I mean I shouldn't say real prising, but
- 8:05there's no prizing involved, like there's no shards or anything getting handed out.
- 8:09So wow, clearly because there's been nothing to announced. But as as a
- 8:16representative of a store, who like or say you're a store and you're like,
- 8:20oh, hey, key Forge was okay before, I wouldn't mind running
- 8:22this. I don't have a current crowd, but I think I could run
- 8:24this and make some money. I'm gonna order this, and then they're just
- 8:28like, oh, I don't actually do with it, like, what's the
- 8:33best tournament format for this game? What's like any research or work they have
- 8:37to do is bad. Yeah, we do want to take the burden off
- 8:43of the game store. As you heard from our own local game store.
- 8:46They didn't know that we were actually meeting every week and we've been doing that
- 8:50for multiple months now. They thought we are just another magic Pod group that
- 8:54was over in the back, and so we had to really inform them.
- 8:58So again, have a presence, talk to your your stores, keep buying
- 9:03product. But yeah, anything we can do to remove any thought process from
- 9:09them. Hey, there's a key forwards group, go play with them there
- 9:11on this day. That's back, it's alive. That's what we really need
- 9:16communicated. And you know, beyond that, we need software. We need
- 9:20a lot more, but at least start there. All right, Moving farward
- 9:26and SaaS update Zee, what's going on in the world of SaaS. She
- 9:33just released something on the I think it's on the home page. I actually
- 9:37never navigate to it, and it says this woe to be those who seek
- 9:41the sas. The architect of SaaS are hard at work building sas and art
- 9:46scores for Winds of Exchange. You should expect scores to be released around early
- 9:50July, but no tadline has been set, and she also has a note
- 9:54here that she is planning on building a feature for six dollars and up atreons
- 10:01to preview SAS scores as they are built. That sounds terrifying, but yes,
- 10:07I am part of that. I am one of the SaaS architects.
- 10:11So we've been looking at lots of cards, lots of synergies, a lot
- 10:13of things are going to have to change because what was very different our tidings
- 10:20was technically very different, but the work really wasn't put in to see the
- 10:24difference. But I can't affirm that there is a lot of work being done
- 10:28on the back end to try to get SaaS scores to be at least as
- 10:37accurate as the work for Koda. I don't know if that's gonna ever like
- 10:41be be a thing because Koda was actually really easy to SAS because it was
- 10:46built for that. So I'm not sure when this all get done. But
- 10:50there is a whole group of people working on this daily as we speak.
- 10:56And if you're tired of waiting for SaaS, sign up for our Patreon for
- 11:01a dollar a month. You can get your Z score, you can get
- 11:03that to day and you can get that back you would like to provide.
- 11:07And the only the only thing that it will take the longest time is for
- 11:11me to get you a green name tech or Orange orange on our discord.
- 11:18You do you have to be part of our discord? Do you have to
- 11:20be at least one other two Patreon? And right now you do. It
- 11:24is all through Google. But potentially in the future, um, you'll see
- 11:31that. Did you want to say anything about that set? At least in
- 11:33you here with this? I don't know what there is to say there.
- 11:39I'm the developer here there. They are played in the works. That's that's
- 11:43what coders sound like, guys. Software software software zero zero one one,
- 11:50zero zero one. I didn't go outside today. That that is the most
- 11:54humble, humble statement there south the amount of time and effort that you have
- 12:01put in. On the backside, I'm just still in awe. So thank
- 12:05you, thank you, thank you. I still like that I didn't go
- 12:07outside today. On the other side of that, as far as how the
- 12:13Z score goes like, I've gotten multiple feedback this week and last week.
- 12:16As far as like people telling me that the Z scores that they're seeing are
- 12:20lining up with their decks that they've played a lot forever and the decks that
- 12:26they've been seeing performing well in low coming up. So that's all super encouraging.
- 12:31Um I hope it gets better over time, kind of just like SAS
- 12:33did. And they can co exist together because they are very different animals,
- 12:39even though the goals I mean the goals goals, so to rate decks in
- 12:43a certain way, SAS and ARC account for everything all cards can do.
- 12:50Z score doesn't necessarily do that because there are lots of cards I just don't
- 12:52give a shit about because they don't win games, and they will never have
- 12:56any impact under Z score other than to lower the effort of the deck because
- 13:01they just don't win. Even if they do do this one thing randomly once
- 13:05in a blue moon, and SaaS is going to put effort into capturing that
- 13:09and score world not UM. So that is that is going to be the
- 13:15main difference going forward, assuming they co exists peacefully. One day, don't
- 13:20go to war. I've got time for war. I just need to signature.
- 13:30Yeah, turned two keys at the same time, right, they're both
- 13:31they're both crazy. But I've been enjoying seeing the parallels now that I'm working
- 13:39on both SIDM too. Very interesting, but that time of year, we
- 13:46haven't done one of these, and actually quite a long time, so we've
- 13:50Doctor Sheep thought it was a good idea that we get into the ama Um.
- 13:54That's why I brought Silently on because he is now a part of the
- 13:58ac mingle. Um. Did you put these in order? Or my yeah
- 14:03you did. I literally just tasted them from the discord in the order that
- 14:07they were asked. Got it? Got it? That's good because I was
- 14:09going to read out who actually asked them, because I think that sometimes will
- 14:13give context. Um. But I would also just go to the discord.
- 14:18Yeah, that's where I'm at. So I just wanted to know if they're
- 14:20in that order. But let's start out with X ray sucks. Why is
- 14:26Rookie the host of the show and not Doctor Sheep. We need more positivity.
- 14:33Well, I don't check it up through the moon personality. I don't
- 14:39know. Maybe because I started the show. I don't know it was kie
- 14:45show. It is deference to you, I mean, and to be fair,
- 14:50Sheep and Z we're hosts of the show for like a year when I
- 14:54was gone. I wasn't gone for a year, but like for like three
- 14:58months when I was gone, they basically around the show. It was ze
- 15:01eu walk and sheet. I mean we did get better. Yeah, I
- 15:07mean I'm here now. So and and he did get out to play key
- 15:15Forge. I did. I got to play this week. Oh my goodness.
- 15:18I was so excited to get out and actually just play some key Forge.
- 15:22It was nice, it felt good. It felt good. So the
- 15:24key to being the lead host is being the loudest and wookie. Right.
- 15:31I thought it was like doing the editing because nobody wants to do that part.
- 15:35Yeah. Also also that also including including the host. He also doesn't
- 15:41want to do that, but yeah, let's do it. Yeah, but
- 15:43he actually does it. So he also edited when we were recording and he
- 15:48wasn't even here, so I'll give him that. I sure did. So
- 15:52the show must go on, right, And sometimes you got a tap dance
- 15:56and and sometimes I don't know where I was headed with that any but you
- 16:00know you're not tap dancing, So yeah, I'm not tap You're right in
- 16:04one hundred percent. I don't know how to tap dance. But I think
- 16:08a lot of people like confused what a host is, Like, my job
- 16:12is to facilitate the show moving forward and let all the others talk. Sometimes
- 16:18I get on my soapbox, I bring out the old soapbox and rant.
- 16:22But uh yeah, I think your job was to demand the unnerving of baton
- 16:29switch. I thought that's what it was. Well, that's that's the soapbox.
- 16:32That's one of my boxes that I bring out and that I stand on
- 16:37and go, hey, what do you what do you think I mean?
- 16:41One day, one day, Shadows will be free again to rule the world?
- 16:45All right? How do you balance competitive natures with the randomness and coin
- 16:48flipping kind of gameplay we experience? What keeps you playing this game rather than
- 16:55going to something where you have more agency? Boy, we love that word,
- 17:00like, I don't. I mean, at this point in time,
- 17:03I feel like I used to know what the word agency mean meant, and
- 17:07then gig came along, and I don't think anyone knows what this word means
- 17:11anymore. But anyway, I don't actually know what they're referring to as far
- 17:17as other games is more agency. Like, I'm from the board game world,
- 17:22and there are board games that have like no random factors but most have
- 17:26plenty of random factors. So like, this is just part of gaming,
- 17:30right, Like I don't know of any other thing that I would even attempt
- 17:34to go to that wouldn't have like that thing in it. Right. Well,
- 17:41agency in this case often refers to deck building, yes, yeah,
- 17:47but even if you're building a deck, like, I think what they're actually
- 17:51like experiencing in gameplay is the same thing that happens there too, because like
- 17:59all those deck building games, you can end up with clumping or bad drawls
- 18:03or not x deck. Yeah. Well, walk walkbot, says dictionary dot
- 18:11Com. Definition number nine of ten says the capacity to act or exert work.
- 18:17Okay, I'm not if you just a little better, right, I
- 18:22don't. I don't really know what happened there. Wait, what that's one
- 18:25of the mini definitions. It's the actual definition. So you have the ability
- 18:30to control your deck, which is what they're trying to do. But we
- 18:33loved when the deck was just printed and we played what was given to us.
- 18:37Yeah, but I think the thing, I think we have almost the
- 18:41same amount of agencies any other game. Honestly, no one I think we
- 18:45do know, Like you are delivered sealed yea, but even sealed right,
- 18:53Like it is the puzzle aspect. It is the constraint that breeds innovation.
- 19:00Right, How do I take this pile of questionable cards and makes good and
- 19:07that to me is way more interesting than you know. How do I build
- 19:11some pods to install win on turn four? Yeah, I have the exact
- 19:18opposite. I want to insta on turn four. Yeah. Yeah, yeah,
- 19:22you're also a part of the forest, so yeah, Or I want
- 19:26to take everything to a screeching halt, to to just piss you off as
- 19:30much as possible. What he's what he's joy is taking your agency away.
- 19:37You can forge creatures, play creatures, make choices now. No, no,
- 19:42I'm taking that all away. No, I want to play. I
- 19:47want to play chess while you're playing checkers. That's that's really what I want
- 19:49to do. Can we talk about the antiquities dealer that brought in Heart of
- 19:55the Forest though for a second, why sh I love it? I love
- 20:00it? So there's there's your spectrum. Love it, hate it, love
- 20:06it. I will say for balance, competitive, I think that's key.
- 20:08Forge has that balance. But I like to pick decks that are more consistent.
- 20:11I think you look at that withdrawing efficiency, practice, being able to
- 20:15play your deck. Um, but frankly, you gotta be okay with losing
- 20:18because that's Key Forge. At times it's just completely out of your control with
- 20:22the cards and how they come together. But that's the board game player in
- 20:26me, and I'm okay with that. Yeah, that's something like that's all
- 20:29games pretty much. It's every game I ever played really better that I played
- 20:32a lot like anyone. That's like came up with the Catan experience. Right.
- 20:37There's just certain games where you got the six and eight and it just
- 20:40doesn't hit, like come on, um, you just gotta learn to so
- 20:45you know, play through it. Okay. So my input on this is
- 20:48agency, which back did Ewok's definition, which is ability to put in work
- 20:56right. Like that is why Key four is the game for a lot of
- 21:02people, because you there is to a greater extent in this than other games,
- 21:07diminishing returns for work spent not practicing actual play right the other card games
- 21:18and a lot of build a deck games like spending a ton of time right
- 21:23as sets are coming out or being right on the cutting edge and having the
- 21:27plans and trying to build meta decks and spending tons of time thinking about that
- 21:33is beneficial, and then the other half of the world net decks it whatever
- 21:37the best players think of. But the best players out there, they're on
- 21:41the cutting edge and winning because they spend a ton of time with their agency
- 21:45planning what's going to be good and what's going to work that happens. That
- 21:51is a thing in key Forge, for sure, but you have far less
- 21:55ability to say I want exactly this set of colors. You get these few
- 22:00cards with some other stuff, right like that. That's how it works in
- 22:03this game, and that is why it is a game for so many because
- 22:10we don't have time to constantly be re doing iterations on a single deck.
- 22:15I mean, like, is this past if I have three copies of this
- 22:19kill spell and put in this one that handles this situation, or is it
- 22:23has to have four copies of this and I gotta play fifty games with this
- 22:26deck each way to find out which one actually gives me the highest win percentage,
- 22:32Right Like people do that with Magic. People are doing that with key
- 22:37Forwards with some extent too, But it's like it's an a B deck thing.
- 22:41It's maybe they're doing it more and as as they were talking about in
- 22:45an alliance, Like people do that an alliance, they switch out pods and
- 22:48then they have to play a ton more games to see if that is overall
- 22:52effective. And that sounds awful to me, and I hate it. And
- 22:56it's why I play this game because you don't have to do that stuff and
- 23:00you can still be competitive, right, Like, that's why I like this
- 23:06game. And this game also has the unique aspect of the deck. I'm
- 23:11Plane is not the deck You're plane where I can be competitive at top and
- 23:15magic because I can neck deck, right, I'm I'm that smart. But
- 23:18that loses a lot of luster to me, Like, yeah, I'm just
- 23:23playing the same deck as somebody else, Like even though I'm gonna go play
- 23:29Fraud, which is the same deck somebody else is played, but nobody else
- 23:32is playing Fraud at this event. So that's the things that make key Forge
- 23:38the game. Yeah. Well, and even to what your point, like
- 23:42and Fraud, yes, every deck is unique. Yeah, yeah, Fraud
- 23:47is so unique. There's very like there aren't any other really equivalent ish decks
- 23:52to it either. So it's not like like you could say someone else is
- 23:56also playing any similar deck. No one else will be playing this or deck
- 24:00either, So like that is still a pretty unique thing about the game we
- 24:04play that does not exist elsewhere. But I think in the end, the
- 24:07answer to this question is like, we don't actually consider the result as random
- 24:11as I think the question is asking we. I think most of us consider
- 24:17to be along the gameplay experience as most other games that are deck builders.
- 24:22And then there is Yes, there are high rolls, low roles, but
- 24:26that is all games that is a watch for us. I think that's what
- 24:30we're saying. All right, anybody else chiming in before we move on?
- 24:41Going once, going twice? Question how many wild wormholes? Is too many
- 24:48wild wormholes? Four? Yeah, and a good one. There is no
- 24:57such thing as too many Nova and me fight about this card. I hate
- 25:03this card. This card. This is if random inconsistency stuffs that we were
- 25:10just talking about in the last question, right, Like, this is the
- 25:12kind of randomness that can drive me nuts. Yeah, if you're um,
- 25:19number of wild wormholes is equal to or greater than the number of key hammers
- 25:25in your decks. See see, I have a different answer. Ready,
- 25:32I'm ready three three because I enjoy d house in Jabrey. Oh oh,
- 25:37hold on, So we do need one more. We need one more because
- 25:42at this moment called the Discovery call of Discoveries winning because they came out with
- 25:49an episode more recently wild Wormhole. You just need one more and then you
- 25:53guys win. So I don't know what what you guys are waiting for.
- 25:56Get on it. They've moved on to a new cast. You got to
- 26:02go back and republic, go back to that thread publiode just being like we
- 26:07won, and then yeah, that's why I don't need we wanted to just
- 26:14hates me. I swear like, if I play this card Keyhammer will not
- 26:18even be in my deck. It will find it on top of my deck
- 26:22and play it to them later. You lose, uh frod is guaranteed the
- 26:30wild Wormhole into a battle fleet when you have zero Mars cards. Fantastic.
- 26:37Yeah, I mean it's just like anything. It depends on the deck.
- 26:41And yeah, you also have to know what's in your drop hile m hm,
- 26:45Yeah, you know my math right and all that, and then you
- 26:48still get burned. It's great, and then it's actually far worse to lose
- 26:52to somebody who's like and if I wild Wormhole into my key cheat, I
- 26:56win, yes, and then they happens against me normally something I'm like,
- 27:06if I wild wormhole into my wild wormhole, that will give me my seven
- 27:11and then if that wild wormhole hits my key charge, I win. And
- 27:14then it just happens and you're like, I hate I hate this game.
- 27:18Yeah, that did something like that to me. Today. They're like,
- 27:21if I reap to draw efforbuts and principle, I can have one more turn.
- 27:25And then that happened. They had fourteen cards in their deck. It
- 27:27was like that kind of randomness. It's frustrating. It is frustrating, but
- 27:37it is also part of wild game is fun again, stupid stuff happens,
- 27:42yeah, And I mean, like I'm competitive and all, but like I
- 27:47can accept that silly stuff is going to happen and you just go on with
- 27:49your day. And then she gets a warning because he threatens his opponent.
- 27:55But anyway, um, I've never threatened anybody. Oh, because I'm like
- 28:03that you did it wasn't you walk? When? What did you do?
- 28:10Like you threw cards or something. I tossed my deck on the table because
- 28:14I was frustrated and that was a time call thing. I could you know
- 28:18a player that did slam like their hands on the table. But it was
- 28:22not. This is in the yetty days, so I don't know, but
- 28:30yes it was. Yes, you threw your cards, I'm sorry, or
- 28:33slammed your I don't remember. It was actually because they lost with fraud um
- 28:44repeat coming next weekend. I am still the notion that wild Wormhole is the
- 28:49worst card in KeyForge. Oh no, it is not true. Definitely not
- 28:55the worst card. I hate it. It's the worst card to me.
- 29:00It's all right, I will take wild Wormholes and you can have dipods deal
- 29:07or I want nerves? Can I have nerves? Do you ask? You
- 29:11can have narves? Perfect? All right? Move us along? All right.
- 29:15When you hand someone your phone to show them a picture, how many
- 29:21swipes is too far past the subject? One? Yeah, phone to show
- 29:27you a picture? What are you looking for? Creepful? You may not
- 29:33like what you swipe too, depends on who in passinga to right. I
- 29:37don't know, I like, go ahead, You'll hand it off to someone
- 29:41who's not very technologically literate, and then like they just keep going, Oh
- 29:47what does this? Why don't you think about it? Why do you keeps
- 29:49grolling? It? Told people look at the Yeah. I mean I actually
- 29:55like hand your phone to another person. I just hold it in front of
- 29:57their face and then I go, you see with your eyes fifteen pictures from
- 30:06vacation, and you hand it over so they can swipe. But that one
- 30:10like, oh look you saw you know, you saw whatever. You saw
- 30:12this animal and you saw this car burning on the side of the road.
- 30:17Only sheep, only ships, that's the next Arcon's corner picture. If I
- 30:23hand you my phone, you are allowed to swipe through all of the pictures.
- 30:29It's like, but what if they get thumbnail? Now that's not on
- 30:34my phone? Oh that is That is the kind of boring I am.
- 30:38You will see a whole lot of pictures from work not on his phone.
- 30:45I think almost all of the pictures of my phone would be like keyboard,
- 30:49just like ducks. Like you want to check out my deck picture. Somehow
- 30:52I'm not. I have a lot of QR codes pictures in my phone.
- 31:00Somehow I'm not surprised. Somehow I'm not surprised. So, uh, you
- 31:04walk how many swipes can we swipe in your phone? One? I told
- 31:08you be careful. You may not want or like to see what you swipe
- 31:11too, so be careful. I think if the most well, now that
- 31:17you had to get rid of that phone, you probably have the most PG
- 31:21phone in this group. Okay, so so if if you walk has the
- 31:27most PG phone, right, who has the most rated IR phone? Are
- 31:33you're stopping? Well? Okay, you want to go X, triple X
- 31:37whatever? Who's got the US Who's got the spiciest phone there? I don't
- 31:47know. I don't know Southerly well enough to throw him under the bus.
- 31:51I kind of want to just I mean, isn't Southerly young? Like,
- 31:56yeah, Southerly? How old are you? You're like, so you're twenty?
- 32:00Yeah? Yeah, yeah, I would have like knowing, I would
- 32:06have to vote for Southerly. But mind you, he's going to school for
- 32:08coding. That's fine, that's cool now, Oh that's cool now? Oh
- 32:15yeah, I thought it was born. It's still not cool. The ladies
- 32:23are no, I guess not. Well, let's let's leave it to the
- 32:31listeners. Put it. Put it on the chat. Who you think has
- 32:35the most spicy phone in uh? In the AC group? The guy could
- 32:42actually probably challenge Jr's claim, like, it's probably my phone is probably literally
- 32:46just a thousand decks, like, I don't know if there's anything else?
- 32:51Did it? You have a thousand pictures in your phone? JR. Is
- 32:54gonna have a lot of family pictures. I think, yeah, oh yeah,
- 32:59yeah, I have done. My wife takes all those things and I
- 33:06don't take pictures of them on travel really other than the ones I have to.
- 33:09I use this thing called my brain. I just remember being there,
- 33:15just remember, Yeah, what do I need pictures for? You don't remember
- 33:19last week? How do you mind? Built with people? When you're talking
- 33:22about the remembering? Was it? Oh? I don't know. Say that
- 33:28when we get back from Philly, snuggle buddy. Oh all right, moving
- 33:35far? Which house have creatures with the hardest to pronounce names? Oh that's
- 33:38easy, crazy, it's the new one. Is it Equiton or is it
- 33:45Myers? The actually wrote all the Mars ones in a way that you can
- 33:52actually say them, Like half the Equiton creatures we are like blue. Yeah,
- 33:57it's shapes above letters like you can't even phonetic your way through them.
- 34:04It's just it's like, what is what is the A with the up down
- 34:08of the you know, the the smiley face on top. I don't know,
- 34:13Like every time I see house EQUEDONDI have everybody ever watched Bert Crunch Krushire
- 34:21the Machine. Nope, now okay, So he does the whole thing about
- 34:24how he joined the Russian mob in uh in his like college years, but
- 34:30he was taking Russian and the only reason he was passing Russian was because,
- 34:35like they needed a kid for the class, and he just happened to be
- 34:37that kid. So he was just his teachers like, I'll just give you
- 34:40a C. It's like, you know how hard it is to fake being
- 34:44in a class when you have to write your when your alphabets written in hieroglyphics.
- 34:50That's how I feel every time I look at an equedont name, smiley
- 34:54face, star, hashtag. So I went back through our comment and I
- 35:00gotta be honest, there were more. I had both Mars and Aquedun up
- 35:04here. I do think it's gonna fall on ikey, ikey, But you
- 35:07do have you know your Shrew, Ambassador Steward, Sue Uzane, the old
- 35:14Tinker, you have the belligerent guard. You have a number that do not
- 35:19follow the standard process. For Akey. Mars can get a little wonky with
- 35:24mass, like John Smith. Correct is even the stupid Mars ones are written
- 35:31in a way they can make a word without interrupting the way you speak.
- 35:37The full frocks is zizzle frock flip it phizzics league like these are just okay
- 35:43to say and everyone knows what you're staying yeah from Like other ones, which
- 35:50buggies, which no one's ever gonna know. It's the buggy that does this
- 35:53thing that I agree with, Like, no one will ever know which buggy
- 35:59you're top about. You literally have to just say, it's the buggy that
- 36:02draws cards, it's the buggy the gains amber, it's the buggy that makes
- 36:07tokens, Like that's it. They are all those whatever bug Yeah, they
- 36:13all start with s itch I with the smiley over it, like like what
- 36:17do you even? I don't know, And they got their eyes with hearts.
- 36:22Yeah, that's that's actually the next that's actually the next house. I'm
- 36:25sorry, I guess spoilers. Oh the grim reminders, all the Gorman guysts
- 36:30got their eyes with hearts. That would be a great house theme. But
- 36:35anyways, what is the worst card to draw in your opening hand after a
- 36:39Mulligan anything? It's uh gammers, No, it's got to be the Curse
- 36:50Relic because I don't know. I still think stuff like from back in the
- 36:55day, because I played Code Away more than anything else. Like, nothing
- 37:00pissed me off more than drawing TMTP after a Mulligan like that. That was
- 37:05an experience I will never forget because it just mean every time it happened.
- 37:10Yeah, like whenever you get your only scaling amber control in the deck.
- 37:14Yeah, that hurts. So I like that you guys are listing specific cards.
- 37:17I just went more general, your late game card that you need in
- 37:21this specific matchup because it always happens every time. Yeah, like WHOA today
- 37:25Mulligan into the only written right, It's like, come on, obviously I
- 37:30need this card. I'm playing Whoa. This is probably the only A card
- 37:34on my deck. But so uh it's frustrating, like Relic, Like I
- 37:42have a Chris Relic deck. I have no way to discard it out of
- 37:45my hand. I haven't. Just don't play that, just don't play it.
- 37:51I mean, yeah, you know what, Chris Relk is gonna be
- 37:54great for creating alliance pods. Yeah, yeah, about to say creating Alliance
- 38:00per Bit Alliance, Yeah, because like there are already decks I think that
- 38:05if someone said there's decks with two cursed relics, that means there's just twelve
- 38:07random amber in this deck themware like there's Yeah, it's gonna create some really
- 38:12stupid pods, that's what that will do. Oh no, though, because
- 38:15I know of an mmpod that I have where there's like ten extra ember in
- 38:20it, but it's all gets evenly distributed throughout the deck, so doesn't load
- 38:22up with crazy pads. I mean, that can happen, but it can
- 38:27also be more likely to happen. I think it's gonna be a bit rar
- 38:31well because it's a little bit better than the old ones in MM, because
- 38:35curse relic can't get enhanced, right, So like if there are two curse
- 38:40relics in the deck, now you're talking about thirty four cards. There's already
- 38:45other enhancers in most pods anyway, Like you're you're talking about a number of
- 38:50amber, like, well just pips in general that are gonna go swarm crazy
- 38:53over thirty four distribution versus thirty six. All right, so quick search on.
- 39:00Okay, here there are six stacks already imported that have two cursed relics,
- 39:05even the second one in here. Now it's a Storian pod, so
- 39:07I'm not super excited. But you got one, two, three, four,
- 39:10five, six, seven extra printed amber that's coming in on top.
- 39:15Correct. Yeah, and that's where it it's a little bit off this one.
- 39:20Here's got four, you have two, four, get six in this
- 39:25unfathomable That unfathomable I would definitely take. So it's when you have multiples and
- 39:32you don't have to go ahead and bring in the actual cursed relic your form.
- 39:39Yeah yeah, uh double double b funnel initiation plunder sunk cost zero basin
- 39:49l posts and bubbles with two. Oh yeah, that's a really good pot.
- 39:54Yeah all right, come on, next question, it's curse rowlick.
- 40:00We all agree. Now, Now I still say whatever you're playing on TCO,
- 40:04because chances are you're getting whatever you mulligan right back with what is your
- 40:12what is? What is your worst deck? Does anybody know what their worst
- 40:17deck is? I don't know. Yes, ye zmite because he liked he
- 40:22liked reversal. Well, so I have my reversal deck I have. I
- 40:28don't consider my best reversal deck my worst deck. Correct, And that's what
- 40:31I put by stats. My reversal deck actually gets play, whereas if you
- 40:37look at second worst or what's there, it's it never see his play because
- 40:42it's got too many creatures. So so first deck determined by what I think
- 40:49that worst deck. Okay, so what when I went for and I'll throw
- 40:53this, Let's be honest, you're not gonna link it. So this deck
- 40:57is Bronson you Dragon Pack, the Singularity, And why does this jump out
- 41:01at me? Double hit and Run, Kimer, Eclipse, mug double Past,
- 41:07blow trust no One. Oh wait, look at the creatures double Bad,
- 41:12Penny Breaker, Hill Hugger, Mugger Simon, And then it's got the
- 41:19good, wholesome Brobnar World's Collie triple Volcano. I mean this dak just yeah,
- 41:30it's just real bad. I was gonna saying my worst ack is my
- 41:31highest saastact that I can't sell. Yeah, there you go, right,
- 41:37because it's like it promises to be good but it's not, and then nobody
- 41:42will give me money for it either, So it's totally trash. Yeah,
- 41:49lots of lots when I name my worst act, because I just throw them
- 41:53all in the fetter bin, so I have a whole bin here. All
- 42:00they are all equally bad to me because like they're either reversal, they have
- 42:04a fun jinkie thing, or they're competitive. Everything else to me is equally
- 42:07as bad as everything else. Alrighty, yeah, it's hard to get a
- 42:15real reversal deck and they're just so painful. I know what my worst deck
- 42:21is, the one I'm currently losing with in seal Ah. There you go.
- 42:28All right, this isn't the question I want answered the most. How
- 42:30many people need to be a top level Patreon to get ze to try and
- 42:36win with a Vault tour with a strange shell deck? Does this mean like
- 42:40register one ARCon event and play it, Because if it's that, it still
- 42:46would have to be a lot like what what what's the cause of our top
- 42:50Patreon cookie there? Ten or twenty? But it might I'm gonna be top
- 43:00level patreons for me to register park to play with a strange shell deck four
- 43:06thousand dollar Patreon. We'll take that, kid. It doesn't say, it
- 43:08doesn't say you have to, It doesn't say it has to be our con.
- 43:14It just says strange shell deck. So you could technically build alliance deck
- 43:19what we're playing. Alliance deck registered in the event, maybe twice as much
- 43:24to play a lions with a strange shell. I put one hundred thousand at
- 43:30the one dollar tier, and I think we can do it one hundred thousand
- 43:34at the one dollar tier. You think we're gonna get one hundred thousand patreons?
- 43:37No, no, but I don't think he's playing strange shell deck.
- 43:40That's fine. Actually, I'll just say one hundred. If we ever have
- 43:45one hundred ten dollars to your patreons, I would actively search for the best
- 43:50strange shell deck I could find or borrow from someone or make a clone of
- 43:55um, and I would register prove it hundred take z out of one of
- 44:02the vts. There you go, guys, just just for a cool thousand
- 44:07dollars UM. All right, what's your favorite? What is your favorite in
- 44:14Woe? I'm not really sure where this one had. Where this one's gone.
- 44:17I think it's for I think it was set up for a flavor text,
- 44:21because if you look underneath, what's your favorite and woe favorite ever with
- 44:24the funniest flavor text? Uh, these cards have flavored text. I was
- 44:30gonna say these cards have flavor text. Oh crap, I don't know.
- 44:36I shall look ahead because I definitely have enjoyed some of the flavor texts.
- 44:42Visit the vault. Let me I'll share. I actually did research ahead of
- 44:47time. Way to go, guys, just bringing the cast up again.
- 44:51Um My, mine is going to be Dragnet. Just the clams, ma'am.
- 45:00I already know my favorite. I saw that one I read all yeah,
- 45:04my favorite is troll. It's always been troll. Does anyone know it?
- 45:10No? No, I don't remember. Don't feed it, It'll go
- 45:14away. It's like the best advice that anyone that talks to the community could
- 45:20ever read. It's that is pretty good. Yep. The New World cards
- 45:25I like Rant and Ride. Your flavor text is there now nobody gets it?
- 45:31That's great. That's fun. The brick Nasty is pretty good. The
- 45:37uh Loudness eight out of ten, Destruction nine out of ten. I like
- 45:42this band Thorne broad Armed music critic, which now needs to be a card
- 45:46music critic. They need to there's another card they need to make. Well
- 45:52before they make that card. All right, let's why you know what I
- 45:57liked? Uh? Um, what's the uh? Shoot the um? Uh?
- 46:05I'm doing great, guys, all right, never mind keeping standing arm
- 46:10the plebs. This can't possibly backfire. Those are my plans. Hey,
- 46:19what's this? All right? Have I got it? I got it?
- 46:22Master the theory. In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice.
- 46:28I like that. All right, we're reading one of the next one.
- 46:32Are we're gonna read the flavor? Yep. I actually like for fate
- 46:37for other sets, I like telega, don't try to change the crucible to
- 46:42suit your needs, Let it change you who that was there. And then
- 46:47for just kind of funniest flavor, I still love Nature's call with the actual
- 46:53image. And then what the flavor text is, gotta go, gotta go,
- 46:57gotta go. So I thought that card still rings after coda many many
- 47:02years later. Maybe one day it'll come back one day, all right.
- 47:09Have the AC crew ever come to physical altercation over the wanton destruction of deck
- 47:17via the shredder format we're talking about, y'all? I think it only happened
- 47:22once. He was threatened to punch me, but he didn't. Thought.
- 47:29I thought you guys did come. I thought you guys had an altercation.
- 47:31It was it was, it was not if it's a vis. So,
- 47:37so here's the thing. He went ahead and shredded wo decks over at KFC.
- 47:42But he didn't do it in front of me. He is doing it
- 47:44all slyly in the background, and then he's like, hey, did you
- 47:47see that that Cheep's over there going ahead and shredding wo decks? Because that's
- 47:52just a kick in people's face, especially now that people in other countries still
- 47:59can't get their woe. I think that they should definitely set up a Patreon
- 48:04where they just pay for me to get out of jail for punching him in
- 48:07the face again that you'd like to save a deck for him, Doctor Sheep's
- 48:10shredder. You can now buy them from him? Oh yeah you can.
- 48:22Yeah, it just happened the ones. It wasn't really an alter altercation.
- 48:24But you can see those pictures over on our instagram if you so desire.
- 48:29They are there. We have an instagram, yeah we do. I mean,
- 48:32not much gets put on it because I don't really take pictures, so
- 48:37and Sheep just remembers things. So I mean, to be fair, everyone
- 48:44like you know that one time where that one thing happened. Sheep does typically
- 48:46remember what it was, so to be fair, he does just remember things,
- 48:51So I mean, herds out Sheep's Bebry is admissible in court, so
- 48:55you know he's good. All right? What is your most favorite combo in
- 49:00key Forge? Can I go with mine? First? Sure? Is that?
- 49:06Is that? Okay? Everybody? All right? It's Hard of the
- 49:08Forest than the Hate. Is that a key Forge combo or not? No?
- 49:15Okay? Just look in your opponents? Do you play it? That's
- 49:19right? Yeah, that's the combo is passing them the deck list and start
- 49:30just the way until I come up with my five Heart of the Forest deck.
- 49:34It's gonna hel you'll be an alliance. I will never see it.
- 49:37That's fine. Um mine is old like it's because it's probably it is the
- 49:43first deck I bought. It's it's battle Fleet key Abduction, the very first
- 49:47deck that I actually like went out searched for found, like you know,
- 49:52actually negotiated it, spent more than fifty bucks on have three battle Fleets and
- 49:58key Abduction. And that's actually how I met Nova. I won an event
- 50:01playing that deck and we started talking about after that, which was really weird
- 50:06because deer An event people kept like talking about it, and then they were
- 50:08like watching each of my games and then like pinging me about it the next
- 50:15week. So that's my favorite combo because I think it's is what kind of
- 50:19got me further into the the meta side of the game outside of just like
- 50:22store level play. Sheep, what's your favorite combo? Mine was Nipple con
- 50:30curb one concede. Yeah that was good. Is that a combo? Uh?
- 50:38Absolutely? Okay, fair enough, JR. Tell us about your um,
- 50:46your your your your collector worm. I don't play. I don't play
- 50:52combos. No. The forever combo that will sit with me is I'm playing
- 51:00a nice deck for KFPL key Forge Premier League, and there's this Logos creature
- 51:09that has a tendency to be able to cycle. I don't know, I
- 51:15don't remember what what is that Logos creature that if you have another creature out
- 51:20that if it dies, I don't know. It's a Tomaton of some sort.
- 51:23Yeah, it just I can't remember. There was some other part that
- 51:27happened, a discard that was an upgrade that went on it, but I
- 51:31don't remember what it was, so we didn't know either. You have to
- 51:37tell our listeners what you're talking about. Yeah, no, I'm good now
- 51:40I want to know. So this was when Ja was playing one of Z's
- 51:47decks four KFPL and kind of the main feature for dealing with things is it
- 51:55had a toomaton and Solkeeper, So you put the Soalkeeper around the automaton and
- 52:00then it dies and then it kills the most powerful enemy creature. But the
- 52:05Soulekeeper never goes away, right because the atomaton never goes away. And they
- 52:07also had up sitting forged in a bunch of other gud. There's a ton
- 52:10of ways to kill it yourself. Just every turn. Deck also have shark
- 52:15No, no, that's all, that's not that one. Yeah, but
- 52:19it's it's that kind of thing. And then there was a turn and yet
- 52:22Ewalk exoomed something else pointless and then dropped the soul Keeper on it. I
- 52:29was watching the game and I was just dumbfounded. Oh oh it's actually it
- 52:32was it? So yeah, there was there was some comments that were said,
- 52:40I'm sure we were very friendly and accepting of your mistake. I still
- 52:46remember this favorite combo, Southerly. That's why we're always learning new things about
- 52:53keyboards. Southerly, what's your favorite combo? This is just a one one.
- 53:00It's it's it's not that great. But when you have like an Archimedes.
- 53:05Well there's this one specific deck, right, and it has a Martian
- 53:08generosity so it can set up whatever you want and as a memory chip so
- 53:12you can put all your logos cards away and you can get Archimedes bouncing death,
- 53:17Cork Helper bat into Brenda Fanatic. And there's multiples of a bunch of
- 53:22cards, so you can pull it off three four turns in a row.
- 53:25It gets a bit at present. Very nice. Nice Dravis Carter, we
- 53:30get your favorite combo yet? Yeah, So I I don't know. I've
- 53:36got so many different ones that I've enjoyed and searched for. I think when
- 53:39I first first started playing, the one that I was like, oh,
- 53:45I'm gonna try to do that, it was staying showeda and then some sort
- 53:52of bounce, so that was like super early. The other thing that comes
- 53:58to mind is the one I don't have. I don't have Animator redacted with
- 54:04a bunch of capture pips. I've one day I would love to just do
- 54:07that, even if the rest of the deck sucks. Just like, get
- 54:10a deck that can do that and be happy with that. All Right.
- 54:17One searched for a back end coda and I did a lot of searching.
- 54:22The only one person ever had it, and I'm pretty sure he sold it
- 54:27was um oh, I just totally drew a blank on it. Oh my
- 54:32goodness. See what's your favorite card and KeyForge? Control the Week, favorite
- 54:39cardage, Control the Control the Week. It used to be control the Week.
- 54:44But I'm actually kind of like tiptoing my my happy self towards the Fuddle
- 54:51because like I didn't like learn this still again, we've been working on Sassin
- 54:55art guys, So like Control the Week has pitfall, right, Like you
- 55:00have to know their face shift, you have to do the card counts and
- 55:02all this other crap right when you have to be fuddles. You just named
- 55:07two different houses. This just complete playlock. Whereas to control the weeks in
- 55:10hand, say you have four or five of them in deckt like you kind
- 55:13of have to like wait on them or whatever. You have to make those
- 55:15decisions. And another thing about like when you're controlling week into someone that has
- 55:22like house cheating, whether it's a zoom or valve or face shift, like
- 55:27you kind of have to stay away from those houses because they have access to
- 55:30more than just that house. But the Fuddle literally says the word cannot play
- 55:35other than that house, So house cheating does not work. It is a
- 55:38playlock except for one house. So I actually might like the fuddle more than
- 55:45Control the Week. But yes, but prior to very recently, Control the
- 55:49Week was by far my favorite card. Yeah, that was a comboy I
- 55:51always searched for. It was Control of the Week, screaming Cave. I
- 55:54just thought it was a combo that didn't get much much attention. I thought
- 55:58it should get more. And then because it's luck sack in the end,
- 56:01is I understand? That's why I need that luck and I like rolling the
- 56:09dice. I'm a perpetual gambler. Um. The other one was Genka.
- 56:15I've given up my Genka dreams because she gave me a Genka deck and then
- 56:17sent it to Rick. So my, my, my whole dreams of ever
- 56:22owning a Genka deck just went really out the window. Oh I stopped caring
- 56:28at that point. Doesn't sheep have two? Okay, okay, well we'll
- 56:35go all right, what's the fares? I still have cheap sealed AOA,
- 56:38I tell myself, Oh, I've got a Jenka deck I just haven't opened
- 56:43yet. M I have a lot of cheap sealed. If I've ever even
- 56:47opened Marking Dinner, Rossy, I've opened one, Yeah, I've I've opened
- 56:52one. I've opened one. All right, what's the farthest you'd travel for
- 57:00a vault? Are you? Liked? So we knows? He is Germany?
- 57:06Yeah? Men does Germany? To play key Forward? I don't know
- 57:09if I would do that again? Um, I feel like the answers no.
- 57:14But again, what was our term fanaticism? Yep, Yeah, it's
- 57:22a dumb fanaticism I think was it was? It was it dumb fanaticism,
- 57:27irrational, irrational? There we go. Yeah, I I was about three
- 57:36and a half seconds away from booking a trip to the Netherlands to play in
- 57:43the Vault tour there. Well it didn't happen. Oh is this is this
- 57:50pre COVID This is like right right. It was like February twenty twenty,
- 57:53and I was like, you know, like not click book and like let
- 57:57me just see how this goes. And I guess a good thing I did.
- 58:01Wait ye, So, um, I was had this whole master plan
- 58:07to like combine it with a family vacation. It was gonna be like the
- 58:10whole thing, JR. How far are you going for some for some key
- 58:15Forge Dallas Damn. Okay, fair enough, solut? How far are you
- 58:23going for key Forge our drive? Fair enough? All right? Are are
- 58:30you like x ray? Will you not fly? Oh? I don't mind
- 58:32flying him just I'm a college student. Oh well, I suppose if we
- 58:37get those x ray just won't fly. So he will fly now surprised giving
- 58:51him like a muscle relaxer, so he sleeps now. He's just working two
- 58:55jobs now and can't just screw up in the dummies. Xanex are legal by
- 59:04you. I was like, uh, I didn't get that memo. But
- 59:10weird story, weird flex bro. All right, um, do you think
- 59:15gig creating a digital platform would be good for KeyForge as a whole? We
- 59:20have a digital platformed, thank you for beating me to the it's just not
- 59:28going to f and happen. Stop asking us the squestion. But like,
- 59:30like a digital platform exists, Like what more do you want? Well,
- 59:35I mean in their last ownership article they even kind of said like this is
- 59:40the first step. Yeah with digital stuff, Dude, If it's taking this
- 59:47long to get product over to Europe or around the world, we're not looking
- 59:53at anything anything totally different people and team that would happen. Like most people
- 1:00:00have absolutely nothing to do with getting physical product out. I think this would
- 1:00:07actually probably be an amazing digital game. Well, but the thing is like,
- 1:00:12okay, so what do you do to top what TCO is doing right
- 1:00:15now? What you add to making a real product, Like if it looks
- 1:00:17as close to her Stone, we might have more players than her Stone.
- 1:00:23It is a better game. But like there's lots of quality of life features
- 1:00:30the TCO doesn't have. They're not gonna have them. They really just don't
- 1:00:32give a shit about that, real, could you? I you know,
- 1:00:37like why can't I press a key and play like whatever cards in the first
- 1:00:42slot, second slot? Like why do you have to use the mouse at
- 1:00:45all? Like you on hot what You're so amazing you don't even want to
- 1:00:50use a mouse? You know how much vaster or what I'm talking about would
- 1:00:53be though, Like it's I don't know, the gooey for a TCO is
- 1:00:58real? Real slow, I mean slow walk still be slow, but otherwise
- 1:01:04I'm really still back over here on the previous states slow And I think I'm
- 1:01:10in our ac live chat with JML that we need to have an Ewok for
- 1:01:15Punching Sheep twenty twenty three campaign. So yeah, we need to be a
- 1:01:19different Patreon goal. Like if we get like two thousand a month now for
- 1:01:23a video, we need forty seven forty seven. So we're already there.
- 1:01:30I feel a punch coming out. Forty seven ten dollars patrons. Oh,
- 1:01:36we've got like forty I don't know. We don't have forty seven ten dollars.
- 1:01:39Patrons have forty seven pats Uh you might. Now we're at thirty something
- 1:01:46right now. I think, Oh, we're at fifty eight. Yeah,
- 1:01:51a letter than seven. Yeah. All I'm saying and is I'm swinging back.
- 1:01:57Oh well, and if there's one thing I know is it's got a
- 1:02:00more broken down body than me. So I'm winning this fight, oh for
- 1:02:05sure. Right now. The amount of battered in bruising that I have right
- 1:02:09now is absolutely ridiculous. So yeah, So if you'd like to see Ewok
- 1:02:14versus Doctor Sheep on pay per view, this is an old man fight.
- 1:02:20We might be able to make that half of the gains to the side.
- 1:02:22We might be able to make that happen. All right. With chains gone
- 1:02:25is the future of key forge more pay to win. I don't know what
- 1:02:30chains has to do with that statement. I don't know why people think chains
- 1:02:34made an impact. Like we had a whole segment at least I had a
- 1:02:37whole segment on here where I talked about how chains where I totally failed experiment,
- 1:02:45and how they really impacted the game. Right. There's a few small
- 1:02:49pockets where it was sami meaningful and some people chased getting all those chains to
- 1:02:54power level whatever. But for the most part, change just meant you never
- 1:03:00play the same deck twice. Oh see, you you read it that way.
- 1:03:02I read it more as adaptive going away. And so the idea that
- 1:03:06anyone can bring a deck didn't go away because adaptive was never a thing.
- 1:03:12Well, but adaptive was some crap format that they created and people did play,
- 1:03:19right, Um, and that's everybody can like adaptive and everybody can go
- 1:03:27like Alliance and go play that. Well now not not Alliance, But it
- 1:03:30doesn't mean that they're right. Um. Yeah. People get to enjoy the
- 1:03:35game in their way. That's fine. I mean I think some of the
- 1:03:38I think some of the big lies that I was told when key Forge was
- 1:03:42first being introduced and talked about is one deck like but this is where with
- 1:03:51the chains, some people still believe that I do believe that there are certain
- 1:03:54decks that really excel with adaptive and others that don't. And frankly, even
- 1:04:01if we look back at UM, what was it the key forge right when
- 1:04:08the pandemic started our shadow Worlds, the deck that actually ended up winning for
- 1:04:13adaptive was Martian Generosity because it basically had talked about it that you don't need
- 1:04:19to go ahead and have your chain bidding when there's an advantage for someone who
- 1:04:25knows the deck. But they were willing to go ahead and push UM increase
- 1:04:30in chains because it had very little impact with Martian Generosity and the ability to
- 1:04:33go ahead and get to your card. Now, whether that's true or not,
- 1:04:38that is a whole another component to be debated. But that philosophy when
- 1:04:41you were looking at it, people are trying to test, Oh, what
- 1:04:44can my deck hold it? Can it get to a chains? Can it
- 1:04:45get to eleven? They're like, I don't care, I'll take twenty four
- 1:04:48because I'm gonna I'm gonna go ahead and go with efficiency here, which is
- 1:04:51the way off. The question of the question is, yeah, it will
- 1:04:57it make the future more paid to win, And my answer this is the
- 1:05:00future of pick key for it will be no more pay to win than it
- 1:05:03was before. You're like accept that because it has always been. Just start
- 1:05:12saving your pennies because you're gonna need thirty six hundred dollars for a to your
- 1:05:16a deck, No, sheep, fantastic. If you knew you could open
- 1:05:23decks, it would be worth three thousand dollars. So do you think all
- 1:05:27right? So, yeah, sheep wins filling. Do you think prices get
- 1:05:33jacked up? I think prices already have like gone up since that's say happened.
- 1:05:39Yeah, I think that dammates try to purchase a deck and then been
- 1:05:43quoted numbers that were actually higher for a deck that we know was offered at
- 1:05:46a different rate before the cell. That's already happened. You're welcome, sheep.
- 1:05:55How do you feel about me bringing my random low deck? I was
- 1:05:59complet I need to ze about you're a random berserker deck. So again,
- 1:06:08I think that this is the statement of is key forge pay to win?
- 1:06:12Yes and no. I think we got to keep pushing what is being produced.
- 1:06:17I think the common slots are extremely important, but I think that woe
- 1:06:21was very viable, and I think there are phenomenal decks and frankly, Key
- 1:06:26Forge is still one of those games where it's a paper rock scissors. We've
- 1:06:29talked about this multiple times, but there is no one individual all the time.
- 1:06:34No stop stop the bus, No you're you're you're going too far.
- 1:06:40Yeah, okay, because it's not that different. There are different levels of
- 1:06:44this paper rock scissors game. Okay, you bring a knife to a gunfight,
- 1:06:47the gun's gonna win, right like, So we can't just say it's
- 1:06:51all rock paper scissors because there's the fist. There's just on Tuesday, my
- 1:06:59gun jammed and I. But the chances of you seeing that deck in a
- 1:07:05Vault Tour setting unless it is also top tier, we don't know. I
- 1:07:10don't know the LEA score, but unlet the chances of you seeing that deck
- 1:07:14in a top tier setting are what not great people show up with. Now,
- 1:07:23So what you're saying, yeah, so what what you're going ahead and
- 1:07:28saying is that we should just be looking at SaaS scores and Z scores in
- 1:07:31order to determine what decks we're going to be bringing and just but that's that's
- 1:07:38what we're going to decide in them. That is correct. Well again,
- 1:07:42play play your deck. Play your deck. Let me know your question.
- 1:07:45Are you going to bring that deck to a vault tour to the vault tour?
- 1:07:48No, I have a very very different because I have a different deck
- 1:07:51that I want to take. Okay, all right, let's move forward.
- 1:07:56What should the next plus she be after? Well, I guess after or
- 1:08:00the only a second plushy after fuzzy grun doctor she Yeah, I still I'm
- 1:08:10still thinking. I will actually be sad if Lord doesn't ever make it.
- 1:08:15I will not be sad if I never have to see another blurb ever again.
- 1:08:20All right, guys, if they have a blurb plushy at the Philly
- 1:08:24Vault, like, we're all buying it, right, these people can't even
- 1:08:29death like, but they just order that right like. That is true.
- 1:08:34They would not know that the blurb plushy printer hasn't come in yet from China.
- 1:08:42They've got to sew them together. So after after the ten dollars an
- 1:08:46hour packing crew is done with that, then they go over to the other
- 1:08:50corner and they sell blurbs as bloored as three eyes well one like, but
- 1:09:00knew it was a Bullarb so they did good. Yeah, two wigs,
- 1:09:03which is strangely wrong. I still want the little uh By patch guy for
- 1:09:10Fathom Reaver. It doesn't happen. Yeah, but I like one on the
- 1:09:15Yeah, I like him. I don't care about plushies. Yeah, I
- 1:09:20also don't. I mean, even if they made one, I probably wouldn't
- 1:09:24buy one. So I actually knew someone that did this. Next question,
- 1:09:29lookie, this is an interesting one. What's that one? Do you think
- 1:09:30elusive cards should be pulled back in the battle line similar to taunt cards by
- 1:09:36but opposite when their attacked for the first time? Bring them forward in a
- 1:09:42line with regular cards. I know elusive cards get missed a lot with a
- 1:09:45new with new players, and this might help. I don't think they're gonna
- 1:09:50change this, but I actually do like this. I did know a player
- 1:09:54that did this at the very beginning, um, and it did make sense,
- 1:09:58like they didn't move them back up after they lose it was broken,
- 1:10:00but they did have them like slightly down like taunt slightly up. At one
- 1:10:04point in the time, I remember somebody was handing out little tokens. Now
- 1:10:09Magic does this a lot with like creature type. I don't want to say
- 1:10:12creature types, but like keyword types that are of note and important, where
- 1:10:15they'll they'll put a piece of paper on it, you know, I'll fly,
- 1:10:18Well, this is flying, you know now it's they put the little
- 1:10:21like little paper on it. And at one point in time, somebody I
- 1:10:25don't know who is making them, but had little acrylic like Elusive and what's
- 1:10:30the other? There was Elusive and something else maybe it was Taunt. There
- 1:10:34was a player at my store that has a token for almost everything, and
- 1:10:36like I have I still have them somewhere. I don't know. I got
- 1:10:41one when we were an indie, but like I kind of liked that idea
- 1:10:44because like you could put the Elusive on and then once it's broken, take
- 1:10:46it back. But then then it begs the question are you going to remember
- 1:10:49to put it back? And then they go and attack it, like,
- 1:10:55well I thought it lost Elusive because they didn't have the token, and that's
- 1:10:58no good, right, I'm I think sorry, and in live play,
- 1:11:03and I know this is against everything, but just be realistic and forgiving.
- 1:11:10Like if they say I want to attack and you go, oh, it's
- 1:11:12Elusive, and they go, oh, I don't want to attack that then
- 1:11:15okay, Like I mean, maybe you don't let them change houses because their
- 1:11:19whole plan was to fight it down and they can't, well, then they
- 1:11:23maybe lose out. But like I mean, issue is like you're if you,
- 1:11:32like, as a judge, I've seen any game someone do what you're
- 1:11:38saying, like they let them take it back, and then later in the
- 1:11:41same game almost the exact same thing happened and the other person didn't let them
- 1:11:46take it back. Oh yeah, like that's going to happen, and you
- 1:11:50have to decide if you want to be that kind of person. Like I've
- 1:11:55always said. You know, it's like I don't joke when I say cheating
- 1:11:59is trying or like if you need to cheat to win, you need this
- 1:12:01win more than me. Like, if that's how you have to get your
- 1:12:04wins, like, then you need them more than I do, right,
- 1:12:09so go ahead and take them because like this clearly means more to you in
- 1:12:13your life than it does to me. That's that's where my mentality sits on
- 1:12:19that if you need to play like that to win games that I don't know
- 1:12:26if I really want to play with you, well, I mean at a
- 1:12:30vultur, you really don't have a choice well back in the day. That's
- 1:12:34one of the things that I actually did appreciate about the significantly and change in
- 1:12:39the floor rules at one point, where like we were all forced to play
- 1:12:42that way. It takes the decision making out of the players. So there's
- 1:12:46no like, oh, I'm an a hole for this, where I'm not
- 1:12:48an a hele for this. These are just the rules. The judge just
- 1:12:51said it before we started the event, um, But we don't know how
- 1:12:58that's going to be in the future. We have not there was not a
- 1:13:00talk like that before we started a KFCUM. I have not seen any floor
- 1:13:04rules other than the tournament guidelines, So who knows how it's going to be.
- 1:13:10If it goes back to the way it was before the floor rules came
- 1:13:13out, you're gonna have the snare happened that I just explained, And it's
- 1:13:17a real bad like feel bad as loss. If you gave that benefit to
- 1:13:21someone and then they immediately that game don't give it to you and you lose
- 1:13:25because of it. It happens. Unt a good idea. I don't think
- 1:13:32it's a bad idea. What the car bringing them back in the battle line
- 1:13:38to signify elusive. Oh, I think it's actually a good idea because,
- 1:13:42like I said, there was a player early on that did this. I
- 1:13:44thought it was really smart. I never did it because like at the time,
- 1:13:46I was like pretty soon I actually went to vaults and like I had
- 1:13:50the rule thing explained. How many people do you guys play against that don't
- 1:13:55even do the slide the talk forward thing? Like I see it all the
- 1:13:59time. Every time I would tell them, yeah, I make them do
- 1:14:03it. Yeah, Like this needs to be raised. I mean, I
- 1:14:09think having two different indicators based on the depth of the card can like at
- 1:14:13a glance, get confusing when there's no frame of reference, so I could
- 1:14:15be like, oh, are all these guys haunting or those guys there?
- 1:14:18It can get weird. Elusive there's no next to elusive. It would be
- 1:14:28easy to tell. But it's why you can't track states of armor and states
- 1:14:32of and you can't track state of elusive because like you have to reset it
- 1:14:39and if you forget, it's significantly problematic to game state later on. So
- 1:14:45like adding more tracking is not good, right, just sliding back and it
- 1:14:50never changes from that position. Like there's an elusive line that that is something,
- 1:14:55but identification of where that zone is is stuff. But all the stuff
- 1:14:59does. It's very well and digital, Like they could definitely put a gray
- 1:15:03halo around elusive things at a sound effect. You could actually have like the
- 1:15:10person step forward if they're taunting. Right. So I remember back in the
- 1:15:15beginning of the game, I was wondering why they had you put taunt forward
- 1:15:20instead of pulling the protected creatures back. That always made more sense to me.
- 1:15:28That's the same thing. Well, I mean it's like whenever you can't
- 1:15:33attack is yeah, m hmm, that is actually what I did at the
- 1:15:39beginning, Like that's how I played him first. That I kind of put
- 1:15:44my boards together. Is like the stuff forward you can fight in the stuff
- 1:15:46back you can't, which yes, isn't correct in the rules, but is
- 1:15:49clear game state. M who are you kidding? You just discard all your
- 1:15:54creatures now we know how you play. I mean I have done that quite
- 1:15:59a lot more. Yep, all right, this is a question. I
- 1:16:03um, this is a question that I actually wanted to do almost a full
- 1:16:09episode on. Yeah, we were going to do this at some other time,
- 1:16:11not like that one. The next one actually too. I wanted to
- 1:16:14do a full question on um do you think changes in the Master Vault would
- 1:16:20result in many only Friends subscription models? Oh, the I want to rint
- 1:16:26your decks? Yeah, I mean we were joking about that, right we
- 1:16:30were. But I mean the problem is it we were joking could be a
- 1:16:38real thing. I think it will end up being a real thing. I
- 1:16:42think I am not going to do this, but I do think we will
- 1:16:45see this happen as soon as cloning is available, you don't and as soon
- 1:16:50as clothing it actually a newdest event at Philly. I don't know if you
- 1:16:57know, but whip around in your Superman underwear. M yeah, this is
- 1:17:03a well, I'm Batman. Sucks to be Uh. This is a thing
- 1:17:11that I actually when I saw the question, I was like, it's I
- 1:17:14think this is the reason like the first deck will be restricted or banned or
- 1:17:18something not, because there are like great decks in the world. I think
- 1:17:24this is ultimately going to lead to them having to eliminate certain decks from the
- 1:17:30pool at a sooner clip than they would have naturally, because you'll just start
- 1:17:35to see the same x amount of decks every event everywhere in the world,
- 1:17:42assuming there's you know, events outside of this country because I imagine, you
- 1:17:46know, especially with you know, oh I can't go to this event or
- 1:17:51whatever, but just you, I mean you're going to see a lot for
- 1:17:55people who are not able to make events or whatever the case may be.
- 1:18:00But like like next weekend, just like like if I live in California,
- 1:18:05like making it's a Philly is a beast. Like the actual flight there,
- 1:18:10the time changes. You're pretty much forced to stay till Monday to fly back
- 1:18:15at a time that's not you know, stupid or whatever, um well or
- 1:18:20some storts the other way. You basically you're forced to fly out Thursday or
- 1:18:23something. So like less people from the West Coast will be at Philly than
- 1:18:29you know, any other region, and to some extent the Mountain time too.
- 1:18:33But like all of there are several people that play this game out a
- 1:18:36lot that live there, and they could easily rent out the deck to people
- 1:18:41that live in the East Coast like this, and that's just talking about literally
- 1:18:45inside the same country. I don't know if it's going to be a renting
- 1:18:49problem as much as it has always been in this game, where like I
- 1:18:54can't go, but I know somebody who's going, and it's like I'd rather
- 1:18:57see you have a chance with my good deck then you have to go and
- 1:19:00play you're not good deck. So well, especially if people take it for
- 1:19:06free, Like I think you'll just see a lot of people being like,
- 1:19:10oh, now that there's like no risk to me letting you use my deck
- 1:19:14in an event, go ahead, you can't get lost and destroy their use
- 1:19:16in the clone. Yeah, So like the fact that it becomes very low
- 1:19:21risk to do it, I don't, I don't. I mean, I'm
- 1:19:24sure there'll be some renting kind of stuff going on, but there'll be a
- 1:19:28lot of just because we have such a strong online community here through discords,
- 1:19:33there will be a lot of just like yeah, go ahead and play my
- 1:19:36deck. And those two factors combined are going to create some other stuff.
- 1:19:41So yeah, I think this is definitely gonna happen. My other question is,
- 1:19:45once clones are available to be out there in the world, does this
- 1:19:54affect the secondary market to how how does it? How does it impact the
- 1:19:59secondary It doesn't affect it a lot or a little. I think it's going
- 1:20:02to have to impact it because like it's going to increase the value of really
- 1:20:08good decks. Does it if everybody has one well hold on to carry that
- 1:20:13through though, Like let's say you have fraud and you then have cloned it
- 1:20:18out to three people for whatever reason they have it. They're friends with you
- 1:20:23on there Isn't it then hard harder for you to sell that deck? Well,
- 1:20:29no, because as soon as I, as soon as it's ownership changes,
- 1:20:31they lose friendship and they can no longer use it. What you say,
- 1:20:39because that's very much what they say. That's very clear because if you're
- 1:20:42not friends with the owner of their deck, you can know that's what will
- 1:20:45happen. But in your scenario you're talking about your just friends are using it.
- 1:20:48If I'm one of these people that's subplotting my deck, though, like
- 1:20:51that starts to get really really complicated. Investment in instrument that's got a dividend
- 1:20:58on it, huh no, yeah, exactly like a true true top end
- 1:21:05DAK if DAK renting is a real thing, makes them work more. What's
- 1:21:11your number on fraud? Seven? Just seven? Okay, wait what I
- 1:21:20think? What kind of number I was giving you? K you? So
- 1:21:24that's like how you identify a security on the exchanges? Whatever? Never mind,
- 1:21:30Oh, p p F seven Joss was familiar with writing off your deck
- 1:21:36bridge set on an LLC. There you go. Yeah, right, Like,
- 1:21:42if you're renting your dack, you could seriously probably set up an LLC
- 1:21:46for it. Yeah, you probably should when you get sued by the people
- 1:21:51who are like you friended me and I've been paying all this money. Right,
- 1:21:55So yeah, because he was not wrong when he was talking about it.
- 1:21:59Yeah, like that that creates a lot of issues that never existed before.
- 1:22:03But we'll see what happens, because it's going to happen. There is
- 1:22:06certainly renting power nine for magic tournaments. It's got to exist. M Who
- 1:22:15does it? Yeah, I don't. I don't know about that. Maybe
- 1:22:20a certainly exists. Well, you gotta remember the Power nine is not a
- 1:22:27very like played thing. You're talking about legacy, We hold yours, Calm
- 1:22:32down, Legacy is not a very played format. All right, we're doing
- 1:22:38this one last question and then we'll probably go through more at another time.
- 1:22:44What can gig and or the players do to get new players to join the
- 1:22:48community. According to Sheep, nothing, no, no, no, so
- 1:22:58what My answer, my true answer to this is we are not marketing people.
- 1:23:03It is not our jobs to figure this out. And they do need
- 1:23:09to figure this out, right, But if it was that easy to come
- 1:23:13up with the answers, this wouldn't be a question. Because we've asked then
- 1:23:16asked this question many times. I mean we've we've said before, right,
- 1:23:21or folks who you know played Flesh and Blood have said, hey, cool
- 1:23:25prizes for going out and going to your locals can't just be cool prizes.
- 1:23:30It has to be meaningful prizes, right, Like, well, that's kind
- 1:23:35of one and the same thing. Well, okay, well, I think
- 1:23:40many people I think the disc tokens are cool, but I'm not going to
- 1:23:44go out of my way to go drive hours to an event to get one.
- 1:23:47That means they're just not cool enough actually cool. Well, but I
- 1:23:51think again we're meaningful. Yeah, right, Like when they're pieces of cardboard,
- 1:23:58I guess you're right, that's just not cool. Like they're cool,
- 1:24:00but they're not that cool. There are other games that have succeeded and do
- 1:24:05just fine, and their prizes are not that meaningful, like like the prizes
- 1:24:11and Magic are not that meaningful for Friday Night Magic. Like the prizes that
- 1:24:16matter for that are the fact that they always do store credit and give away
- 1:24:19decks or tacks right, it is not the foil. Whatever you get that's
- 1:24:25worth three bucks. Well, and it's been a round. The longevity from
- 1:24:28magic just continues to bring whatever I'm saying, Like, prizes alone will not
- 1:24:33land you a thing. Free tacks JM will not bring you in tons of
- 1:24:42players. The more free stuff you give away from the game, the more
- 1:24:45you devalue it, Like you can't just flood the market with free junk.
- 1:24:50It does not work. So my well, that is true the seven s,
- 1:24:58but people do love it now. My response has actually changed for this
- 1:25:02right now. I think what gg ken and needs to be doing is very
- 1:25:08simple, and that's communication. They started off very very hot once the transition
- 1:25:13was announced. I think that things have really cooled off. But they need
- 1:25:16to communicate with the player base. They need to communicate with the stores right
- 1:25:20now, and they need to get product in all of the stores yesterday before
- 1:25:27go ahead. I mean this is directed towards like what can gig do right,
- 1:25:30Like shouldn't they just market this is the last time marketed this damn game.
- 1:25:38They haven't, which is why this is why that there needs to be
- 1:25:42communication with the stores and they need to market yes for new players to join
- 1:25:47our community. The person across the table is why come out. I enjoy
- 1:25:54playing with people in our local scene. I enjoy Wookie when you were there,
- 1:25:58Sheep. I love that you have consistently been there. I appreciate that
- 1:26:01Jason missed perfect is out. I appreciate that Sydneys did you just say very
- 1:26:06clearly that like everybody else, you like being there, and you're just like
- 1:26:11you like that I come, But there was nothing about actually liking Sydney.
- 1:26:17I absolutely that she drives the forty five minutes, but it's it's the little
- 1:26:23conversations as soon as we get back in the car that Sheep's like, yeah,
- 1:26:27you're gonna call me in two minutes anyway. But it's that relationship where
- 1:26:30you've created a friendship, and that's what we need to do. But that's
- 1:26:34the extent of where we are as a community. You people will come out
- 1:26:40if you have a friendship. Frankly, I'm spending a lot more money than
- 1:26:45I probably should to go to vall tours, but it's because of our amazing
- 1:26:47community. So continue that build it up. Enjoy the small little moments there
- 1:26:54that can be the draft coor experience it can be going grabbing food beforehand,
- 1:26:59It can be seen friends that you haven't seen in a while. To be
- 1:27:01able to do that with a game that we love makes it that much more.
- 1:27:04But the game will come if Gig is frankly doing what the company needs
- 1:27:10to do to publicize it to be able to go ahead and and push that
- 1:27:15information to the stores and make sure that people are aware, Hey, the
- 1:27:18game is not dead, because it's clearly not. Didn't you have someone the
- 1:27:24other day just be like, oh I thought that game was dead. Yeah,
- 1:27:28and store employee on Tuesday, and that's where I started, Like I
- 1:27:35was talking to him because all of a sudden, we've been trying to buy
- 1:27:39a deck, you know, we come out on Tuesdays, but all of
- 1:27:43a sudden, the product just magically left. There was a few decks from
- 1:27:47away, there was some World's Collide, there was some DT and all of
- 1:27:56a sudden it just disappeared. And so I had a conversation with them.
- 1:27:59I've seen a couple different store employees that were there, and that's exactly what
- 1:28:02the comment was is, Oh, you're you're here. Yeah, you're here
- 1:28:08like every other every once in a while, every couple of weeks. No,
- 1:28:12no, no, we're here every week. We've been here every week
- 1:28:15or a few weeks that we have missed. Yeah, So for that store
- 1:28:21employee, honestly, when you were you weren't even gone because on vacation you
- 1:28:27came back and we're still here. We left when we thought we were going
- 1:28:30to be here in January, playing with woe. That is the only reason
- 1:28:33that we took a little bit of a hiatus because there was nothing until May.
- 1:28:39I mean, let's be very honest, and we lost one of our
- 1:28:42locals as a result of it. But others, althers have come out.
- 1:28:46I enjoy little comments. You know, there's there's there's no insight fun things.
- 1:28:55How do they get that information out in a meaning way? Right?
- 1:29:00Like, That's that's where they're suffering. Like articles on keyforging dot com are
- 1:29:08useless for finding players us creating this podcast does not bring in many new players
- 1:29:15right there. There is not a podcast that is KeyForge centric that brings in
- 1:29:21new key Forge players, right Like, you're already a key Forge player if
- 1:29:27you're listening to a key Forge podcast. So they're they're well, that's where
- 1:29:31like normal business marketing should be a thing like I first heard about this through
- 1:29:35Amazon because there is marketing things at a video from Garfield himself, like,
- 1:29:40there's all kinds of like marketing things. We haven't seen advertising for this thing
- 1:29:46anywhere, Like they're not everythingsing on BGG, they're not banner, Like there
- 1:29:55needs to be products before they could do that. So so it's possible is
- 1:30:00supposed to be a pre release event in approximately one month from now, Yeah,
- 1:30:06they should be advertising that KeyForge is back, you come and play,
- 1:30:13And maybe maybe they're going to do that, and maybe it's just a few
- 1:30:15weeks before the events are going to happen, because if you see a thing
- 1:30:18for a month out, it may not be something. But like, there
- 1:30:25are places that they need to be advertising. There are plenty of more general
- 1:30:32gaming podcasts and card gaming podcasts that will take their money and at least say,
- 1:30:39hey, this key Forge thing is back again. Yeah, Like I
- 1:30:43don't know how many people are just straight yeah, I will take your money
- 1:30:45and say it's the greatest game, even if I don't think it is.
- 1:30:49But there are definitely plenty of places they'll take your money and be like,
- 1:30:51hey, we took their money, this is a thing. Check it out.
- 1:30:55Well, Wookie, haven't you weren't you in talking with Professor who a
- 1:31:00much bigger influence on like the magic community, so that you have to have
- 1:31:04some strategy of who you're communicating to and who's wow. I mean, I'm
- 1:31:09not gonna lie to I was trying to him to get you know, because
- 1:31:11he's got his new shuffle up and play and he did a Yugio episode and
- 1:31:15that was like a big thing, and I saw a lot of the Key
- 1:31:17Forge could be like time to do a Key Forage episode. I mean,
- 1:31:21let's be honest, like that is not financially responsible for the Professor, Like
- 1:31:27like this man lives and dies off of what he produces on YouTube. Um,
- 1:31:32I don't know how many people are gonna watch it episode, Like I
- 1:31:36mean, we get you know, And that's that's why Gig has to sweet
- 1:31:44a little bit. Yeah right, I think it worthy for him to do,
- 1:31:46right, And I will say that's marketing dollars, right, Like,
- 1:31:49I mean, dollars need to be spent defined players. The crazy thing is
- 1:31:54when we were doing a live I was like, what kind of dollars do
- 1:31:56we got to because he was seriously considering coming to Milwaukee to play Key Forge,
- 1:32:02like you know, and I was like, what what kind of money
- 1:32:04can we throw him, you know, like to make an appearance, because
- 1:32:08I thought it would be huge for the game to get him in playing some
- 1:32:12key forage. And everyone's like, oh, the Professor, you know,
- 1:32:14I mean, look what he did for Flesh and Blood. Now he doesn't
- 1:32:15do that for flesh and Blood and no more after all the craziness and all
- 1:32:20the controversy that's spilled over there. But you know, he's he does other
- 1:32:26things, and I don't know, it's one of those things where, yeah,
- 1:32:30I think maybe it's it's it's time for gig to spend a little money.
- 1:32:34I'm getting some of the higher end names on YouTube doing some stuff for
- 1:32:39that. They did do interviews with that one other show, Team Covenant,
- 1:32:43which Team Covenant does a I mean, they're they're big, but again,
- 1:32:48they're so all over the place, you know what I mean. Well,
- 1:32:53but but that's where they do need to do it on those kinds of shows
- 1:32:57and just maybe you know, like you gottafuriated, somebody's watching right now.
- 1:33:06So I don't even marketing spending their marketing dollars to find new players welcome to
- 1:33:12thenant none of us are marketing guys, so we don't have great answers for
- 1:33:15you. Well, I think here's and here's the deal Team Covenant I mean,
- 1:33:19and I know this sounds nuts considering where a show that gets like twenty
- 1:33:24five hundred listeners a week um, Team Covenants is only fifty seven point two
- 1:33:30case subscribers, so that's not a ton I mean, and their average UM
- 1:33:39view count is right around the same notch as our listenership. So Team Covenant
- 1:33:45maybe not. I mean, again, good idea, but maybe not the
- 1:33:48best because they're more of a business and the dealings of getting product out there
- 1:33:54as opposed the Professor's more of a talking head, does need both. They
- 1:34:00like Team Covenant that used to sell keyboards, Like I think that was actually
- 1:34:03a fine idea. The problem is they needed to do all of the things.
- 1:34:08They're relaunching a game, and like as far as the what we've seen
- 1:34:11is for as their marketing imprint, it's just been to the all of the
- 1:34:14people that already knew about the game. So like that, I mean,
- 1:34:17we're talking about CTP though, like that's been his m oh no, FG
- 1:34:24used to advertise like crazy, right, I would get I would get FG
- 1:34:30advertisements in my Reddit feed line and my Facebook feed line all the time.
- 1:34:38Absolutely like they advertise and then yeah, then they would push the Team Covenant.
- 1:34:47I would get the Team Covenant emails like new sets coming out, get
- 1:34:51your pre order to blah blah blah blah blah. And I would see that
- 1:34:54on BGG all over the place. So I shared, Uh, I've shared
- 1:34:59around a pdf, a bit of the key Forge pdf of what's available to
- 1:35:08game stores, right, Yeah, well we had that asked for that,
- 1:35:14right, Like it was not sent to the store. It was not like
- 1:35:17hey, key Forge's back check it out. It was like I had to
- 1:35:21have my store contact their rep directly and say, like, what's going on
- 1:35:28with key Forge. That's that's what we're dealing with, right, Like the
- 1:35:33stores don't know what's a thing, Like only those of us who care about
- 1:35:38key Forge, no, and it has to get put in front of people
- 1:35:42that are not already invested. Yeah, so JML listed. They definitely advertise
- 1:35:47the game pound campaign, which I do believe they did, like that I
- 1:35:50saw, but I haven't seen present release. I haven't seen consistent follow up.
- 1:35:59I know there's multiple different areas. That's he's packing decks, he's getting
- 1:36:03Vault tours, right, he's sewing up. He's I understand, but here
- 1:36:12was here was the comment that really hurts the store manager who has talking with
- 1:36:15left with well from a niche group, that piece hurts because that's what we're
- 1:36:25seeing. But that's what we're seeing. Why why we will think this has
- 1:36:30to be mainstream? Like you would even call the One Piece group niche group.
- 1:36:33There's twelve people who consistently play that thing. But that's it, man,
- 1:36:38It's like twelve twelve guys. They all work at Amazon and they all
- 1:36:41come and play One Piece together. I don't have an issue with that,
- 1:36:44but I'm telling you, like it has decreased and there needs to be there
- 1:36:49needs to be some larger nets tossing for our marketing, for having products for
- 1:36:56people to play. I mean, it's it's a multiple front effort when you
- 1:36:59want to re release a game. In my total lying to myself thing,
- 1:37:02I'm going to believe that they know more about marketing or somebody knows about marketing,
- 1:37:06like that's kind of what Germany's thing is. And there is not product
- 1:37:11on the floor. The first Vault tour is happening, but like the regular
- 1:37:16stuff you can go play is not happening yet, So what are they advertising
- 1:37:25your local store and you can buy stuff in a few weeks and maybe play
- 1:37:30with the guys who are hanging out in the store. Because we've got no
- 1:37:31organized events and we got no products, so there is not anything to advertise
- 1:37:36today. So do you think and I know this is not on the questions,
- 1:37:40but do you think that it would have been a better company decision to
- 1:37:45produce Woe and have a much more formalized process for getting it to backers on
- 1:37:51Game found and then have product ready to go to stores and have an actual
- 1:37:58plan in place for op I think we are on it and releasing it just
- 1:38:02on first come, first server or who is closest? I I don't know.
- 1:38:06I think we're so heavily invested in the game that we have zero patients.
- 1:38:12We're ready to play yesterday, right and new players or returning players or
- 1:38:18people who the people who are not us, who are not super invested,
- 1:38:23like it really doesn't matter to them if this is quiet for another month or
- 1:38:27two. They don't know about it right now, so it doesn't matter if
- 1:38:30they don't know about it for another month until there really is a deliverable and
- 1:38:34there is not a deliverable to non game found and silly. But the problem
- 1:38:40is that you keep talking about like you need to get product in the start.
- 1:38:43The people in the start don't even know products coming, like they don't
- 1:38:47that that that it is just these products so far that's really orderable. Isn't
- 1:38:54that kind of important? Like it's a pre release, But like you,
- 1:38:58we talked to the to the manage and he's like, oh, yeah,
- 1:39:02well, I'm saying hopefully they've got something planned here for the new future,
- 1:39:06and we see a bunch of stuff, right, we don't. We don't
- 1:39:10know what the plans are. We know we have seen nothing yet. We
- 1:39:13are concerned that it's going to be like it has been in there is not
- 1:39:16going to be much. But maybe it's I'm sure it's going to be in
- 1:39:20the article that we're gonna get my next Thursday. That's also announcing the rest
- 1:39:24of the vaults. Well, because Jeremy has to work stupid hours, it's
- 1:39:27gonna come at twelve or two in the morning. Again. Whatever this last
- 1:39:31one hit, I don't know what that was, just some time to release
- 1:39:39more unlikely. All right, let's go through one more and then we're gonna
- 1:39:41call it a night, because this one got bolded, real real big.
- 1:39:45If Ewak were to pick a key Warrior of the month, somebody who is
- 1:39:49a positive influence on the online key Forge community, who would it be and
- 1:39:56why? Well, as a good little boy scout, I didn't just pick
- 1:40:01one because I've had multiple set up and I do think that there are a
- 1:40:05lot of people. First one, I'm going to catch some flak four,
- 1:40:10but frankly, I put Gigi as the first one, and that is straight
- 1:40:13up for saving the game show. There you go. But I'm gonna tell
- 1:40:23you that without Gig, Frankly, the algorithms lost. The great game that
- 1:40:29we love isn't having this Vault tour that's happening in under two weeks. And
- 1:40:34so that that for me, with all the frustration and it is very,
- 1:40:40very very frustrating, I'm still grateful for that. So that is the first
- 1:40:45Key Warrior number two. Southerly, I know you're here with us, man,
- 1:40:49but solely Alf You've put in a tremendous amount of time and I'm super
- 1:40:54excited to see are Zeta testing finish up because the product that you've put out
- 1:41:00and then you've worked with in Z your scoring system as a whole. It's
- 1:41:03another phenomenal asset for the key Forge community. The third group that I had,
- 1:41:11frankly is people who've put up their own money. This is a shout
- 1:41:15out to Joker for Vault Warrior, Jupiter for starting KFPL the key FORGS Premier
- 1:41:20League. I don't know how we as key Forge players survived the pandemic without
- 1:41:30TCO, frankly, without Fault Warrior, without online events. I just don't
- 1:41:36think it happens. And so that is my third group. I frankly had
- 1:41:43our own supporters, so local car hire graph for Tuesdays Sheep. I know
- 1:41:49you're with me now, but you guys ran events and events, and you
- 1:41:55were so consistent. You were there every single time you said you'd be there,
- 1:42:00and if not, you're on vacation. You find someone else to be
- 1:42:02able to sub in for you. And I don't think. I think too
- 1:42:06often that just goes unnoticed or it's underappreciated. But that is the community that
- 1:42:14I look forward to, being able to chat. I can't make an event.
- 1:42:16I show up a little bit late. I just got the kids down.
- 1:42:19You know, that's dad life, but I'll still hop in and talk
- 1:42:23to people and I enjoy every comment that's there. And frankly, we have
- 1:42:29more content creators who are coming, but that content creation list is phenomenal.
- 1:42:35Seeing people at KFC, I'm just I'm very, very humbled to be a
- 1:42:42part of this group. We have a phenomenal key Forge community, and so
- 1:42:47I know that I plugged it into five different categories, but I don't think
- 1:42:51key Forge exists if even one of those isn't here. Suddenly I know that
- 1:42:59your new piece is huge edition, and so I'm really excited for you to
- 1:43:02be able to share it and really take pride. And I didn't have a
- 1:43:04lot of voice there today, but behind the scenes, man, you're rocking
- 1:43:12it. So awesome job everyone. Yeah, a bit over two months of
- 1:43:16work should come to fruition very soon. And one thing I want to say
- 1:43:23before we wrap it up here, there's a lot of new key Forage content
- 1:43:27creators out there. If you're on social media, share their stuff, give
- 1:43:31it a like, subscribe to them, do all the things that is important
- 1:43:38for Google to get it into the algorithm. I feel that one of the
- 1:43:44most important reasons that some of the games are in the position they are right
- 1:43:48now is due to their content creators, and that's legit. Like, if
- 1:43:54you look at the games that are on top, they are the ones that
- 1:43:58have the most consistent, best content creator core. So it is important to
- 1:44:04even if you don't watch the whole video, give it a like, give
- 1:44:09it a share, shared on your Facebook, shared on your Twitter, share
- 1:44:12it on your TikTok, whatever the case may be. Because the more it's
- 1:44:16out there and the more it's able to be found, the more people are
- 1:44:20going to be willing to try it. But it's not going to get out
- 1:44:25there, it's not going to get found, and it's going to be it's
- 1:44:28gonna be. I don't remember what sheep used this week, but you know,
- 1:44:30posting our events in the Facebook group to a bunch of people that are
- 1:44:34already in the Facebook group does nothing right. Sharing it to other key Forge
- 1:44:41players and sharing and discords doesn't do a ton. It needs to get out
- 1:44:45to the people who haven't played in a while who are coming back, or
- 1:44:49the people who have never played it and want to try it. That's honestly
- 1:44:54the most thing. So go check out your hffs, go check out I'm
- 1:44:59trying to think of all the people, like off the top of my head,
- 1:45:02um, and I'm seeing a blank. But see, Wookie, This
- 1:45:06is why I didn't even go ahead and start to list, because there are
- 1:45:11so many. There's a lot, I mean a lot. You have bottom
- 1:45:16of the beaker. You are, Yes, Murph is doing some stuff.
- 1:45:26Um, I'm gonna butcher his name Lenusu. I've checked him out on the
- 1:45:32number of a kids from Yeah, it's line is from the right. I
- 1:45:38didn't I didn't know what he wanted to be called data Forge. Um,
- 1:45:44yeah, you know, share it, get it out there, because again,
- 1:45:47the more Google can reach on to it, al's an algorithm, the
- 1:45:51more key Forge is going to show up, and that gets it into those
- 1:45:55that same kind of Um you know, Echelon is your Magics, your Hugos,
- 1:46:00your Pokemons, and all these other games that are being played right now.
- 1:46:05It's so captain's compot. I mean you have us were not there anymore.
- 1:46:11You have Weekend key Warriors. Again, the list keeps increasing. Correct
- 1:46:17wordcaster forage that's new, uh kPr is new? What is I'm trying to
- 1:46:25think of what did you say with worcaster? That's Tobin's right. The wordcaster
- 1:46:30Foraged. Yeah, that's a read. But again, there's so many great
- 1:46:33individuals out there, and I apologize if I missed anyone, because I'm sure
- 1:46:38I did, but you did. But again, there's there's been since Key
- 1:46:43Forage came back. There's been a bunch, right, But the most important
- 1:46:46thing is just getting it into the elgorythm so that people who don't know about
- 1:46:51it are able to stumble upon it. That's that's the biggest thing. That's
- 1:46:57where I'm gonna leave it for today. What do you guys got for final
- 1:46:59thoughts? Sheep? Final thoughts? Dinobot two man, dinabot andy forget like
- 1:47:05yes, see again my point still rings true, but sheep, what do
- 1:47:13you got for final thoughts? Today? Keep playing drazz Car? Uh Yeah,
- 1:47:21you can't make it to Philly, I believe TTR. There's another group
- 1:47:26or it's gonna stream it right yep, yep, So check out the stream.
- 1:47:30If you can't be there. If you are going to be there,
- 1:47:32say hi to us and everyone accept drazz Car, say hi everybody except drazz
- 1:47:39Car. He'll be there and he'll be in the second number. Yep,
- 1:47:43yep. I'm I'm gonna go. Can I just bring a seal old deck.
- 1:47:50Is that is that okay? Because I play seal. That's why I'm
- 1:47:53gonna tell them totally allowed. Yep. So who do we got in that?
- 1:48:00Uh? You walk shout out to Catser and Captain's keypot like Captain's coompod.
- 1:48:06There's so many good content producers out here. I am excited to be
- 1:48:11able to see some of you over at Philly. So if you see me,
- 1:48:15come say hi. I always enjoy being able to meet people, even
- 1:48:18if it is that that little break is ye when you know you're trying to
- 1:48:21go and get bathroom or over some water and come see me. It is
- 1:48:27great to have our community with us. Southerly. One final question for the
- 1:48:33AMA, why did the chicken go to the seance? Because to get to
- 1:48:42the other side got it all right. And I look forward to seeing lots
- 1:48:51of folks that I haven't seen in a while at Philly next weekend. So
- 1:48:56I'm looking forward to that. I have been playing Lots of Woe and it
- 1:48:59is amazing set to play. It is not just fun, it is really
- 1:49:02really good. Um, So get on TCO and play some O. You
- 1:49:06don't actually have to own a will deck to play on there, pulling up
- 1:49:11on the Okay or a master Ball or whatever and plug it in there and
- 1:49:15heck if you have path uh Patreon and look up the z score first,
- 1:49:18finding good number that you like and see how it goes. Because this is
- 1:49:21very fun to play the set. That's fine advice. That's gonna do it
- 1:49:29for us this week. Join us next week, where we don't know what
- 1:49:32we'll be doing or if we'll be doing anything, we'll be here Thursday.
- 1:49:36That God, God thro the handside my cross. I do catch some down
- 1:50:04time the bank water. You put the big banks way to bank God,
- 1:50:18So did you consid
