- 0:00Speaker 1: It is back, and I'm excited because I am a
- 0:03Speaker 1: big fan of the Block. I love it at Sunday
- 0:05Speaker 1: or Wednesday seven o'clock on Sundays seven thirty the rest
- 0:08Speaker 1: of the week, and this year w a representation and
- 0:13Speaker 1: last year, of course we won. So no pressure, guys.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Lisa and Roscoe, good morning.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Good morning, welcome to the studio.
- 0:21Speaker 1: We were just talking about how, you know, it's nice
- 0:23Speaker 1: to have the first one has gone to wear and
- 0:24Speaker 1: you had a little viewing party, but mostly for your
- 0:27Speaker 1: little boy so that he could see what was going on.
- 0:30Speaker 3: Absolutely, Yeah, we just wanted to sit with him and
- 0:32Speaker 3: explain to him this is what mommy and daddy are doing. Yeah,
- 0:36Speaker 3: it's where we've boon.
- 0:37Speaker 1: Now, Lisa, you've described yourself as a lifelong Block super
- 0:41Speaker 1: fan to stand. So when was that moment where you thought,
- 0:46Speaker 1: oh my god, I'm actually doing it. Was it when
- 0:49Speaker 1: you first drive up to the actual sight.
- 0:53Speaker 3: Maybe when we got on the plane.
- 0:54Speaker 1: Yeah, so even earlier?
- 0:57Speaker 3: Yeah, two days before that, okay, oh yeah, we didn't
- 1:01Speaker 3: have a long turn around time. We had nine days notice,
- 1:03Speaker 3: so holy yeah, yeah, oh my gosh.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Yeah, flat out getting a little one into daycare and
- 1:09Speaker 2: that and then yeah, yeah, we've done on the plane
- 1:12Speaker 2: and that's for we sort of had a minute to ourselves.
- 1:15Speaker 1: This is not a weekend away.
- 1:16Speaker 4: This is like this. This adds to the drama and
- 1:20Speaker 4: the pressure. You say, oh wow, headlights, Yeah.
- 1:25Speaker 3: Work and get a little one enrolled into daycare. So
- 1:28Speaker 3: luckily we had the most amazing spot from our employers
- 1:31Speaker 3: and from our local daycare. Thank you so much.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Yeah, everyone was amazing. That so good family and friends
- 1:38Speaker 2: and yeah.
- 1:39Speaker 4: Yeah Roscoe, you, I understand, have tackled some pretty major
- 1:44Speaker 4: projects at home, something to do with ansten.
- 1:50Speaker 2: A lot longer to do that.
- 1:53Speaker 4: Well, yeah, but still now it's a lot of pressure.
- 1:56Speaker 4: Did that prepare you well for what they threw at
- 1:59Speaker 4: you on the block?
- 2:01Speaker 2: Didn't teach me the block building standards, that's for sure,
- 2:05Speaker 2: And you couldn't do it to your own time frame? No, no, no, yeah,
- 2:08Speaker 2: I need a lot more time to perfect things when
- 2:11Speaker 2: I'm rushed, I'm not I'm not as good at the
- 2:13Speaker 2: quality side.
- 2:14Speaker 1: So, oh dear, there's so much to learn about yourselves
- 2:21Speaker 1: and about each other on the block. What is the
- 2:23Speaker 1: skill you discovered you had that surprised you the most.
- 2:28Speaker 2: Leasa's Interior Design second to none. Well, I think second.
- 2:35Speaker 3: I liked Yeah, but just because you like something necessarily
- 2:38Speaker 3: good at it. So yeah, it was really exciting to
- 2:41Speaker 3: see the ideas actually come to life and be like, hey,
- 2:43Speaker 3: we're like, we're like half good at this.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, we're actually okay. Yeah.
- 2:47Speaker 4: Did you know how to work on each other's strengths?
- 2:50Speaker 4: Obviously interior design being one yours obviously not so much.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Yeah, not so much interior design. I've got good at painting.
- 2:58Speaker 1: The one that always separates the you know, the men
- 3:01Speaker 1: from the boys, as they say on the painting. I
- 3:04Speaker 1: don't mind painting. I really sort of in this kind
- 3:08Speaker 1: of rhythm, you just feel it.
- 3:09Speaker 2: It is when you're when you've got time to, you know,
- 3:12Speaker 2: really do a good job.
- 3:15Speaker 1: You don't have time is not something you ever have
- 3:18Speaker 1: a lot of.
- 3:19Speaker 3: At one point I was actually screaming at him painter.
- 3:22Speaker 2: And I just it just gets get worse and worse
- 3:25Speaker 2: and yelling at least. I'm like, if you rush me,
- 3:27Speaker 2: it gets bad.
- 3:28Speaker 4: You're not working on the this and now speed it up.
- 3:32Speaker 4: So modaalizer over on the Mornington Peninsula part of the world.
- 3:40Speaker 4: I mean, that's the first time we're told that there's
- 3:42Speaker 4: been ocean views, water views at.
- 3:46Speaker 1: Least the ocean. Yeah, well down there getting towards you.
- 3:54Speaker 3: Yeah, the views are breathtaking, the incredible whatever you're imagining
- 3:59Speaker 3: it times by ten, it's wow, out of this world.
- 4:02Speaker 2: Whenever you needed a moment, you just you just have
- 4:05Speaker 2: a look at the view and it's like, okay.
- 4:07Speaker 4: Inspiration.
- 4:08Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely a lot of inspiration.
- 4:10Speaker 3: You never got sick of it.
- 4:11Speaker 1: I can imagine, Lisa, you are no stranger to keeping
- 4:17Speaker 1: yourself and other people calm because you're an ambo, you're
- 4:20Speaker 1: a registered nurse. Did these skills come in handy or
- 4:23Speaker 1: was it just you know, gloves are off.
- 4:26Speaker 3: No, they absolutely did. I definitely it became very apparent.
- 4:30Speaker 3: I work best under pressure with a time frame, in
- 4:33Speaker 3: amongst chaos. I'm very very comfortable amongst chaos. That was
- 4:37Speaker 3: when i did some of my best work. Ross on
- 4:39Speaker 3: the other hand, process, Yeah, he's very process orientated, methotical.
- 4:47Speaker 3: He's a logistics expert, so he needs like you can
- 4:51Speaker 3: see our jobs reflected in our person very strongly. Yeah,
- 4:55Speaker 3: so it was quite interesting to see, but.
- 4:57Speaker 2: Good at Like so when one of us is having
- 4:59Speaker 2: a day and the other would always be up and
- 5:02Speaker 2: bring the other person up. They're always good at like yeah,
- 5:06Speaker 2: so if ones down, the other will bring the other up.
- 5:09Speaker 2: And that helped us a lot. It was never a
- 5:11Speaker 2: day if that were all both down.
- 5:14Speaker 1: Well, that's good. That's good. So it sounds like you
- 5:16Speaker 1: do work well as a team.
- 5:18Speaker 4: That's something you learned about each other. I guess in
- 5:21Speaker 4: the pressure cooker environment.
- 5:22Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely. I don't know what happened if we're both
- 5:25Speaker 2: down on one day.
- 5:29Speaker 1: There's one more thing that I wanted to ask you
- 5:30Speaker 1: before you take off. This year, everyone's thrown into like
- 5:35Speaker 1: a sharehouse, being back at U or something that like
- 5:39Speaker 1: labels on things in the fridge.
- 5:42Speaker 2: Lining up for a shower timing run in the morning.
- 5:46Speaker 3: Really yeah, yeah, the soggy close in the washing machine days.
- 5:52Speaker 4: Yeah, that's not inspiration to build your own joints.
- 5:55Speaker 2: I don't know what.
- 5:57Speaker 1: Things up, wouldn't it? Well a week can't wait to
- 6:00Speaker 1: see how to all you know, what's not unravels, that's
- 6:05Speaker 1: not unveiled.
- 6:07Speaker 4: What we're saying is we can't wait to see you
- 6:09Speaker 4: bring it home for w A again.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Again, no pressure.
- 6:14Speaker 1: We'll check in with you over the course of the
- 6:16Speaker 1: next couple of months. Guys, thanks for coming in.
- 6:19Speaker 2: Thanks so much,
