- 2:27Speaker 1: awesome review. Loved it, It's so nice. Augh made me happy,
- 2:33Speaker 1: me too. Let's talk Betty's bad luck in love with
- 2:38Speaker 1: a synopsis.
- 2:39Speaker 2: Sure cursed from childhood to fail at romance, Betty's relationships
- 2:45Speaker 2: have always ended in disaster, But when she meets Alex,
- 2:49Speaker 2: She's tempted to try once more. Can true love prevail
- 2:53Speaker 2: over a curse?
- 2:55Speaker 1: This movie was directed by Lynda Lisa Hater. Linda Lisa
- 2:58Speaker 1: has thirteen previous directing credits, including Murder in g Major A,
- 3:02Speaker 1: Haunted Harmony, Mystery, Unexpected Grace, and Cranberry Christmas, all of
- 3:08Speaker 1: which are a little bit heavier in tone, which leads
- 3:12Speaker 1: me to believes UH had some influence on some of
- 3:16Speaker 1: the later moments in this movie.
- 3:18Speaker 2: Yeah interesting, I note Lisa follows us on INSTAGRAMI Lisa
- 3:26Speaker 2: Cameron Johan would you say, Johan?
- 3:31Speaker 1: I don't know why you're second guessing yourself.
- 3:33Speaker 2: It's Johan, right, okay? Cameron Johan wrote the script for
- 3:38Speaker 2: this movie. This is Cameron's second writing credit. He has
- 3:41Speaker 2: also written the screenplay for a movie called Birdie from
- 3:45Speaker 2: twenty twenty one. He has worked in entertainment for a
- 3:48Speaker 2: long time, producing a number of Hallmark movies, including A
- 3:51Speaker 2: Paris Proposal, Ground Swell, and Rippin Time.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Lacey J. Mayley plays Betty. Lacey has twenty nine acting credits,
- 3:59Speaker 1: which include fifty five episodes of the Hallmark series Chesapeake
- 4:02Speaker 1: Shores as Jess O'Brien She was also in one episode
- 4:06Speaker 1: of Hudson and Rex, which I do think is due
- 4:09Speaker 1: for a place on our Hallmark Actor Bingo card due
- 4:12Speaker 1: to the number of times we see that on our resumes.
- 4:15Speaker 2: A lot lately. Marco Garzini plays Alex. Marco's fifty acting
- 4:20Speaker 2: and credits also include murder in g Major, A Haunted
- 4:24Speaker 2: Harmony mystery, and also noteworthy, David has a role as
- 4:29Speaker 2: best Friend Number two in Once Upon a Time, Break
- 4:33Speaker 2: Out those Bengo Cards.
- 4:34Speaker 1: That's Right. Jessica Garcia plays sister Amy. Jessica has twenty
- 4:38Speaker 1: nine acting credits, which include roles in both An Unexpected
- 4:41Speaker 1: Christmas and Time for Him to Come Home for Christmas, incidentally,
- 4:46Speaker 1: both starring one Tyler Hines I mean girl hit the
- 4:49Speaker 1: supporting actor jack Pot, with her lead actors being Tyler
- 4:53Speaker 1: and Marco.
- 4:55Speaker 2: Not too bad right, Not too shabby. Betty's Bad Luck
- 4:59Speaker 2: in Life was filmed in and around Vancouver in mid
- 5:03Speaker 2: to late September twenty twenty three.
- 5:05Speaker 1: What was your first impression of Betty's Bad Luck and Love?
- 5:10Speaker 2: Well? In the words of my fifteen year old daughter
- 5:13Speaker 2: who watched with me, she says, why are they blowing
- 5:17Speaker 2: things up? Isn't this supposed to be a rom com?
- 5:21Speaker 1: Oh? Indeed, my first impression is, girl, that's just stalking.
- 5:33Speaker 2: I've seen a lot of criticism about this whole stalking.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Stool top part. I want the genders and you got
- 5:44Speaker 1: a real problem.
- 5:46Speaker 2: You got a lifetime movie on your hands.
- 5:50Speaker 1: What did we like about Betty's bad luck and love?
- 5:54Speaker 2: Okay, I really liked Lacy JM Maylee. Oh my god,
- 6:01Speaker 2: is that how you say? Bailey Maylee? Right? Okay, I
- 6:04Speaker 2: really like shut up, shut up, shut up, it's Monday morning.
- 6:10Speaker 2: I really liked Lacey J. Maylee. I had forgotten she
- 6:13Speaker 2: was in Chesapeake Shores. Granted I only watched a couple
- 6:18Speaker 2: of episodes, but I forgot that she was like the
- 6:21Speaker 2: younger sister. I think she's the youngest sister on that show. Anyway.
- 6:26Speaker 1: I know there's been a.
- 6:27Speaker 2: Lot of criticism about the character Betty, but I thought
- 6:31Speaker 2: Lacey was awesome.
- 6:34Speaker 1: I agree. Look, I found myself watching this movie with
- 6:37Speaker 1: a big smile on my face almost the entire time.
- 6:40Speaker 1: I have some thoughts, but overall, I like Lacey and
- 6:45Speaker 1: Marco were very charming, and may I say the costume
- 6:52Speaker 1: department deserves on a ward for the up top the
- 6:58Speaker 1: brilliantly fortless wardrobe worn by Lacey Maylie as Betty.
- 7:04Speaker 2: I one agree. It's also in my in my Life situate.
- 7:09Speaker 2: Myf notes here.
- 7:11Speaker 1: I was blown away by how unfussy but absolutely stunning
- 7:18Speaker 1: she looked in every scene she worked, you know, weekend dresses,
- 7:23Speaker 1: her workwear. I loved it. But it doesn't stop with her.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Go ahead, Sorry, I was gonna.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Say like, her work wear was great, her casual wear
- 7:31Speaker 2: was great. Those blouses and jeans, I was like, yes,
- 7:34Speaker 2: put those in my wardrobe right now. She had great
- 7:38Speaker 2: jewelry from head to toe. Stunning. I loved it.
- 7:44Speaker 1: So other honorable mentions go to Maya, Alex and Nelson's costuming.
- 7:48Speaker 1: In my opinion, other than the fact that there's no
- 7:51Speaker 1: way a teacher would wear a bodycon dress in the classroom,
- 7:54Speaker 1: Maya looked great. There's a scene early in the movie
- 7:58Speaker 1: where Alex is wearing like casual spring scarf, and I
- 8:02Speaker 1: feel like that was the chef's kiss and the perfect
- 8:04Speaker 1: way to tell you everything you needed to know about
- 8:07Speaker 1: this free spirit, adventurous, gong owning dude.
- 8:12Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, totally.
- 8:14Speaker 1: And Nelson and his short ties really went a long
- 8:19Speaker 1: way to developing his character in a visual sense. HM
- 8:24Speaker 1: One side note. While I found millennial Annie Hall to
- 8:28Speaker 1: be a very funny line, I hated that bowler hat.
- 8:32Speaker 2: Would she put it on? I was like, wait, is
- 8:35Speaker 2: she going to work at TJ Fridays? What's happening here?
- 8:37Speaker 1: Out loud?
- 8:38Speaker 2: I said, what is she wearing?
- 8:41Speaker 1: Not once, but twice woman on Woman Crime? I apologize
- 8:46Speaker 1: she could not be more beautiful, but they did hurt
- 8:50Speaker 1: no favors.
- 8:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I did not get it whatsoever. And even like
- 8:55Speaker 2: I said, I watched it with my daughter, she was.
- 8:56Speaker 1: Like, what so funny? I agree?
- 9:02Speaker 2: I agree. I don't want to let this segment go
- 9:06Speaker 2: by without mentioning how great Lacey's hair is. Oh, shout
- 9:12Speaker 2: out short hair. Finally I'm getting my moment here, fan
- 9:17Speaker 2: frea fantastic. I loved her hair so much. It was
- 9:20Speaker 2: so chic and cool. I just loved it, loved it.
- 9:24Speaker 1: And what I liked is they didn't give her one
- 9:26Speaker 1: hairstyle and leave it that way the entire time. She
- 9:28Speaker 1: had like a cute like side part and cute like
- 9:32Speaker 1: she had workout wear, and I just oh, she had
- 9:35Speaker 1: the cutest hair. I was watching it in every scene.
- 9:38Speaker 2: Yeah, I loved, loved. What else did you like about
- 9:42Speaker 2: this movie?
- 9:43Speaker 1: The kitchen cooking scene was real hot.
- 9:45Speaker 2: Oh you think so personal?
- 9:47Speaker 1: The kitchen counter, yeah I was.
- 9:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I was kind of steamy, right mm hmm, I
- 9:52Speaker 2: was like real sexy for Hallmark, I thought, m M,
- 9:57Speaker 2: I agree with you. I thought Marco as Alex was
- 10:00Speaker 2: maybe the best I've seen of Marco. I loved his
- 10:05Speaker 2: whole like cool, calm demeanor. It was super sexy. And
- 10:10Speaker 2: then I loved how like funny and playful his character was,
- 10:13Speaker 2: like making jokes but like not trying too hard to
- 10:17Speaker 2: make jokes. I just I thought he was great, and
- 10:20Speaker 2: I agree. I thought that Marco and Lacy were fantastic together.
- 10:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:27Speaker 2: I loved how this movie opens in the past and
- 10:30Speaker 2: we get to see all the backstory of how the
- 10:33Speaker 2: curse happens when we see teenage Elena Varcos come on
- 10:42Speaker 2: when she puts the curse on Betty. Like I said,
- 10:46Speaker 2: I was watching with my teenage daughter and she goes,
- 10:48Speaker 2: who's this emo chick? And I laughed because there's always
- 10:52Speaker 2: one sort of like witchy middle school high school girl
- 10:58Speaker 2: in like every school across America. Am I wrong?
- 11:03Speaker 1: No one hundred percent, they like captured that moment fully fully.
- 11:08Speaker 2: I just thought it was great. And I also really
- 11:11Speaker 2: loved Current Day bff Maya. I thought she was like
- 11:15Speaker 2: a great voice of reason, always relatable and when she
- 11:18Speaker 2: like declares like she's had enough, like that's what you
- 11:22Speaker 2: need from her friend, right.
- 11:24Speaker 1: It just took her a little bit too long to
- 11:26Speaker 1: get there, But yes, I agree, I also agree, And
- 11:30Speaker 1: I do think she had fantastic bangs as well.
- 11:33Speaker 2: It's like great hair, great hair on her. And finally,
- 11:37Speaker 2: for me, I like that Hallmark gave this story ago.
- 11:40Speaker 2: I thought it was different from them from a new Rider.
- 11:45Speaker 2: They're not new faces, but newer faces, right.
- 11:49Speaker 1: Yeah, Lazy's never been in a Hallmark movie, only Chesapeake Shores.
- 11:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I thought it was I thought it
- 11:56Speaker 2: it was enjoyable. It's not a perfect movie. I think
- 12:00Speaker 2: we're gonna get to it, but enjoyable.
- 12:03Speaker 1: I agree. Are you ready for wishes?
- 12:06Speaker 2: I am?
- 12:08Speaker 1: Okay. So for me, I found Betty's behavior to kind
- 12:12Speaker 1: of veer wildly from like cookie and silly to a
- 12:16Speaker 1: little bit over the top. And I think the following
- 12:21Speaker 1: Alex into the woods moment, while it has some like
- 12:23Speaker 1: definite comic relief, it's too much. That's the moment at
- 12:29Speaker 1: which the friend needed to be like, what are we
- 12:30Speaker 1: doing here? Like, first of all, following someone into the
- 12:34Speaker 1: woods and observing them on their camping trip is is
- 12:38Speaker 1: not cute? What exactly is her plan should the worst happen?
- 12:43Speaker 1: Like she's afraid he's gonna fall in the river, he's
- 12:45Speaker 1: gonna get eaten by a bear. What's she gonna do?
- 12:48Speaker 1: She shows herself to be no good in an emergency
- 12:50Speaker 1: when they hear something in the woods. What's her plan there?
- 12:54Speaker 1: I And again, if it were a dude following a
- 12:58Speaker 1: chick on her camping trip, there'd be no argument that
- 13:02Speaker 1: it's not a cool thing to do.
- 13:04Speaker 2: Yes, I hear you. I hear you when you say
- 13:06Speaker 2: all that for me felt kind of harmless. But when
- 13:12Speaker 2: you put it in in that kind of context, yes,
- 13:15Speaker 2: I could see how it could be problematic.
- 13:19Speaker 1: Also, I do think Maya she has a great relationship
- 13:24Speaker 1: with Maya, she has a good relationship with her mom.
- 13:26Speaker 1: I mean, her mom's a little to focus on her
- 13:28Speaker 1: love life. But it's a Hallmark movie, of course. I
- 13:32Speaker 1: do think that, like, when you're this hyper fixated on
- 13:35Speaker 1: this portion of your life to the point that, like
- 13:37Speaker 1: you start to get close to a person and you
- 13:39Speaker 1: immediately break up with them in the car. Someone needs
- 13:43Speaker 1: to say, you should probably talk to someone about this.
- 13:45Speaker 1: I don't There was a little bit of a discussion
- 13:48Speaker 1: about this in our Facebook group. I don't think therapy
- 13:50Speaker 1: is like, your life is at rock bottom, you need
- 13:52Speaker 1: a therapist. I think therapy is like, there's some things
- 13:55Speaker 1: going on that I could use some alternate perspective on,
- 13:58Speaker 1: like who can put this into perspective? Who's not too
- 14:01Speaker 1: close to me?
- 14:02Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 14:03Speaker 1: And I think this character could have benefited from the
- 14:05Speaker 1: occasional talk therapy session.
- 14:09Speaker 2: You know. I was just thinking, we haven't seen like
- 14:13Speaker 2: a therapist in a Hallmark.
- 14:15Speaker 1: Movie, have we not? That I can recall, Like, I think.
- 14:19Speaker 2: That is something they should explore, Like that would kind
- 14:23Speaker 2: of be funny to see her in a session talking
- 14:25Speaker 2: about this stuff and having that the therapist be like, no,
- 14:30Speaker 2: stop doing that, you know, do you know what I mean? Yeah?
- 14:33Speaker 1: And I wonder the level she goes to to get
- 14:37Speaker 1: in touch with a Lenny. Perhaps that's something the therapist
- 14:41Speaker 1: would be like, maybe you just need to get in
- 14:43Speaker 1: touch with this person and say like, because in my vision,
- 14:47Speaker 1: that therapist would be like, yeah, that didn't actually happen.
- 14:49Speaker 1: That's like a thirteen year old making up stories, right, Like,
- 14:53Speaker 1: of course she didn't actually curse you. Everybody knows the
- 14:56Speaker 1: thirteen year old goth girl that they went to elementary
- 14:58Speaker 1: school with who grows to be totally normal s urban's
- 15:01Speaker 1: a soccer mom. Yeah, so I just think she could
- 15:05Speaker 1: have used like a little bit. I think people let
- 15:07Speaker 1: this caught a little bit too long. It does make
- 15:10Speaker 1: for some funny stories, but she's like neurotic to the
- 15:14Speaker 1: point where it's and I speak as someone who is
- 15:16Speaker 1: incredibly neurotic, to the point that I feel like she
- 15:21Speaker 1: would have pushed more people away.
- 15:24Speaker 2: Yeah, our girls Gone. Hallmark Facebook member Paula wrote the
- 15:33Speaker 2: following in the group, and I thought this perfectly summed
- 15:37Speaker 2: it up. And if I may, she says, my problem
- 15:41Speaker 2: with Betty was that she was a risk analysis allegedly
- 15:45Speaker 2: very good at it, but didn't know the difference between
- 15:48Speaker 2: systemic and non systemic risk. That may be just me, though,
- 15:53Speaker 2: So while watching this, I was like, if Betty's career
- 15:58Speaker 2: is making her this anxious about everyday life, maybe she
- 16:02Speaker 2: needs a different career. Yeah, that's a good point, didn't
- 16:07Speaker 2: you think like she was so and it didn't start
- 16:09Speaker 2: out at the beginning like this, because I think at
- 16:12Speaker 2: the beginning, like we see her being like this boss
- 16:14Speaker 2: bitch at work and whatever, right, and then it just
- 16:17Speaker 2: kind of like devolves into she's panicked about every single
- 16:26Speaker 2: situation like anybody's getting into, especially the boyfriend's. And if
- 16:31Speaker 2: I may note, how did this curse? Because the curse
- 16:35Speaker 2: to me feels like it's Betty's bad luck in love? Right,
- 16:40Speaker 2: the curse is on Betty. Why does the curse now
- 16:44Speaker 2: become like final destination.
- 16:46Speaker 1: For the boyfriends?
- 16:47Speaker 2: Right? Well, like she's worried he's gonna ge hit by
- 16:50Speaker 2: a car, eat my bear or her in rugby, Like
- 16:53Speaker 2: every boyfriend of hers is now dying. I just don't what.
- 16:57Speaker 1: And then she like extends the net to cast oh
- 17:00Speaker 1: or maya because when things start going wrong with her wedding,
- 17:03Speaker 1: she's like, oh, clearly it's me. Everybody I love gets
- 17:06Speaker 1: hurt as opposed to shitty things happen like it's not
- 17:09Speaker 1: it was nice of you to offer to pay. It
- 17:12Speaker 1: was unclear what she's paying for. She's paying for the wedding,
- 17:14Speaker 1: is she paying for the refrigerator? Repair a little unclear
- 17:17Speaker 1: to me because she just all pay for it, but
- 17:19Speaker 1: that's a nice thing to do. She clearly has the
- 17:21Speaker 1: means that apartments gorgeous that she lives in all by herself.
- 17:25Speaker 1: But you didn't cause the venue to overbook, like your
- 17:32Speaker 1: friendship with her has not caused these you know, the
- 17:35Speaker 1: refrigerator on your food track to malfunction, right right.
- 17:39Speaker 2: Also, I would like to add I have a couple
- 17:41Speaker 2: more wishes this movie. It started out solid for me.
- 17:46Speaker 2: I was very invested, and then came the camping scene,
- 17:49Speaker 2: which was like far too much high jinks for me.
- 17:51Speaker 2: M m, I mean everybody's hung up on the stalker part.
- 17:54Speaker 2: I was like, oh, nope, this is too much highjinks.
- 17:56Speaker 2: I can't, I can't, I can't even with this. And
- 17:58Speaker 2: then sharp left turn when that building fire happens. I
- 18:04Speaker 2: was like, I felt like there was like two scripts
- 18:07Speaker 2: like mashed together, or if like the writer came up
- 18:09Speaker 2: with like this premise for a fairly great movie, and
- 18:13Speaker 2: then it kind of just didn't see it through. It
- 18:17Speaker 2: took a weird turn for me midway through.
- 18:20Speaker 1: I think that explosion scene, there's a lot going on there,
- 18:26Speaker 1: and for me, there's a fire in this building for
- 18:31Speaker 1: a company that her company has just acquired, and now
- 18:34Speaker 1: all of a sudden, she's convinced it it's her fault. Yeah, no,
- 18:38Speaker 1: fire starts, it's not your fault that a fire started.
- 18:43Speaker 1: The company might have issues to deal with, but nobody's like,
- 18:46Speaker 1: look what you did, Betty.
- 18:48Speaker 2: Yeah it's your fault. That's That's what I said out
- 18:50Speaker 2: loud while watching it. I was like, she was a
- 18:52Speaker 2: risk analysis. She can't predict the future. She does no, yeah, no,
- 18:56Speaker 2: one is going to hold her liable for this, you know.
- 19:00Speaker 1: Yes.
- 19:03Speaker 2: One final stupid thought from me. I hated Betty's wedding dress.
- 19:09Speaker 2: I thought it was like girl sitting I looked gorgeous.
- 19:13Speaker 2: I did not like her wedding dress looks great, I did.
- 19:16Speaker 2: I just do you like their wedding dance down the aisle?
- 19:21Speaker 2: I didn't understand it. Yeah, it made me a little
- 19:24Speaker 2: uncomfortable to watch it, But I didn't understand. I was like,
- 19:27Speaker 2: what is this a throwback to like him dancing down
- 19:29Speaker 2: the stairs and then eating shit? I don't I don't understand.
- 19:33Speaker 1: Yeah, they're having their predistare Jean Kelly moments. I didn't
- 19:37Speaker 1: really get it either. I have a wish, Yes, please
- 19:41Speaker 1: stop shouting during yoga. Y'all are so rude.
- 19:45Speaker 2: Well, when is the last time you've taken a yoga
- 19:47Speaker 2: class and then somebody was shouting in it? That bothered you?
- 19:51Speaker 1: If somebody were having a loud conversation in a yoga class,
- 19:54Speaker 1: I would lose my shit. That is not the place
- 19:58Speaker 1: for it. Go out to coffee, get of this room, Like,
- 20:02Speaker 1: I think it is so presumptuous to be like, yes,
- 20:03Speaker 1: everybody wants to listen to my conversation while they're in
- 20:06Speaker 1: here focusing on this other activity. And it happened not once,
- 20:09Speaker 1: but twice. They had to be shushed multiple times and
- 20:11Speaker 1: they're not even talking, and quiev was They're like, Betty,
- 20:14Speaker 1: you're not gonna believe what's happening with my wedding. It's
- 20:18Speaker 1: out outrageous it I put it in all caps. Stop
- 20:23Speaker 1: shouting during yoga.
- 20:26Speaker 2: You know. I think it doesn't bother me because I
- 20:29Speaker 2: don't take yoga, So you know, I.
- 20:32Speaker 1: Was so uncomfortable watching them shout in that room. I
- 20:35Speaker 1: was like, oh, man, y'all are rude. Like I wove
- 20:38Speaker 1: if I were one of those women and my friend
- 20:40Speaker 1: was talking to me like that, I'd be like, sh.
- 20:44Speaker 2: You're gonna get us kicked out of here.
- 20:45Speaker 1: Be quiet, and then Betty's gonna be like, oh, bad
- 20:50Speaker 1: luck again. Yeah, exactly kicked out of yoga. Are you
- 20:53Speaker 1: ready for digite that? Yes? I am, okay, go ahead.
- 20:57Speaker 2: Well, I thought I was so that I was so
- 21:01Speaker 2: on top of my game when I noticed that Betty's
- 21:04Speaker 2: alarm clock said Saturday on it, and when she wakes
- 21:08Speaker 2: up late and runs downstairs and she's like, oh, this
- 21:10Speaker 2: happening on a Friday where it turns out it it
- 21:12Speaker 2: turns out it was a Saturday. I thought it was
- 21:15Speaker 2: so smart. I thought I was so I took I
- 21:17Speaker 2: paused it and took a picture of it. I was like, we, like,
- 21:20Speaker 2: they really screwed this one up.
- 21:21Speaker 1: No jokes on me, jokes on me, funny jokes on me.
- 21:26Speaker 1: I'd like to think Hallmark Channel Twitter. They pointed out
- 21:30Speaker 1: that Jessica Ceposts from Chesapeake Shores is one of the
- 21:35Speaker 1: firefighters in the explosion scene. So we had a little
- 21:39Speaker 1: bit of a Chesapeake Shores reunion here.
- 21:41Speaker 2: Oh you know, I was wondering they were showing that
- 21:45Speaker 2: actor a lot.
- 21:46Speaker 1: Hmmm.
- 21:47Speaker 2: You know, there was a funny okay, I'll put it
- 21:50Speaker 2: here in my digit see that during that scene, when
- 21:54Speaker 2: the fire explosion was happening, Betty runs over to this
- 21:58Speaker 2: man who's like, I don't know, he's he's somebody in charge.
- 22:01Speaker 2: He's looking like at a map or whatever, and she's
- 22:03Speaker 2: excuse me, are you in charge? And he's like, yes,
- 22:05Speaker 2: he's a paramedic. He's not in charge, it says on
- 22:10Speaker 2: his shirt paramedics. He's not in charge of the whole situation,
- 22:14Speaker 2: not the fire chief. I was gonna say, the fire chief.
- 22:16Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly, exactly, well the whole thing. Okay, first of all,
- 22:23Speaker 1: this is one of my I did to say that's
- 22:25Speaker 1: the building explodes. Alex's just fine, but he's close enough
- 22:29Speaker 1: to the blast that he has fotstains on his face,
- 22:33Speaker 1: but otherwise completely unharmed, no smoke inhalation, no bodily harm.
- 22:38Speaker 1: But he falls down carpeted stairs and sustains a concussion.
- 22:44Speaker 1: I mean, it was like, I want to take this seriously,
- 22:49Speaker 1: but like even the emergency workers aren't that concerned about
- 22:53Speaker 1: what's happening, other than when they start to smell gas
- 22:55Speaker 1: and they're like, get back, get back. But the scene
- 22:59Speaker 1: didn't work for me.
- 23:01Speaker 2: I absolutely agree. This scene didn't work. He's taking photos.
- 23:05Speaker 2: He's like behind the police or like you know, he's
- 23:07Speaker 2: close to the building, and she's like, what.
- 23:10Speaker 1: Are you doing?
- 23:11Speaker 2: He's like, this is what I do. I was like, uh,
- 23:14Speaker 2: you were taking photos in like war zones. This is
- 23:17Speaker 2: like a building on fire. Dude, You're not, like I don't.
- 23:20Speaker 2: You're not breaking some story. This is not whatever. Oh
- 23:24Speaker 2: I didn't understand that whole segment, and he's not out it.
- 23:28Speaker 2: I have one more.
- 23:29Speaker 1: Did you see that?
- 23:30Speaker 2: So when Alex and Betty exchange rings, Betty's ring is
- 23:33Speaker 2: obviously too big for her, he like puts it on
- 23:35Speaker 2: in it fully turns like she's wearing gloves too, so
- 23:39Speaker 2: like that doesn't help the situation. But like he puts
- 23:41Speaker 2: it on in it and it like swivels on her finger,
- 23:44Speaker 2: so you like don't get to see her diamond or whatever.
- 23:47Speaker 1: I just thought it was funny when you wear gloves
- 23:49Speaker 1: in your wedding, do you put your ring on over
- 23:53Speaker 1: your gloves? They did it. Yeah, that's interesting. So then
- 23:57Speaker 1: like after the ceremony, you're taking your ring off then
- 24:00Speaker 1: put in I guess, okay, are you ready to rate
- 24:03Speaker 1: Betty's bad luck in love I am. I gave it
- 24:05Speaker 1: three point seven five stars.
- 24:08Speaker 2: I gave it three stars, all right, three point seven
- 24:11Speaker 2: five is higher than I thought you were going to give.
- 24:14Speaker 1: To be honest, I mean overall, I did find it
- 24:17Speaker 1: to be a pretty cute movie. Just had some moments
- 24:19Speaker 1: where it was you know, but yeah, I didn't tell you.
- 24:23Speaker 1: Lacey Maylee really sold it to me on this one.
- 24:26Speaker 2: I agree. Put her in more movies. M hm.
