- 0:01Speaker 1: You're listening to Bill Handle on demand from kf I
- 0:04Speaker 1: AM six forty.
- 0:10Speaker 2: It's a tech segment with rich Don. Thank God.
- 0:19Speaker 1: Oh sorry, I'm reading about new features on ways and
- 0:23Speaker 1: at the future.
- 0:24Speaker 2: I wanted finally came to it.
- 0:26Speaker 3: Anyway, Sorry, move on, carry on.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Thank God, and now handle on the news, ladies and gentlemen.
- 0:36Speaker 2: Here's Bill Handle. All right, it is Wednesday. It is Humpday, Wednesday,
- 0:44Speaker 2: August nineteenth. As we uh well today at A thirty
- 0:50Speaker 2: eight Medical News with Jim. And there's some interesting stories
- 0:55Speaker 2: about postcard and blues because it looks like we have
- 1:00Speaker 2: that uh, what's your say, Clancy, what's her first name?
- 1:02Speaker 2: I'm always so good at that sort of thing, Lindsay,
- 1:07Speaker 2: Did I not know that?
- 1:08Speaker 4: Do you remember that one.
- 1:09Speaker 2: I should get out?
- 1:11Speaker 3: Huh.
- 1:12Speaker 2: Yeah, she's going to get out of her murder potential conviction,
- 1:17Speaker 2: which all things being equal, she's already admitted to killing
- 1:20Speaker 2: three kids, her three kids, So now it's a question
- 1:24Speaker 2: is that she nuts or not. So we'll talk a
- 1:26Speaker 2: little bit about that with Jim later on. Also, I
- 1:29Speaker 2: had an interesting conversation with Lindsay last night. Now, when
- 1:33Speaker 2: we disagree on something, it always ends with uh, yeah,
- 1:38Speaker 2: that's because you're an old man. Uh and you know
- 1:44Speaker 2: it's it's I don't know how to argue against that.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Uh yeah, you know. Next week is my birthday, and uh,
- 1:52Speaker 2: I guess I'm going to be officially old at that point.
- 1:56Speaker 2: I used to always be. I used to always be
- 1:58Speaker 2: the youngest in my crowd because I was born in
- 2:02Speaker 2: last week of August and September one was the cut
- 2:06Speaker 2: off date for school, so I was always the absolute
- 2:10Speaker 2: youngest of the entire crowd. Now, thank God that I'm
- 2:18Speaker 2: still alive. All right, Let's let's say good morning, Will Colesreiver.
- 2:25Speaker 2: Good morning Will.
- 2:26Speaker 3: Thank God?
- 2:27Speaker 2: Yeah, you got it. God is who's never going to
- 2:31Speaker 2: forget that one is We're rich to morrow is going
- 2:35Speaker 2: to be there forever on a promo? All right, So
- 2:38Speaker 2: Will's there.
- 2:38Speaker 4: Amy, Good morning, Good morning Bill.
- 2:41Speaker 2: I was just listening to you. How is it that
- 2:42Speaker 2: you did not go to the Disney Convention Show meeting
- 2:46Speaker 2: D twenty three? Is that what they call it?
- 2:48Speaker 4: Yeah, I just haven't. I haven't done it yet. It's
- 2:50Speaker 4: sort of like the Comic con for day.
- 2:52Speaker 2: You can't get you can't get in, right, it's impossible
- 2:54Speaker 2: to you. You can kind of thing.
- 2:56Speaker 4: You can get in, you have you buy tickets for it.
- 2:58Speaker 4: It's like a three day convention.
- 3:00Speaker 2: No, I understand. But is it sold out like comic Con.
- 3:04Speaker 2: You can't get in. I mean it's just almost impossible.
- 3:06Speaker 4: Yeah, it does sell out. Maybe I'll go next year.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Why don't you get credentialed as a reporter person? They
- 3:13Speaker 2: know who you are. You would think that all you
- 3:16Speaker 2: do is say, hey, I'm Amy King, and oh, Amy King.
- 3:20Speaker 2: What you don't want to say is I'm Amy King
- 3:22Speaker 2: on Handle's morning show. Oh, we don't want you. There's
- 3:25Speaker 2: no chance. But anyway, I'd love to see your take
- 3:28Speaker 2: on it. Oh wait a second, I know what your
- 3:30Speaker 2: take is. It was wonderful. It was fantastic. It was great.
- 3:34Speaker 2: The two hour lines for the restroom wonderful, no problem.
- 3:39Speaker 4: Okay, there's never two hour lines for the restroom, except
- 3:42Speaker 4: for that one time when the water supply got but
- 3:44Speaker 4: that was a whole city wide thing. But there are lines,
- 3:48Speaker 4: and there are long lines, and maybe that's one of
- 3:50Speaker 4: the reasons that I stay away from it. There's a
- 3:52Speaker 4: lot of waiting.
- 3:53Speaker 2: Yeah, bladder issues, I know.
- 3:55Speaker 4: You know, every time, not for the toilet.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Every time I go to the movies, and I get
- 4:01Speaker 2: there fairly early. I try to get in the middle
- 4:05Speaker 2: of the row and or my seat. If I bought
- 4:08Speaker 2: a seat, it's in the middle of whatever theater. It
- 4:12Speaker 2: doesn't matter. And as I'm going excuse me, excuse me,
- 4:15Speaker 2: excuse me. As I'm going past these people, especially in
- 4:18Speaker 2: seats that have almost no leg room at all, your
- 4:21Speaker 2: knee is jammed up against the seat in front of
- 4:23Speaker 2: you as I pass, and people clearly are not happy
- 4:28Speaker 2: with me or anybody else where. You have to let
- 4:30Speaker 2: people through. I always look at the person saying, you
- 4:33Speaker 2: know what, I know how rough this is. By the way,
- 4:37Speaker 2: I have a bladder as big as a walnut, So
- 4:40Speaker 2: enjoy yourself, Okay, Neil, good morning? Hey there, Willy, Willie, Yeah,
- 4:48Speaker 2: William sometimes works, Willy never does. And good morning, good morning.
- 4:55Speaker 2: There you go, excited, excited lady. And then there's Cono
- 4:58Speaker 2: dressed up as usual, uh overdressed Good morning, mister, each
- 5:03Speaker 2: good morning. Okay, guys, what is going on today? Is
- 5:08Speaker 2: hot not a Schwitz. I noticed you guys were talking
- 5:11Speaker 2: about not a Schwitz. We're not gonna have Schwitzerama today.
- 5:14Speaker 2: We are not going to have Schitzageddon. We are not
- 5:17Speaker 2: going to have any of that, but it's going to
- 5:19Speaker 2: be hot exactly those We have a few of those,
- 5:27Speaker 2: that's correct.
- 5:29Speaker 1: It's not just a Schwitz it's schwitz Mania.
- 5:34Speaker 2: We have a lot of those over the years. It's
- 5:37Speaker 2: going to be a Schitz out there. Lord, your voice
- 5:42Speaker 2: on a different one.
- 5:45Speaker 3: It's Schwitzmageddon. You can hear the snacks.
- 5:51Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, great fun. All right, We've got a lot
- 5:54Speaker 2: going on, and of course, so we're hearing one thing
- 5:57Speaker 2: and then we hear another. And this has to do
- 5:59Speaker 2: with what going on worldwide, especially the United States and
- 6:03Speaker 2: the world. And let's do it. It's time for handle
- 6:05Speaker 2: on the news on this August nineteenth Wednesday, with Amy
- 6:10Speaker 2: and Neil and me lead stories. Okay, the President yesterday,
- 6:20Speaker 2: i guess, admitted that no talks with Iran are underway,
- 6:25Speaker 2: none are scheduled. And I think Kushner on Monday two
- 6:30Speaker 2: days ago said the US and Iran we're having very
- 6:33Speaker 2: positive and active conversations, which Iran said, you are dreaming,
- 6:39Speaker 2: and the President concurred with you are dreaming. And the
- 6:45Speaker 2: Trump lone on two social when was this, he wrote,
- 6:50Speaker 2: there are no talks or conversations going on or scheduled
- 6:53Speaker 2: with the Islamic Republic. Every Roan, Oh buy that the
- 6:56Speaker 2: naval blockade remains in full force and effect. Yeah, that's true.
- 7:03Speaker 2: The horror move straight is open and operating. Not so much.
- 7:10Speaker 2: Not so much. The US controls the strait of horror moves.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Why aren't there one hundred and thirty ships a day
- 7:17Speaker 2: passing through what used to be an open international waterway?
- 7:21Speaker 2: So you know, we get what we get, and then
- 7:23Speaker 2: I'm gonna do a story later on about Iran. And
- 7:26Speaker 2: it does not bode well either for the President or
- 7:31Speaker 2: Republicans in the midterm. It's hurting Trump a lot, and
- 7:36Speaker 2: it's hurting Republicans who are backing Trump and running for
- 7:40Speaker 2: office in the general election November. They just get get
- 7:44Speaker 2: nailed on that. Okay, Moving on.
- 7:49Speaker 4: House buying horrors ahead. Long term government borrowing costs of
- 7:54Speaker 4: climb to their highest level and nearly two decades. The
- 7:58Speaker 4: thirty year treasury yield jumped five point three to two percent,
- 8:03Speaker 4: registering its highest level since two thousand and seven. It
- 8:07Speaker 4: did drop back down a bit. The surgeon borrowing costs
- 8:10Speaker 4: threatens to raise mortgages and credit card rates. They're already
- 8:16Speaker 4: up really high. I just got a new credit card
- 8:18Speaker 4: twenty one percent, and I have like good credit.
- 8:21Speaker 2: I stopped off at a what was the place yesterday? Oh?
- 8:26Speaker 2: Baja Fresh? Do you have me to do a Baja Fresh? Yeah?
- 8:30Speaker 2: Very good. So I had a burrito. Let's it just
- 8:33Speaker 2: a burrito, big burrito, bigger than I thought it was
- 8:35Speaker 2: going to be a chicken burrito. Fifteen dollars for a
- 8:40Speaker 2: chicken burrito which used to cost seven eight dollars and
- 8:44Speaker 2: not too long ago.
- 8:45Speaker 3: Is it the whole chicken?
- 8:47Speaker 2: It's yeah, well I ordered it without feathers, which is
- 8:51Speaker 2: a little bit more. Yeah, it's it's a fiber. It's
- 8:55Speaker 2: just it's true. But it's you know, it's it's sort
- 8:59Speaker 2: of it is and what is I don't know where
- 9:03Speaker 2: have we done this already the news or we're going
- 9:05Speaker 2: to cover it that we are hitting forty trillion dollars
- 9:09Speaker 2: in the national debt coming up?
- 9:12Speaker 5: Well, for those of you want lower interest rates, Premiere America.
- 9:17Speaker 5: I have eight percent on my credit card. Eight percent,
- 9:21Speaker 5: so wait, Premiere America.
- 9:23Speaker 3: Premier America credit Union.
- 9:25Speaker 2: That is pretty impressive.
- 9:26Speaker 3: They're wonderful.
- 9:27Speaker 4: Yeah, but do you earn miles?
- 9:30Speaker 3: No, you can't.
- 9:32Speaker 2: You can't not at eight percent. And I just got
- 9:34Speaker 2: a notice from Costco because I have a Costco credit
- 9:38Speaker 2: card as well as my Costco entrance thing that if
- 9:43Speaker 2: I move over to Costco because I'm on their mailing list,
- 9:45Speaker 2: I would get interest rates that start at nine percent
- 9:50Speaker 2: for the first year and then go up. But eight
- 9:51Speaker 2: percent is phenomenal, It really is.
- 9:54Speaker 5: Okay, all right, Justice Department send a record one thousand
- 10:00Speaker 5: monitors to mid term polling places. So they have a
- 10:04Speaker 5: department there, the Civil Rights Division, and they are going
- 10:09Speaker 5: to place them throughout polling places in the US. Her
- 10:13Speaker 5: Meet Dylan is the Assistant Attorney General for the Civil
- 10:17Speaker 5: Rights Division.
- 10:18Speaker 3: He made the announcement.
- 10:22Speaker 2: I have a question now, and that is how many
- 10:27Speaker 2: of those Civil Rights Division monitors are going to be
- 10:32Speaker 2: in the Democratic districts versus the Republican ones.
- 10:36Speaker 5: All of of you, you don't need to monitor the Republicans.
- 10:40Speaker 2: They do it, right, That's correct, That is absolutely correct.
- 10:44Speaker 3: In California.
- 10:45Speaker 2: Yeah, and they won't be in the Central Valley either.
- 10:49Speaker 2: They'll all be in the Bay Area or the LA area.
- 10:54Speaker 2: Fewer than an Orange County, although Orange County is becoming
- 10:56Speaker 2: pretty per pretty purply.
- 11:00Speaker 3: Yeah, that's right. Has been going on for a while.
- 11:02Speaker 2: Yeah, pretty purply peck of Pepper's Peter is going to.
- 11:07Speaker 4: Vote some extra care for the kids. Open AI, the
- 11:12Speaker 4: maker of Chat GPT, has announced chat GPT Fourteens. So
- 11:19Speaker 4: now when kids go on to chat GPT, if they're
- 11:24Speaker 4: between the ages of thirteen and seventeen, they will automatically
- 11:28Speaker 4: be placed into the teen experience, which will include quizzes,
- 11:34Speaker 4: homework reminders, study mode, learning visualizations, and also safety tools
- 11:40Speaker 4: including reducing exposure to sensitive, potentially harmful content and also
- 11:45Speaker 4: limiting the amount of time that teams can our teens
- 11:49Speaker 4: can spend on chat GPT.
- 11:52Speaker 2: So my question is, is this anticipatory before the accusation start.
- 11:59Speaker 2: Will hitting chat GBT and the AI algorithms g you're
- 12:05Speaker 2: going after kids? You sat and developed programs for kids
- 12:09Speaker 2: like the Big Ones. There's the trial going on against
- 12:14Speaker 2: MAD and I think it's made specifically the argument Yeah, yeah,
- 12:19Speaker 2: do that, okay, but anyway, the argument is specifically went
- 12:23Speaker 2: after young people. Who doesn't believe that. Of course they
- 12:27Speaker 2: went after young people. You tell me they don't have
- 12:30Speaker 2: meetings or didn't have meetings. Okay, how do we go
- 12:33Speaker 2: after this demographic and they all sit around we're talking
- 12:36Speaker 2: about the hanchos who make the decisions. Okay, what can
- 12:39Speaker 2: we do to grab kids? What can we do to
- 12:41Speaker 2: grab teens? What can we do to grab this demographic
- 12:45Speaker 2: or that demographic? I mean, I would think that it
- 12:47Speaker 2: goes so far as what do we do to grab
- 12:50Speaker 2: I don't know hermaphrodites. What is it that we can do?
- 12:53Speaker 2: I believe that every single demographic group group is gone
- 12:57Speaker 2: after the companies go after or develop programs. So you know,
- 13:03Speaker 2: I'm it's easy for chat GPT to figure out who's
- 13:06Speaker 2: between thirteen and seventeen. The other one is simply just
- 13:09Speaker 2: say are you thirteen or are you seventeen? If you
- 13:11Speaker 2: answer yes, you're an adult already. But with them open
- 13:15Speaker 2: AI or chat GPT and other AI programs, you can
- 13:19Speaker 2: do it. But I find that interesting that now, and
- 13:22Speaker 2: what are they not going to say? I guess you
- 13:25Speaker 2: can't get porno. I guess you can't get some political
- 13:29Speaker 2: you know, political statements. I don't know the answer to that.
- 13:32Speaker 5: Okay, your city council in Los Angeles hates you if
- 13:38Speaker 5: you have a job. The Los Angeles City Council has
- 13:42Speaker 5: rescinded camping bands on dozens of locations in Hollywood, Echo
- 13:48Speaker 5: Park and silver Lake, Oh Joy urging the other council
- 13:55Speaker 5: members who called the bands ineffective. Basically, you've got Hugo
- 14:02Speaker 5: council member Hugo Soto Martinez asking his colleagues to remove
- 14:08Speaker 5: the camping band. The camping band was set up by
- 14:11Speaker 5: his predecessor before he left, and so now you're going
- 14:18Speaker 5: to have more and more. And the fun part is
- 14:21Speaker 5: if they don't. This was ten to three, by the way,
- 14:24Speaker 5: you had council members Tracy Parks, Monica Rodriguez, and there
- 14:30Speaker 5: was one more thank you that said this is ridiculous
- 14:36Speaker 5: and it's going backwards and there's no protections for either
- 14:40Speaker 5: them or for the regular people.
- 14:45Speaker 2: Both sides have an argument because the people that have
- 14:49Speaker 2: those that voted to rescind the bands are saying, where
- 14:53Speaker 2: do you put these people? You stop them here and
- 14:56Speaker 2: they just go someplace else.
- 14:57Speaker 5: Yes, So in reverse, if you allow them in some
- 15:01Speaker 5: places not others, they're all.
- 15:03Speaker 3: Going to come to the East Side exactly.
- 15:07Speaker 2: And you know, have you seen those have you seen
- 15:10Speaker 2: those signs that you go into these camping uh these
- 15:13Speaker 2: various campsites to say happy homelessness.
- 15:16Speaker 3: Oh boy, home not home. Suite, not home.
- 15:21Speaker 2: Yeah, So anyway, they have a point and where do
- 15:23Speaker 2: they go? Now, of course the answer is what what
- 15:26Speaker 2: is the ultimate answer? We have to give them housing.
- 15:28Speaker 2: We have to provide housing for all the homeless people.
- 15:31Speaker 3: It's not a housing issue.
- 15:33Speaker 5: Many are walking in the middle of the street cracked
- 15:36Speaker 5: out of their mind.
- 15:38Speaker 3: They don't need a house, they need treatment.
- 15:40Speaker 2: Understood. But when I'm saying the treatment center, what fine?
- 15:44Speaker 2: You put them in the treatment center and all we
- 15:46Speaker 2: have to do is pay for it. And how many
- 15:48Speaker 2: people have to pay for it?
- 15:50Speaker 4: Uh?
- 15:50Speaker 2: Not No, it's nothing like you have someone on the
- 15:53Speaker 2: street that decides, uh, the sidewalk in front of your
- 15:56Speaker 2: house is a toilet. That person is a lot more
- 16:01Speaker 2: expensive to Howe's than just having someone come in and cleaned.
- 16:05Speaker 5: Aside that point, that's an animal. They're fairer humans.
- 16:09Speaker 3: All right.
- 16:09Speaker 2: We could go on forever on that one, but there's
- 16:12Speaker 2: no easy answer other than there is an easy answer,
- 16:15Speaker 2: and that is to spend ungodly amounts of money to
- 16:19Speaker 2: put this on the front burder to the extent that
- 16:22Speaker 2: you don't have any money for any other city services.
- 16:28Speaker 4: Caught in the crossfire conviction A jury in La County
- 16:34Speaker 4: has convicted Where to Go Oh Gene Atkins of second
- 16:41Speaker 4: degree murder. He is the one that prosecutors say was
- 16:45Speaker 4: responsible for the police chase in twenty eighteen that ended
- 16:51Speaker 4: with a shootout between Atkins and police, and it killed
- 16:56Speaker 4: a Trader Joe's store manager at the Silver Lakes store.
- 17:00Speaker 4: The jury found that although Atkins didn't fire the bullet
- 17:03Speaker 4: that killed Melly Carrado, his actions provoked the gun battle
- 17:08Speaker 4: with police. One of the rounds fired by an Lped
- 17:11Speaker 4: officer is the one that hit and killed her inside
- 17:15Speaker 4: the store.
- 17:16Speaker 2: Now, remind me as to what happened. I know Atkins
- 17:21Speaker 2: ran out of the Trader Joe's. Yes, he had had
- 17:23Speaker 2: hostages inside, and I think he may have even shot
- 17:26Speaker 2: one or two of them when he came running out
- 17:28Speaker 2: of the store. Was he armed and shooting?
- 17:33Speaker 4: They exchanged gunfire, so I.
- 17:35Speaker 2: Mean, well, okay, so he had a weapon, and whether
- 17:38Speaker 2: he shot at first or not, of course someone running
- 17:41Speaker 2: out with a weapon, yeah, they were going.
- 17:42Speaker 5: But he ran in there after killing his grandmother or
- 17:45Speaker 5: something or shooting his grandmother and something else, and then
- 17:47Speaker 5: drove in there, hit a post and had to get
- 17:52Speaker 5: out of the car during the chase and he ran
- 17:55Speaker 5: into Trader Joe's there in Silver Lake and then.
- 17:59Speaker 2: Yes, he ran out and shot. Yeah. And what they
- 18:03Speaker 2: got him on is the felony murder rule, and that
- 18:08Speaker 2: is if someone dies during the commission of a crime,
- 18:13Speaker 2: a felony, then you're responsible. Yes, it's not like it
- 18:17Speaker 2: doesn't matter if you pull it. It doesn't matter if
- 18:19Speaker 2: you pull the trigger or not. So it was appropriate
- 18:22Speaker 2: for him to have gotten the guilty verdict.
- 18:27Speaker 5: We've been hearing a lot about the USS Lincoln. Now
- 18:31Speaker 5: we're hearing about the USS Benfold. The guided missile destroyer
- 18:36Speaker 5: spent four days without power last month after a problem
- 18:39Speaker 5: with its engineering, according to a spokesperson there of then
- 18:44Speaker 5: eighty seventh Fleet, so Commander Matthew Comer was the spokesman.
- 18:49Speaker 5: Spokesperson said there was no injuries to the crew, but
- 18:53Speaker 5: the loss of power impack did a ton of things plumbing, meals, toilets,
- 18:58Speaker 5: air conditioning aboard the ship. The issue has all but
- 19:01Speaker 5: fixed and they weren't sitting ducks out there. They had
- 19:06Speaker 5: during all these poor conditions. Located there in the South
- 19:10Speaker 5: China Sea, they had air and the like supporting them
- 19:16Speaker 5: to make sure that they weren't just sitting ducks there,
- 19:18Speaker 5: but this is another case of their being probably on
- 19:22Speaker 5: one of these ships.
- 19:23Speaker 2: What does story have even gone to the forefront? Would
- 19:26Speaker 2: we even have heard of this story? But for what
- 19:28Speaker 2: happened on the USS Lincoln, the aircraft carrier. You got
- 19:32Speaker 2: a ship that loses power for four days? Okay, now what?
- 19:36Speaker 2: And it loses power, doesn't have toilets working, doesn't have
- 19:41Speaker 2: air conditioning. It's a god alphame x mess. They fix
- 19:44Speaker 2: it within four days. And now what it's a story? Oh,
- 19:48Speaker 2: I'm sure it's never happened before, right, where a ship
- 19:51Speaker 2: loses power? How many hundreds of ships do we have
- 19:54Speaker 2: floating around out there?
- 19:56Speaker 3: Well?
- 19:56Speaker 5: At least does it mean that we need more money
- 19:59Speaker 5: for the military to upgrade some of these ships?
- 20:02Speaker 2: Yeah? Like yeah, fixing them when something goes south?
- 20:06Speaker 3: Uh?
- 20:06Speaker 2: No, you fix them? I don't.
- 20:08Speaker 3: I don't see I'm seated.
- 20:09Speaker 2: I don't see the story here at all. But for
- 20:12Speaker 2: what happened on the aircraft carrier? Do you agree, Amy? Uh?
- 20:18Speaker 4: I do agree. I'm sure that this happens. I'm sure
- 20:21Speaker 4: that this happens. Like you said, there are hundreds and
- 20:25Speaker 4: hundreds of ships out.
- 20:27Speaker 3: There, and they're moving cities.
- 20:29Speaker 2: I mean they're yeah, well the big, the big aircraft
- 20:31Speaker 2: carriers are some only have two three hundred people aboard.
- 20:35Speaker 2: And it's not a movie city aircraft carriers.
- 20:39Speaker 4: This was a guided missile destroyer. How many people do
- 20:41Speaker 4: they have in there?
- 20:42Speaker 2: I think a couple of hundred to three hundred maybe.
- 20:44Speaker 4: And they usually travel around in packs.
- 20:47Speaker 2: Right, this is part of the task force.
- 20:49Speaker 4: Yeah, So I think that even though it was stranded,
- 20:52Speaker 4: it was not like they were all alone at sea.
- 20:54Speaker 2: Well, they knew the toilets weren't working. When if you
- 20:57Speaker 2: took para binoculars, you saw a lot of say that
- 21:00Speaker 2: were mooning and we're over the side of the ship.
- 21:04Speaker 2: And I'll never mind. It's a visual amy, it's a visual.
- 21:08Speaker 4: It's a bad one. Vandals are at it again in DC,
- 21:14Speaker 4: at least that's according to the President. Trump said on
- 21:18Speaker 4: truth social that vandals are to blame for large patches
- 21:23Speaker 4: of dead grass on the National Mall near the World
- 21:26Speaker 4: War II Memorial. He neglected to say that that was
- 21:29Speaker 4: the same spot where the crowds were for that July
- 21:34Speaker 4: fourth celebration. He did post a photo showing a once
- 21:38Speaker 4: grassy area by the World War II memorial now patchy
- 21:41Speaker 4: and brown across much of the turf. He said, look
- 21:45Speaker 4: at what vandals did to the grass connecting the vandalized
- 21:48Speaker 4: World War II monument and the vandalized reflecting pool, which
- 21:52Speaker 4: will be opened again and better than ever shortly.
- 21:56Speaker 2: Why can't he just say this is where we had
- 21:59Speaker 2: our event and the grass was affected, like every time
- 22:04Speaker 2: you have thousands of people trampling on grass, there have
- 22:09Speaker 2: to be vandals. Of course, no evidence whatsoever, I mean,
- 22:12Speaker 2: zero evidence that there was. I don't understand why. I
- 22:17Speaker 2: guess he takes a personal affront to anything that happens.
- 22:23Speaker 2: I just don't get it.
- 22:26Speaker 5: It's twenty twenty six and the President of the United
- 22:29Speaker 5: States basically just came out of the White House and said,
- 22:32Speaker 5: you guys, get off my lawn.
- 22:36Speaker 3: That's where we're at.
- 22:38Speaker 2: It's just it's crazy. It really is.
- 22:40Speaker 5: Everything else going on in the world, this story is
- 22:45Speaker 5: horrible for those who use this service. You had a
- 22:48Speaker 5: Westside childcare there in UCLA, infant toddlers, all of this
- 22:55Speaker 5: parents that worked at UCLA to university run childcare centers,
- 23:02Speaker 5: serving about two hundred and twenty children, all almost all
- 23:06Speaker 5: of them UCLA staff and faculty. Or students. They're going
- 23:11Speaker 5: to be closing this next year, and the university declined
- 23:16Speaker 5: to say how much money closing.
- 23:17Speaker 3: The centers would say, but apparently it's gotten too expensive.
- 23:26Speaker 2: Three thousand dollars a month some people are paying. And
- 23:28Speaker 2: this is We've done this story after story about how parents.
- 23:32Speaker 2: One of the parents no longer works because the daycare
- 23:36Speaker 2: is more money, costs more money than the parent is
- 23:39Speaker 2: bringing in, so they stay at home. You know, one
- 23:43Speaker 2: of them stay at home, and not by a choice,
- 23:45Speaker 2: because they they have no choice. And there's an answer
- 23:49Speaker 2: that no one is actually picking this up. You know
- 23:50Speaker 2: what's much cheaper, which I found out when my little
- 23:54Speaker 2: ones were little, and that's putting him into doggy daycare centers.
- 23:58Speaker 2: That and they get pets to play with incidantly, and
- 24:01Speaker 2: they get lunch, and they get lunch. No granted lunch
- 24:04Speaker 2: is not exactly what they would like, but it's it's
- 24:08Speaker 2: a much it's a much less expensive way of dealing
- 24:11Speaker 2: with the kids during the day.
- 24:12Speaker 3: And they eat kibbled to this day snack bags.
- 24:17Speaker 2: Yeah, and you go. We when we play, I just
- 24:19Speaker 2: throw a little toy and they run across the room
- 24:21Speaker 2: and grab it with their mouths and back we go.
- 24:23Speaker 2: It's it's it's yeah, very cheap around holiday time in
- 24:27Speaker 2: terms of the gifts, okay.
- 24:29Speaker 4: Looking for someone to lash out at. Following Hayden Penetier's
- 24:34Speaker 4: shocking death, fans are resurfacing some of the career revelations
- 24:40Speaker 4: she talked about in her book, and that included her
- 24:44Speaker 4: allegation that nut Regina attempted to end their longtime partnership
- 24:49Speaker 4: after Hayden spoke out about her postpartum depression.
- 24:55Speaker 2: How dare new Strogena do that? I mean, I am
- 24:59Speaker 2: so offended? Did that a corporation decided that they don't
- 25:03Speaker 2: want a spokesperson anymore who has decided to go public
- 25:07Speaker 2: about postpartum depression? As if, gee, we really don't want
- 25:11Speaker 2: people to concentrate on that or to bring that up
- 25:15Speaker 2: when we sell you nutrigy Ina products. Come on, guys,
- 25:20Speaker 2: what are corporations allowed to do? What corporations do higher
- 25:23Speaker 2: not hire get rid of spokespeople for whatever reason? I
- 25:30Speaker 2: how woke is that? Explain that to me? No, you won't, Amy,
- 25:36Speaker 2: you can't. I get that you're a newsperson. I understand, so,
- 25:40Speaker 2: Neil Neutrigina, you use a lot of new Regia products.
- 25:44Speaker 2: That's why your face looks so clean and wonderful. That's true.
- 25:49Speaker 2: You use dewey and fresh it is now his face
- 25:52Speaker 2: used to look like a pepperoni pizza, had a lot
- 25:54Speaker 2: of zits. I had a lot of No, now it's new.
- 25:58Speaker 5: But when you're selling a that's primarily to women and
- 26:02Speaker 5: then a woman comes forward and talks about women specific things.
- 26:07Speaker 3: Yeah, I could see some pushback.
- 26:09Speaker 2: Oh yeah, whose choice is it? I mean, I love this,
- 26:13Speaker 2: so women are in an uproar about it. You pointed
- 26:16Speaker 2: to Georgina, you should keep her on and will decide
- 26:20Speaker 2: for you.
- 26:22Speaker 5: Huh Oh that's for democratic socialists to do.
- 26:27Speaker 2: Okay, all right?
- 26:29Speaker 5: Costco, Yes, sir, listen, you're gonna you're gonna wake up
- 26:34Speaker 5: one morning and never have to go anywhere else in
- 26:37Speaker 5: your life except Costco because you know they now sell
- 26:43Speaker 5: its dedicated members, which is just about all of us
- 26:46Speaker 5: on the show. I think everything from travel packages, which
- 26:49Speaker 5: we've seen gas in some locations. Now the retail giant
- 26:53Speaker 5: is gearing up to enter a huge new market of medicare.
- 26:58Speaker 5: You'll be able to uh get Costco branded medicare care plans.
- 27:04Speaker 5: Now they're working with Ski.
- 27:06Speaker 2: Yeah, these are the administrators of Medicare. I mean it's
- 27:09Speaker 2: not the actual Medicare insurance the government gives you, but
- 27:12Speaker 2: it's the uh uh yeah. The administrators make a lot
- 27:15Speaker 2: of money doing this. So did you ever go past, Yeah,
- 27:19Speaker 2: of course that was at Costco. Am I doing it today? No,
- 27:21Speaker 2: probably tomorrow. But as you you're exiting Costco, all those
- 27:26Speaker 2: signs are up there about redoing your air conditioning, putting
- 27:29Speaker 2: in new windows, new cabinets, new kitchens, And as you're
- 27:33Speaker 2: going past, someone is sitting there going, hey, you're thinking
- 27:37Speaker 2: about a new air conditioning system. Uh yeah, Oh I
- 27:40Speaker 2: think I'll buy one today, you know, on my way
- 27:43Speaker 2: out of the store. But I guess it works.
- 27:46Speaker 3: Well yeah, oh yes, all right.
- 27:49Speaker 2: Well Costco knows what it's doing now. If they were
- 27:52Speaker 2: to say we have a new burrito man, I'd go crazy.
- 27:56Speaker 4: Not keeping very good company. A former floor you're a
- 28:00Speaker 4: lawmaker and a political ally of Governor Ron DeSantis has
- 28:04Speaker 4: been arrested and accused of molesting a young boy at
- 28:07Speaker 4: the child's home, on fishing excursions and while on a
- 28:10Speaker 4: family cruise. In response, after the arrest was announced to
- 28:15Speaker 4: Santas suspended, sixty seven year old Michael Caruso from his
- 28:19Speaker 4: post as Palm Beach County's Clerk of Courts and Controller,
- 28:23Speaker 4: and noted in an executive order that allegations include loud
- 28:27Speaker 4: or lascivious molestation, lud or lacivious exhibition, kidnapping, child abuse,
- 28:33Speaker 4: causing mental injury, and luring or enticing a child.
- 28:37Speaker 2: Yeah, you're not going to hear the defense consensual that
- 28:40Speaker 2: you're not going to hear. And I don't think you're
- 28:43Speaker 2: going to hear innocent until proven guilty, not with these allegations.
- 28:47Speaker 2: And so Desanta said, it was an easy call for
- 28:49Speaker 2: me to make to bail him out of there, which
- 28:52Speaker 2: makes sense.
- 28:54Speaker 3: All right.
- 28:55Speaker 5: Historic preservationists just yesterday asked the court to keep President
- 29:01Speaker 5: Donald Trump's balls ballroom sorry yea, his ball construction on
- 29:06Speaker 5: hold while litigation plays out. So look at this is
- 29:12Speaker 5: crazy pushing the can down.
- 29:14Speaker 2: Yeah, well, here's here's what he does.
- 29:16Speaker 4: Right.
- 29:17Speaker 2: He starts the ballroom going, which from day one, the
- 29:23Speaker 2: preservationists and various other groups are saying you can't do
- 29:27Speaker 2: that without congressional approval, and here's the law. He goes
- 29:31Speaker 2: anyway and does it, and then you have the lower
- 29:34Speaker 2: court saying you can't do it, puts a stop to it.
- 29:36Speaker 2: The appeals court says, you can't do it, puts a
- 29:39Speaker 2: stop to it. He keeps on doing it. They keep
- 29:42Speaker 2: on construction, and now in front of the Supreme Court,
- 29:45Speaker 2: the President is saying, hey, we're so into it that
- 29:51Speaker 2: you have to let us finish it. You can't stop
- 29:53Speaker 2: at midway. That's like a kid who has murder his
- 29:56Speaker 2: parents and asking for the murder, asking for the mercy
- 29:59Speaker 2: of because he's an orphan. You can't do that. I'm
- 30:05Speaker 2: an orphan, but you killed your parents. Yeah, but still
- 30:07Speaker 2: makes me an orphan. So it's it's great. We're gonna
- 30:13Speaker 2: get that ballroom. I mean, there's no question we're gonna
- 30:14Speaker 2: get that big, beautiful ballroom. And there will be they'll
- 30:19Speaker 2: hold the ball there and we're gonna go back to
- 30:22Speaker 2: Trump's balls to the wall and it's going to happen.
- 30:26Speaker 2: Is it gold? Is there enough gold in there? Enough guilt?
- 30:30Speaker 2: G I L T is there? It's just it's okay.
- 30:38Speaker 2: I think once Trump went to an Iranian whorehouse and said,
- 30:41Speaker 2: that's the way I want to I want my my
- 30:43Speaker 2: house and my everything that I deal with to look
- 30:47Speaker 2: like by the way, for those who are Iranian who
- 30:50Speaker 2: have run whorehouses. I do apologize to the Iranian whoorhouse owners.
- 30:55Speaker 2: That's a horrible thing to say. Okay, are we done?
- 31:00Speaker 3: You have a lot of them listening.
- 31:01Speaker 2: I'm sure not anymore. Okay, we are done, guys coming
- 31:08Speaker 2: out the war in Iran, which is not a war,
- 31:11Speaker 2: which keeps on being a war. But wait a minute,
- 31:13Speaker 2: we're in it. We're not in it. The strait is open, No,
- 31:15Speaker 2: it's not as closed. And so I'll give you the
- 31:18Speaker 2: latest on that because it's always fun. This is KFI
- 31:21Speaker 2: Am sixty. You've been listening to the Bill Handle Show.
