- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Hello, Christians.
- 0:02SPEAKER_00: This is Dallas Beecham.
- 0:04SPEAKER_00: Stand by for good news.
- 0:08SPEAKER_00: America did not begin with perfect men, but it did begin with men who believed in God, men who honored scripture, men who understood that freedom comes from the God in heaven.
- 0:23SPEAKER_00: Today many people try to rewrite history.
- 0:27SPEAKER_00: They say the founders were secular.
- 0:30SPEAKER_00: They say they were not religious.
- 0:32SPEAKER_00: They say they wanted a nation without God.
- 0:36SPEAKER_00: But the record is clear.
- 0:38SPEAKER_00: The evidence is strong, and the truth is simple.
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: Many of America's founders were men shaped by Scripture.
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: George Washington, our first president, a man of prayer, a man of reverence, a man who said it was impossible to govern the world without God and the Bible.
- 1:01SPEAKER_00: Washington prayed daily.
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: He carried a prayer book.
- 1:06SPEAKER_00: He asked for God's guidance.
- 1:09SPEAKER_00: He believed the nation needed God to survive.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: John Adams was our second president.
- 1:16SPEAKER_00: He said the Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: He said it was wholly inadequate for any other kind.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: Adams believed freedom required virtue and virtue required God.
- 1:34SPEAKER_00: Samuel Adams was a leader of the revolution.
- 1:39SPEAKER_00: He called America a Christian nation.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: He believed the gospel was the foundation of liberty.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: He believed the Bible was the anchor of morality.
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: And then there was Patrick Henry, the man who said give me liberty or give me death.
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: He also said that our nation was founded on the gospel of Jesus Christ, not on human wisdom, not on human philosophy, but on the truth of God.
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: These men were not pastors, they were not preachers, they were leaders, but they believed something powerful.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: They believed freedom.
- 2:22SPEAKER_00: They believed freedom comes from God, not from government.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: The Bible says blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: The founders believed that.
- 2:34SPEAKER_00: They honored that.
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: They built a nation where God could be acknowledged without fear.
- 2:41SPEAKER_00: Even those who were not deeply religious still believe morality comes from Scripture.
- 2:49SPEAKER_00: They believed the Bible.
- 2:51SPEAKER_00: They believed it was essential to the conscience of the nation.
- 2:55SPEAKER_00: They believed the church.
- 2:57SPEAKER_00: They believed it was essential to the strength of the people.
- 3:01SPEAKER_00: Today many voices try to erase this truth.
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: They try to remove God from history.
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: They try to silence the faith that was the founders.
- 3:13SPEAKER_00: They try to pretend America began as a secular experiment, but it did not.
- 3:21SPEAKER_00: America began as a nation shaped by Scripture, a nation influenced by believers, a nation guided by men and honored by the Lord.
- 3:34SPEAKER_00: And as we continue this series, we remember something very important.
- 3:41SPEAKER_00: Freedom is not an accident, it is not coincidence, it is a blessing, a blessing that came because men believed in God and built a nation on biblical truth, and we should say this plainly.
- 3:58SPEAKER_00: Remembering these men is not about worshiping the founders, it is about telling the truth.
- 4:06SPEAKER_00: They were men with faults, but they also understood that a nation cannot rise higher than its view of God.
- 4:15SPEAKER_00: They knew laws alone could not save a people, courts alone could not preserve liberty.
- 4:23SPEAKER_00: Elections alone could not make a nation righteous.
- 4:27SPEAKER_00: The heart had to be shaped by truth.
- 4:30SPEAKER_00: The conscience had to be instructed by Scripture, and the people had to remember that freedom without faith becomes fragile.
- 4:42SPEAKER_00: That is why this history matters.
- 4:45SPEAKER_00: It teaches us humility, it teaches us gratitude, and it teaches us that every generation must decide whether it will honor God or forget Him.
- 4:59SPEAKER_00: I hope this message today causes you to think, and I also hope that it causes you to have a good day.
