East Garner Road in Wake County is shutting down for through traffic July 13th—except for locals with homes or businesses there. Everyone else gets rerouted via Auburn Knightdale and Rock Quarry Roads. The closure is part of a road realignment to bring East Garner Road closer to the railroad, allowing it to cross N.C. 540 on a single bridge—saving money on construction and maintenance.
