- 0:08Speaker 1: Podcast.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Welcome to Meat Eater Trivia, the only game show where
- 0:13Speaker 2: conservation always wins. I'm your host, Spencer new Arth, and
- 0:16Speaker 2: today we're joined by Jannis Poutellis, Brody Henderson, Alyssa Smith,
- 0:21Speaker 2: Hayden Samok, Corey Culkin's logan Dove Mackenzie Elmquist and Austin
- 0:26Speaker 2: kleeberad or Chili Now, Chili, this is your first time?
- 0:35Speaker 2: What is it? It's clever Ad, clever Rad. I'm with a.
- 0:39Speaker 2: That's all right, clever rat. That's why we call you
- 0:41Speaker 2: Chili Chili. Tell folks what you do here at meat Eater.
- 0:45Speaker 3: I am the property and equipment manager and I also
- 0:48Speaker 3: do a little bit of IT work and.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Did some I work for me today. I did, Yeah,
- 0:53Speaker 2: what did you do for Brody wuld like make the
- 0:54Speaker 2: font big on his phone? It's already is already look at.
- 1:06Speaker 1: His phone on the screen.
- 1:09Speaker 2: What was the IT help for people?
- 1:10Speaker 1: Oh?
- 1:10Speaker 4: I just basically gave him access to all the files
- 1:13Speaker 4: a meter so he can do whatever he needs to do.
- 1:16Speaker 2: Remember that he knew the property management stuff. This is
- 1:20Speaker 2: the last episode in this podcast studio.
- 1:23Speaker 1: That's correct?
- 1:24Speaker 5: Is Meat Eater are gonna let you go after this?
- 1:25Speaker 2: Project's done, you think, I think, So what use do
- 1:28Speaker 2: they have for you after after this is open?
- 1:30Speaker 6: You haven't been in the new office. There's a lot
- 1:32Speaker 6: of use.
- 1:32Speaker 2: Okay, Okay, so clock's not taken quite yet, I hope not.
- 1:36Speaker 1: Okay, that's a great job.
- 1:37Speaker 7: Now.
- 1:38Speaker 2: If you're not familiar, This is a ten round quiz
- 1:40Speaker 2: show with questions from meat Eater's four verticals, which are hunting, fishing, conservation,
- 1:44Speaker 2: and cooking, and there is a prize. Meat Eater will
- 1:46Speaker 2: donate five hundred dollars to the conservation organization of the
- 1:50Speaker 2: winners choosing and each week you're on Trivia, we reveal
- 1:53Speaker 2: a new stat This week we're looking at the question
- 1:56Speaker 2: breakdown by category. So far, there have been six hundred
- 2:00Speaker 2: thirty questions asked on this podcast. The breakdown for those
- 2:04Speaker 2: is thirty seven percent have been conservation, twenty five percent
- 2:08Speaker 2: have been hunting, twenty percent have been fishing, and eighteen
- 2:11Speaker 2: percent have been cooking. The conservation category is disproportionately higher
- 2:17Speaker 2: because it tends to be a catch all for things
- 2:19Speaker 2: that aren't directly tied to the other three verticals, like
- 2:22Speaker 2: bad TV shows. Bad TV shows, Sure, yep, all that stuff.
- 2:26Speaker 2: Rody doesn't like that usually gets lumped into thirty seven percent.
- 2:29Speaker 6: I think you should conservation categories.
- 2:32Speaker 2: And for the housekeeping portion of today's show, I'm going
- 2:36Speaker 2: to answer some FAQs about the Shelby Index. Now, the
- 2:39Speaker 2: Shelby Index is a barometer that I use to determine
- 2:42Speaker 2: how tough a batch of questions for trivia is. I
- 2:46Speaker 2: asked these questions to my wife the night before each show,
- 2:48Speaker 2: and usually she gets about half as many right as
- 2:51Speaker 2: the winner. And we actually had a stat on episode
- 2:54Speaker 2: four to two four that proved this to be true. Anyway,
- 2:57Speaker 2: I get a lot of questions about the Shelby Index,
- 2:59Speaker 2: and I'll do my best to answer them. Now, question,
- 3:01Speaker 2: how does Shelby get half points?
- 3:04Speaker 8: Answer?
- 3:04Speaker 2: Because I'm a good husband. If there's a question where
- 3:07Speaker 2: you have to provide multiple answers and she gets half
- 3:10Speaker 2: of the right answers, then she often rewards herself with
- 3:13Speaker 2: half of a point, and I don't argue. Plus, I'd
- 3:16Speaker 2: like that it adds some diversity to the Shelby Index.
- 3:19Speaker 2: Question does the Shelby Index ever change the game? Answer? Sometimes.
- 3:24Speaker 2: I think the sweet spot for an episode is when
- 3:26Speaker 2: the Shelby Index is between three and five. If she
- 3:30Speaker 2: gets less than or more than that, I'll often reword
- 3:33Speaker 2: questions or change them all together to create a more
- 3:37Speaker 2: competitive episode.
- 3:38Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't ever remember the Shelby index being anything
- 3:41Speaker 3: but between.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Three and five. Hold on, we got another thing coming
- 3:44Speaker 2: up here. Question Can you tell us which questions Shelby
- 3:48Speaker 2: gets right? Answer? No, Here's why I know these jackals
- 3:52Speaker 2: in the room will use that to their advantage. For example,
- 3:55Speaker 2: if the Shelby index is three and she has only
- 3:58Speaker 2: gotten two right going into the final question, then our
- 4:01Speaker 2: players would know that their answer should try to match Shelby's.
- 4:05Speaker 2: For that reason, I'm going to keep her correct answers
- 4:07Speaker 2: A mystery that seems like something you do, Brody, Right,
- 4:10Speaker 2: If you knew that you had to like match Shelby's
- 4:13Speaker 2: answer on question you revealed her answer. That's well, if
- 4:16Speaker 2: I told you which one she got right right, So
- 4:19Speaker 2: the Shelby inex was three and at question ten she
- 4:21Speaker 2: only has two right, so you know that your answer
- 4:24Speaker 2: to be correct would have to match what she said.
- 4:28Speaker 3: I don't know that that would affect I think it
- 4:31Speaker 3: was because I wouldn't know what her answer was in
- 4:34Speaker 3: the first place.
- 4:35Speaker 2: Sure, but I think you could. It would help inform
- 4:39Speaker 2: your answer because you're like, Okay, uh, this person who
- 4:42Speaker 2: isn't very familiar with the subject matter.
- 4:46Speaker 1: I think.
- 4:48Speaker 2: The question. Has Shelby ever won a game? Answer yes.
- 4:52Speaker 2: On episode three eighty eight, the Shelby Index was six.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Brody and Joannis also got six points in that game
- 5:00Speaker 2: and went to a tiebreaker. The question was in the
- 5:02Speaker 2: tiebreaker what percentage of American women had fished within the
- 5:06Speaker 2: last year. Brody said twenty two point seven percent and
- 5:10Speaker 2: Giannis said twenty point one percent. The correct answer was
- 5:13Speaker 2: seven percent. And when I got home after that episode,
- 5:16Speaker 2: I asked my wife the same question and her answer
- 5:19Speaker 2: was nine percent, which would have made her the winner.
- 5:22Speaker 6: I still think you're wrong.
- 5:23Speaker 2: So that would mean that my wife, who hasn't shot
- 5:26Speaker 2: a deer caught a fish since twenty sixteen, was once
- 5:29Speaker 2: victorious over some of the world's best hunters and anglers.
- 5:33Speaker 3: She caught you, guys, once you know what I was
- 5:35Speaker 3: wondering about the Shelby Index, And maybe you've done this,
- 5:38Speaker 3: but I don't think you have. You should figure out
- 5:40Speaker 3: who who beats the Shelby Index, like, exceeds the Shelby
- 5:47Speaker 3: Index the most and.
- 5:48Speaker 2: By how much? Okay, we could do that sometime. I'd
- 5:51Speaker 2: like to try to avoid hurt feelings in the stance
- 5:54Speaker 2: we could have people.
- 5:55Speaker 1: What do you mean all the stats hurt feelings are they?
- 5:59Speaker 2: Yeah? Well, I try to try to lift you up
- 6:01Speaker 2: for the most part of.
- 6:05Speaker 6: The three against the Shelby index or something like. I
- 6:08Speaker 6: don't know.
- 6:09Speaker 3: We could figure would that just be who wins the most?
- 6:14Speaker 1: Brodie just wants more accolades?
- 6:16Speaker 3: No, I just want to know.
- 6:18Speaker 2: We'll keep exploring the Shelby Index.
- 6:20Speaker 5: Speaking of Shelby, who's the bigger swiftye her or you?
- 6:26Speaker 2: I would say it's equal. We inform each other's uh swiftness,
- 6:30Speaker 2: but usually swift. You would be a fan of Taylor Swift.
- 6:33Speaker 2: I'm just siphoning off of somebody else.
- 6:35Speaker 6: It took me a while to catch up to what
- 6:37Speaker 6: was going on there.
- 6:38Speaker 2: I'm less of a fan of Taylor Swift, and I'm
- 6:41Speaker 2: more interested in the fandom that follows her. It's like
- 6:43Speaker 2: the most feverish fandom I've ever witnessed. As someone who
- 6:47Speaker 2: likes a lot of sports and TV shows and often
- 6:50Speaker 2: gets like a deep dive into those things, the Swifty
- 6:54Speaker 2: universe is another thing, right, Phil.
- 6:57Speaker 8: Yes, and you're Yeah, yeah, you're you're asking me because
- 6:59Speaker 8: we've had conversations about Taylor Swift in your kitchen before.
- 7:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:02Speaker 8: Yeah, you're a swift than too.
- 7:05Speaker 9: Wow, she spans such a broad range of age demographics.
- 7:10Speaker 8: Yeah, it's a universal challenge that she has.
- 7:12Speaker 9: Would say sell my girls that we should go, and
- 7:14Speaker 9: she's like, well, why the hell would you go? And
- 7:16Speaker 9: I was telling her probably I would go just as
- 7:17Speaker 9: much with the people watching as anything.
- 7:19Speaker 2: Like I said, we have we have the other Swifties
- 7:21Speaker 2: in the company, and I just like to talk to
- 7:23Speaker 2: them about the fandom and hear what they have to say.
- 7:25Speaker 2: Corey's wife is a huge swifty as well. Right, cool,
- 7:28Speaker 2: that's how this all came. Does that bleed over into
- 7:30Speaker 2: you Not so much? No, you don't consider yourself as swifty.
- 7:34Speaker 4: No, I'll let her play it in the drift boat
- 7:36Speaker 4: every once in a while, but man, reggae has to
- 7:40Speaker 4: overcome swifty.
- 7:42Speaker 9: Swift song came on my playlist while we were in
- 7:45Speaker 9: the car the other day and within seconds Corey had
- 7:48Speaker 9: hit the next But.
- 7:51Speaker 2: Yeah, Corey's wife was saying that your son is like, Mom,
- 7:55Speaker 2: can you not play this song anymore? You think it's
- 7:57Speaker 2: gotten to that level at home.
- 7:59Speaker 4: Right, yeah, a little bit, but then he'll play, you know,
- 8:01Speaker 4: like the teenage mutant Ninja Turtle song one hundred times
- 8:03Speaker 4: in a row, so evens out.
- 8:05Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess on the Shelby Index for today's round
- 8:09Speaker 2: is a four, so our winner should get eight correct answers.
- 8:12Speaker 2: And with that we're onto the game of trivia. Play
- 8:14Speaker 2: the drop, Phil, Look, I need to know what I
- 8:19Speaker 2: stay under?
- 8:19Speaker 1: Win everything?
- 8:22Speaker 2: How's that?
- 8:23Speaker 1: Just tend to win everything?
- 8:31Speaker 5: Gamon suckers.
- 8:34Speaker 2: Question one. The topic is cooking, and as always, this
- 8:37Speaker 2: will be multiple choice. Which of these foods was not
- 8:42Speaker 2: served at the First Thanksgiving? Is it passenger, pigeon potatoes,
- 8:48Speaker 2: eel or pumpkins? Which of these foods was not served
- 8:55Speaker 2: at the first Thanksgiving? Passenger, pigeon potatoes, eel or pumpkins.
- 9:02Speaker 2: Three of these things were at that first Thanksgiving. One
- 9:05Speaker 2: of them was not. How are we doing, Yannie? How
- 9:10Speaker 2: do you feel about your answer?
- 9:13Speaker 1: Educated guests?
- 9:13Speaker 2: Okay, how's the rest of the room doing, Brody? I
- 9:16Speaker 2: think we're waiting on.
- 9:16Speaker 1: You keep waiting.
- 9:19Speaker 2: I'm thinking, okay, do you have a narrow down at least?
- 9:23Speaker 4: No?
- 9:24Speaker 9: Oh, look at this cute little uh poem. Someone wrote
- 9:27Speaker 9: down here on the back of my board. Roses are red,
- 9:29Speaker 9: violets are blue. Brody sucks at trivia and Steve does too.
- 9:34Speaker 2: I don't know who wrote that one. I don't know
- 9:36Speaker 2: that specific poem. I think will be in the board
- 9:39Speaker 2: game as graffiti on the back of the whiteboards that
- 9:42Speaker 2: come with the game.
- 9:44Speaker 9: Yeah, you got any updates for us?
- 9:45Speaker 2: There not yet more to come soon. Brody, how are
- 9:48Speaker 2: we doing?
- 9:50Speaker 5: He's writing a novel?
- 9:51Speaker 9: I know, Hmmrod, he's writing poem.
- 9:59Speaker 6: I'm ready.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Go ahead and reveal your answers. We have Brody saying
- 10:04Speaker 2: passenger pigeon, Hayden saying pumpkins, Logan saying potatoes, Alyssa saying pumpkins,
- 10:11Speaker 2: Corey seeing potatoes, Mackenzie saying pumpkins, Giannis saying potatoes, Chili
- 10:17Speaker 2: saying pumpkins. The correct answer is potatoes.
- 10:21Speaker 8: Oh it is potato.
- 10:23Speaker 2: Potatoes were not there. Potatoes are native to South America
- 10:27Speaker 2: and hadn't yet made it to New England in sixteen
- 10:30Speaker 2: twenty one, but according to historians, they did eat roasted pumpkin,
- 10:34Speaker 2: boiled passenger pigeons, and smoked eel. If you want to
- 10:38Speaker 2: learn more about what was on the menu than read
- 10:40Speaker 2: my article in the Mediator dot com called the First
- 10:42Speaker 2: Thanksgiving wild Game Extinction and Stuffing. Question two, the topic
- 10:49Speaker 2: is hunting. You like that? Lots of unpack there? Question two,
- 10:53Speaker 2: the topic is hunting. This next great question comes to
- 10:55Speaker 2: is via Tom Tessman. If you have a question you
- 10:58Speaker 2: think is right for meat Eat Trivia, you can say
- 11:00Speaker 2: it to trivia at the medeater dot com. This state
- 11:03Speaker 2: hosted its first elk hunt in twenty twenty and first
- 11:07Speaker 2: black bear hunt in twenty twenty one. Some confident answers
- 11:13Speaker 2: in the room again, the question is this state hosted
- 11:17Speaker 2: its first el kunt in twenty twenty and first black
- 11:21Speaker 2: bear hunt in twenty twenty one. Yanni is not one
- 11:24Speaker 2: of the confident people. Brody is Brody? Do you have
- 11:27Speaker 2: this one right?
- 11:28Speaker 8: Almost?
- 11:29Speaker 2: Certainly? Okay, Your whole side of the table looks confident. Hayden,
- 11:32Speaker 2: you have this one right as well.
- 11:34Speaker 1: No, I'm thinking on it.
- 11:35Speaker 2: Okay. This state hosted its first elk hunt in twenty
- 11:40Speaker 2: twenty and first black bear hunt in twenty twenty one. Phil,
- 11:47Speaker 2: last episode in this studio, What's gonna be your fondest
- 11:50Speaker 2: memory when we move out here?
- 11:52Speaker 9: Out of here?
- 11:53Speaker 2: Is that it today?
- 11:55Speaker 8: Yeah, yes, today's the last day. I'm gonna miss Steve
- 11:58Speaker 8: complaining about not being able to hear half the time
- 12:00Speaker 8: and then realizing it's probably because he's dead. The train
- 12:04Speaker 8: we just heard it. That's why you asked, do.
- 12:06Speaker 2: We have a train at the next studio or now?
- 12:08Speaker 6: No train?
- 12:09Speaker 8: But here's the thing.
- 12:10Speaker 1: I mean, we don't think you could actually.
- 12:11Speaker 8: Hear the train on any of the recordings, but that's
- 12:13Speaker 8: that's an easter egg for all you listeners out there.
- 12:16Speaker 8: The train would roll by quite often.
- 12:17Speaker 2: Are you in charge of decorating?
- 12:20Speaker 8: Uh, you know, I'm gonna I'm gonna put that off
- 12:21Speaker 8: on Hayden. I think it's because he's got.
- 12:24Speaker 2: He's gonna it off on Chili. No.
- 12:25Speaker 8: No, because we're gonna be hanging up. We're gonna be
- 12:28Speaker 8: hanging up some furs. He might have a full bear mount.
- 12:31Speaker 7: Yeah, it's gonna be. We're gonna use a bear mount
- 12:33Speaker 7: as a bass track. We got that black velvet wall
- 12:35Speaker 7: we got to cover up. Oh no, I like it
- 12:37Speaker 7: with a coffin shape podcast table.
- 12:38Speaker 8: That's true.
- 12:39Speaker 7: It's gonna be like a goth rock music video set.
- 12:42Speaker 7: But we're going to do our best to yeah, undo
- 12:44Speaker 7: that perfect.
- 12:45Speaker 2: I think everyone's fondest memory will be what you said.
- 12:47Speaker 2: Moving on here, this is a cramped room to get
- 12:49Speaker 2: ten people in here for trivia, it's tight. Does everybody
- 12:53Speaker 2: have an answer for question too?
- 12:54Speaker 5: I just have a quick question, what do you mean
- 12:56Speaker 5: by hosted?
- 12:58Speaker 2: Steve Harvey came and yeah, like he gave out its
- 13:02Speaker 2: first tags that year for Elk in twenty twenty and
- 13:05Speaker 2: black bear in twenty twenty one.
- 13:09Speaker 5: Zero idea.
- 13:09Speaker 2: Everybody ready?
- 13:11Speaker 8: One to fift one?
- 13:12Speaker 5: I did go ahead and reveal your answers.
- 13:14Speaker 2: We have Brody sang Missouri, Hayden sang Missouri, Logan sang Pennsylvania,
- 13:20Speaker 2: and he crossed out Pennsylvania.
- 13:23Speaker 5: Pennsylvania is saying Virginia.
- 13:26Speaker 2: Corty sang Pennsylvania, Mackenzie sang California, Jannis sang Missouri, Chile
- 13:32Speaker 2: sang New York. The correct answer is Missouri. A few
- 13:37Speaker 2: folks got it. Nineteen thousand hunters applied for Missouri's first
- 13:42Speaker 2: five elk tags in twenty twenty. All five hunters were successful.
- 13:47Speaker 2: Six thousand hunters applied for Missouri's first four hundred bear
- 13:51Speaker 2: permits in twenty twenty one. The state capped the harvest
- 13:54Speaker 2: at forty but only had twelve killed over the nine
- 13:58Speaker 2: day season. Missouri can considered both inaugural seasons a huge success.
- 14:04Speaker 2: Question three, The topic is biology. According to the USGS,
- 14:09Speaker 2: this illness is fatal for sixty five percent of big
- 14:13Speaker 2: horn sheep that contract it. Again, the topic is biology.
- 14:19Speaker 2: According to the USGS, this illness is fatal for sixty
- 14:24Speaker 2: five percent of big horn sheep that contract it. Again,
- 14:28Speaker 2: A confident answer by Brody Giannis Slow to his board, Corey,
- 14:33Speaker 2: do you have this one right?
- 14:35Speaker 8: I think so?
- 14:35Speaker 2: Okay also had a quick answer Hayden over here, who
- 14:39Speaker 2: I think is donated to the Wild Sheep Foundation, when
- 14:42Speaker 2: he's won, I know what it does? Yet come up
- 14:44Speaker 2: with an answer?
- 14:45Speaker 7: I know what it does. I think I have an answer.
- 14:47Speaker 7: My problem is is I think this well. I'll explain
- 14:51Speaker 7: it later if you're curious.
- 14:52Speaker 2: According to the USGS, this illness is fatal for sixty
- 14:56Speaker 2: five percent of big horn sheep that contracted. Hayden doesn't
- 15:00Speaker 2: want to give any hints, but he hasn't come up
- 15:01Speaker 2: with an answer yet either.
- 15:04Speaker 4: That's my issue to I don't know if I'm writing correctly.
- 15:08Speaker 4: Spelling is important.
- 15:09Speaker 2: Yeah, you have this one right as probably the sole
- 15:11Speaker 2: person who has shot a big horn sheep in this room.
- 15:15Speaker 2: I think, so okay, it's everybody ready. Chilia, go ahead
- 15:22Speaker 2: and reveal your answers. We have Brody saang pneumonia, Hating
- 15:26Speaker 2: saying brucellos bucalos.
- 15:28Speaker 1: Well, clearly I'm wrong.
- 15:32Speaker 2: Logan saying c w D, Alyssa saying c w D,
- 15:35Speaker 2: Corey saying pneumonia, Mackenzie saying brucellosis. Giannis sang pneumonia Chile
- 15:41Speaker 2: without an answer. The correct answer is pneumonia.
- 15:44Speaker 1: I thought it was like some like sheepy like version
- 15:46Speaker 1: of pneumonia.
- 15:47Speaker 2: One study showed that pneumonia is the top cause of
- 15:50Speaker 2: death for some big horn sheep herds, with thirty six
- 15:54Speaker 2: percent of fatalities being linked to the illness, and even
- 15:57Speaker 2: when big horns do survive, they can act as carriers
- 16:00Speaker 2: for future generations of lambs. Most herds infected with pneumonia
- 16:04Speaker 2: contracted the infection through close contact with domestic sheep and
- 16:09Speaker 2: domestic goats.
- 16:10Speaker 6: Pneumonia killed a pile of antelope and wyoming this year.
- 16:13Speaker 2: I really I didn't know it got to them too.
- 16:15Speaker 6: It's like a side effect of that bad winner.
- 16:18Speaker 2: Giannis was pneumonia issue in the place where you haunted
- 16:21Speaker 2: in Colorado? Who's that a concern there?
- 16:24Speaker 9: I don't believe so.
- 16:25Speaker 2: Some herds I saw it, like I said.
- 16:26Speaker 9: Three and six, they it's a concerns because there are
- 16:30Speaker 9: domestic sheep that is still you know, put out on
- 16:34Speaker 9: range in that mountain range. But I don't know if
- 16:38Speaker 9: that they've actually contracted it.
- 16:40Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 16:41Speaker 2: Question four the topic is fishing. This is our listener
- 16:45Speaker 2: question of the Week, which was won by Kurt Gortletz
- 16:49Speaker 2: for sending this great question. Kurt is going to get
- 16:51Speaker 2: a book signed by Steve. This artist painted a tarpin
- 16:56Speaker 2: on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. The room is stumped.
- 17:02Speaker 2: This artist painted a tarpin on the ceiling of the
- 17:07Speaker 2: Sistine Chapel. Logan, the only.
- 17:11Speaker 5: Person to come the Sistine Chapel, the Sistine Chapel. Do
- 17:14Speaker 5: we get a year?
- 17:18Speaker 2: Not going to tell you.
- 17:19Speaker 8: Let's follow up.
- 17:20Speaker 2: In fact, Duyd has the year. I'm not going to
- 17:21Speaker 2: tell you the year again. This artist painted a tarpin
- 17:25Speaker 2: on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. Logan, Do you
- 17:28Speaker 2: have this one right?
- 17:30Speaker 3: Potentially we were having a discussion I think in the
- 17:32Speaker 3: car last week about like, how many famous artists can
- 17:36Speaker 3: you name?
- 17:37Speaker 2: That's all okay, okay, so you're just picking one of them, Yes, okay,
- 17:44Speaker 2: that might have been a hint. This artist painted a
- 17:46Speaker 2: tarpin on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel.
- 17:49Speaker 5: Is he a ninja turtle? I feel like it's kind
- 17:51Speaker 5: of a stretch to have this as a fishing question.
- 17:54Speaker 2: Just go with the Mackenzie very welcome.
- 17:59Speaker 8: I'm just upset.
- 18:00Speaker 5: I have no idea.
- 18:01Speaker 1: Also, welcome to Suvia.
- 18:04Speaker 2: Yanni. You're gonna get this one right.
- 18:10Speaker 5: Answer, Logan, when you're having.
- 18:11Speaker 2: That conversation, how many artists could you name?
- 18:14Speaker 3: Maybe like five jacks?
- 18:20Speaker 2: Is everybody who's going to come up with an answer
- 18:22Speaker 2: have an answer. Go ahead and reveal your answers. We
- 18:27Speaker 2: have Brody and Hayden and Logan sang Michael Angelo, Alissa Sang,
- 18:33Speaker 2: Leonardo da Vinci, Cory Sang Da Vinci, Mackenzie sang Michael Angelo,
- 18:41Speaker 2: sang ed Anderson, who is currently alive, Chili sang Michael Angelo.
- 18:46Speaker 2: We have a correct answer in the room. It's Michael Angelo.
- 18:50Speaker 2: The room did very well.
- 18:52Speaker 3: I figure there is no way it could be an
- 18:54Speaker 3: actual fishing artist. Like, because that's what I was thinking
- 18:57Speaker 3: at first. I'm like, maybe for some special projects, I know.
- 19:03Speaker 1: A little tarpin in the corner.
- 19:05Speaker 2: I consider this the first accurate painting of a tarpin.
- 19:09Speaker 2: So how did it wind up next to Jonah in
- 19:11Speaker 2: the world's most famous mural, Well in the story about
- 19:15Speaker 2: Jonah getting swallowed. The Bible didn't identify the fish as
- 19:19Speaker 2: a whale until the King James version came out in
- 19:22Speaker 2: sixteen eleven, that's one hundred years after the Sistine Chapel
- 19:26Speaker 2: was painted. Before that, it was just called, quote a
- 19:29Speaker 2: great fish. It speculated that Michael Angelo interpreted the great
- 19:33Speaker 2: fish as a tarpin, so that's what he placed in
- 19:36Speaker 2: the painting. Humans didn't have a consistent way to land
- 19:40Speaker 2: big tarpin by that point, so some folks like Michael
- 19:43Speaker 2: Angelo hypothesized that they grew to biblical proportions.
- 19:46Speaker 6: Where would he have run into a tarpin fish?
- 19:49Speaker 2: That's like kind of the cool thing. That's why it's
- 19:51Speaker 2: one of the first accurate paintings of a tarpin. What
- 19:54Speaker 2: part don't you buy?
- 19:55Speaker 6: I don't buy that it's a tarpin.
- 19:57Speaker 2: Oh, you look at the painting. It's a tarping. You
- 19:58Speaker 2: look at it and be like, oh, that's a that's
- 19:59Speaker 2: a tarp It's the only thing you could maybe think
- 20:01Speaker 2: it is, is like an arapaima or something like that, which
- 20:04Speaker 2: I don't think he'd knew what that was either. I
- 20:06Speaker 2: want to know how he would have seen a tarpin,
- 20:08Speaker 2: an Atlantic tarpin. Take a look at it. It's right
- 20:11Speaker 2: there on the ceiling of the world's most famous mural.
- 20:15Speaker 2: Question five, The topic is mountain Men. Good question, Thank you, Yanni.
- 20:20Speaker 2: That's why it was our listener question of the week.
- 20:22Speaker 2: What book is the movie? Jeremiah Johnson? Based off of
- 20:29Speaker 2: What book is the Movie? Jeremiah Johnson based off of
- 20:35Speaker 2: The room is slow to come up with an answer, Brody,
- 20:40Speaker 2: I thought this would be firmly in your wheelhouse.
- 20:42Speaker 1: Why is that?
- 20:45Speaker 2: Usually when we have mountain men questions, it's like you
- 20:48Speaker 2: and Steve, who get them right? You gotta look at
- 20:52Speaker 2: that stat Okay, here we can visit again. What book
- 20:55Speaker 2: is the movie? Jeremiah Johnson? Based off of who has
- 21:00Speaker 2: seen Jeremiah Johnson? Everybody haven't except Logan, Alyssa Mackenzie.
- 21:07Speaker 1: Robert Redford Man. Okay, Robert Redford is my favorite add
- 21:11Speaker 1: a young one handsome man? Yo, dude? That beard.
- 21:16Speaker 2: Again? What book is the movie? Jeremiah Johnson based off
- 21:20Speaker 2: of Nobody may get this one right? Corey, you haven't answer.
- 21:24Speaker 2: Do you have the right answer?
- 21:26Speaker 8: Yes?
- 21:26Speaker 2: Okay, you honest is now coming up with one? Yanni.
- 21:29Speaker 2: Are you going to have the right answer? Probably not, Logan.
- 21:32Speaker 2: Do you know what Jeremiah Johnson is You haven't seen
- 21:35Speaker 2: the movie?
- 21:35Speaker 8: No, you haven't seen it. No, but you know what
- 21:39Speaker 8: movie I did just watch?
- 21:40Speaker 3: That was Sweet Your Young Guns a classic.
- 21:45Speaker 6: You should go watch Jeremiah Johnson tonight, does everybody have.
- 21:48Speaker 4: Any I think it holds its On movie day at
- 21:52Speaker 4: the new office.
- 21:54Speaker 2: I tried to donate my projector to the new office
- 21:57Speaker 2: and they didn't take it a projector.
- 22:00Speaker 1: Do you think we can put a new projector?
- 22:01Speaker 5: We can put it on the ping pong table?
- 22:03Speaker 2: I donated that to the opposite We have two of them.
- 22:05Speaker 1: We got two ping pong tables.
- 22:06Speaker 2: It's like a ping pong business now going on.
- 22:10Speaker 1: FHF is making paddles.
- 22:12Speaker 2: Does everybody have an answer? Go ahead and reveal your answers.
- 22:18Speaker 2: We have Brody saying the Mountain Man, Hayden saying, Journal
- 22:22Speaker 2: of a trapper logan without an answer. Alicia is saying
- 22:25Speaker 2: how the West was run? Mackenzie saying what's that say?
- 22:32Speaker 2: McKenzie broke back mountains saying mountain Men Chili without an answer.
- 22:39Speaker 2: It was based on two books. One of them is
- 22:42Speaker 2: Crow Killer and the other one was Mountain Men. Yanni
- 22:45Speaker 2: got it right, Yani, did you even know that was
- 22:48Speaker 2: a book? Mountain Man?
- 22:52Speaker 5: I think we'll give to you.
- 22:53Speaker 2: What did you write, Brody.
- 22:56Speaker 5: The Mountain Man.
- 22:56Speaker 2: I don't think we're going to give it to you.
- 22:59Speaker 8: Doesn't work.
- 23:00Speaker 5: Give it to him, give it to Corey.
- 23:03Speaker 2: Well done. I was glad you got there.
- 23:11Speaker 5: You got to give it to Brody.
- 23:14Speaker 2: We'll give it to both of you. I don't think
- 23:16Speaker 2: you should.
- 23:18Speaker 5: You were one letter off Yanni pneumonia, but.
- 23:24Speaker 2: It could have been milling. Here's why I think we'll
- 23:27Speaker 2: give it to you is because Yanni said to give
- 23:28Speaker 2: it to you, and Yanny got it right.
- 23:30Speaker 9: But now now that we had to give it to
- 23:32Speaker 9: somebody that's in contention with me, I feel differently.
- 23:35Speaker 6: It's up to you guys, but I like if I
- 23:38Speaker 6: was sitting in your shoes, I would give it to you,
- 23:40Speaker 6: honest and not us.
- 23:41Speaker 8: But in my shoes.
- 23:42Speaker 2: I'm like, yeah, give it to me. When Yanni didn't
- 23:44Speaker 2: know that you were going to be a point he
- 23:46Speaker 2: was he was going to give it to Corey. Spencer
- 23:48Speaker 2: just really wants to contender.
- 23:50Speaker 8: I'm just being nice and point.
- 23:52Speaker 5: Phil, what do you think this is?
- 23:54Speaker 2: Question five?
- 23:56Speaker 8: This I honestly I marked Brody getting it right.
- 23:59Speaker 2: Okay, we're gonna do that. Then we're gonna give it
- 24:01Speaker 2: to Corey and Brody again. One of the books was
- 24:03Speaker 2: Mountain Man.
- 24:04Speaker 5: Again they wrote Mountain.
- 24:06Speaker 2: Man, according according to I am dB, Jeremiah Johnson is
- 24:12Speaker 2: based off of two books, although most just associated with
- 24:16Speaker 2: crow Killer by Raymond Thorpe and Robert Bunker. One historian
- 24:20Speaker 2: called it the genre's most influential and misunderstood book of
- 24:24Speaker 2: all time. The problem with crow Killer is that it's
- 24:26Speaker 2: presented as a biography, even though it's almost entirely based
- 24:31Speaker 2: on inaccurate oral histories. Phil am, I beaten you, honest, Phil,
- 24:35Speaker 2: We're halfway through the game of trivia. Give Brody a
- 24:37Speaker 2: scoreboard update.
- 24:38Speaker 8: I'm gonna keep them on the edge of a seat
- 24:39Speaker 8: for one more seconds. Going back to podcast studio memories,
- 24:43Speaker 8: the Christmas episodes, I'd say Okay, the two we did
- 24:47Speaker 8: we did in here the first one, and we did
- 24:48Speaker 8: some lead throwing indoors, melted some lead and looked at
- 24:53Speaker 8: our futures violations. Yeah, maybe possibly, who's to say. And
- 24:58Speaker 8: then there was the Tiki family few one, which is
- 25:00Speaker 8: dangerous for a different reason.
- 25:01Speaker 2: That's right.
- 25:03Speaker 8: We've got Alyssa yet to make an impression on the board.
- 25:08Speaker 8: Mackenzie and Chili have one point apiece, Hayden and Logan
- 25:12Speaker 8: have two coreas three and tied for first place are
- 25:16Speaker 8: Jannison Berty.
- 25:17Speaker 2: All right, I'll keep it. Question six, the topic is hunting.
- 25:33Speaker 2: Social media users called for a boycott of this fast
- 25:37Speaker 2: food chain in twenty nineteen after hunting photos of its
- 25:40Speaker 2: founder circulated online. Social media users called for a boycott
- 25:48Speaker 2: of this fast food chain in twenty nineteen after hunting
- 25:51Speaker 2: photos of its founder circulated online. We have a very
- 25:55Speaker 2: confident room. Everyone may get this one right. Yanni is
- 25:59Speaker 2: the slowest to Ulyssa's shaking. No, Giannis doesn't need fast
- 26:04Speaker 2: food against. Social media users called for a boycott to
- 26:08Speaker 2: this fast food chain in twenty nineteen after hunting photos
- 26:12Speaker 2: of its founder circulated online. Is everybody ready any fast
- 26:17Speaker 2: food chain? Who he thinks founder tried to get canceled
- 26:22Speaker 2: in twenty nineteen.
- 26:23Speaker 6: Did he get canceled?
- 26:25Speaker 7: No, I mean maybe as much as a fast food
- 26:28Speaker 7: founder could possibly get cancel Although Papa John's got canceled
- 26:31Speaker 7: super hard.
- 26:32Speaker 2: He did it. It wasn't a photos he like, uh,
- 26:38Speaker 2: he's white, and he used the N word on a
- 26:39Speaker 2: conference call. So that's a good way to lose your company, everybody.
- 26:44Speaker 1: Was a very valid way to lose your company.
- 26:45Speaker 8: Among other things.
- 26:46Speaker 2: I think he had a he had a long track record.
- 26:48Speaker 8: Here's a lot of like deranged interviews where he's sweating
- 26:51Speaker 8: profusely and just like spewing.
- 26:53Speaker 2: Yeah, you know that famous video of David Hasselhoff who's
- 26:56Speaker 2: like on the kitchen floor. I feel like he had
- 26:58Speaker 2: things similar to that. Is everybody ready, yep, go ahead
- 27:02Speaker 2: and reveal your answers. We have Brody saying Jimmy johns
- 27:06Speaker 2: Hayden saying Jimmy Johns logan saying Chick fil A, Alyssa
- 27:10Speaker 2: saying Burger king alys or excuse me, Corey saying Jimmy John,
- 27:14Speaker 2: Mackenzie saying Subway, Yanny saying Jimmy John's Chili saying Chick
- 27:19Speaker 2: fil A, the correct answer is Jimmy Johns.
- 27:23Speaker 5: I let not think Jimmy john I was gonna say.
- 27:26Speaker 8: I kind of agreed.
- 27:28Speaker 1: Yeah, that was their whole thing, is there?
- 27:29Speaker 2: There? There you go. They're wiki identifies it as a
- 27:32Speaker 2: fast food. I've seen identified elsewhere as a fast food.
- 27:35Speaker 8: Definitely fast ok.
- 27:37Speaker 1: Con never feels like fast food when you need it,
- 27:39Speaker 1: for sure.
- 27:40Speaker 2: The hashtag boycott Jimmy Johns was tweeted over seventy seven
- 27:44Speaker 2: thousand times in twenty nineteen. This happened after photos of
- 27:48Speaker 2: Jimmy john posing with dead rhinos, elephants, and zebras went
- 27:52Speaker 2: viral on social media. It didn't seem to work, though,
- 27:55Speaker 2: since Jimmy Johns went from being the thirty fifth most
- 27:58Speaker 2: profitable restaurant in twenty nineteen to thirty fourth and twenty
- 28:02Speaker 2: twenty and thirty second in twenty twenty one.
- 28:05Speaker 3: It's pretty hilarious that a bunch of people that are
- 28:07Speaker 3: eating ham sandwiches and roast beef subs are.
- 28:10Speaker 2: Like, get that guy he hunts? Like what the hell?
- 28:15Speaker 2: Question seven the topic.
- 28:17Speaker 3: I think that guy donated a shitload spend a shitload
- 28:20Speaker 3: of money on rh no like a Utah governor.
- 28:24Speaker 2: Her tags oh yeah, Cory, Yeah, I feel like you've
- 28:28Speaker 2: talked about Corey before. How in your past life you
- 28:30Speaker 2: knew guides who like explicitly worked with Jimmy John. Is
- 28:34Speaker 2: that right?
- 28:35Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 28:35Speaker 4: I kind of threw the grape vine. I guess, not
- 28:37Speaker 4: not one on one or anything. He hires a lot
- 28:39Speaker 4: of guides at one time.
- 28:40Speaker 2: What was the situation there was like kind of one
- 28:42Speaker 2: guy that he had that he liked to go to.
- 28:45Speaker 2: I don't know the guy's name, but whether Jimmy John
- 28:48Speaker 2: was hunting like Utah or Texas or Idaho, he'd liked
- 28:51Speaker 2: this one dude that was like basically his chauffeur. Oh man,
- 28:56Speaker 2: do you remember that? No, Okay, we'll move on Question seven.
- 28:59Speaker 2: The topic is fish saying. This next great question comes
- 29:01Speaker 2: to us via Dustin O'Brien. If you have a question
- 29:03Speaker 2: you think is right for media to trivia, you can
- 29:05Speaker 2: send it to Trivia at the mediator dot com. Three
- 29:09Speaker 2: states list the walleye as an official state symbol. Name
- 29:13Speaker 2: one of those states.
- 29:15Speaker 5: Some three states.
- 29:18Speaker 2: List the walleye as an official state symbol. I need
- 29:23Speaker 2: you to name one of those states.
- 29:26Speaker 6: This is a fishing question.
- 29:27Speaker 2: This is fishing question seven.
- 29:31Speaker 8: State symbol.
- 29:33Speaker 1: That is a fish.
- 29:37Speaker 2: It's not a true question, Brody. Just a state symbol
- 29:39Speaker 2: is a state fish. States have like a state insect,
- 29:43Speaker 2: a state plant, state tree, state fruit.
- 29:50Speaker 1: Do you know Pennsylvania state fish is Brody brook trout?
- 29:52Speaker 1: What about state bird?
- 29:55Speaker 2: Rough grouse?
- 29:56Speaker 1: On fishing questions, dang.
- 30:00Speaker 8: Home state?
- 30:00Speaker 2: They're from Pennsylvania. Now Brody just knows them all the
- 30:05Speaker 2: town is that he really is walking with.
- 30:08Speaker 9: I don't think I can answer that for Michigan.
- 30:10Speaker 2: Is everybody ready to Michigan rough grow?
- 30:12Speaker 8: I think that might be the same too.
- 30:14Speaker 2: Yeah, it is everybody ready. Lissa, go ahead and reveal
- 30:21Speaker 2: your answer. We have Brody and Hayden and Logan saying Minnesota,
- 30:27Speaker 2: Alyssa saying Montana, Corey and Mackenzie and Jannis saying Minnesota,
- 30:33Speaker 2: Chili saying Wisconsin. The three states are Minnesota, South Dakota,
- 30:39Speaker 2: and Vermont. Chile your home state, Chili is a South Dakota.
- 30:43Speaker 1: I'm from southeast.
- 30:44Speaker 8: Shouldn't know that.
- 30:45Speaker 2: Didn't know the walleye was a state fish. Minnesota declared
- 30:48Speaker 2: the walleye there're state fish in nineteen sixty five. Vermont
- 30:52Speaker 2: followed suit in nineteen seventy eight. In South Dakota in
- 30:55Speaker 2: nineteen ninety two. Some states list multiple fish as state
- 30:59Speaker 2: symbols and separate them by state saltwater fish and state
- 31:03Speaker 2: freshwater fish. Vermont is the only state, though, that has
- 31:07Speaker 2: a state cold water fish and state warmwater fish. Question eight,
- 31:12Speaker 2: the topic is woodsmanship. What three months are when the
- 31:17Speaker 2: most acres are burned by wildfires in the United States?
- 31:23Speaker 2: What three months are when the most acres are burned
- 31:28Speaker 2: by wildfires in the United States? This topic is woodsmanship.
- 31:33Speaker 2: We will get a scoreboard update from Filled the engineer
- 31:35Speaker 2: after this. Again, I need you to name all three
- 31:41Speaker 2: months most acres. You said most acres? That's right. What
- 31:45Speaker 2: three months are when the most acres are burned by
- 31:49Speaker 2: wildfires in the United States? A lot of second guessing
- 31:55Speaker 2: in this room. It looks like folks are thinking hard brod,
- 31:59Speaker 2: Are you gonna get this one?
- 32:01Speaker 6: I don't know if it's not a trick question? I will.
- 32:05Speaker 2: Is everybody ready have a trick question?
- 32:06Speaker 9: Bro could be because I just recently learned that fire
- 32:10Speaker 9: season is not the same I'm.
- 32:13Speaker 1: Going to change my states.
- 32:15Speaker 2: Is everybody ready in the United States? Is everybody ready? Mackenzie?
- 32:22Speaker 2: Go ahead and reveal your answers. We have Brody saying July, August, September,
- 32:27Speaker 2: Hayden saying July, August, September, Logan saying June July, August,
- 32:32Speaker 2: Alyssa saying July, August, September, Cory saying August, September, October,
- 32:38Speaker 2: Mackenzie saying June July August, Yannis saying August, September, October,
- 32:43Speaker 2: Chile saying July, August, September. The three months are June, July,
- 32:50Speaker 2: and August. Three folks said, think got it right. This
- 32:55Speaker 2: is according to a study that looked at wildfire trends
- 32:58Speaker 2: in America between nineteen ninety two. In twenty fifteen, the
- 33:03Speaker 2: month when the most acres burn is June. That's followed
- 33:06Speaker 2: by July, August, September, and May. That trend was only
- 33:11Speaker 2: bucked in twenty eleven, when Texas had forty three percent
- 33:15Speaker 2: of the nation's wildfire acres. The state was on fire
- 33:19Speaker 2: for the whole year, with the worst one with the
- 33:21Speaker 2: worst months being February, April, May, and September. So June, July,
- 33:27Speaker 2: August when the most acres burn, phil Where does the
- 33:31Speaker 2: scoreboard now stand?
- 33:33Speaker 8: Alyssa, Mackenzie, and Chili are no longer in the running
- 33:37Speaker 8: for the victory, but we have Logan and Hayden with
- 33:41Speaker 8: four points apiece, Corey with five and still tied in
- 33:46Speaker 8: first place are Brody and Giannis with six points.
- 33:49Speaker 9: Two questions every time, Dude, a lot of players still
- 33:53Speaker 9: in the game.
- 33:54Speaker 5: Question nine.
- 33:55Speaker 2: The topic is cooking. This next great question comes to
- 33:57Speaker 2: us via Dan Alonso. Question. You think it's right for
- 34:01Speaker 2: media or trivia? You can send it to trivia at
- 34:03Speaker 2: the meat eater dot com. Protein poisoning, which is sometimes
- 34:08Speaker 2: called blank starvation, is when your body takes in too
- 34:12Speaker 2: much protein with not enough fat or carbs. So this
- 34:17Speaker 2: is a fill in the blank. Here's the prompt again.
- 34:20Speaker 2: Protein poisoning, which is sometimes called blank starvation, is when
- 34:26Speaker 2: your body takes in too much protein with not enough
- 34:29Speaker 2: fat or carbs. Brody with a quick answer, Brody, are
- 34:33Speaker 2: you going to get this one right?
- 34:34Speaker 6: I don't know, but it's something I've heard before.
- 34:38Speaker 2: You should have been confident. You could have put some
- 34:40Speaker 2: fear and Yanni over here, who has not even picked
- 34:42Speaker 2: up his marker yet, hasn't picked up his whiteboard.
- 34:45Speaker 6: He often waits to write.
- 34:48Speaker 2: I think he likes the drama of seeing how the
- 34:51Speaker 2: rest of the room reacts and then Yanni swoops in
- 34:54Speaker 2: at the last second to get it right.
- 34:57Speaker 1: I hate it when Brody's ahead and then we have
- 34:59Speaker 1: like I feel like I'm.
- 35:00Speaker 7: Ahead, you're ahead of me, bro Well, that's like every game.
- 35:06Speaker 1: This is a family show. And then do you typically
- 35:12Speaker 1: put cooking questions towards the end?
- 35:14Speaker 7: No, just trying to give it a nice you feel
- 35:16Speaker 7: like that's how it plays out, man, because.
- 35:17Speaker 2: It's a nice even mixed. Question one today was trying
- 35:20Speaker 2: cookbooks and question nine was cooking you post cooking videos.
- 35:25Speaker 1: Yeah, but they're not.
- 35:26Speaker 7: Yeah, they're like they're like stupid though, they're like, here's
- 35:28Speaker 7: how to make Chick fil A nuggets.
- 35:30Speaker 5: Again, I always double tap.
- 35:33Speaker 2: Hayden, which is sometimes called blank starvation, is when your
- 35:37Speaker 2: body takes in too much protein with not enough fat
- 35:40Speaker 2: or carbs. It's everybody who had going to come up
- 35:43Speaker 2: with an answer, have an answer, Yanni. Have you came
- 35:46Speaker 2: up with an answer yet? No? He came or come
- 35:51Speaker 2: either one. Do everybody have an answer? Yanni? It's everybody ready?
- 36:05Speaker 2: All right, go ahead, reveal your answers. We have and
- 36:10Speaker 2: Hayden saying rabbit Logan sang false alysta without an answer.
- 36:16Speaker 2: Corey sang Scarvey Mackenzie without an answer, the honest saying rabbit.
- 36:21Speaker 2: He crossed out fat chili without an answer. The correct
- 36:25Speaker 2: answer is rabbit or fat. Yeahanna, you had both of
- 36:29Speaker 2: the answers. Really, that's right. Rabbit starvation or fat starvation.
- 36:34Speaker 2: Rabbit starvation is rare today, but it can happen in
- 36:38Speaker 2: survival situations. It was first documented in one fifty BC,
- 36:42Speaker 2: when Roman soldiers died after eating nothing but boiled venison
- 36:47Speaker 2: and rabbits for days. Symptoms include nausea, headache, fatigue, low
- 36:52Speaker 2: blood pressure, and diarrhea. Brody, is that something you guys
- 36:55Speaker 2: covered in the survival books?
- 36:58Speaker 3: I don't think so.
- 36:59Speaker 6: Maybe it got mentioned, but I don't think so.
- 37:01Speaker 5: It's kind of one of those means, it's not.
- 37:04Speaker 2: A period of time for that to have to you know, sure,
- 37:08Speaker 2: it's right. It'd be something like Bear Grills would talk
- 37:10Speaker 2: about in two days, he'd get it. Yeah.
- 37:14Speaker 3: Yeah, you just eat like the liver and stuff and
- 37:17Speaker 3: you're good to go. I feil that's how you overcome it.
- 37:19Speaker 2: We have one question left. Give us a scoreboard update.
- 37:23Speaker 8: It's coming down to Brodie Giannis once again. We've got
- 37:27Speaker 8: seven points.
- 37:28Speaker 2: Apiece Question ten. The topic is conservation. Consider the largest
- 37:35Speaker 2: cactus that's native to the United States. This plant has
- 37:39Speaker 2: a national park in Arizona named after it. Spelling couss
- 37:44Speaker 2: Considered the largest cactus that's native to the United States.
- 37:49Speaker 2: This plant has a national park in Arizona named after it.
- 37:54Speaker 2: Brody with a confident answer, Giannis has not picked up
- 37:59Speaker 2: his white port, Brodie, are you going to get this
- 38:01Speaker 2: one ride? I'm honest, no comment. Yanni is rubbing his temple,
- 38:11Speaker 2: trying to find an answer. The most famous cactus I
- 38:14Speaker 2: don't know. Considered the largest cactus that's native to the
- 38:18Speaker 2: United States. This plant has a national park in Arizona
- 38:22Speaker 2: named after it. Mmmm, Corey, I want to revisit. I
- 38:29Speaker 2: want to revisit the fishing question about the Sistine Chapel.
- 38:32Speaker 2: You gave a pretty heavy hint when you said, is
- 38:34Speaker 2: it a teenage media ninja turtle?
- 38:36Speaker 4: And I didn't even write down a ninja.
- 38:38Speaker 5: Turtle because I was hoping.
- 38:41Speaker 7: Somebody I liked how I liked how you wrote it.
- 38:48Speaker 1: You wrote like Michael Angelo, Like Mike Angelo.
- 38:53Speaker 5: Spelling doesn't matter, pretty good, Phillips. Spelling was not my
- 38:59Speaker 5: strong suit in great school.
- 39:02Speaker 2: Yanny, how we do it over there?
- 39:04Speaker 9: Blankboard, Bud, blank mind? Right now, are you going to
- 39:07Speaker 9: come up with something? Depends on how much time you
- 39:10Speaker 9: give me. Do you guys want to take a quick
- 39:12Speaker 9: bathroom break?
- 39:14Speaker 2: Phil, do you have any other memories about the podcast?
- 39:19Speaker 2: Come up with a cat.
- 39:20Speaker 8: I mean, honestly, one of my favorites is Steve just
- 39:23Speaker 8: absolutely going downhill the last few weeks in trivia, and
- 39:25Speaker 8: Brody just victorious all the time. It's been great, great
- 39:30Speaker 8: to watch.
- 39:33Speaker 7: Every time I play trivia, I'm in a round with
- 39:35Speaker 7: Brody and it's really hurting my average.
- 39:39Speaker 6: Sitting mind me.
- 39:41Speaker 1: No, well, I guess right, yeah.
- 39:45Speaker 7: But like, here's the thing about Brody, man, if if
- 39:49Speaker 7: you get behind him early in the game, there was
- 39:52Speaker 7: very little chance that you're catching up.
- 39:54Speaker 2: It's not a winner's mindset, dude, exactly.
- 39:57Speaker 5: You need a stronger mental game, buddy.
- 40:01Speaker 2: You know, self confidence, bro Yanni, Phil, Phil, and Hayden
- 40:07Speaker 2: just bought you an extra minute, and I see your
- 40:09Speaker 2: board is still blank.
- 40:10Speaker 3: What Joannis used to say, always be hunting, which means
- 40:14Speaker 3: you never give up.
- 40:15Speaker 7: Dude, Yeah, I can do that when I'm actually hunting.
- 40:18Speaker 7: But like when he's like, what tarpin was on the
- 40:22Speaker 7: painting I get I don't know.
- 40:24Speaker 2: It wasn't you got that one right?
- 40:26Speaker 1: I did get that one right. That's that's for sure.
- 40:28Speaker 2: Yanni is currently hunting for an answer, can't find one.
- 40:32Speaker 5: And regretting giving Brody that extra point.
- 40:34Speaker 8: Oh so bad.
- 40:37Speaker 5: Think about it when you're going to a tiebreaker, get.
- 40:39Speaker 2: Back unless you know Brody, Brodie could still get this
- 40:42Speaker 2: one true. He is not super confident, Brodie, what do
- 40:46Speaker 2: you think fifty chance?
- 40:51Speaker 1: Just any cactus?
- 40:52Speaker 4: No?
- 40:52Speaker 5: I know a couple of castuses, but but they're not.
- 40:55Speaker 2: Big, Yanny, think you need to come up with one here.
- 40:58Speaker 1: But it's also named after a national part.
- 41:00Speaker 2: So here's the question again. They're all sorts of considered
- 41:03Speaker 2: the largest cactus that's native.
- 41:07Speaker 3: He's had too much time, but he gave me that answer,
- 41:09Speaker 3: so I can't say.
- 41:10Speaker 2: Ship right now. This plant has a national park in
- 41:14Speaker 2: Arizona named after it. When you hear the answer, Yanni,
- 41:18Speaker 2: are you going to kick yourself? You think, yes, violently
- 41:21Speaker 2: kick myself may not too violent.
- 41:26Speaker 9: No, I'm just gonna give it, give it.
- 41:29Speaker 2: I don't have a we had a guess, even wrote
- 41:35Speaker 2: it down.
- 41:35Speaker 9: Go ahead, I'm not going to guess, go ahead and
- 41:38Speaker 9: reveal your.
- 41:45Speaker 2: Hayden saying so Warrow, Logan sang Sequoya, Alyssa sang prickly.
- 41:51Speaker 2: Pair Cory sag so Warrow, Mackenzie saying prickly Yanni without
- 41:57Speaker 2: an answer, Chili saying dona the correct answer. The correct
- 42:05Speaker 2: answer is Sowarro, making Brody.
- 42:08Speaker 3: Our winner with eight correct I'll cherish this one since
- 42:13Speaker 3: this last one in this studio.
- 42:15Speaker 2: The largest soarrow ever documented was seventy eight feet tall.
- 42:19Speaker 2: They grow incredibly slow, with it taking ten years to
- 42:23Speaker 2: reach six inches tall. By seventy years old, they're about
- 42:26Speaker 2: seven feet tall and produce their first flowers. At age
- 42:30Speaker 2: one hundred, they're fifteen feet tall and produce their first arm,
- 42:34Speaker 2: and at two hundred years old they reach full maturity
- 42:37Speaker 2: at forty five feet tall. Yanni, was that in your
- 42:40Speaker 2: head somewhere? Oh yeah, maybe on a different.
- 42:43Speaker 3: N Those things when you're staring through the glass at
- 42:46Speaker 3: Ferkus deer, haven't you.

- 42:59Speaker 9: Yeah really really yeah, ram and ramming them and Ram
- 43:03Speaker 9: what do.
- 43:03Speaker 2: They do anything it's like testing their head practice into

- 43:25Speaker 9: Very kind Alaska BHA so they can keep fighting the
- 43:30Speaker 9: no road to Ambler fight.
- 43:32Speaker 2: Is that, uh where we had a particular crosshoads with
- 43:34Speaker 2: that right now or just an ongoing thing.
- 43:36Speaker 8: It's an ongoing thing.
- 43:38Speaker 2: What what would BHA do to to help that?
- 43:42Speaker 9: I'm guessing that right now they're just working on messaging
- 43:45Speaker 9: and just getting the word out there that this, uh,
- 43:47Speaker 9: this thing's going on and happening.
- 43:49Speaker 2: Well done, Yanni. Nobody loses in more controversial ways than
- 43:53Speaker 2: Yannis Poutellist.
