- 0:00Speaker 1: This is Kiss Breakfast.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Yeah, let's go to Nat and get a hit of
- 0:04Speaker 2: celeb news.
- 0:04Speaker 3: What are you looking at?
- 0:05Speaker 2: So Demi Lovato, she's had a pretty tough journey in
- 0:09Speaker 2: her upbringing. I mean, she was a Disney star and
- 0:11Speaker 2: we know child stars struggle a little bit more being
- 0:14Speaker 2: in the spotlight so early and criticised from such a
- 0:17Speaker 2: young age. So she's not only had like drug problems,
- 0:21Speaker 2: but she's also had body issues.
- 0:24Speaker 3: So she's completely sober now.
- 0:25Speaker 2: And in this recent interview, she was talking about her
- 0:28Speaker 2: eating disorder and what actually triggered that in her personally.
- 0:32Speaker 3: Let's take a listen.
- 0:33Speaker 4: What I saw my mom going through. My mom had
- 0:36Speaker 4: an eating disorder and you were aware of it. I.
- 0:41Speaker 4: Became aware when I was old enough to comprehend what
- 0:44Speaker 4: she was dealing with, which was about 12, 13. And
- 0:49Speaker 4: I noticed her food behaviors and I emulated some of
- 0:55Speaker 4: what I saw. And that's when I developed anorexia.
- 1:01Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:01Speaker 2: So it's one of the conversations I've already had with
- 1:04Speaker 2: my fiancé because I'm having a daughter and I'm really
- 1:07Speaker 2: bad with, because I've grown up in an era or,
- 1:10Speaker 2: you know, where body image is so at the forefront
- 1:13Speaker 2: of females' minds.
- 1:14Speaker 3: Like you're constantly, like back in the day it used
- 1:16Speaker 3: to be worse than now. Now it's getting much better.
- 1:19Speaker 2: But like they'd run whole articles on look how fat
- 1:21Speaker 2: this celebrity's gotten.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Yeah, and she's like a size 10.
- 1:24Speaker 3: Yeah, like think back early noughties and stuff at the
- 1:26Speaker 3: headlines that used to run.
- 1:27Speaker 1: It was awful.
- 1:28Speaker 2: So we grew up in a time where that was
- 1:30Speaker 2: so normalized. And like I said, it is getting better now.
- 1:33Speaker 3: But one thing I'm.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Going to be super conscious of is not falling into
- 1:37Speaker 2: the habit of saying things like, about myself around her
- 1:42Speaker 2: and saying, I feel fat today or I've gained weight or,
- 1:44Speaker 2: you know, I look like fat in this dress.
- 1:47Speaker 3: Or anything like that.
- 1:47Speaker 1: It's all about the language.
- 1:48Speaker 3: Because they're a sponge.
- 1:49Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:50Speaker 2: And she's going to sit there and the earliest memory
- 1:52Speaker 2: she'll have of like what women's beauty is, is thinking that,
- 1:56Speaker 2: you know, my mum thinks I'm fat.
- 1:58Speaker 3: Am I fat? And it's so funny.
- 2:00Speaker 1: You don't realise that. They pick up on absolutely everything.
- 2:04Speaker 5: So I actually don't eat breakfast.
- 2:07Speaker 1: I've never eaten breakfast. Really?
- 2:09Speaker 3: I've never eaten breakfast. You're probably just busy in the morning, right?
- 2:11Speaker 1: Well, even when I.
- 2:13Speaker 5: Was at school, I remember my mum always being like,
- 2:15Speaker 5: eat breakfast, it's the most important meal of the day.
- 2:17Speaker 3: Never ate breakfast. Oh, I love breakfast.
- 2:18Speaker 5: Yeah, and I don't mind breakfast when there's a buffet
- 2:21Speaker 5: or if I'm on holidays and stuff.
- 2:22Speaker 3: If you're going to brunch with your friends. Yes.
- 2:24Speaker 5: But I just won't eat it otherwise. And what I've
- 2:26Speaker 5: noticed is Charlie doesn't eat breakfast now.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Oh, it's rubbing off on her.
- 2:29Speaker 3: Yeah, because she just does– she is like– Monkey see,
- 2:32Speaker 3: monkey do. Absolutely.
- 2:34Speaker 1: She emulates me in every form.
- 2:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:37Speaker 5: And I've even– she sees me looking like a troll
- 2:42Speaker 5: at home, looking like a homeless person.
- 2:44Speaker 1: And then she also sees me fully done up, right?
- 2:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:47Speaker 5: And she is like– when I leave the house sometimes
- 2:50Speaker 5: and I look like a a bush pig. She's like, mum, mum,
- 2:54Speaker 5: like why are you leaving the house like that? No,
- 2:57Speaker 5: but I'm like, oh, I use this as an education piece. Okay,
- 3:00Speaker 5: because mum's really comfortable in her skin. This is what
- 3:02Speaker 5: I've been, this is the way I was born, this
- 3:04Speaker 5: is the skin that I'm in and I love who
- 3:07Speaker 5: I am. And then I also love getting dressed up
- 3:09Speaker 5: every now and again. But I'm also, she's like, wait,
- 3:11Speaker 5: but you can look that hot and you go out
- 3:13Speaker 5: looking like that?
- 3:14Speaker 3: Mum, you're a catfish.
- 3:15Speaker 5: LAUGHTER You're the ultimate catfish mum.
- 3:19Speaker 2: Also, Victoria Beckham has shared the thing that her husband,
- 3:22Speaker 2: David Beckham, does when they've had guests over and they're entertaining.
- 3:26Speaker 3: And then, you know, when you have people over and
- 3:27Speaker 3: you're like, how do I get them to leave?
- 3:29Speaker 2: Especially if it's after drinks. Some people just won't leave.
- 3:32Speaker 2: And I'm talking, I've had it early hours of the
- 3:34Speaker 2: morning and you're like ready to go to bed. And
- 3:36Speaker 2: they just don't, they lack the ability to know it's
- 3:39Speaker 2: time to go now. So David has a little trick
- 3:42Speaker 2: that he does at their house.
- 3:44Speaker 3: Let's have a listen. You know what happens in the
- 3:46Speaker 3: Beckham house when David wants people to leave? He literally walks.
- 3:49Speaker 5: Around the room blowing out the candles, hoping that people
- 3:53Speaker 5: will get the hint.
- 3:54Speaker 3: I mean, you would, but who has candles? Oh, everyone.
- 3:58Speaker 3: I do.
- 3:58Speaker 1: If I've got people over for a dinner party or something,
- 4:01Speaker 1: I always like candles.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Yeah, there's candles all over my house.
- 4:03Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Oh, it's a chick thing. I think I've got one candle.
- 4:06Speaker 3: You probably never light it either. Is it in the
- 4:08Speaker 3: toilet after you do a big dump?
- 4:09Speaker 1: LAUGHTER No, I think it was in my living room,
- 4:12Speaker 1: but it was some gift or something.
- 4:13Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:14Speaker 5: Hang on, if I had people over and I just
- 4:16Speaker 5: had all the lights on but one candle, would they
- 4:18Speaker 5: still get the hint from that or did you need
- 4:20Speaker 5: many candles?
- 4:20Speaker 2: I think in your case, if you had the boys
- 4:22Speaker 2: over and you had candles on, they, with your, like, behaviour,
- 4:25Speaker 2: would be thinking something different. Yeah.
- 4:27Speaker 1: If I had a candle.
- 4:28Speaker 2: If you had just candlelight on with your mates over.
- 4:31Speaker 2: But no, the other one to do is like I
- 4:33Speaker 2: always have soft music playing.
- 4:35Speaker 3: You just turn the music off. Oh, music off is
- 4:37Speaker 3: like get out of here. I'm ruthless.
- 4:39Speaker 1: I'm just like, hey, I'm going to bed, guys. I
- 4:41Speaker 1: can't keep my eyes open.
- 4:42Speaker 3: Yeah, that's cool.
- 4:42Speaker 1: Good night.
- 4:43Speaker 3: You know what's really good?
- 4:44Speaker 2: Being pregnant for getting out of things is so good.
- 4:48Speaker 3: And I've noticed my partner using it too. He's like, ah,
- 4:50Speaker 3: the old ball and chain. She's pregnant. I better go
- 4:52Speaker 3: home to her. And I'm like, and then we've got
- 4:55Speaker 3: the kids excuse. It's perfect. Yeah, you can get out
- 4:57Speaker 3: of everything.
