Transcript
- 0:21Speaker 1: Welcome to jag Zam this morning brought to you by
- 0:23Speaker 1: Fields Dotter Group. I'm kind of honest. Stevens Bran Sexton,
- 0:25Speaker 1: John Oser with me as we get ready for a
- 0:27Speaker 1: week four matchup. Jaguars are heading out West California to
- 0:30Speaker 1: take on the San Francisco forty nine ers on Sunday.
- 0:32Speaker 1: So that's what we're gonna talk about today. Let's talk
- 0:34Speaker 1: about are big things brought to you by g e
- 0:36Speaker 1: h A Government Employees Health Association.
- 0:39Speaker 2: First big thing is next man up.
- 0:40Speaker 1: We heard yesterday that Danny Brown, who's on the injury
- 0:43Speaker 1: report with a shoulder injury, he did not participate in
- 0:45Speaker 1: practice on Wednesday, so that could mean an increased role
- 0:48Speaker 1: on offense for rookie Travis Hunter. Trevor Lawrence talked a
- 0:52Speaker 1: little bit yesterday about what's gonna take and how he
- 0:54Speaker 1: can kind of work with him on the sideline.
- 0:57Speaker 3: I try to grab him as soon as I can,
- 0:59Speaker 3: you know, between series, because if he's going to defense,
- 1:01Speaker 3: obviously he's not going to be over there, So just
- 1:02Speaker 3: trying to grab him right off the field as soon
- 1:03Speaker 3: as I can. Game days a little bit tougher, sometimes
- 1:06Speaker 3: I gotta find him a little bit after the fact,
- 1:07Speaker 3: just because I know he's running around trying to make
- 1:09Speaker 3: sure he's not going on defense.
- 1:10Speaker 4: So the communication has been good though. He's been really receptive.
- 1:14Speaker 3: He's been around, you know, looking at pictures or whatever
- 1:17Speaker 3: on the iPad.
- 1:18Speaker 4: If I have to go grab him, he's always been there.
- 1:19Speaker 4: We haven't had a problem with that yet.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Ran We've seen what Travis Hunter can do on defense. Now,
- 1:24Speaker 1: with Dianmi Brown potentially out this weekend, we may see
- 1:27Speaker 1: an increased roll on offense.
- 1:28Speaker 4: Without a doubt.
- 1:28Speaker 5: And when you go back and look at the twenty
- 1:30Speaker 5: one yard completion that Trevis Our pardon me, Trevor had
- 1:33Speaker 5: with Travis and the double move that he made to
- 1:36Speaker 5: get free for the first down, I could clutch play
- 1:39Speaker 5: in the third quarter. Why wouldn't you want the ball
- 1:41Speaker 5: in his hands more? But it won't just be Travis
- 1:43Speaker 5: Parker Washington, who the Jaguars, despite the drops last week,
- 1:46Speaker 5: have a lot of faith in, and also perhaps Austin
- 1:49Speaker 5: Trammell might come up from the practice squad. They'll have
- 1:52Speaker 5: to make that decision later in the week. You know,
- 1:53Speaker 5: also Kai looking at that next man up. It's the
- 1:56Speaker 5: phrase that every team uses when players are injured. Relatively speaking,
- 2:00Speaker 5: the Jaguars are talking about one player at one position.
- 2:03Speaker 5: If you look at the report from San Francisco, Nick
- 2:06Speaker 5: Bosa and all those players on offense who are limited
- 2:09Speaker 5: or out, the Jaguars are pretty healthy.
- 2:11Speaker 4: That's a good sign.
- 2:12Speaker 6: Yeah. And I don't forget Tim Patrick in the wide
- 2:14Speaker 6: receiver corps. He could matter a lot as a receiver
- 2:19Speaker 6: this week. I don't know that you're gonna see more
- 2:21Speaker 6: snaps from Travis Hunter, but I do think you're gonna
- 2:25Speaker 6: see them try to get him the ball more and
- 2:27Speaker 6: certain in situations, try to scheme for him a little more.
- 2:32Speaker 6: He's been playing forty snaps and I don't know that
- 2:36Speaker 6: they're in a hurry to increase numbers on either side
- 2:39Speaker 6: of the ball, but they definitely want to increase the
- 2:41Speaker 6: number of times he has the ball in positions to
- 2:43Speaker 6: make plays.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Let's go to a big thing, number two, which is
- 2:46Speaker 1: a tough test for Trevor Lawrence and this offense going
- 2:48Speaker 1: up against the Barrey nine of defense. They'll be without
- 2:50Speaker 1: Nick Blosa, but they've got a ton of other players
- 2:52Speaker 1: that fly around over there. And Coach go and talked
- 2:54Speaker 1: a little bit about the difficulty going up against that
- 2:56Speaker 1: defense and.
- 2:58Speaker 7: Say, you're going to get greedy at some point, you're
- 3:01Speaker 7: going to get bored at some point of kind of
- 3:04Speaker 7: playing the twelve to fifteen an in game, right, because
- 3:09Speaker 7: they do play a ton of quarters lead the NFL,
- 3:12Speaker 7: I believe in shell coverage and quarters and cover six
- 3:16Speaker 7: quarter quarter a half variations. We'll see if that holds
- 3:20Speaker 7: true this week for sure, but that's definitely what they've
- 3:22Speaker 7: wanted to do through three games, and it just makes you,
- 3:25Speaker 7: as a play caller and as a quarterback have to
- 3:30Speaker 7: be patient and meticulous and just keep taking what they
- 3:34Speaker 7: end up giving you. And then, yeah, we have to
- 3:38Speaker 7: take advantage of the ops that we do get down
- 3:41Speaker 7: the field that we didn't take advantage of this past week.
- 3:45Speaker 1: John, The Texans defense obviously tremendous. The forty nine ers
- 3:48Speaker 1: defense very very good in their own way, and also
- 3:51Speaker 1: just so smart. It feels like those penalties and little
- 3:53Speaker 1: mistakes on offense that we've seen through the first couple
- 3:55Speaker 1: of weeks will really bite them if they have them.
- 3:57Speaker 2: In this game.
- 3:58Speaker 8: Yeah, you and.
- 4:00Speaker 6: Game when you start getting yourself behind the chains and
- 4:02Speaker 6: you're facing first and fifteen instead of second and.
- 4:04Speaker 8: Eight, that's big. Look with apologies to.
- 4:08Speaker 6: Nick Bosa, Fred Warner might be the best player in
- 4:09Speaker 6: the forty nine Ers defense. Then they're not going into
- 4:12Speaker 6: this game without skill and ability. But it's going to
- 4:17Speaker 6: be a big moment game for Trevor. Anytime you play
- 4:20Speaker 6: a defense like this, they're going to give you three
- 4:22Speaker 6: or four opportunities in a game, and when it's.
- 4:25Speaker 8: There, you've got to take it.
- 4:27Speaker 6: Brian, I think at some point the key for this
- 4:29Speaker 6: offense maybe this weekend, they've got to start getting some explosives.
- 4:34Speaker 6: They've shown they can run, they've shown they can get
- 4:36Speaker 6: guys open. But I thought going into the season that
- 4:39Speaker 6: the reason I had hoped for this offense shocking.
- 4:43Speaker 8: I was wrong, but not so.
- 4:46Speaker 6: I didn't expect the running game to be this consistent
- 4:48Speaker 6: this early. I thought there would be explosives. I think
- 4:50Speaker 6: there will be Travis Hunter and BTJ this week.
- 4:53Speaker 5: For me, really, perhaps the best player for the Niners
- 4:56Speaker 5: defense right now John is Robert Slaw and you know,
- 4:59Speaker 5: Gus Brad is out there as the assistant head coach
- 5:02Speaker 5: for defense, the senior guy, and they run a really
- 5:04Speaker 5: good scheme. But this is not the same defense that
- 5:07Speaker 5: rolled in here last year two years ago. And put
- 5:10Speaker 5: five down. Defensive linemen pummeled the quarterback and helped the
- 5:14Speaker 5: Jaguars to just a field goal. There's only two players left,
- 5:16Speaker 5: Warner who you mentioned at a quarter Leonar. The Jaguars
- 5:20Speaker 5: will have to take some shots because there will be
- 5:22Speaker 5: opportunities to take some shots. This is not that same defense,
- 5:26Speaker 5: and I think when you look at the success that
- 5:29Speaker 5: Trevor has had against the Colts the last couple of years, well,
- 5:32Speaker 5: this is the same defensive scheme. So I think there's
- 5:34Speaker 5: gonna be opportunities. The Jaguars have to get the running
- 5:37Speaker 5: game started because that is through which everything runs. But
- 5:39Speaker 5: I think there's gonna be opportunities and the Jaguars can't
- 5:41Speaker 5: be scared to take them.
- 5:43Speaker 1: Our final big thing today is going to be containment.
- 5:44Speaker 1: The Jaguars defense has been playing amazing the first three
- 5:47Speaker 1: weeks and there's a lot of injury reports, a lot
- 5:49Speaker 1: of wide receivers out on pass catchers for the forty.
- 5:52Speaker 2: Nine ers this week.
- 5:53Speaker 1: One player we do know is going to go though,
- 5:54Speaker 1: is Christian McCaffrey, and he's so versatile. Brian, when we
- 5:58Speaker 1: look at that and is it just hopes of cantainment.
- 6:00Speaker 5: There, well, listen, he's more effective this year so far
- 6:03Speaker 5: as a pass receiver out of the backfield. He's averaging
- 6:06Speaker 5: eight point three yards every time he touches the ball pass.
- 6:09Speaker 5: He's not as effective running the ball this year, just
- 6:11Speaker 5: three point four yards per carry, but if you factor
- 6:13Speaker 5: it in, he's averaging five yards every time the ball
- 6:17Speaker 5: is in his hands. Yeah, he's a tough guy to contain.
- 6:19Speaker 5: He's so elusive. He's got the ability to stop and start.
- 6:23Speaker 5: He's a tremendous football player, and they're gonna put the
- 6:27Speaker 5: ball in his hands.
- 6:28Speaker 6: Well, he sort of defines their offense. And now by that,
- 6:31Speaker 6: I mean when you go to the line as a defense,
- 6:35Speaker 6: they're one of the offenses in the league where you
- 6:36Speaker 6: really cannot read them because of McCaffrey.
- 6:38Speaker 8: He can catch the ball, you can run.
- 6:40Speaker 6: You don't know what they're gonna do on a give
- 6:42Speaker 6: him play out at a given formation.
- 6:43Speaker 8: So it would be easy to look at.
- 6:45Speaker 6: His numbers, his rushing numbers through three games and say, well,
- 6:49Speaker 6: you know, that's not what you used to see. And
- 6:52Speaker 6: he's going to break out at some point. He's too good,
- 6:55Speaker 6: not too and he's still in his prime. The Jigs
- 6:57Speaker 6: have to make sure it's not this weekend.
- 6:58Speaker 5: And they give him the ball twenty five time, he
- 7:01Speaker 5: touches it twenty five times again, and.
- 7:04Speaker 1: He deserves every single touch because he's very good with
- 7:06Speaker 1: the ball in his hands. Stay with us here on
- 7:08Speaker 1: Jags Am, We're gonna move forward.
- 7:09Speaker 2: I'll talk it.
- 7:10Speaker 1: I'm checking in with the forty nine Ers team reporter
- 7:12Speaker 1: to learn more about the matchup.
- 7:25Speaker 2: Jags fans.
- 7:25Speaker 1: You want to customize Jaguars furniture for your home, checkout
- 7:28Speaker 1: zipchare dot com arouse all the customizable options.
- 7:30Speaker 2: Zipchair is furniture for fans.
- 7:34Speaker 1: Welcome into behind Enemy Lines, where we check in with
- 7:37Speaker 1: a media member from the team the Jaguars are playing
- 7:39Speaker 1: this week. So this week we're checking in with forty
- 7:41Speaker 1: nine Ers team reporter Brianna Janelle, my counterpart. I appreciate you,
- 7:46Speaker 1: and obviously we want to hear more about the forty
- 7:48Speaker 1: nine Ers. They're three and oh right now. They've battled
- 7:50Speaker 1: through a ton of adversity already with injuries. What have
- 7:52Speaker 1: you seen from the team so far?
- 7:54Speaker 9: Absolutely, thanks for having me, But yes, the word for
- 7:58Speaker 9: this team's play and the first three games of the
- 8:00Speaker 9: season have been resilience. I mean this team has faced
- 8:05Speaker 9: a new challenge every week, and a lot of times
- 8:08Speaker 9: it's not just the opponent. It also comes internally. I
- 8:11Speaker 9: mean not having wide receiver Brandon I used to start
- 8:14Speaker 9: the season, Rock Purty going down, Juwan Jennings going down
- 8:17Speaker 9: last week, most recently, not having Nick Bosa now for
- 8:20Speaker 9: the rest of the season. So I give a ton
- 8:22Speaker 9: of credit to head coach Kyle Shanahan for his creative
- 8:26Speaker 9: play calling throughout these first three games of the season,
- 8:30Speaker 9: and really a lot of credit to all the next
- 8:33Speaker 9: men up answering the calls. Not just next man up,
- 8:36Speaker 9: but there's a ton of guys who have really stepped
- 8:38Speaker 9: up in these first three games. And you know, the
- 8:41Speaker 9: team's mentality is whatever it takes, we're going to get
- 8:45Speaker 9: it done. Kyle Yuschek I caught up with him right
- 8:47Speaker 9: after the win on Sunday and he said, whether you
- 8:49Speaker 9: win by one point or forty points, a win is
- 8:52Speaker 9: a win, and they're going to find any way to
- 8:54Speaker 9: get it done.
- 8:57Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 8:58Speaker 1: We are a little familiar with your backup quarterback Mac Jones.
- 9:01Speaker 1: He was here last year. He came in, got two wins.
- 9:03Speaker 1: What's the latest on the quarterback situation? I know brock
- 9:05Speaker 1: Party's working his way back as well.
- 9:07Speaker 9: Yeah, definitely. Mac Jones reaggravated a left knee spring that
- 9:11Speaker 9: he had in the preseason this Sunday against the Cardinals,
- 9:15Speaker 9: and meanwhile, brock Purty is dealing with a toe injury
- 9:18Speaker 9: and an injury to his non throwing shoulders, so he
- 9:21Speaker 9: was limited in practice last week, but we did see
- 9:23Speaker 9: him move around and make some passes. So if the
- 9:26Speaker 9: quarterback situation was any unclear last week, it sure is
- 9:30Speaker 9: a bit more unclear as we head into this week.
- 9:32Speaker 9: But we'll hear from head coach Kyle Shanahan in about
- 9:35Speaker 9: an hour from this time of recording, so we'll definitely
- 9:38Speaker 9: be looking for some more direction there if brock Purty
- 9:40Speaker 9: is healthy enough to return, or if it'll be mac
- 9:43Speaker 9: Jones back under center again against his former team.
- 9:48Speaker 8: Gotcha.
- 9:49Speaker 1: I know you mentioned Nick Bosa unfortunately obviously having that
- 9:51Speaker 1: knee injury, he's out for the year. But what the
- 9:54Speaker 1: forty nine ers I think have always done well is
- 9:55Speaker 1: it's next man up. And when you look at the defense,
- 9:58Speaker 1: he's a big leader on defense. How does the defense
- 10:01Speaker 1: respond without him?
- 10:02Speaker 9: Yeah, I mean cash in Hands said it best. There's
- 10:05Speaker 9: simply no replacing Nick Bosa. The entire D line will
- 10:09Speaker 9: have to step up moving forward. It's going to Tilly.
- 10:12Speaker 9: It's going to take a collective effort to help fill
- 10:15Speaker 9: that void by the All Pro. So you know the
- 10:17Speaker 9: team is looking to rookie first round pick Mikel Williams,
- 10:21Speaker 9: Bryce Huffy, Tor Grossmatos, and Sam oh They're among the
- 10:24Speaker 9: defensive linemen that are expected to help up and step
- 10:28Speaker 9: in and help fill the void there.
- 10:31Speaker 2: Absolutely looking at this matchup. Who are some X factors
- 10:34Speaker 2: for you?
- 10:35Speaker 1: Some players to watch in this game against the Jacks.
- 10:38Speaker 9: Absolutely, Christian McCaffrey. He's a dual threat and he's proven
- 10:42Speaker 9: that last week fifty two yards on the ground eighty
- 10:45Speaker 9: eight through the air. He's being used as a slot
- 10:47Speaker 9: receiver with a lot of our ride receivers being injured
- 10:50Speaker 9: so far. And on the defense, I'd have to point
- 10:52Speaker 9: to that rookie Mikel Williams. With Nick Bosa out, the
- 10:55Speaker 9: defense will be relying on him a ton to rush
- 10:58Speaker 9: the passer. He was extreme, really impressive in training camp
- 11:02Speaker 9: with just his size, his strength and his speed and
- 11:05Speaker 9: he's been getting better each and every week. So with
- 11:09Speaker 9: a lot more on his plate against the Jaguars. I'm
- 11:11Speaker 9: excited to see how he learns to the call on Sunday.
- 11:15Speaker 1: Should be a fun one.
- 11:16Speaker 2: Thank you so much for joining us.
- 11:17Speaker 1: We'll see on Sunday.
- 11:18Speaker 9: Absolutely see Sunday.
- 11:21Speaker 2: Keep with us here on jagxam.
- 11:22Speaker 1: Coming up after the break will give you our predictions
- 11:24Speaker 1: for Sunday's matchup against the forty nine Ers. Jag Zam

- 11:47Speaker 2: Welcome to the future.
- 11:48Speaker 1: We're going to do our very best to predict what
- 11:50Speaker 1: the headlines will be on Monday morning after this matchup
- 11:53Speaker 1: in San Francisco with the forty nine ers. Brian hasn't
- 11:55Speaker 1: gone well in californiayet is this one?
- 11:57Speaker 2: It switches?
- 11:58Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 11:58Speaker 5: Well, I'm optimistic, you know, when the schedule and you
- 12:01Speaker 5: know just kind of thinking, well, you know, here's wins
- 12:03Speaker 5: and losses.
- 12:04Speaker 4: It's very non scientific.
- 12:06Speaker 5: I kind of booked this one for an l because
- 12:07Speaker 5: the Jaggers have just never played well in the Bay area.
- 12:10Speaker 4: They've won an Oakland, They've never won in San Francisco.
- 12:12Speaker 5: The last time they were out there twenty seventeen, they
- 12:15Speaker 5: had a terrific defense and Jimmy Garoppolo.
- 12:19Speaker 4: Who had just gotten into the lineup, just took him apart.
- 12:21Speaker 5: Kyle Shannon had a great plan and that was a
- 12:23Speaker 5: great defense, and they looked helpless against the Niners that day.
- 12:27Speaker 5: But I have a different take on this one because
- 12:30Speaker 5: that team is so beat up, and this team has
- 12:33Speaker 5: shown the fundamentals of being able to run the football,
- 12:36Speaker 5: to be able to take the bowl away.
- 12:38Speaker 4: And stop the run.
- 12:39Speaker 5: So I say third times at charged Jagers have played
- 12:42Speaker 5: in San Francisco three times. They played there in two
- 12:45Speaker 5: thousand and nine at Candlestick Park they lost.
- 12:47Speaker 4: In a big way.
- 12:49Speaker 5: Then they played, as I mentioned, at Levi Stadium twenty seventeen.
- 12:54Speaker 4: So I's had eight seasons ago.
- 12:55Speaker 5: But I think this time, because the Niners are so
- 12:58Speaker 5: beat up and because this team is due some things
- 13:00Speaker 5: well and listening to the coaches and players this week,
- 13:03Speaker 5: I just think this team has the right mindset to
- 13:06Speaker 5: go west and figure it out.
- 13:07Speaker 4: I think things are different this year.
- 13:09Speaker 8: Yeah, I've got Zmaios this week.
- 13:11Speaker 6: You know, it's ridiculous. They've never won there in thirty
- 13:14Speaker 6: one years, pay twice. Yeah, so let's just not have
- 13:18Speaker 6: that be another thing this franchise hasn't done well, So
- 13:22Speaker 6: mine is a little bit different. I share the confidence
- 13:27Speaker 6: that Brian does that they're a different team going out there.
- 13:30Speaker 8: I think they're gonna play well. I think my headlines
- 13:35Speaker 8: on the lines are a bit too tough.
- 13:38Speaker 6: I don't if i'm picking, and I'm neutral, I probably
- 13:42Speaker 6: wouldn't pick them.
- 13:44Speaker 8: But I think it's gonna be very close and thin.
- 13:46Speaker 6: It's gonna be a fourth quarter game, and to me,
- 13:48Speaker 6: the way this franchise has played a lot on on
- 13:50Speaker 6: the West Coast, when it's not going well, they get
- 13:55Speaker 6: rolled right. I think it's gonna be a competitive game
- 13:57Speaker 6: and they're gonna have a chance. It wouldn't surprise me
- 13:59Speaker 6: if they won. I think the forty nine ers are
- 14:02Speaker 6: a team that plays to its own identity very well
- 14:05Speaker 6: and knows how to play. I wonder if this young
- 14:08Speaker 6: team is ready to go do this, but it wouldn't
- 14:12Speaker 6: surprise me.
- 14:13Speaker 8: If they did. I think I think a huge factor is.
- 14:17Speaker 6: Liam Cohen has played against this front or has coached
- 14:19Speaker 6: against this franchise a lot, meaning the forty nine ers,
- 14:23Speaker 6: So I don't think what they do in their approach,
- 14:26Speaker 6: which is unique, is going to surprise the Jaguars. I
- 14:30Speaker 6: think Liam Cohen's presence gives me a huge edge.
- 14:32Speaker 5: I understand exactly where you're coming from, because that's the
- 14:35Speaker 5: way that I felt when I first looked at this.
- 14:37Speaker 5: There's just one other thing I want to say, and
- 14:38Speaker 5: that is when you find a way to win a
- 14:40Speaker 5: game when you're not playing well, and the Jaguars were
- 14:43Speaker 5: not playing well. I had a veteran player tell me
- 14:46Speaker 5: in the locker room the other day that when you
- 14:48Speaker 5: play poorly as they did on offense and you still win,
- 14:52Speaker 5: especially against a team against the Texans that are an
- 14:55Speaker 5: emotional rival as well as a divisional rival, and you do,
- 14:59Speaker 5: the belief level is and I think it's that belief
- 15:01Speaker 5: level in Liam and what they're doing here that gives
- 15:05Speaker 5: me the sense that it's going to be different.
- 15:06Speaker 4: But we'll find out.
- 15:07Speaker 6: No, I'll say this, I'm intrigued, and full disclosure, there's
- 15:11Speaker 6: been games this team's going out to the West Coast
- 15:15Speaker 6: where I was less intrigued and more.
- 15:17Speaker 8: I may as well go ahead and ride it. Right.
- 15:18Speaker 6: So it's a big moment and a big measuring stick.
- 15:23Speaker 6: I can't call it him must win, but it's going
- 15:26Speaker 6: to It's going to be interesting to see how they
- 15:27Speaker 6: handle this.
- 15:28Speaker 8: I think they'll handle it well.
- 15:29Speaker 5: It is worth pointing out, by way, their last game
- 15:31Speaker 5: in California was against the Chargers in twenty twenty three
- 15:34Speaker 5: and they won that one.
- 15:35Speaker 4: So it's not like.
- 15:36Speaker 1: They don't were starting a new we're starting a new role.
- 15:38Speaker 1: Well perhaps, I think the timing is good. Like you said,
- 15:41Speaker 1: banged up team early in the season to make a trip.
- 15:44Speaker 1: I think this is good timing for them. For me,
- 15:46Speaker 1: it's gonna come down to quarterback play. Trevor Lawrence absolutely
- 15:48Speaker 1: has to play well on the road, and this is
- 15:51Speaker 1: a new system.
- 15:51Speaker 2: It'll be difficult. I think he can do it, hopefully does.
- 15:53Speaker 1: But also a quarterback play on the other side, because
- 15:55Speaker 1: whether it's Mac Jones or brock Party, they both banged up.
- 15:58Speaker 1: So for me, how the West was one, Uh, this
- 16:00Speaker 1: is gonna be up to the edge guys getting after
- 16:02Speaker 1: the quarterback. You're gonna continue with the takeaways. I wouldn't
- 16:04Speaker 1: mind a defensive touchdown. I think that would be nice
- 16:06Speaker 1: as well. Maybe a little scoop and score action. But
- 16:09Speaker 1: they're gonna have to get back in then and pressure
- 16:11Speaker 1: that quarterback, whoever that may be. If it is rock Party,
- 16:14Speaker 1: you can't give him time. And mac Jones they're familiar
- 16:18Speaker 1: with so they should be able to handle that, one
- 16:19Speaker 1: would assume, but we don't assume. We just hope for
- 16:22Speaker 1: the best here and I think that's gonna come down
- 16:24Speaker 1: to quarterbacks at the end of the day.
- 16:26Speaker 2: With this matchup, so.
- 16:27Speaker 4: Great headline you went, I went, yeah, that was fast.
- 16:30Speaker 1: Yes, we compete, so I'll put another little notch next
- 16:32Speaker 1: to my name.
- 16:33Speaker 4: So I finally I've been competing all the long, but
- 16:35Speaker 4: now it's in public.
- 16:36Speaker 2: Now they know say this. I'll tell you what's coming
- 16:38Speaker 2: out the rest of the week before the game on Sunday, you're.
- 16:45Speaker 1: On the Jaguars is with travel to San Francisco to
- 16:47Speaker 1: take on the forty nine Ers this Sunday at the
- 16:49Speaker 1: official away game watch party taking place at Mister Chubby's
- 16:52Speaker 1: in Ponna Vidra.
- 16:53Speaker 2: That's the Pawnavibra location of Mister Chubbies.
- 16:56Speaker 1: Jag XAM today also brought to you by Field to
- 16:58Speaker 1: Auto Group, Jacksonvill's premier Leagerey Auto Group head over to
- 17:01Speaker 1: Fields Auto dot.
- 17:02Speaker 2: Com San Francisco.
- 17:05Speaker 1: Would absolutely be at mister Chubb's and Pondvitro because I
- 17:08Speaker 1: love their snacks.
- 17:09Speaker 2: They bring him in on Monday Monday.
- 17:11Speaker 8: Yeah, they really good.
- 17:14Speaker 1: When we look at this game, obviously, tons of injuries
- 17:17Speaker 1: on both sides, so it's a little hard to say
- 17:18Speaker 1: exactly what it's going to look like for Usmy Brown's
- 17:22Speaker 1: not practicing, but forty nine ers, they've got injuries all
- 17:24Speaker 1: up and down. Is it just one of Is this
- 17:27Speaker 1: one of those franchises though, where it doesn't matter who's
- 17:29Speaker 1: necessarily playing, it's you kind of know whe a Kyle
- 17:32Speaker 1: Shanahan team will be prepared no matter what I think.
- 17:34Speaker 4: Shanahan is a genius.
- 17:37Speaker 5: Eric Armstead and I had this conversation in the locker
- 17:39Speaker 5: room yesterday. The guy does so much with personnel groups
- 17:43Speaker 5: and with motions and formations. If you watch the Broncos
- 17:47Speaker 5: back in the nineties and two thousands when his dad
- 17:49Speaker 5: was the head coach there, you saw the same thing.
- 17:51Speaker 5: It's easier to execute when you've got John Elway, perhaps
- 17:54Speaker 5: than trying to figure out whether it's Purty or mac Jones.
- 17:57Speaker 4: But he just it doesn't matter.
- 17:59Speaker 5: He just seems to get the most out of what
- 18:01Speaker 5: he's got Offensively. We'll see defensively, Nick Bosa is a superstar.
- 18:06Speaker 5: When you don't have that off of one side, it
- 18:08Speaker 5: allows offensive coordinators to make adjustments to their protection schemes
- 18:12Speaker 5: and things, and we'll find out what their defense looks like.
- 18:15Speaker 6: Yeah, and you know, I love Shanahan as a call
- 18:18Speaker 6: as a play caller as well. But to me, what's
- 18:20Speaker 6: just as impressive is think about the last what he's
- 18:23Speaker 6: been there. I think eight or nine years, I'm not
- 18:25Speaker 6: sure what, but it seems like every year the storyline
- 18:28Speaker 6: out of there is the adversity they deal with. There
- 18:33Speaker 6: used to be in this situation because they're beat up
- 18:35Speaker 6: a lot, and yet most years they fight through that
- 18:39Speaker 6: and figure out a way to compete, which shows me
- 18:42Speaker 6: he's got the team, he's got a locker room. So
- 18:47Speaker 6: I guess when I see a forty nine ers injury report,
- 18:49Speaker 6: I almost ignore it because it seems.
- 18:52Speaker 8: Like they play well no matter what.
- 18:55Speaker 6: It might be a similar game to last week, and again,
- 19:00Speaker 6: to me, if the Jaguars win this, then I come
- 19:03Speaker 6: back to Jacksonville thinking this team's got a chance.
- 19:05Speaker 8: Making the playoffs.
- 19:07Speaker 6: So I think they still do, but boy does this
- 19:11Speaker 6: set them up and show me that they can go
- 19:13Speaker 6: out and pass a tough test.
- 19:14Speaker 9: Well.
- 19:15Speaker 5: Obviously this is a big game for them because when
- 19:17Speaker 5: you look at Kansas City and you know what you're
- 19:18Speaker 5: getting there, and then Seattle is a really good team,
- 19:21Speaker 5: and then you go to London to play the Rams.
- 19:22Speaker 8: Who are a really good team, and it felt hard, right?
- 19:24Speaker 4: Yeah? Yeah, really is.
- 19:25Speaker 5: This stretch of schedule is as challenging as I could
- 19:28Speaker 5: remember in recent memory.
- 19:29Speaker 1: It's gonna be a good one no matter what. Make
- 19:31Speaker 1: sure you tune in on Sunday to check out that game.
- 19:33Speaker 1: We will be back on Tuesday to go or everything
- 19:36Speaker 1: for you from the weekend. We get a late play back,
- 19:38Speaker 1: we'll check it on Tuesday to recap that game.
- 19:40Speaker 2: Enjoy it.
