- 0:12Speaker 1: It's time we're gonna do the naughty but nice hum Yeah,
- 0:16Speaker 1: hot Rob Shooter. And it is Wednesday. Normally, our dear
- 0:20Speaker 1: friend Donnie Meacham joined us on a Wednesday, but he's
- 0:24Speaker 1: having a day off this week. Donnie, I know you're listening.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Hello and love alow my friend. I hope you're having
- 0:30Speaker 1: a fabulous day. Okay, let's jump into the show. What
- 0:35Speaker 1: time is it, my friends? It is tea time. Big
- 0:38Speaker 1: story at the top of the show, an exclusive. So
- 0:41Speaker 1: Gwenneth Paltrow is deadly serious about a new candle that
- 0:45Speaker 1: smells like her ass. Yes you heard that right. This
- 0:50Speaker 1: is not a joke. Gweneth Peltrow is actively toying with
- 0:56Speaker 1: the idea of launching a follow up to her now
- 1:00Speaker 1: legendary This smells like my vagina candle, and this time
- 1:06Speaker 1: it's all about the back. SOAUSS tell me, can you
- 1:10Speaker 1: believe we're doing this story? So as is done, we
- 1:13Speaker 1: quote Gredeth's not stupid. She's better at making headlines than
- 1:19Speaker 1: health products. And that's the goop modeler a candle like this,
- 1:23Speaker 1: it guarantees outrage, absolutely and millions of dollars in earned
- 1:28Speaker 1: media before it even hits the shells now. Let's not
- 1:32Speaker 1: forget the original Vagina candle broke the Internet. It's sold
- 1:37Speaker 1: out instantly and it's been resold for four hundred dollars
- 1:41Speaker 1: on eBay. It had nothing to do with self care
- 1:45Speaker 1: and everything to do with sensationalism, and Paltrow knows exactly
- 1:53Speaker 1: how to bottle that lightning again. So it smells like
- 1:57Speaker 1: my we'll say bottom that she's gonna says. It would
- 2:01Speaker 1: be the ultimate attention grabber, Perfectly timed as it always
- 2:06Speaker 1: is with Gwyneth to reignite Goop's bus as it faces
- 2:12Speaker 1: increasing competition from celebrity brands like skims Kin, Kardashians and
- 2:19Speaker 1: Rare Beauty. And also to Megan Markham, what do you
- 2:22Speaker 1: think about this one? Gwyneth makes me smile. She can
- 2:24Speaker 1: be so annoying, but she can also be very, very funny.
- 2:27Speaker 1: I remember when she originally did this candle that smelt
- 2:31Speaker 1: like her private parts. It is so silly, so outrageous.
- 2:34Speaker 1: I've never smelted, but it got her a ton of
- 2:38Speaker 1: press and really put Goop on the map. Sources I
- 2:42Speaker 1: spoke to such as an absolute brilliant, genius marketing expert.
- 2:47Speaker 1: She knows how to get us talking Goop, even though
- 2:51Speaker 1: it is almost a billion dollar brand, when he first started,
- 2:54Speaker 1: it did not have a lot of money. It did
- 2:56Speaker 1: not have a big ad budget. They couldn't buy ads
- 2:59Speaker 1: on some ways in magazines, they couldn't buy apps on websites.
- 3:03Speaker 1: And so the way that they got publicity, the way
- 3:06Speaker 1: that they got all this attention, was by being outrageous. Well,
- 3:12Speaker 1: Gweneb's greatest selling Goop product is going to have a
- 3:16Speaker 1: part two. It's like the movies. If you have a
- 3:18Speaker 1: big hit movie, the second movie is going to be
- 3:21Speaker 1: a hit, and then if that's a hit, they do
- 3:22Speaker 1: a third and a fourth. These franchises exist not because
- 3:26Speaker 1: they necessarily want to entertain us, but they make money.
- 3:29Speaker 1: And so Gwenneth's original candle made a ton of money
- 3:33Speaker 1: for Goop, got millions of dollars in free ads. So
- 3:35Speaker 1: why not do a follow up? Now? If it smells
- 3:39Speaker 1: like your front that that's been done, So what would
- 3:42Speaker 1: be next? Gwyneth is betting on her bottom, which brings
- 3:47Speaker 1: us to that whole question of the day. Gwyneth Peltrow
- 3:51Speaker 1: is dead serious about inventing a candle, putting out a candle.
- 3:55Speaker 1: That quote smells like my bottom. She's gonna use a
- 3:59Speaker 1: different word. Would you buy this? Do you want to smell?
- 4:04Speaker 1: Gwenouth Peltrose ass Oh good? Grieve? Go vote on our
- 4:09Speaker 1: Twitter page had naughteen Knights rob or a Facebook page
- 4:12Speaker 1: Nordi Gossip and be sure to check back to morrow
- 4:16Speaker 1: to hear your results. Now we've had a little giggle,
- 4:19Speaker 1: a little bit of fun, let's jump into this story
- 4:21Speaker 1: a little bit more serious here. So Jessica Simpson is
- 4:23Speaker 1: heartbroken after her brutal American Idol come back. No sales,
- 4:29Speaker 1: no redemption. So Jessica Simpson's long awaited return to the
- 4:34Speaker 1: spotlight it fell flat, and insiders are saying that the
- 4:37Speaker 1: backlash has left her devastated. So sources tell me that
- 4:41Speaker 1: the singer turned entrepreneur is absolutely heartbroken by the harsh
- 4:46Speaker 1: reception to her performance on American Idol Season twenty three,
- 4:51Speaker 1: for ginally her first TV appearance in over fifteen years,
- 4:55Speaker 1: and perhaps more unsettling, it didn't move the needle on
- 5:00Speaker 1: record sales either, sources tell me quote jess truly believed
- 5:06Speaker 1: this would relaunch her music career. It's a huge show,
- 5:08Speaker 1: lots of people watch it, but instead it became a
- 5:11Speaker 1: public roast and the fact that the performance didn't translate
- 5:14Speaker 1: into single sales, not a bump, no more radio play.
- 5:18Speaker 1: It is absolutely crushing. I used to work for Jessica Simpson.
- 5:21Speaker 1: I really like her, and she has poured her heart
- 5:23Speaker 1: and soul into this new album. She considers herself a singer,
- 5:27Speaker 1: not a reality star. She started as a singer. Music
- 5:31Speaker 1: is her first love. Performing is her first love. Yes,
- 5:34Speaker 1: she made a ton of money selling shoes and all
- 5:36Speaker 1: that other stuff from her clothing line, but it's music
- 5:39Speaker 1: that's what she loves. In fact, she was a singer
- 5:42Speaker 1: when Newlyweds, the reality show, came along and changed her life.
- 5:46Speaker 1: And one of the reasons she signed up to do
- 5:47Speaker 1: Newlyweds was to promote her recording career. And now we
- 5:51Speaker 1: all know what happened. Nobody really cared about the performing career.
- 5:55Speaker 1: We just all fell in love with jess A reality
- 5:57Speaker 1: star was born, and because of that she made almost
- 6:00Speaker 1: a billion dollars. So don't feel bad for her here,
- 6:02Speaker 1: but she really does want to come back now with
- 6:05Speaker 1: this album. It's gonna be so hard. It's gonna be
- 6:09Speaker 1: so so hard for Jessica to sell albums. She's been
- 6:13Speaker 1: away for fifteen years. The music business just does not
- 6:17Speaker 1: work like that. Wouldn't you go away, even if it's
- 6:19Speaker 1: for a few years. Look at Katy Perry. Kady Perry
- 6:21Speaker 1: went away for a few years. She did American Idol
- 6:24Speaker 1: and her album bombed. It didn't do so well. So
- 6:26Speaker 1: I'm looking at the numbers for Jessica. They're not good.
- 6:30Speaker 1: They're not good. Maybe if she goes on tour, maybe
- 6:33Speaker 1: that will help. But then again, we can't compare her
- 6:37Speaker 1: to Taylor's if we can't compare jazz to Beyonce. It's
- 6:40Speaker 1: a different type of vibe, it's a different place in
- 6:43Speaker 1: her career. She took a long time away. I'm told
- 6:46Speaker 1: the album's great, it's all done, it's finished. I hear
- 6:49Speaker 1: she sounds great. Goodness knows she can sing, She really,
- 6:52Speaker 1: really really can sing. She's a trivic singer. She's a
- 6:55Speaker 1: great performer. So fingers crossed here. But it must be
- 6:57Speaker 1: so heartbreaking. You do a big show and you expect
- 7:00Speaker 1: your life to change. You'd do American Idol and you
- 7:03Speaker 1: expect suddenly you're going to be back on top. Everyone's
- 7:05Speaker 1: going to be screaming and shouting your name. Didn't happen.
- 7:09Speaker 1: In fact, it was really was the opposite of that.
- 7:12Speaker 1: People were saying Jess's name for all the wrong reasons.
- 7:16Speaker 1: When Jessica performs, she makes a lot of faces, and
- 7:19Speaker 1: some people find those unattractive, not very flattering. I think
- 7:22Speaker 1: she looks great up there, but none exploding. You will
- 7:27Speaker 1: you give jess another chance? Now, let's be honest here.
- 7:29Speaker 1: She's never had those huge hits. Your boots are made
- 7:33Speaker 1: for book walking, My boots are made for walking. The
- 7:36Speaker 1: Nancy Sinatra song is probably her biggest hit. She did
- 7:39Speaker 1: a cover of that. I couldn't really tell you many
- 7:42Speaker 1: other Jessica Simpson songs and I worked with her. I
- 7:45Speaker 1: was around her a lot. I was at video shoots
- 7:47Speaker 1: Public Affair. That was the video shoot I was at
- 7:49Speaker 1: with Eva Longoria and jess It was such a fun day.
- 7:52Speaker 1: She was so great in it. Single tanked and then
- 7:54Speaker 1: the album didn't sell either. So if Jessica wasn't selling
- 7:58Speaker 1: albums twenty years ago, why would she be say telling
- 8:00Speaker 1: albums now? I love that this is her passion. I
- 8:02Speaker 1: love she wanted to do it, but don't expect great numbers. Okay,
- 8:06Speaker 1: moving along, Meghan Markel scrapped plans for a big anniversary party.
- 8:11Speaker 1: We told you yesterday that Meghan and Harry celebrated their
- 8:14Speaker 1: seventh wedding anniversary with a really beautiful sentimental Instagram post. However,
- 8:21Speaker 1: behind the scenes, plans for a glitzy bash quietly fell apart.
- 8:27Speaker 1: Sources tell me quote that it was meant to be
- 8:31Speaker 1: a huge celebration, but the guest list wasn't coming together.
- 8:36Speaker 1: The truth is their social circle has got smaller and smaller,
- 8:40Speaker 1: and Meghan knew the room would not really before and
- 8:44Speaker 1: so instead of doing this big, massive party, it was
- 8:47Speaker 1: a much more intimate, private affair, just Meghan, Harry and
- 8:51Speaker 1: the family. They had a private dinner in their fabulous
- 8:55Speaker 1: home in Montecitos, some friends there, but it was not
- 8:58Speaker 1: a big party inside does add quote. They just don't
- 9:02Speaker 1: move in those cirtles anymore and Montecito isn't the social
- 9:07Speaker 1: magnet they thought it would be. So Oprah, the Beckhams,
- 9:11Speaker 1: all these people. The cluone is all these people that
- 9:14Speaker 1: were invited to the wedding seven years ago. They weren't
- 9:17Speaker 1: invited because they were best friends. They were invited because
- 9:20Speaker 1: Meghan and Harry wanted to become friends with these people.
- 9:24Speaker 1: It never works out like that, does it. If you
- 9:26Speaker 1: do a list of people you want to be friends with,
- 9:29Speaker 1: probably not gonna work out. It has to be organic.
- 9:31Speaker 1: You have to meet them, maybe through work, maybe socially.
- 9:34Speaker 1: You have to become friends. Recently, Gwyneth Paltrow was asked
- 9:37Speaker 1: about Mega. Remember they did that little video together, and
- 9:41Speaker 1: so she said, we're just sort of texting each other.
- 9:43Speaker 1: I don't really know her that well. So you think
- 9:46Speaker 1: that they live this really huge life in California. Best
- 9:49Speaker 1: friends with Beyonce, best friends with Oprah, best friends with
- 9:52Speaker 1: George Clooney. Not true. It's a very small life. They
- 9:55Speaker 1: have a beautiful life in a magnificent home, a fourteen
- 9:57Speaker 1: million dollar home, but they don't have hundreds and hundreds
- 10:01Speaker 1: of friends. And so why do a big party when
- 10:03Speaker 1: you just don't have that many friends to turn up
- 10:06Speaker 1: and celebrate. And we know to family is not coming.
- 10:09Speaker 1: Family is not coming to this. Personally, I like a
- 10:12Speaker 1: small party. Bruce and I are celebrating our anniversary very
- 10:17Speaker 1: soon on June fourth, and it's just gonna be the
- 10:20Speaker 1: two of us. I know, no big party, no massive dinner,
- 10:24Speaker 1: none of that stuff. We're not going to go away
- 10:26Speaker 1: on a trip. It's going to be the two of us,
- 10:28Speaker 1: and we're gonna go for a really romantic dinner in
- 10:30Speaker 1: New York. And you know what, that's what I want.
- 10:33Speaker 1: I'd rather be with Bruce than anybody else. And so
- 10:37Speaker 1: that's a night for us. So there's no shame here,
- 10:39Speaker 1: Megan Harry, if you're listening, Hello, Hello, Alone, I just
- 10:42Speaker 1: wish you didn't want these celebrity friends that much. I
- 10:46Speaker 1: have very few, very few. I have one or two
- 10:49Speaker 1: celebrity ish friends. They're big stars, but the issues on
- 10:52Speaker 1: the friends, they're more colleagues or people I know, we're
- 10:55Speaker 1: not really that that close. And I gotta tell you
- 10:59Speaker 1: nor to is the celebrities that I've hung out with
- 11:01Speaker 1: the most not that nice. I would not tolerate the
- 11:06Speaker 1: behavior I tolerate from some famous people from anybody else.
- 11:10Speaker 1: I literally look at some people, I'm like, my goodness,
- 11:13Speaker 1: if you weren't famous, I wouldn't talk to you at all.
- 11:15Speaker 1: And so I use them a little bit. They use
- 11:17Speaker 1: me a little bit for my column, for my voice,
- 11:20Speaker 1: for all the gossip that I do, but not really
- 11:23Speaker 1: that close, and for a good reason, not that nice.
- 11:26Speaker 1: I've never really met somebody that I really wanted to
- 11:30Speaker 1: be friends with. That is super super Oprah type famous.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Oh Megan, I hope you had a wonderful, wonderful day. Okay.
- 11:39Speaker 1: Moving along Lauren Sanchez and Jeff Bezos Is it's wedding time,
- 11:43Speaker 1: very soon, and I'm told that guests and staff guests,
- 11:47Speaker 1: not just staff. Guests and staff are required to sign
- 11:51Speaker 1: a non disclosure agreement. So Lauren and Jeff are sparing
- 11:55Speaker 1: no expense on their lavish Venetian wedding. It's going to
- 11:59Speaker 1: be in next month, and that includes locking down every
- 12:03Speaker 1: single guest and staffer with a strict non disclosure agreement.
- 12:08Speaker 1: Sources tell me that all the wedding attendees, including guests
- 12:12Speaker 1: like Kim Kardashian, Oprah, Katy Perry, Leonardo DiCaprio, have all
- 12:17Speaker 1: been asked as to sign non disclosure agreements covering everything
- 12:21Speaker 1: from private conversations to photographs and videos. No photographs, no videos.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Even the florists, I'm told, have to sign a non
- 12:29Speaker 1: disclosure Nobody is allowed to speak to the press, post
- 12:33Speaker 1: anything on social media, or hint at any of the
- 12:36Speaker 1: details before or during or after the ceremony. Laraen and
- 12:41Speaker 1: Jeff are going to put out a photograph. I'm told
- 12:43Speaker 1: they've been in talks with Vogue magazine, but that's not
- 12:46Speaker 1: going to come out for three months, so they're going
- 12:49Speaker 1: to want to get a picture out after the wedding.
- 12:51Speaker 1: Needs to enjoy press. They enjoy publicity, so I expect
- 12:55Speaker 1: there will be an official picture. But they want to
- 12:57Speaker 1: choose the picture. Not Kim Kardashian, not a solo celebrity.
- 13:00Speaker 1: There they can't pick. They're gonna pick at themselves, the happy,
- 13:04Speaker 1: happy couple. So non disclosure agreements to a wedding sounds strange,
- 13:09Speaker 1: doesn't it okay? Quickly before we go to break, I
- 13:12Speaker 1: hear Diddy's doctors are scrambling after prescriptions spark a panic.
- 13:17Speaker 1: So did these doctors, the people who helped the disgraced
- 13:21Speaker 1: rap mogul get drugs under fake aliases, are in full
- 13:26Speaker 1: blown panic mode as federal investigators zero in on one inside,
- 13:31Speaker 1: as are calling a proscription fraud, conspiracy tied to Diddy.
- 13:38Speaker 1: Sources tell me quote doctors are scrambling, calling lawyers, shredding records,
- 13:44Speaker 1: and distancing themselves very very quickly. They never thought it
- 13:48Speaker 1: would all come out in court, but now everybody in
- 13:51Speaker 1: the Beverly Hills medical communities all talking about this. The
- 13:55Speaker 1: alarm bells went off after prosecutors unveiled damaging images from
- 14:01Speaker 1: Diddy's twenty twenty four hotel arrest. Pill bottles. Prescription pill
- 14:06Speaker 1: bottles were labeled quote Frank Black. That's his name that
- 14:10Speaker 1: he goes by when he checks into a hotel. When
- 14:12Speaker 1: he's traveling, he uses the name Frank Black. Well, you
- 14:16Speaker 1: can check into a hotel under a pseudonym, a different name, lot,
- 14:20Speaker 1: so let celebrities do this. In fact, the names can
- 14:23Speaker 1: be quite funny. Sir Elton John's name is Sir Dick Huntington.
- 14:27Speaker 1: I'll leave it at that same more. But they come
- 14:29Speaker 1: up with these elaborate names. Did His name was Frank
- 14:32Speaker 1: Frank Black. However, you can check into a hotel with
- 14:36Speaker 1: a fake name, but you can't get a prescription with
- 14:39Speaker 1: a fake name. So they found a bag of pink
- 14:42Speaker 1: powder identified as MDNA, a drug, and also to prescription
- 14:48Speaker 1: drugs under this different name. It all feels very Michael
- 14:52Speaker 1: Jackson doctor shopping, going from doctor to doctor to doctor
- 14:56Speaker 1: to get a prescription and then get in a prescription
- 14:59Speaker 1: under a fake name. That's against the law. And the
- 15:04Speaker 1: doctors who prescribed. These fake prescriptions could be will be
- 15:10Speaker 1: in a lot of trouble. Okay, we're gonna take a
- 15:13Speaker 1: quick break and we will be right back. Welcome back
- 15:16Speaker 1: to the nauty but nic sham your hens from shooter. Hey,
- 15:18Speaker 1: let's get to the polls that the lat show we
- 15:21Speaker 1: talked about. Didd He is furious about the lack of
- 15:23Speaker 1: support outside the cord has lack of support. Not many
- 15:27Speaker 1: people are showing up. He thought thousands and thousands of
- 15:29Speaker 1: people would be there. They're not there. There has been
- 15:33Speaker 1: some suggestions, particularly on social media, that he might be
- 15:36Speaker 1: paying people to wear T shirts or to show up.
- 15:38Speaker 1: What do you think? Is this smart or is this pathetic?
- 15:42Speaker 1: Let's have a look. Seventy nine percent said prophetic. Okay,
- 15:47Speaker 1: don't forget to vote on today's bowl at Twitter page
- 15:50Speaker 1: at Naughty Nice rob Our facebook page is Naughty Gossip
- 15:54Speaker 1: and be sure to check back to mother Rahuer to
- 15:57Speaker 1: hear your results. And now, wow, it's time for the
- 16:01Speaker 1: nicest of the day. Oh, and nicest of the day
- 16:05Speaker 1: noughties is you? You guys have been so supportive over
- 16:10Speaker 1: me throughout the years, the podcast, the book, and now
- 16:13Speaker 1: the substack. Sometimes I feel like I ask too much,
- 16:17Speaker 1: and yet you are always there, willing, happy, you want
- 16:22Speaker 1: to help, and I appreciate that. From the books to
- 16:26Speaker 1: the podcast A nice substack. Ah, I've started substack. So
- 16:31Speaker 1: substack is a publishing site where you can go on
- 16:35Speaker 1: and publish news, essays, projects, gossip all day long. And
- 16:40Speaker 1: I've been playing with it now for about a month
- 16:42Speaker 1: and I've finally after about four or five weeks, hit
- 16:45Speaker 1: my stride. I know the formula. It's two to three
- 16:48Speaker 1: newsletters throughout the day, one in the morning, one around noonish,
- 16:53Speaker 1: and one in the evening. And each newsletter has between
- 16:56Speaker 1: three or four items in the big news of the day,
- 16:58Speaker 1: and that's all you need to read that day. So
- 17:00Speaker 1: in three emails you're getting one, two, three, four, five, six, seven,
- 17:04Speaker 1: eight nine, potentially ten short news items a day. They
- 17:08Speaker 1: are easy to read. They're very very short headline two
- 17:12Speaker 1: three hundred words and then another item. So thank you,
- 17:16Speaker 1: thank you, thank you. If you are on substack, check
- 17:19Speaker 1: me out, Rob Shuter. If you're not on substack, it's
- 17:23Speaker 1: free to joy in and if you subscribe for free
- 17:27Speaker 1: to my newsletter, you will get it emailed to you
- 17:30Speaker 1: every time it posts, which is two to three times
- 17:33Speaker 1: a day. The nicest of the day, it's you naughty's
- 17:37Speaker 1: and now and not is the day naughty, naughty? I
- 17:40Speaker 1: noticed of the day is trauma, childhood trauma in particular.
- 17:46Speaker 1: So Madonna's in a very dark place again, consumed by
- 17:49Speaker 1: the grief that her mother died when she was just
- 17:53Speaker 1: five years old. So sources tell me that Madonna is
- 17:56Speaker 1: in a really bad place. She's really depressed at the moment,
- 18:00Speaker 1: and all this is really bubbling up because she changed
- 18:02Speaker 1: the color of her hair. She went dark. It's a wig,
- 18:05Speaker 1: I'm told, But she wore this dark wig as a
- 18:08Speaker 1: tribute to her mother, who died when she was very
- 18:13Speaker 1: very young, too too young. Her name was Madonna Louise.
- 18:16Speaker 1: That was the mom's name. She was named after her mommy.
- 18:19Speaker 1: She died of breast cancer when Madonna was just five
- 18:23Speaker 1: years old. Inside of say, she's unraveling and she's never
- 18:27Speaker 1: really processed this loss. Maybe that's why she went on
- 18:30Speaker 1: to be one of the most famous people in the world.
- 18:32Speaker 1: All that pain and they said that it is buried.
- 18:35Speaker 1: She has buried herself in work, fame and reinvention. But
- 18:40Speaker 1: after almost dying last year, it's all come flooding back.
- 18:45Speaker 1: Remember Madonna as hospital lies last year, in a bad shape.
- 18:48Speaker 1: She's in a bad shape again, and insiders are saying
- 18:51Speaker 1: it's because she never processed what happened to her mom. Heartbreaking. Okay,
- 18:57Speaker 1: let's end with something a little bit more inspiring. Moment
- 19:00Speaker 1: a rob You're gonna rub, you gonna rub, you gonna rub,
- 19:02Speaker 1: you gonna ub. A private life with your favorite people
- 19:05Speaker 1: is a happy life. It doesn't need to be loud
- 19:08Speaker 1: to be fulfilling, and it doesn't need to be posted
- 19:10Speaker 1: on social media to be real. Peace lives in privacy.
- 19:14Speaker 1: Happiness is found in the quiet moments, the inside jokes,
- 19:19Speaker 1: the deep talks, the unfiltered love. When you keep your
