- 0:31Speaker 1: So come on in and stay. We'll do our best
- 0:34Speaker 1: to make use my We.
- 0:36Speaker 2: The indoors Man.
- 0:40Speaker 1: Hello, I'm Rob Lundquezt I'm boogs Hen. We are the
- 0:45Speaker 1: Avid Indoorsment. Hi everybody. Hello, Ay you doing pal, I'm
- 0:51Speaker 1: doing great. I'm doing great. For the folks who aren't
- 0:56Speaker 1: watching this, our listeners, we have a friend actually shorn
- 1:01Speaker 1: bugs over here. That's the first time I've seen his
- 1:05Speaker 1: chin and sometimes sometime it's been a long time.
- 1:08Speaker 3: I think was the last time, I I don't even know,
- 1:13Speaker 3: like probably college, oh for sure, but.
- 1:19Speaker 1: In two thousand and six maybe, yeah, I feel like
- 1:22Speaker 1: even then you usually had a little something on the chin.
- 1:25Speaker 4: Yeah, it was.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Probably like two thousand and five. Yeah, because I think
- 1:29Speaker 1: that's about the last time my chin was showing for
- 1:34Speaker 1: Sweeney Todd, and then before that it was for guys
- 1:36Speaker 1: and dolls.
- 1:37Speaker 3: And I've gone short before, but I think there's always
- 1:39Speaker 3: at least something there.
- 1:41Speaker 1: Yeah, and certainly I've never like left the chops like this,
- 1:44Speaker 1: like you got the job. So tell the folks why
- 1:48Speaker 1: you're why you look this way.
- 1:49Speaker 3: I think we've mentioned it. It has already happened at
- 1:52Speaker 3: the point you're hearing this. But it did a Blues
- 1:55Speaker 3: Brothers tribute and in when when we're recording this, it's tomorrow.
- 2:02Speaker 1: So I really got into it.
- 2:05Speaker 3: We had our first rehearsal, our only rehearsal last night.
- 2:07Speaker 1: It went well. I saw a clip of it. One
- 2:11Speaker 1: of the buddies that is in it, Yeah, posted something
- 2:16Speaker 1: and so I got to see his starting off soul man. Yeah.
- 2:19Speaker 3: Yeah, man, it was fun. It was fun.
- 2:22Speaker 1: That's gonna be great.
- 2:22Speaker 3: Tom Bones Malone is playing who he does all kinds
- 2:26Speaker 3: of these, I guess, which is kind of fun. He
- 2:29Speaker 3: was in the original Blues Brothers band and in the movies,
- 2:32Speaker 3: and so it was pretty cool. He's a nice guy.
- 2:35Speaker 3: It was fun. Man, it was wild, but it was fun.
- 2:38Speaker 4: I'm excited to check it out.
- 2:39Speaker 1: I got to go to my daughter's softball game, and
- 2:43Speaker 1: I'm going to drive separately, so then afterwards you're gonna
- 2:45Speaker 1: split right out. I can make my way over there. Nice.
- 2:48Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm excited for you to see it.
- 2:50Speaker 1: We'll see.
- 2:51Speaker 3: I think it's gonna be good. Oh, we'll see. They're
- 2:53Speaker 3: going to be great. Yeah, we'll see what happens.
- 2:55Speaker 1: I love that music so much.
- 2:56Speaker 3: I was very relieved when everyone was like, oh, no,
- 2:59Speaker 3: we're going to have like lyrics up there, and I
- 3:02Speaker 3: was like.
- 3:02Speaker 1: Oh, wow, dude, you got nothing to worry about that.
- 3:06Speaker 3: Well, then I've been a friend to memorize all this stuff,
- 3:09Speaker 3: so this is great. I mean, I you'll feel way
- 3:12Speaker 3: better about it though, you know what I mean, like
- 3:15Speaker 3: just having that there in case, you know, or to
- 3:17Speaker 3: be like.
- 3:19Speaker 1: Because all those Blue songs have so many words.
- 3:22Speaker 3: Dude, they're rhyming couplets and things, and there's a bunch
- 3:25Speaker 3: I didn't know. But it's gonna be super fun. I
- 3:27Speaker 3: think it's a very silly, silly fun time and Box
- 3:30Speaker 3: is the best, so it's gonna be great.
- 3:31Speaker 1: Box is the absolute best that me. Fitzgerald has a
- 3:36Speaker 1: ton of lyrics, and for the first like ten times
- 3:39Speaker 1: we did it, I put out a sheet of paper
- 3:42Speaker 1: on the stage that just had the beginning of each
- 3:46Speaker 1: like first and so then just having that little safety
- 3:51Speaker 1: blanket really helped, just in case.
- 3:53Speaker 3: I relax and not think about it so much, which
- 3:57Speaker 3: like works against you.
- 3:58Speaker 1: I feel like you know a lot of time. But
- 4:01Speaker 1: those songs that like really mean a lot to people. Now,
- 4:04Speaker 1: these are all bluesy fun songs like Bemphis, gerald Is the.
- 4:07Speaker 4: End of the weans a lot to a lot of folks.
- 4:10Speaker 1: So it's like, I can't, I can't, But it's gonna
- 4:15Speaker 1: be really fun, dude. I'm excited to check it out.
- 4:17Speaker 1: You and Box are gonna be great, bros. It's gonna
- 4:20Speaker 1: be silly. The cocaine budget is huge, so we'll be okay,
- 4:24Speaker 1: it's huge, huge, It's huge. I think I might get
- 4:27Speaker 1: an orange whip when I'm there.
- 4:28Speaker 3: Orange whip, look at you. I'll take fried chickens and
- 4:33Speaker 3: a coke.
- 4:34Speaker 1: There it is and what does he say? Dry white
- 4:36Speaker 1: toast that?
- 4:39Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 4:39Speaker 3: Oh man, yeah, man, it should be fun. Have you
- 4:44Speaker 3: been watching any films lately?
- 4:46Speaker 1: I watched a film this very day on your recommendation.
- 4:52Speaker 1: The kids are out of school now, and it was
- 4:54Speaker 1: a rainy day today and so I brought them to
- 4:57Speaker 1: the theater. Awesome, and we got to enjoy the sheep
- 5:02Speaker 1: detectives O fun.
- 5:04Speaker 3: I want to hear.
- 5:05Speaker 1: So were they cool with it? Was anything too scary?
- 5:09Speaker 1: So Charlie wasn't stoked, just about the whole kind of
- 5:14Speaker 1: vibe of it being about like a murders that I
- 5:18Speaker 1: get that. And the actor Hugh Jackman plays the shepherd
- 5:22Speaker 1: that gets murdered in the first ten minutes of the movie,
- 5:26Speaker 1: which we all know from the trailer. He was just
- 5:30Speaker 1: so stoked because we saw The Greatest Showman a couple
- 5:32Speaker 1: of weeks ago, so he was like, Hey, I know
- 5:35Speaker 1: I love this guy and then he's gone, Oh, so
- 5:38Speaker 1: he didn't. He didn't love that, but he was like
- 5:40Speaker 1: cool throughout the whole movie and was like into the movie.
- 5:43Speaker 1: But afterwards he was just like, yeah, I didn't look
- 5:46Speaker 1: that premise kind of bummed me out. Yeah, or thinking
- 5:48Speaker 1: about that premise, sir. But so many tender parts in
- 5:52Speaker 1: that movie, Like I was, I was.
- 5:55Speaker 3: Getting choked up a few times sentimental that movie, and
- 5:58Speaker 3: it really is.
- 6:00Speaker 1: I I really loved it. I did too. I really
- 6:03Speaker 1: liked it.
- 6:04Speaker 4: Like I really really liked it.
- 6:06Speaker 1: I would do an episode on it if we ever
- 6:08Speaker 1: wanted to. I think it's really fun, same, very sweet, funny,
- 6:12Speaker 1: it's sweet. It's a fun murder mystery too. To boot
- 6:19Speaker 1: and all of those voices.
- 6:20Speaker 4: I'm not going to go through all of them. Check
- 6:22Speaker 4: out your IMDb.
- 6:23Speaker 1: They're so good too, there's a ton of them. Yeah.
- 6:27Speaker 1: We had a great time, and the theater is great.
- 6:30Speaker 1: You can lift the arm rests up and so I
- 6:33Speaker 1: was straight up. I had both the kiddos under the
- 6:37Speaker 1: arm We brought a blanket. It was so cold in there, lovely,
- 6:42Speaker 1: and I was so glad that we brought a blanket
- 6:44Speaker 1: and it was just due. It was a great, wonderful
- 6:46Speaker 1: we went at ten am. What a memory. I love that.
- 6:49Speaker 1: That's great.
- 6:50Speaker 4: It was great.
- 6:51Speaker 1: I really had a good time with its good recommendation.
- 6:54Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I thought was really fun. I'm glad you
- 6:56Speaker 3: enjoyed very much.
- 6:58Speaker 1: Have you seen any movies lately? Yeah.
- 7:00Speaker 3: I saw one that I had never seen before. It
- 7:02Speaker 3: was A Hole in the Repertoire from two thousand and three.
- 7:06Speaker 3: I saw a Mighty wind nice.
- 7:10Speaker 1: That's so funny because I watched the Christopher Guest movies
- 7:14Speaker 1: I hadn't seen pretty really right as well. Yeah, I
- 7:17Speaker 1: don't know what compelled me. I just saw it.
- 7:20Speaker 3: No, I saw someone referenced it because I had to
- 7:23Speaker 3: rent it because it's not streaming anywhere. Sure, but yeah,
- 7:26Speaker 3: I just went and checked it out. If you like
- 7:30Speaker 3: the Christopher Guest movies, you're gonna love this. I guess
- 7:32Speaker 3: I'll see my recommendation for anyone who hasn't a.
- 7:35Speaker 4: Little sweeter than the other one.
- 7:36Speaker 1: It is pretty sweet. Yeah, I do like it.
- 7:38Speaker 3: That's the documentary style. It's about folk music and like
- 7:43Speaker 3: the singers getting back together for a concert some years later.
- 7:47Speaker 3: I think it's like twenty or thirty years later. Very sweet,
- 7:52Speaker 3: super super funny.
- 7:53Speaker 1: I loved it so much. It really made me. It
- 7:58Speaker 1: made me miss Catherine O'Hair lot so much. And Eugene
- 8:03Speaker 1: Levy was he I mean, he's they're always so good.
- 8:07Speaker 3: But it's got all the people you would expect in it,
- 8:10Speaker 3: and they're all just really great and it's I liked
- 8:13Speaker 3: a lot of the music too. I thought it was
- 8:15Speaker 3: very fun, even though it's like, you know, spoofy music,
- 8:18Speaker 3: like parody kind of some of it, but it's really.
- 8:21Speaker 1: Fun and yeah, so they're making fun of the folk
- 8:24Speaker 1: music genre. Absolutely Americana because he always goes after one thing,
- 8:29Speaker 1: you know.
- 8:30Speaker 3: And the like the Trio of Dudes, which is kind
- 8:34Speaker 3: of them. They're one of the main groups anyway.
- 8:37Speaker 1: Like Harry Sheer, that bit that they do that e
- 8:40Speaker 1: a oh yeah.
- 8:43Speaker 3: Got me every single time. I was like, yeah, that's
- 8:45Speaker 3: just good, clean fun right there.
- 8:46Speaker 1: I love that.
- 8:47Speaker 4: It's fun.
- 8:48Speaker 3: And I was like a band would one hundred build
- 8:51Speaker 3: their you know, entire repertoire around that, you know what
- 8:54Speaker 3: I mean, Like, for sure remember for that you have
- 8:56Speaker 3: to sing it at every show and that's you.
- 9:00Speaker 1: You probably didn't know that because we would do those
- 9:02Speaker 1: singing Valentines and that end of the Rainbow song. Yeah
- 9:07Speaker 1: I did sing that, yes, at the end of the rainbow.
- 9:10Speaker 3: Yeah, that's it was funny because from that's happening, I
- 9:13Speaker 3: was like, why do I know this song? And then
- 9:16Speaker 3: I was like, aren't these all just made up for this?
- 9:18Speaker 3: But I was like, I know this song so well,
- 9:22Speaker 3: it must not be.
- 9:23Speaker 1: That's fine, Okay, that's why you know the you know
- 9:25Speaker 1: the tender one part that.
- 9:29Speaker 3: Which is so funny. I think I only did that
- 9:30Speaker 3: one year. Maybe we did it a bunch anyway, it
- 9:33Speaker 3: doesn't matter. Yeah, that's so I did not know that
- 9:37Speaker 3: was from A Mighty win.
- 9:37Speaker 1: That's really that's hilarious. I suppose that makes sense. It
- 9:41Speaker 1: was pretty new at that point, so for sure.
- 9:43Speaker 3: Yeah, one of our nerdy friends got a hold of
- 9:45Speaker 3: it and was, yeah, that makes sense, that makes and.
- 9:49Speaker 1: He did the Adam Sandler wedding singer one. Definitely remember
- 9:53Speaker 1: that because Farmada did that even after that. But yeah,
- 9:57Speaker 1: that's so funny.
- 9:58Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, I didn't even realiz that was what was happening.
- 10:01Speaker 1: Super super fun.
- 10:02Speaker 3: A Mighty Wind was great, So check it out if
- 10:04Speaker 3: you haven't seen it, and check it out. I guy's
- 10:06Speaker 3: just watch all the Christopher guest movies. They're wonderful.
- 10:09Speaker 1: They seen them all. I should really just go through
- 10:11Speaker 1: and check them all out. At this point, I just
- 10:14Speaker 1: need the most recent spinal tap. Oh nice, the second one.
- 10:18Speaker 3: Yep, I gotta be closest shop anyway. I'll look it
- 10:21Speaker 3: up someday. But yeah, super super fun. Have you been
- 10:24Speaker 3: streaming anything I have?
- 10:26Speaker 1: I finished the second season of the Four Seasons, which
- 10:30Speaker 1: is on Netflix nice right on. It features Tina Fey
- 10:34Speaker 1: and Will Forte, Coleman Domingo, who's in the new Spielberg
- 10:39Speaker 1: movie I saw. I can't wait to see them. Carrie Kenny,
- 10:43Speaker 1: who was a regular on Reno nine one one, you
- 10:46Speaker 1: would definitely recognize her.
- 10:48Speaker 3: Yes, she's great.
- 10:48Speaker 1: Yeah, and we get a little Steve Correll in this season.
- 10:54Speaker 1: But it's about these friends who regularly go on vacation
- 10:57Speaker 1: and they're all dealing with their own dramatic shoes in
- 11:00Speaker 1: their relationships and it's very very funny cool along the way.
- 11:05Speaker 1: It has me laughing out loud pretty regularly, and I've
- 11:08Speaker 1: been watching it by myself, so that is high praise.
- 11:12Speaker 1: And it also selfishly makes me feel very good about
- 11:15Speaker 1: my marriage and how well we communicate. Love that, So
- 11:18Speaker 1: I love that for.
- 11:19Speaker 4: You, I really like that for me.
- 11:21Speaker 1: That's wonderful. That's wonderful. But dude, it's good. It's really fun.
- 11:25Speaker 1: And they're they're shorter episodes. They're like half hour episodes,
- 11:29Speaker 1: and there's eight of them, so you can just fly
- 11:32Speaker 1: through them like I did. I think I started it
- 11:34Speaker 1: at the beginning of this week and it's Thursday. So
- 11:37Speaker 1: love that.
- 11:38Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm not to check that out. That sounds awesome.
- 11:41Speaker 1: Yeah. Now there's two seasons, so if you missed the
- 11:43Speaker 1: first half, love it. I love it.
- 11:45Speaker 3: Yeah, Now she that Carrie Kenny is Aggie's mom right
- 11:50Speaker 3: in Role Models.
- 11:51Speaker 1: I don't know why I remember that so specifically, but
- 11:54Speaker 1: isn't it.
- 11:54Speaker 4: Oh yeah, she absolutely is her and Ken Marie Marin.
- 11:57Speaker 1: Oh yeah, okay, cool. Yes, that really stuck out to me.
- 12:00Speaker 4: That's absolutely She's so funny.
- 12:02Speaker 1: Dude, dude, she has in like the last two episodes,
- 12:06Speaker 1: she has this thing where she keeps getting confused for
- 12:11Speaker 1: a certain person when she's over in Italy. The best
- 12:15Speaker 1: kills me. That's so funny. It's such a funny love
- 12:18Speaker 1: bits like that. It just crapped me up.
- 12:21Speaker 3: Yeah, that's great to watch that show. That sounds fun, Yes,
- 12:24Speaker 3: sounds fun.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Nice. What have you been streaming?
- 12:26Speaker 3: I was also on Netflix. This show just popped up,
- 12:30Speaker 3: and I love all of these so I checked it out.
- 12:34Speaker 3: Mating season just came out and I didn't even realize.
- 12:39Speaker 3: I mean, I was like, this gotta be a Nick
- 12:42Speaker 3: Kroll thing because it's basically from the creators of Big Mouth,
- 12:46Speaker 3: but it's animals in a forest this time.
- 12:49Speaker 1: Basically it's amazing big mouthy Uh.
- 12:53Speaker 3: The part I really like about it is Zach Woods
- 12:56Speaker 3: is one of the main characters.
- 12:57Speaker 1: In this way. I love his humor so much.
- 13:01Speaker 3: Funny, and he plays like that sort of he's really
- 13:04Speaker 3: funny when he plays like a really brusque character too,
- 13:07Speaker 3: but in this one he's kind of playing that sort
- 13:09Speaker 3: of like you know, like just like kind of a wiener,
- 13:14Speaker 3: you know, he's just like, I'm sorry, honey, you know,
- 13:16Speaker 3: and like in just a really funny way. He's very timid.
- 13:20Speaker 3: And he's a bear, which makes it even funnier, right
- 13:23Speaker 3: because he's this giant animal and he's just this but
- 13:27Speaker 3: really really funny it is. It's you know, big mouth
- 13:31Speaker 3: in a different situational comedy setting.
- 13:34Speaker 1: Surely they're just all the animals and.
- 13:38Speaker 3: He's talking about how that all works, but they are
- 13:40Speaker 3: in like, you know, real life situations.
- 13:43Speaker 1: June Diane Rafael is Fawn, who you've seen in some things.
- 13:47Speaker 1: She's really great, clearly like an improverb. Yeah, she's gotta
- 13:52Speaker 1: be right, she's super super funny.
- 13:55Speaker 3: But Maria Bamford is in there, there's a ton of
- 13:57Speaker 3: other yeah, and she's the best in the.
- 14:01Speaker 1: World too, so but yeah, and Niicral who I said.
- 14:04Speaker 3: At the beginning, but it's just that super crude humor.
- 14:09Speaker 3: They always pick great theme songs. This one is like Oh, now,
- 14:14Speaker 3: I'm not gonna remember it. I messed around and fell
- 14:17Speaker 3: in love or something. It's that old Motown song. Oh,
- 14:22Speaker 3: I can't think of it in my brain right now,
- 14:24Speaker 3: as I'm not smart. But it's a really fun show
- 14:27Speaker 3: if you like it.
- 14:28Speaker 1: I loved Big Mo. If you like some crude humor,
- 14:30Speaker 1: you're gonna have a nice time with this.
- 14:32Speaker 3: Because they didn't keep up their spin off too. They
- 14:34Speaker 3: did like Big Mouth.
- 14:35Speaker 1: And then it was it like something in the school
- 14:38Speaker 1: or something like that.
- 14:40Speaker 3: It was that it was like human resources or something,
- 14:43Speaker 3: and it was remember like the Horny Monster. It was
- 14:47Speaker 3: all the horny monsters. They're like the place they worked,
- 14:51Speaker 3: so it was like the office, but for the horny
- 14:53Speaker 3: monsters the other various folks around there.
- 14:57Speaker 1: I didn't see that either.
- 14:58Speaker 3: It was that was really funny too. That had some
- 15:00Speaker 3: belief for sure. Yeah, it's just you know, they're so funny,
- 15:04Speaker 3: and then they can just get away with anything because
- 15:06Speaker 3: it's animated, animated netflicks, you know what I mean. So
- 15:10Speaker 3: they're just like, there are no rules, we'll do whatever
- 15:12Speaker 3: we want. So but it's definitely super crass. So like,
- 15:16Speaker 3: don't don't show Charlie, you know, thinking.
- 15:20Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I definitely saw big mouth and it's foul.
- 15:24Speaker 3: For anyone else who doesn't, it looks like, you know,
- 15:26Speaker 3: a lovely cartoon and then they're humping in the first
- 15:29Speaker 3: like twelve seconds, so you know.
- 15:31Speaker 1: Which is part of nature but here is birds and
- 15:35Speaker 1: bees and whatnot.
- 15:36Speaker 3: But yeah, so check that out.
- 15:37Speaker 1: On Netflix Netflix. Nice. What do you think should we
- 15:41Speaker 1: do if you plug her ins here? I think we should.

- 16:37Speaker 1: We're doing our top five favorite cow scenes.
- 16:40Speaker 3: Cow scenes, and I got enough. I was surprised.
- 16:45Speaker 1: Yeah, if it wasn't for the Internet, I would not
- 16:47Speaker 1: have No. I definitely thought of about eight, eight or nine.
- 16:52Speaker 3: So that was a couple a couple for sure. Yeah,
- 16:55Speaker 3: the Internet helped for sure, Big Tay. We'll look forward
- 17:00Speaker 3: to that, Greg. But we're here today to talk about.
- 17:04Speaker 1: A lovely little film. It's called City Slickers, Sit a Slicker.
- 17:10Speaker 3: Love that reference, great, great reference.
- 17:12Speaker 4: Uh.
- 17:12Speaker 1: And this is the thirty fifth anniversary of it this
- 17:16Speaker 1: year ninety one.
- 17:18Speaker 3: And so we had to get our favorite two little
- 17:20Speaker 3: cow pokes there, gentlemen who definitely know how to ride
- 17:24Speaker 3: a horse, they know how to florid a river, and
- 17:28Speaker 3: they've probably done other things on Oregon Trail. So we
- 17:30Speaker 3: got a lot of stuff going on here. But let's
- 17:32Speaker 3: welcoming back.
- 17:33Speaker 4: It's Benny Ellench and Adam Reggade Wilson.
- 17:37Speaker 1: What's up, guys?
- 17:40Speaker 4: Got up? Sorry?
- 17:48Speaker 1: God, you're so good.
- 17:49Speaker 4: You're so good.
- 17:51Speaker 5: I thought about that today.
- 17:56Speaker 4: Around thirty.
- 18:01Speaker 1: That's wonderful. How are you dudes?
- 18:03Speaker 4: Lovely? We are just great here in the great city
- 18:08Speaker 4: of New York. You are great Pretending to be Knicks fans.
- 18:12Speaker 4: Hell yeah, the locals. You gotta you gotta blend in. Now,
- 18:15Speaker 4: you gotta blend you know, dude.
- 18:17Speaker 1: Yeah, you'll get beat up and stuff, you will.
- 18:21Speaker 4: I saw terrible and hit with an egg.
- 18:24Speaker 3: Yeah that sucks to But that poor guy that got
- 18:27Speaker 3: like surrounded and then they took his.
- 18:29Speaker 1: Spurts, jersey and stuff. But that's too far from me.
- 18:33Speaker 4: We were in Philadelphia.
- 18:34Speaker 1: Now, we like show some decorum.
- 18:37Speaker 4: There are rules rules.
- 18:40Speaker 1: Is New York? Is it? Is? It like Nicks Mania
- 18:44Speaker 1: there though, Why that's so fun. You know.
- 18:48Speaker 4: Look, they've they haven't won they haven't won one since
- 18:51Speaker 4: seventy three. They were they were only good during the
- 18:54Speaker 4: Michael Jordan era and the Terrible time to Be Dynasty.
- 18:59Speaker 4: So yeah, you know, but yeah you can like I'll have.
- 19:03Speaker 5: I had my window up the other night and I
- 19:05Speaker 5: realized my TV was like twenty seconds behind the game
- 19:07Speaker 5: because you could.
- 19:08Speaker 4: Hear all this cheering.
- 19:09Speaker 5: Oh hell yeah, that's like nothing's going on, and then
- 19:11Speaker 5: all of a sudden later someone hits the three in
- 19:14Speaker 5: my gosh.
- 19:15Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah it's yeah, it's.
- 19:18Speaker 1: It's fun, super fun.
- 19:20Speaker 4: Plus, you know, it's not like the Yankees, like it
- 19:23Speaker 4: would be like if the Jets. You know, it's like
- 19:25Speaker 4: they've just they're a struggling fan base, which we can
- 19:29Speaker 4: also relate to very much. So yeah, so it's it's
- 19:34Speaker 4: fun for them. But yes, beating up helpless.
- 19:37Speaker 1: Yeah, it's not cool. It's not so fun.
- 19:41Speaker 4: Also, of course, of course a star left Minnesota and
- 19:45Speaker 4: went to this team and now they're gonna win a championship.
- 19:48Speaker 4: That's how we roll.
- 19:49Speaker 3: Yeah, but I want him to win so much. He's
- 19:51Speaker 3: so great.
- 19:53Speaker 1: He is great, and it seems like a nice dude too.
- 19:56Speaker 1: He wanted to bring one to Minnesota so bad and
- 19:58Speaker 1: then he did. Just to be honest, we had to
- 20:01Speaker 1: get rid of them.
- 20:02Speaker 3: The rules changed.
- 20:03Speaker 4: Yeah it's all good, but yeah, but yeah, it's been
- 20:06Speaker 4: fun to watch.
- 20:07Speaker 3: It is a tried and drew recipe, though I would
- 20:09Speaker 3: I would sign every player that left Minnesota for real.
- 20:14Speaker 4: If you're paying.
- 20:14Speaker 1: Attention, it's a valve strand.
- 20:18Speaker 4: I believe what did who won the Super Bowl this
- 20:20Speaker 4: last year? Yeah?
- 20:22Speaker 1: I don't recall good luck in that division this year though?
- 20:25Speaker 1: Am I? Right? Yis watch the Cardinals? Was this a
- 20:33Speaker 1: sports podcast?
- 20:34Speaker 4: You know? Right? What are we doing?
- 20:36Speaker 2: That?
- 20:36Speaker 3: Was?
- 20:36Speaker 1: That was all I know?
- 20:39Speaker 4: Sorry? Everyone, I can't remember.
- 20:41Speaker 1: I already said. I think I did.
- 20:42Speaker 3: We're doing City Slickers today from nineteen ninety one slicker.
- 20:49Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, we did say it because ll y.
- 20:51Speaker 3: It's all come back to me now, it's all coming
- 20:53Speaker 3: back to me.
- 20:55Speaker 1: But what do you guys think? Should we just get
- 20:56Speaker 1: right into it?
- 20:57Speaker 4: Yes, there's no time, Brady.
- 21:00Speaker 1: All right? Rabbit is with that rough synopsies. City Slickers
- 21:05Speaker 1: follows three disillusioned New York friends experiencing midlife crises who
- 21:11Speaker 1: escape their mundane lives by joining a supervised two week
- 21:14Speaker 1: cattle drive in the American Southwest. Guided by a grizzled cowboy.
- 21:20Speaker 1: The men face physical dangers and personally epiphanies that help
- 21:24Speaker 1: them regain their confidence.
- 21:27Speaker 4: Personal epiphanies is the name of my band.
- 21:29Speaker 1: Oh that's a lovely name.
- 21:31Speaker 3: That's a lovely name.
- 21:33Speaker 4: It's like a jazz trio.
- 21:34Speaker 1: Oh, I like that.
- 21:39Speaker 3: Three people named Tiffany in it personal epiphanies.
- 21:45Speaker 4: It's like to Tony, it such a good.
- 21:50Speaker 1: Bit, such a good bit.
- 21:51Speaker 3: Let's go to rotten to bottles in here. But they
- 21:53Speaker 3: have to say, critics have it's coming in at a
- 21:54Speaker 3: pretty rock solid.
- 21:55Speaker 1: Eighty four percent boom. That's pretty great.
- 21:59Speaker 4: That's great boom.
- 22:01Speaker 3: Audience members a little shocking for me at least down
- 22:05Speaker 3: at sixty five.
- 22:06Speaker 1: Off out here sixty five serious.
- 22:11Speaker 4: Yeah, it's pretty dumb.
- 22:12Speaker 3: Never I mean, granted, you know they weren't reviewing it
- 22:16Speaker 3: at the time it came out, I suppose, but like,
- 22:19Speaker 3: what are they mad at in this movie?
- 22:22Speaker 4: If I was a baton man, I would have for
- 22:24Speaker 4: sure bet the audience over over eighty from.
- 22:28Speaker 5: And I get this might go into what my hottest
- 22:30Speaker 5: take is, but they clearly don't see the production value
- 22:35Speaker 5: of this film.
- 22:37Speaker 4: For real, No, for real, ridiculous. That's so ridiculous. That's
- 22:41Speaker 4: pretty good. My hottest take also that.
- 22:45Speaker 1: I love it. Well, let's get into those hot takes.
- 22:46Speaker 1: Let's hear what we have to say. It's time for
- 22:48Speaker 1: our hot take. Hot take. That's a hot take. That's
- 22:53Speaker 1: a hot take myself every time, it's perfect it's perfect.
- 23:01Speaker 1: I love it. No notes. Should I just add that,
- 23:04Speaker 1: I feel like I should just I should.
- 23:07Speaker 4: Soundboard take it out.
- 23:10Speaker 1: Do a clean one, Do a clean I.
- 23:11Speaker 3: Get us with a clean one.
- 23:12Speaker 1: Can you put a little put a little, put a
- 23:13Speaker 1: little jug behind it?
- 23:14Speaker 3: Okay?
- 23:16Speaker 1: Oh I burned myself. That is an actor. That's an actor,
- 23:20Speaker 1: ladies and gentlemen.
- 23:22Speaker 4: You can feel the pain coming through the microphone.
- 23:25Speaker 1: I noticed you were reaching down towards your tushy area.
- 23:28Speaker 4: That's an actor trick you. I'm gonna tell you about that.
- 23:30Speaker 1: But I liked it. That's a hot take. That's a
- 23:34Speaker 1: hot take. Oh I burned myself. I liked it. We
- 23:37Speaker 1: had Thai food last night.
- 23:41Speaker 3: I can go first with my hot take because I
- 23:43Speaker 3: think it's gonna be pretty general. I love this movie
- 23:46Speaker 3: a ton. I can definitely remember watching this a lot
- 23:49Speaker 3: when I was a kid. Oh it was like a
- 23:51Speaker 3: full family favorite. My dad loved Western, so that's probably
- 23:55Speaker 3: a big reason why. Uh and man, it was so
- 23:59Speaker 3: fun to rewatch this movie. It hit me with the nostalgia,
- 24:01Speaker 3: like crazy, really great production, like you guys said, I'll
- 24:05Speaker 3: leave that to you guys. I thought the score was incredible, incredible, dude,
- 24:10Speaker 3: I want to have a whole fun.
- 24:11Speaker 4: Talbevable It's I loved it so much.
- 24:15Speaker 1: I was shocked he didn't get for it. That is crazy.
- 24:20Speaker 1: They did get it.
- 24:22Speaker 4: It's crazy.
- 24:23Speaker 3: Yeah, it's it's really wild.
- 24:25Speaker 1: I will say it is a less of.
- 24:27Speaker 3: Like a romp than I remember. It's still really really funny,
- 24:30Speaker 3: but very sentimental in points and as a as a
- 24:33Speaker 3: man who is forty now thinking about sort of like
- 24:36Speaker 3: the rest of my life, Like they talk about some
- 24:39Speaker 3: real stuff in this which is kind of fun.
- 24:41Speaker 4: Uh.
- 24:41Speaker 3: And I really liked it and I don't obviously that
- 24:43Speaker 3: didn't impact me when I was a kiddo in the
- 24:45Speaker 3: same right, which thank god because that would be weird.
- 24:49Speaker 3: But yeah, just a wonderful moral to this story too.
- 24:52Speaker 3: I thought that was really fun. Like the whole idea
- 24:55Speaker 3: of just that all we can do is try to
- 24:56Speaker 3: make every day a good day, right or the best day?
- 24:59Speaker 3: I think that really fun and lovely and all these
- 25:02Speaker 3: people are so funny. Uh, it's just a great, great time.
- 25:06Speaker 3: I had an awesome time and I loved it.
- 25:08Speaker 1: That's my hot take. That's it. That's got Yeah, Yes,
- 25:17Speaker 1: I did. Yeah, nice.
- 25:19Speaker 4: Yeah, I have a lot more. I love this movie
- 25:22Speaker 4: growing up as well.
- 25:24Speaker 1: I do think we rocked out the second one, maybe
- 25:26Speaker 1: more my sister and I I agree with that too.
- 25:29Speaker 1: Really really be way sillier, right, it is just it.
- 25:37Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, Bruno Kirby did not do it because they
- 25:40Speaker 4: got in a little tiff or whatever.
- 25:42Speaker 1: Oh I didn't know that. Interesting.
- 25:45Speaker 3: I'm gonna have to watch that again.
- 25:46Speaker 1: Yeah, it's been so long. This was directed by Ron Underwood.
- 25:51Speaker 1: This is the second film we've done an episode on his.
- 25:54Speaker 1: You guys, you guys who did the Tremors He.
- 26:00Speaker 5: Started goes Tremors into City Slickers and then Heart and
- 26:03Speaker 5: Souls right after.
- 26:04Speaker 4: Which Due which has not seen that. I had to
- 26:08Speaker 4: bring it up. Which is your boohoo's in?
- 26:11Speaker 5: That is gonna belus plus twenty.
- 26:15Speaker 4: Yeah, we're we're going over under his nineteen.
- 26:17Speaker 3: I'm gonna watch that. I'm putting it on my list
- 26:20Speaker 3: to watch.
- 26:20Speaker 4: I loved that movie right. Also, the writers of this movie, dude,
- 26:24Speaker 4: also have a crazy run.
- 26:26Speaker 1: I was yes, really Lowell Gans and Babba Loo Mandel.
- 26:30Speaker 4: Night Shift Splash, Parenthood, city Slickers, Wow, dude, a league
- 26:36Speaker 4: of their own their own, like wow, the multiplicity, multiplicity,
- 26:43Speaker 4: and there's others in there that aren't as good, but
- 26:45Speaker 4: just banger every Yeah, got it.
- 26:47Speaker 1: I've never seen night Shift that's good.
- 26:49Speaker 4: Shift is awesome, Dude that in this first movie. It's
- 26:52Speaker 4: like Ron Howard's first got Henry Winkler, Henry Winkler and
- 26:58Speaker 4: Shelley Long. You're gonna love it. It's awesome.
- 27:01Speaker 1: Let's do it great. I will say that I was
- 27:05Speaker 1: shocked that it was a full twenty eight minutes into
- 27:07Speaker 1: the movie before we saw these guys in the West.
- 27:10Speaker 1: I did not remember that intro being as long as
- 27:13Speaker 1: it was. However, it's been a very, very long time
- 27:16Speaker 1: since I've seen this movie.
- 27:19Speaker 4: Yeah, shocked that the score was A nominated.
- 27:21Speaker 1: I enjoyed the plot. Just a group of friends who
- 27:23Speaker 1: are all going through midlife crisis trying to get their
- 27:26Speaker 1: groove back by going on an adventure. Pretty fun recipe
- 27:30Speaker 1: for a good time, hot take. Craziest Best Supporting Actor
- 27:35Speaker 1: when ever, he's barely in the movie, but his Secret
- 27:40Speaker 1: of Life speech was so great got him to win.
- 27:43Speaker 1: It's probably more of a legacy Oscar celebrating his career
- 27:46Speaker 1: rather than that particular role.
- 27:48Speaker 3: Yeah, I didn't want to get yelled at. I feel
- 27:50Speaker 3: the same way, so that's interesting.
- 27:51Speaker 4: Okay, fair, Judy won Best Supporting Actress for Shakespeare and
- 27:55Speaker 4: Love and True in like nine minutes, so that's right. Also,
- 28:00Speaker 4: in this same year, Anthony Hopkins won Best Actor for Silence,
- 28:05Speaker 4: and he's in that movie for like twenty four minutes.
- 28:08Speaker 3: Yeah, now, to be fair, he also rules, of course
- 28:12Speaker 3: he does, there's that in that he does. But that
- 28:15Speaker 3: is really good too, interesting.
- 28:19Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm fine with the legacy actor.
- 28:21Speaker 1: Like you know, well, and I looked up the who
- 28:24Speaker 1: was up that year.
- 28:25Speaker 4: It's a weird Oscars. It was a weird Oscars year.
- 28:28Speaker 4: So it was.
- 28:30Speaker 1: Barton Fink, the actor Michael Lerner and how he got
- 28:33Speaker 1: nominated before John Kaman and that is crazy. There were
- 28:37Speaker 1: two from Bugsy Harvey Kaitel and Ben Kingsley and then
- 28:42Speaker 1: Tommily Jones for JFK. So huh, kind of weird.
- 28:46Speaker 4: It's weird.
- 28:48Speaker 3: But the voters were like, we just didn't watch them all, Well,
- 28:51Speaker 3: just watched the twelve minutes of these guys.
- 28:54Speaker 4: But really, Anthony Hopkins probably should have won.
- 28:56Speaker 1: Best Sporting Actor. Yeah, that's interesting, that is interesting, true,
- 29:00Speaker 1: but yeah, that's my take.
- 29:02Speaker 4: Once a.
- 29:04Speaker 5: Dude, I mean, we're probably gonna step at which I mean,
- 29:07Speaker 5: I'll go.
- 29:08Speaker 1: But we.
- 29:10Speaker 5: When we watched it for the first time, uh last
- 29:14Speaker 5: week to rewatch, I think you said after we got done,
- 29:17Speaker 5: Like this movie has no business being this good, Like
- 29:23Speaker 5: it's obviously very well written, very well acted, but like
- 29:25Speaker 5: the production value that they put in is incredible. Like
- 29:30Speaker 5: nowadays I could just be like half ass, like you
- 29:32Speaker 5: can stet like, oh it's a comedy western, we have
- 29:35Speaker 5: a huge star billy crystal. We could do you know,
- 29:38Speaker 5: blah blah blah. But like the time they take, like
- 29:41Speaker 5: the stampede scene alone is incredible.
- 29:44Speaker 4: That is incredible filmmaking.
- 29:46Speaker 5: Like the shot of him in the tree with the
- 29:48Speaker 5: cattle running before and after him, Like, yes, one of
- 29:51Speaker 5: my favorite shots of the film is towards the end,
- 29:53Speaker 5: when they're about to cross the river, they just have
- 29:56Speaker 5: an overhead shot of the cattle in the rain. Well,
- 29:58Speaker 5: first of they have a rain machine going for no reason.
- 30:01Speaker 4: Yeah, and then this.
- 30:02Speaker 5: Is an overhead shot of the cattle walking for like
- 30:04Speaker 5: two seconds. But like that's like you have to bring
- 30:06Speaker 5: in a crane to do that back then now would
- 30:09Speaker 5: just be a drone. But like the amount of time
- 30:12Speaker 5: and effort they put in to get some of these
- 30:15Speaker 5: shots and to like do this, well, it's incredible.
- 30:19Speaker 4: Love that.
- 30:21Speaker 1: That's great.
- 30:22Speaker 3: They had a lot of time that they were on
- 30:23Speaker 3: the horses too, like a ton I felt like.
- 30:26Speaker 4: I mean, they all feel so horses, Like yeah, I'll
- 30:32Speaker 4: just jump in. You can just keep talking because we've
- 30:34Speaker 4: been talking about this for the last week now, samesis
- 30:38Speaker 4: and I know we throw out that they don't make
- 30:41Speaker 4: them like this anymore. I know we say that a
- 30:43Speaker 4: lot to like they just don't, and this movie is
- 30:46Speaker 4: like I feel like it's like when I think about
- 30:48Speaker 4: Ghostbusters or Back to the Future, where I'm like, I
- 30:51Speaker 4: don't even know what genre this is because I feel
- 30:54Speaker 4: like at this time now it would just be a
- 30:57Speaker 4: comedy and they wouldn't worry about all the other stuff.
- 31:00Speaker 4: They would worry about getting to each bit and you know,
- 31:04Speaker 4: but then at this time of movie making, they were like,
- 31:07Speaker 4: we're going to make a good movie, and that's what
- 31:11Speaker 4: we're worried about. We're not worried about like getting bits
- 31:15Speaker 4: in or slapstick. It's just we want to make a
- 31:18Speaker 4: good movie. And this is this, like he said, the
- 31:22Speaker 4: production value is wildly good, but the genre, like it's
- 31:27Speaker 4: a comedy, it's a western, it's a kind of an
- 31:30Speaker 4: action movie. It's like a Buddy Buddy film. It's a
- 31:33Speaker 4: midlife crisis movie. It's like a fish out a fish
- 31:37Speaker 4: out of water movie. I mean, and Billy Crystal's just cooking.
- 31:42Speaker 4: I think the closest comp is Bill Murray and Ghostbusters,
- 31:46Speaker 4: where I'm just like, I would love to see the
- 31:49Speaker 4: shooting script of this because he's just I don't know
- 31:52Speaker 4: what's written and what's not, and clearly he's doing a
- 31:55Speaker 4: ton of his just kind of routines, but it fits
- 31:59Speaker 4: so well. Yeah, but they just take it so seriously
- 32:03Speaker 4: they don't. You know, this was I always talked about
- 32:06Speaker 4: when they did the Ghostbusters remake with all the women.
- 32:09Speaker 4: I was so excited about that, and the movie is
- 32:12Speaker 4: just this slapsticky bit and I'm like, you, if you
- 32:16Speaker 4: would have just written a really cool action movie, maybe
- 32:21Speaker 4: even make it a little spooky, Like think of the
- 32:24Speaker 4: women that are in that movie, they're gonna be funny.
- 32:26Speaker 4: You don't need to be funny. Yeah, you don't need
- 32:30Speaker 4: to write them bits like they're just gonna be funny.
- 32:34Speaker 4: And that's like how I feel about this. I just
- 32:36Speaker 4: feel like they were like we're making a serious movie
- 32:41Speaker 4: like in every facet, but we just have funny people
- 32:46Speaker 4: and and that's why it's funny. It's like a lethal
- 32:50Speaker 4: weapon too, like something like that, just like it'll be funny,
- 32:54Speaker 4: they're funny.
- 32:54Speaker 5: It's also like what Robbie are saying, he didn't realize
- 32:56Speaker 5: that it's like twenty five minutes till they even get
- 32:58Speaker 5: to the Westerns.
- 32:59Speaker 4: They spend all that.
- 33:00Speaker 5: Time building these characters and the relationships and what they're
- 33:06Speaker 5: going through before we even put them into it. It's like,
- 33:09Speaker 5: now it would be what five minutes, Yeah, it would
- 33:11Speaker 5: be five minutes and they would already be there. I
- 33:13Speaker 5: mean yeah.
- 33:14Speaker 4: The fact that they take that time and then they
- 33:17Speaker 4: have all these wonderful scenes that are like, again, way
- 33:22Speaker 4: better than they even need to be for this to
- 33:24Speaker 4: be a movie. I actually it's funny. We talked about
- 33:29Speaker 4: this earlier, but I actually do have a hot take.
- 33:32Speaker 4: I think this should have been up for Best Picture.
- 33:35Speaker 1: Oh I about that.
- 33:38Speaker 4: The Best Picture nominees that year, and like we said,
- 33:40Speaker 4: it was a strange Oscars year. Silence of the Lambs
- 33:43Speaker 4: wins obviously, and that's great. One of only three films
- 33:46Speaker 4: ever to win the top five Academy, Right, Beauty and
- 33:51Speaker 4: the Beast, which at that time kind of impressively, which
- 33:55Speaker 4: is amazing.
- 33:56Speaker 1: Yes, JFK.
- 33:58Speaker 4: Bugsy's and Prints of Tides. I like, I've never seen
- 34:03Speaker 4: any of the Tides. This movie is better than Bugsy
- 34:07Speaker 4: and Prince of Sides, and I like those movies. Yeah,
- 34:10Speaker 4: but like Prince of Tides is like a romance sort of.
- 34:15Speaker 4: It's it's Nick Nolty and Babs right as dude. I
- 34:19Speaker 4: can picture that poster at Main Street Video they had
- 34:25Speaker 4: it up for so long and their little entryway. But like,
- 34:30Speaker 4: this movie has everything that movie has and ten times
- 34:37Speaker 4: harder to make again. I just think the effort putting
- 34:41Speaker 4: this is incredible. And it's, like we said, we talked
- 34:45Speaker 4: about the last week, like it has no business being
- 34:48Speaker 4: this good. It's got so much heart and it's so
- 34:51Speaker 4: well shot. There's a shot in there of like the
- 34:53Speaker 4: horizon with all the cattle, and we were like, so cool,
- 34:56Speaker 4: that looks like it could be from any Western Yeah,
- 35:01Speaker 4: I don't know. So yeah, anything else to add love it?
- 35:05Speaker 4: No notes, no notes on that or no notes on
- 35:08Speaker 4: the movie.
- 35:09Speaker 1: So you really burned yourselves on that one, say done.
- 35:14Speaker 4: Well?
- 35:15Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 35:17Speaker 3: Or a salve yes, maybe a bomb. Yes, indeed, be
- 35:21Speaker 3: an alo an ointment if you will.
- 35:26Speaker 1: Should we talk about our thanks you like that? A police?
- 35:31Speaker 3: Can we talk about our favorite acting performance?
- 35:33Speaker 1: Shall we name the dude? The dude?
- 35:36Speaker 6: I'm the dude, So that's what you call me, you
- 35:39Speaker 6: know that? Or his dude or duder or you know
- 35:45Speaker 6: eldudo reno. If you're not into the whole brevity thing.
- 35:48Speaker 3: Which one of you guys wants to go first and
- 35:49Speaker 3: name dude, I'll just I'll just pee back on myself.
- 35:53Speaker 4: I mean Billy Crystal, Yeah, is I mean clearly, I
- 35:58Speaker 4: mean he's carrying the film and the only the only
- 36:01Speaker 4: comp I have really is Bill Murray and Ghostbusters. Yeah,
- 36:06Speaker 4: I don't know what's written for him, and he is
- 36:09Speaker 4: just cooking the whole movie.
- 36:11Speaker 1: Yeah, he's got a little more heart than.
- 36:15Speaker 4: I think. Absolutely, it's kind of yeah maybe, I mean yeah,
- 36:21Speaker 4: maybe a Robin Williams is more accurate but his but
- 36:25Speaker 4: but Billy Crystal's improv is his improv is more dry
- 36:29Speaker 4: like Gil Murray. But he's got heart like Robin Williams.
- 36:35Speaker 4: That like, I I just I don't think there's a
- 36:38Speaker 4: lot of uh comps to this that I can think
- 36:43Speaker 4: of where he's just so great and really like a strange,
- 36:50Speaker 4: like not a traditional leading man in any sense. I
- 36:53Speaker 4: would say totally, but obviously in this era. He I
- 37:01Speaker 4: also think in this era of filmmaking, we were letting
- 37:04Speaker 4: kind of normal looking people be I mean, look at stars.
- 37:08Speaker 4: Bruno Kirby is supposed to be the guy who's got
- 37:11Speaker 4: the twenty five year old underwear model. Watch what you
- 37:14Speaker 4: say about Bruno. I mean, all right, but you know
- 37:18Speaker 4: what I'm saying, Like, if you if you look at
- 37:21Speaker 4: Bruno Kirby, are you thinking like that's the ladies man?
- 37:25Speaker 1: Yeah you're talking about Yes, yes, we're talking about baby
- 37:33Speaker 1: fish Mouth.
- 37:34Speaker 4: Oh yeah, yes, you.
- 37:38Speaker 1: Said you liked it.
- 37:39Speaker 7: I was being nice, but I mean yeah, I just
- 37:47Speaker 7: think Billy Crystal really at this at this time was
- 37:50Speaker 7: kind of.
- 37:50Speaker 4: A one of one. Yeah, yeah, i'd agree with that.
- 37:54Speaker 4: Who do you have again?
- 37:56Speaker 5: Well, I wanted to start off by saying, I think
- 37:58Speaker 5: we have a similar debate on our hand at a
- 38:01Speaker 5: future pod about three friends in a western setting.
- 38:08Speaker 4: With three equally important roles.
- 38:12Speaker 1: Dude, Renegade is throwing heat tonight. I love it. Bro,
- 38:17Speaker 1: that's so good.
- 38:19Speaker 3: What movie are you talking about?
- 38:20Speaker 4: You'll figure it out, didn't you notice?
- 38:28Speaker 5: I Am seriously they the three leading roles do they
- 38:32Speaker 5: all bring something.
- 38:33Speaker 4: And board to the table. They're all very well rounded characters.
- 38:37Speaker 4: They're all very well performed. That being said, for this one.
- 38:42Speaker 5: I'm going to go with Bruno Kirby Ot and it's
- 38:49Speaker 5: kind of more just like it's kind of or his character.
- 38:51Speaker 5: I love his character so much. I was like I
- 38:54Speaker 5: was talking about Betty earlier.
- 38:55Speaker 2: Like.
- 38:57Speaker 5: He's we all know, we all have some in our life,
- 39:00Speaker 5: like like ed where they just have the constant fomo.
- 39:06Speaker 1: Yeah, like and they're always at the screener.
- 39:10Speaker 5: And like and like most of the time it's like
- 39:12Speaker 5: annoying and you don't want anything to do with it.
- 39:14Speaker 5: But then sometimes it's like I need someone to go
- 39:17Speaker 5: do that with me, like are you yes down?
- 39:20Speaker 4: And there's just always doub.
- 39:24Speaker 5: But I just think it just again the dramatic parts
- 39:27Speaker 5: and all this time, I just think he does I
- 39:30Speaker 5: just think he does everything really well.
- 39:31Speaker 4: We're talking about to how it's so great, like in
- 39:34Speaker 4: the beginning, you know it right from the start, Like
- 39:36Speaker 4: he's got the full like bull running gear on and
- 39:40Speaker 4: he like still has his scarf on on the plane. Yeah,
- 39:44Speaker 4: like he's clearly the one the driving force of all this.
- 39:49Speaker 1: Yeah, he got to really shine on that whole best day.
- 39:53Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, I mean that's probably the best scene
- 39:56Speaker 4: in the movie. I mean, that's it's really good, amazing.
- 40:01Speaker 1: Yeah. I went more with Benny. I went to Billy Crystal. Uh,
- 40:07Speaker 1: just plays a great neurotic guy who overthinks everything. It's
- 40:12Speaker 1: very much like his when Harry met Sally character, which
- 40:16Speaker 1: is one of my favorites of all time. Good yeah
- 40:20Speaker 1: and yeah everything.
- 40:21Speaker 4: He said, who just being I feel like this would
- 40:24Speaker 4: be like like Steve Carrell right now, could kind of
- 40:27Speaker 4: be like this, well I like.
- 40:28Speaker 1: That, Yeah, or even maybe like a Ben Stiller fifteen
- 40:33Speaker 1: years ago. Sure something, Yeah, what do you got?
- 40:40Speaker 3: I went Billy Crystal as well. I just thought he
- 40:43Speaker 3: was the best, liked said, I mean, he's just I
- 40:47Speaker 3: really loved their all three of their relationship to one
- 40:50Speaker 3: another too, Like it feels like a very realistic friendship
- 40:53Speaker 3: to me.
- 40:54Speaker 1: You know, they're busting each other's shops, but not like
- 40:56Speaker 1: too much.
- 40:57Speaker 3: You know either, they're you know, they've been you know,
- 41:01Speaker 3: friends for a long time. You can tell and everything
- 41:03Speaker 3: and know each other's nuances and stuff. I just think
- 41:05Speaker 3: that's really fun.
- 41:06Speaker 1: But yeah, I.
- 41:09Speaker 3: Always think it's an interesting, an interesting thing and something
- 41:13Speaker 3: to be celebrated when I'm like, who else could have
- 41:16Speaker 3: even done this without it being a very different film?
- 41:19Speaker 3: And that's how I feel about Billy Crystal, Like I
- 41:21Speaker 3: think you know what I mean, Yeah, like he because
- 41:25Speaker 3: like you said, Benny Rights, he's probably riffing a lot
- 41:28Speaker 3: and putting in his own bits and stuff that I
- 41:31Speaker 3: just think it's hard to it would be a completely
- 41:34Speaker 3: different movie.
- 41:35Speaker 1: I think. I will also say it's super impressive that
- 41:39Speaker 1: we don't like not like this guy because honestly kind
- 41:44Speaker 1: of a whiner. He has a beautiful family, he's got
- 41:49Speaker 1: a job, and he's just kind of like I don't
- 41:52Speaker 1: really like where the ends are, but you don't feel
- 41:55Speaker 1: that way when he's doing it, like you're in it
- 41:58Speaker 1: where I feel like a lot of people could come
- 41:59Speaker 1: off not very likable and we love him so much.
- 42:03Speaker 4: Well, I think he keep he keeps making he kind
- 42:05Speaker 4: of keeps it light too while he does it, so
- 42:07Speaker 4: it's not as which is smart and Burro Kirby's got
- 42:10Speaker 4: that line like you're a glass half full kind of guy.
- 42:15Speaker 4: But yeah, like it could easily be a part that's
- 42:18Speaker 4: just torn shreds by somebody else, but you don't hate.
- 42:20Speaker 1: Him for it. Yeah, yeah, it's really great. I love that.
- 42:23Speaker 4: And and as far and the three of them too,
- 42:25Speaker 4: I like that they as far as like the writing,
- 42:28Speaker 4: like they get into little spats, but that never becomes
- 42:31Speaker 4: like a big.
- 42:32Speaker 1: Yeah it's not a thing, right, Yeah, yeah.
- 42:35Speaker 4: I feel like it would be an easy like we're
- 42:37Speaker 4: all just not talking for a big chunk of the
- 42:39Speaker 4: movie or something like, like they resolve it quickly and yeah,
- 42:42Speaker 4: that's not really the conflict. But they have a little
- 42:46Speaker 4: even though it is pretty serious conversations.
- 42:50Speaker 5: Yeah, like when curly ds the water, I'm like, they're
- 42:53Speaker 5: talking about adultery and right, cheating on why but yeah,
- 42:58Speaker 5: and then they make up the next day and.
- 43:00Speaker 4: Whoever said it, they are they're a very believable like
- 43:02Speaker 4: friend trio.
- 43:03Speaker 1: And yeah, for sure for sure. Nice. Well, why don't
- 43:07Speaker 1: we talk about some of the supporting roles and let's
- 43:10Speaker 1: choose the Tucci Award to chi.
- 43:14Speaker 3: Uh who Let's go first, guess Benny, I mean, I
- 43:19Speaker 3: mean I want to do an honorable mention for Norman.
- 43:22Speaker 4: So I like that we Norman. This is why we
- 43:25Speaker 4: call him the Renegade though too. You know he went
- 43:27Speaker 4: Bruno talk about the cows, talking about Renegade.
- 43:32Speaker 5: Norman calf performance.
- 43:37Speaker 1: It is pretty scene was a lot, huh. It's the
- 43:40Speaker 1: reason why we're doing our top five draft. It's because
- 43:43Speaker 1: of Norman. Norman.
- 43:45Speaker 4: It was harder than I thought it was going to be.
- 43:47Speaker 1: It was tough. Thank God for the Internet. I will
- 43:50Speaker 1: say my sister loved this movie so much that she
- 43:54Speaker 1: named her dog Norman.
- 43:55Speaker 4: Really, I also love I kind of just noticed it.
- 43:59Speaker 4: We've watched like three times in the last week and
- 44:01Speaker 4: a half. I noticed it. He says, I'm gonna name
- 44:06Speaker 4: him Norman because this one time, and then he shoots
- 44:09Speaker 4: the mother and we actually never get we never get
- 44:12Speaker 4: to hear his reason. Why it's interesting is the name.
- 44:18Speaker 5: But my Tucci is going to be a double to
- 44:22Speaker 5: Ira and Barry love it.
- 44:25Speaker 1: Yes, that is.
- 44:27Speaker 5: Every time it cuts to him, they just have a
- 44:29Speaker 5: quick one liner, something funny, and then it cuts the
- 44:32Speaker 5: pans away from.
- 44:33Speaker 4: The question for you, which one is the bigger guy
- 44:36Speaker 4: that's the him? Do you think more of this film
- 44:42Speaker 4: or Billy.
- 44:43Speaker 1: Mad Billy Madison.
- 44:44Speaker 4: Every time he was supposed to pinch my leg, do
- 44:56Speaker 4: you think he just hates Wayne Knight.
- 44:59Speaker 1: So he must.
- 45:01Speaker 4: Yeah. I just feel like they were like the every
- 45:03Speaker 4: part the Jack type and Wayne got to be in
- 45:06Speaker 4: like Jurassic Park, basic instinct, you guys, Jack peal Oscar Winner. Okay,
- 45:14Speaker 4: hey man, we like the low hanging through. There's nothing wrong.
- 45:18Speaker 1: I hope someone else picks him before it gets to me.
- 45:20Speaker 1: Then that's a fun pick dude. And I love David
- 45:24Speaker 1: Paymer every ever since this movie.
- 45:27Speaker 4: He's always good. I feel like him and Kevin Dunn
- 45:31Speaker 4: are like the two greatest that guy actors all the time.
- 45:35Speaker 3: He's he's the one that's investigating the hotel right that
- 45:38Speaker 3: they make sick in Ocean's thirteen.
- 45:40Speaker 1: That's the same guy. Okay, yeah, I thought.
- 45:43Speaker 4: He's get shorty. He's I mean, he's like the one
- 45:48Speaker 4: I can't remember that he has one hundred and something
- 45:50Speaker 4: crowd like for sure. We're talking about his his great
- 45:54Speaker 4: line reading in The American President when Michael J. Fox
- 46:00Speaker 4: Fox Everyone's trying to this year, Oh yeah, George is out.
- 46:08Speaker 4: He's like, oh, well, that's good because if that was
- 46:11Speaker 4: a maybe I think we need to work on our
- 46:13Speaker 4: people skills.
- 46:15Speaker 1: Good. I always think of him as that well you
- 46:18Speaker 1: haven't seen it, Bukes, but in Heart and Souls he's
- 46:20Speaker 1: the buster.
- 46:20Speaker 4: Yeah, he is the all time that guy, like, he's
- 46:26Speaker 4: pretty great, so many things. Who do you have, Benny?
- 46:32Speaker 4: Oh God? I mean, I mean, I mean, if we
- 46:37Speaker 4: should all just talk about Jack Palance. So I guess,
- 46:40Speaker 4: just for fun, I'm going to say the owner of
- 46:41Speaker 4: the Miami Dolphins. I don't know what his name is,
- 46:44Speaker 4: but I thought you were gonna go with the girl, Helen.
- 46:47Speaker 4: I mean, I want to go with Helen. I should
- 46:49Speaker 4: go with Helen because I just recently rewatched super Girl
- 46:53Speaker 4: and she's just a delight hell. I mean, she is wonderful.
- 47:03Speaker 4: What else Like, I feel like she should have been
- 47:05Speaker 4: a bigger star. Probably just recently in the last year
- 47:10Speaker 4: for the first time, watched The Legend of Billy Jean,
- 47:14Speaker 4: which is a really awesome movie that she's the star of.
- 47:16Speaker 4: I've never seen one that's really good. You should watch it.
- 47:21Speaker 4: I think it's Christian Slater's first movie as well. Oh. Also,
- 47:25Speaker 4: Yurdley Smith is in it, which is interesting.
- 47:27Speaker 1: Yeah, she was the one that Daniel Stern yep and
- 47:31Speaker 1: the voice of Lisa Simpson of course. Oh I didn't
- 47:35Speaker 1: put that, Okay, cool.
- 47:37Speaker 4: Yeah, and if you watch her in this movie, you're like, yeah, man,
- 47:39Speaker 4: you're about to be really rich. Mm hmm. But yeah,
- 47:43Speaker 4: Helen Slater, I mean Supergirl, this uh well her Seinfeld
- 47:49Speaker 4: quick run. Yeah. But I was gonna say also that
- 47:54Speaker 4: the guy who runs the ranch I always think of
- 47:56Speaker 4: as Yes, you know, I got a linebacker who has
- 48:00Speaker 4: not washed his jockey strapped in two years because he
- 48:02Speaker 4: thinks flies are lucky.
- 48:05Speaker 1: Find the fish or find new jobs.
- 48:07Speaker 4: Nice.
- 48:08Speaker 1: It's so good.
- 48:09Speaker 4: But also he I love he drops the movie title
- 48:12Speaker 4: line and it's awesome. He doesn't. Yes, he came here,
- 48:15Speaker 4: so he slickers, you're gonna leave cowboys, leave cowboys.
- 48:19Speaker 1: Yeah that's good.
- 48:20Speaker 3: What's that Noble Willingham? That's that guy, right, Yeah, that's
- 48:24Speaker 3: also just a great name.
- 48:27Speaker 4: So yeah, go ahead, because I don't know, there's so
- 48:29Speaker 4: many people, but we should all just talk about Jack pell.
- 48:32Speaker 1: Jack Palin's absolutely he's wonderful. I mean, he's like this
- 48:35Speaker 1: mysterious guy, and so it feels like he's on screen
- 48:40Speaker 1: way more than he actually is, right, But whenever he's
- 48:43Speaker 1: on he's completely crushing it. He's pretty funny. He gets
- 48:47Speaker 1: to do all the stuff, he gets to be badass.
- 48:49Speaker 1: He gets to be funny. Uh, he gets to have
- 48:52Speaker 1: his heart to heart and talk about you know, the
- 48:54Speaker 1: one thing, and that makes that makes so good.
- 48:58Speaker 4: And I would say, because I know you said he's
- 49:00Speaker 4: on screen hop and I'm like, in terms of best
- 49:01Speaker 4: supporting actor, like I feel like that's maybe that's what
- 49:05Speaker 4: he does is exactly what you're looking for for, like
- 49:08Speaker 4: the best sporting actor. He's got, Like he's in like
- 49:12Speaker 4: a third of the movie. Ish, he's got a bunch
- 49:14Speaker 4: of like kind of key scenes.
- 49:16Speaker 1: I felt like he died so early. He does, I
- 49:18Speaker 1: mean as well.
- 49:21Speaker 4: But yeah, he's perfect. He's so good.
- 49:25Speaker 1: He's really like a match off of his Yeah, that
- 49:28Speaker 1: is cool. That is badass.
- 49:30Speaker 4: It's cool too. Like then then all of a sudden,
- 49:33Speaker 4: he like is singing at the Empire so poorly.
- 49:39Speaker 1: Yeah, he's a bad singer. It was bad for sure. Yeah,
- 49:43Speaker 1: that's bad.
- 49:43Speaker 4: I remember that.
- 49:45Speaker 1: Yeah, I can't tell.
- 49:48Speaker 4: I can't tell if he's actually playing the harmonica or
- 49:51Speaker 4: if they put that in at the end. It would
- 49:53Speaker 4: have been really impressive, dude, if he wasn't, like because
- 49:58Speaker 4: I was really watching. Also, time they timed the knife
- 50:01Speaker 4: throw to the harmonica, Like yes, sweeping up. Yeah, yeah,
- 50:06Speaker 4: that's awesome. But yeah, I mean he's great in this
- 50:11Speaker 4: muges what do you got?
- 50:13Speaker 1: Ah?
- 50:14Speaker 3: I love Daniel Stern just so much.
- 50:18Speaker 1: Of his movies. Daniel Stern.
- 50:20Speaker 3: He's kind of a wiener in this a little bit,
- 50:22Speaker 3: but he has some fun parts for sure. And he's
- 50:25Speaker 3: the neurotic friend in this one, which is kind of fun.
- 50:28Speaker 3: And he gets to like lose his mind a little
- 50:31Speaker 3: bit for a while, which is kind of fun.
- 50:33Speaker 1: One of the best high pitched screamers.
- 50:35Speaker 4: He's so dude. We did. I feel like we talked
- 50:39Speaker 4: about it on a pod every single year. Him cutting
- 50:42Speaker 4: loose the stream. Yeah. In Home Alone, Spider makes me
- 50:47Speaker 4: actually like cry.
- 50:48Speaker 1: It's so funny. It's how about when he's he's locked
- 50:53Speaker 1: in the cage in the year.
- 50:57Speaker 4: We also were saying, he goes full uh Marv in
- 51:02Speaker 4: this movie when he's like Harry or Harry, Yeah, sorry,
- 51:07Speaker 4: is he here Marv? Harry?
- 51:10Speaker 1: Right, he's.
- 51:12Speaker 4: He's always Yeah.
- 51:18Speaker 8: When he goes if if what was if? If if
- 51:22Speaker 8: hate was the people you'd be, and then he just
- 51:26Speaker 8: the quick look to everyone.
- 51:28Speaker 1: Yeah, he's so good. I just love it. I think
- 51:33Speaker 1: it's so fun.
- 51:34Speaker 4: But also in this like two year span. He's like
- 51:38Speaker 4: over a billion at the box office between the two
- 51:42Speaker 4: and this isn't he like, because then they do Home
- 51:44Speaker 4: on two really quick, like this is in between the
- 51:47Speaker 4: two malones and he's just his off Wonder Years.
- 51:51Speaker 1: To Rock and Wonder Years. Yeah, that's incredible. Yeah, that's
- 51:56Speaker 1: pretty nice. You had a good run.
- 51:58Speaker 4: And he only directed the one movie did Rookie of
- 52:00Speaker 4: the Year, and that was it.
- 52:02Speaker 3: Yeah, he directed, and we kept looking for like trivia
- 52:07Speaker 3: of like I had a terrible time or something, and
- 52:09Speaker 3: is that the only one?
- 52:10Speaker 1: It wasn't reported. I don't know why he didn't.
- 52:13Speaker 4: It's because he had to stop Bucy from doing a
- 52:15Speaker 4: bunch of blow and we got kids on sets, and
- 52:23Speaker 4: Gary he's like, Gary's like my art. He's like pitching.
- 52:29Speaker 1: Rocket cool down, bro crack down.
- 52:33Speaker 4: Even though I loved Rookie of the Year, but I
- 52:35Speaker 4: think it overshadowed Little Big League, which I think is a.
- 52:38Speaker 1: Better and the year is better.
- 52:42Speaker 4: Yeah, I really loved the year.
- 52:45Speaker 1: Man Rosin Rosen Fruger, ros Rosenbagger so fun funky, butt loving,
- 52:54Speaker 1: funky butt love.
- 52:55Speaker 4: And it gave us the name of the name of
- 52:56Speaker 4: my other band, which.
- 52:59Speaker 1: These are great names.
- 53:01Speaker 4: I'm pretty pretty busy.
- 53:03Speaker 1: Is that a band? Prolific?
- 53:04Speaker 4: Don't worry about it.
- 53:06Speaker 1: I did not remember Jeffrey Tambor in this. I didn't
- 53:10Speaker 1: remember that he was in this, And I was gobsmacked
- 53:14Speaker 1: when I saw little Jake Jillen Hall as Danny Robbins.
- 53:18Speaker 4: That really blew my mind. That was fun.
- 53:20Speaker 1: Oh you didn't know when you on the rewatch, you
- 53:22Speaker 1: didn't know that he was in this.
- 53:24Speaker 4: I mean when I saw his face, but I didn't
- 53:27Speaker 4: remember that from how long ago? Yeah? That was really fun,
- 53:31Speaker 4: so fun. He was good.
- 53:33Speaker 1: Apparently the sister was actually Billy Crystal's daughter.
- 53:37Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, that's crazy, it's fun. I saw that in
- 53:40Speaker 3: the trivia. That's pretty wild.
- 53:42Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 53:42Speaker 4: She's a weird hugger though.
- 53:44Speaker 1: Yeah, I thought she'd be better.
- 53:46Speaker 4: She does pushes her hips back, Yeah, she absolutely did.
- 53:51Speaker 1: Actual dad. Yeah that's weird. Interesting.
- 53:56Speaker 4: Yeah, but yes, everyone everyone else in the the whole
- 54:01Speaker 4: group going out. What's his name? Cookie also had a
- 54:06Speaker 4: nice couple of years, remember because he's in He's in
- 54:08Speaker 4: The Batman too. Oh sure, yeah, hell with Jack Palance.
- 54:14Speaker 1: Strangely, uh, Phil phil Lewis is really funny. I like
- 54:19Speaker 1: that guy.
- 54:19Speaker 3: He's been in a few things.
- 54:20Speaker 4: Over one of the dentists.
- 54:22Speaker 1: Yeah, he's the Sun Dentists. I like the dad too,
- 54:25Speaker 1: the Bill Hill Henderson. They're both really funny. I liked
- 54:29Speaker 1: those two together. They were fun.
- 54:31Speaker 3: They had their own little arc together too, which was fun.
- 54:34Speaker 3: Doesn't know what's happened in these these movies either.
- 54:36Speaker 1: I feel like, what do you think is.
- 54:38Speaker 4: The craziest oscar Win? If I give you Kevin Klein
- 54:41Speaker 4: for a Fish called Wanda, Marissa Tome for my cousin
- 54:45Speaker 4: Vinny or this.
- 54:46Speaker 1: One, this one, this one for sure yea, And there's
- 54:52Speaker 1: so much more.
- 54:54Speaker 3: Of the movie, arguably Fish called Wanda because it's a
- 54:57Speaker 3: comedy and they hate comedies.
- 54:59Speaker 1: Maybe, but he's perfect, that he's wonderful. I'm not I'm
- 55:03Speaker 1: not saying I don't agree that might be the most surprising. Yeah,
- 55:08Speaker 1: I mean, look, I've said you bench one I think
- 55:11Speaker 1: is weirder than those ones for real.
- 55:14Speaker 4: Actually, yes, that's true. I'm not shocked by the tom one,
- 55:17Speaker 4: Like she's incredible at all. She's just we've talked about
- 55:20Speaker 4: it forever. The Oscars just like overlooks comedy and you know,
- 55:24Speaker 4: I've talked about this on this pod before as an actor,
- 55:27Speaker 4: people have always asked me like, oh, what do you
- 55:30Speaker 4: what do you think is harder comedy or drama or
- 55:34Speaker 4: and I'm you know, I'm always like they're exactly the same. Yeah,
- 55:37Speaker 4: And you can tell the actors that understand this the
- 55:40Speaker 4: only difference is the writing. And I would argue, when
- 55:43Speaker 4: it's really funny writing, you should be more serious or
- 55:49Speaker 4: find the more grounded parts, and when it's really dramatic,
- 55:53Speaker 4: you should find some levity. I think of like a
- 55:55Speaker 4: Brian Cranston or like, yes, people.
- 55:58Speaker 3: Like Leslie Nielsen's whole thing right, yeah, it work so
- 56:01Speaker 3: well as he just was like he played it like
- 56:03Speaker 3: an Oscar movie.
- 56:05Speaker 4: And the people, the people who understand this are the
- 56:07Speaker 4: ones that can just do both because they are like, yeah,
- 56:10Speaker 4: it's exactly the same.
- 56:12Speaker 1: Yes, for sure, It's just about being committed. Uh sweet, Well,
- 56:19Speaker 1: why don't we why don't we move? Let's talk about
- 56:21Speaker 1: our favorite scene. Let's choose the dingus is quite simple, really,
- 56:27Speaker 1: dingus us. I could talk about my dingas all night long.
- 56:32Speaker 3: Our guess what's your favorite scene?
- 56:34Speaker 4: Start from me?
- 56:35Speaker 1: As well, I'm gonna let you go.
- 56:37Speaker 4: I mean the opening is great, the running too, Yeah,
- 56:42Speaker 4: I didn't remember that next thing they actually shot there too.
- 56:45Speaker 1: Like that's pretty crazy, and I love it, like I
- 56:50Speaker 1: love it.
- 56:51Speaker 5: World does the credits in the old nineties credits, but
- 56:53Speaker 5: then I love the playing the animated credit.
- 56:56Speaker 4: Also, I assume this is the same animation that did
- 57:00Speaker 4: like National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, Like it looks exactly sure does.
- 57:05Speaker 4: And I love that they're like, we're going to take
- 57:07Speaker 4: like eleven minutes and show you a cartoon.
- 57:10Speaker 3: You're seeing all of it.
- 57:11Speaker 1: I did think about that. I forget say that for
- 57:13Speaker 1: the draft.
- 57:14Speaker 3: We could have done that for the draft. Yeah, the
- 57:16Speaker 3: openings or something.
- 57:18Speaker 4: I don't think we've done it easier than cows. Yeah,
- 57:23Speaker 4: I don't know, half hour, but it's true. If you
- 57:29Speaker 4: think about that opening, it's awesome. And then that just
- 57:31Speaker 4: that little doctor's office scene you really learn about their
- 57:33Speaker 4: whole so funny, and.
- 57:35Speaker 5: Then it goes right into the plane scene to where
- 57:37Speaker 5: you also kind of get there really with the wives
- 57:41Speaker 5: and all the all that.
- 57:42Speaker 4: Like, I think it's a really good first what like
- 57:44Speaker 4: ten minutes, not even yeah, really good? You really it's
- 57:47Speaker 4: a good is that what you're going with?
- 57:51Speaker 1: Oh no, he's throwing out autimble mention.
- 57:54Speaker 5: The best scene is probably we know what the best scene,
- 57:57Speaker 5: best day, worst day, best.
- 57:59Speaker 4: Day, worsted so good.
- 58:01Speaker 1: I mean, I think that's it for me too.
- 58:03Speaker 4: It's just unnecessarily.
- 58:09Speaker 1: That's wonderful.
- 58:11Speaker 4: I shouldn't be crying during this movie, right, We'll get
- 58:15Speaker 4: to that a few moments.
- 58:16Speaker 1: Yeah, it's also impressive that this guy rocking a METS
- 58:20Speaker 1: hat the whole movie talks about.
- 58:22Speaker 4: I mean, it's the most well do you know, you
- 58:24Speaker 4: know why we can talk about it when he gets
- 58:29Speaker 4: a trivia but that that is ridiculous.
- 58:31Speaker 1: It's pretty crazy.
- 58:33Speaker 4: You also know she's not wearing the METS.
- 58:35Speaker 5: He has it like in his in his lap in
- 58:37Speaker 5: that s I think he they realized he can't be
- 58:40Speaker 5: wearing a METS hat.
- 58:42Speaker 4: And that's like a real his a real story of
- 58:44Speaker 4: his which I love.
- 58:47Speaker 1: Yeah, that's wonderful.
- 58:49Speaker 4: I guess for fun, I would say, I guess I
- 58:51Speaker 4: would say the river scene, yeah, because it's very intense
- 58:56Speaker 4: and it's very well shot, and it's also touching and uh,
- 59:04Speaker 4: it's just so well done. Yeah, more well done than
- 59:08Speaker 4: it needs to be. And yeah, and Bruno Kirby kissing
- 59:12Speaker 4: him on the forehead at the end I'm.
- 59:13Speaker 1: Just like, yeah, it's good, the best, the best. I
- 59:20Speaker 1: was gonna cheat and just say Mitch's time with Curly
- 59:23Speaker 1: so like making him rope the cattle having their heart
- 59:29Speaker 1: to heart with the one thing. I mean, the one
- 59:31Speaker 1: thing is so high on that. That is what I
- 59:34Speaker 1: think of with this movie. And then you have Norman's
- 59:39Speaker 1: birth in there too. Yeah, that seems crazy, very great scene. Yeah,
- 59:46Speaker 1: but I loved all three of those.
- 59:47Speaker 5: I was just gonna I would count that as just
- 59:50Speaker 5: literally I just had Curly im together. Yeah, that ten
- 59:53Speaker 5: minute stretch or whatever, it's really good.
- 59:56Speaker 4: I love that part of the movie. And Suli is
- 59:58Speaker 4: an oscar of a win. Maybe it seems like he
- 1:00:01Speaker 4: is dynamite in that fantastic Yeah, I mean he does everything.
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: His talent is not the weird part of it for sure.
- 1:00:11Speaker 4: And we were talking earlier like I've never really seen
- 1:00:14Speaker 4: like I know, Shane is a big movie, yeah, which
- 1:00:19Speaker 4: I've never seen either. That's like a famous, a pretty
- 1:00:22Speaker 4: famous performance. And he's like apparently he was kind of
- 1:00:25Speaker 4: always the bad guy.
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: It's like a huge guy.
- 1:00:30Speaker 5: It looks like I mean, yeah, I think I think
- 1:00:33Speaker 5: in his day he was he was towering. Yeah, I
- 1:00:36Speaker 5: was undesigned to be. I have not seen any of
- 1:00:38Speaker 5: his films except for this, about that, about that, Yeah,
- 1:00:44Speaker 5: you know.
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: Well, of course, my brother, brilliant, brilliant, we got it.
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: They were not just going for the money for sure.
- 1:01:00Speaker 4: Of thought. Yes, I said earlier what they should have
- 1:01:06Speaker 4: done was at the end of this movie, Bruno Kirby says,
- 1:01:09Speaker 4: next year north Pole dog sled Yeah, I should have
- 1:01:15Speaker 4: done yea yeah. I was like, I was like, they
- 1:01:18Speaker 4: probably thought of the logistics of that, like and actually
- 1:01:22Speaker 4: not to step on our trivia touchdown calls. But apparently
- 1:01:25Speaker 4: Charles Bronson was was approached for Curly.
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: First I didn't see I didn't see that.
- 1:01:33Speaker 4: I read it somewhere else and that's cool. And apparently
- 1:01:36Speaker 4: he was like it was like pissed that he died
- 1:01:39Speaker 4: or something. Oh oh, and again he was like the
- 1:01:44Speaker 4: Steven Sagal of his time.
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: He should die.
- 1:01:47Speaker 4: He was pretty famously I don't die and uh and
- 1:01:51Speaker 4: so he like said no, and then they got Jack Palance.
- 1:01:54Speaker 4: But I'm like, how if they did North Pole and
- 1:01:57Speaker 4: Charles Bronson was like that was like a dog sledder guy,
- 1:02:02Speaker 4: It had been amazing.
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: Yeah to watch that for sure, me too, absolutely What
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: did you have for your favorite scene? Bro?
- 1:02:11Speaker 3: I think I would pick the best worst day for sure.
- 1:02:15Speaker 4: That's a great scene.
- 1:02:17Speaker 3: Special shout out to the I really loved the scene
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: where they confronted the two the like two other guys
- 1:02:25Speaker 3: that were helping out like the leaders of the thing after.
- 1:02:28Speaker 4: Guys who are very normal people and then have a
- 1:02:30Speaker 4: drink and become a murder date rapists. Yeah.
- 1:02:36Speaker 3: I mean they were being very forward with her at
- 1:02:39Speaker 3: the beginning, so there was really says, you've been drinking
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: of it.
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: Yeah, oh that's true, he did. I forgot about that.
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: Yeah, well, they were getting into their cups there. But
- 1:02:50Speaker 3: I thought I thought it was really fun and from
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: like a maybe this is uh reading too much into it,
- 1:02:57Speaker 3: but I loved the like depiction of he's still being
- 1:03:01Speaker 3: very manly and cowboy by going out there and doing
- 1:03:04Speaker 3: what's right, but he also does it in his own
- 1:03:07Speaker 3: way where he's like trying to diffuse the situation. He's
- 1:03:10Speaker 3: trying to do like you know, he's like, yeah, I'll
- 1:03:13Speaker 3: have to, you know, eat a little bit of crow,
- 1:03:14Speaker 3: but whatever, who cares, Let's just get this taken care
- 1:03:17Speaker 3: of and you know, like but he's trying to like
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: kind of be the funny guy to them too, to
- 1:03:22Speaker 3: hope that they just chill out, you know.
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: And I thought that was really great. I just loved
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: that whole thing. I thought was really fun and scary
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: as well, of course.
- 1:03:31Speaker 4: So i'd give a shout outs to like before you know,
- 1:03:34Speaker 4: like the career day scene is pretty great.
- 1:03:37Speaker 5: It is a great scene, is pretty great, great monologue,
- 1:03:40Speaker 5: the stampede scene, the coffee grinder.
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, that's a wonderful scene. He like the like
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: a lion king thing where he's at the top of
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: the tree. The tree shot is unbel.
- 1:03:53Speaker 4: That's a little bit not to step on.
- 1:03:55Speaker 5: The next guys like, wow, look at him, Go.
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: What spooked him? That's good? Yeah, that's wonderful.
- 1:04:11Speaker 4: Yeah, and you know, the final is so great that.
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: That is fun.
- 1:04:19Speaker 4: Also Billy also his just re entrance with the cowboy
- 1:04:22Speaker 4: hat on is so good, which also I said to Gad,
- 1:04:27Speaker 4: we watched it the other day and I don't I
- 1:04:30Speaker 4: don't know how I never clocked this. He's wearing Curly's hat.
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: Yeah, oh I didn't realize that either. Yeah, that makes sense.
- 1:04:39Speaker 4: Because when Curly dies, he picks up his like pile
- 1:04:42Speaker 4: of like he's got his like his plaid shirt and
- 1:04:44Speaker 4: is likes like jacket in his hat.
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: So did he dress curly before they buried it? I
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: think he just took his code.
- 1:04:53Speaker 4: They buried him nude. He has to be nude, the
- 1:04:55Speaker 4: critters nude when buried. Everyone knows that real friend teersman.
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: He's my brother, and you buried him naked.
- 1:05:12Speaker 4: That's good.
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: That's really good.
- 1:05:15Speaker 4: Oh Jesus. Yeah, Well do you think do you think
- 1:05:20Speaker 4: it would have been better to drop the because we
- 1:05:25Speaker 4: said earlier? I do like when he says, came here,
- 1:05:28Speaker 4: city slickers, you're gonna leave cowboys. But then at the
- 1:05:32Speaker 4: end of the stampede, they do a nice close up
- 1:05:35Speaker 4: on Jack Palance and he goes.
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: City folk City.
- 1:05:39Speaker 4: It would have been better to drop city slickers right there,
- 1:05:43Speaker 4: maybe on the nose. I like when.
- 1:05:46Speaker 3: I feel like a real cowboy, wouldn't say city slicker,
- 1:05:50Speaker 3: feels like an owner thing.
- 1:05:52Speaker 4: I like the way. I like the way the other
- 1:05:54Speaker 4: day I just wanted to present it everything.
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: I like it. I like that. I like the way
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: Paul Rudd says it.
- 1:06:03Speaker 4: I thought about it the best.
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: That's the best. Have you guys done that movie?
- 1:06:09Speaker 4: Oh yeah, God.
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: Yeah, God damn so I think we should do probably
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: a dual dual ding guy, I'm thinking the best day,
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: worst day, and then my vote would be just Mitch's
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: time with Curly. I love that.
- 1:06:24Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm super in on that. What's a great called
- 1:06:27Speaker 4: one thing? Just this your finger, just this? Yeah, still
- 1:06:33Speaker 4: I still haven't figured it out in my life.
- 1:06:34Speaker 3: For me, that's the one thing, my finger in various
- 1:06:37Speaker 3: parts in crisis and wherever its destination.
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: Might be, wherever it decides to travel that day, you.
- 1:06:44Speaker 3: Know, just smelling it so much, Robb so disappointed, just
- 1:06:50Speaker 3: so you got to check the oil, you know, keep
- 1:06:52Speaker 3: that more importantly, stop asking others to smell it.
- 1:06:56Speaker 4: That's where we That's where that in these some of
- 1:07:00Speaker 4: these relationships are getting a little strained.
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: You you can all right, well let's let's do some quotes,
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: you guys, and let's show me the money, show me
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: the monney show me wants to say some quotes, do it?
- 1:07:23Speaker 4: I mean, I'll start with the biggest flex ever, a
- 1:07:25Speaker 4: crap bigger than you. That's a big flex best ever.
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: Also, also just tyerurly killed anyone today. That's great.
- 1:07:39Speaker 4: Those are both those are both great. Anytime he talks
- 1:07:41Speaker 4: to me I'm sorry, Yeah, I didn't mean that. What
- 1:07:51Speaker 4: do you guys got.
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: Definitely have those. Yeah, we said that your finger, bit
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: love your finger. Just one thing you stick to that
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: and the rest don't mean but what is the one
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: thing that's what you have to find out? Pretty great? Yeah,
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: I really loved and I don't think I got this
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: when when I was a kid. But when Bruno Kirby
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: has given Daniel Stern for having sex with the clerk,
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: the grocery clerk, he's like, what did you use for protection?
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: Paper past.
- 1:08:26Speaker 2: That?
- 1:08:27Speaker 4: Yeah, big fan, it's kind of dark. I like the
- 1:08:34Speaker 4: line though, it's just when she's like, it's my present,
- 1:08:39Speaker 4: go and find your smile and he's like, what if
- 1:08:41Speaker 4: I can't, And she says, we'll jump off that bridge
- 1:08:43Speaker 4: when we come to it.
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: Yeah, it's pretty great. His wife's a little dark.
- 1:08:48Speaker 4: In this movie. I mean, I get you know, he's
- 1:08:52Speaker 4: he's clearly what I mean. You know.
- 1:08:55Speaker 3: She's also like, you seem like you've been trying to
- 1:08:57Speaker 3: tell me something. Was it that you're gonna scream at
- 1:08:59Speaker 3: me in front of a big party of people tell
- 1:09:02Speaker 3: me you want to kill me? Is that?
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: What is that? What you mean? Be great?
- 1:09:08Speaker 3: Great, I love Billy Crystal when he's like, I mean
- 1:09:11Speaker 3: I've walked, I've ambled, even Sachet once, but that was
- 1:09:15Speaker 3: in front of the draft board.
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: I loved that line. Really fun.
- 1:09:24Speaker 4: I know Benny likes this one. If anything happens to him,
- 1:09:28Speaker 4: I'm going after Barber. I'm going after Barbara's really good.
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: I love that and I love it.
- 1:09:34Speaker 4: Brutal Kirby just he just kind of like nods. He
- 1:09:37Speaker 4: doesn't even look at him.
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: He's like, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, it was so good,
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: so good one that you.
- 1:09:47Speaker 4: Just said to me on many times. I like your ass.
- 1:09:49Speaker 4: Can I wear it as a hat? Yeah? All he
- 1:09:54Speaker 4: said was night nights, sleep tight. What are we talking
- 1:09:57Speaker 4: about it? And I woke up to days later.
- 1:10:05Speaker 3: I was barely involved. I think it's the ranch owner
- 1:10:09Speaker 3: that we talked about earlier.
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: But he was like, great, god's a goose.
- 1:10:13Speaker 4: That's absolutely.
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: He also had the what did he say, I'm as
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: happy as a puppy with two beaters.
- 1:10:23Speaker 3: Yes, that's a good one, really good. Also love when
- 1:10:30Speaker 3: they're like, look, folks, it's not like any of them
- 1:10:32Speaker 3: have much of a life anyway, talking about the herd,
- 1:10:35Speaker 3: and he goes, well, neither does Phil but we're not
- 1:10:38Speaker 3: prepared to eat him.
- 1:10:40Speaker 4: That's right.
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: I'm about that. That's right. I'm talking about that today.
- 1:10:45Speaker 4: It's just a strange moment when they're like, we need
- 1:10:47Speaker 4: to explain, like what happens with cows.
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't why did they feel like they had
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: to put that in there that we don't really know?
- 1:10:55Speaker 4: Like, I don't know why those three are so like
- 1:11:00Speaker 4: prize by it either. So this is literally why you
- 1:11:03Speaker 4: why you drove cattle to get them.
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: To places to No, it's just to get their exercise.
- 1:11:09Speaker 4: Yeah, it's just.
- 1:11:11Speaker 3: Say to like, well usually we just bring them back
- 1:11:14Speaker 3: and it's like, well you just so you just want
- 1:11:16Speaker 3: pay back and for it.
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: That's awful. Nice, I guess I don't know.
- 1:11:21Speaker 4: Yeah, that's a good call. Uh So.
- 1:11:24Speaker 3: One of my favorite parts of the best Day of
- 1:11:26Speaker 3: Worst Day scene is when he's like what was your
- 1:11:28Speaker 3: worst day? He's like he talks about his wedding, and
- 1:11:30Speaker 3: then he's like every day since it's probably a tie.
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: Yeah, that was good.
- 1:11:37Speaker 4: Me and Me and Gate were saying, this one hasn't
- 1:11:39Speaker 4: this one hasn't aged. Well, I wish you hadn't worn
- 1:11:42Speaker 4: this jacket. What's wrong with it? Well, look at it.
- 1:11:43Speaker 4: It's got your name and your picture on it. It's
- 1:11:45Speaker 4: a little grotesque. I'm proud of what I do. Well,
- 1:11:47Speaker 4: so is the president. He doesn't wear his picture on
- 1:11:49Speaker 4: his suit.
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: Yeah. I thought well he might. He might well, I
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: bet if we gave him a good one.
- 1:11:59Speaker 3: What.
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: I just love that up.
- 1:12:02Speaker 3: I love that very first. The doctor scene too, and
- 1:12:05Speaker 3: he's like, hey, don't sew anything up that's supposed to
- 1:12:08Speaker 3: remain open.
- 1:12:10Speaker 4: It good.
- 1:12:12Speaker 5: Hello, I'm kind of a random one where half of
- 1:12:18Speaker 5: the carriage goes over the cliff.
- 1:12:21Speaker 4: It just cuts to the two mounds.
- 1:12:23Speaker 5: It's just, yeah, what can you say about Skyrocket and Buttercup?
- 1:12:33Speaker 4: Right after that, when she's like what did we have
- 1:12:39Speaker 4: the horses, he's like, well, actually they drove pretty far
- 1:12:42Speaker 4: into the ground impact.
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: It's not that they gave him.
- 1:12:47Speaker 4: The cut to Skyrocket and Buttercup is really.
- 1:12:51Speaker 3: I'll tell you, when we were going to do horses,
- 1:12:53Speaker 3: the Buttercup scene from half was going to be my
- 1:12:56Speaker 3: number one.
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure butter stuff. I was talking about horse here.
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: The horse is a diabeg.
- 1:13:07Speaker 4: So good.
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: I'm wondering if this bit started here. It had to
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: have been before this. But when Billy Crystal is gone.
- 1:13:16Speaker 4: The man was hay, I hired help, and did you
- 1:13:18Speaker 4: notice his iy is crazy?
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: He's a lunatic. We're going into the wilderness beat being
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: led by a lunatic. He's behind. Yeah, I thought the
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: same thing. It had to be such good.
- 1:13:30Speaker 4: It's we have seen it. You're right, I would. I
- 1:13:32Speaker 4: would love to know if that's the first time that's
- 1:13:34Speaker 4: been used, because it's good because it always works. It
- 1:13:37Speaker 4: works every time.
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: Yeah, it's perfect, it's always great.
- 1:13:41Speaker 4: I love that bit.
- 1:13:45Speaker 3: I'm just gonna say real quickly before we have the
- 1:13:47Speaker 3: hard cut to Buttercup. I love right before that.
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: One, he's like he's headed for the ravine and they're like,
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: I'm sure he sees it.
- 1:13:58Speaker 4: Just a super drunk guy that. Yeah, that's amazing, really funny.
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: My only other one I wrote down was that's really wonderful.
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: You got him to drink from the bottle, says yeah,
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: thank god, because my nipples were killing me. Yeah. I
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: love that. Good clean fun, good clean fun. I can't
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: remember what what they're teaching them.
- 1:14:19Speaker 3: It's the three friends.
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: But when he's just like he doesn't get it, he'll
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: never get it.
- 1:14:23Speaker 3: It's been four hours.
- 1:14:25Speaker 4: It's the VCR.
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: It's the that's right, that's right.
- 1:14:28Speaker 4: I had that in my best scenes.
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: But yeah, it's just like it's been four hours. The
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: cows came to it by now please.
- 1:14:35Speaker 5: Yeah, and anyone under anyone under forty probably want to
- 1:14:39Speaker 5: understand that, just like how to record off of TV
- 1:14:43Speaker 5: with your VHS.
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: Think how confused they'd be about like channel three? What
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: what are you talking about here?
- 1:14:50Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, that's a good bit.
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: I thought that was funny. So how do you change
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: the clock?
- 1:14:57Speaker 4: Then he really loses?
- 1:14:58Speaker 5: Yeah, kids these days don't know how how hard we
- 1:15:03Speaker 5: had it off TV.
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:15:08Speaker 4: I still don't even understand how it was able to
- 1:15:10Speaker 4: record without the.
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: TV without them watching it.
- 1:15:12Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't. I still don't get that technology, and
- 1:15:16Speaker 4: that technology is very you're never gonna get it.
- 1:15:20Speaker 3: The can do it by now.
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: That's great. That was all the ones I had.
- 1:15:28Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean it's one of those like you know,
- 1:15:32Speaker 4: you could literally everything.
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: Yeah, there's a ton right, Yeah, there's a lot of
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: I'm on vacation, we could that's definitely.
- 1:15:39Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: I did love that A repeating one. That's a good one.
- 1:15:41Speaker 4: But all right, well let's let's move on. Let's do mugs.
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: Boo boom moments. I had six, but I feel like
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: four of them are like boom boom boom boom boom
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: right on top of each other, so I don't know
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: if they're all like gets into one big booo. So
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: I'll go through and tell you mine. Okay. The first
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: one I had was Phil crying after pulling the gun
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: on the bullies. Yeah, absolutely, for sure. Norman licking him
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: after saving his life. Yeah, yeah, I love that. There's
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: probably more before that, but these are the ones that
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: were sure sure singing raw Hyde after successfully bringing in
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: the herd. Yep.
- 1:16:27Speaker 3: Absolutely yes.
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: When they're he's at like the stable in, Norman like
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: comes to him, like through the fence.
- 1:16:36Speaker 4: And starts licking him.
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: It's great. The hard cut to seeing his kids when
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: he said only one thing mattered to him. I did
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: love that that and then him actually just saying today
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: is my best day.
- 1:16:52Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm going to add the the best dance, best day,
- 1:17:00Speaker 4: worst day scene.
- 1:17:01Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, that's absolutely And I just did that whole
- 1:17:05Speaker 3: scene because there's like a couple of parts probably that
- 1:17:07Speaker 3: would work, but.
- 1:17:10Speaker 4: Probably I would also add go find your smile.
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: Oh I don't. I didn't write that one.
- 1:17:17Speaker 3: Down, actually go find your smile.
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: Yeah. I still think that's kind of weird. I don't
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: think she would have done that, but maybe she would have.
- 1:17:28Speaker 4: I was just throwing it out there.
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, you wouldn't give me though.
- 1:17:34Speaker 5: I mean the big one was the Bruno Kirby absolutely same.
- 1:17:40Speaker 5: The same dayline is probably the.
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: Are we are we missing any you're missing one? We're
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: at seven okay, and.
- 1:17:50Speaker 3: You've danced around it a little bit. But I think
- 1:17:52Speaker 3: it's separate than what you guys have said.
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: Is it? Is it?
- 1:17:55Speaker 5: Uh?
- 1:17:56Speaker 4: Is it a curly thing?
- 1:17:57Speaker 3: Curly with the finger, not curly with the finger. It
- 1:18:04Speaker 3: involves oh is it Bruno Kirby kissing his head?
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: No, but I did love that.
- 1:18:09Speaker 4: I did love that.
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: Uh, this involves our Tucci nominee Norman Norman and of course,
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: and he's like, I made a cow.
- 1:18:33Speaker 4: That was good. I love that.
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: Well, that guy's dead. He could probably retrieve it. And wait,
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: didn't you look up that they.
- 1:18:42Speaker 4: To step on trivia?
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: If you guys have, I don't think I saw. We'll
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: get to it in a second. That was all of them, though,
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: So what was I eight? Eight? Eight? Quite pretty close?
- 1:18:53Speaker 4: Wait till the hard and souls. Bro, you're good.
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: Maybe that's why I haven't watched it. I'm not so good.
- 1:19:00Speaker 4: It's really great though, So it's like the greatest cast
- 1:19:03Speaker 4: of like, yeah, it's so good of like not big stars,
- 1:19:08Speaker 4: but everyone you're like, it's like the breest cast of
- 1:19:10Speaker 4: that guy's ever.
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: Robert Donney Junior is the biggest.
- 1:19:14Speaker 5: He's basically four dead people are trying to move on
- 1:19:18Speaker 5: to the afterlife and Robert Donney Junior has to help them.
- 1:19:21Speaker 4: He's growing way.
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: It's Rod.
- 1:19:28Speaker 4: And and his is Elizabeth Elizabeth. It's an amazing everyone's
- 1:19:35Speaker 4: the mom.
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: I'm gonna love that movie. I think I'm excited.
- 1:19:39Speaker 4: It's a great movie. And you got David Pamer is
- 1:19:42Speaker 4: the bus driver. My mom loved that movie. Is when
- 1:19:45Speaker 4: we were growing up so.
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: Long we always.
- 1:19:51Speaker 4: He hasn't seen that either. It's a Steven Spielberg movie
- 1:19:54Speaker 4: with Holly Hunter and Dreyfus and John Goodman.
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: Is that also like an early to mid nineties movie?
- 1:20:00Speaker 3: Early early nineties I'm so bad at those ones didn't
- 1:20:03Speaker 3: do very well.
- 1:20:04Speaker 4: But it's another just like okay, cry your eyes out.
- 1:20:07Speaker 4: I think it got sort of market corrected by Ghost,
- 1:20:09Speaker 4: but it's kind of the same vein.
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: I did love ghost. I did see that one. Oh dude,
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: it's great. Ghost.
- 1:20:16Speaker 4: I just think it always ghost is amazing, Yes, but
- 1:20:20Speaker 4: always sorry about ghosts.
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: We've talked about this before, but the demons and ghosts
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: scared the hell out of me when I was.
- 1:20:29Speaker 4: Very scary.
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: Yeah, well let's do let's do some of that, tah.
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: I don't think I have your guys is, so feel
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: free to pepper them in there. But let's start with
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: this one.
- 1:20:42Speaker 3: The story that Billy Crystal tells I guess we referenced
- 1:20:45Speaker 3: this about his best day of going to the Yankees.
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: Game with his father is a true childhood story.
- 1:20:49Speaker 4: It's such a good story.
- 1:20:50Speaker 3: And he said he still has the program for you,
- 1:20:52Speaker 3: which is what a treasure. I hope that's not a
- 1:20:55Speaker 3: safe or something that's great. There was another true story
- 1:20:59Speaker 3: from billy life portrayed in the movie, and that's when
- 1:21:03Speaker 3: his mom calls him on his birthday, which is a
- 1:21:05Speaker 3: pretty great series. Actually, according to the DVD commentary, his
- 1:21:09Speaker 3: mother would call him on his birthday around five o'clock
- 1:21:11Speaker 3: in the morning, which was the time he was born,
- 1:21:13Speaker 3: and verbally reenact the event over the phone. The rendition
- 1:21:17Speaker 3: in The film is word for word, the true story
- 1:21:19Speaker 3: of Billy Crystal's life.
- 1:21:22Speaker 4: That is really funny.
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: That so great.
- 1:21:24Speaker 4: Even he's got to laugh.
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, even the big breath in too so good,
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: so good, And you could tell like he's annoyed, but
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: he also loves it. You know.
- 1:21:37Speaker 3: It's one of those like perfect things.
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: I love that.
- 1:21:41Speaker 3: As a rule, Jack Pounce did not watch his own movies,
- 1:21:44Speaker 3: and thus he did not see this movie until after
- 1:21:47Speaker 3: he won.
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: The Oscar for it, which pretty wild, So that's fun.
- 1:21:52Speaker 3: Daniel Stern declined the writing lessons offered for the movie
- 1:21:55Speaker 3: in order to better convey his character's inexperience at horse riding.
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: Out to me, that sounds like he was being lazy,
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: but he did it in a way.
- 1:22:05Speaker 4: It I believe that because he looks pretty good on
- 1:22:09Speaker 4: the horse. Yeah, he looks really good. I mean they
- 1:22:13Speaker 4: all look kind of weird, like if we're if we're
- 1:22:15Speaker 4: just gonna be picky about this, Like the people coming
- 1:22:21Speaker 4: in and training for like a day or two and
- 1:22:24Speaker 4: going on a cattle drive is crazy.
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: Yeah, that's madness.
- 1:22:29Speaker 4: Like it's hard to even like trot on a horse,
- 1:22:32Speaker 4: let alone gallop around and reeling rank like that's insane.
- 1:22:39Speaker 4: I don't think I've ever been on a horse sign
- 1:22:42Speaker 4: this forty page waiver please. And also when they get
- 1:22:47Speaker 4: back and the dude's like, hey, it was free, you
- 1:22:49Speaker 4: know what, you know what, I'm giving you all your
- 1:22:50Speaker 4: money back, and Ione's like, ah, yeah, so we don't
- 1:22:53Speaker 4: see I guess he probably trail boss dies and you're
- 1:22:56Speaker 4: either to basically threatened us with murder.
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: One of the guys drove into a ravine when he
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: was erasted.
- 1:23:03Speaker 4: Your staff did not do great. Yeah, your trip Advisor
- 1:23:07Speaker 4: review is not going to be I have the entire
- 1:23:10Speaker 4: staff doesn't make it back. Yeah, literally, the entire staff
- 1:23:14Speaker 4: doesn't come back. Yeah, yes, thank you for our money back. Also,
- 1:23:18Speaker 4: thank you. We need to speak with our attorneys.
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: Yeah, so funny.
- 1:23:22Speaker 3: Uh, this is kind of a tried and true story.
- 1:23:25Speaker 3: But Billy Crystal liked the horse he rode so much
- 1:23:28Speaker 3: he bought him, which I feel like we hear about
- 1:23:30Speaker 3: a bunch of other actors doing that for these guys,
- 1:23:32Speaker 3: And I.
- 1:23:32Speaker 4: Was just saying, Vigo Mortensen bought his and and like
- 1:23:36Speaker 4: one of the main stunt women she like, couldn't afford it,
- 1:23:41Speaker 4: and he bought her both horses and coat and yeah,
- 1:23:44Speaker 4: I love that so fun from Hadelgo are you talking
- 1:23:49Speaker 4: about no? From Lord of the Ring? Yeah, although I
- 1:23:52Speaker 4: love hit Dog going on last Yeah.
- 1:23:55Speaker 3: Uh, the cow giving birth was a It was a puppet,
- 1:24:02Speaker 3: I guess because they wanted several takes of it. The
- 1:24:06Speaker 3: shot of Norman getting to his feet was real footage, however,
- 1:24:09Speaker 3: taken just after his birth. Billy Crystal actually assisted in
- 1:24:13Speaker 3: the delivery. Six calves were used in all, and Crystal
- 1:24:17Speaker 3: arranged for them all to live full lives on a farm.
- 1:24:20Speaker 3: And the shots featuring Crystal were filmed in Colorado, but
- 1:24:23Speaker 3: the shots from the same feat the same scene with
- 1:24:26Speaker 3: Jack Palance were filmed in New York. So I just
- 1:24:28Speaker 3: thought that was kind of fun to see that.
- 1:24:31Speaker 5: I would love to see like a video of Holliday
- 1:24:33Speaker 5: because yeah, the description is very hard to understand, like
- 1:24:37Speaker 5: there's budgets, but then there's also like three to four
- 1:24:39Speaker 5: different cabs.
- 1:24:40Speaker 4: In New York like on a stage.
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know. That was.
- 1:24:47Speaker 5: Is wildly confusing. I mean, it looks great, so it
- 1:24:52Speaker 5: looks so good. So however they did it. They did
- 1:24:55Speaker 5: a great job.
- 1:24:56Speaker 4: But yeah, same we were also we were also saying
- 1:25:00Speaker 4: we'd be curious to know, like how many places they
- 1:25:03Speaker 4: filmed in supposed to be covering a lot of ground,
- 1:25:08Speaker 4: but yet most of it kind of looks the same
- 1:25:10Speaker 4: until they get to like the river.
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: But yeah, that would be interesting.
- 1:25:15Speaker 4: You know, those shoots always seem so crazy because it's like,
- 1:25:19Speaker 4: how far are you from like hotels? Yeah, yeah, there's
- 1:25:23Speaker 4: a lot of people out there that'll be doing this
- 1:25:25Speaker 4: every day. Sure.
- 1:25:25Speaker 5: I mean you got to think they have fifty to
- 1:25:29Speaker 5: one hundred crew members and then all the casts.
- 1:25:31Speaker 4: So you've got this cattle, so they have literal herd
- 1:25:34Speaker 4: of cattle. Yeah, that's crazy. Again, going back to the production, like,
- 1:25:39Speaker 4: this is not an easy thing to do.
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: Yeah, greed, greed.
- 1:25:45Speaker 4: I mean, I'm sure it's hard to get you know,
- 1:25:49Speaker 4: Babs in order, but Babs and Nick Nolty, he's probably
- 1:25:54Speaker 4: doing a bunch of drugs and drinking too. Yeah.
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: I just feel like what they did was harder. Going
- 1:25:59Speaker 1: back to my hottest Yeah, I agree with that.
- 1:26:01Speaker 4: Wrangling Babs is hard. Wrangling a thousand cattle and all
- 1:26:04Speaker 4: its being it feels harder, but maybe.
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: Not, maybe not? Who else? Who else?
- 1:26:09Speaker 3: Bruno Kirby was extremely allergic to horses, so prior to
- 1:26:20Speaker 3: each day of filming involving a horse, he required an
- 1:26:24Speaker 3: injection of allergy medication to get through the days shooting. Wow, bro,
- 1:26:31Speaker 3: maybe maybe this partisan for you, Bruno, I don't know.
- 1:26:34Speaker 4: Well, this is also I heard. I read a thing
- 1:26:37Speaker 4: that like this was his like their reasoning that he
- 1:26:40Speaker 4: didn't do the second one. Mm hm oh, even though
- 1:26:43Speaker 4: it's pretty known that him and Billy Crystal had this
- 1:26:45Speaker 4: like big falling out.
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: Yes, I'm super allergic to horses too, and it sucks,
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: are you really? Yeah? I didn't know that.
- 1:26:55Speaker 3: I'd never been on a horse, and partly because like
- 1:26:58Speaker 3: I pet one as a kid and then was having trouble.
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: Really, it wasn't like the throat swell shut kind It
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: was just like, hey, fever, the worst way.
- 1:27:11Speaker 4: No, have you like, have you like retested that as
- 1:27:14Speaker 4: an adult?
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: No?
- 1:27:16Speaker 4: No, Now I worry that.
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: There's not a structurally sound enough horse for me too.
- 1:27:24Speaker 4: I have a nightmare. This is like one time those
- 1:27:27Speaker 4: horses that have.
- 1:27:28Speaker 3: To really boat that. I got on that one once
- 1:27:32Speaker 3: and he's never been the same one time.
- 1:27:35Speaker 4: One time me and Robbie were in Mexico with our
- 1:27:38Speaker 4: families and we went on we went on this excursion
- 1:27:42Speaker 4: and it was me and Robbie and our buddy Laz
- 1:27:45Speaker 4: and my brother Peter, and we got to the spot
- 1:27:50Speaker 4: and we were They were like, we have to hike
- 1:27:51Speaker 4: into the woods to go to this like lagoon up
- 1:27:54Speaker 4: in the mountains. And they were like, but for like
- 1:27:56Speaker 4: twenty bucks, you can take a donkey. And me, me
- 1:28:00Speaker 4: and Robbie and last were like, yeah, we'll just walk.
- 1:28:03Speaker 4: I'll get a donkey toy buck. Sounds great. We just
- 1:28:07Speaker 4: watched this poor ass donkey and carry his ass through
- 1:28:11Speaker 4: the mountains.
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: We gave him so much.
- 1:28:13Speaker 4: We were like, dude, that donkey's not gonna make a donkey.
- 1:28:17Speaker 4: They had to put that donkey down. He kept saying
- 1:28:19Speaker 4: that after that was that donkey's last day for sure.
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: Hope for pal.
- 1:28:26Speaker 4: I don't know what you have to talk about. I'd
- 1:28:27Speaker 4: be taking a donkey too. O. God, we left so.
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: Kelsey and I did that in Greece when we were there,
- 1:28:36Speaker 1: and I brought up that story so much, so we're
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: gonna have to put this poor thing down.
- 1:28:42Speaker 4: Oh God, Robby, that's like when you were you and
- 1:28:46Speaker 4: your dad were in New York and we were like,
- 1:28:47Speaker 4: we should go up to one of the guys that
- 1:28:50Speaker 4: bicycles around man Us three.
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: What's wrong?
- 1:28:57Speaker 4: You can't put eleven hundred pounds in the back.
- 1:29:01Speaker 1: All of a sudden, that's that bike Rider's Vietnam for
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: the rest of his life.
- 1:29:06Speaker 4: Just start crying as soon as we get in.
- 1:29:09Speaker 1: It's bad enough trying to sit through a musical with
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: you guys on Broadway. He's trying to fit in the seats.
- 1:29:16Speaker 4: Oh my god, that's a real thing.
- 1:29:18Speaker 3: There were different days, so sweaty, let's see where did
- 1:29:22Speaker 3: I leave? Oh with the reason he's wearing the Mets
- 1:29:26Speaker 3: hat despite being a diehard Yankees fan, He explains Billy
- 1:29:31Speaker 3: Crystal does that the Mets made a major contribution and
- 1:29:35Speaker 3: helped out his annual comic relief charity, so he threw
- 1:29:38Speaker 3: him a bone, I guess.
- 1:29:39Speaker 4: Which I think is great.
- 1:29:40Speaker 3: But I'm like, why haven't like, Yeah, it's weird with
- 1:29:43Speaker 3: the monologue, for sure.
- 1:29:44Speaker 1: It just doesn't make any sense.
- 1:29:47Speaker 4: I'm like, if that happened to you, you're a lifelong
- 1:29:49Speaker 4: Yankees fan, find.
- 1:29:51Speaker 1: A different way to celebrate them or something.
- 1:29:53Speaker 4: I don't know, or just the story altered the story
- 1:29:57Speaker 4: to be like I walked into Shaye and we Yeah,
- 1:30:00Speaker 4: that's true. It just feels weird. I mean whatever, it
- 1:30:04Speaker 4: doesn't really matter.
- 1:30:05Speaker 3: It's funny. Interesting though. The last scene that Jack Palance
- 1:30:10Speaker 3: filmed was was the moment where he and Billy Crystal
- 1:30:13Speaker 3: are sitting at the campfire singing the trail songs. So
- 1:30:16Speaker 3: I thought that was kind of fun. That was his wrap,
- 1:30:19Speaker 3: which is kind of cool.
- 1:30:20Speaker 5: Uh.
- 1:30:21Speaker 3: Each actor did their own stunts, which seems pretty crazy.
- 1:30:26Speaker 4: Yeah. I mean again, this is what blows my mind.
- 1:30:28Speaker 4: If Daniel Stern really didn't. Yeah, I mean we literally
- 1:30:32Speaker 4: have the movie on right now and it's we're watching
- 1:30:35Speaker 4: the river scene right now. It's like they're going down
- 1:30:37Speaker 4: that muddy hill.
- 1:30:38Speaker 1: Like that's pretty crazy.
- 1:30:43Speaker 4: Also, we were laughing the other day because early in
- 1:30:45Speaker 4: the in the film, when Billy Crystal, like the first
- 1:30:47Speaker 4: day of the drive, he like goes and wrangles like cattle, yeah,
- 1:30:51Speaker 4: and he like backs up into their line, and we're like,
- 1:30:54Speaker 4: that's a pretty advanced, like force move.
- 1:30:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:30:58Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't think I hear fourth day of riding
- 1:31:00Speaker 4: or whatever it is you're you're going in reverse. He
- 1:31:03Speaker 4: sort of plays it off like the horses.
- 1:31:05Speaker 1: Yeah, doing it himself without him.
- 1:31:07Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah, right, they clearly all kind of know like
- 1:31:11Speaker 4: seem like they know their way around horses.
- 1:31:14Speaker 1: At least a little bit, for sure. I thought this
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: was fun.
- 1:31:17Speaker 3: The characters Ira and Barry were inspired by the real
- 1:31:21Speaker 3: life ice cream entrepreneurs Ben and Jerry, And then in
- 1:31:25Speaker 3: a twenty fifteen Reddit ama, the real life duo Ben
- 1:31:30Speaker 3: and Jerry revealed that most people just assumed that was
- 1:31:33Speaker 3: them in the film with different names, so that was funny.
- 1:31:38Speaker 3: And they added that in real life they can't recommend
- 1:31:40Speaker 3: the perfect ice cream for any meal.
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: That was kind of a fun scene too, the like.
- 1:31:46Speaker 4: And the way they do it like a like like
- 1:31:49Speaker 4: a showdown. Yeah yeah, yeah, great, pretty.
- 1:31:52Speaker 3: Good, similar to the great scene in Biodome where they're
- 1:31:55Speaker 3: smelling each other's farts.
- 1:31:56Speaker 1: Pretty good. I love that movie. We nailed it.
- 1:32:03Speaker 3: This movie's title did not easily translate into foreign languages.
- 1:32:07Speaker 3: In France it was called.
- 1:32:08Speaker 1: La ville lamour levaches literally Life, Love and Cows, which
- 1:32:14Speaker 1: I think is a great.
- 1:32:15Speaker 3: Title my memoir really, and in Italy it was Capo
- 1:32:21Speaker 3: d la cita, la vita lamour levace that's translated.
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: To I ran away from the city, life love and cows,
- 1:32:33Speaker 1: which is pretty fun. That's good.
- 1:32:35Speaker 3: And then in Greece, and I'm not going to try
- 1:32:37Speaker 3: and say this guy, I don't know that. But it
- 1:32:40Speaker 3: translated to, so what did you do in the Far West?
- 1:32:43Speaker 4: Dad?
- 1:32:50Speaker 1: I love the like alternate language names for movies.
- 1:32:55Speaker 3: It's one of my favorite things. It's really great. I
- 1:32:57Speaker 3: should make a game out of that sometime and just
- 1:33:00Speaker 3: the alternate titles.
- 1:33:02Speaker 1: Yes, that'd be fun. That'd be fun. When whenever we
- 1:33:06Speaker 1: tour over in Europe, home Free does not over there.
- 1:33:11Speaker 1: They don't have that, idiot, right, And so we were somewhere,
- 1:33:16Speaker 1: we were in Germany and they're like, so does this
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: mean like without a home? Which is pretty good. That's
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: fair pretty much pretty much that it's not wrong. It's
- 1:33:29Speaker 1: not what we meant, but it's not wrong. Oh, and
- 1:33:34Speaker 1: this is just kind of fun.
- 1:33:34Speaker 3: Billy Crystal said in the making of documentary, when they
- 1:33:38Speaker 3: first came up with the story and came up with
- 1:33:39Speaker 3: the character of Curly, he immediately wrote down Jack Pounce's
- 1:33:42Speaker 3: name as the ideal for choice for the role. Oh,
- 1:33:47Speaker 3: this is the Charles Bronson bit.
- 1:33:48Speaker 1: That he said.
- 1:33:49Speaker 3: When it appears, there appeared there was a scheduling conflict.
- 1:33:52Speaker 3: The script was given to Charles Bronson. Bronson rejected it
- 1:33:56Speaker 3: because like you said, because Curly died, but then balance became.
- 1:34:00Speaker 1: Available and that's how it worked.
- 1:34:02Speaker 3: But he was like first choice.
- 1:34:04Speaker 4: This isn't funny. I'm like, it's not like he got
- 1:34:06Speaker 4: killed in like a fight. Yeah, right causes and it's
- 1:34:10Speaker 4: a big it's a very big plot.
- 1:34:11Speaker 1: Point you know the the movie, like yeah, or a
- 1:34:16Speaker 1: screen time or something like yeah, yes.
- 1:34:18Speaker 4: I don't know. I feel like he was like a
- 1:34:20Speaker 4: like a Steven Seagal, like he was like, I don't die, yeah, Stevens,
- 1:34:23Speaker 4: Like I don't get punched, don't get even if I
- 1:34:26Speaker 4: fight eight guys, I don't get punched.
- 1:34:28Speaker 3: Don't yeah punched?
- 1:34:30Speaker 1: Gino Folino, where's Richie? That was all the triba I had.
- 1:34:38Speaker 1: I don't know if you had any rep Yeah.
- 1:34:40Speaker 4: I saw.
- 1:34:42Speaker 1: Billy Crystal's character turned thirty nine in the film. In reality,
- 1:34:45Speaker 1: Crystal was forty three. That sounds right, is what Benny
- 1:34:48Speaker 1: and I just turned. And I remember distinctly being younger
- 1:34:54Speaker 1: watching this and thinking they were so old, so old,
- 1:34:57Speaker 1: which really made me feel Yeah, quite a pretty We'll say.
- 1:35:00Speaker 4: I remember why I watched this a couple of years
- 1:35:03Speaker 4: ago and I was like, he's thirty nine, That's what
- 1:35:07Speaker 4: he's whining about right now. I was like, yeah, so
- 1:35:10Speaker 4: you're thirty nine and have a house and a family.
- 1:35:13Speaker 4: Must be a wife and a couple of cades.
- 1:35:16Speaker 1: Yep, enough money, Billy Crystal, ploma, pen ploma, right, No,
- 1:35:21Speaker 1: they're doing fine. They're doing just fine. Billy Crystal. He
- 1:35:26Speaker 1: pretty much co wrote the story, it says, but it's
- 1:35:28Speaker 1: not given on screen credit.
- 1:35:30Speaker 3: Crazy So wow.
- 1:35:35Speaker 1: Rick moranis was cast alongside Billy Crystal.
- 1:35:38Speaker 4: He is my favorite one. That's just crazy.
- 1:35:40Speaker 1: So my guess is that he was going to be
- 1:35:42Speaker 1: the Daniel Stern Park Yeah, you know.
- 1:35:45Speaker 4: And what I heard was that he this was right
- 1:35:48Speaker 4: when his wife got Yeah, yep, yes, he had to
- 1:35:52Speaker 4: leave the project because of that.
- 1:35:53Speaker 3: He's making his glorious comeback this this very year.
- 1:35:58Speaker 1: So that's fine.
- 1:35:59Speaker 4: She couldn't be a better comeback.
- 1:36:00Speaker 1: It's pretty cool.
- 1:36:02Speaker 4: But I love thinking about, like, I think that's this year, right,
- 1:36:06Speaker 4: what the movie would be like with Rick Morana.
- 1:36:08Speaker 5: Yeah, it'll be interesting. Yeah, Space Millstu. I think it
- 1:36:12Speaker 5: comes out early twenty seven.
- 1:36:14Speaker 1: I think it was it next year Okay, then sorry, yeah.
- 1:36:17Speaker 4: It's already it's already shot.
- 1:36:18Speaker 1: Though, I know, nice, nice, I can't wait. And then
- 1:36:21Speaker 1: I saw that. Also, Clint Eastwood was considered for Curly
- 1:36:25Speaker 1: but wanted way more money than the budget could afford.
- 1:36:28Speaker 1: That sounds right, I bet you.
- 1:36:30Speaker 4: You wanted ten.
- 1:36:32Speaker 1: Yeah, he almost was.
- 1:36:34Speaker 4: I mean yeah, I mean that would have been awesome.
- 1:36:36Speaker 4: He'd have been great. He almost wasn't even old enough
- 1:36:39Speaker 4: yet I feel like, yeah, yeah, well I just I
- 1:36:43Speaker 4: just think it because you know, this is or even
- 1:36:45Speaker 4: like in the line of fire line Fires still like
- 1:36:47Speaker 4: he's he's older, yeah, but he's alongside he's kind of
- 1:36:52Speaker 4: your ile in that still. Renee Russo sort of believably. Yeah,
- 1:36:57Speaker 4: like Jack Talon, Saint Bang and Renee Russom. I've never
- 1:37:09Speaker 4: seen anyone singing six different keys.
- 1:37:11Speaker 1: That was impressive.
- 1:37:13Speaker 4: It was a lot. Also, great cigarette work by uh
- 1:37:18Speaker 4: Jack Palance movie. Yes, just sits in the side, It
- 1:37:22Speaker 4: just lives there. Yeah, I was seeing the other day.
- 1:37:24Speaker 4: It reminds me of a Time to Kill with McConaughey,
- 1:37:27Speaker 4: where he's got like an inch of a cigar in
- 1:37:30Speaker 4: the corner of his mouth the entire movie.
- 1:37:34Speaker 1: That's pretty great.
- 1:37:35Speaker 4: Yeah, there have so many dope shots of talents just
- 1:37:38Speaker 4: perched on the horse with like smoke coming out. Yeah, dude,
- 1:37:41Speaker 4: he's bad ass. Yeah, Clint would have been cool.
- 1:37:45Speaker 1: Clint would have been but I think you agree. I
- 1:37:47Speaker 1: think I agree with you. He was probably too young.
- 1:37:49Speaker 1: That's yeah.
- 1:37:51Speaker 4: Did you have get?
- 1:37:52Speaker 1: Did you guys have any more trivia? It seemed like
- 1:37:54Speaker 1: you guys are rocking some guys. That was okay, right on, Well,
- 1:38:01Speaker 1: judgment day. Will it be a sequel?
- 1:38:02Speaker 4: We know that?
- 1:38:03Speaker 1: Great, Maybe it's time for another.
- 1:38:10Speaker 4: On the excursion. Yeah, it's Broke Back Mountain his oh my,
- 1:38:18Speaker 4: oh my. You could do something with Jill Hall and
- 1:38:22Speaker 4: Billy Crystal going like a father son thing.
- 1:38:25Speaker 3: Hell yeah, sort of maybe built well that may be
- 1:38:30Speaker 3: too somber, but like Crystals sick or something or get
- 1:38:34Speaker 3: just getting.
- 1:38:34Speaker 4: Older, that'd be great. Yeah, maybe he maybe he dies
- 1:38:37Speaker 4: on the trail. We saw Billy the other night because
- 1:38:40Speaker 4: we built a thing for the Tony's and hell yeah cool.
- 1:38:44Speaker 4: We were gate had a box truck blocks and a
- 1:38:46Speaker 4: bunch of fans from Billy As We should have told
- 1:38:49Speaker 4: a story at the front, but long story short.
- 1:38:52Speaker 5: Yeah, we're like they were trying to get into thirty
- 1:38:55Speaker 5: Rock to do this Tony's after party, and they're like
- 1:38:59Speaker 5: Benny gets the cops to like usher me in and
- 1:39:01Speaker 5: this box chucks to get through this barricade, and we're
- 1:39:04Speaker 5: like trying to get into the loading dock where we're
- 1:39:06Speaker 5: like they're stopping us.
- 1:39:07Speaker 4: And then all of a sudden, we're like, we're like
- 1:39:09Speaker 4: on the side of Radio City. So all the actors
- 1:39:13Speaker 4: after they get off the red carpet are walking down
- 1:39:16Speaker 4: to enter the theater and on the other side of
- 1:39:18Speaker 4: the streets all the fans like yelling, and I think
- 1:39:21Speaker 4: the first celebrity saw it was Sarah Pulsit right and
- 1:39:24Speaker 4: like you and I like made an eye contacted. We're like,
- 1:39:27Speaker 4: but I'm almost like, why are we here? We shouldn't
- 1:39:30Speaker 4: be right here, we shouldn't be here.
- 1:39:32Speaker 5: And then and then the second celebrity was Billy Crystal.
- 1:39:36Speaker 5: I'm like and then eventually they couldn't get us into
- 1:39:40Speaker 5: the loading dock for no reason at all, and so
- 1:39:43Speaker 5: they kicked us out and maybe go around and Benny
- 1:39:45Speaker 5: had to get the whole cops like that again. But
- 1:39:48Speaker 5: then it was if you're listening, thirty rock staff and
- 1:39:52Speaker 5: they do get together because my god, yeah, with gals
- 1:39:56Speaker 5: walking by nice so I knew it was tall, but bro,
- 1:40:00Speaker 5: he is like an NBA player, really, he's like he's
- 1:40:03Speaker 5: a six dude, he's huge.
- 1:40:04Speaker 4: Oh wow. Yeah.
- 1:40:06Speaker 5: We were literally just in the middle of blocking the
- 1:40:09Speaker 5: fans from seeing they're just piste.
- 1:40:11Speaker 1: They're like what the heck?
- 1:40:13Speaker 4: And I'm like, people are like yelling us, like we
- 1:40:16Speaker 4: I don't want to be here either. I don't get
- 1:40:18Speaker 4: I agree. Is Billy Crystal really tall too? He is not.
- 1:40:24Speaker 1: He's got to be old now right?
- 1:40:28Speaker 4: How old is guy? Great? Hairy?
- 1:40:30Speaker 1: He's he was forty three, thirty?
- 1:40:32Speaker 4: He looks he looks lovely. There you go and looks
- 1:40:35Speaker 4: very Hello. Hey, can you just can you just say hey,
- 1:40:42Speaker 4: it's Billy Crystal and you're listening to the evidentendorsement I
- 1:40:50Speaker 4: will kill you just saying once Billy one time. It's
- 1:41:00Speaker 4: good it Just give us one clean.
- 1:41:05Speaker 1: Can you do a second take of that? I didn't
- 1:41:07Speaker 1: leave it, could you?
- 1:41:11Speaker 4: I love it?
- 1:41:13Speaker 1: Sweet? You guys want to play a game? Yeah, hell yeah,
- 1:41:18Speaker 1: we're playing a different game. Don't remember, we're playing a
- 1:41:21Speaker 1: different game. Benny has been rocking out the starting five.
- 1:41:26Speaker 1: So we're gonna do the quotes game. We used to
- 1:41:31Speaker 1: call it Malkovich Malkovich Malkovich. We now call it the
- 1:41:33Speaker 1: quotes game. I'm going to give you a quote from
- 1:41:37Speaker 1: a film. Once you know the film, you're going to
- 1:41:40Speaker 1: ring in with your name, and I want three pieces
- 1:41:42Speaker 1: of information from you. You can get up to three points.
- 1:41:47Speaker 4: I need the name of the film.
- 1:41:48Speaker 1: I need the character who said the quote, and the
- 1:41:52Speaker 1: actor who played the character.
- 1:41:54Speaker 4: Wow.
- 1:41:55Speaker 1: If you get any of those wrong, someone else can
- 1:41:58Speaker 1: ring in and steal. Yeah, there are no negative points
- 1:42:01Speaker 1: for wrong answers. All these films have something in common
- 1:42:04Speaker 1: and probably have something in common with the movie we
- 1:42:07Speaker 1: just talked about. When you know the theme, you can
- 1:42:12Speaker 1: ring in at anytime for a point.
- 1:42:15Speaker 4: You said, this is gonna be easier.
- 1:42:17Speaker 1: It's gonna be different, different, It's different. Five.
- 1:42:24Speaker 4: So are you guys ready? Absolutely? All right?
