- 0:03Speaker 1: Good morning, Good morning family, God bless you. Welcome back
- 0:05Speaker 1: to the Morning DeVos your bro Sam Lopez aka DJ
- 0:09Speaker 1: Sam Rock, and you're watching or listening to the Morning
- 0:12Speaker 1: Devo Mondays through Fridays about thirty a m. Easter Standard time.
- 0:17Speaker 1: But on Fridays we try to switch gears right, and
- 0:20Speaker 1: we call it authentic imitationlogy. This is actually episode one
- 0:24Speaker 1: hundred and four, right before the New Year, from the
- 0:29Speaker 1: time of this recording, or it is the last one
- 0:31Speaker 1: before the New year. So Happy New Year. That's the
- 0:35Speaker 1: name of today's message or today's devotion unto the Lord. Amen.
- 0:40Speaker 1: As we get together, we do this thing right, Authentic Imitationology,
- 0:44Speaker 1: Episode one O four. I wrote this the Biblical New
- 0:47Speaker 1: Year because I know people want to know what's a
- 0:50Speaker 1: biblical calendar? What's the Biblical New Year? Because I know
- 0:53Speaker 1: we use a different calendar, right, We use a Gregorian calendar.
- 0:57Speaker 1: And God wasn't using a greg Glorian calendar for his people, amen,
- 1:02Speaker 1: He was using a Lunar calendar for his people. But
- 1:06Speaker 1: in anyhow, Amen, we have the facts in the Bible
- 1:12Speaker 1: of Biblical new year things along those lines, Amen, So
- 1:16Speaker 1: we don't have to make nothing up. When it comes
- 1:19Speaker 1: onto the biblical calendar. So the Biblical new year is
- 1:22Speaker 1: associated with the Hebrew calendar, which differs from today's Gregorian calendar. Okay,
- 1:30Speaker 1: very simple, Amen. So we're gonna get a little historical
- 1:34Speaker 1: through the scriptures today on the morning Devo. Just in
- 1:37Speaker 1: case you wondered, Amen, when we say happy New Year
- 1:40Speaker 1: here in America, Amen, is a difference when the Bibles
- 1:44Speaker 1: calls it a new year or a festival or celebration. Amen.
- 1:48Speaker 1: So that's the case you wondered. We were not on
- 1:52Speaker 1: the same calendar of God's people. We are God's children
- 1:56Speaker 1: through Christ Jesus when we're saving and born again. Amen.
- 2:00Speaker 1: So it's o kay for Christians as Christ followers to
- 2:05Speaker 1: understand or even celebrate if you want, the festivals that
- 2:10Speaker 1: we're mentioned in the scriptures. But we're not mandated too. Amen.
- 2:15Speaker 1: And I know a lot of my brothers and sisters,
- 2:18Speaker 1: some brothers, sisters Christs don't agree with that. But they
- 2:21Speaker 1: have yet to show me scriptures where we're mandated to
- 2:24Speaker 1: celebrate the festivals. We're going to be an Exodus chapter
- 2:27Speaker 1: number twelve, verses one to fourteen and Leviticus chapter twenty three,
- 2:31Speaker 1: verses twenty three to thirty two. We're calling this one
- 2:35Speaker 1: happy new year, Amen, according to the Biblical calendar. So
- 2:40Speaker 1: if you have any questions, comments, concerns, or any prayid requests,
- 2:43Speaker 1: please don't hesitate to leave it on a live chat.
- 2:45Speaker 1: That's what we're here for. That's how we communicate. Amen.
- 2:48Speaker 1: If you're over atlive that soone is with a Zeta Org,
- 2:51Speaker 1: Welcome back. I see a lot of you going over there.
- 2:55Speaker 1: And that's a place where if you really want to
- 2:57Speaker 1: hone down and really want to conset you freight or focus,
- 3:01Speaker 1: go to live that so one is with a zea Org.
- 3:03Speaker 1: There's a live chat there. It's also an interactive Bible
- 3:07Speaker 1: right there online for you for your convenience, so you
- 3:10Speaker 1: can follow as we read the scriptures together. Amen. And
- 3:13Speaker 1: a lot of people are going there because I see
- 3:15Speaker 1: the number, So welcome back if you're listening audio only
- 3:19Speaker 1: on so when is with a Zita Org the Celar
- 3:21Speaker 1: Radio Network with the Liha Valley's number one urban gospel
- 3:25Speaker 1: music station online since two thousand and eight, and low
- 3:28Speaker 1: willing we could continue moving forward in the next year
- 3:31Speaker 1: and the years to come. All glory to God. Because
- 3:34Speaker 1: of his grace, I'm able to witness what he's doing
- 3:38Speaker 1: through that ministry of Celeritia network. So whe is eight.
- 3:41Speaker 1: So without any further Ado, let's pray first. After we
- 3:45Speaker 1: pray with shit us out for like sixty seconds, help
- 3:47Speaker 1: help her brother share us out. When we come back,
- 3:49Speaker 1: we'll get right into a happy new year. We're gonna
- 3:51Speaker 1: hit two scriptures. It's a lot of reading, Amen, but
- 3:55Speaker 1: I think it will be worth a while just to
- 3:58Speaker 1: peak your interests or satisfy the questions that you might
- 4:02Speaker 1: have had about when we say Happy New Year at
- 4:04Speaker 1: twelve o'clock December thirty first, then it turns into January first,
- 4:09Speaker 1: does that really mean that it's a new year for
- 4:12Speaker 1: God's people or for in God's calendar or God's lunar schedule. Amen.
- 4:19Speaker 1: Just in case you ever wonder, we're going to talk
- 4:20Speaker 1: about it today. So, Father God, I thank you, Lo God,
- 4:23Speaker 1: that we are able to even talk about a new
- 4:26Speaker 1: year according to your grace and your mercy. Thank you,
- 4:29Speaker 1: Lo God for empowering us by way of your holy Spirit,
- 4:32Speaker 1: to speak your word, to read your word, to understand
- 4:34Speaker 1: your word, to receive your word and the revelation that
- 4:37Speaker 1: you have for us today. I pray I had your
- 4:40Speaker 1: protection over my family, myself, my wife, our children, our bloodlines,
- 4:44Speaker 1: both sides of the family, both sides of the marriage family,
- 4:47Speaker 1: from the very youngest to the very oldest, and every
- 4:50Speaker 1: single family member in between. I pray health to the body,
- 4:53Speaker 1: strength to the bone, to the bones, Logud, that you
- 4:55Speaker 1: will continue to just glorify yourself in every single individual
- 5:00Speaker 1: that caused upon your name to be saved, to be rescued,
- 5:03Speaker 1: to be healed, to be whole, Amen, to be saved.
- 5:06Speaker 1: Thank you so much, Lord God for what you're doing,
- 5:08Speaker 1: Holy Spirit. I asked that you will continue to engage us,
- 5:12Speaker 1: continue to really give us this revelation of who you
- 5:15Speaker 1: are more and more every time we devote our time
- 5:18Speaker 1: to you. I pray that over every single person on
- 5:20Speaker 1: the other side of the screen and on the other
- 5:22Speaker 1: side of this mic, that you would Lord God, speak
- 5:25Speaker 1: your word to their hearts, into their minds, and this
- 5:28Speaker 1: will be a time of transformation, and that we would
- 5:31Speaker 1: know that you are alive and that you are the
- 5:33Speaker 1: only real, true, holy, loving, righteous God that's speaking to
- 5:38Speaker 1: us today. And Jesus Holy Name, I pray it's by
- 5:40Speaker 1: faith and all those who agree we say amen to
- 5:43Speaker 1: the Amen. So help me share this out sixty seconds.
- 5:45Speaker 1: When we come back, we'll get right into authentic. Inmentationology
- 5:49Speaker 1: episode number one oh four, I'm calling this one Happy
- 5:51Speaker 1: New Year. I'll be right back. All right, let's go
- 7:08Speaker 1: for it. Amen. So it's quiet on the life chat.
- 7:12Speaker 1: But Amen, we're here and I don't know why I'm whispering,
- 7:14Speaker 1: and I have like you know when you have the
- 7:17Speaker 1: buzzing in your ear. I got that right now. I
- 7:19Speaker 1: don't know what's going on. But Amen, might be too early,
- 7:22Speaker 1: right now, staying or even worry about it. Right, don't
- 7:24Speaker 1: worry about anything about it, says Right. God's word says,
- 7:26Speaker 1: don't worry about anything, and make your request known unto
- 7:29Speaker 1: the Lord and the God who hears responds. Amen. If
- 7:33Speaker 1: you are serving a God that does not respond, Amen,
- 7:36Speaker 1: you want to you should question that deity of that
- 7:39Speaker 1: God that you're serving. Amen. Over here, we serve a
- 7:42Speaker 1: God who responds according to his word, his purpose, his plan, Amen,
- 7:46Speaker 1: his people, his kingdom. Right. We have the fire of
- 7:50Speaker 1: God living inside of us by way of holy spirits,
- 7:52Speaker 1: so we know that he responds to us. Amen, as
- 7:55Speaker 1: children of the Holy, Living and Loving God. Right, So
- 8:00Speaker 1: go for it today before the clock strikes midnight on
- 8:04Speaker 1: December thirty. First, I just want to tell you happy
- 8:06Speaker 1: New Year. And for those who celebrate or celebrated Christmas, Amen,
- 8:11Speaker 1: Merry Christmas belated right, And like I said, don't let
- 8:16Speaker 1: anyone judge you for your celebrations. Amen. If you want
- 8:19Speaker 1: to celebrate the birth of the Lord Jesus, you want
- 8:21Speaker 1: to celebrate the resurrected Jesus, you want to celebrate the
- 8:25Speaker 1: new year according to the biblical calendar, you can. You
- 8:27Speaker 1: want to celebrate festivals, you can. Only thing I suggest
- 8:30Speaker 1: you don't do is go back to the old Covenant
- 8:32Speaker 1: rituals and sacrifice sacrificial system. Don't go back to that.
- 8:36Speaker 1: And also, don't put yourself under a law that we're
- 8:39Speaker 1: free from. We're not bound by the law any longer. Amen.
- 8:43Speaker 1: We have the law of Jesus. Amen. He took two right.
- 8:46Speaker 1: Love God with your everything you have, body, soul, everything,
- 8:51Speaker 1: your mind. And love your neighbors as you love yourself.
- 8:54Speaker 1: Jesus said, Our Lord said those two. On those two,
- 8:57Speaker 1: hinge all the prophets in all the laws. Amen. So
- 9:01Speaker 1: live that way, and God will live out his perfect
- 9:05Speaker 1: will through your life and through my life. And that's
- 9:08Speaker 1: the only way we could satisfy the six hundred and
- 9:10Speaker 1: thirty thirteen, six hundred and thirteen commandments. Amen, I know
- 9:14Speaker 1: you know the ten and even those ten, we can't
- 9:17Speaker 1: satisfy those. Amen. The Lord does through us, though, as
- 9:21Speaker 1: long as we're following him and his commandment, and he says,
- 9:23Speaker 1: if you love him, you'll follow his commandments. And Jesus
- 9:27Speaker 1: has his commandments. He's the fulfillment of the law. He's
- 9:32Speaker 1: the fulfillment of the law. So let's follow the fulfillment
- 9:35Speaker 1: and I go back to all old sacrificial systems or
- 9:39Speaker 1: anything like that, even though we're going to be in
- 9:40Speaker 1: an old covenant right today, right, But I just want
- 9:43Speaker 1: you to know that you're free. Who the Sun says
- 9:45Speaker 1: free is what is free indeed, So let's get into
- 9:48Speaker 1: it on the morning devo today. So authentic commentationology. And
- 9:52Speaker 1: I press the wrong but where are we bad? Through
- 10:00Speaker 1: my button? So here it goes authentic immitationology. Amen, I
- 10:04Speaker 1: gave you the last slide for the last part of
- 10:06Speaker 1: the one indivo this first one. Let's see did I
- 10:13Speaker 1: want that one first? Back? Like? Did I put it on? Oh? No?
- 10:22Speaker 1: There goes Exodus chapter twelve right verses one through fourteen.
- 10:28Speaker 1: So let me go back what I did. I think
- 10:35Speaker 1: I messed up. Yeah, so I didn't put the first
- 10:41Speaker 1: half of Exodus. So I'm gonna do is. Let's just
- 10:46Speaker 1: read Exodus chapter twelve versus eleven of fourteen. These are
- 10:52Speaker 1: your instructions for eating this meal. Be fully dressed, wear
- 10:55Speaker 1: your sandals, and carry your walking stick in your hand.
- 10:58Speaker 1: Eat the meal with urgent sea, for this is the
- 11:01Speaker 1: Lord's passover. On that night, I will pass through the
- 11:05Speaker 1: land of Egypt and strike down every firstborn son and
- 11:09Speaker 1: first born male animal in the land of Egypt. I
- 11:12Speaker 1: will execute judgment against all the gods of Egypt, for
- 11:17Speaker 1: I am the Lord verse thirteen. But the blood on
- 11:20Speaker 1: your door polls will serve as a sign marking the
- 11:24Speaker 1: houses where you are staying. When I see the blood,
- 11:28Speaker 1: I will pass over you. This plague of death will
- 11:31Speaker 1: not touch you. When I strike the land of Egypt.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Who's striking the land? Who's killing here? It looks like
- 11:38Speaker 1: it's the Lord because the Lord's passover, But he's telling
- 11:41Speaker 1: his people listen, I'm doing that because I'm striking against
- 11:45Speaker 1: and I'm putting judgment against all the gods of Egypt.
- 11:49Speaker 1: So if you're serving a god that's not the god
- 11:53Speaker 1: of scripture, that's not the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
- 11:56Speaker 1: You're serving an idle god. And God will strike down
- 12:00Speaker 1: those gods, execute judgment against all the gods of Egypt.
- 12:05Speaker 1: For I am the Lord. But the blood on your
- 12:08Speaker 1: door posts will serve as a sign marking the houses
- 12:11Speaker 1: where you are staying. When I see the blood, I
- 12:14Speaker 1: will pass over you. This plague of death will not
- 12:17Speaker 1: touch you when I strike the land of Egypt. Verse fourteen.
- 12:21Speaker 1: This is the day to remember. Each year, from generation
- 12:25Speaker 1: to generation, you must celebrate it as a special festival
- 12:29Speaker 1: to the Lord. This is a law for all time.
- 12:34Speaker 1: And listen speaking to the children of Israel. So this
- 12:37Speaker 1: is a law for all time, according to the Scripture,
- 12:41Speaker 1: for the children of Israel. So what happens does a
- 12:44Speaker 1: law stop? Know, the law continues, But Jesus fulfill this
- 12:48Speaker 1: law as well. Ay Man. That's the point I'm always
- 12:51Speaker 1: trying to make when it comes to the law of
- 12:53Speaker 1: the Lord. Amen, God's law. So they celebrated the new year,
- 12:58Speaker 1: and they were told that there's going to be a
- 13:02Speaker 1: celebration of this special festival called Passover to the Lord
- 13:08Speaker 1: and This is the love for all the time. This
- 13:11Speaker 1: is the day to remember each year, Amen, as God
- 13:15Speaker 1: want us to bring wants to bring remembrance to these
- 13:19Speaker 1: type of days. Amen. So it's different than the time
- 13:23Speaker 1: that we're going to celebrate the new year. Right, And
- 13:27Speaker 1: let me see if I could get to the next scripture.
- 13:29Speaker 1: It's very different. So I mean, we're not putting blood
- 13:33Speaker 1: across our doorposts anymore. I mean, I guess if you
- 13:36Speaker 1: want it, you can, but we don't have to. Amen.
- 13:40Speaker 1: It was done. It was called upon by the Lord
- 13:43Speaker 1: to execute judgment on the gods of Egypt, in other words, idols,
- 13:48Speaker 1: and he did it. But he told his people, the
- 13:51Speaker 1: children of Israel, listen, when I see the door blood
- 13:56Speaker 1: over the door posts of your home, of your house,
- 14:00Speaker 1: a man I'll pass by the Angel of death that
- 14:03Speaker 1: God sent will pass by your house, and no harm
- 14:06Speaker 1: and no death will come into your household. Take it
- 14:10Speaker 1: as you want, Amen. It's the time for them, as
- 14:13Speaker 1: the children Israel, to celebrate this forever. Amen, because it
- 14:17Speaker 1: was done for the children of Israel. That hopeing makes sense, right, Ridicants,
- 14:22Speaker 1: Chapter twenty three, verses twenty three to thirty two. He
- 14:28Speaker 1: said the Lord said to Moses. He Lord said to Moses,
- 14:33Speaker 1: give the following instructions to the people of Israel. You
- 14:37Speaker 1: see very specific of who God is sending these instructions to,
- 14:41Speaker 1: very very clear in the scriptures of when God speaks it.
- 14:45Speaker 1: Why is it that when God speaks to specific people,
- 14:48Speaker 1: we try, as New Covenant Christians to say that he
- 14:51Speaker 1: was speaking to us. Can God speak to the people
- 14:55Speaker 1: he wanted to speak to? According to the scripture, is that, okay,
- 14:58Speaker 1: give the following instructions to the people of Israel. On
- 15:02Speaker 1: the first day of the appointed month in early autumn,
- 15:07Speaker 1: you are to observe a day of complete rest. Sounds
- 15:10Speaker 1: like the Sabbath. Right, a complete rest. It will be
- 15:14Speaker 1: an official day for Holy Assembly, a day commemorated with
- 15:19Speaker 1: loud blasts of the trumpet. Sounds like a celebration. You
- 15:24Speaker 1: must do no ordinary work on that day. Instead, you
- 15:29Speaker 1: are to present special gifts to the Lord. Verse twenty six.
- 15:33Speaker 1: Then the Lord said to Moses, be careful to celebrate
- 15:38Speaker 1: the day of Atonement on the tenth day of that
- 15:42Speaker 1: same month, nine days after the festival of trumpets. Very specific,
- 15:47Speaker 1: very timely. God is God of order. When God says
- 15:51Speaker 1: the thing he means a thing. He does the thing
- 15:53Speaker 1: a man for perfect, for his perfect will, and for
- 15:56Speaker 1: his perfect plan to come to pass. So He's given
- 15:59Speaker 1: these instructions to Moses. Be careful to celebrate the Day
- 16:03Speaker 1: of Atonement on the tenth day of that same month,
- 16:06Speaker 1: nine days after the Festival of Trumpets. You must observe
- 16:10Speaker 1: it as an official day for holy assembly, a day
- 16:13Speaker 1: to deny yourselves and present special gifts to the Lord.
- 16:18Speaker 1: Verse twenty eight. Do not work during that entire day,
- 16:21Speaker 1: because it is the day of Atonement, when offerings of
- 16:26Speaker 1: purification are made for you, making you write with the Lord,
- 16:31Speaker 1: your God. We're not out of the system anymore, ladies
- 16:34Speaker 1: and gentlemen, but I'm reading the system that the Israelites
- 16:38Speaker 1: will under during the time of this writing. Okay, Verse
- 16:42Speaker 1: twenty nine. All who do not deny themselves that day
- 16:45Speaker 1: will be cut off from God's people, and I will
- 16:49Speaker 1: destroy anyone among you who does any work on that day.
- 16:53Speaker 1: Very strict rule. Right, you must not do any work
- 16:58Speaker 1: at all. This is a permanent law for who for
- 17:03Speaker 1: you and who is he speaking to the children and
- 17:06Speaker 1: the people of Israel, And it must be observed from
- 17:10Speaker 1: generation to generation wherever you live. This will be a
- 17:14Speaker 1: Sabbath day of complete rest for you, and on that
- 17:18Speaker 1: day you must deny yourselves. This day of rest will
- 17:23Speaker 1: begin at sundown on the ninth day of the month
- 17:27Speaker 1: and extended to sundown on the tenth day. This was
- 17:31Speaker 1: another yearly, this was another celebration according to the scripture
- 17:36Speaker 1: of how God wanted us and his people, excuse me,
- 17:39Speaker 1: his people Israel at the time that this was written
- 17:42Speaker 1: to celebrate this day. Amen. And you could call it
- 17:47Speaker 1: a new year. Amen. According to the scriptures, you could
- 17:50Speaker 1: call it a biblical new year as a matter of fact.
- 17:53Speaker 1: So we have the writings, We have the scriptures, Amen,
- 17:56Speaker 1: we have the teachings, Amen, and we have it here.
- 17:59Speaker 1: So I can't that God wants his people to rest
- 18:03Speaker 1: and wants his people to celebrate a man. As a
- 18:06Speaker 1: matter of fact, he wants people during the time that
- 18:10Speaker 1: he wrote it, to give him offerings and gifts, a
- 18:14Speaker 1: son to the Lord, so very different than how we celebrate, right,
- 18:19Speaker 1: very different. I want you to see that. I wanted
- 18:22Speaker 1: to read all that for you could see that how
- 18:24Speaker 1: when we say happininess, it really it falls short of
- 18:29Speaker 1: our the biblical calendar. A man very different, a man
- 18:33Speaker 1: is okay, but it's very different. So let me show
- 18:36Speaker 1: you the religious new year, according to suscriptures called Nissan Aviv.
- 18:44Speaker 1: The month of Nissan, which usually falls in March or April,
- 18:48Speaker 1: is considered the beginning of the religious calendar. This is
- 18:53Speaker 1: based on God's instructions to Moses and Aaron in Exodus
- 18:57Speaker 1: chapter twelve, where we just read. If you go to
- 19:00Speaker 1: twelve verse tu, you'll see the specific rate there where
- 19:03Speaker 1: he declares that Nissan will be the first month of
- 19:07Speaker 1: the year for the Israelites. This month is significant because
- 19:13Speaker 1: it includes Passover, which commemorates the Israelites exodus, their escape
- 19:20Speaker 1: or they're set free from or their exiting from Egypt,
- 19:26Speaker 1: and their liberation from slavery. Right, so God appointed that
- 19:31Speaker 1: time of the month, which was March or April, the
- 19:36Speaker 1: month of Nissan Aviv. Amen. And if you ask any
- 19:39Speaker 1: Jewish scholar, if you ask any Jewish person or any
- 19:42Speaker 1: Hebrew person, and they would tell you that they still
- 19:45Speaker 1: have this in full effect in their lives. Amen. They
- 19:48Speaker 1: know history better than the Gentiles. The next one is
- 19:53Speaker 1: the civil New year, so we have the religious new
- 19:55Speaker 1: year that we have the civil new year. Touch rate
- 19:59Speaker 1: and I hope I'm saying these words right. The month
- 20:01Speaker 1: of test Ray, which is usually falls in September or October,
- 20:08Speaker 1: marks the beginning of the civil year in the Jewish
- 20:11Speaker 1: calendar or the Hebrew calendar. This is when Rashashana. And
- 20:16Speaker 1: I know you've heard that before. If you haven't heard that,
- 20:19Speaker 1: you could look at the calendar. Is probably on our
- 20:21Speaker 1: calendar too. Rashashana the Jewish New year. See that the
- 20:25Speaker 1: Hebrew New year is celebrated. Rashashana is a time of reflection, repentance,
- 20:31Speaker 1: and renewal leading up to yan Kapor, which is the
- 20:35Speaker 1: day of Atonement. The reason why we could look at
- 20:39Speaker 1: these things as born again believers and look at them
- 20:41Speaker 1: is feel that that's interesting, but we don't have to celebrate.
- 20:44Speaker 1: It's because we have the full complete atonement through the
- 20:47Speaker 1: Lord Jesus Christ. He did more than a tone for
- 20:50Speaker 1: our sins right. He forgave us for our sins once
- 20:54Speaker 1: and for all. Remember in the old sacrificial system that
- 20:57Speaker 1: they were, you know, sacrificing an aimals, goats, lambs and
- 21:01Speaker 1: all that they were doing that to make things right
- 21:04Speaker 1: with God for that season. For that reason, a man
- 21:07Speaker 1: a lot of sacrificial things were going on for God.
- 21:10Speaker 1: But when Jesus showed up as the ultimate, true sacrifice,
- 21:15Speaker 1: the only sacrifice that was one hundred percent pure that
- 21:18Speaker 1: could satisfy the sind debt of all people once and
- 21:21Speaker 1: for all, when he died on that cross, Amen, he
- 21:24Speaker 1: satisfied the sind debt once for all. So we don't
- 21:28Speaker 1: have to continue going back and doing these sacrifices to
- 21:32Speaker 1: get right with God. We're not under that old covenant
- 21:35Speaker 1: system anymore. We're under the new Covenant. Amen. When Jesus
- 21:39Speaker 1: is the complete fulfillment of the law, he's the complete
- 21:43Speaker 1: fulfillment of the atonement. So when we look at these
- 21:47Speaker 1: successivals that our Hebrew brothers and sisters celebrate, Amen, it
- 21:51Speaker 1: should interest a Christian, a bud again believer. We don't
- 21:54Speaker 1: have to celebrate it. We could observe it. We can
- 21:57Speaker 1: if you want. The Bible says, don't let anybody you
- 22:00Speaker 1: for your celebrations, don't let anybody judge you by what
- 22:03Speaker 1: you eat right right, things like that. So we already
- 22:07Speaker 1: have that straight. But we know that these festivals and
- 22:09Speaker 1: these celebrations are still in effect for those and actually
- 22:13Speaker 1: for those who still are looking for the savior. Amen.
- 22:17Speaker 1: They deny Jesus as Savior, as the Messiah a man.
- 22:21Speaker 1: We have Hebrew brothers and sisters all around the world
- 22:23Speaker 1: who are still in this system and still trying to
- 22:27Speaker 1: follow the Law of Moses because they're looking and they're
- 22:30Speaker 1: waiting for the Messiah. So we pray for our brothers
- 22:32Speaker 1: and sisters like that that God will open their eyes
- 22:35Speaker 1: to the realization that the Messiah came, you know, was
- 22:39Speaker 1: here thirty three and a half years to send it
- 22:41Speaker 1: and promised to come back. So at that time he's going.
- 22:44Speaker 1: Before that, he's going to send evangelists to evangelize to
- 22:48Speaker 1: the Jewish people, to the Hebrew people once again a man,
- 22:51Speaker 1: and it's going to be a revival coding to the
- 22:53Speaker 1: scripture with the Jews and the Hebrews. Amen. Good morning, God,
- 22:58Speaker 1: bless your sister Joyce. Amen, God bless you. It's good
- 23:02Speaker 1: to see you on the morn in Devo. It's real
- 23:04Speaker 1: quiet today. I don't know what's going on a man
- 23:06Speaker 1: on the live chat, but it's all good. A man
- 23:09Speaker 1: where two or three are gathered there, he is in
- 23:11Speaker 1: our mist in the midst of our situation, in the
- 23:13Speaker 1: midst of our praise, and the midst of our worship,
- 23:15Speaker 1: in the midst of our Bible reading, in the midst
- 23:17Speaker 1: of our devotion, He's with us, Amen, and that's really
- 23:20Speaker 1: important that God is with us. So we see Aviv,
- 23:24Speaker 1: which in Nissan tishry the civil new year. Aviv is
- 23:28Speaker 1: a religious new year. So we have new years found
- 23:32Speaker 1: in the scriptures according to the Old Covenant and the
- 23:35Speaker 1: system that they were under, right and the system that
- 23:38Speaker 1: some Hebrews are still under if they're not born again right,
- 23:42Speaker 1: So we observe it. We look at it. It's biblical,
- 23:44Speaker 1: here's historical, it's factual, Amen, that happened, and people are
- 23:48Speaker 1: still celebrating these festivals. So it's okay as a born
- 23:52Speaker 1: again believer to be interested about it and to celebrate
- 23:55Speaker 1: as well because we have part of this history by
- 23:58Speaker 1: the bloodline Amen of the Lord Jesus. Both of these
- 24:02Speaker 1: periods are significant spiritual meanings in the Jewish tradition Hebrew tradition,
- 24:08Speaker 1: with Nissan focusing on redemption and deliverance, right. Those are
- 24:12Speaker 1: words we use a lot as believers. Right, redemption and
- 24:16Speaker 1: deliverance and tistary emphasizing renewal, introspection, renewal. While these are
- 24:24Speaker 1: not directly observed by us as Christians. They provide historical
- 24:30Speaker 1: and cultural contexts for understanding the biblical calendar and the
- 24:36Speaker 1: timing of various biblical events. So it helps us to
- 24:40Speaker 1: see the historical facts and to see the biblical calendar.
- 24:44Speaker 1: That helps us put everything into perspective, well, why was
- 24:48Speaker 1: this going on or why was that going on? As
- 24:50Speaker 1: a matter of fact, it really puts more detail to
- 24:53Speaker 1: the times and places and the people that that why
- 24:56Speaker 1: they were celebrating. And you could date this right back
- 24:59Speaker 1: to the he calendar and say, okay, now this makes
- 25:03Speaker 1: more sense. Why was Jesus celebrating these festivals. Why was
- 25:07Speaker 1: Jesus celebrating the Passover? Amen? Because the New Testament had
- 25:11Speaker 1: not been posted yet, had not become out yet. Amen.
- 25:15Speaker 1: But Jesus is the living New Covenant. He was telling
- 25:18Speaker 1: the people of Israel what was to happen, what was
- 25:21Speaker 1: to come, and that he was the fulfillment of everything
- 25:25Speaker 1: the prophets had spoken about this Messiah, that he was
- 25:29Speaker 1: the Messiah. And unfortunately, the rabbis at the time, the
- 25:34Speaker 1: chief priests at the time, and didn't buy it. They
- 25:36Speaker 1: didn't go for it. They didn't believe them, and they
- 25:39Speaker 1: called them a blasphemer. They called them other things as well,
- 25:43Speaker 1: and because of that, and he was crucified because of
- 25:48Speaker 1: demand for them to crucify. But it was because the
- 25:51Speaker 1: prophecy that the Messiah would come and be crucified was
- 25:54Speaker 1: really the thing that really prompted or really inspired or
- 26:01Speaker 1: really sent Jesus to across. It was really a prophetic thing.
- 26:08Speaker 1: Jesus told the governor or a conscious pilot, that no
- 26:13Speaker 1: one will have power over him. Only the power that
- 26:16Speaker 1: was given from above was able to hold Jesus at bay,
- 26:21Speaker 1: to hold Jesus on the cross. He did it to
- 26:23Speaker 1: fulfill the scriptures. Amen. So granted the religious people of
- 26:28Speaker 1: his time, although they had all the festivals, they had
- 26:31Speaker 1: the sacrificial system. They celebrated New Year Rashashana, they celebrated
- 26:36Speaker 1: nissan A viv, they celebrated Tishre, the civil new year,
- 26:41Speaker 1: and all that that went on. They knew the historical
- 26:46Speaker 1: biblical narrative of Moses, the law, the prophets. They knew
- 26:49Speaker 1: that when Jesus showed up, he was speaking kingdom. Amen.
- 26:53Speaker 1: And we're still speaking Kingdom to this very day. So
- 26:56Speaker 1: when I look at my calendar on the wall in
- 26:58Speaker 1: my studio, I noticed a friends between that calendar and
- 27:01Speaker 1: the calendar that's in the Bible. Like I said, it's okay,
- 27:05Speaker 1: let's observe the biblical calendar. Amen. We're not mandated like
- 27:09Speaker 1: the Israelites were mandated. They were commanded to celebrate these days.
- 27:13Speaker 1: They were commanded to celebrate that Sabbath day that we
- 27:17Speaker 1: read about, and I believe in it was an Exodus
- 27:20Speaker 1: first sort a day of rest. Amen. And we have
- 27:24Speaker 1: a day of rest too. We call it the Lord's Day, right,
- 27:27Speaker 1: so we should be resting as well. The Lord God himself,
- 27:32Speaker 1: created God himself eloheim yahweh rested, Amen. And his rest
- 27:39Speaker 1: is definitely not like our rest. We can't understand a
- 27:42Speaker 1: God who rested. Amen. We understand when people rest. So
- 27:47Speaker 1: I'm trying to take all the pressure off of us.
- 27:49Speaker 1: I'm trying to get us back into celebration mode. We
- 27:52Speaker 1: have everything to celebrate about. We have so much to celebrate,
- 27:55Speaker 1: the fact that we're alive in Christ, the fact that
- 27:58Speaker 1: He is coming back for spotless, blameless church, the fact
- 28:02Speaker 1: that He rescues, he saves, he heals, he redeems, he restores,
- 28:05Speaker 1: he renews, he protects, he guides, he guards, he does
- 28:09Speaker 1: all of it, and he did it all once and
- 28:11Speaker 1: for all the cross. He's not going to get crucified again.
- 28:14Speaker 1: He's not going to be punished again. Amen. He's not
- 28:17Speaker 1: going to receive the sins of the whole world upon
- 28:18Speaker 1: himself ever again. This was a once for all deal
- 28:23Speaker 1: for all eternity. So let's celebrate when Happy New Year's comes,
- 28:27Speaker 1: when December twenty first comes and that clock strikes twelve,
- 28:30Speaker 1: unless honor God with our celebration. Now, man, let's celebrate
- 28:35Speaker 1: it holy. Let's celebrate it sober. Let's celebrate it high
- 28:38Speaker 1: on Christ, high on the Holy Spirit, drunken the Holy Spirit,
- 28:43Speaker 1: instead of with alcohol and he drugs and he weed.
- 28:46Speaker 1: None of that. We don't need none of that. No more.
- 28:47Speaker 1: Were on a supernatural high. So when we say Happy
- 28:50Speaker 1: New Year, we're gonna be happy. We're gonna be alive.
- 28:52Speaker 1: We're gonna be trusting God for more for the new year. Amen,
- 28:56Speaker 1: and for His word to come to pass in our
- 28:58Speaker 1: lives individually, incorporate, Amen, throughout the nations and throughout the world,
- 29:02Speaker 1: for all whosoever's who call upon the name of the
- 29:06Speaker 1: Lord to be saved. So I hope you get what
- 29:08Speaker 1: I'm saying. I know there was a lot of reading there.
- 29:10Speaker 1: I just wanted to give you some biblical history. Amen
- 29:13Speaker 1: on those two days, Nissan, which is a viv and
- 29:17Speaker 1: touched raw the civil new year. Nissan a viv was
- 29:20Speaker 1: the religious new year. So the calendar of the Bible
- 29:23Speaker 1: and the calendar that we have are two different calendars.
- 29:26Speaker 1: I know some people probably never knew that, but now
- 29:28Speaker 1: you know. So Happy New Year. I'll see you next time.
- 29:32Speaker 1: Next Friday will be in the New Year. From the
- 29:34Speaker 1: time of this recording. Thank you so much for hanging
- 29:36Speaker 1: out with me for this morning devotion. God bless you all,
- 29:39Speaker 1: God keep you all, and remember always that God is good. Peace,
