- 2:40to tell them. Sunny mornings send you. In a remarkable
- 2:48turn of events at this year's Topsfield Fair,
- 2:51Alex Newell from Abington, Connecticut, shattered
- 2:54the record with his astonishing pumpkin, weighing
- 2:57in at 2 ,507 pounds. This victory is particularly
- 3:02special for Newell, as he and his wife, Liz,
- 3:06welcomed their first child, Nova, just a day
- 3:09before his big win. Newell, who began growing
- 3:12pumpkins at eight years old, expressed his excitement,
- 3:16stating, I saw the giant pumpkins, I got some
- 3:19seeds, and I couldn't get enough of it. The fair,
- 3:22which runs through October 13th, featured 33
- 3:25competitors this year, with Daniel Cressena and
- 3:28Thomas Keenan taking second and third places,
- 3:32respectively. Now onto sports. Last night on
- 3:41Sunday Night Football. The Patriots upset the
- 3:45Bills in Buffalo, 23 to 20. Drake May was 22
- 3:50for 30, with 273 passing yards, zero passing
- 3:55touchdowns, and no interceptions. Josh Allen
- 3:59was 22 for 31, with 253 passing yards, two passing
- 4:05touchdowns, and one interception. Next Sunday,
- 4:09the 3 and 2... Pats head to New Orleans to play
- 4:12the Saints at one. The four -and -one Dills lick
- 4:16their wounds and head to Hotlanta for Monday
- 4:19Night Football. And tonight on Monday Night Football,
- 4:23we have the two -and -two Chiefs at the three
- 4:26-and -one Jaguars starting at 815 Eastern on
- 4:30ESPN. The Chiefs are favored by three -and -a
- 4:34-half with the over -under set at 45 -and -a
- 4:38-half. in local sports. The Boston Bruins have
- 4:43finalized their roster for this season, and young
- 4:45player Matt Poitras will start the season in
- 4:48Providence, and not up in the bigs. This is disappointing
- 4:53for the 21 -year -old, who previously played
- 4:5633 games with the Bruins and scored 5 goals and
- 4:5915 points. Despite his potential, he did not
- 5:03impress the coaching staff enough to secure a
- 5:06spot. Head coach Marco Sturm noted Poitras' effort
- 5:10in practice, but emphasized the need for him
- 5:13to play more freely. With strong performance
- 5:16in the IL, Poitras could earn a call -up to the
- 5:19Bruins. In top news, Fair Isaac Corporation,
- 5:26known as FICO, is transforming the credit scoring
- 5:29market by offering mortgage lenders direct access
- 5:32to its credit scores without relying on Experian.
- 5:36Equifax, or TransUnion. Following this announcement,
- 5:41shares of FICO surged by 18%, while shares of
- 5:45credit scoring firms dropped by up to 11%. This
- 5:49shift is one of the most significant changes
- 5:51in decades, prompted by regulatory scrutiny.
- 5:55FICO's new program allows resellers to purchase
- 5:58scores for $4, plus an additional $33 upon loan
- 6:02closure, potentially increasing mortgage costs.
- 6:06The impact on borrowers will depend on how resellers
- 6:09and credit bureaus respond to these changes.
- 6:14In business news, high earners age 50 and older
- 6:19are facing new restrictions on retirement savings.
- 6:23Starting next year, catch -up contributions for
- 6:26those individuals will need to be made after
- 6:28tax if their income exceeds $145 ,000. This change,
- 6:35mandated by the Internal Revenue Service, means
- 6:38that many will pay taxes up front during their
- 6:40high -earning years, rather than during retirement.
- 6:44With catch -up limits reaching up to $11 ,250,
- 6:48this may push some into higher tax brackets.
- 6:52However, it could encourage savers to reassess
- 6:55their investment strategies, potentially favoring
- 6:58Roth accounts for tax -free withdrawals in retirement.
- 7:02In crypto movement, Bitcoin is up 3 % over the
- 7:06weekend to $124 ,000. Ethereum is up 1 % to just
- 7:13over $4 ,500. And XRP is down 1 % to $2 .97.

- 8:08back to the show. Let's talk tech. OpenAI is
- 8:13shifting its approach to copyright works in Sora,
- 8:16its AI video generation application. Chief Executive
- 8:21Sam Altman announced that copyright holders will
- 8:23gain more control over how their characters are
- 8:26utilized. Users can now create and share videos
- 8:30within a social media feed. Prior to the app's
- 8:34launch, OpenAI informed talent agencies and studios
- 8:37they would need to opt out to avoid their copyrighted
- 8:41material appearing in generated videos. Altman
- 8:45emphasized that this policy will resemble the
- 8:47opt -in model for likenesses, but with additional
- 8:50controls. He also noted that OpenAI must find
- 8:55ways to monetize Sora while sharing revenue with
- 8:58rights holders. And in entertainment news. In
- 9:05Hollywood, the rise of artificial intelligence
- 9:07actress Tilly Norwood is causing quite a stir.
- 9:13Aline van der Velden, founder of AI production
- 9:16studio Particle 6. envisions Tilly as the next
- 9:20big star, aiming for representation by a major
- 9:23talent agency soon. However, industry leaders
- 9:27are expressing concerns about the implications
- 9:29of AI performers. Gersh Agency president Leslie
- 9:34Siebert labeled Tilly's phenomenon as frightening.
- 9:39While some actors fear job displacement, others,
- 9:42like producer Scott Stuber, emphasize that the
- 9:46human condition in storytelling remains irreplaceable.
- 9:51As studios consider AI's potential, the debate
- 9:54surrounding creative authenticity and ethical
- 9:57boundaries continues. Well, alrighty folks, it's
- 10:01time for the quote of the day. And today, our
- 10:05quote comes from the American astronomer and
- 10:08science communicator, Carl Sagan. And he said,
