- 0:00Speaker 1: Seven ten wrs.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Mark Simone, Well, the best legal analyst on earth, Greg Jared.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Of course you'll see him on Fox News, and make
- 0:10Speaker 2: sure you get his books. They're excellent books, all the
- 0:13Speaker 2: way back to witch Hunt, the Russia Hoax, The Trial
- 0:16Speaker 2: of the Century is an incredible legal book, the book
- 0:20Speaker 2: the Constitution and other patriotic documents. It's going to Amazon.
- 0:23Speaker 2: You can get any of Greg Jarrett's books there. Greg Jarrett,
- 0:26Speaker 2: how you.
- 0:26Speaker 1: Doing, Hey, Mark, good to be fine. Thanks.
- 0:30Speaker 2: Hey, you were telling us about Coomy years ago, twelve
- 0:36Speaker 2: years ago, ten years ago, whatever it was. I mean,
- 0:38Speaker 2: you were onto this guy from the beginning. What do
- 0:42Speaker 2: you think really happened? Did he just happen to come
- 0:44Speaker 2: upon some seashells? Do we believe that? No, it's utterly absurd.
- 0:51Speaker 1: And I think prosecutors have a lot more evidence than
- 0:55Speaker 1: the public knows, maybe more evidence than coming now, in
- 1:01Speaker 1: the form of incriminating witnesses and documents. You know that
- 1:05Speaker 1: according to the Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, who said,
- 1:10Speaker 1: we have witnesses and documents to put case that should
- 1:15Speaker 1: send a chill down the spine of Comy and his lawyers.
- 1:20Speaker 1: And you know the evidence that they have may blow
- 1:24Speaker 1: a hole in Comy's preposterous claim that he simply happened
- 1:30Speaker 1: upon some beautiful shells on the beach and didn't understand.
- 1:37Speaker 1: I mean, look, this guy was the head of the FBI.
- 1:41Speaker 1: The bureau is highly trained and coded messages and subliminal
- 1:46Speaker 1: calls for violence, So to suggest that he didn't understand
- 1:51Speaker 1: something that everybody else understands is absurd. But you know
- 1:58Speaker 1: it is a pattern with tell me, he feigns ignorance
- 2:02Speaker 1: and plays the dummy, the weasel out of his wrongdoing.
- 2:07Speaker 1: He's a master of deceit. He's lied about leaks to
- 2:12Speaker 1: the media, lied about disclosing you know, classified documents, lied
- 2:19Speaker 1: to the pies of court. He secretly weaponized the FBI
- 2:23Speaker 1: the Russia hoax while denying it with a stray face.
- 2:28Speaker 1: And when he isn't doing all of that, he claims
- 2:31Speaker 1: acute amnesia. You know, testimony before Congress, he said, see
- 2:36Speaker 1: I don't recall, you know, some two hundred and thirty
- 2:41Speaker 1: six times to hear come he tell it. His brain
- 2:45Speaker 1: is mush. I don't buy it. It's all in act. Now.
- 2:52Speaker 2: He's a very in real life kind of a weirdo,
- 2:54Speaker 2: a awkward uncomfortable sort of guy to tell. Yeah, but
- 2:58Speaker 2: so why did these decide he's going to go on
- 3:01Speaker 2: Instagram and be a fun influencer and be the next Kardashian.
- 3:05Speaker 2: Why would a guy like that even think he could
- 3:06Speaker 2: do that.
- 3:08Speaker 1: Well, he's clever and cunning. There's always a reason for it.
- 3:13Speaker 1: And you know, there may be something far more nefarious
- 3:18Speaker 1: behind the stunt he pulled with the Seashells because read
- 3:23Speaker 1: the indictment. It demands a forfeiture of assets. Now that
- 3:27Speaker 1: jumped out at me when I read you the very
- 3:30Speaker 1: short indictment. What does that mean forfeiture of assets? Well,
- 3:35Speaker 1: the law says you cannot profit from your own illegal acts.
- 3:41Speaker 1: So you know, I think this refers to his book
- 3:45Speaker 1: royalties because it's no coincidence that Komi posted The Seashells
- 3:53Speaker 1: online his alleged threat against Trump just five days for
- 4:00Speaker 1: his book came out on May twentieth, twenty twenty five.
- 4:08Speaker 1: And you know, the controversy over the post thrust him
- 4:13Speaker 1: suddenly back into the spotlight where he had vanished. And
- 4:17Speaker 1: guess what it did. It boosted his book sales and
- 4:22Speaker 1: thus the forfeiture clause in the indictment by the way
- 4:28Speaker 1: that book involves, curiously enough, using the Internet to dispense
- 4:34Speaker 1: hateful rhetoric and insight violent Well sounds like Comy followed
- 4:40Speaker 1: the plot of his own books, doesn't it.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Well, he's but he's a pretty wealthy guy anyway, Right
- 4:47Speaker 2: he didn't work in the hedge fund world for a while, and.
- 4:50Speaker 1: Yeah he did. He's got accumulated wealth and he owns
- 4:54Speaker 1: a beach house. I think it's out on Emerald Isle
- 4:58Speaker 1: in North Carolina, which I think is where you know
- 5:01Speaker 1: the photograph was taken, So you know, he's not a
- 5:04Speaker 1: pauper by any means.
- 5:06Speaker 2: Yeah, he's using us as his attorney, Patrick pat fitzpa
- 5:10Speaker 2: Is it Fitzpatrick Fitzgerald who was over chitsgerild? Yeah, former prosecutor.
- 5:14Speaker 2: Wasn't he the guy that really went after Scooter Libby
- 5:16Speaker 2: and a few other Republicans?
- 5:19Speaker 1: Oh? Yeah? And you know they've been longtime friends. And
- 5:26Speaker 1: you know there's some evidence that his lawyer was also
- 5:29Speaker 1: involved in the leaking of information. But look, the legal
- 5:35Speaker 1: commentators who have denounced the indictment is frivolous or absurd.
- 5:41Speaker 1: I think they're overlooking several things. This case is in
- 5:45Speaker 1: a conservative district, The Eastern District of North Carolina, and
- 5:51Speaker 1: the eventual trial jury, if it gets to a trial,
- 5:55Speaker 1: may actually agree with the grand jury that Komy willfully
- 5:59Speaker 1: intended to throw in the life of the president. And
- 6:02Speaker 1: the second count against Kummie actually gives jurors a choice
- 6:06Speaker 1: of a lower standard reckless disregard. So that's easier for
- 6:11Speaker 1: prosecutors to prove and look in court. The other day,
- 6:16Speaker 1: Comy's lawyers were claiming selective, vindictive prosecution. Well, guess what,
- 6:23Speaker 1: a lot of other people in that very district have
- 6:26Speaker 1: been prosecuted successfully for similar threats. Now, the real question
- 6:33Speaker 1: will be in a free speech that's his main defense.
- 6:37Speaker 1: But I would remind people of the Supreme Court long
- 6:40Speaker 1: ago rule. But the First Amendment is not a shield
- 6:43Speaker 1: for threats against the president.
- 6:46Speaker 2: Wow, this will be an interesting case. This is good news. Hey,
- 6:50Speaker 2: let me ask you about the White House correspondence dinner.
- 6:53Speaker 2: The shooter is agreed to stay in prison and not
- 6:56Speaker 2: even fighting for bail anymore. What's going to happen this guy?
- 6:58Speaker 2: Obviously he'll be convicted from the video the evidence.
- 7:01Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, I mean I think he's it's a slam dunk.
- 7:05Speaker 1: He incriminating himself you know, he wrote a manifesto and
- 7:09Speaker 1: senator family members laying out what he was about to do,
- 7:13Speaker 1: kill people, multiple people, and you know he also took
- 7:19Speaker 1: a photograph of himself heavily armed with knives and guns.
- 7:22Speaker 1: And then of course he's caught on tape and he
- 7:27Speaker 1: at a law enforcement official, secret service and hit him.
- 7:34Speaker 1: So you know he's looking at probably spending the rest
- 7:39Speaker 1: of his life behind bars. The top count, of course,
- 7:42Speaker 1: is attempt to kill the President of the United States.
- 7:46Speaker 1: That carries a life behind bars.
- 7:49Speaker 2: You know they always say that about an assess Oh,
- 7:51Speaker 2: never get out. Well, John Hinckley's walking around. Squeaky from
- 7:55Speaker 2: is walking around, Sarah Jane Moore who shot at gerald Ford.
- 7:59Speaker 2: There's three assass and is walking around as we speak.
- 8:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean the Hinckley thing is different because it
- 8:06Speaker 1: was a you know, mental defense insanity and you know
- 8:14Speaker 1: he was put away in a mental institution, so that
- 8:17Speaker 1: that's a different standard. But you know, over time, it
- 8:22Speaker 1: depends on the venue. And if you're out in California,
- 8:25Speaker 1: we're skeeky Squeaky from uh tried to kill the president.
- 8:32Speaker 1: You know, the liberal court system tends to release people
- 8:36Speaker 1: after a few decades.
- 8:37Speaker 2: Now, if this assassin gets the right lawyer, won't they
- 8:40Speaker 2: try a mental defense? I mean, obviously what he was
- 8:43Speaker 2: trying to do was nuts. They could just plead he
- 8:46Speaker 2: was just insane.
- 8:47Speaker 1: Yeah, I doubt it very much. Look, he was a
- 8:51Speaker 1: well educated guy with a master's degree. The manifesto indicates,
- 8:56Speaker 1: you know, no mental delude, usional disorders. It was pretty straightforward.
- 9:04Speaker 1: And you know, I tend to doubt that. You know,
- 9:08Speaker 1: they'll try a mental capacity defense. You know, it's they
- 9:13Speaker 1: really you know, it's going to be a difficult case
- 9:15Speaker 1: to try to defend. And in the end he may
- 9:18Speaker 1: cop a plea.
- 9:19Speaker 2: Yeah, and what was the plate life in prison? That
- 9:22Speaker 2: kind of a plea?
- 9:25Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean it depends on you know, what is
- 9:29Speaker 1: put on the table. Could be a stated number of years, decades.
- 9:34Speaker 1: I would imagine the Feds take this stuff pretty seriously,
- 9:39Speaker 1: and I'm not sure they're going to offer him a lot.
- 9:42Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, I hope you'll write another book, Greg Jarrett,
- 9:46Speaker 2: after the chance, after that, you've got to do it
- 9:49Speaker 2: after the Komi trial is finished and hopefully gets convicted.
- 9:54Speaker 1: No, well, I think there are going to be other
- 9:56Speaker 1: indictments against Komy. Keep an eye on what's happening in
- 9:59Speaker 1: four Here is Florida where a grand jury is convened,
- 10:03Speaker 1: and I think in the bullseye there is John Brennan
- 10:07Speaker 1: and James Comy and a whole bunch of other people.
- 10:09Speaker 2: So we'll see. And that would be over the laptop
- 10:13Speaker 2: letter or something like that.
- 10:15Speaker 1: Well, no, it would be over a long running conspiracy
- 10:22Speaker 1: to defraud the government and violate the constitutional rights of
- 10:27Speaker 1: Donald Trump with their law fier crusade that lasted the
- 10:32Speaker 1: better part of a decade.
- 10:33Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, Well you were the first guy to
- 10:36Speaker 2: sound the all. You were the Paul Revere of this
- 10:38Speaker 2: story on Call Mean Company. In fact, if you want
- 10:41Speaker 2: to go back and get his books witch Hunt and
- 10:43Speaker 2: the Russia Hoax and his latest book, The Constitution Other
- 10:46Speaker 2: Patriotic Documents. It's all of his books are at Amazon,
- 10:49Speaker 2: and of course watch them on television. Greg Jarrett, thanks
- 10:52Speaker 2: for being with.
- 10:53Speaker 1: Us, Marco. He's good talking to you. Thanks for having me.
- 10:56Speaker 2: Take care. That's very encouraging news. Yeah, just as we've
- 11:03Speaker 2: been telling you. Just stay tuned. There's more coming, more
- 11:05Speaker 2: charges coming against against Comy. Hey, don't forget. At noon,
- 11:09Speaker 2: it's Buck and Clay, excellent show. Every day at twelve noon.
