- Mark Garrett: It's interesting. The anchor fails to mention the fact that this suspect is an illegal alien, which brings me to point number one. This man was invited effectively to California in 2007 because of the state's sanctuary policies. He knew that he'd be safe there and he would not be subjected to federal immigration law. What does that mean? For almost the last 20 years, this man has failed to be deported because California. refuses to cooperate with federal authorities. This allowed him to commit this crime and many others during his time in California. Which brings me to point number two. This man has committed multiple crimes and has been released from custody multiple times. Most recently by a wonderful leftist judge by the name of Nichelle Holmes. There's her picture right there. A 2024 appointee of the great governor, Gavin Newsom. The person you're looking at is the person responsible for releasing this man who had already been arrested for multiple burglaries back into society, resulting in the murder of an innocent man, an innocent husband, an innocent father of two girls. This is what leftism. does to society and the rule of law. And point number three, much of the same crowd who is so supportive of the wonderful sanctuary policies in California have a huge problem with surveillance cameras, license plate readers, flock cameras. In this case, For the police chief whose agency broke this case, one of the reasons it was broken so quickly is because they were able to use surveillance cameras and automated license plate readers or LPRs, very similar to flock cameras. Without these tools, this monster might still be on the street committing more crimes as an illegal alien in this country. Don't fool yourselves, ladies and gentlemen, surveillance cameras, automated license plate readers, and yes, flock cameras are a huge group of tools that law enforcement can and does use effectively to prevent and to solve crime.
