- 0:27Hey, everybody. Good morning from the chicken
- 0:29coop. So today we're talking about
- 0:31questions. Questions are something that I
- 0:34spend all day dealing with. Because I spend all day asking
- 0:39people questions, I give answers to questions.
- 0:43They are just everywhere, all day, helping people.
- 0:47And I can tell you one thing, when I was a kid, I've told the
- 0:50story before about how I got in so much trouble for asking too
- 0:53many questions, because that was just the nature of who I was and
- 0:58I never stopped. And I've read so many books on
- 1:01questions, the theory of questions, asking different
- 1:04questions, you name it. It's a part of my whole entire
- 1:08world. Well, I will say this.
- 1:11Everything that you are dealing with in your life can be
- 1:15reshaped or directed by the questions you ask yourself.
- 1:21So if you are in a state and you are feeling sad, it's the
- 1:28questions that are pushing you in that direction.
- 1:31Why did this happen? When am I going to this pain,
- 1:35going to stop? Whatever it might be, it's the
- 1:37questions that are directing it. And if you can artfully begin to
- 1:42interpret the questions that you are asking yourself, you will
- 1:47shift quickly. But it takes you pausing and
- 1:50stopping and actually asking yourself some really different
- 1:53questions. So when you tend to ask the same
- 1:58questions, you get the same answers over and over.
- 2:01And as you've heard me say before, you know, it's estimated
- 2:04that 2/3 of the thoughts we had today were repeated from the day
- 2:08before. Which is really sad when you
- 2:10think about it. Unless you are programmed for
- 2:12something really awesome, and most of us are not.
- 2:15Most of us are programmed to just run the same patterns that
- 2:18we'd have over and over and over again.
- 2:20So you're not necessarily asking better questions, but when you
- 2:25pause and you recognize that that's happening, it gives you
- 2:29the power of awareness, which is magical to shift things.
- 2:33It's just understanding. Okay.
- 2:34Let me you know. Get into this whole question
- 2:37thing and let me ask some better questions.
- 2:39I don't care if you even have to Google better questions to ask
- 2:42yourself, do it. We're going to shortly have
- 2:45something up on the website where you can download some
- 2:48sheets on asking yourself really great questions, just not there
- 2:52yet. But it's coming.
- 2:53But I didn't want to wait on this today because I've
- 2:55recognized that I've that just so many people out there that it
- 2:59seemed like this whole week everybody I was talking to was
- 3:02just asking really poor questions.
- 3:04And then focusing and making plans and strategies or
- 3:09circumventing problems based on the questions they were asking.
- 3:13But what if you asked a different question?
- 3:15What if you put yourself into the framework of I am going to
- 3:19keep asking myself different questions so that I have
- 3:23different perspectives. So if you drew a circle on a
- 3:27piece of paper and you put. A point at the like 12:00, three
- 3:33o'clock, 6:00 and 9:00, and you came up with whatever your
- 3:38problem was and put it in the middle of the circle or whatever
- 3:40the situation was, because it doesn't have to be a problem.
- 3:42It can be something great, but you put it in the middle of the
- 3:45circle and then you start. You ask yourself four different
- 3:49questions from four different perspectives, just like the time
- 3:52on the clock. And that's what it represents,
- 3:54is just four different perspectives.
- 3:56And even if you ask yourself a different question at those
- 3:58times of day. They really have to be very
- 4:01different questions. Not all framed in negativity or
- 4:04are all framed in positivity, but they just have to be
- 4:07directed in different ways. You will get four different
- 4:11perspectives, and this is power, and you can do this multiple
- 4:15times. You can do it for every hour on
- 4:18the clock if you want, and get different answers.
- 4:20But the exercise is meant to teach you that you can drive
- 4:24that train. You don't have to just accept
- 4:26it. You can go on.
- 4:28I mean, somebody asked me the other day.
- 4:30Well, can I go on ChatGPT and ask.
- 4:31Of course you can. You can ask it.
- 4:33What are great questions to ask myself.
- 4:36It's a great thing to to know. But you are the only one that
- 4:39can really ask the question. I can sit there and suggest them
- 4:43all, but if you're not going to ask them, it doesn't make much
- 4:46of a difference. So think about questions as.
- 4:51You're you're actually taking that and it's like the genie in
- 4:54the bottle, you know, you uncork the bottle or the magic
- 4:57Aladdin's lamp when it's been said that, you know, we are the
- 5:01lamp. And I love that because you're
- 5:03going and you're actually rubbing the lamp and you're
- 5:06putting your wish out there. But you do that through
- 5:08questions. The power of them change the
- 5:11perspective. So decide what you want to put
- 5:14out there, decide the question, and then actually ask yourself,
- 5:17is this the right question for this time?
- 5:20Should I be looking to a different question?
- 5:23Is this a positive or a negative frame?
- 5:26Find out things about the questions that you're asking
- 5:29too. Don't trust yourself with it
- 5:31because you'll go back to the same old questions so you know,
- 5:35even ask your friends. Hey, do you have great questions
- 5:37that you ask yourself regularly? The answer is probably going to
- 5:40be no, but at least make the attempt.
- 5:43And start to do some investigating.
- 5:46OK. My friends, I hope you have a
- 5:47blessed day and I will see you tomorrow.
- 5:49Bye.
