Transcript
- 0:00Hello friends, welcome to today's guest Caleb Collier with church and state media
- 0:05We're gonna be talking about some headlines and the media itself the Marcus media leftist media however
- 0:10You want to describe it and some of the headlines Americans have little to no trust in
- 0:16Establish in media
- 0:17Did you know the NPR CEO once called Donald Trump a deranged racist?
- 0:23sociopath NPR
- 0:25ABCCBS and NBC gave Trump's
- 0:2915 times more air time than Biden's and distrust in the leftist media's at record highs and government must not fund NPR and
- 0:42PBS that's next
- 0:46Welcome to world view matters discussing controversial issues
- 0:51discerning current events
- 0:54Defending biblical Christianity
- 0:56No topic off limits
- 0:59And now here's your host David Firazzo
- 1:04Hey friends, welcome odds
- 1:06This is gonna be a fun show because this is one of the topics that really got me writing and blogging in the first place before my first book
- 1:14Ever came out and before I had my first talk show or podcast
- 1:18I was really upset at the media the bias in the media even at the local
- 1:25level and we're gonna talk about that with our good friend Caleb Collier his website is church and state media
- 1:32And church and state dot media and he's got a podcast great website
- 1:37He has some phenomenal guests by the way and Caleb
- 1:41I want to bring you in right now. Thanks for your time today brother. Good to see you
- 1:44Hey, it's an absolute pleasure to be with you. We just had you on our show
- 1:48So I I chalked that up to another phenomenal guest
- 1:51I was a great show that that people check out on the website
- 1:54Yeah, we'll check that out bring up that. I think we've got an image of there we go. I put that up to
- 1:58um
- 1:59That was fun. It was fun conversation. So
- 2:03Caleb before we get into the topic and just talk about the media and
- 2:07Just how out of hand
- 2:09The media has gotten and unfortunately there's still I mean even though there's record highs in distrust
- 2:15There are still some people that will still go to the main networks and think they're getting the truth
- 2:19So we're going to talk about that but tell us about your ministry and your podcast and where people can watch and listen
- 2:26Yeah, thank you. I appreciate the opportunity
- 2:28We started this back in 2017. I'd been a politician prior to that. I didn't last very long
- 2:35Primarily because I wouldn't compromise and I really called out the bureaucracy
- 2:39Sort of a if I may and maybe being a little too generous from with myself
- 2:43But maybe your local Ron Paul
- 2:46Or at least I like to think so um, so yeah, it didn't last very long and uh, but very quickly was was brought into talk radio
- 2:53And so I've been doing that ever since you can find everything at church and state. Dot media
- 2:56We're on x we're on you know Facebook uh, we got banned off of youtube
- 3:01So you can't find us there wouldn't shut up about the vaccine
- 3:04But then especially as of late we've been on uh, we've run on to the NRB tv network
- 3:09So you can actually watch us there and they broadcast into millions of homes in in the United States
- 3:15praise god love NRB
- 3:17Um, what was I gonna say? Oh, yeah
- 3:19um, I
- 3:21Badge of honor brother on youtube. I have not been banned. I don't want to say yet because I'm trying to
- 3:28You know
- 3:30Anyway when I do when you talk about the shot
- 3:32Um, but I've had programs full-down deleted with no explanation just you violated our community standards and I know why
- 3:39So yeah youtube, but my stuff's still up there
- 3:42So whatever we can use to get the word out um, but I I love Rand Paul
- 3:47I subscribed to his sub stack. We're gonna talk about one from Alex Newman today
- 3:52Love Chris Rufo so many great people and that's what I want to talk about also and get your take right up front
- 3:59The new media
- 4:00Which is kind of I'm not saying I'm not saying it's saving America, but the new media the new platforms whether that be
- 4:07Some forms of social media, but podcasting things like that where conservatives
- 4:11Christians people with the biblical worldview and just want want the facts and then to decide on their own not be told
- 4:19What to think or have the bias in your face like I think that's a good thing. What are your thoughts on that?
- 4:25I mean, I completely agree. I cut my teeth on art Bell
- 4:28You remember coast to coast and there's an amazing show and then from there went to
- 4:32Info Wars and started listening to Alex Jones
- 4:34But that's kind of out of the norm the vast majority of people for the longest period of time
- 4:39We're going to ABC NBC. You know, they have their favorites. They can serve it as more on the Fox news side of things
- 4:45But the vast majority of people have woken up and certainly Alex Newman's article
- 4:50Points this out
- 4:52We're very very well
- 4:53You know, we got tired of being lied to and uh, we kept catching them in their lies
- 4:57And so it's just like a relationship with with just you know, you maybe a spouse or something if they continue to lie to you
- 5:04Eventually, you're going to distrust them and and COVID certainly woke us up to a lot of things
- 5:08The the mistreatment of Donald Trump like you mentioned woke people up to a lot of things and now people are looking for alternative news sources
- 5:16And we're booming and you're going to get to hear information
- 5:20That nobody else is discussing on so many of these great platforms
- 5:24Yeah, it's been a blessing and that's why I have people like you want to have some great guests on this podcast
- 5:29Um, I'm not the expert, but I interview a lot of great people that are knowledgeable in different areas
- 5:34You know, yeah, I consider myself maybe um, uh, jack of all trades
- 5:37Meaning I know a little bit about a lot of things
- 5:40But not the the expertise that I get that you won't hear from the media and you'll very rarely hear the biblical world
- 5:47View or anything supporting the biblical world view
- 5:49So let's go to this article that Alex Newman just put out
- 5:52Of course he's the CEO of Liberty Sentinel and uh legacy media in free fall amid mass firings
- 6:00I say good
- 6:02Americans have little to no trust in establishment media podcasts and independent journalists are the new mainstream
- 6:10He writes and the trends are accelerating
- 6:14One thing he mentioned about the mainstream media the most accurately describing them as Trump started to do
- 6:20I think when he was first elected president as fake media
- 6:24uh, fake news which I agree um, and they seem to have lost public trust at warp speed
- 6:32And I'm wondering uh Caleb if you think can think of a couple reasons for that
- 6:39I mean other than Donald Trump being elected and pointing out you didn't you don't you're not reporting fairly and calling them fake news
- 6:45Why do you think I mean we're talking about independent voters not just Republicans and not just Christians and even some fair-minded
- 6:52Democrats
- 6:53But independent voters and people that just want the news without the bias and the attacking of Trump. Uh, what are your thoughts?
- 7:01I think the probably the greatest catalyst was uh COVID-19 which I which I brought up uh just in my past statement there
- 7:09Um, but certainly there's been a number of of situations in you know
- 7:14Just recent American history where we've had the wool pulled over eyes and and people started asking questions and some people disappeared
- 7:21Uh, but for the vast majority of they they were just discredited call conspiracy theorists
- 7:25Uh, I know for me 9-11 was my wake-up call uh, I was serving in the United States Marine Corps during that time and I immediately started asking questions
- 7:34How does how do two planes hit two buildings and three buildings fall down, you know
- 7:39I mean, there's the kind of questions that I had
- 7:41But certainly COVID-19 I think is probably the greatest catalyst as we were told by all these experts
- 7:47They were touted out, you know, and hey it it's it was in a food market or wet
- 7:52You know food marty with a bat and then it was you know stay home and if you get the vaccine you won't get sick and and then all of that
- 7:59Just kept being proved to be lies and lies and lies and everybody started waking up to the tyranny and uh something nice started saying during that whole
- 8:07um
- 8:09Plandemic is what I refer to it as is a great oppression breeds great opportunity
- 8:13And I truly believe that's what we saw there as as more and more people started waking up to things and watching as their small businesses were closing down and
- 8:21Families were suffering that people said, yeah, I'm done with this enough. I want some freedom
- 8:27And it's certainly I'm not going to hear what's actually going on in the mainstream news
- 8:31I'm going to look elsewhere and with the advancements of technology
- 8:34It's easy to find shows like yours like mine
- 8:38Great oppression leads to great opportunity. I like that and it plus I think also on the
- 8:44I guess what we learned from its side as far as biblical
- 8:48Christians we saw how the church kind of caved
- 8:51How the church responded and kind of waved the white flag. Okay, we won't hold services
- 8:55But maybe that's for another podcast Caleb. Um, I do want to mention you you mentioned
- 9:00You know the the propaganda was off the charts and whenever you've got
- 9:05Hollywood teaming up with the Democrat Party and government to promote something i.e
- 9:12Solutions to a virus on television and everywhere else social media
- 9:17more people should raise the alarm on that uh, but Biden spent one billion dollars
- 9:25To promote covert propaganda one billion dollars. So should the government ban
- 9:31um
- 9:32This advertising like on television. I mean think i think rfk juniors looking into that
- 9:38Um, which is a good thing uh, but your thoughts on him and just that idea that how much the Democrats spent in the left spent
- 9:45Maybe the deep state the globalists spent on propaganda during
- 9:50Covid
- 9:52Yeah, I mean, it's everywhere you look and uh, you know the United States
- 9:56You know just recently made it to where it was legal for us
- 9:59For for the government to actually propagandize its own citizens that have been illegal for a very long time
- 10:04And so now we're currently seeing that everywhere we turn and you can't escape it
- 10:08I mean it we're all on social media. We're all watching you know these different reels and whatnot and they're paying these these actors who
- 10:16You know, you think might have a great point
- 10:18But it's all scripted. Yeah, so yeah
- 10:20Biden uh, fouch you all these individuals are constantly pushing you know
- 10:24I mean, you remember david it was constant
- 10:26pandemic of the unvaccinated and you turn over here and as a pandemic of the unvaccinated
- 10:30And yet those of us who didn't get the vaccine like we don't regret that we don't regret that at all
- 10:35And in fact is as more and more people started looking around and waking up like you know
- 10:39Maybe getting an experimental mRNA and not even really a vaccine
- 10:44Maybe that's not the best thing to do for us. And so I think they actually went a bridge too far and
- 10:50We're benefiting as as alternative media from it and I did want to also do it
- 10:55I hate to just hog the mic here
- 10:57No, I wanted to compliment you specifically and one of the things that you're doing and that is that
- 11:02Christian news
- 11:04Because there is a lot there's a lot of sources out there that are conservative
- 11:09But not necessarily pushing that that Christian world view and I think that's really important
- 11:14I think it's actually uh an area that we need to be a little bit cautious in
- 11:19If we start worshipping the creation i.e. Liberty if we start worshipping
- 11:24Conservatism and even Donald Trump for that matter
- 11:28Then we're not really doing what we're supposed to be do as as believers and so there is an area that actually
- 11:34I think is going to see unprecedented growth and that is in conservative Christian media
- 11:40Mm-hmm. I'm seeing that already and it's great. So hopefully we'll see more
- 11:44But at the same time
- 11:46Too many people have been duped for too long and so we've got kind of a lot of catching up to do in a way
- 11:51So yeah, I'm thankful for the new media. So let's go back to this article
- 11:57What I was encouraged by Caleb is that Alex Newman said even at the local level
- 12:04Because this is where people need to be involved
- 12:06Pee we can't get involved in our federal government right, but we I mean we can vote in elections
- 12:10But at the local level at school board meetings things like that he says big shifts are happening too
- 12:16And um, I've just love for you to respond to that in addition to the fact that
- 12:21only 31% of Americans
- 12:25Have a great deal or a fair amount of trust in the mass media 31% I think that's the lowest it's ever been
- 12:32Maybe but that's pretty bad, but the local level go ahead Caleb
- 12:36Yeah, as General Flynn has pointed out numerous times, you know politics is local
- 12:41And that's truly where we're going to be most effective right is that if we can
- 12:45Run as city councilmembers or for mayor or whatever or if you can get into a relationship
- 12:50You know to where you can actually call your city councilman and invite him out for coffee and share your concerns
- 12:55That's where you can be effective. Obviously. It's very difficult to get a hold of your congressman or your senator
- 13:00And good luck getting a hold of the president
- 13:02So at that local level is where you're going to be most effective the same principle applies for media ladies and gentlemen
- 13:08We should encourage
- 13:11Local media where you can report on the stories that were truly matter to you and to your community
- 13:17And and not just even that like even if we have individuals that
- 13:21gain a lot of success maybe the the Glenn Bex or the Sean Hannities of the world
- 13:25If they're at that local level and you see him out in the grocery store you can go approach them
- 13:29And so I would love to see the local media actually continue to rise
- 13:34And especially you know these these local medias that are really only getting their stories from the associated press
- 13:38Where you can actually hear the news behind the news and and news that actually matters to you
- 13:44So before we take a brief pause with Caleb Collier and by the way again the website is church and state dot media
- 13:51Bring up that graph again, and I just want to explain people what they're looking at this is from 1972
- 13:58To 2024 the highest line the green line there on that is people with a great deal or a fair amount of trust
- 14:07In the media and so you see the constant decline and that's down to 31
- 14:11Now in the middle line it's it that means those that have that don't have very much
- 14:17Trust and then the bottom line the light blue the dotted line says that's the people that have none at all no trust at all
- 14:23In the media
- 14:25So one more interesting fact that 26% of 18 to 29 year olds that's that kind of surprised me
- 14:36um
- 14:3718 to 29 year olds that generation has
- 14:41The lowest amount of trust or a great dealer fair amount of trust in the media you brief thought on that before we have to take a break Caleb
- 14:49Yeah, you know, we don't want to fall into the trap of
- 14:52Blaming the the next generation, you know, we don't want to be the guy get off my lawn kind of mentality there
- 14:58There's a lot of hope actually for the younger generations
- 15:01Because they've really cut their teeth on this, you know, they're the the the generation
- 15:05They didn't go to the television for their news they're the ones that have been on social media basically their whole lives
- 15:10And so they're finding this and they're kind of leading the charge with the independent media
- 15:14All these different voices on all these different apps
- 15:17And so, uh, yeah, I'm actually hopeful for that generation and what they can do for our society
- 15:22So we have to take a brief pause. We'll be right back on world view matters
- 15:26Today's show is brought to you by Harbinger's daily world news
- 15:30Bidlically understood stay informed at Harbinger's daily dot com
- 15:36You
- 15:44Friends, thank you so much for sharing the podcast and our platforms. We can get us anywhere everywhere apples spotify for audio
- 15:52also
- 15:53Facebook rumble youtube and our freedom project media app so praise god
- 15:58We're getting out there and the new YouTube channel we started in January
- 16:02It's world view matters David Fiorazo so far so good
- 16:06So let's take let's go back
- 16:08We're gonna go go back and forth here within a couple articles and I want to go to one that Chris Rufo put out on sub stack
- 16:15Before the hearings on NPR and and their CEO
- 16:20Catherine mayor or mar 10 questions
- 16:23But that's where some of these quotes are in black and white because you heard them ask her about these
- 16:29things and she said
- 16:32That Donald Trump is or at that time now. She's the CEO of NPR right so they're getting our
- 16:39Tax dollars. They're getting our funding. She called Trump a deranged racist sociopath
- 16:45In prior years when she was the CEO of Wikipedia they were censoring
- 16:50people and putting out their
- 16:52Talking points so to speak and it says that she abandoned a free and open internet as
- 16:59The mission of Wikipedia and also she mentioned a white male westernized
- 17:06Construct I would love for her to explain what the heck that means, but also
- 17:11There are
- 17:13dozens of left-wing reporters who work at NPR and
- 17:18Chris Rufo said you can you name one
- 17:21single conservative
- 17:23reporter that works in your newsroom in week a one and on you get the idea friends and
- 17:28This is not just a major media outlet. This is someone that's got funding public funding tax dollars from Americans
- 17:34Which they're looking into now. I hope it gets defunded Caleb your thoughts
- 17:40Yeah, I mean, I think it's time for NPR and PBS to go the way of the dodo honestly
- 17:46But I think what we really have to be careful of is the deception the magician right pay attention to the left hand that the actual magic is happening in the right hand
- 17:55Or not magic and the trick
- 17:57But we we're seeing people like Mark Zuckerberg who is saying things like we're getting rid of the fact checkers
- 18:03It's going to be more of an open platform where people are able to discuss certainly acts has become kind of a
- 18:09Really almost the media is it's kind of more of an open source where everything is getting discussed
- 18:14But with that being said there is that that tale of caution there
- 18:18Obviously, we can't trust people like Mark Zuckerberg and
- 18:21Certainly some of the media is starting to die off in PBS and NPR kind of leading the way on that one
- 18:26But what it's replaced with we got to be real careful there because we could quickly find ourselves in a position where hey
- 18:33Now we can trust the media and they're still steering us the wrong direction
- 18:36I'm almost like what Fox News came in and did to where the conservators were all rallying around that like this is great
- 18:42But it wasn't necessarily that Fox News was you know was more conservatives
- 18:46It was but what were they actually reporting on what weren't they telling you and that was what was more important
- 18:52Hmm good point good points actually
- 18:55So back to the end to wrap up the Alex Duman article
- 19:01Late January just a couple months ago the CNN
- 19:05CEO Mark Thompson announced that they were going to be laying off 200 employees
- 19:10That's which I don't know why I shouldn't laugh
- 19:12But because I know that they what their worldview is and their ideology and what they were promoting and and censoring
- 19:20That's good the AP associated press which friends if you don't know that they're leftist outlet
- 19:25And by the way, and that's for local news when you say local your local channels friends and your cities
- 19:31Get their talking points off enough the wire from the AP wire
- 19:35They announced they had to laugh 8% of their staff
- 19:39The Washington post you can go on down the list but
- 19:43Alex Duman mentions a new outlet a new player in the new media landscape called
- 19:48Your news
- 19:50Your news.com he says it's going to focus on local news
- 19:54Serving up stories to readers based on their zip codes
- 19:58I find that interesting and it's a model that allows news consumers to access information
- 20:04immediate from their own state
- 20:06County or city
- 20:08Written by local reporters
- 20:09So that's according to Alex Newman in this article that he put out
- 20:13This technology could be very helpful when it comes to local school board meetings
- 20:17City council meetings and local elections where you can get information Caleb your thoughts on that
- 20:23Yeah, I've actually been a part of your news for a while they've been publishing our shows and so I'm all for it
- 20:30I love when I see you know some entrepreneur who thinks of a different way to do things and this is this is in my opinion
- 20:37I think this is going to grow massively and later on in the article kind of buried at the bottom
- 20:42Alex Newman is actually a part of their board and so I've known Alex for years
- 20:46I think he's probably one of the most intelligent people I've ever met in my life
- 20:50So seeing him on the board the thing is only going to succeed
- 20:53Praise God. Yeah, I we like to brag that he is we work in the studio here at Freedom Project Media
- 21:00Which is kind of a brother or sister of Freedom Project Academy
- 21:05Alex Newman is of course part of Freedom Project Media and
- 21:09The Newman report and so he's a great guy. He's a colleague a great friend
- 21:15So yeah, so your news.com
- 21:19The one thing I did mention in the T's at the very beginning and this is from a couple months to go
- 21:23But nonetheless what ABC and CBS and NBC
- 21:27Did just take any topic and it's all the same. I followed newsbusters for years
- 21:34So when it comes to presidents pardoning someone
- 21:39They gave Trump's pardons 15 times more error 46 minutes and they gave Biden
- 21:46Three minutes
- 21:48In other words, they weren't as concerned of with Biden's pardons even though he said he wouldn't
- 21:53Pardon anybody and then especially his own family. He did anyway. So
- 21:58I think studies like this where they actually give you the minutes you look at this and go
- 22:03It's so out of balance Caleb just your thoughts on this it could be any topic
- 22:07But these are the numbers that always pan out this way
- 22:12I mean, I think people need to wake up to the fact that the media has been controlled for a very very long time
- 22:17And you know, there's certainly your grandparents will be like they just used to just report the news
- 22:21That's not the truth. I mean Rockefeller himself actually talked about how they couldn't have achieved so many of their globalist plans
- 22:28Without the help of the media. So you know these individuals that you you thought you could trust from back in the day
- 22:34No, they were all part of the agenda and certainly anything that is going to be America first
- 22:40That's not what they want
- 22:42You know, they really they they followed the the Gramsci model
- 22:46In the infiltrated everything the infiltrated our media or education or churches every every aspect
- 22:52And so there is a Marxist agenda that is pushing towards globalism and that's what they want
- 22:57So a person like Trump emerges who's talking about let's make America great again
- 23:01Of course, they're going to be opposed to that individual and they're going to take every single opportunity that they can
- 23:07To push that this guy's evil that this guy is is not playing by the rules
- 23:11He's pardoning all these people, you know, no other president has done that whatever it may look like
- 23:16That's the narrative they're going to go with
- 23:19So we've got about four minutes left with you Caleb and on your website. I want to put bring people back to your website church and state.media
- 23:26um
- 23:27You know exactly where you stand when you just look at the first sentence their under church and state it says the American founders cried
- 23:34no king but
- 23:36Jesus so let's talk about the biblical worldview and the importance of where we're at in this moment
- 23:44A lot of people try to call it a reprieve with the Trump administration
- 23:47But I always point out to the the fact that one executive order or even a hundred executives of orders
- 23:52Don't change things necessarily across the country in every state or at the local level
- 23:58And it doesn't change the body of Christ
- 24:00We've got major problems with the declining biblical worldview and so there's so much work to be done
- 24:06In fact more work to be done be done now
- 24:09It's just that maybe we won't be censored in the next couple years
- 24:12So your thoughts on where we're at is as a as a church and are a loyalty to Jesus and Jesus alone
- 24:19I gotta tell you david that's there's a whole another interview right there because that is uh
- 24:23That has been my focus as of late is is to really push that
- 24:27We can't keep our or lose sight of what's really important and what's important is Jesus Christ
- 24:32That is the essential thing as Christians
- 24:35We can't look at saviors
- 24:37Whether it be Donald Trump or some other politician
- 24:40We can't look at pastors to be our saviors either it is all Jesus Christ and the enemy is
- 24:46Well, he's he's rather brilliant and so he's not surprised by some of these things
- 24:50I mean the whole scenario of crisis and solution
- 24:53We're currently in my opinion at a very dangerous state where
- 24:59The churches have kind of been divided into three categories or at least I put them in that
- 25:03The the woke church the ostrich church and the confessing church and I borrowed that from Dietrich Bonhoffer
- 25:08Yes
- 25:09The confessing church is definitely where we want to be as Christians
- 25:12But even within that you're starting to see the emergence of individuals that I wouldn't feel comfortable following people like Paula white
- 25:19Uh, you have this new apostolic reformation. I'm not sure if you're familiar with that
- 25:23But has really taken a hold of the American church and it's a very man-centric ideology
- 25:28But it's one that's very attractive to patriots where they believe that they can take over all of these uh
- 25:33What they call them the seven mountains
- 25:35But media is part of those mountains politics
- 25:38The churches these mountains and they're all pushing for Christians to take control of this
- 25:43This is actually given the rise to that claim of Christian theocracy
- 25:47Or Christian nationalism
- 25:49But it's it's a very man-centric idea that they believe they're going to be able to build God's kingdom here on earth
- 25:54And then when Jesus comes back we just hand him the keys to his kingdom
- 25:58That is that is a lie straight out of the pit of hell and unfortunately it's it's
- 26:03It's gaining in popularity here
- 26:05Thank you for pointing that out. I I'm with you a hundred percent brother
- 26:08And last week or week and a half ago one of our top podcasts from this year this yeah this year was with Holly Pivic
