Latest / Tea Time w/Amie & Bev / Episode #335: You Were Born Creative - So What Happened?
Transcript
- 0:02Speaker 1: Hey everybody, welcome to Tea Time with Amy and Bev.
- 0:05Speaker 1: What's up, girl?
- 0:08Speaker 2: All kinds of fun stuff, right? Like always. We started
- 0:13Speaker 2: to chit-chat a little bit because you had seen some
- 0:16Speaker 2: pictures of one of my grandkids' birthday and we started
- 0:19Speaker 2: to chit-chat about that. I recognize, and it's like if
- 0:21Speaker 2: anybody sits back and watches the children, they'll recognize they're
- 0:26Speaker 2: pretty smart. They have an idea where they want to go.
- 0:28Speaker 2: He's three years old. So a kid was trying to
- 0:32Speaker 2: take something. And normally a lot of little kids can take,
- 0:35Speaker 2: you know, bigger kids, little biggers, can take stuff from
- 0:38Speaker 2: the littles like that. And they might throw a temper tantrum.
- 0:42Speaker 2: They might do whatever. But he's like, no. And he
- 0:44Speaker 2: wasn't letting go. He's like, I'm not letting go of this.
- 0:47Speaker 2: You let go. So it's just interesting just to watch
- 0:51Speaker 2: how they already know he loves hot rods. I mean,
- 0:54Speaker 2: like real large vehicles, you know, the old vehicles, the
- 0:59Speaker 2: hot rods. And so it kind of runs in the
- 1:02Speaker 2: family's blood over there with all of them though. But
- 1:05Speaker 2: it's interesting to see how they just kind of, I'd
- 1:08Speaker 2: say it runs in their blood because I'm not a
- 1:10Speaker 2: person that really believes in a lot of the hereditary stuff.
- 1:13Speaker 2: I think we take on a lot of, this is
- 1:14Speaker 2: a whole nother story for the love of God. Man,
- 1:17Speaker 2: I can go in a million different directions. I know.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Reel it in, get focused. Anyways, I'm watching him because
- 1:24Speaker 2: he's like, whoever he can get to go take him
- 1:26Speaker 2: over to watch, look at these cars to get inside
- 1:29Speaker 2: of these vehicles. And to be, just be around them
- 1:32Speaker 2: and keeps opening the gas. He's like checking out everything,
- 1:34Speaker 2: the gas caps that are the lids to the gas cap.
- 1:39Speaker 2: But he's like watching all, he's like watching all this
- 1:41Speaker 2: stuff and I'm watching him that he likes being around
- 1:44Speaker 2: the adults. So the adults will go over and go
- 1:46Speaker 2: do something. And then he wants to go hang out
- 1:48Speaker 2: with the adults. So it's, it's interesting when you watch kids,
- 1:52Speaker 2: cause they're really not kids. I mean, they're in a
- 1:56Speaker 2: kid body because they just got here on this planet,
- 1:58Speaker 2: but they're not. They've got so much knowledge and information
- 2:01Speaker 2: with inside of them. And then I'm watching my other
- 2:04Speaker 2: grandson because I had him over on Friday and we're
- 2:06Speaker 2: sitting in playing and stuff. And some of the things, rules,
- 2:10Speaker 2: we give kids rules. Don't take apart your toys. Don't
- 2:13Speaker 2: do this. No, they need to be able to take
- 2:15Speaker 2: these toys apart. He likes to take his vehicles, his
- 2:19Speaker 2: matchbox cars or his bigger vehicles, And take off the
- 2:23Speaker 2: tires and the rims and switch them around to other vehicles.
- 2:26Speaker 2: Take off, take the vehicle apart, maybe remove the bed
- 2:29Speaker 2: off of a truck. Like he's always doing this stuff
- 2:31Speaker 2: because they're seeing things. They're visually seeing things, how they
- 2:35Speaker 2: want to create. And when we stop them from doing
- 2:39Speaker 2: those things, because don't take your partner toy. You just
- 2:41Speaker 2: got that. It's brand new. Let's follow these rules that
- 2:45Speaker 2: have been set in place by somebody. And we've all
- 2:48Speaker 2: followed them. But it's like, no, allow them to, just
- 2:51Speaker 2: like for ourselves, allow them to express themselves. Allow them
- 2:55Speaker 2: to take those things apart and look at things a
- 2:58Speaker 2: little bit differently. Explore. Be creative. And it's the same
- 3:03Speaker 2: thing for us. When I sit and watch all that,
- 3:06Speaker 2: he's giving me permission to start taking shit apart. Who
- 3:09Speaker 2: freaking cares? If I can't get it back together again, oh, well.
- 3:14Speaker 2: Or I'll get it back together again from a different perspective.
- 3:17Speaker 2: I'll take it all, dismantle the whole thing and then
- 3:19Speaker 2: bring it all back together. But it's going to be different.
- 3:22Speaker 2: It's going to look different. Maybe that's a new vehicle
- 3:24Speaker 2: that comes out that's on the road now. That's our creativity.
- 3:28Speaker 2: And it's like I bring all this around to stop
- 3:31Speaker 2: putting rules on your creativity. Like stop putting rules on
- 3:36Speaker 2: yourself and restricting yourself from being yourself. Just be. Asking yourself,
- 3:43Speaker 2: what do I want? This is something I've been asking
- 3:45Speaker 2: myself a lot lately because I have been one of
- 3:47Speaker 2: those empathic people that it was my survival to always
- 3:51Speaker 2: know what engage everything around me. And it's like when
- 3:54Speaker 2: you do that, you don't know what you want. You
- 3:58Speaker 2: get a taste of things that you maybe don't want
- 4:00Speaker 2: from other people, but you don't know exactly what you want.
- 4:03Speaker 2: So that's what I'm doing. I'm asking myself these questions
- 4:06Speaker 2: because these are big questions for myself.
- 4:11Speaker 1: I am listening to a podcast influencer. His name is
- 4:16Speaker 1: Myron Golden. And I might've mentioned this before in our videos. Um, he,
- 4:23Speaker 1: his niche is teaching through the Bible scriptures on business
- 4:30Speaker 1: and wealth. And one of the things he pointed out now,
- 4:35Speaker 1: I'll just preface with wasn't raised religious. I've never read
- 4:38Speaker 1: the Bible. I've attempted to read the Old Testament, grossed
- 4:41Speaker 1: me out, and I stopped reading it. And I know
- 4:46Speaker 1: passages from here and there, from listening to different things
- 4:50Speaker 1: and people. So anyway, I just want to make that clear.
- 4:53Speaker 1: I'm not somebody who's going to recite scriptures to anybody.
- 4:59Speaker 1: But what he was talking about is in the beginning
- 5:01Speaker 1: that God stated that he created... which tells us he
- 5:14Speaker 1: is creative. He, she, whatever you want to call it,
- 5:17Speaker 1: is creative. And if we are that which we are
- 5:20Speaker 1: creative from, we are creative. And his whole point was,
- 5:25Speaker 1: if we are not being creative, we get stagnant. And
- 5:31Speaker 1: when we get stagnant, then that's kind of where we
- 5:36Speaker 1: lose our purpose and we get depressed and And we
- 5:42Speaker 1: feel lost because we're not being creative. We're not creating. And,
- 5:50Speaker 1: and that could look at it, you know, that could
- 5:53Speaker 1: look like so many different things. People create through painting,
- 5:56Speaker 1: people create through working on automobiles, people create through numbers,
- 6:01Speaker 1: people create through pottery. Like there's, there's a multitude of
- 6:06Speaker 1: ways to be creative. Mine is, I'm creative. My creative
- 6:11Speaker 1: art is creating classes and teaching. That's my creativity. I
- 6:15Speaker 1: like doing that. I could do that all day long
- 6:19Speaker 1: for days. And some people would look at it as
- 6:24Speaker 1: Amy's always working on her business. Well, no, not if
- 6:27Speaker 1: I enjoy doing it. That is part of my creativity.
- 6:30Speaker 1: Then I'm enjoying what I'm doing and knowing that what
- 6:33Speaker 1: I am creating is going to be beneficial for others.
- 6:37Speaker 1: It's no different than a piece of art. Somebody creates
- 6:39Speaker 1: a piece of art, a painting, a piece of pottery.
- 6:43Speaker 1: They're making it to sell so somebody can enjoy it
- 6:46Speaker 1: and enjoy it for eternity or for however long they're
- 6:50Speaker 1: on the planet or until they get rid of it.
- 6:53Speaker 1: So it's the same with what I do. And so, yeah,
- 6:59Speaker 1: it is important that we're creative in some way. Some
- 7:02Speaker 1: people journal. Their creativity is journaling, which is journaling their life.
- 7:07Speaker 1: journaling to get clarity on themselves and what they're moving through, experiencing,
- 7:16Speaker 1: that's creativity. And then sometimes that journaling might turn into
- 7:21Speaker 1: a book. So tapping into what is it that you'd
- 7:27Speaker 1: like to do that is creative. And you got to
- 7:30Speaker 1: figure that out. Nobody can tell you what that is.
- 7:33Speaker 1: And you go explore. There's so many You know, take classes.
- 7:38Speaker 1: Maybe it's cooking. Take cooking classes, you know, and learn
- 7:44Speaker 1: something new or go buy a recipe book and try
- 7:47Speaker 1: all the recipes. So you got to start is what
- 7:51Speaker 1: I'm getting at. You have to start in finding out
- 7:54Speaker 1: what it is you like. And there are going to
- 7:56Speaker 1: be things along the way. If you don't know what
- 7:58Speaker 1: you don't like, you're not going to know that until
- 8:00Speaker 1: you actually try it. Like I know I'm not a bicyclist.
- 8:05Speaker 1: That is not a thing I want to do. It's
- 8:07Speaker 1: not comfortable to me to ride a bicycle. I just,
- 8:10Speaker 1: I don't enjoy it. I'm not a runner. I know
- 8:14Speaker 1: that about myself. Girl, if I'm running, you just don't
- 8:16Speaker 1: ask questions. You start running too because there's something happening
- 8:19Speaker 1: because I'm not the runner. But people enjoy that and
- 8:25Speaker 1: that's where they're tapping into their higher self and just
- 8:28Speaker 1: being in their meditation as they're running. Same with hobbies.
- 8:32Speaker 1: Hobbies create that meditative... act because you're so focused on
- 8:39Speaker 1: what you're doing that it's actually a meditative moment for you.
- 8:44Speaker 1: But how are you going to know what that is
- 8:48Speaker 1: until you actually go explore your options and figure it out?
- 8:54Speaker 2: It's true. You brought up meditation. So that reminds me
- 8:59Speaker 2: of another thing that I experienced with my oldest grandson
- 9:02Speaker 2: on Friday. We're in the room and we're playing with cars.
- 9:06Speaker 2: One of the things that I did, because I have pictures,
- 9:10Speaker 2: we've talked about that recently, of myself as this younger person.
- 9:14Speaker 2: And I'm playing with them, but I'm not playing with
- 9:16Speaker 2: them like I could be. And I looked up at
- 9:19Speaker 2: my picture. I was probably like seven or eight in
- 9:22Speaker 2: the picture, not too far off from where he's at.
- 9:25Speaker 2: And I asked myself, how would I play? Like, how
- 9:29Speaker 2: would that version of me play? And I started getting
- 9:32Speaker 2: all kinds of creative while I was playing the game. Like, okay,
- 9:35Speaker 2: over here is where my ranch is. Over here is
- 9:38Speaker 2: where the farm is. This is where you get your
- 9:42Speaker 2: vehicles worked on. This is the rock quarry over here.
- 9:46Speaker 2: I had it all set up. Because he gives me
- 9:50Speaker 2: all these cars to play with, so I play with them.
- 9:52Speaker 2: And during that time, he just all of a sudden
- 9:54Speaker 2: makes a comment. Because we're getting our stuff set up.
- 9:58Speaker 2: And he says, it's so quiet. And I said, that's
- 10:01Speaker 2: how it is out here. It really is quiet. And
- 10:04Speaker 2: he says, yeah. He says, what I notice is when
- 10:07Speaker 2: it gets quiet, I'll start hearing sounds that I didn't
- 10:10Speaker 2: hear were in the room before. And then he says,
- 10:13Speaker 2: I kind of go into, I kind of zone out.
- 10:16Speaker 2: But his description of zoning out was getting into the
- 10:19Speaker 2: meditative space. It's moving meditation. It's exactly what you're describing.
- 10:24Speaker 2: It's this is something that's his passion. We're having a
- 10:26Speaker 2: good time right now. And it's peaceful. I've said numerous
- 10:30Speaker 2: times when I pick up the kids, I let them
- 10:32Speaker 2: drive out because we're on the dirt. So all of
- 10:34Speaker 2: them sit on my lap and I let them drive.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Even when they're sitting in the vehicle, even like if
- 10:39Speaker 2: they're in my energy in my lap, they're like, Gosh,
- 10:42Speaker 2: I grandma, I kind of really feel kind of tired
- 10:44Speaker 2: all of a sudden. And we talk about it. It's like,
- 10:46Speaker 2: because it's, I'm a calmer energy because I've had the
- 10:49Speaker 2: opportunity to be out of the city limits and to
- 10:53Speaker 2: be in this calmer energy. Cause I, and I can
- 10:55Speaker 2: recognize a difference when I go back into town. It's
- 10:59Speaker 2: from my perspective where I've been at now, cause I've
- 11:02Speaker 2: been able to calm down. My, my zero point is
- 11:05Speaker 2: a different zero point now where it's peaceful and quiet.
- 11:09Speaker 2: When I go into town, It's chaotic. If I go
- 11:12Speaker 2: into certain stores, it's too much for me. I can
- 11:16Speaker 2: be in there for a small amount of time, get
- 11:19Speaker 2: in and get my stuff. And that's on me because
- 11:22Speaker 2: I can change that by actually recognizing myself, making sure
- 11:28Speaker 2: I'm putting up my shields. I'm going to call them
- 11:30Speaker 2: shields for my protection or because I might feel like
- 11:33Speaker 2: I'm too tempted maybe to go into everybody else's energy
- 11:36Speaker 2: to kind of gauge the situation or the environment. And
- 11:39Speaker 2: it's not necessary. If I know that I'm always safe,
- 11:42Speaker 2: I don't have to gauge myself. I don't have to
- 11:44Speaker 2: drop my energy. And not that it's a drop, but
- 11:47Speaker 2: I don't have to transition my energy from the space
- 11:49Speaker 2: that I'm feeling good to any other energy. I don't
- 11:52Speaker 2: have to, but I've done it my whole freaking life.
- 11:56Speaker 2: And so it's recognizing that these are all just opportunities
- 11:58Speaker 2: when you step into them, stepping in with the family
- 12:01Speaker 2: for the birthday. I recognize how I feel so not
- 12:08Speaker 2: in resonance with everything. If there's a conversation that's happening,
- 12:10Speaker 2: I'm noticing these aren't my conversations. This energy is not
- 12:14Speaker 2: my energy to be in. And I'm not, before I
- 12:17Speaker 2: would have been like, hey, listen, I might've tried to
- 12:19Speaker 2: shift their gears and give them a different perspective, but
- 12:22Speaker 2: I don't try, unless someone asks me a question about it,
- 12:25Speaker 2: I don't try to give them a different perspective. I
- 12:27Speaker 2: don't try to inform them, hey, you guys are being
- 12:30Speaker 2: really negative right now. You could feel better because it's
- 12:34Speaker 2: not my thing. I had to grow through that. And
- 12:37Speaker 2: it's up to them to be able to have that
- 12:38Speaker 2: opportunity to grow through things without expectations. I love them all,
- 12:42Speaker 2: but I also notice where there's not a resonance.
- 12:47Speaker 1: Yeah, when you mentioned that quietness, so in the past,
- 12:54Speaker 1: because I was so busy in my head, my internal
- 12:57Speaker 1: was so busy, I needed my external to be busy.
- 13:00Speaker 1: So you need the noise going all the time. for
- 13:04Speaker 1: distraction even though you're trying to focus on something like
- 13:08Speaker 1: you know doing payroll or something you know or creating
- 13:10Speaker 1: contracts or um and now I really enjoy the quiet
- 13:18Speaker 1: I can't even have music like any uh music with
- 13:23Speaker 1: words I can't listen to it while I'm working because
- 13:26Speaker 1: I want to listen to that and beep bop and
- 13:27Speaker 1: sing along I can't focus on my work um Now
- 13:33Speaker 1: I can have like, you know, like just instrumental music going.
- 13:37Speaker 1: I can do that. That's all good. But I just
- 13:41Speaker 1: really enjoy it being quiet while I'm working, even in
- 13:45Speaker 1: the office at my day job. And I have an
- 13:52Speaker 1: office space, but right outside of my office space is
- 13:56Speaker 1: a couple people that sit at desks. And one has
- 14:00Speaker 1: to have music going and the other one has to
- 14:02Speaker 1: talk out loud. And every once in a while when
- 14:09Speaker 1: there's not a lot of activity going on, we call
- 14:12Speaker 1: it our down days where we actually might, you know,
- 14:14Speaker 1: get caught up on stuff. And it would just be
- 14:18Speaker 1: so quiet. All of us are just working away. And
- 14:21Speaker 1: sure enough, one of them will say, oh, my God,
- 14:24Speaker 1: it's so quiet in here. Of course, in my head,
- 14:28Speaker 1: I'm like thinking, well, shut the fuck up because I
- 14:31Speaker 1: was kind of enjoying that quietness. Or it's too quiet, right?
- 14:37Speaker 1: It's too quiet. And I'm zoned in. I'm in my work.
- 14:42Speaker 1: I'm getting things done. I'm focused. I'm just letting things flow.
- 14:47Speaker 1: And then somebody will say something or a customer comes
- 14:51Speaker 1: in or whatever it is and just breaks that. Interrupts.
- 14:55Speaker 1: Not breaks it, but interrupts it. But anyway, yeah, it's
- 15:00Speaker 1: just funny you mention that because that happens in our
- 15:02Speaker 1: office every once in a while. But it is they
- 15:06Speaker 1: they need they. There's three, actually four of them around me,
- 15:13Speaker 1: but three of them don't like it to be quiet.
- 15:19Speaker 1: They've even said like even the entire building, there'll be
- 15:22Speaker 1: days it is super quiet, not much activity. And it's
- 15:26Speaker 1: been a while, but but it had been mentioned that
- 15:29Speaker 1: we needed music streaming through the building. And that's what
- 15:35Speaker 1: I was like, I disagree, but whatever. It's going to
- 15:41Speaker 1: be what it's going to be. I don't have any
- 15:43Speaker 1: control over that, but that was, my thought was no,
- 15:48Speaker 1: I don't think so. Cause then, you know, you have,
- 15:51Speaker 1: now you have the music playing and if people walk
- 15:56Speaker 1: in and now there's talking and music and just so
- 15:58Speaker 1: much happening that it's like, no, thank you.
- 16:05Speaker 2: That's like the distractive party atmosphere is what it reminds
- 16:08Speaker 2: me of. And I'm not, I don't mind listening to
- 16:11Speaker 2: music if I'm cleaning the house. Sometimes I do, sometimes
- 16:14Speaker 2: I don't. But I find myself, I'll listen to podcasts
- 16:18Speaker 2: a lot more frequently than I do anything, but I'll,
- 16:21Speaker 2: I'll get kind of these crazy days that I call
- 16:23Speaker 2: them crazy. Cause I don't listen to music all the time,
- 16:25Speaker 2: but then I feel drawn to listen to music and
- 16:28Speaker 2: I just listened to my intuition. But most of the places,
- 16:31Speaker 2: if I go in the town and any, any of
- 16:34Speaker 2: the stores are playing music, I'm probably not going to
- 16:36Speaker 2: be in there very long because most of the tones,
- 16:38Speaker 2: it's just, it's a grading on me. It's not, it doesn't,
- 16:42Speaker 2: the frequencies aren't right. And I don't know if it's
- 16:45Speaker 2: like an age thing, but wanting to be in the
- 16:47Speaker 2: quiet space. Cause I don't, I didn't have the opportunity
- 16:50Speaker 2: to live out where, where I do now when I
- 16:52Speaker 2: was a lot younger, but I just appreciate it so much.
- 16:57Speaker 2: I can't imagine being any other way. And it gives you,
- 17:00Speaker 2: Then you can stop. And that's probably what was the
- 17:02Speaker 2: reason why, because you can actually stop and you can
- 17:05Speaker 2: actually feel your emotions. You can actually hear what your
- 17:08Speaker 2: thoughts are. You can hear how you're creating and all
- 17:11Speaker 2: that other stuff is distraction because maybe at the time
- 17:14Speaker 2: you don't have, maybe at the time I didn't have
- 17:16Speaker 2: the tools. I can tell you, I did not have
- 17:18Speaker 2: the tools to process or handle the emotions or things
- 17:21Speaker 2: that were going on in my head. So I was basically,
- 17:25Speaker 2: I was the passenger in the vehicle for a very
- 17:28Speaker 2: long time. And now I'm taking the wheels. Like I'm
- 17:31Speaker 2: taking the wheel. These are the things that I want
- 17:33Speaker 2: to do. Even with my grandkids, I'm allowing them to
- 17:36Speaker 2: choose how we're going to play, but I'm choosing how
- 17:39Speaker 2: I'm going to show up. And so it's different. And
- 17:42Speaker 2: I'm choosing how I'm going to show up in these circumstances.
- 17:44Speaker 2: Like what is my behavior going to be? How am
- 17:48Speaker 2: I going to be more of my normal self instead
- 17:51Speaker 2: of the self that was told you had to sit
- 17:53Speaker 2: and be quiet, you're to be seen and not heard.
- 17:55Speaker 2: You're like all these other things that are said, and
- 17:59Speaker 2: unless you're being productive, you're really useless get out of
- 18:03Speaker 2: the way you know go clean the yard go whatever
- 18:06Speaker 2: but it's it's recognizing that we have these opportunities for
- 18:10Speaker 2: a quiet down to get to know ourselves and and
- 18:14Speaker 2: it's easier i mean if you're just coming into into
- 18:18Speaker 2: a relationship you're going on a date and you really
- 18:20Speaker 2: like this person this person really likes you you guys
- 18:22Speaker 2: are going to sit and like to try to absorb
- 18:24Speaker 2: everything of each other and it's the same way for
- 18:26Speaker 2: ourselves It's to be so curious about ourselves and to
- 18:30Speaker 2: be so intimate with ourselves to be able to explore
- 18:33Speaker 2: these and find the things that we like and the
- 18:35Speaker 2: things that we don't like, or they don't really kind of,
- 18:38Speaker 2: they're not as guiding for us as something else. I mean,
- 18:42Speaker 2: they are guides. It does guide us, but it's not,
- 18:45Speaker 2: it's not in a passionate way. And we want to
- 18:46Speaker 2: follow those passions. And, and I kept hearing that forever.
- 18:49Speaker 2: You got to follow your passion, but I didn't have
- 18:51Speaker 2: any way to compare. I didn't know what did that
- 18:55Speaker 2: look like? Cause I was, I've been so used to doing,
- 18:58Speaker 2: what I thought I was supposed to do. And so
- 19:03Speaker 2: it's learning, it's stepping on the other side of that
- 19:05Speaker 2: and recognizing I don't have to do anything. Worst case scenario,
- 19:11Speaker 2: is it a worst case scenario? I'll go find me
- 19:12Speaker 2: a nice box and I'll find me a nice tree
- 19:16Speaker 2: and that's where I'll stay for a while. And I'll
- 19:20Speaker 2: grow from that space. But I enjoy the peace and quiet.
- 19:24Speaker 2: I enjoy getting to know myself. I enjoy getting to
- 19:29Speaker 2: have an understanding about myself so that old patterns aren't
- 19:34Speaker 2: what's leading me around anymore. Instead, I'm being led by,
- 19:38Speaker 2: I'm quiet enough to hear the information that's flowing into me.
- 19:44Speaker 1: Very good. And it's and I'm going to bring this
- 19:48Speaker 1: back around to it's in those quiet moments it's in
- 19:52Speaker 1: those meditative type states where our creativity can blossom because
- 19:57Speaker 1: we're allowing the flow of the information to come to
- 20:01Speaker 1: us to make it come have it come into fruition
- 20:07Speaker 1: so when somebody is when somebody is painting and they're
- 20:12Speaker 1: in their zone, that's when the, the, the picture comes
- 20:16Speaker 1: alive or somebody is doing pottery. That's when the, the
- 20:21Speaker 1: base or the cup or the plate forms, whatever it
- 20:27Speaker 1: is they desire. And so, um, you know, we just,
- 20:33Speaker 1: we don't know what to do with the quiet when
- 20:35Speaker 1: we've been living in so much, uh, busyness and turmoil
- 20:40Speaker 1: and distractions and noise that when things do quiet down,
- 20:45Speaker 1: we don't know what to do with that. We don't
- 20:47Speaker 1: know how to use that quiet space. We don't know
- 20:52Speaker 1: how to utilize it in a beneficial way. Instead, because
- 20:57Speaker 1: of the way we have programmed our mind to be
- 21:02Speaker 1: is we always have to be thinking about something. And
- 21:07Speaker 1: I used to be that way. My waking moments, if
- 21:10Speaker 1: I wasn't doing something that was distracting me, then I
- 21:13Speaker 1: was busy in my head thinking about all the things
- 21:15Speaker 1: that were wrong. And it was yesterday. I think it
- 21:22Speaker 1: was yesterday. I was doing something. And I realized I
- 21:28Speaker 1: was just doing it and I wasn't thinking about anything.
- 21:32Speaker 1: And I do that so much more often now than
- 21:36Speaker 1: ever before. It's just be in the moment, doing whatever
- 21:40Speaker 1: it is I'm doing and not thinking about anything. Not
- 21:45Speaker 1: what's next, what did I do yesterday, what needs to
- 21:48Speaker 1: get done, where's my to-do list, what if this happens,
- 21:54Speaker 1: what if that happens, like none of that. I'm just
- 21:57Speaker 1: in the moment, just being with whatever it is I
- 22:01Speaker 1: was doing. And that is so freeing. to realize that
- 22:07Speaker 1: you've actually attained. Do I do it all the time? No,
- 22:10Speaker 1: I don't do it all the time, but I definitely
- 22:13Speaker 1: do it more frequently than I used to, which matters, right?
- 22:17Speaker 1: Cause I can only compare myself to how I used
- 22:19Speaker 1: to be. And it's just, it's just so freeing and relaxing,
- 22:24Speaker 1: calming to know that I can be in that space
- 22:28Speaker 1: and be okay. I'm safe. I'm okay.
- 22:33Speaker 2: Kind of like our purpose in so many ways in
- 22:36Speaker 2: such a small way. But those are the, that's the passion.
- 22:40Speaker 2: Like that to me is like, there is passion in
- 22:42Speaker 2: those moments because it's like, there's nothing else. It's so neutral.
- 22:46Speaker 2: It's so with grace and ease. It's so just flowy,
- 22:52Speaker 2: not restricted, not limited. It's just open and flowing. No
- 22:56Speaker 2: have to, it's get to.
- 23:01Speaker 1: And the restriction is the restrictions you're putting on yourself
- 23:03Speaker 1: within your own head.
- 23:05Speaker 2: 100%.
- 23:05Speaker 1: The way you're perceiving you, your life, your past, all
- 23:09Speaker 1: the things. And so, yeah, lift those restrictions. Be unlimited.
- 23:16Speaker 1: Have unlimited possibilities. What if things are more amazing than
- 23:21Speaker 1: you ever dreamed of or expected?
- 23:22Speaker 2: So....
- 23:26Speaker 1: Tap into your creativity or at least start playing with
- 23:29Speaker 1: it to see what it is. And have fun with it.
- 23:35Speaker 1: Unleash the restrictions of not being playful. Because so many
- 23:42Speaker 1: of us had those restrictions. I had to be the
- 23:45Speaker 1: adult as a child and how fair is that to me?
- 23:48Speaker 1: My story is is my story. And I know there
- 23:55Speaker 1: are other stories that are, they're way more traumatizing than mine.
- 24:00Speaker 1: But the point is as children, we were, we were,
- 24:03Speaker 1: so to speak, robbed of our childhood. We didn't get
- 24:07Speaker 1: to be those children. We didn't get to be playful
- 24:10Speaker 1: all the time. And so now as an adult, guess what?
- 24:14Speaker 1: You can do something different. You can, you don't have
- 24:16Speaker 1: to have those restrictions on yourself. So play with it,
- 24:20Speaker 1: discover you. Be interested in you. Figure out what you enjoy.
- 24:24Speaker 1: And do more of it. It's okay. It's okay. It's
- 24:32Speaker 1: like the other day, we were talking about, my husband
- 24:38Speaker 1: and I were talking about what we're going to have
- 24:39Speaker 1: for dinner or whatever. And I just piped up and
- 24:43Speaker 1: I'm like, let's just have ice cream for dinner. Or
- 24:47Speaker 1: have ice cream first and then have dinner, you know?
- 24:49Speaker 2: And so.
- 24:50Speaker 1: Just being playful. And he laughed and I laughed. Of course,
- 24:53Speaker 1: we didn't. We had dinner and then didn't have room
- 24:56Speaker 1: for dessert, but that was okay. But just the playfulness
- 25:00Speaker 1: or the idea of it was fun.
- 25:04Speaker 2: We've eaten ice cream for dinner.
- 25:06Speaker 1: Yeah, do it, right?
- 25:08Speaker 2: Have the cake. One of the other things I would say,
- 25:12Speaker 2: because you're saying play, it's go to the store and
- 25:15Speaker 2: get yourself some Play-Doh. It is the most inexpensive thing
- 25:18Speaker 2: you can get and go home. If you don't know
- 25:20Speaker 2: what to do with it, how do you know until
- 25:22Speaker 2: you start playing with it? You can roll it in
- 25:24Speaker 2: the ball over and over and over and over again,
- 25:26Speaker 2: squish it. Your mind, when you're doing that stuff, because
- 25:29Speaker 2: you're in the moment, you're right now, and then now
- 25:32Speaker 2: you're able to receive information. You're able to be playful.
- 25:36Speaker 2: It's making things light. We want to have things light.
- 25:40Speaker 2: You don't want to have things all heavy. It's not necessary.
- 25:42Speaker 2: We've learned that we need to be serious and have
- 25:44Speaker 2: things heavy, and we've got to work and put our
- 25:46Speaker 2: notes to the grindstone.
- 25:47Speaker 1: That's not.
- 25:49Speaker 2: that's not going to get you where you want to
- 25:51Speaker 2: get to.
- 25:53Speaker 1: And I also heard too, and I know it's to
- 25:55Speaker 1: be true for myself because I realized I do it.
- 25:58Speaker 1: It's not, it's not the outcome of the creativity. It's
- 26:03Speaker 1: the journey along the way. It's a process of being creative.
- 26:07Speaker 1: It's not the result. And I've noticed that I've, it
- 26:13Speaker 1: was just, I got to where whatever I was working
- 26:18Speaker 1: on was complete. And I was like, well, crap, now what? Well,
- 26:25Speaker 1: let's go create something else, right? And so, yeah, you
- 26:30Speaker 1: just keep being into those joyful things that lift your
- 26:36Speaker 1: heart up. So we got to get more into what's
- 26:40Speaker 1: lifting us up and have more fun with that.
- 26:45Speaker 2: I agree.
- 26:46Speaker 1: So, friends, sounds like you have your task. assigned, uh,
- 26:52Speaker 1: go be creative, go figure it out, uh, figure out what,
- 26:55Speaker 1: what lights you up, what you enjoy doing and do
- 26:59Speaker 1: more of it. Um, and it could be multiple things
- 27:02Speaker 1: and that's okay too. So, um, other people are having
- 27:07Speaker 1: these conversations, whether internally or externally. So you can be
- 27:11Speaker 1: resourceful and share our content, share our links, um, make comments,
- 27:16Speaker 1: ask questions, And let's be out there helping one another
- 27:21Speaker 1: as we move through this life experience and know that
- 27:25Speaker 1: we're not alone in what we're doing. There's somebody out
- 27:29Speaker 1: there experiencing something similar to you. And so this is
- 27:33Speaker 1: why Bev and I come have these conversations because we
- 27:35Speaker 1: know that somebody is going to hear it and it's
- 27:38Speaker 1: going to resonate. So any final words as we wrap
- 27:42Speaker 1: this up?
- 27:43Speaker 2: I say in the comments below, Make a comment about
- 27:47Speaker 2: the things that light you up.
- 27:50Speaker 1: Yeah, because you might have an idea or you might
- 27:52Speaker 1: do something that somebody else hasn't tried yet or hasn't
- 27:55Speaker 1: even thought about and they might want to give it
- 27:58Speaker 1: a go.
- 27:58Speaker 2: Yeah. All right.
