Latest / Harder Than Life / Every Complaint Is Surrender—Here's Why
Transcript
- 0:00Chronic migraine is 15 or more headache days a month, each lasting four hours or more. Botox, onabotulinum toxin A, prevents headaches in adults with chronic migraine before they start. It's not for those with 14 or fewer headache days a month. It prevents on average eight to nine headache days a month versus six to seven for placebo.
- 0:17Prescription Botox is injected by your doctor. Effects of Botox may spread hours to weeks after injection causing serious symptoms. Alert your doctor right away as difficulty swallowing, speaking, breathing, eye problems or muscle weakness can be signs of a life-threatening condition. Patients with these conditions before injection are at highest risk. Side effects may include allergic reactions, neck and injection site pain, fatigue and headache. Allergic reactions can include rash, welts, asthma symptoms and dizziness. Don't receive Botox if there's a skin infection.
- 0:42Tell your doctor your medical history, muscle or nerve conditions, including ALS Lou Gehrig's disease, myasthenia gravis or Lambert-Eaton syndrome, and medications, including botulinum toxins, as these may increase the risk of serious side effects. Why wait? Ask your doctor, visit BotoxChronicMigraine.com, or call 1-800-44-BOTOX to learn more. What's poppin'? 100 Life Nation, it's Kelly Siegel, and welcome to The Hard Reset. Let's talk about something subtle, but very expensive.
- 1:09complaining. Man, you hear me say it all the time. Excuses don't get results. Do you feel better after your complaint? Never. Complaining doesn't feel dangerous. It does feel normal. It's relatable. Even bonding sometimes drives me insane, but it happens to us all. And here's what I learned the hard way.
- 1:33Every complaint you make is a quiet surrender of power. Not only is it a surrender of power, it's basically handing your power and becoming a victim. I've caught myself complaining about things I've created, like my schedule, my stress, my lack of time, my overextending myself, you name it. It's radical accountability. And then I had to ask myself that hard question.
- 2:01I caused this, why am I acting like the victim? Forgive me if you've heard this. Remember the answer to everything is that mirror. Go look in the mirror and there's your answer. But complaining gives your brain relief without responsibility. That's not being harder than life. It lets you vent instead of solve. Blame instead of act. And over time, it's trained you to see yourself as powerless.
- 2:31No way, no how. Think about it. Every time you complain without action, you reinforce this story. This is happening to me. Not I'm making this happen. Power lives in a different story. What can I do about this? I create my own life. Once I started catching complaints, everything shifted. Instead of venting, I just started adjusting.
- 3:00Instead of blaming, I started choosing. And my energy changed. My posture changed. My confidence changed. Because power returns the moment ownership begins. Finally, when there's one finger pointing away, there are three pointing right back at you. So here's your hard reset. When you catch yourself complaining this week, pause. Either take action or just let it go.
- 3:28No more leaking energy through words that change nothing. Your voice is powerful. Use it to build energy.
