- 0:24[SPEAKER_00]: Give us on his way back and get out of him.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_00]: Let's go again.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_00]: There it is.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_00]: He did it a 47-D season and a season of life in the other and naturely baseball history from Ronald Akutia, Jr.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_00]: There's a drive right on the Man of Heaven.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_00]: Man of Heaven, what a season he is having.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, it's this round hard.
- 0:57[UNKNOWN]: Be it to the right of the left.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_01]: My truck has ripped them all around.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_01]: What's up, guys?
- 0:59[SPEAKER_01]: Mike Traut.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_01]: And this is the sports car of C.E.E.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_01]: With current, bubbling hand.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_01]: How is everybody doing today?
- 1:08[SPEAKER_03]: I'm doing good, but I think we can all agree.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_03]: We're going to start with something on the episode that we can all agree with, because we may not agree the rest of the episode.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_03]: But we can we all agree that we hate taxes.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_03]: Can we all agree that?
- 1:19[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that's all I spent my morning doing is dealing with what I'm preparing to get been over in given.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_03]: I just wanted to start the episode with that.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_03]: That's what I had.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_00]: I had the right thing.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_01]: I know, we still have the right amount of love taxes.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_01]: You love taxes.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_01]: I love taxes.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_01]: I love taxes.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_02]: Big tax.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_02]: Big tax guy.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_02]: You call me this morning on the way in.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_02]: Said that wasn't in.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_02]: And I just I can't wait to pay taxes.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_02]: That's what we were talking about.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, where am I right now?
- 1:45[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_02]: You did it then.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_01]: So we're going to really find out Gary.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_01]: We're really going to find out Matt's value to this show.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_01]: mm-hmm with me hosting here.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_01]: He's gonna really earn his paycheck.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_03]: You know the show has more of a Howard Stern type field today with you behind the mic like leading it all.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_03]: It really does.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_03]: I think you got to bring your inner Howard Stern out today That's how we're gonna keep this fun.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_03]: Is that a comment?
- 2:08[SPEAKER_03]: Get in, they say
- 2:09[SPEAKER_03]: Didn't he have a Gary on the show?
- 2:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, you allowed to say the word though, because he was Gary the uh, the R. Yeah, yeah, it's not going to be that.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to love it a bit.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_02]: You could be that show for me.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_01]: So we that guy.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_01]: So let's start with a little round table.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_01]: Gary, what's up with you in your world?
- 2:25[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I just gave you a sneak preview of that.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_03]: Obviously, the end of an era for me here with my business sold up three and a half years ago, we're about to sell here again.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_03]: It appears it's almost certain that it'll close probably next week.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_03]: It looks like early half and next week.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_03]: So a lot of preparation on my end for that event and.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_03]: Preparing for life after that.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_03]: That's really what is going on in my world on a non hard front on a card front I have got my groove back Stella has got his groove back.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_03]: I am I am buying I have selectively sold a little stuff here there But I am charging up the batteries to go on straight since Matt Ham is not here.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_03]: I'll use the word ham mode
- 3:09[SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to straight hand mode here, the going for, because I'm looking forward to the episodes, the next three episodes, if we go that route of talking about the bilos undervaluids, guys to be had, because I mean, I feel like, and we're going to get to this here in a little bit with Poland, but I love where the market's sitting right now.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_03]: I feel like there's a lot of
- 3:31[SPEAKER_03]: to do the in the market, but also feel like it's not a weak market.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_03]: Like people are smart right now and what they're holding and selling, but it feels like there's gonna be a lot of pin up demand come this spring.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_03]: So that's what's going on.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_03]: Where I'm just getting excited about the pin up demand.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, give it like your, given that you're selling that last piece.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_01]: I sense a little splurge coming.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_03]: That could be a splurge are two here, little splurge.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_03]: We made a pretty good splurge last week with the Griffin purchase.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_03]: That was a pretty little splurge, but I am hoping for many more splurges in the months ahead.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_03]: I like to splurge too.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_03]: Is that how you doing then?
- 4:09[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I'm doing great.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_02]: I heard Gary was called Stella that made me happy because I thought it accurately depicted him.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_02]: I'm looking forward to some of these splurges coming my way because you know I'm buying a house and maybe Gary can buy my house.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_02]: Otherwise I just got back from D.C., my son is developing his cursing, which I'm not supposed to do, so I'm not going to
- 4:28[SPEAKER_02]: That's all I'm going to say about that business is picking up when you hit a three month Target in two months right now.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_02]: So we're trying to figure out what's going on here I'm running around like a chicken with that head on, but when you guys call come on I can't say no to Bubba to Matthew ham current because apparently you're Matthew ham today current
- 4:47[SPEAKER_02]: So we call you ham current today and they like kind of work the question for you.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_02]: So would you before you ask a question when you prefer ham current or CSK I mean we don't have listeners, but CSK Wow, okay, ham is not cold for that's true.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_01]: My question for you is who do you like more me or Gary now like who who who are you?
- 5:06[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I told Gary every time I talked to him now, I wasn't going to guilt him about not answering, but it's hard to say I tried calling Gary this morning to talk about some stuff.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_02]: He knows he saw the miss calls.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't get an answer.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_02]: So, current, you always answered for me, baby.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_02]: I would say I don't know.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_02]: I would say like a good parent.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to act as a good parent here.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_02]: I love you both the same, but differently.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_03]: Hey, um, CSK.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_03]: Do you have DC sports cards for number no, you may be I need to find it.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I thought I thought I was I thought I was I thought I was a guy for it.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_01]: Even Oh, I just got that.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, no, Gary is I'm a very little guy.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_02]: Gary unknown Gary longer, so he's been my main squeeze for a while But I guess no one Gary he's too busy dealing with the turnies and he's a pond current off on me.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_02]: I guess you know
- 5:54[SPEAKER_02]: You know, he's a big delegator and you know, current and I are just left in the mud in the mud.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_02]: Me and I got you playing in the mud together where we belong.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_01]: So, so let's switch gears here.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_01]: But, dude, we got to talk about the baseball market right now.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_01]: Because it's strong as hell still.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_01]: Like I thought it would die down a little bit at this point, but it's still strong.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, what do you, what do you see in Zach on your end if you say?
- 6:16[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of stuff is still like, it never really, okay.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously the Big O'Tonies had a little bit of an off-season dip because they all doubled over two weeks There has been struck out of the birds.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just gonna go off in this right now I got a lot of O'Tonies to make a lot of money on O'Tonie.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_02]: I had an orange.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_02]: I could have bought the super for 30k and I wanted to in 2018 I just didn't have the money then for it.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_02]: It was a lot of money for a car then
- 6:41[SPEAKER_02]: I was about 5k short of where I was 35 and I was, I don't know if I can go, I just decided to forget it.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_02]: I love Otoni.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_02]: I've always loved Otoni.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_02]: I've had some great flips of Otoni.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_02]: He's made me a ton of money outside of Ralecunia.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_02]: This is the premature thing that he's the best player ever who's driving me out of control.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_02]: It's just driving me crazy.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_02]: He's the best athlete in the world and the most famous athlete in the world right now, 100%.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_02]: But you know, because the whole thing people say, oh, he pitches too.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_02]: That's like the O is the argument they go for it.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_02]: But like.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_02]: And the world's series, he got rocked.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, starts.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_02]: They had to pull him.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but how could you not make the argument?
- 7:12[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I mean, so he's in the good number three starters.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_02]: So being a good number three starter makes you the best player ever.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_02]: He's not an ace.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he struck out 10 brewers.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_01]: What can be?
- 7:21[SPEAKER_01]: He can be an ace.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he's coming off Tommy Jones surgery.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_01]: He can be an ace.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_02]: Look at that, let's look at the rotation.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_02]: Could he touch Yamamoto as far as the picture goes?
- 7:29[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_01]: You can't compare them, but the drop-off between the two of them is not as big as you think, and Otani's also hitting 50 homers a year.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_01]: But is Otani the best hitter in the league?
- 7:39[SPEAKER_01]: Hitter or like, power hitter, what?
- 7:41[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I mean, I think, I think, I think Aaron judges, I think Aaron judges the best hitter in the league.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_02]: So he's not the best hitter, like he obviously, he's always going to be valuable, because he feels a rotation spot, he gave him 60 innings this year, sub 3-ERA, sub 1-Whip, I think, in 90-K's,
- 7:58[SPEAKER_02]: You know, they would kind of have all of this going to be.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_02]: They Bruce would have been a Hall of Fame picture.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_02]: Look at the stacks.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_02]: They wanted to play him every day.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_02]: He had the longest ever like I think squirrels and some crazy stuff.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_02]: Look at the stats.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_02]: Going to baseball rapid pages and look at everything that's black.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_02]: And you'll see what I'm talking about.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_02]: Babe Ruth literally led the league and everything all the time.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_02]: Now, you want to go with the argument that
- 8:17[SPEAKER_02]: There were people in throw, as hard as your people find.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_02]: But like using these same guys back then wouldn't be able to work out and become better.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_02]: Like why couldn't those guys be better?
- 8:25[SPEAKER_02]: When BABY was hit on runs for 60 to center off slow pitching, how much pop you have to have to do that?
- 8:29[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I don't know.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_02]: What did the wood bats then you think they were as good as now?
- 8:33[SPEAKER_02]: They were probably, uh...
- 8:35[SPEAKER_02]: They probably literally just chop the tree down.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_02]: And only you say best ever, I think you say best of a generation.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, Tony, maybe that, but it's a very bonds.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_03]: You think so?
- 8:44[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I do.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_03]: And I think so because with a Tony in this is what I always talk to, especially about a collectability for talking collecting.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_03]: If we're talking best baseball player ever played, I don't know.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I didn't get to see, I didn't get to see Baybury's play.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_03]: I didn't get to see a lot of those guys play, so it's hard for me to gauge that.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_01]: It's just a subjective question anyway, I mean, like everybody's going to have their own opinion.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_03]: But Otani, the thing that it makes him interesting to me is the stolen bases.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_03]: And what he's done with stolen bases, too, just like what the Cunia, when Cunia had the huge season, the 77d,
- 9:17[SPEAKER_03]: that to me, the stolen base in baseball and be able to have that guy that has power, speed, and then when you throw a Tony has the fact that he can also pitch, and he's won the world championships now to boot.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_03]: It's hard to deny.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, to obviously with Barry Bonds, I mean, we remember a period
- 9:41[SPEAKER_03]: You know, and then it became bonds, and I mean, bonds was unbelievable.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, Barry bonds to me may be had, and imagine the season's very bonds would have had if they didn't get walked all the time, right?
- 9:51[SPEAKER_03]: Well, we can have that same argument here in judge right now.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_03]: And what if Aaron judge didn't get walked all the time?
- 9:56[SPEAKER_03]: You know, so I mean, it's hard to say because there's so many what is in this subjectivity, but I mean, as far as collective ability in a guy, I think we can all agree on this is the, this is my episode for me today is going to be what we can all agree on this episode.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_03]: We can all agree that Shoe Hatane has done.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_03]: Shoe Hatane, Shoe Hatane, Shoe Hatane has done wonders for the Bowman market, for the baseball market.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, it's huge.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_02]: My point was he was only sworn to dip and I'm so tired of hearing that he's the best player ever.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think you can compare crutch generations.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_02]: You've arguments for and against for generations.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_02]: There was eight or 20.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_02]: So like, that mean they were better because it was only good teams you played against or your argument for Otani.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_02]: The league's integrated.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_02]: It wasn't back then.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_03]: But back to what is selling right now.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_03]: The back to the current.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_02]: I put that on hold and let's get back to you.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I'm going to say this right now and does a better job keeping this on point.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_02]: But he does.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_02]: That's why we hired him.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_02]: The market, you know, it's not doing well.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_02]: JJ McCarthy and Jayden Daniel's cards.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_02]: I can answer that.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_02]: Bow nicks cards are down, even though they're winning every game, so you have to notice something there.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_02]: Baseball is doing well.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_02]: That's not going down to offseason prices, which is interesting.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_02]: Outside of stuff that took crazy spikes, I'm sure you could find some good like Yamamoto Sasaki deals now.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_01]: So, what do you attribute the baseball not slowing down to?
- 11:17[SPEAKER_01]: Like, what do you attribute it to?
- 11:18[SPEAKER_02]: Probably Otsani, right?
- 11:20[SPEAKER_02]: The hype there, the wizard.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's like, people are in.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_02]: I think people are starting to see more uncapped upside and cards.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_02]: That was hard to say.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_02]: the ceiling has been raised.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not sure the floor's raised, so buyer beware always, but yeah.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_02]: What do you see?
- 11:36[SPEAKER_03]: I want to dive into this.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, this was a huge part of the topic for today for me as a health of the industry and health of baseball specifically.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_03]: I love trends.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_03]: You're looking at stocks.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_03]: You're looking at business in general.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_03]: I love trends.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_03]: This is a replica of a year ago.
- 11:50[SPEAKER_02]: I love looking at the right side of trends, Gary.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_03]: Well, you're on the right side of it, you're on the right side of a trend right now with baseball because you look at last year was the first time in many, many, many years that the trend was that baseball has always gone down, you know, you bought it if you you sold it in the spring, it was going to go down in the fall by the end of the summer everybody forgot about it football became king when how this interesting thing is happening with football.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_03]: football never really had this king moment this year.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_03]: Actually the spring and early summer was kind of like the boom and football like earlier it happened earlier and now and baseball It's never stopped like the market never has that one little low.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_03]: We had our first red and baseball right after the season for just a tick of a second and now when I go on to buy any card.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_03]: I used to be able to go on two years ago without competition this time of year literally without competition I could pick off cards at will now every single card that I can think of minus a couple guys that are out of favor like last night I bought a card that went crazy low I'll ain't no Santa and a red PSA 10 current and I thought about this morning.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_03]: I bought it for 980 It's just stupid those DC sports card had it listed somebody listed a right now
- 13:05[SPEAKER_03]: Somebody, yeah, it won't too low.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_03]: And it was an easy to low.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_02]: Interesting.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_03]: Well, why did it go too low, though?
- 13:12[SPEAKER_03]: If you, that's going to be my point.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_03]: So it's only the guys that are out of favor.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_01]: I was going to say, I mean, that's realistically, that's the price, it price it should sell for.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 13:23[SPEAKER_01]: Do I?
- 13:24[SPEAKER_01]: Like that, that's where it should be.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but a rent PSA 10 doesn't sell what it should for sell forever.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I mean.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I mean.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_01]: That's why it's the outlier and never sells for what it should anyway.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_01]: But that is like I feel like what it should sell for in the market.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_01]: Clearly on him, correct himself.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he was a DSL guy.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_02]: It came to the states and struggled, you know, what's like an orange ten-self or have any soul recently?
- 13:43[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_03]: I haven't never selling for significantly more than that.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I don't want to make it too much about my own business, but I think it also depends.
- 13:50[SPEAKER_02]: Really what Gary, I think is really saying, not just out of favorites, find the right place at the right time to buy it right now or anything, because people aren't going there looking for that card.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think that was that they boom in guys.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_01]: That's probably, that's probably the, this is probably the worst time to sell that specific card.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_02]: What do you guys think about Americans named O'Tani or Show Hay 20 years now?
- 14:11[SPEAKER_02]: How many kids are going to be named Show Hay or Time?
- 14:13[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's that kind of athlete.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_02]: He's going to
- 14:15[SPEAKER_02]: could see a lot of I could see a lot of first names being show.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, like you could see like like just got to be like a blast of Michaels and like Symbobway because of Michael Jordan.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_03]: Well, guys, if if someone started with the name show, then I'm going to if I this was my kid is first thing it would be show middle day would be me last day would be the money.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_03]: That would be his show me the money.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_03]: That's the only way you're going to get your kids show that you can do it.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_01]: So you don't think there's going to be
- 14:40[SPEAKER_01]: No, I don't, Gary, I don't, I don't think there's going to be a significant amount.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_03]: I meant, there's a lot, Gary, there's a lot of Michael Jordan's eyes.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_03]: How many Michael Jordan's do you see walking around?
- 14:50[SPEAKER_02]: I know Michael B. Jordan is a great actor.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_02]: Gary, it's a much bigger, more open world than you see down there in Georgia.
- 14:56[SPEAKER_02]: I'm telling you, there'll be showhays walking the streets in New York.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_02]: They will be.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_02]: That might that might be true, but yeah, you would love it here.
- 15:04[SPEAKER_02]: You would love it.
- 15:04[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_02]: A place 2000 square feet may be in probably paying five to eight million for it in the right building.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_02]: What do you think about it?
- 15:12[SPEAKER_03]: Don't you think that's something a great deal.
- 15:14[SPEAKER_02]: There'll be a lot of people around.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_02]: We'll be loud.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_02]: What do you think?
- 15:17[SPEAKER_02]: That's great.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_03]: We don't have the park.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_03]: this episode is going to be the episode that our fans are going to be like, dude, did y'all even talk about anything.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_03]: Like, every time we get going, that's what we're like.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_03]: Is that just keeps us off track here?
- 15:26[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, let's keep him on track.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_02]: You guys, you guys have, oh, okay, I don't have to be here, you know, you guys want me to go, I'll leave.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think that's very nice thing to do to continue this.
- 15:35[SPEAKER_03]: into this mid episode.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_03]: Let's get back to this and me.
- 15:38[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'll go.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_02]: You guys want to come here.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_02]: Here's a thing.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_02]: What do you guys think about this?
- 15:42[SPEAKER_02]: This is I have a sports carbulated question.
- 15:44[SPEAKER_02]: What do you think about Nick Kurtz next year?
- 15:47[SPEAKER_01]: Mm-hmm.
- 15:47[SPEAKER_01]: As far as as far as the ability you're just okay.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_01]: If I have Nick Kurtz right now, I'm selling, I think he's a stud.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's a stud.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's going to be extremely hard to replicate what he did.
- 16:01[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not saying it can't happen or won't happen, but I think it's going to be really hard to replicate what he did last year.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_01]: So, but I still love the guy as a player, you know, and I feel like right now, he's at his peak from a collectibility standpoint.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not saying that it'll be his forever peak, right?
- 16:20[SPEAKER_01]: But it's his peak thus far.
- 16:21[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't know, like, I'm very hesitant on buying him really high right now and expecting him to replicate what he did last year.
- 16:29[SPEAKER_01]: That's all I'm saying.
- 16:30[SPEAKER_03]: I got a fun answer to back to this, okay?
- 16:32[SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to ask a different question back is going to be the way that I handle your question here.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_03]: All right, here's the game, okay, y'all tell me where these people fit in this order.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, and how this and this is, and I wish I had a chart here to put on the screen.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, you got one of my options.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_02]: So you're good.
- 16:49[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, okay.
- 16:50[SPEAKER_03]: So we got a we got Ronald a Koon.
- 16:52[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, blue.
- 16:53[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, what's the current value of a Ronald a Koon you blew PS.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_02]: What's the current value of a Ronald a Koon you blew PS?
- 16:59[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, everything's okay.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_02]: I've K 400.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_02]: I guess eight for PS a tank.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_02]: nine five just over thirty five hundred each that was a step which is crazy to you get like aka them for you get the full double I would think you think a cool yeah this is a six yeah I'm against six k they are in a lot of fine c six bobby with junior blue he has it you see the quote someone had you know he isn't off your body one to silver slugger and the gold glove the platinum glove I thought it was funny what do you think is blues or what fix few say 10 six k aka
- 17:28[SPEAKER_03]: The they're like they're on the safe pushing almost 10.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_02]: They're still okay.
- 17:32[SPEAKER_02]: They didn't go down.
- 17:32[SPEAKER_03]: They're they're close to that.
- 17:33[SPEAKER_03]: They're close.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, all right.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_03]: Then you have Aaron judge PSA template.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_03]: What do you think that's work now?
- 17:39[SPEAKER_02]: I like your boy Gary.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_02]: I was I'm going to say higher than you.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm not saying you tell us you know the answer Gary.
- 17:44[SPEAKER_03]: No, I don't I'm just saying what are you.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_03]: We're just talking about using general.
- 17:47[SPEAKER_03]: What you all think they're worked right now currently just roughly.
- 17:49[SPEAKER_02]: This is tricky because there's only ninety nine of them.
- 17:52[SPEAKER_02]: I would say it's probably 20 grand.
- 17:53[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, twenty to twenty five.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_03]: That was good.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_03]: That's what I was going to say somewhere.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_02]: I just wanted to lower side of these guys, so I'm going to say 20.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_03]: They're going to go to show.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_03]: Hey, what is a show.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_03]: Hey, blue PSA 10.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_03]: Which one?
- 18:05[SPEAKER_03]: For some of you to get me done that.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_03]: Just give me a give me the roundabout of a blue value.
- 18:10[SPEAKER_03]: One salt for 118k over the weekend.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_02]: I was going to say right now probably 80k once under 18k Saturday, so, okay, we can just go somewhere.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to write these down, so we're, we're, we're Koenia, we're going to say if we just go for real value, if you haven't seen one selling a while, 3.5, but 9.5, we'll just say 6k and a PSA 10.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_03]: We're going to put somewhere around 10k.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe a little less than 10.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_03]: Judge.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_03]: We're going to say 20.
- 18:34[SPEAKER_03]: And then a tony.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_03]: We're going to put 80.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_03]: So there's four different levels of players.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_02]: How do we call it?
- 18:40[SPEAKER_02]: If the last show is 18.
- 18:41[SPEAKER_03]: Put it at 100.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_03]: Well, 100.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_03]: We'll put it at 100.
- 18:44[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 18:44[SPEAKER_03]: 100.
- 18:44[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_03]: So we've got those levels.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_03]: A KUNIA for 6,000.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_03]: or a show had tana today for a hundred dollars on a tonney you want to see it's not a tonney time neat there's no a tonney there you go a tonney a tonney a tonney so what's the question who you take the question is I just want to I'm just doing this for our listeners to do it for you guys
- 19:07[SPEAKER_03]: Because I, this hit me last night when I saw all that a koon you sell.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_03]: A koon user, one of Tony, or a koon you're first, okay, compared to a Tony at a hundred gay, judge at 20 gay.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_03]: Like I feel like judge at 20 is a steal.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_03]: I feel like that's a steal.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_03]: For where he is, where he's going in his career, being in New York, what he's doing now in B.P.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_03]: wise, I feel like he's a steal.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_03]: the pops probably very low to because people say we're talking about net courage where he fits in here net curve PSA 10 3500 okay so we want to talk about how he fits the kind of player he could be you look at Freddie Freeman an orange last night sold for eight thousand and nine five
- 19:44[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, so put to the blue.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, put to the blues probably want to 500 degree.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, they can 30, 500 PS.
- 19:51[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 19:51[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, 300 is PSA 10.
- 19:53[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe for this.
- 19:54[SPEAKER_02]: We'll probably go close to the five because the pops can be very low.
- 19:57[SPEAKER_03]: So we're talking about him compared to Nick Kerch.
- 19:59[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 20:00[SPEAKER_03]: So Nick Kerch and Freddie Freeman are about the same cost as far as their blues are concerned.
- 20:05[SPEAKER_03]: But the orange is,
- 20:06[SPEAKER_03]: Nick Kirk's only in people who are asking 20,000, right?
- 20:09[SPEAKER_03]: So he's almost valued more than Freddie Freeman already this morning in his career.
- 20:13[SPEAKER_03]: So we're looking at Nick Kirk's, whether it's a buyer or a sell, is he going to be a better player in his career than Freddie Freeman?
- 20:20[SPEAKER_03]: And the chances are very low of that.
- 20:23[SPEAKER_03]: You could have absolutely, but the chances are extremely low.
- 20:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but that's not going to correlate to his card sales necessarily.
- 20:30[SPEAKER_02]: It's also because I think about when Freddie started, he started to get out and ate the mark was much smaller.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think at the end of the day, it's going to matter at the starting point because at the end of the net curts and 10 years around the same conversation.
- 20:45[SPEAKER_01]: I think it will just because it's going to have a floor to it.
- 20:49[SPEAKER_01]: You know, the starting point is going to give it its floor for collectors that they're, you know, at their, at their original.
- 20:54[SPEAKER_03]: Let me, let me, let me be dealt with.
- 20:56[SPEAKER_03]: I've got 40 years from now.
- 20:58[SPEAKER_03]: But you can just get 70, right now we're all in our 70s and 80s.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_03]: We're going to look back as Freddie Freeman a guy you're going to have in the box.
- 21:04[SPEAKER_03]: Absolutely is.
- 21:05[SPEAKER_03]: Let's say Nick Kurtz is right there with him on a career.
- 21:07[SPEAKER_03]: Are those going to be value differently 40 years from now?
- 21:11[SPEAKER_03]: They both have some mercury because of when they started in the process.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_02]: It's a question
- 21:16[SPEAKER_02]: the price has to do with hype and gambling or the value in the market for you here in 40 years though.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_02]: Why it's so different right now because that I mean that's what it is.
- 21:27[SPEAKER_02]: I will say this and this is I think Nick Kurtz and 80 games and more home runs in a season in the Freddie free man ever has.
- 21:32[SPEAKER_02]: Granity played in the A's ballpark, which is a high school ballpark.
- 21:36[SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to that field in Sacramento is small.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's to hype.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_02]: I think more interesting, free up Freddy Freeman.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_02]: I think Freddy Freeman's like establishes what he is.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_02]: Freddy Freeman also is not going to go down.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_02]: It is where it is.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_02]: I think talking to Koon.
- 21:49[SPEAKER_02]: I think talking to Judge is like the potential and like how far and how hard would be for Nick Hertz to be Judge.
- 21:55[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, no one's going to be I think with Kurt's I think Kurt's is an interesting study because I think he is I think if you were really nice one I guess holding makes a little bit of sense if you think he's going to be amazing because those are cards that the market can't
- 22:10[SPEAKER_02]: You know, other people can't lower the market by selling panic-wise, but I think it might be a great opportunity to sell.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_02]: I in early next season, because if you think he's going to be a good guy, and just basically get free money.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_02]: Like, hey, you got a blue, you got 35 grand, 3500, and then you can buy it for 1,700, 2 months into the season.
- 22:26[SPEAKER_02]: If he's just okay, you know that upside still there.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, that's how I see the Kurds play, for some way.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_01]: Gary, what is a junior camin' arrow, the lieutenant, do you know?
- 22:34[SPEAKER_01]: The little, it's a little.
- 22:35[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I should, I just bought a gold tin that I texted you about and you said you weren't interested by the way, it was crazy.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_03]: I'm that $5,000 for a gold junior came in here.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_02]: Go to Campanero here.
- 22:46[SPEAKER_02]: Who always wants it on junior?
- 22:47[SPEAKER_02]: You didn't call me.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_02]: This is the party.
- 22:50[SPEAKER_02]: Harry, this is the problem.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_02]: I call you.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_03]: I just texted him.
- 22:55[SPEAKER_03]: All right.
- 22:55[SPEAKER_03]: So, but Campanero is probably what?
- 22:57[SPEAKER_03]: 1500 bucks now at this point.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 23:00[SPEAKER_02]: 800.
- 23:00[SPEAKER_02]: Not enough.
- 23:01[SPEAKER_03]: So, it's.
- 23:02[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I mean, so it's a connier though.
- 23:03[SPEAKER_03]: That's my point.
- 23:04[SPEAKER_03]: When you look at these guys,
- 23:06[SPEAKER_03]: Could came a narrow be close to an Aaron judge level one day judges to cheap for when he is compared to a tonne Oh, honey.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, tonne Well, it's in Cheney or do.
- 23:17[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, tonney.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_02]: This is crazy.
- 23:19[SPEAKER_02]: Judge those crazy though because like none of these guys can reach judge level come on He's a unicorn as well.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_03]: He's just being dude.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I'm just selling you right now though.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I can just not roll a kuna He wouldn't judge in my opinion Aaron judge will be 50.
- 23:34[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, I will back back in the end
- 23:36[SPEAKER_03]: This is the dip.
- 23:38[SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to buy Aaron judge again.
- 23:40[SPEAKER_03]: I'm going around too.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_03]: I'm telling you he's too cheap.
- 23:43[SPEAKER_02]: If the Otani, if it's a real market at that.
- 23:45[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not just saying someone didn't pay for it or they're not
- 23:48[SPEAKER_02]: paying for because they have others like if there's a real demand at a hundred k or hundred twenty k or hundred fifty k for Blue Otani color match that he's double the blue it's just three times the blues it's judge he is two hundred fifty so three hundred judges ninety nine why is judge not fifty k why it should be like why I get it he has a one-on-one series in New York but guess what a lot of these guys we're talking about have a one chip they want anything
- 24:11[SPEAKER_02]: Nick Curry.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_03]: If Judge wins the world series.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_03]: This is another question.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_03]: One to double that.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_03]: Here.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_03]: Judge wins the world series.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_03]: He wins MVP in the same season.
- 24:21[SPEAKER_03]: What does his prices go to in that season?
- 24:23[SPEAKER_02]: And you also pin that season double.
- 24:25[SPEAKER_02]: That season is going to be slow.
- 24:26[SPEAKER_02]: The next season the following season.
- 24:29[SPEAKER_02]: It'll be yeah double.
- 24:30[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he could easily double anyway, right?
- 24:33[SPEAKER_02]: Because look at what we're talking about.
- 24:34[SPEAKER_02]: Forget you and do anything.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_02]: because like, again, if a judge blew PSA 10 is 20, 25 grand, you know, Tony is 120, like, yes, Otani's better, Otani has the hype treat is most famous at the end of the world, and that matters a lot.
- 24:45[SPEAKER_02]: But shouldn't judge at least be half?
- 24:47[SPEAKER_02]: We're not talking about like being the same.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_02]: You know, we're being modest there.
- 24:50[SPEAKER_02]: We're being modest putting him at half.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_03]: And I'm going to go back to my boy Ronald Acunia because we're skipping this, he's the most undervalued card in my opinion for a superstar on the market.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_02]: You know he's my favorite player because I he's the one that made me the most money out of anyone gambling on him and being right.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_02]: Red.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_02]: I love him.
- 25:11[SPEAKER_02]: I still, Gary.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_02]: I still have a red.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_02]: So does current.
- 25:14[SPEAKER_02]: So do I.
- 25:14[SPEAKER_02]: You still have one too.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_01]: We have three of the five reds.
- 25:19[SPEAKER_02]: We're the red man, huh?
- 25:20[SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_01]: I do want to ask that question.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_01]: I want to touch on your thoughts on on tonight.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think they were really ready to
- 25:30[SPEAKER_02]: uh... to go in that undertaking i i think that might have been a mistake it seems like from the things they've been read and i'm sure not all trope for some of it is people shouldn't be able to get into your back and in exposed bitters and assumption in such a private marketplace right the market in general like like i buy a lot and i said i don't like people know what i don't say they don't want people to bother me that's the real reason because like i like to be in control for one that's a huge mistake to me too i mean they folded within like a week of starting that's not a great
- 26:00[SPEAKER_01]: uh... book could you do you understand the situation though like i i personally i haven't understood it like completely so i'd like layman's terms if you understand it could you explain layman's terms that right like let me say the access that on the back end like what what what what did they specifically do people were able to find out
- 26:16[SPEAKER_02]: to see bidders on items and the email, because as they were linked to, I think some of that might not have actually been getting on stuff.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_02]: I think some of that was in their testing phase.
- 26:26[SPEAKER_02]: To be honest, I don't have an eight knowledge.
- 26:28[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just guessing some of it probably was.
- 26:30[SPEAKER_02]: I think they had, I know,
- 26:32[SPEAKER_02]: that there was problems bidding on the first close like I tried to bid and I couldn't bid so the server was also crashed that also happened I don't so those were the two big things I think and then people basically that thought they got good deals then we're told that the items were going to get relisted because nothing worked right so like there's like there's like proof that there's something going on with bidding whether they were shield bidding like then generally right whether there might be some chilling there might be some test bids you how do you separate the two without knowledge
- 27:00[SPEAKER_02]: Of course, everyone's mind's going to go to Shilling, including mine.
- 27:03[SPEAKER_02]: So that, right, so that happened.
- 27:05[SPEAKER_02]: And then the people who got deals, we're told that the server broke and everything wasn't working correctly.
- 27:10[SPEAKER_02]: So, I don't know.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_03]: We'd say with the last hour.
- 27:13[SPEAKER_03]: Here's what's interesting.
- 27:14[SPEAKER_03]: And all of a sudden, I asked a separate question for you now.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_03]: So that orange Freeman last night was on Probstaine.
- 27:21[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not going to lie that it stopped me from even going after it because I said, you know, what, what am I even bitting against here?
- 27:31[SPEAKER_03]: I didn't even go after it.
- 27:32[SPEAKER_03]: And I'm just curious now with people that are out there.
- 27:35[SPEAKER_03]: I'll just ask you the question because I know it's a hard question to ask you, Zach, being a competitor.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_03]: But Kern, does it affect you when you see a card going
- 27:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, look, it's in the back of my mind regardless of who's selling it, but I think it's a little more front center in my mind right now when I see pro obscene selling it, although right now you could make the argument that like it might be cleaner than ever to bid on their cars because of the whole controversy and scandal that like, you know, like I would like to think that they're going to clean up their act and right now would be the time that that happens, but.
- 28:10[SPEAKER_03]: No, separate question.
- 28:11[SPEAKER_03]: If you're a consigner, I'd be scared shitless to consign with them because yeah, I don't know.
- 28:15[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so I can that that is more of an effect.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just so it's like I guess I didn't give his aggressive as an answer is expected knowing me because like it's been allegations against them forever.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_02]: Like people, but always said that probe scene options are shield.
- 28:31[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, as a consider like.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_02]: It's generally the designer who can sign E who does it, not the auction house.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm in a little different boat there.
- 28:38[SPEAKER_02]: I see it from a different angle, but I definitely, like I'm pretty sure it's about trust, right?
- 28:44[SPEAKER_02]: When you can sign with someone, I feel like the work can sign almost means trust.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_02]: And if they launched this new website,
- 28:50[SPEAKER_02]: And you see all this, like, something's going on with the bidding.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_02]: And even if it is all test bidding or whatever, they never came out with the thing to explain.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_02]: But I would guess that's what happened.
- 29:00[SPEAKER_02]: You've got a website, there's bugs.
- 29:01[SPEAKER_02]: Even if it is all that, you don't have enough security to protect your website.
- 29:04[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I'm selling stuff with you.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_02]: Like, how do I trust that there?
- 29:06[SPEAKER_02]: And then anyone who got steals had stuff end because of malfunctioned in the website.
- 29:11[SPEAKER_02]: So again, I don't trust them again.
- 29:13[SPEAKER_02]: Another way not to trust them because I see the shell stuff.
- 29:17[SPEAKER_02]: And then the things I thought I got good deals on, I don't get because the website doesn't work.
- 29:20[SPEAKER_02]: It's like home.
- 29:21[SPEAKER_02]: It feels like you're getting it from both sides.
- 29:23[SPEAKER_02]: Like as far as trust goes, trust also has to do with security.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_02]: There's all things that do with trust.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_02]: So the identities of bidders are not being kept.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_02]: Secure and then seeing the list of bidders you're seeing like whether it's a test fate you they didn't explain any of it Why were they testing bidding which you know I've now created two websites for my company like you do a lot of testing We're not selling stuff on the website, so there's no mid-testing, but like maybe there was beta tests Maybe people were testing bids did not have that security and then
- 29:50[SPEAKER_02]: when you think you're getting a steal on the website, you're then being told that the website doesn't work.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_02]: So you can't trust them on either side.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_02]: You just feel like you're getting it from both ends.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_02]: So they've eroded a ton of trust.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_02]: And then to come back to eBay so quickly, is almost an admission of guilt in my opinion.
- 30:05[SPEAKER_02]: Like, hey, we did this wrong.
- 30:06[SPEAKER_02]: You know, like, I'm sure they spent a lot of money on that.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_02]: And put a lot of resources.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_03]: How much do you, how much do you think he lost on this whole deal?
- 30:13[SPEAKER_02]: We've been working on it for a long time.
- 30:15[SPEAKER_02]: I would say it's, I think it's a seven figure loss.
- 30:18[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I don't know.
- 30:18[SPEAKER_02]: And that doesn't even take away like the opportunity cost losses, because now, like people always thought he showed, but he had a big, big market share anyway.
- 30:25[SPEAKER_02]: He's been the longest active concern on eBay.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_02]: I know him personally did business with him.
- 30:29[SPEAKER_02]: Like, you know, like, I met him.
- 30:31[SPEAKER_02]: National stuff like that.
- 30:32[SPEAKER_02]: He's not a bad guy.
- 30:33[SPEAKER_02]: He's a good guy.
- 30:33[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's like a really...
- 30:35[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he's a nice guy, he knows like, you know, he's also into the hobby.
- 30:40[SPEAKER_02]: He's known about it.
- 30:41[SPEAKER_02]: He's a giant spam, you know, we're talking about quarterback back in the day.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_02]: I would say the opportunity class loss is huge too, because like you were just saying, I'm not bidding on an item there, and if you want to consign cards, right?
- 30:51[SPEAKER_02]: And his model was always the highest payouts.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_02]: If you didn't have a website really, you got spreadsheets in the mail.
- 30:56[SPEAKER_02]: They just win fast and you got the highest pads.
- 30:59[SPEAKER_02]: So his customers are shopping for rate.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_02]: You know, they just want the best deal.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_02]: So I don't see why they would go back.
- 31:05[SPEAKER_02]: Even if you get the best rate when that realization is going to be bad.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_02]: Because of the marketplace, you just care about the number.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I don't know.
- 31:11[SPEAKER_02]: I think the opportunity cost loss was huge too.
- 31:13[SPEAKER_02]: I'll be millions there because I think it's a million.
- 31:17[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know if this is a good term time to ask, but I would love to know, it current if this is not the right time to ask, then that's fine.
- 31:23[SPEAKER_03]: But I would love to know Zack.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_03]: And I'm just always been curious about this.
- 31:26[SPEAKER_03]: And then we've talked about it for just a second.
- 31:28[SPEAKER_03]: But how did, and we're talking about probe steam and him becoming a conciender, how did you become a conciender?
- 31:35[SPEAKER_03]: How did you get into this business?
- 31:37[SPEAKER_03]: Like, what's you in Josh's story?
- 31:38[SPEAKER_03]: I think our listeners would be curious with that.
- 31:40[SPEAKER_03]: Can you give us a short and version, cliff notes version?
- 31:44[SPEAKER_03]: How did you get in to be a designer?
- 31:47[SPEAKER_02]: Are you bringing me on one day to discussing depth?
- 31:50[SPEAKER_02]: So this is the T's.
- 31:51[SPEAKER_02]: OK.
- 31:51[SPEAKER_02]: So I figured we wanted to partner with eBay in a way.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_02]: Josh, we think I means we would ever.
- 31:57[SPEAKER_02]: Both of us.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_02]: If I'm talking, but like, so we started listing tons of options every day.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_02]: Because we figured that was something that was scalable.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_02]: Buying some collections is great, but like, Josh had a kid.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to have kids.
- 32:08[SPEAKER_02]: I want to have a life.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_02]: You can't just go to every show and you can, but not if you're like, yeah, you can't.
- 32:14[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, you can do anything.
- 32:15[SPEAKER_02]: But what's scalable?
- 32:16[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, we were doing grading services for people.
- 32:18[SPEAKER_02]: Insigning, that's scalable.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_02]: We can hire staff to do that.
- 32:21[SPEAKER_02]: You don't have to worry about them paying the wrong numbers.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_02]: So basically, we just started listing the ton on eBay and we were
- 32:28[SPEAKER_02]: It's just on stuff from blowout cards, honestly.
- 32:30[SPEAKER_02]: And then once we build up our eBay presence big enough on all of our own stuff, we figured we could scale that and use those people to sell other people's stuff, mitigate our risks and also, again, like it's not even buying a collection, when you pay 70%, and it's a $10,000 collection, when you pay 7,000, you're still gambling.
- 32:48[SPEAKER_02]: And it's still like hustling in a different way.
- 32:51[SPEAKER_02]: This way we could multiply the hustle.
- 32:54[SPEAKER_02]: is the way I would think about it versus just the work of two men.
- 32:56[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, make a sense.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_02]: Makes sense.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_02]: That's what I answer.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_02]: There's short answer for me.
- 32:59[SPEAKER_02]: Still two paragraphs.
- 33:00[SPEAKER_02]: You're welcome.
- 33:02[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I wanted to get back to to snipe for one second when you saw that that was originally coming out that probes he was leaving eBay creating Stipe was that like from a business standpoint was that did you see that as a good thing to gain market share from you big Conscience or did you see it as more of a threat that people leave eBay like what we're like I mean we saw I mean we saw that we saw this a great opportunity
- 33:28[SPEAKER_02]: because like even if it becomes something great it was going to take a little while.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_02]: So there's people that are going to use eBay.
- 33:34[SPEAKER_02]: There's people that are going to want to use eBay.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, what do you think?
- 33:37[SPEAKER_02]: I think a lot of percentages sales is doing with marketing eBay is the best market company there is when it comes to this stuff.
- 33:41[SPEAKER_02]: It's the easiest place to search.
- 33:43[SPEAKER_02]: Even people like all to try to make it so you can search and then like you don't find different platforms.
- 33:47[SPEAKER_02]: No one does that.
- 33:48[SPEAKER_02]: No one uses that.
- 33:49[SPEAKER_02]: So I was excited.
- 33:50[SPEAKER_02]: But we were excited and
- 33:52[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, we're on pace for our best quarter since 2022.
- 33:55[SPEAKER_02]: I can tell you that much, you know what, what person is baseball and this is generally the worst quarter of the year for us.
- 34:01[SPEAKER_02]: What percentage of that is baseball?
- 34:02[SPEAKER_02]: I'll be like 40-ish percent.
- 34:04[SPEAKER_02]: Which is good.
- 34:04[SPEAKER_02]: You got to consider all the TCG stuff we do too because it's on of that and you can ask me it's another language to me.
- 34:10[SPEAKER_02]: I don't understand it.
- 34:11[SPEAKER_02]: So I can't tell you, but like they're trying to that.
- 34:13[SPEAKER_01]: So you know what I haven't seen and I haven't heard much about it, but we talked about this last time you were on the extended bidding on eBay.
- 34:20[SPEAKER_01]: What's up with that?
- 34:21[SPEAKER_01]: Do you know anything?
- 34:22[SPEAKER_02]: They're still working on it.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_02]: We'll be in.
- 34:24[SPEAKER_02]: We'll be active.
- 34:26[SPEAKER_02]: You know, it's a good question.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_02]: I can't like say details, but we in some meetings talk with them about it like a couple months, right after the national.
- 34:34[SPEAKER_02]: So there should be more progress on that.
- 34:36[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 34:36[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, the other thing I thought about was, like, I interestingly, I thought it was going to be a great place to buy stuff.
- 34:40[SPEAKER_02]: for a little while.
- 34:41[SPEAKER_02]: So I was looking for it.
- 34:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 34:42[SPEAKER_02]: You need to pick up too.
- 34:43[SPEAKER_02]: Good stuff.
- 34:44[SPEAKER_02]: I thought it and I was also interested in an outlet as far as like if you really built it up for being for like really high end stuff too.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_02]: I could see that too in really well there.
- 34:52[SPEAKER_02]: But like the average 100 to $10,000 stuff is always going to do worse outside of eBay in my opinion.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_02]: So I thought there'd be a ton of opportunity there, too.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe pick up a blue Freddy Freeman, you know, or an orange.
- 35:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I, I, I, I was thinking the same thing myself and the people that consigned for those first options, I was like, how, like, why?
- 35:10[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 35:11[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I wouldn't want to take that risk.
- 35:12[SPEAKER_01]: I wouldn't want to take that risk.
- 35:13[SPEAKER_01]: I wouldn't want to take that guy.
- 35:14[UNKNOWN]: You know, no.
- 35:15[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, like when you want to even take the risk to list on all, I mean, you know that I mean, how many eyes real let's declare on all doxions being honestly, I mean, it's it shows you it tells you the number of views like on each listing when you are there compared to eBay though compared to you better compared to fanatics, I mean, it's way down.
- 35:32[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, even gold, and I think at this point, when you look at the sales, I mean, gold into me, and that's another topic of conversation, gold into me is a clear number three now.
- 35:42[SPEAKER_03]: Clear behind eBay and fanatics.
- 35:44[SPEAKER_03]: It's not even like golden to me at one point.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_03]: It was like, man, if I have a high end card, I want to bring it there.
- 35:49[SPEAKER_03]: I just don't see it that anymore.
- 35:51[SPEAKER_03]: I don't see it that way.
- 35:52[SPEAKER_02]: I think gold is better than fanatics.
- 35:54[SPEAKER_02]: Reluctive for high end chrome.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_01]: Interesting.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I don't.
- 35:57[SPEAKER_01]: Here's my take on that.
- 35:59[SPEAKER_01]: I think people have this idea that Golden is because of all the cards that have run in the past, because of their Netflix show and all the sexiness that goes along with it.
- 36:08[SPEAKER_01]: And I think they draw like a big international market.
- 36:12[SPEAKER_01]: And I think they do most of the time, depending on the card, there's golden cards.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_01]: You're not going to put a big prospect, baseball prospect on golden that night, not necessarily have that national name, because they're going to get crushed, right?
- 36:24[SPEAKER_01]: But they do do strong numbers.
- 36:28[SPEAKER_01]: really would consider putting anything on golden is their customer service.
- 36:33[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry, it's complete shit.
- 36:34[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I have a pretty good collection from a Bowman standpoint, baseball standpoint, and pretty early on, like, I've tried to reach out to people, to like, kind of scuss, like, what kind of points I can get and consigning with them, and like, I couldn't fucking get an answer from anybody, like, to even have a conversation with.
- 36:53[SPEAKER_01]: So, I mean, it's pretty pathetic.
- 36:55[SPEAKER_01]: Like, it's pathetic.
- 36:56[SPEAKER_01]: And so, that's where I think they struggle.
- 36:58[SPEAKER_01]: I think it should be struggle with customer service.
- 37:00[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not saying from a card standpoint.
- 37:02[SPEAKER_01]: But like, they're losing a customer, like myself and probably other people that they don't give a time to day do because they might be too busy worrying about something else in their show.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_03]: To your point, to your point, to your point, hit the nail in the head.
- 37:15[SPEAKER_03]: I've done millions of dollars of consignment with them.
- 37:18[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, and I had a rep that was my rep there, but that was my relationship was the rep. That rep has left them probably a year and a half ago.
- 37:28[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe two years ago.
- 37:29[SPEAKER_03]: And I have not received a single phone call from another person that company to get.
- 37:32[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, where are you?
- 37:33[SPEAKER_03]: What about that couple?
- 37:34[SPEAKER_03]: What about that couple of million dollars of consignment you've done with us?
- 37:37[SPEAKER_03]: received zero phone calls, zero emails, zero anything.
- 37:41[SPEAKER_03]: They've just let that customer me go.
- 37:43[SPEAKER_03]: It's like, hey, I love my voice.
- 37:45[SPEAKER_01]: Why do I do it?
- 37:45[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't matter.
- 37:46[SPEAKER_01]: Show me.
- 37:47[SPEAKER_01]: Show me that you don't give a shit about your customer by letting a, you know, uh, come on.
- 37:53[SPEAKER_01]: I can sign millions of dollars.
- 37:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 37:55[SPEAKER_01]: That's crazy dude.
- 37:56[SPEAKER_01]: Crazy to me.
- 37:57[SPEAKER_03]: Well, that's I think we nailed it there.
- 37:59[SPEAKER_03]: I got four different, I got four different sections of the hobby here.
- 38:03[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, we're going to play what y'all named this game here got four different numbers and I want y'all to tell me in the last 30 days which one of these okay the first there's four different one here's the topics basketball football Pokemon in baseball okay last 30 days in the market the number one
- 38:20[SPEAKER_03]: Current leader in market trends in the last 30 days.
- 38:25[SPEAKER_03]: Is that 2.9% up?
- 38:27[SPEAKER_03]: Is that football?
- 38:28[SPEAKER_03]: Is that basketball?
- 38:29[SPEAKER_03]: Is that Pokemon?
- 38:30[SPEAKER_03]: Is that baseball baseball?
- 38:32[SPEAKER_03]: Pokemon baseball.
- 38:33[SPEAKER_03]: 2.9% up.
- 38:34[SPEAKER_03]: So it's their leading in second.
- 38:36[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 38:37[SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to give you second is 1.7% up.
- 38:40[SPEAKER_03]: What is second place?
- 38:41[SPEAKER_03]: I got to think of Pokemon because I took them once.
- 38:43[SPEAKER_03]: Basketball.
- 38:44[SPEAKER_03]: Basketball.
- 38:44[SPEAKER_03]: 1.7%.
- 38:45[SPEAKER_03]: What am I even here for?
- 38:47[SPEAKER_03]: You guys don't worry.
- 38:49[SPEAKER_03]: third, third one, last 30 days, down 1.1%.
- 38:53[SPEAKER_02]: It is sales are grading.
- 38:56[SPEAKER_02]: What are we talking about?
- 38:57[SPEAKER_03]: Part of this is total, percent of the market and it's sales, like the value of their car.
- 39:01[SPEAKER_03]: I think it went up or down.
- 39:02[SPEAKER_03]: Pokemon.
- 39:03[SPEAKER_02]: Pokemon.
- 39:04[SPEAKER_02]: I got to get it right once.
- 39:05[SPEAKER_03]: Football.
- 39:05[SPEAKER_03]: 1.1%.
- 39:07[SPEAKER_03]: Pokemon in the last 30 days is down 2.4%.
- 39:10[SPEAKER_03]: And it is historically all year been flying.
- 39:13[SPEAKER_00]: Pokemon is all the same thing to do.
- 39:15[SPEAKER_03]: But look at that with baseball in the last 90 days.
- 39:20[SPEAKER_03]: baseball's up 8.9%.
- 39:22[SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to do that.
- 39:23[SPEAKER_02]: You think it's the Otani spike?
- 39:25[SPEAKER_03]: I'm telling you right now, it's probably a decent percentage of that.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_01]: But I waste that 30.
- 39:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 39:31[SPEAKER_03]: You're passing 30 days.
- 39:32[SPEAKER_03]: But he's not even on the top.
- 39:34[SPEAKER_03]: You look at the top risers right now in baseball.
- 39:36[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 39:37[SPEAKER_03]: Top risers in baseball right now.
- 39:39[SPEAKER_03]: He's not even on that list in the last 30 days.
- 39:41[SPEAKER_02]: Because he's already come and gone.
- 39:42[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_02]: Because he dropped 30 days.
- 39:44[SPEAKER_02]: Think about it.
- 39:45[SPEAKER_03]: The number one on the list, who's number one on the baseball rising list right now?
- 39:49[SPEAKER_03]: Up six percent.
- 39:50[SPEAKER_02]: I think we're all last 30.
- 39:51[SPEAKER_02]: Are we all gonna like this name?
- 39:52[SPEAKER_02]: Are we all gonna like this name or no?
- 39:54[SPEAKER_03]: Here, I'm gonna go 30 days.
- 39:54[SPEAKER_03]: We're gonna go 30 days.
- 39:55[SPEAKER_03]: Last 30 days.
- 39:56[SPEAKER_03]: Number one on the list up 40 percent.
- 39:59[SPEAKER_03]: You spoke about them earlier.
- 40:00[SPEAKER_03]: You spoke about them earlier on the show.
- 40:02[SPEAKER_02]: Is it our voice?
- 40:03[SPEAKER_02]: Is it our voice?
- 40:04[SPEAKER_02]: It's Kurtz?
- 40:05[SPEAKER_02]: Or is our voice Connor?
- 40:06[SPEAKER_03]: Yamamoto.
- 40:07[SPEAKER_02]: Yamamoto.
- 40:08[SPEAKER_02]: Yamagoto.
- 40:08[SPEAKER_02]: That's his new name, bro.
- 40:09[SPEAKER_02]: Get it right.
- 40:10[SPEAKER_03]: Guess who's second on the list.
- 40:12[SPEAKER_02]: It was a hint.
- 40:13[SPEAKER_03]: Scoobable?
- 40:14[SPEAKER_03]: No.
- 40:14[SPEAKER_03]: Clayton Kershaw.
- 40:16[SPEAKER_02]: Paul Scenes.
- 40:17[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 40:18[SPEAKER_03]: 11.89% Paul Scenes.
- 40:20[SPEAKER_02]: We're better than that.
- 40:20[SPEAKER_02]: We're better than that.
- 40:21[SPEAKER_02]: Let's go.
- 40:22[SPEAKER_03]: Now we'll continue on nonetheless.
- 40:23[SPEAKER_03]: I'll just give it to you.
- 40:24[SPEAKER_03]: Show, hey, 11.6.
- 40:25[SPEAKER_02]: No, we got to guess.
- 40:26[SPEAKER_02]: We got to guess.
- 40:27[SPEAKER_02]: It's more fun.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_02]: Give us one more to guess.
- 40:29[SPEAKER_02]: After Oatami.
- 40:29[SPEAKER_03]: Who's next?
- 40:30[SPEAKER_03]: Well, the next guy fourth is an old guy.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_03]: You're not going to get cow rips in junior for whatever reasons of 9.86%.
- 40:36[SPEAKER_03]: By second.
- 40:36[SPEAKER_01]: It's because it's because it's cuz mad hand, but like 10, 500 dollar roways.
- 40:43[SPEAKER_03]: All right, fifth on the list up 9.15% let y'all guess this one.
- 40:46[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, we're not 30 days.
- 40:48[SPEAKER_03]: Bro, not a single minor guy on the list right now.
- 40:50[SPEAKER_02]: Pro up 9.5% our boy judge.
- 40:53[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, that's sad.
- 40:54[SPEAKER_03]: And that's a guess.
- 40:56[SPEAKER_02]: We haven't talked about him yet.
- 40:57[SPEAKER_03]: He played in the way he was in the world series.
- 40:59[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, buddy.
- 41:00[SPEAKER_03]: Yep, Vlad.
- 41:01[SPEAKER_03]: Vlad the impeller.
- 41:02[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, Vlad the impeller.
- 41:03[SPEAKER_03]: Just for shits and giggles conversation here.
- 41:06[SPEAKER_03]: Aaron judge last 30 days is up 6.5% in the last 30 days.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_03]: So is this your any good be fair to last year compared to last last 30 days his markets up.
- 41:18[SPEAKER_01]: It probably like the total sale.
- 41:20[SPEAKER_01]: I got you.
- 41:20[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 41:21[SPEAKER_03]: And then we go to let's go to my boy, Akhenia, just out of curiosity.
- 41:24[SPEAKER_03]: You believe Akhenia is up last 30 days or down.
- 41:28[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to go with down because it makes for a better story.
- 41:31[SPEAKER_03]: He's up in the last 30 days, 5.2% but he is only up in the last 90 point eight.
- 41:39[SPEAKER_03]: He's basically flat.
- 41:40[SPEAKER_02]: What's interesting, everyone in business goes back to what you're saying before, everyone's up and baseball the last 30 days, which doesn't make any sense.
- 41:46[SPEAKER_03]: Now, where's James?
- 41:47[SPEAKER_03]: What is James?
- 41:48[SPEAKER_03]: Where's James?
- 41:48[SPEAKER_03]: It's a brave new world.
- 41:50[SPEAKER_03]: Nick Nick Kurtz.
- 41:51[SPEAKER_03]: Just so because I already had his name there, last 30 days, down 1.2%.
- 41:54[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah, I guess, you know, the market speaks for itself here, you know?
- 41:59[SPEAKER_03]: James Woods definitely gonna be to tell you the other guy that's gonna be down because I got hit up with him yesterday The guest the card that's trying to come home But I'm thinking about making a run at it.
- 42:08[SPEAKER_03]: I have to get it done now before this the show goes a lot No, but I was a good one to a good guest Let's show our Armstrong red got a guy hit me up yesterday until you want it back and let's say yeah He's a well, that's a thing as I'm saying I mean he's I'm like it's not worth anywhere near what you bought it for and so You know, I was starting to the root to start to come home there
- 42:29[SPEAKER_03]: You've got a James wood James wood is down 2.2% in the last 30 days.
- 42:35[SPEAKER_03]: He's a very unfortunate last night.
- 42:36[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, you were not talking James, what we have enough, we have enough best of interest.
- 42:40[SPEAKER_03]: You've got James, James, James wood.
- 42:42[SPEAKER_03]: I'm calling it right now.
- 42:43[SPEAKER_03]: James wood, all you people that are sleeping on James wood, you got to record it.
- 42:48[SPEAKER_02]: Not us, we're not sleeping on him, Gary, we're not sleeping on him, we're not sleeping on him, we're not sleeping on him, we're not sleeping on him, we're not sleeping on him, we're not sleeping on him, we're not sleeping on him, we're not sleeping on him, we're not sleeping on him, we're not sleeping on him, we're not sleeping on him, we're not sleeping on him, we're not sleeping on him, we're not sleeping on him, we're not sleeping on him, we're not sleeping on him, we're not sleeping on him, we're not sleeping on him, we're not sleeping on him, we're not sleeping on him, we're not sleeping on him, we're not sleeping on him, we're not sleeping on him, we're not sleeping on him, we're not sleeping on him, we're not sleeping on him, we're not sleeping on him, we're not sleeping on him, we're not sleeping on him, we're not sleeping on him, we
- 43:16[SPEAKER_01]: Right now I think he's a buy anything at the right prices of buy right now.
- 43:20[SPEAKER_03]: I think he's a buy what you came in there last 30 days up or down I'm no I'm getting everyone wrong you up or down came in there was down 1%.
- 43:29[SPEAKER_03]: I still I was going to say I'm going to get run right in the last 90 days though.
- 43:34[SPEAKER_03]: He's getting some paper.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_03]: He's up 18%.
- 43:36[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, 20%.
- 43:39[SPEAKER_02]: Don't be a little bit of a game.
- 43:41[SPEAKER_03]: Let's keep this going.
- 43:41[SPEAKER_03]: Let's get some players.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_03]: This is the guy.
- 43:43[SPEAKER_03]: Let's look at our boy Connor.
- 43:44[SPEAKER_03]: I'm really curious.
- 43:45[SPEAKER_03]: He wasn't on the top 10 list.
- 43:47[SPEAKER_03]: I'm very surprised by that.
- 43:48[SPEAKER_03]: That he wasn't there.
- 43:49[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know top 10.
- 43:50[SPEAKER_03]: Rise or list.
- 43:51[SPEAKER_03]: Where you all think Connor is the last 30 90 days.
- 43:54[SPEAKER_02]: He's up.
- 43:55[SPEAKER_02]: He's even actually.
- 43:56[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to say he's down without 30 or 90 30.
- 43:59[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to say he's down one one and a half percent I'm going up 2% he's up 0.9
- 44:06[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 44:07[SPEAKER_03]: In the last 90 days.
- 44:08[SPEAKER_02]: I won that one.
- 44:09[SPEAKER_02]: He won that last last.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 44:12[SPEAKER_02]: It's one 90 days ago.
- 44:13[SPEAKER_02]: The national.
- 44:14[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, that was back.
- 44:15[SPEAKER_03]: And I mean, that's like right at the end of the season.
- 44:17[SPEAKER_03]: The national.
- 44:18[SPEAKER_03]: It's December.
- 44:19[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, chipship.
- 44:19[SPEAKER_02]: Do 90 days.
- 44:20[SPEAKER_02]: It's three months.
- 44:21[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 44:22[SPEAKER_02]: November.
- 44:23[SPEAKER_02]: And October 2nd September.
- 44:24[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 44:25[SPEAKER_02]: I'm closer to all six months ago.
- 44:28[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, okay, okay, you call me at any at least I could do know that that's four months ago.
- 44:32[SPEAKER_02]: It's four months not I could actually five No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
- 44:47[SPEAKER_03]: September, September 2nd, where was Connor Griffin's prices gone since then, since September 2nd?
- 44:53[SPEAKER_03]: Where, what's he up?
- 44:53[SPEAKER_02]: I hope they're up for my stake and you guys should hope they're up for my status.
- 44:59[SPEAKER_01]: I think 99% up 16% even.
- 45:00[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to go back to 2% else.
- 45:02[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to say 4.2%.
- 45:05[SPEAKER_03]: Up 30%.
- 45:06[SPEAKER_02]: Wow.
- 45:06[SPEAKER_02]: My blown.
- 45:07[SPEAKER_02]: My blown.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_02]: Let's do it.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_02]: This is it.
- 45:09[SPEAKER_02]: My blown.
- 45:10[SPEAKER_03]: He's up 30%.
- 45:12[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not a period of time.
- 45:13[SPEAKER_02]: Let me ask you this, Michael Harris, last 90 days, Gary, let's Michael Harris.
- 45:18[SPEAKER_03]: How many times I don't know how you do that?
- 45:20[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not letting you do that to me.
- 45:21[SPEAKER_03]: Michael, Michael, let's go.
- 45:23[SPEAKER_02]: Michael, let's go.
- 45:24[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 45:25[SPEAKER_02]: Let's this is a fun one.
- 45:26[SPEAKER_02]: Do these ones.
- 45:27[SPEAKER_03]: You want to go right on you.
- 45:28[SPEAKER_01]: You want to go to Colorado.
- 45:31[SPEAKER_01]: Let's do two more and then we're going to wrap this up.
- 45:33[SPEAKER_02]: Let's do hobby relevance.
- 45:35[SPEAKER_02]: Let's do hobby relevance because this is interesting because you definitely talked about before the football season.
- 45:38[SPEAKER_02]: Let's do the 6 first round cubies from last year.
- 45:41[SPEAKER_02]: Let's just do 90 days before the season.
- 45:44[SPEAKER_02]: Let's do them.
- 45:45[SPEAKER_02]: It'll be fun.
- 45:46[SPEAKER_02]: This is important.
- 45:47[SPEAKER_02]: These, this is educational to the people out there.
- 45:49[SPEAKER_02]: It is.
- 45:50[SPEAKER_02]: Think about it.
- 45:50[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 45:51[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 45:51[SPEAKER_02]: We'll do it.
- 45:52[SPEAKER_02]: Let's start with, I'm going to have them go.
- 45:55[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to guess them based on the order how bad I think it's going for each of them.
- 45:59[SPEAKER_02]: So first, we're going percentages.
- 46:01[SPEAKER_02]: You got.
- 46:02[SPEAKER_02]: Let's go J. J. McCarthy, 90 days 30 days and using the talk you're calling him the worst.
- 46:09[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he's the worst.
- 46:10[SPEAKER_02]: Hammer Panics.
- 46:11[SPEAKER_02]: Daniels, what do you say?
- 46:12[SPEAKER_03]: Karen, do you know anything about football?
- 46:13[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I know football.
- 46:15[SPEAKER_03]: Do you think J. J. I'm a part of these the worst in the last 90 days of the six quarter.
- 46:19[SPEAKER_03]: I would have showed J.
- 46:20[SPEAKER_02]: It might be down by the most like dollars, but the percentage is not as high as I mean.
- 46:24[SPEAKER_01]: No, I'll tell you what I think.
- 46:25[SPEAKER_01]: I don't give a credit.
- 46:26[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 46:26[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, sorry.
- 46:27[SPEAKER_02]: We're trying to educate the listeners out here.
- 46:29[SPEAKER_02]: You're too cool for it guys.
- 46:31[SPEAKER_02]: This is Eric too cool for everyone else.
- 46:34[SPEAKER_02]: Man, look current.
- 46:35[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you, Eric.
- 46:36[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you.
- 46:36[SPEAKER_03]: So getting to the point, getting to the point really why I think what you're trying to come to here is that because what you're trying to show with baseball being king and think is what we're trying to prove here.
- 46:45[SPEAKER_03]: And I agree with you.
- 46:46[SPEAKER_03]: Well, yeah, baseball is a lot safer place to be.
- 46:49[SPEAKER_03]: JJ McCarthy in the last 90 days is down 40, 44.4%.
- 46:55[SPEAKER_02]: And what about 30 days, it probably just is bad, right?
- 46:57[SPEAKER_03]: Or 21% or 21% or 30 days.
- 46:59[SPEAKER_02]: It's just 21 off of two months.
- 47:02[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 47:02[SPEAKER_02]: So it's already down.
- 47:03[SPEAKER_02]: Let's do okay.
- 47:04[SPEAKER_02]: So McCarthy, I think is the worst.
- 47:06[SPEAKER_02]: What about?
- 47:07[SPEAKER_02]: And he might actually be worse.
- 47:08[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think he had as much to go down.
- 47:10[SPEAKER_03]: 30% I'm going to say what he got.
- 47:12[SPEAKER_03]: He is down.
- 47:13[SPEAKER_03]: Whoa.
- 47:13[SPEAKER_03]: He's tied to him McCarthy.
- 47:14[SPEAKER_03]: 44%.
- 47:15[SPEAKER_03]: 44.
- 47:16[SPEAKER_02]: What about?
- 47:17[SPEAKER_02]: So these are the order.
- 47:18[SPEAKER_02]: I think they are.
- 47:18[SPEAKER_02]: Now what about?
- 47:19[SPEAKER_02]: Jayden.
- 47:20[SPEAKER_03]: Let's see.
- 47:21[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he might be more because he just had such a big market to be dealing with.
- 47:24[SPEAKER_03]: 37.
- 47:25[SPEAKER_03]: 37.
- 47:25[SPEAKER_02]: Now let's go.
- 47:27[SPEAKER_02]: Let's go.
- 47:28[SPEAKER_02]: Let's go.
- 47:28[SPEAKER_02]: Bonex next.
- 47:29[SPEAKER_03]: I already know this one.
- 47:30[SPEAKER_03]: I looked it up.
- 47:31[SPEAKER_03]: He's down 5.01.
- 47:32[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, that's it over 90 days.
- 47:34[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, he's going to 5.1 and he's like and he's been and he's like you said he's freaking actually he's down 6.3.
- 47:40[SPEAKER_03]: Sorry, it up this point.
- 47:41[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to say Caleb is probably down 15% and he's been okay.
- 47:45[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think I think he's pretty good actually.
- 47:47[SPEAKER_03]: That's just crazy.
- 47:47[SPEAKER_03]: Caleb, Caleb, Caleb's down like that's great.
- 47:50[SPEAKER_03]: I'm almost like Daniel's Caleb down.
- 47:52[SPEAKER_02]: I'll read by.
- 47:52[SPEAKER_03]: Caleb is up in 30 days 6.6 and he is down 10.1 and 90 and 0.1 and 90.
- 47:59[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, about 10% and now Drake may as the winner.
- 48:01[SPEAKER_02]: Let's this will be the fun one.
- 48:03[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to say he is up 60%.
- 48:06[SPEAKER_02]: That's that's crazy.
- 48:07[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you.
- 48:08[SPEAKER_03]: What do you think, what do you think, Drake may as?
- 48:10[SPEAKER_01]: It's 30 days.
- 48:12[SPEAKER_01]: 90 days.
- 48:13[SPEAKER_01]: I'll say 42%.
- 48:15[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to say that.
- 48:17[SPEAKER_02]: I said 60.
- 48:19[SPEAKER_01]: 18.3.
- 48:20[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't know if it included everything.
- 48:21[SPEAKER_02]: I knew it'd be a big.
- 48:22[SPEAKER_02]: I knew it'd be like double, but I I don't know if it looked like base cards in the impetus.
- 48:26[SPEAKER_02]: So here's the point though.
- 48:27[SPEAKER_02]: So this percentage
- 48:29[SPEAKER_02]: is higher than most of the baseball percentages we saw.
- 48:31[SPEAKER_02]: They win, but the loss is also higher.
- 48:34[SPEAKER_02]: That's kind of the point.
- 48:35[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 48:35[SPEAKER_02]: Six guys that you could have made arguments for how good they're going to be all year, five of them lost.
- 48:40[SPEAKER_03]: And you want to know why, but this is the point of this whole episode.
- 48:44[SPEAKER_03]: Now we're getting to the current electorate I'm here.
- 48:47[SPEAKER_03]: I've done both.
- 48:48[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 48:48[SPEAKER_03]: And I've done, I've done football.
- 48:50[SPEAKER_03]: I've done baseball.
- 48:51[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 48:52[SPEAKER_03]: But ultimately, what's happened to football?
- 48:55[SPEAKER_03]: What's happened to football?
- 48:57[SPEAKER_03]: It was happened to baseball.
- 48:58[SPEAKER_03]: Baseball has now the biggest thing with baseballs people know what they have and they don't just dump shit.
- 49:04[SPEAKER_03]: They don't just dump the market.
- 49:06[SPEAKER_03]: Like right now, the fact we're in December and it's hard to go by Connor Griffin in Kevin McGonagall and JJ Weatherhol and all these people we're talking about is why this market strong is we finally got through and you've got all these degenerates that are playing this football flip game
- 49:22[SPEAKER_03]: it is a pure gamble, football is a pure gamble.
- 49:26[SPEAKER_01]: The difference, I mean, one of the bigger, one of the differences I see that I like the front of my head is, you know, some people will consider football could be speculation similar to prospecting, right?
- 49:37[SPEAKER_01]: Like obviously with the differences, the difference lies, there's many differences, right?
- 49:41[SPEAKER_01]: But imagine,
- 49:43[SPEAKER_01]: us as baseball prospectors.
- 49:45[SPEAKER_01]: Imagine we're buying into the market of these players cards and they go directly to Major League Baseball.
- 49:52[SPEAKER_01]: The success rate would be so freaking low.
- 49:55[SPEAKER_01]: And it's on a much smaller scale of people of QBs to choose from going to the NFL.
- 50:01[SPEAKER_01]: But like imagine we're buying JJ weather straight from the draft going to the immediately baseball.
- 50:06[SPEAKER_01]: Like it would be harder.
- 50:07[SPEAKER_01]: Like it's it's a longer process in baseball.
- 50:12[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, like, football, no, I'm not comparing three years professionally before they make the pros, you know, like, they are, it also look about there's a counter to your argument.
- 50:23[SPEAKER_02]: Look at all the first year.
- 50:24[SPEAKER_02]: Jane Dale made the the NFC championship game last year as a rookie.
- 50:27[SPEAKER_02]: Like, no one in baseball as a rookie has that impact, typically.
- 50:31[SPEAKER_01]: No, right, true.
- 50:32[SPEAKER_01]: I got to know that.
- 50:32[SPEAKER_01]: I like her.
- 50:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 50:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 50:35[SPEAKER_01]: Well, here's it anyway.
- 50:36[SPEAKER_02]: It's also not based on team performance and baseball is much either.
- 50:39[SPEAKER_02]: Think about that.
- 50:39[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 50:41[SPEAKER_02]: You've been on these guys who, like, like, cheapies are judged by how many games they went.
- 50:44[SPEAKER_02]: And they, they might be awesome and team might just be garbage.
- 50:47[SPEAKER_02]: And then the card dips, you know?
- 50:48[SPEAKER_02]: We're at Nick Kerch's team's garbage.
- 50:50[SPEAKER_02]: Well, they're average source.
- 50:51[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 50:52[SPEAKER_01]: Well, guys, we're, we're getting to the end of this episode.
- 50:54[SPEAKER_01]: That was fun.
- 50:55[SPEAKER_01]: That was fun.
- 50:56[SPEAKER_01]: And we had a one idea of which direction this was going to go.
- 50:59[SPEAKER_01]: And it led to a million other directions.
- 51:01[SPEAKER_01]: And that's a good thing.
- 51:02[SPEAKER_01]: It was good conversation.
- 51:03[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to always good debate with Mr. Pollan on the line.
- 51:06[SPEAKER_01]: Anything else before we sign off, guys?
- 51:09[SPEAKER_02]: think I don't think I performed well enough for you guys and I don't think I brought the right results.
- 51:13[SPEAKER_02]: I think my cards over the last 30 minutes would be down at least 75.
- 51:18[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't make fun of either of you enough and you think make fun of me enough.
- 51:23[SPEAKER_02]: We left.
- 51:23[SPEAKER_01]: Go ahead.
- 51:23[SPEAKER_02]: I'm at fun of us once each.
- 51:25[SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to.
- 51:26[SPEAKER_02]: I'm a nice guy.
- 51:27[SPEAKER_02]: We looked enough in table.
- 51:29[SPEAKER_03]: Say, Paul, one thing that I do want from you, if you could do this for us is we're about to sign off here.
- 51:35[SPEAKER_03]: Because, Kern, we talked about this and hopefully we do this.
- 51:38[SPEAKER_03]: Because if I'm passionate about anything, I think you know this, Kern, I think you know this, Zach, like I actually enjoy.
- 51:44[SPEAKER_03]: In Zach, you said this before, you're like, the difference between you and Eric and me is like, y'all dig it on the numbers.
- 51:50[SPEAKER_03]: Like, love digging in on these prospects and digging in on these pro numbers and like,
- 51:55[SPEAKER_03]: I've started that process of like the gold mining for next baseball season.
- 51:59[SPEAKER_03]: What I would love, Paul, and as you can give me some stats on what you're seeing on the sell side by side, interest side on Europe.
- 52:07[SPEAKER_03]: He's giving you all of these like these undervalued.
- 52:10[SPEAKER_03]: I want to do a segment coming up.
- 52:11[SPEAKER_03]: We're going to have our own coming on.
- 52:13[SPEAKER_03]: We're going to talk about Bowman release.
- 52:15[SPEAKER_03]: But we're going to talk about undervalued guys.
- 52:17[SPEAKER_03]: I want to have on our mom.
- 52:18[SPEAKER_03]: We talk about undervalued.
- 52:19[SPEAKER_03]: We talk about guys that should be by now.
- 52:21[SPEAKER_03]: We should be talking about the guys that are forgotten.
- 52:24[SPEAKER_03]: You talk about these guys that are out there that just like kind of, then there is this wedge, just so we're kind of talking about pro football in minor league baseball prospecting the same.
- 52:35[SPEAKER_03]: You know when the wedge is the same is when a guy doesn't get that call within that period of expected time.
- 52:41[SPEAKER_03]: When there is a guy like a DSL prospect who's 18 or 17 in your buying him like he's the next coming and he doesn't reach the pros until he's 21 he's going to get his shit's going to get rocked all the way to 21 and so there's a lot of those guys in my opinion
- 52:57[SPEAKER_03]: that we can look at and say these are buys these are guys are going to get that second win that third win and and that's where there's this layers to boom and collecting now and that's what I want to dive into on the next couple of weeks episodes who are these guys that are by the second time by the third time by the fourth time type players.
- 53:14[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you both exactly throughout this show had great points on that like
