- Roc: And we're live. Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen. We got JSP, we got a Tuesday morning drop, and we had week six football, boys and girls. Week six football. Not gonna lie, kinda some ugly games, kind of a little bit a little boring compared to college football. And you wanna know what, Dub, I wanna talk a little college minute, if you don't mind. C-Dub: No, do your thing. I don't have I don't have anything from college, so this is all you. All you. Roc: Yeah, no, I I I really don't have anything either, but the slate of games was an incredibly high standard and damn it, did it deliver. It held up. We had w number one, two C-Dub: I did I did watch I did live bet Indiana. I live bet Indiana. Ohio State. And they covered. They covered. They covered. That was fun. Roc: And yeah, that was a crazy ending. Yeah, they did. But we almost had Mayhem with I think six of the top eight teams losing this week. So we had w number one go down, number two go two go down, number three, Miami barely sneaked away, number four went down, six went down, and seven went down with Texas. So I that was all my college minute was in comparison. NFL ball in comparison to college football this weekend, it was wasn't even wasn't even close. Wasn't even close. C-Dub: It was also cool outside an engagement party for most of my night, so I couldn't really see much. But I did get to a bar just in time to see Notre Dame lose. That was pretty cool. That was awesome. The ending was nice. The Roc: And it's a sick game. It was a sick game. Yeah. C-Dub: ending was great too. I mean, good game all around. Yankees minute. Boone's back for another year. Roc: Yeah, I saw that. I don't C-Dub: My one take, and we can move on, is it's predictable. The Yankees Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: do not fire managers mid mid-contract, but it's also sad. Roc: Yeah, I just I don't really understand it 'cause his voice has been heard enough. Like now every single time that he talks, it's just in one ear, out the other for every single player in that clubhouse. So I really don't understand what bringing him back is gonna do. Even if management thinks that he is a great manager and like, okay, he he can get us C-Dub: They can't fake that at this point though. Roc: to ninety wins and we're in the playoffs every year. Dude, every single thing that he said says to them it it doesn't have any actual meaning to to him anymore. The players don't c like C-Dub: I just think they don't wanna be yeah. I just don't I just think the Yankees management doesn't wanna be paying two head coaches at the same time. And that could be it. I Roc: Yeah. Yeah. C-Dub: might be wrong, but that's kinda how I feel. That's what the vibes are here. I mean I think I don't think they're gonna give Boone a contract next year, he's gonna walk. and the Yankees are just gonna hire someone else to suck up time for the next ten years of my life. So can't wait for that. Roc: Yeah. And yeah. But hey, let's dive into week six ball, baby. C-Dub: Let's do it. Woo. Roc: First game of the week, Thursday night football. My Broncos. My Denver Broncos, baby. Broncos seventeen, C-Dub: Alright, alright. Roc: Seahawks fourteen. How about the Coes? C-Dub: Okay, you say that, but I in my entire football watching career I've never seen a player on the winning team get more shit for how badly they performed than Bonex. Roc: my he I I again, I I I I said it to you, I texted you, I don't know what it is with them, I can't put them away, but he's actively trying to make me look like an idiot. He's actively C-Dub: Yes. Roc: trying to make me look like a jackass on this podcast. And you know what? It is frustrating. It is so frustrating. They have so much C-Dub: No Roc: potential, they have all the talent in the world on that defense and on the offense. These were not spent first round picks on Jalen Waddell. Gonna be this gadget guy, weapon guy, the the jack of all trades for Sean Payton. Four catches for 30 yards. Come on, take some shots, man. C-Dub: Yeah, yeah. And it's like like in my mind, any other team, a win like this, a slug it out overtime dog fight against a Seahawks the ne like granted they're not looking like they were last year, but they d they they won the Super Bowl. And a lot of their guys returned. I mean, granted we could get into it, their biggest piece did not, debatably. But this win should make me fall in love with the Broncos. But I like I left this game with less trust in them. And I don't know how that's possible. Roc: It's crazy. 'Cause I I'm I have two folds here. It's where one side of me is it it's it's my heart. I it's what I see. I I I know that the Broncos are a good good squad. Like defensive all around they are a good squad. And the only thing that's holding them back is their lack of playmaking and quarterback play right now. It's just nothing's explosive, right? And it was the stat that I sent you. Broncos just beat the Super Bowl champs. They're four and two, and their two losses are against two undefeated teams on the road. So they are a good team, like a really good team. C-Dub: I know, but that's what I'm saying, the squin should make me fall off. Roc: But but when you wa but when you watch it when you watch it it's just so clunky and so like gross that they just make you think they're not good but they are I I'm still high on them. I'm still high on them and I I think that they will figure it out at some point and if not then I'm just gonna keep beating the drum and I don't know. I I really don't know. C-Dub: You know what I will say last point in part point of this game, 'cause we got a we got some Sunday games to dick our teeth into. Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: I think a the big week six winner still might be Davis Webb. Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: He might be the week six winner, like the biggest winner. Roc: yeah. C-Dub: Because I mean, no one's talking about him anymore. Like if Sean Payton takes control and turns us all around, he looks like a duh duh. Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: But now, I mean, he's not his name being talked about is probably the the best thing. Like his name in no headlines is probably the greatest thing he's ever seen. Roc: Yeah. 'Cause the first two weeks it was just that that's all you heard about. So C-Dub: That's all it was. And maybe there's deeper pro deeper rooted problems. But I mean, again, I I'm willing to say the Broncos are a good team 'cause you look at their schedule and they ha their two losses are to some solid solid comp. Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: but I still I d I left this game with less confidence. Roc: That's fair. That's not a crazy take. That's not that's not crazy. C-Dub: Yeah. yeah. Roc: And we move on to Sunday. First game of the day in over the pond. Great, great, great finish. Texans 34. C-Dub: Can I give an analogy, Rocco? Roc: Texans 34. Jaguars 31. Go on, dub. C-Dub: That's like I was at an engagement party this weekend Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: and there was a main course coming out. But that's when you see you know what this game was like? When y when you see one of the wait staff walking around with meat a meatball tray with stickers. Roc: y y and and and you're you're plucking at it, no? C-Dub: It yeah, it's a great it's great to get the night go it's great to get your day going, is what I'm saying about this game. It was Roc: Yes. Yep. C-Dub: great for the palette. It really got you a loving football. Roc: Yes. C-Dub: and then I mean my main takeaway is if you told me the Jags scored thirty one, I mean most most times I'd say that's a Jags win and a Texans loss when they're playing the Texans. But I mean CJ Stroud. Bat not himself. Bad not himself. He's he is bowling. He is balling, he's a top Roc: I said last week. I said he's been ballin'. I was I was C-Dub: He's a top ten quarterback right now. Like, I don't know where you put him, but he's a top he's a top Roc: I I said it I said it on the I said it on the C-Dub: top of the league. Roc: I said it on the IG count. I said they called me a madman for going with the Broncos and Texans off rip back to back last week. CJ Stroud C-Dub: They Roc: balling. Three hundred and twelve yards, three tutties. I mean Trevor Lawrence still balled too, but damn, I think these Texans are just finding the stride right now and they I we we we called it two weeks ago, right before right before they won their first game against the C-Dub: We did. No, we did. Roc: Titans. We said, wonder what the odds are for them to win this division. Or make the playoffs and that was at a time when they it was grim and there was no hope. And now they look they look pretty scary. I I gave out C-Dub: Th I would agree. Roc: the mega nuke, the mega nuke of Marvin Harrison. Check. And I think he's only gonna get better. Him and Nico, they're getting tanked. They got word they're getting tanked Dell back this week against the Giants, sadly. But they get him back. Jalen Knowle put up a hundred and seven with a tutty. I mean Maybe this offense is explosive and Stroud's been balling, like you said, top ten guy right now. He looks like he's his rookie year self again. He just looks comfortable, looks confident, and he's he's he's playing. He's playing. C-Dub: Yeah, no, I've had tanks stashed on some of my fantasy teams. So I'm excited to finally get him out the IR and get him going. So that's exciting. yeah, I mean I don't really have much else. I mean this was a statement a statement went for the Texans. They it makes this division at least fun to keep an eye on. Roc: Yes. Because if the Jags won this game then they would have had pretty much pretty much all she wrote in that division. It would have been Yeah. Yes. Yes. C-Dub: A a a strangle hold. Yeah. Roc: But y your analogy was perfect. This was a great start to the day, really got the party going and it was it was a good start to Sunday football. C-Dub: For sure. Roc: Next game we move on to, dub. First game of the one o'clock. Titans 26. Colts 20. Ew, dude. C-Dub: And I'm gonna put my hand up because y I was like, I can't quit the Colts. I'm officially quitting the Colts. I've officially Roc: Ew C-Dub: quit them. I mean, again, it's one of those games where you look at the stats, JT 151 all purpose, Keenan Allen eighty two yards, eight eight receptions. And then you look at Daniel Jones and how he played. I mean he damn near put up three hundred, but two picks. he kept the Titans in this game. And it was a st it Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: it was stinky for him. Carnell Tate, welcome to the league. I also had that. He played well. And it's not like they made made Cam Ward beat you. Roc: No, Kim Ward was sub sub part. He's pedestrian. He had C-Dub: Yes. Roc: just over a tick over a hundred yards, one touchdown, one interception. Nothing crazy. And it wasn't like Tony Pollard lit the world on fire either. It wasn't like, he went for 150. It was just a gross, like sad game of football from the Colts on the Colts end. And C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: they fired their GM Chris Balor this morning. So they're gonna be in the market for new GM new GM spot and a name that's been thrown out there is Peyton Manning. C-Dub: That'd cool. I hope that doesn't interfere with the Manning Roc: I think C-Dub: cast though. Roc: I think it would be cool. I like I like the idea of it. Obviously, I think everyone when Peyton played thought he was the smartest quarterback in the league. He's the field general, the sheriff. So I I don't hate the idea of it if he can go de decipher talent and go pick out talent for that squad 'cause it's ever since Andrew Lux been gone, they've been trying to throw as many pennies into the wishing well as possible for the quarterback in the future and they just still haven't found it. C-Dub: Great analogy. Great analogy. Yeah. Roc: That's all I had on this this game too. This game was it was just kinda C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: like it was just kinda boring 'cause the tight Titans didn't do anything crazy and the Colts was just gross, gross football. C-Dub: Yeah. Yeah. No, I completely agree. Roc: But a a note on this one though, I I talked about this w with you, dub. I had a ten leg moneyline parlay for a good a good penny and the Colts were the only ones that that lost me. The Colts lost to the defeated Titans. The O and five Titans. So that was my last C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: note in that game. C-Dub: Yeah. I don't I mean, yeah, boring. I mean we go to the next game, I also thought was kind of Roc: Kind of boring also. Yeah, next game. Panthers 25, Eagles 14. Kind of like how I expected it to go. No Jalen Hurd, still no Saquon. Devontae Smith got hurt in what the second quarter, third quarter. It in the Panthers are fun on offense. Bryce Young's playing at an MVP level. He's playing top five quarterback football right now. Chuba Hubbard went off. Abuck 20 in a tutty. It was kind of just. pure domination from the Panthers. It never really felt C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: like it was really in in reach, I guess. I mean it was in reach but never felt like like we have we have a game right now. Like we have a ball game. C-Dub: Yeah. I mean I guess the main storyline from this is Jalen Hurts is out for the year now. Which really sucks. Roc: That sucks. That's such sad news. C-Dub: It really sucks. I mean, and you're hearing all these things that are coming ab coming out about with the blood clots. He stayed up for like thirty six hours, went on a p on a plane where you're not supposed you're Roc: Scary. That's scary stuff. I how did they let him go out and play? C-Dub: where you're not supposed to fly with blood clots. Like that's like a I have no idea. There's th there's Roc: How did they let him go out and play? That like that's malpractice. That's like C-Dub: gonna there's there's shit shit that's gonna come out from this. Shit will come out. And Roc: yeah. Well C-Dub: A lot of it. Roc: I assume that this is probably just the season of hell for Philly and they probably will go in the gutter the rest of the year and just I mean, soft tank, whatever, get a draft pick, but then they're probably gonna clean house after this year and I think stuff will come out about whatever coaching, medical staff, 'cause that's that's ridiculous. That's not even like it was a sprained ankle or like jammed wrist like broken wrist that blood blood clot like that's like real that's like real that's real scary things. And no it started C-Dub: It's a dude's life on the line. Like it's it was like in his lungs. Yeah. Roc: in his in his calf, which was before they went to London in his calf and then made him sit on the plane, didn't move around, made him go out and play on zero sleep and now it's in his lungs. Like that's like It's sad stuff and it's scary C-Dub: Yeah. Yeah. Roc: stuff. It's like it's like real world stuff to talk about and I I hate it. And even as like a Giants fan, I don't care about like the people are like, the division's open, the division's open. I don't I don't care about that right now. Like that's C-Dub: No, you you want the NFC you want you like the league as much as you hate the Eagles, the league's better when they're good. Roc: And you want yeah, you want good good competition. Like you want to beat the best. And I there's no reason for anyone to hate Jalen Hurts like he's he's always been a class act, he's always done things the right way. Like outside of outside of his play. However, we we just threw him in in our mid tier quarterbacks. I did last week. Last pot, I threw him in the mid tier quarterbacks. But he's a winner, he's a professional, and I'm I just I I hope everything's okay, honestly. C-Dub: And if and if a question for you, Rock, if that if this season is his last season and it's like a Chris Boss situation where stuff like just can't play anymore, i does he retire from the league as a top five quote guy? Roc: yeah. I think whether you like it or w whether you like it or not, either I C-Dub: Yeah. I think he's top three, honestly. I don't even know who else you put him with, but he Roc: on both ends of the spectrum, 'cause it could be some people might like his quotes be like, it can go all all all around. He he's a quote machine, quote card. C-Dub: You know what, love or hate every Monday I loved when I saw a quote card with Love it or hate it. I watched. Love Roc: Yeah. Yeah. C-Dub: it or hate it. Roc: And lover hate it you watched. that's C-Dub: And that is it. That's all I got on that game really. Roc: all I got on that game too. Moving on to the next game. This one also up there one of the most exciting games of the week, in my opinion. C-Dub: yeah. Roc: Steelers twenty-six, Buccaneers nineteen, overtime thriller. Steelers came back from I think it was fourteen in the fourth quarter. Two thirteen C-Dub: Fourteen or thirteen, something like that, yeah. Roc: two touchdowns or two scores, whatever. And Yeah, it kinda it looked it looked bleak for them early on, but Rogers found a stride. He he trusts Bernard. He trusts that rookie Bernard. And yeah, it was a great great finish to a good middle to slate Monday Sunday one o'clock games. C-Dub: No, for sure. I mean, DK, eleven catches, ninety three yards. Warren didn't really get much going, but he still ended it with ended ended it with seventy-eight all purpose. it was w it was one of those games where I think I could be a good NFL coach because Todd Bull still has a job. Roc: That he I don't know how. We talked about it first episode, I don't know how he made it through the off season. It it makes really no sense. And it's like that that little meme. I don't know if you've seen the rabbit with the with the stopwatch point at it. Time's ticking, time's ticking, it's only it's only due. It's only due. I I mean time's ticking. They're at one and five now and it it sucks again 'cause it was another one score game. I I said this stat that they've covered the spread in every single game so far this year. And that they their first four losses were by a combined twenty points before they beat Dallas. They lost twenty total points in four straight losses. So it sucks they're in every game and they're a player two away or a mismanaged clock away from winning games and maybe being up there for the division and now they fall to one and five and it's just like I don't know where you go. Baker's probably not gonna be back this week, which I don't think they should rush him back, especially at this point. C-Dub: No no need. Roc: Daniels Daniels hasn't played that bad at all. He's been serviceable one on one as a starter and I think he's probably showing the league that he can he can play. He's gonna stick around in this league from C-Dub: Yeah. Yeah. Roc: being an undrafted guy from Kansas that was kind of just a highlight reel and college wasn't really a true professional. So now I think he's showing the league that he can he can he can compete and he can play, be serviceable backup for years to come. C-Dub: Yeah, no, I think Steelers and Bucks, I called my shot Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: with them. It did look grim for a while. I'm gonna place the Bucks and the Chargers as a tie for worst vibes. Roc: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Mm. Chargers I think are like the pinnacle of just bad vibes. They're about to fire McDaniels for which is crazy to think about. Just Todd Bulls. Huh. C-Dub: I think it's more so with the box, like, as you said, they're close they're top bowls and they're they're keeping as you said, they've they've covered a they've covered a lot of spreads. They're keeping it interesting and like this Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: is one of those teams where what like I mean, catch lightning in a bottle at the end of the season and you're gonna look back and say, Damn, we started one and five. Roc: Yeah, they're gonna finish somehow they're gonna finish the year like eight and nine and miss the playoffs by half a game to a tiebreaker in the NFC South division and they're gonna be like, Damn, that that one game early on when we lost to the Browns, that one game early on when we lost to the Steelers. That one game when we lost to the Packers, it's gonna come back and bite them in the ass. But that was all I had on C-Dub: It's a laundry list. You can go down it. Roc: that's all I had on that game, but it C-Dub: Yeah, that's all. Roc: Next game. Browns 13. Ravens 10. C-Dub: yeah. Roc: The Brownies, baby. My dogs. Live dog of the week. And they win outright. Again, they're just doing doing it the same way. Defense, defense, defense, Deshaun Watson. Come alive in the fourth quarter. Come on live in the fourth quarter. And I think that's just the game plan they go with now. Honestly. It's That i whether you like watching it or not, that's that's what you gotta do to win games and in the AFC North, they're they're a top it now. And they look like a a good, legitimate team. I wanna give credit to you, C-Dub: I would agree. Roc: Dub. I wanna give credit to you, Jerry Judy. You called it. I appreciate you gave that play. Yeah, I'm pretty sure you gave that play. Go ahead, I'll C-Dub: That was one my notes. That was one of my notes. Yep. Roc: let you talk. C-Dub: No, that was one of my notes. I mean I mean, I think he played well enough to where down the line, when the trade deadline comes, he'll go to like a mid of the pack team that's looking for a playoff playoff run and might not have the the power at wide receiver to to do it. Roc: Mm. C-Dub: So, I guess we'll see where they end up. Where he ends up. And I also said The the key to beating Tyler Huntley is keeping him under two hundred. Browns defense played a great game. They did that. another note I have from this is Henry. I mean, first drive he had like maybe twenty yards, end of the game with fifty eight rushing yards. Roc: I said in last week's preview that the only way that I can see the Browns actually winning this is you gotta bottle up Henry and you gotta make that the the main focus of this game and I they did it. Seventeen carries, fifty eight yards, they they did their job. And yeah, I don't know, it's it's one of those things though that the Ravens always end up doing like that first drive looks like he's he's moving, looks like he's chugging, and then he just kinda either they stop giving him carries or it's just like a drop off in the middle of the game and it's like why don't you give him more carries? But he finished with seventeen, which is not like low by any means. It's just under twenty. Like I think the Browns did a did a great job, held him in check. Zay Flowers had six for sixty. Like in that those are the top two guys. I just think that the Ravens are are missing Lamar. They if they had Lamar who's top end MVP superstar, uber talented, I think he makes up for some of those lack of explosive plays that they had. And C-Dub: for sure, for sure. Yeah. Roc: It's just another another guy that that defense has to obviously focus about. So C-Dub: Yeah. And for the Browns I'm all the way back in that they're gonna be a playoff team. I'm all the way. I called it I called a Roc: Love it. I love it. C-Dub: I called it maybe week two or three. I'm all b I'm all the way back in. I mean they may you you give Deshaun the ball at the end, he'll do enough to give you a win. Most of the time, from what I've seen. Roc: We were early on it. You were early on it. C-Dub: We were. We were. Hey, we'll see where it goes. A lot of football left. Take Roc: This next game, dub. This next game. C-Dub: the floor, Rock. Take the floor for a sec. I know you got a lot of thoughts. Roc: Saints 34. Saints 34, Giants 27. And man, just an ugly, ugly game. Like, I personally we lost it more than the Saints won, in my opinion. Yes, they they did turn the ball over. They got takeaways, they got turnovers, so kudos to them. But man, Jameis looked so bad. And he just like looked lost out there. We have the headline of us. Benching Scattaboo and starting Najee and then only giving Najee like five carries and Scattabu didn't even get a snap and now that's like a big storyline. We we br we bring in I C-Dub: I have thoughts on that too, but keep going. Roc: have I have thoughts, yeah. We bring in JJ in the third quarter and very first throw pick and I just I just I sent a laughing emoji to Chris, sent a laughing emoji to my family, and I just said this team's a joke. We're down by twenty-four at that point. I was I was like, okay, this is just pathetic to watch. It's gonna be the same thing. Seasons wrapped, like, whatever. And then nine squared, man. He went out there and balled. He hooped. And I I love that he's pushing the ball downfield, finding neighbors who went crazy again, 12 for 165, finding like leave at a sick head tap in the end zone. And just watching JJ. Right after Jameis, right that side by side comparison, the ball's jumping off JJ's hand, which I wouldn't have like thought about when he was in Minnesota and there's the nine meme, like it's like, JJ. It's like underwhelming. But the the ball looks like it's got a little juice to it and looks like it's coming in hot. So it's the way he played, there's some optimism for the rest of the season. We're we're still atop the division, so I mean i I I'm talking like C-Dub: Wow. Yeah, which is crazy. Roc: I I'm talking like we're on a six game skid. And we just got smoked at home. But still, this is a game I expected us to win. Saints were one and four at home. I I I'm still upset that with the loss at the end of the day. I am I'm I'm optimistic with McCarthy, but very, very upset that we let one get away from us because they didn't do anything on offense the Saints really. We we held Shuck to 140. He had C-Dub: Yeah. Yeah, no Roc: he had he had three touchdown passes, but it's now like He is lighting the world on fire. Olave didn't even break fifty yards. They didn't have any big rushing yard rushing days. Kendrick Miller was their leader for seventy yards. It was just I think we we lost the game more than they won it, honestly. C-Dub: No, exactly. It was one of those where in the beginning with how Jameis was playing, we were where we were giving that team the football. How could how c how could the Saints have have lost that? Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: Granted it came down to the wire. But one thing I will say, Rock, you just went off there. W I Roc: Yeah, I'm sorry. C-Dub: no, no, no, no, no. Love hearing your thoughts. But it's one of those games where like I feel good. And it was a loss, and I haven't felt that way in a while. And Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: you were you were talking about, it's Should have won this, should won that. But I mean, may have found a guy, may have found a dog. I mean, I don't know. Maybe if defenses have some time to prep to prepare, because they're vastly different quarterbacks. May maybe we will talk about it in a week. We don't know who the starter is. JJ maybe doesn't have the greatest stat line, but damn, I am excited for next week if he plays. Roc: Yeah, same. C-Dub: This is one of the first times I disagree with Harbaugh with a coaching decision with Scattabu. That Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: guy's a lightning rod. love him or hate him. He he he he makes plays here and there. Give him the ball in open field, he'll run someone over and galvanize a team. him having zero carries is a sin. And I get that he's in Roc: That was C-Dub: the doghouse. I get he's in the doghouse. I understand that. And you can say that. But he is a lightning rod. He's a guy, he makes one play and your whole team's back in it. Like he r let's he he he puts a helmet into two people's faces, gets a gets a hard ten Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: yards and gets up and gets hype. Like that can wake up a team. And and we were playing sleepy until JJ started caught lightning in a bottle from Roc: Yeah, I got I got a little take on Scataboo after you go. C-Dub: I mean no, no, I wanna hear it. I wanna hear it. Roc: I understand the harball like, all right, we're gonna discipline him, dog pound, whatever. The zero snaps is ridiculous to me, 'cause that's just being petty at that point where you're putting your standard and your Power. he's pretty much putting his idea and his power over what's best for the team. And You can't be doing that in the league, honestly. Maybe bench him for a quarter. I get it. You gotta give him some you gotta give him some some reps, but C-Dub: For sure, for sure, yeah. Roc: zero, I get you wanna make a point and you wanna say the stand Tomlin, the standard is the standard. Like this is how we play. I'm old school. But man, zero, zero carries the entire game. That's crazy. And then C-Dub: And the point the point was made in then some. The point he was trying to make. Roc: And then the and then the after after the game pressers with Harbaugh's side of things and then Scataboo's side of things and Harbaugh's getting pissed at the media for asking all these questions, but he's saying like that's just how we do it, that's how like the standard is. Like it wasn't because of the fumble, and then Scataboo saying, it was completely because of the fumble, that's exactly what he told me. It's just such a bad look for the Giants and for this this team, like Like on a a as like a culture wise that you you want this team to be just trending upwards and you just hit that little like stagnant like mix rift between head coach and one of the the star guys. C-Dub: And it's not like Scattabu complained. He was like, Yeah, I get it. It was he he Roc: No yeah C-Dub: he seemed understanding. And then you got Harbaugh being Roc: In C-Dub: adversarial. Roc: in this this is where I'm I'm going with the take here. And after saying the the Justin Herber one last week, the Giants fans might actually wanna wanna just guillotine me in in the open, but I I I think the Giants might sell Scat at the deadline. stuff like putting pieces together. He Broke his ankle last year, he talked about retirement last year. He said that he he didn't know if he wanted to come back. Scatter Harbaugh in the offseason said that when they were drafting, they were like, If Jeremiah Love's there, we want Jeremiah Love. I I can see a world where it's a it's a hot take, but I can see a world where the Giants ship him at the deadline and see what they can get from him. Cause if this relationship is as bad as it I I feel like it's it's worse than what even what we're portraying it. 'Ca th we had this exact conversation going into the season. They said that Scataboo's antics were getting on Harbaugh's nerves and it's just like it's week six now and it's still carrying over and then he's fumbling and now it's like getting blown out of proportion from the media. I could I could see a world where the deadline's coming around and they might ship him. C-Dub: That's not as crazy as the Dart one. And again, I don't want to think about that. I love Scataboo. But that Roc: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. C-Dub: one's more believable in my opinion. I mean, sad enough to say. If they do, I'll be really upset. Roc: Yeah. That's all I had on this game. I don't know if you have anything else, but C-Dub: I'll be upset. Yeah. just the one neighbors catch with JJ. I think I watched that. I text the rock. I think I Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: watched that catch and like him standing him standing in the pocket, moving up a little bit and just chucking a dart. I watched that play a sick amount of times. And I keep going back to it, and that's pretty awesome. Roc: There's there's optimism. There's there's there's hope. There's hope. C-Dub: Yeah. Yeah. And again we didn't really touch on them, but like I mean Sand scored thirty four, I wouldn't pin this on the Giants D. Roc: No, like it was a it was a C-Dub: You can't. Roc: quiet it was a quiet thirty four as crazy as that sounds, just 'cause they they get the ball in great field position every single time. They'd have the ball past midfield. So it was like you didn't really have to do too much, but I don't I don't know. And we still had shot C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: to go win the game at the end end of the game. like we had the under the minute drive, we got three straight stops, got the punt, had a minute with no timeouts, moved the ball down, got the the twenty five thirty and it just didn't go our way. So C-Dub: Yeah, and I know he spent a lot of time in this game already, but I'm tired of seeing Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: I'm I'm one thing I will say and we'll get more clarity with our next pod, I'm tired of seeing Unk say, Give Jameis another start. I'm tired of it. Don't like too many people are saying it and we'll s and we'll talk Roc: Yeah. Yeah. We'll we'll we'll know who's starter by by Wednesday. C-Dub: about it later. Roc: Yeah. next game. Another kind of s slow start. Slow starting game, kinda just like a beat down, and then got fun in the fourth quarter. Bears thirty one, Falcons twenty three. Falcons had a nice little late push there in the fourth quarter, putting up I think what, twenty or sixteen unanswered points in the fourth quarter to make it a one score game. And the Iceman returned. The Iceman returned and he looked good. Three five, one touchdown. Bears offense, explosive again. And dub and I kinda hit it the head on the nail. If Caleb plays, we like the Bears. If Caleb didn't play, we like the Falcons. Caleb played and the Bears did their thing. C-Dub: Yep. sneaky Kyle Pitts game. Two Toddies. I don't know. I said it I didn't know Roc: Yeah. I you you I don't know if you said it if you said it last week but C-Dub: that I did, and it's the one time I didn't say it where it was the Kyle Pitts game. Roc: He showed up in the fourth quarter. C-Dub: He did sure he sure did. and I I was looking at this game and I think you can give me different like this might be a hot take, I'm not sure. But like you can give me a game time in Bijan's total yards and I'll tell you if the Falcons are winning or losing. Roc: It was weird. I I get that you were losing by that much, but he's still probably the most explosive player in the entire league. And the fact that you kind of just cut him out completely of the game plan after half after the first half, it made no sense. He I was looking at because I was obviously locked in with the Giants, but I had it on a side TV and I was just like looking at box box score watching. He was at like fifty nine yards in like the first quarter, first half or something like that. And then I I looked in the fourth quarter, still at fifty nine yards total, and I'm like, did he get hurt? I go to Twitter, I'm looking up Bijan and he there he is, he's out there, they're just not getting him the rock. And I I I d I hated that. That you took him out way too early. I don't know. C-Dub: Yeah. It's one of those where like if you tell me, Bijan has eighty two all purpose going into the fourth, I'm like, this could be a ball game But if but when I looked kinda what you're saying, box score watching, seeing where he's at, I'm like, they're probably not in this game. 'Cause he's he is the measuring stick for the Falcons, I believe. Roc: Yes. Well one thing that I'm really, really glad about in this game is that I'm so glad that Caleb Williams is back and we can appreciate how good he actually is because he's a fire rod and that first week putting up all those points, running around, and then the Vikings hold them in check. Ugly game in bad conditions and he gets hurt and he's getting memed on Twitter and everyone's kinda flipping the sides like Going back to the he's kind of overrated, he's this, he's that. He comes out there, first game in a month, three or five, one touchdown, just just a a veteran game by him. And I I enjoyed watching him play, and I'm glad that he's back. The league's better when he's when he's out there balling. C-Dub: For sure. Roc: Yeah. Next game, dub. C dubs Jets. Patriots twenty six, Jets nineteen, but hey. What what do we got? C-Dub: The hook. The hook. The guy with the hook No and I Roc: The Hook Captain Hook. C-Dub: don't even know if you noticed, I forgot about this. Pat's mixed pass the pats mixed they missed a PAT. Roc: Yeah, yeah. You got a backdoor you got a nice little backdoor hook. Backdoor hook. C-Dub: In the hook. Yeah. I mean, my big takeaway from this is Pats are back. Roc: It they they they won ugly. It was the game was a lot close the game was close. It was close and I Yeah. C-Dub: They won't ugly, but they win those games. They win those games. I mean, Jets keep it hairy in the division match, but I mean the Pats lost this one. I would I would I would be shocked with how they've been playing recently. They do enough to win. That's that. Roc: Yeah. I my biggest note from this game was actually I had two notes, but the main one I'm gonna give him a little bit of s of a breather because he was on IR for the past six weeks and he got hurt the w got hurt week one, so he pretty much hasn't even had like a real game yet, real real run. But AJ Brown coming back and being targeted ten times and just not being able to catch the rock, he had three catches and or three drops. dropped an outside kick. They're putting him on special teams on hands team Just just to see one go through. And it went right through his hands. So that's that's a n knowing AJ Brown, knowing the the vocal player that he is and how high maintenance he can be, this could become a story. And I just want to see him go out there and hoop. I want to see him go out and play. I I think he's C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: he's one of the one of the ones in the league and I hope it doesn't get a bad like rap media wise if media runs with this and they're just gonna make this more than a story than it needs to be. C-Dub: Yeah. Yeah. I mean I don't think it's a storyline as of yet, but it could be if Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: this kind of play continues th throughout the next couple of weeks. Roc: And then my last note before this, before we move on, Omar Cooper, Jets rookie. Went out and bald. Six for one hundred and three, Tutty, he's back. I mean, if he if he if he's a guy, the Jets again, more pieces on the offense. They just need to get their their their quarterback and coach for the future. I'm gonna keep on banging banging C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: the drum for it. C-Dub: Still got Sadiq. I mean there's still I mean, I have Roc: Yeah. Garrett Wilson's a dog. C-Dub: a lot of I have a lot of hope for that offense. I mean it's just I think it's comes down to quarterback play and coaching. Roc: Yeah. Yeah. now we move into the four o'clock slate and dub. It really happened. I don't know how, but it really happened. Cardinals eighteen, Rams sixteen. What in the world is going on, dude? C-Dub: They have entered the no bet category for me. No bet category. Dude, Roc: What's going on? C-Dub: I had them in my Survivor League. They the most amount Roc: What? C-Dub: of money, the most amount of money was on them. And Roc: Like I I highlighted this game for us to talk about in our preview just because I thought it was gonna be a fun, like a lot of points. Like I expected the Rams to go out there and and do the job. But I asked this question last wednesday, I was like, is this a must win for LA? And we were like, we were like they're gonna win. Like we we just but we we didn't even think about it. We just it was a side thought. We were just like, Yeah, like yeah, it's I guess it's a must win, but what? Or the biggest question should be are they gonna cover the twelve and a half spread? Dude, they fall to two and four, a loss to the cards at home. I I don't understand. Yeah. C-Dub: Yeah, who who I had a under frisky. They're under frisky. They were kind of kind of bad. It's it's one of those where I lose my Survivor League, so I have a lot of animosity toward this Raiders team. This this Rams Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: team right now. A lot of animosity. it's one of those where like the Cardinals just did this and then are gonna lose by forty to the br to the Broncos next week. And then we're gonna wonder how Roc: But what what's cra C-Dub: the hell did this happen? Roc: What's crazy is that it wasn't like all right, the Cardinals just their offense like McBride went crazy, Wilson went crazy, Jacoby went for over three fifty, and Jeremiah Love was just grounding and pounding. They had six field goals. They put up eighteen points. They had six field goals. They didn't even find box. They didn't find paint the entire game. And they they C-Dub: No box. Roc: just beat the they they just beat the the The Super Bowl champs, the preseason, the offseason Super Bowl champs. Like what the fuck like what like what is wrong with the Rams? C-Dub: Yeah. Tough conversations have to be had there. I have a tough conversation around. Through his first six games, Matt Stafford's QBR is fourteenth, he is fifteenth in EPA per drop back, and seventeenth in passer rating amongst all qualifying quarterbacks. Should he have been in our mid category? Roc: Jeez. Jeez. I mean C-Dub: Should he have been our mid? Roc: I mean dub. If there's one thing that I know about ball, if there's one thing that I know about ball and I stand on it and it's been my it's been my my Bible for years. It's men lie, women lie. Stats do not lie, dub. In C-Dub: They do not. I mean, it's one of those where I mean you look at his game stats all these weeks and he's putting up big big points, but then you look at the s the stat lines. You look at how the how his team's doing. This is not the MVP staff that we knew from last year. And granted, he has all his weapons too. It's shocking. I just I just don't get it. I mean the stats say he's mid. And they and they're losing Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: games that they should be winning. Roc: it it's just weird that they are two and four and they're preseason favorites. They're probably were still the favorites up until this this loss. It they're obviously missing Miles Garrett. He's the best defender in the entire league, best one of the best in generation. He's gonna be all first battle hall of famer. I get it. That he him not being out there is impactful, but gosh, man, like for the Cardinals, that shouldn't I shouldn't make that much of a difference, but they need him to get healthy and their schedule does easen up. This was supposed to be the start of it getting a little easier and they can rattle off some wins, but losing to the Cardinals like this, I don't know what's considered easy anymore for them. And I I'm I'm eager to see how this next month plays out because it would be a crazy thought if the Rams fully missed the playoffs after all this offseason hype. C-Dub: That's what I was about to say. I'm gonna be so pissed off when this team makes the playoffs. I'm gonna be so pissed off. Roc: Yeah, and then somehow there'll be a wild so no, what's gonna be our our doomsday scenario is they somehow make the playoffs at nine and eight, eight and nine or something like that, sneaking as a wild card, Giants win the division and we get matched up with the Rams round one and just get the doors blown out on us. That's our doomsday. C-Dub: That is it that is that is push the red button scenario. Roc: I don't wanna speak into in the tuition but that's that's I I I'm I'm done with this game. C-Dub: Yeah, no, move on. Move on. Roc: Next game, four twenty five start. Kinda boring also. Chiefs twenty two, chargers six. And I again dog do the Chargers have a win? C-Dub: No, I don't care. I don't care. I don't care. Roc: So time so time of day. I don't my segment, time of day. I I'm not I'm not talking about the Chargers. Chiefs, Chiefs did their job. It was another Kenneth Walker K9 masterclass. 128, running hard. Mahomes did his thing, 270, nothing crazy, nothing, like no nothing that's gonna make you be like, whoa, whoa. It was just, you know, they did their thing. They did their job. C-Dub: Again, I don't care about this game. This I don't care about soccer about it. Roc: That that's all I had on it, 'cause I'm not talking about the Chargers and the Chiefs didn't do anything like really noteworthy. You know, they they did their job. They they won a football game. C-Dub: They sure did. Roc: And then on to the last four o'clock game. Bills thirty three, Raiders thirty. This was fun, dub. This was a fun game. C-Dub: I'm I yeah. The Raiders are just gonna keep doing this. And Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: by what I mean is play these competitive games against against top ranked opponents and fall short and keep losing. They lose the Chiefs by three in that one thriller. They lose to the Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: Bills. I mean, granted they tried to they to recover an onside kick to make this to give themselves a chance. So I mean, was it really that close? But I mean The score was thirty three thirty. I mean, it was close. I think this still makes them a fun team. And you know who else lost to the Chiefs by three? Roc: Colts. C-Dub: The Colts. That's just crazy. That's just madness. Roc: It's it's C-Dub: It's so funny. Roc: It's one of those where we talked about right after the Raiders lost to the Chiefs and we like, like we're like proud almost of the Raiders. Like, I'm proud of you. Like it was a good job. Like that's how I feel like C-Dub: Yeah, they're just gonna keep doing it though. Roc: like like I like I'm proud of you. It was it was a good game. Like you're a good team, but you're not you're you're you're just like one of the mid, the bottom teams, but you're good enough to be mid, but not great enough to be good. And That that it just sucks if I'm a Raiders fan 'cause you're just gonna keep on having the the like pat on the head meme where it's just we're proud of you. You you did you did good, kid. You d you did you you did good. C-Dub: Kind of come up with a hot take then. I think the Raiders are shooting themselves in the foot by playing at this level. Because Roc: I do tell, do tell. C-Dub: Kirk is playing at a good enough level as a quarterback to make to keep keep giving him the not at start. When do you put Mr Mendoza in? When do you put him in? He's because Kirk is playing at a level where you want to be competitive and you know he'll keep you competitive. But at some point you're losing to these good teams. When do you say we're gonna not rebuild, but we're just gonna take the ups and the downs with it with a rookie quarterback that we took First overall and see where that takes us. Roc: Here's my opinion, and I've been on this I've been standing on this since the offseason, since week one, when they gave the nod to Kirk Cousins, which I thought was the right idea. I think the plan the entire time, unless like they are first in the AFC West, like a top of the division, top of the conference, whatever. I think the plan the entire time was play Kirk Cousins the first eleven weeks, and then I'm pretty sure they have their bye week twelve, and then let Mendoza ride out the last six games. I think that was a plan from the start. And the fact that they're playing so well. in that Kirk's playing well, I think is what Kupiek wants. You have a brand new head coach, you want to instill a winning culture in a team. You don't want you you don't want to be 0 and eleven and then be like, okay, like now Mendoza's gonna come in, but let's look forward to next year. No, you you wanna have that that winning culture. You want to know what winning looks like and you want to build on this in the next year. So come week eleven if they're out out of the playoff race like I like which I assume, which we assume, right? Unless they're in the mix. Unless they're still fully in the mix and like comfortably in the division or in the playoff picture, like fully in, then you just keep going with Kirk Cousins. But if you're out of it, I think their plan from the the jump was Mendoza after the bye week, let know during the bye that he's gonna be playing the rest of the year and take take the training wheels off and just let let him go out there. I think that was the the plan. C-Dub: but back to yeah, no, but back to my point. Like let's say the Chiefs and the Bills blow your doors off. Would you put would you put Mendoza in now? You still wouldn't? Roc: No, I don't think that they I I think they're planned from the jump. Gar Clint Kupiek is a smart head coach. Who's who's running the football operations there? Tom Brady. What has Tom Brady said multiple times through the last five years since he's been retired? There's a development developmental problem for young quarterbacks in this league. The l i the people are coming out of college and they're just not ready and they're not developing. And who can say at best other than the goat who didn't come into the league right away and start, he had to sit behind, he had to learn, he had to learn. So I think they know what they're doing there, and I think they actually have a good or organization and a good group underneath them. That this was the plan the entire time. You bring in a vet that's Kirk Cousins that's just like Mendoza. It's literally like a copy and paste like, yo, you can copy my homework, but don't just change the words a little bit. It's the exact same thing. Then they had this plan from from the off season from March and I I think they're just gonna stick with it and it's kinda it's going the way that they want it right now. They're C-Dub: Yeah, no, I g I mean your your logic your logic is sound. Roc: That's just my opinion. That's how I felt the past three months. That's how I felt. C-Dub: Your logic is sound, however, I think as a Raiders fan it's gonna get boring at some point. When you have him sitting there. Roc: And until that bye week, I think. C-Dub: No, no, hey. And I th I mean sound logic again. Roc: I think it that's that's the b I think this is the best thing. I think it's the best thing for him and the best thing for your organization. Yes, as a fan, it's probably boring, but we say it all the time when a team goes and takes a lineman top ten. You're like, come on man, like I want I want the stud wide receiver. How'd Penny Sewell work out for the Lions? Stud. Like you you have to do you have to have those building blocks and you have to take the fundamental steps if you want to be a good organization 'cause it will pay dividends in the long run. In my opinion. C-Dub: Yeah, no, that was just my point. But I mean it again, if I'm a Raiders fan, if I mean, I guess we're assuming they're not gonna be in the mix. If they are, I mean keep keep it with the hot hand, but at some point I think gotta get some guy get the guy some reps. Roc: Yeah. then we have in our have our Sunday Ender Primetime Sunday night football, Packers twenty three, Cowboys thirteen. How about them boys, Stub? Going down, baby. Going down. C-Dub: It wasn't even but we always say this, it's usually a fun watch at the Cowboys. This wasn't fun. This was not fun. And Roc: Yeah. I yeah. C-Dub: I'm and I'm gonna come out here the NFC NFC East is no longer fun. It's sad. The NFC East is sad. Roc: no. If if the commanders if the commanders lose tonight it will be two straight weeks where the NFC East just didn't record a win for two straight weeks. C-Dub: Yeah, I mean Dak Roc: You got eight opportunities. C-Dub: Dak perfectly mid. Let up a stinker. Roc: It yeah. on the Cowboys end I really didn't have much to say. I I all I had to say was the the Packers look good. They look explosive. I like that they're throwing the ball downfield. Love is taking shots to Golden and Watson downfield and they're giving their stud young studs that are burners that are flyers, they're giving them shots downfield, and that's what they should have been doing to start the year. And LaFleur was just being so cautious, being checked down merchant. When you have this stud quarterback who has all the potential in the world with Jordan Love and two burner at rece two burners at receivers, start taking some shots and now look what's happening. Your offense actually looks good. C-Dub: They do look good. I mean, they're they're one of the most fun offenses to watch, in my opinion, because you they're gonna uncork the ball. I mean, these past few weeks, you know that. I mean, going back to the Cowboys, I mean it's the stat that I saw was 4.9 yards per attempt when throwing the pickens and lamb. You're not gonna win a game. You're not gonna win a game with that. Roc: Yeah, it's it's we it's I I'm shocked at how little shots and and whatever, deep shots, threats that that they're the Cowboys are like doing with pickings. I don't understand it. He just went last year for fourteen hundred and double digit touchdowns, st top ten receiver in the league and now you're just giving him a back roll, back seat roll. I I don't understand. Start taking some shots of them, right? I mean C-Dub: Yeah. Yeah. No, for sure. Roc: One thing I'll know the Packers offense still can't run the ball really. I I don't know what Josh Jacobs situation is. I know he got off the commissioners' exempt list. I don't know what that fully intels of like when he's gonna play or not, 'cause I know that there's like video footage. I don't know how that's all all gonna fold out, but if he does come back this season, then maybe that helps their run game a little bit. But yeah, I don't know. Packers moved to four and two and Right up there in the NFC NFC North. They're fun offense now. So C-Dub: They are a fun offense. Yeah. also big penalty game. It Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: was a big penalty game. But I mean, at the end, Packers sneak it out. I mean Yeah, I mean my takeaway is I just the the NFC East is no longer fun. I I remember talking about it before when all of them were in the mix, and now it's just let's just get a win. Let's find a win. Let's find a let's find Roc: Blah blah. Yeah. C-Dub: a win somewhere. Roc: It's wide open. That I will say. C-Dub: Yeah. Yeah. Roc: And we'll do our quick quick takes for tonight's Monday Night Football game. Again, I like I like doing it we record before the game, so we either look like geniuses or we look completely stupid. We got Monday Night Football commanders at 49ers. Forty Niners seven and a half point favorites with an overunder of fifty and a half. And my quick take is Niners are gonna put BTA to the commanders. C-Dub: Yeah. I mean I don't see no I don't see a world where this doesn't happen. Niners have have looked dominant. I don't think they have the horses in the stable to keep up with the forty niners offense with how they've been playing. I'll be taking Kittle's yards. I'm not even sure what it's at. I looked earlier today and didn't write it down. But Roc: I haven't I haven't done any research for looking at lines, so after after we get done recording here, I'm gonna go look, but I'm gonna give the viewers my prenaceived take. I think it's big Mike Evans game tonight. C-Dub: You think so? Roc: Yeah, I j I I think he might find paint twice and maybe not yardage wise, but he'll find he'll find box twice tonight and it'll be a big a big Mike game. C-Dub: After looking at Kittle's yards, they're at 67 and a half. I might not take that because that is the highest out of any receiver. Nice. Nice. yeah, Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: I like Kittle, but that's a it's a steep, steep yardage there. But we'll we'll we'll get our takes out. Again, I mean, there's not a world where I see the commanders I mean, there's a world where they cover but not win. I mean, I'm just kind of scared after our our Rams game. to put too much faith on a on a spread that's over seven points. Roc: I trust the Niners though at home. I think they are a da I said it last week, they're just a damn good ball club and I think they they they'll do a job. And I guess we'll we'll find C-Dub: They will do a job. Roc: out in about two and a half, three hours. So we'll leave the listeners there and we'll C-Dub: Yeah, yeah. yeah. Roc: catch you on the flip side, right? C-Dub: Sounds good. Alright, see you guys. And we're live. What a game. Final score. Let me fuck. Com Commander 17, 49ers 23. And I was just telling Buck before we started this, and I said save it for the pod. I I turned this game off at halftime and then go about my night and then look down. Middle of the fourth, I'm like, what is going on? I was flabbergasted. Aaron: What's what's great is I did the exact opposite. I totally missed the entire first half, just was busy and honestly had interest in the game, not dying interest in watching the commander's niners, but I was like, perfect. Second half, and I watched them there. And I would kind of turn on, good Niners are blowing them out, yada yada. And then it was just like I look over and they have 10. Then I look over and they have 17, and I was like, what's happening? This is a one-score game. C-Dub: Wha w what did I miss? Jaden ends the ends it with 300 passing yards. Dog. Played well. I mean, didn't play enough to cover my forty rushing yards. But I mean, did enough Aaron: Yeah. How about ten? C-Dub: to get him keep him close. Stefan Diggs got hurt, didn't he? Aaron: So th I before Terry McLaurin went down bad. But no, he I I saw him have a catch towards the end. but so here C-Dub: Terry McLaurin did, but then did Stefan get hurt or something, or am I just messing that up? he did. He did. You're right, you're right, Terry. Aaron: here here's one of the stories of watching this game. I had about four different that guy's playing football for them. One Stefan Diggs. I mean I knew it, but still, like I saw C-Dub: Yeah yeah. Aaron: him make a catch and I and I see Diggs and I was like, yeah, Diggs does play for them. Let's see. I can I can I can I can go down C-Dub: He's been he's been doing having a hell of a year too. He's been doing pretty good. Aaron: the list. Like, when did Rasul Douglas get on the commanders? how about how about Austin Eckler catch catching a pass? Like, I mean I know he had one one carry, but we get I can go to the Niners. How about Brandon Cooks? Like this game was like the most like the irrelevant of the irrelevance just making some little plays that I it was like one of those where I had like clean the clean the glasses off and say, That guy's still playing football? Brand was that Brandon C-Dub: No, that's fair. Aaron: Cooks or Yeah, y I mean it was good it was good stuff. Good stuff. C-Dub: I mean, I think the nine Niners three three and outs in a row. Commanders c call something at the end there. But I think it's gonna be the story of their s their season. It's gonna be when it comes down to crunch time, just these mistakes that they make. And I think I mean, I think the big mistake is not getting a playoff and having to use that time out. That first time out. I Aaron: Yes. Huge. C-Dub: it just goes right back to that. Like you you're still in front you're You have a lot in front of you, you still got the two minute warning, and you burn one already. I Aaron: Mm-hmm. Yep. C-Dub: mean that's just that's just subtract forty seconds from the clock. And then Jane Damns with that intentional grounding. I mean, they were they were not that they found a rhythm, but they were moving the ball pretty well. I mean, they still have to keep keep clocking it, and that's fine. I mean, Aaron: Mm-hmm. Absolutely. C-Dub: get closer and closer. Aaron: person I really saw making a difference in the second half was Antonio Williams. A a name I had to do some research on, but making some plays. I mean, Traylon Burks is playing in this football game. That guy was traded for AJ Brown on draft night. What a what a mess this game was. f real quick dub, I got a question for ya. C-Dub: Hit me with it. Aaron: There was someone who played in tonight's game that once again proved to me tonight he is far and away the best player at his position in the entire league. Do you know who I'm talking about? C-Dub: Is he on defense? Aaron: Defense. C-Dub: Is he on the the forty niners? Aaron: yeah. C-Dub: Is his name Fred Warner? Aaron: yeah. I think sometimes I think sometimes like C-Dub: Bulldower Aaron: sometimes a little bit to TV and like we all have a favorite team and and we watch a game and outside of the like eliminate quarterbacks from this conversation. There's players that I watch and I'm like, man, he'd be awesome to have on the Bills. And anyone can do that. I get like this isn't Madison Fantasy League. But like yesterday I thought that with Max Crosby. Max Crosby is standing next to every single play. I watched Fred Warner tonight. That guy, I mean, I don't have to say that he's a machine. Everyone knows it, but like it's he's actually just like it's a freak of nature. A freak of nature. He like you can C-Dub: Yeah. There are some there're just some dudes that like heat s heat seek balls. Or the balls it's like yeah, he has like a magnet somewhere and the ball just goes right to wherever he is. Aaron: That just like are attracted to it. It just, it's fascinating to me. Like, I'm almost on the brink of like, is he the best defensive player in the entire league? And I don't want to know if I want to go that far, but like he's just everywhere. And I don't both these teams, I mean, this is probably the first commander's game I watched this season. I mean, I've watched the 90s few times. They that throw against Seattle. It was a great game. But like, dude, like it's just unbelievable. Like every time you turn, 54 is right there. Like I just don't get I I don't get it. And then I think to myself, obviously he's a freak, but like every team has linebackers. Why don't I see their linebackers right next to every single play? Like what are they doing different? And I get like he's just an athletic specimen, he's a gamer. But I he I just was like mesmerized. there's fifty four. Right next to him again. Like how? I saw fifty four running that way and now he's at the bottom of the screen. Like, how did that happen? Uh-huh. Mm-hmm. C-Dub: And consistent. I mean Yep. Consistent. I mean he got hurt the last year, but I mean whenever guy's on the field is making a difference. And I I mean it Aaron: It's just C-Dub: also kind of sh I think it also another guy in the forty niners that might be a top top of his position and went out early and kind of showed how he could a Aaron: Mm-hmm. C-Dub: sta how stagnant an offense could be as Mike Evans. I mean Aaron: Yeah. Yep. C-Dub: I think I mean he goes out with thirteen left in the third. and they just stop having any sort of production. He ended the night with 94 yards on three receptions, which is insane. Aaron: Yeah. C-Dub: I mean just just to have an out like for Purdy, just to have an outlet like that. Guy just playing at a top level. Aaron: Just he continues to prove that he's one of the most reliable receivers, probably to ever play the game. Like that doesn't mean he's the best. That doesn't mean this, but he's just reliable. He's consistent. I mean, there's a reason why he has that insane he had that insane streak of a thousand yard seasons ever since entering the league. and I always thought I love when players spend a whole career with a team. And I was just like, I want that guy to die a buck. But like, now that I see it, yeah, I'm okay with him being on the Niners. It it fits. C-Dub: And then you just kinda it fits and then I think i i i it's nice you get those one team one team guys. Think about Larry Fitz, you think about that, but Aaron: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. And like yeah. C-Dub: like with with with with Mike, it's like he was bird for so long. Aaron: Yeah, like tell me and he tell me he's not a niner. Like George Kittle is a niner. Like, like, like, who else is who else is a good Niner example? Kyle Huczek is a niner. Like, like Trent C-Dub: That's a niner. That's a niner. Aaron: Williams, by the way, played for both these teams. Trent Williams is a niner. Like, C-Dub: Yes. Aaron: like Mike Evans, like I actually watched him like, my God, that guy was actually he was obviously meant to be a buck. I mean, won a Super Bowl with him. But like, if there was anywhere else he could have gone, he was meant to be a niner. It makes sense now that I see it. C-Dub: Yeah, it's just like I guess it's gritty? Is that the word for it? maybe. But yeah, no Aaron: Yeah. Yeah. As as for the as for the commanders though, real quick, I mean S Fan Sam Fran moves to six and A lot of injuries, but I they just keep winning games. I don't really know where. The commanders are in a weird spot. C-Dub: Yeah, Aaron, don't tell Rocco this. Aaron: Mm-hmm. C-Dub: I was kinda rooting for him. Because I kinda wanted at least one team from the NFC East to get one win in two weeks. Aaron: my god, yes, this is a f it's official. C-Dub: Yeah, they have it in two straight weeks. No NF no NFC East team has won a game. Aaron: I'm as I'm assuming you guys touched on it. C-Dub: We did, yes. Aaron: The only thing I wanna add, which I'm sure you guys said this, n more impressive than the fact that it's two straight weeks, and eight, the more impressive fact is two teams split each other in those two weeks. It's like I C-Dub: Yes indeed. Yes indeed. Hurts to say. Like there was a part of me that was like, I really hope the commanders win so there's I don't wake up and bleach your report has the sad graphics. Aaron: Yeah. The NFC least. But C-Dub: It's just it's terrible. It's terrible. Aaron: but dub, I don't know if you got anything else. I don't really have much else on this game. C-Dub: Do you have any cleanup? Do you have any clean up from just any other any other other games now that I have you here? Aaron: a little cleanup around the league. Titans finally get their first win. The Colts are just a disaster firing their GM week five of the season. Like, okay, sure. C-Dub: I mean that's a bad loss though. You gotta say, something had something had Aaron: Hor C-Dub: to happen Aaron: horrendous. Another thriller in London. the Jalen Hurts just what a mess. I mean I if I was the Eagles, I probably wouldn't play another game this season. We might be with thir we might be with thirty one teams by the time the final week runs around. yeah, not not much. Though I don't have a word of the week like I did last week with the clock management. It was just it was a week of football. The matchups were like not I don't want to say not great this week, but I remember looking it over and there was no like absolute thrilling matchups. Either Yeah. C-Dub: I guess, yeah. Crazy s no crazy storylines either. Aaron: Yeah, like like Niners stay undefeated, Kansas City stays undefeated. New England seems to be catching the stride back. Like I kind of just I don't know, this week didn't like move the needle on anyone in any way, I would say. Mm-hmm. C-Dub: I we already talked about it about it. Any th any thoughts on Cleveland Ravens? Aaron: Mm mm. That was actually probably the that was actually probably one of the bigger ones of the week. Mm-hmm. C-Dub: That was that was that was probably that was probably a game like if there's any game we look back on from this week is probably that one. When the season wraps up. Aaron: Yeah. Like Obviously you d you don't care how you win. I love all I love saying that. No one asks how you win. But I mean the Browns are just they're just gritting it out. C-Dub: They're gritty. Aaron: They're just gritting it out. It's so goddamn hideous. But they're just gritting it out. C-Dub: It's it's give it's give give to Sean Aaron: Mm-hmm. C-Dub: just a l little bit of a shot. Just a little bit of the Aaron: Yeah. C-Dub: shot in the fourth and he'll get he'll get you there. He'll find a way to get you there. Aaron: Like there was to me there was just some like random games yesterday. Like to me, most random game, I don't know if this is just me. Bears, Falcons, like that game happened. Like I know Caleb Williams returned, but like it hit Sunday Night Football yesterday, and I was like, the Bears and Falcons play today? Like, Bijan did nothing in the game, really. Caleb W Caleb C-Dub: We yeah, we touched on it. Aaron: yeah, Caleb like fine, but I was like, maybe that was totally just me. And it probably is just me, but I was like like I like when you I like when you say a game happened. Like that's what I kinda thought about that. I like, a game happened, apparently. Didn't even know. But yeah, that's about C-Dub: It games did happen. Yeah. Yeah. hey. Aaron: all I got. C-Dub: Yeah, no. I had my parley tonight was I had I altered the Altered the c the forty niners to three and a half. That one hit. Aaron: Mm. Mm-hmm. C-Dub: I had Mike Evans any time. He goes out. I mean I don't even Aaron: He probably was gonna hit too. C-Dub: I mean, by the way he was moving. There was he was about to he was gonna chew up a big one. And then I had Jane Daniels rush yards, as I alluded to. That one did not hit either. He didn't really use his legs too much. And I think that's a strategy Aaron: Yeah. He was moving. He was moving. Hmm. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yep. C-Dub: that teams kinda have to key up on 'cause you saw Aaron: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. C-Dub: with the Giants. I mean, broke two off. Just but you know, they seem to really key up. I mean y you gotta give credit to San Francisco's defense. With the end there. I mean they really Aaron: Mm-hmm. C-Dub: They were on the ropes, they found a way at the end just to do get some great pass breakups, do some really good really good really good just one on one plays. Aaron: Mm-hmm. C-Dub: We gotta ask, I gotta go make a play. Aaron: Two two super quick questions for ya. I'm gonna I'm gonna mention two things that from this past week I wanna say if like overhyped, underhyped are perfectly rated, okay? You ready? First one, eighteen. C-Dub: Double nine. I think the rest of the league is gonna say overhypes. I'm I I mean I'm just excited. How can I not be? Aaron: I was happy for him. C-Dub: I mean, how can you not be? It's one of those but it's one of those things where I think Jameis and JJ are s t such different quarterbacks. The game plan going against both of them is so different. Aaron: Mm, mm. Mm-hmm. C-Dub: I don't know what it looks like if you give a defense a whole week. To look at Nine's tape. And see how it goes, but I mean when he when he this league is when you get when you get asked to perform when your number gets called, you step up. And and damn d damn did he step up. So it's it I mean Yeah. Aaron: Yep. He stepped up. I love it. God, I love when a backup quarterback steps up. It's awesome. Obviously it's not awesome because your starter's down, but like, and then two more for you, because I just thought of one. Rams. C-Dub: I just to say I was screaming at my T V more, I think, for any Giants game than wouldn't and I I already talked about Rocco. I maybe Aaron: Yeah. Mm-hmm. C-Dub: since the time of the recording before this game, I probably watched the the neighbors the JJ neighbors catch maybe maybe f maybe ten more times. I already I watched it ten more times. It Aaron: Mm, mm-hmm. Poetry. C-Dub: was so sick. they lost me my Survivor League, the Rams did. I I dead. Dead. I Aaron: Mm. Mm. So dead to you? C-Dub: I told Rock and I'll We're re reiterating a lot, but it's just fun talking ball. Aaron: Yeah. Yeah, yeah. C-Dub: They're one of those teams that's gonna find a way into the playoffs. And I'm just gonna be so mad that they found a way. And and because Aaron: Mm-hmm. Yeah. they will. C-Dub: they got bunnies these next couple weeks. Aaron: Mm-hmm. C-Dub: This is supposed to be the start of their good stretch. It's just one of those where you n Sean McVay finds a way. That's a good that's a good rhyme. Trademark that. Aaron: Mm-hmm. C-Dub: But yeah, I mean Aaron: And then one last one and we'll end on this. C-Dub: Ugh, dead. Yeah. Aaron: Overhyped perfectly or underhyp. That Josh Allen flip. C-Dub: That was sick. I mean, probably a perfect amount of hype. I mean, as a you just gotta respect greatness when Aaron: It was being called C-Dub: it happens. But he does but the thing is, like, Aaron: I I I've seen s yeah. C-Dub: I'm not surprised at the same time. Like, he just does that shit. Aaron: What what what I find what I find interesting is just two quick things. One is all today I heard and yesterday is just alien. Just an alien. And sometimes I don't think we take for granted like what we're actually witnessing. And I love And it's true about everything in life. The bad always outsh out shadows the good. Everyone wants to talk about the bad and everything. No one ever wants talk about the good. And I always say, like, when Alan does something stupid and throws the pick, I'm just like, Yeah, Alan don't do that. But he gives you a play like that. And it's like Just yeah, like I'm not I can never get I'm obviously when he turned over five times or whatever against the Chargers, that's not good. Like there's no excuse for that. But like if he's gonna do something like that and make Max Max Crosby miss like two other raiders defenders and just flip it 15 yards down the field to wide open player that somehow he saw and he did say he's like, I didn't know if I threw a touchdown or an interception when I got tackled after throwing it. But like just alien. Alien's the only way to put it. But so that's all that's all C-Dub: Way to put it. Aaron: I got. C-Dub: No, hey, good take. yeah, that was a crazy one. I just that guy's a bill. Aaron: He's a Bill. If he goes over somewhere else, he won't be any He's such a Bill. Yeah, dude. C-Dub: That guy's a Bill. such a bill. Just getting bounced by the Chiefs every year. Aaron: I mean, yeah, it just makes sense. C-Dub: It's a bill. That's a bill. Through and through. Aaron: Life's a full circle. Chiefs undefeated. It's just Niners undefeated. They'll probably meet in the Super Bowl for the third time in the last like seven years. Yeah, I just this world just keeps going like this. Spending Yeah. Yeah. We'll see. C-Dub: Nah, but this time it's gonna be different though. This time we'll be different. And with that, we clean it up. Put a little bow on week six. Aaron: Mm-hmm. C-Dub: Good times. Maybe the NFC East will gonna win next Aaron: Maybe. I hope. C-Dub: Til then, see you later swap nation. Aaron: See ya. C-Dub: Peace.
