- 0:00Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. I saw this thing from BuzzFeed again. I
- 0:02Speaker 1: love BuzzFeed. They do some really fun articles and I'm
- 0:05Speaker 1: just going to go around the room and share stuff.
- 0:07Speaker 1: But I don't even know how if you're listening, you
- 0:09Speaker 1: want to participate. That'd be great. But it says, have
- 0:12Speaker 1: you ever wondered about asking your doctor a silly question? Yes,
- 0:16Speaker 1: you have. Sure. I've wondered about that before. You've asked
- 0:20Speaker 1: them a silly question. What type of silly questions? Like
- 0:22Speaker 1: something that you should probably know or something that, you know, like,
- 0:25Speaker 1: you know. Like, BuzzFeed collected stories from doctors and healthcare
- 0:29Speaker 1: workers that shared the moments when their patients did something
- 0:31Speaker 1: unbelievably dumb. For example, a man removed a knife from
- 0:36Speaker 1: his torso and called 911. Their first piece of advice
- 0:39Speaker 1: was to not pull the knife out. Yeah. So before
- 0:43Speaker 1: paramedics arrived, he put the knife back in. Oh, no. Sorry.
- 0:49Speaker 1: Re-injured himself. But did it re-plug up the wound? I
- 0:52Speaker 1: hope it did. I hope it was worth it. A
- 0:55Speaker 1: mother brought her healthy three-month-old baby into the emergency room because, quote,
- 0:59Speaker 1: he was laughing inappropriately. What? It's probably gas. Right. He
- 1:05Speaker 1: was all scared. He's possessed. Okay, so has everyone in
- 1:09Speaker 1: here been in an MRI machine? You ever take an MRI? Yeah.
- 1:12Speaker 1: When you get in the machine, you go in and
- 1:15Speaker 1: it'll go... It's so unusually loud, you almost think it's funny,
- 1:19Speaker 1: like it's a joke. Yeah. And so what they'll do sometimes,
- 1:22Speaker 1: they'll give you earplugs for the MRI machine. I just
- 1:25Speaker 1: did it for my knee. So a man was handed
- 1:26Speaker 1: earplugs for his MRI and he immediately swallowed them. Oh!
- 1:30Speaker 1: That wasn't candy. It wasn't a treat. I thought they
- 1:33Speaker 1: were pills or something. He's like, oh, thank you very much.
- 1:38Speaker 1: A patient had to take some pills before his eye surgery.
- 1:42Speaker 1: He was worried about how he was going to get
- 1:43Speaker 1: the pills into his eyes. And these are real things
- 1:48Speaker 1: that doctors have shared. Some of the dumbest thing their
- 1:50Speaker 1: patients have ever done. I had to take this shot
- 1:52Speaker 1: every once in a while, by the way. I just
- 1:53Speaker 1: thought of this for me. You ever seen those shots?
- 1:57Speaker 1: You've seen it on TV, like the Ozempic shots. They
- 2:00Speaker 1: make them for you, right? But this wasn't Ozempic. This
- 2:02Speaker 1: was this thing I did. I had to take some
- 2:03Speaker 1: heart medicine for a while. And you take your thumb
- 2:06Speaker 1: and you just push it in. I had it the
- 2:08Speaker 1: reverse way. And when I pushed it, the injection, all
- 2:11Speaker 1: the medicine went into my thumb. And my thumb turned
- 2:13Speaker 1: into this huge bubble for like 45 minutes. And I
- 2:16Speaker 1: had to call my doctor and go, oh my God,
- 2:18Speaker 1: I did this wrong. I should have taken a picture
- 2:20Speaker 1: of it. Was it an EpiPen? Yeah, it's like an EpiPen. Yeah, okay.
- 2:22Speaker 1: It's like an EpiPen. But now the EpiPens are like
- 2:25Speaker 1: ozepics in there, testosterone's in there. Yeah, they're like... Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 2:29Speaker 1: One man didn't understand how vasectomies worked, so he asked
- 2:33Speaker 1: his doctor if he can keep him once they finished
- 2:35Speaker 1: the surgery. I think he thought it was his testicles.
- 2:40Speaker 1: A pregnant teen insisted she couldn't be pregnant because she
- 2:43Speaker 1: ate an apple the day after sex. Someone was messing
- 2:49Speaker 1: with her. A woman and her boyfriend were both taking
- 2:53Speaker 1: her birth control pills because they thought that's how it worked.
- 2:55Speaker 1: There's other forms of birth control for men now. I
- 2:58Speaker 1: feel like the woman was like, if I'm taking this,
- 3:00Speaker 1: you're taking this. That's funny. A patient complained... that he
- 3:05Speaker 1: coughed whenever he inhaled water in the shower. Doctors said, drowning.
- 3:10Speaker 1: That's called drowning. Don't inhale the water in the shower.
- 3:14Speaker 1: There's like a whole list of them. They're pretty funny.
- 3:16Speaker 1: I love what this made us feel really smart today,
- 3:17Speaker 1: and I appreciate that. In fact, click on the list.
- 3:20Speaker 1: If you got any more, if you're in the medical field,
- 3:22Speaker 1: please share with us. Or whatever field you're in, just
- 3:25Speaker 1: the dumb things that people said to you. God, there's
- 3:29Speaker 1: a whole bunch. I worked as a medical assistant and
- 3:32Speaker 1: OBGYN patient called to make an appointment because she needed
- 3:35Speaker 1: a fallopian tube. I was confused. I asked her, she
- 3:37Speaker 1: meant that she wanted to get her tube stopped. She said, no,
- 3:39Speaker 1: I'm trying to get pregnant. So I need to get
- 3:41Speaker 1: a fallopian tube. Definitely. Just order one of those. There's
- 3:46Speaker 1: a whole bunch of these. These are great. So anyway,
- 3:48Speaker 1: if you got something you can share, please text us
- 3:50Speaker 1: or call us at 877-937-1047.
