- 0:07Welcome back to the Simply Christ podcast hosted by Leon
- 0:11Martin, along with Aaron Keaton, Melvin Martin, Andrew Schrock
- 0:15and Dan Blatz. Let's get right to it.
- 0:18All righty, we are ready to kick off another Bible study webinar
- 0:24tonight and further discuss some of the diversities of gifts or
- 0:31some of the gifts of the Spirit and looking forward to that
- 0:37tonight. Before we get started though,
- 0:40I'll let Aaron open up. Aaron, open us up with a word of
- 0:44prayer. Our most holy and righteous
- 0:47Father, we are thankful and grateful to be able to study
- 0:52your word again. And we just asked for an
- 0:53outstanding way as she would direct us as we go through this,
- 0:58that we would not that we would not direct people in the wrong
- 1:05way, but that we would be able to open up the passages and make
- 1:09them clear and understandable. And that you would guide us
- 1:12through your spirit to do that and to be able to help our help
- 1:18each other to understand and help those that are listening.
- 1:20And that we might all be inspired to know you a little
- 1:23better and to see your character more clearly as we study your
- 1:28word. Just ask your blessing on us as
- 1:30we do so. Just pray that you'd be with
- 1:34each one that is listening that they might grow in their
- 1:38understanding because they're able to put the maybe the
- 1:43preconceived notions that they have about these things out of
- 1:47their mind and just hear your word clearly as if for the first
- 1:50time. All these things we ask in
- 1:52Christ precious name, Amen. All righty, Andrew, I'll let you
- 2:01kick us off here. But so we are in First
- 2:06Corinthians chapter 12 and we have been woven through most
- 2:13recently kind of the the doctrine of baptism.
- 2:17And we ended up with had a baptism of the Spirit.
- 2:22We talked about that and then we kind of went into the gifts of
- 2:26the Spirit here. And it's been an interesting
- 2:30study through a bunch of different subjects.
- 2:32So most recently here, though, if you haven't been listening in
- 2:38every week, we are ready for I guess we'll bounce off of verse
- 2:4225 to kind of get get started in here a little bit.
- 2:48And and then just finished kind of the rest of the chapters.
- 2:51What we're going to do tonight. If we don't murder a full hour,
- 2:53that's OK. But we just got I want to kind
- 2:56of close with the the gifts here that he talks about at the end
- 3:01here. So we just we just went through
- 3:05hearing about, you know, the members US being, you know, a
- 3:11part of a complete body, which is a a beautiful picture of how
- 3:17that we as believers in the are a part of the body of Christ.
- 3:25None of us and by itself is the whole, but rather we each have a
- 3:32job to do and one that God specifically made us for.
- 3:38But on top of that, then he also gives us gifts to operate in
- 3:43besides that. So really interesting discussion
- 3:48the last two weeks about this. And one of the things that I
- 3:52said this last week was that it's clear that the the gifts of
- 3:58the Spirit are for it says the manifestation of the Spirit is
- 4:05given to every man to profit with all.
- 4:08So it's something that brings value to the body or to God
- 4:13through US gives, you know, something that's profitable.
- 4:18Is it it adds value. It you know, you start with 10
- 4:21bucks and if it's something's profitable, it'll turn into 20
- 4:24kind of a thing. So it's it's like that.
- 4:27And then here in verse 25, which is what we're bounced out of, he
- 4:32says that there's that there should be no schism in the body,
- 4:35but that the members should have the same care one for another.
- 4:38We talked about this a little bit last week, but I'll let you
- 4:41take off with this, Andrew. It seems to me that the part of
- 4:48the reason that there's these different members of and there's
- 4:51not just one hole necessarily is that there should be no schism
- 4:55in the body. In other words, one person we
- 4:58each meld together to make a a complete unit, which God calls
- 5:04the you eventually is going to be the bride of Christ is going
- 5:06to be his his bride. So Andrew, I'll let you bounce
- 5:10from there. Yeah, according to my
- 5:12understanding of schism is there's that's like a a void or
- 5:16a gap. And if if we have a lot of those
- 5:22gaps in the body, then we're going to suffer.
- 5:24It's not going to be closely knit where if the one part of
- 5:31the body hurts and if there's a great distance between us, we're
- 5:36not going to feel it. Like there's a disconnect.
- 5:39And he's making the argument that if we all operate in the
- 5:43gifts and we all do our part and just like the body loves itself,
- 5:50like if, if, like I said last time, if my, even my little toe
- 5:55hurts, it will get my, the rest of the body's attention.
- 5:59There's no schism between me and my little toe.
- 6:04It I'm connected with it, I'm it, it's, it's not alone.
- 6:09It's not separate. It's not feeling like it's by
- 6:12itself. And it can hurt.
- 6:14Nobody else notices. No, when the little toe hurts,
- 6:18I'm my whole body moves to try to nurture that and let make
- 6:23that stop hurting. And that's the analogy he keeps.
- 6:26He's still driving here over and over.
- 6:31If, if we're working in the gifts, then everybody will
- 6:34benefit and we'll actually, like you said, all will profit from
- 6:39it. When there's no skis in between
- 6:40us that we're connected and we feel it and we know it and we
- 6:44get to know each other and we're like a rope that can't be broken
- 6:47because we're all intertwined together.
- 6:50When 111 member hurts or one member goes off the deep end, or
- 6:55one member falls in the sin or gets weak or whatever, we all
- 7:03are part of it. We don't just say, well, that's
- 7:05that person, let them deal with whatever they're going through.
- 7:08No, we want to all be a part of it.
- 7:10Like if the Christian Church is working the way it's supposed
- 7:12to, we help those that are we, we help those that are in
- 7:18trouble. We don't run from it.
- 7:20We like the body. When the part of our body is
- 7:24hurting or maybe sick, we'll nurture it.
- 7:27The whole rest of the body's gonna put all its effort.
- 7:29We even designed that way in our in our, the way our insights and
- 7:35the way the nutrition is distributed in our body, the way
- 7:38the brain tells it to distribute the nutrition.
- 7:41It will go to the places that are most important first and
- 7:45then go out because it's taking care of the entire body.
- 7:48And man, we need, if we could do a lot of improvements there.
- 7:53Yeah, I remember a long time ago for an opening I that did a
- 7:57little studying on what happens when you cut your finger, what
- 8:02your body does when you cut your finger.
- 8:04And it is amazing what the body does, you know, with blood cells
- 8:09and it just rapid responses to that point.
- 8:13And it gives it gives that cut every attention that it that it
- 8:17possibly needs. I mean, it's just amazing if you
- 8:20look at the medical science of what happens.
- 8:22And it's a beautiful picture actually of how a healthy body
- 8:26here, the body of Christ would respond to a hurt individual.
- 8:32And that was eye opening to me how that how that actually
- 8:34worked. Yeah, 'cause the body is not
- 8:36saying, oh, it's that stupid finger again.
- 8:38I'm not going to pick. No, it and it and of the
- 8:41response, the response to it actually is totally automatic
- 8:46like the body are holding was what I mean.
- 8:49It just responds. It doesn't have to think an
- 8:52under a process on what to do it just right now it's there and
- 8:56it's supplying that every need just just like what and that's
- 9:00amazing. That's right there.
- 9:03I don't know. Go ahead.
- 9:06Yeah, and that's why he's keeps selling us, you know previously
- 9:09verses he keeps telling us about becoming one like right, because
- 9:13that's the important part. He that's why he's referring to
- 9:16the body because the body is he is saying is right.
- 9:22It's one many members what it's one because if you read verse 24
- 9:28with 25 because 25 kind of goes with 24.
- 9:31It says for our commonly parts have no need, but God had
- 9:35tempered the body together in that temper means combined like
- 9:39he has combined the body together, having given more
- 9:43abundant honor to that part which lacked.
- 9:46And then it goes on verse 25 that there should be no schism
- 9:51in the body. So in other words, it's combined
- 9:53like you were saying schism means a gap.
- 9:57So it's combined. It's one, it's not supposed to
- 10:01be a gap. That's why he wants it to be 1
- 10:04many members but one. But the interesting part to me
- 10:08is what he says there, but that the members should have the same
- 10:12care for one another. So it's just like you were
- 10:14saying you guys were saying about the body when you cut your
- 10:18finger. I cut my finger last week on the
- 10:21job site and I immediately went to the first aid kit, you know,
- 10:26and and bandaged the thing up and like, I didn't just keep
- 10:29working because I couldn't function until I got that cut
- 10:32taken care of, but it in a couple days it was healed like
- 10:36immediately my body was working on healing that spot in the
- 10:39finger. And so that's what he's
- 10:42referring to here, but that the members should have the same
- 10:45care for one another. So he's referring to the one
- 10:49being one many members, but one is to care for one another.
- 10:54And the next verse, you didn't read that yet, but it it kind of
- 10:57elaborates on that and what that looks like when we care for one
- 11:01another. But that's the point he is
- 11:03trying to make. And I think that's where we miss
- 11:06it. Like many times we want to try
- 11:08and give the gift of the Spirit, like we're trying to manifest
- 11:14the gifts of the Spirit so that I can look more whole air.
- 11:17People look to me and they they think that I'm this spiritual
- 11:22great guy where that's not what it's about.
- 11:26It's it's to edify the body, the body and to take care of one
- 11:30another is what all these gifts are for, right?
- 11:33So that's where I think we miss it.
- 11:37That's right, good stuff. Aaron, I think that I think
- 11:42we're getting, I think we're drawing close to when he's going
- 11:48to bring this together and and going to point us to the next
- 11:52chapter. Like I think this is kind of the
- 11:53beginning of the end, if you will, because I like the last
- 11:58part of that verse, as Melvin just mentioned that the members
- 12:01should have the same care one for another, because that's
- 12:06actually what he's getting ready to get to, right?
- 12:08In other words, we would, we've already said this, that whatever
- 12:13gift it is, the, the point of that gift is to edify the body.
- 12:17If it's prophesying, if it's whatever it is, it's, it's to
- 12:20edify the body. And yet here he's, I feel like
- 12:24he's kind of kind of changing gears because he says there
- 12:29shouldn't be a gap in the body. In other words, I, I looked that
- 12:31up that back in Romans chapter 12, it, it's mentioned Romans
- 12:3612/6 says having them gifts differing according to the grace
- 12:40that's given to us. And he lists one of them in
- 12:42chapter. I mean the same chapter in verse
- 12:458, he says he that showeth mercy with cheerfulness.
- 12:51So it's like you could have a body of people and you have this
- 12:57one person that's running to everybody trying to help them.
- 13:01You know, like everybody that seems to be down.
- 13:04You've got this one person that does go to that person and and
- 13:07help them. But I think he's actually kind
- 13:09of pointless already towards the next chapter.
- 13:11Say, you know, well, when what was it Jesus said?
- 13:15He said they'll know you that you're my disciples.
- 13:18If you have love one for another.
- 13:19You know what I mean? Like the greatest sign of a good
- 13:24functioning body is it loving itself, right, of it loving its
- 13:28members. And I think that that's kind of
- 13:31that's why I said this is kind of the beginning of changing the
- 13:34gear, because I think that's what he means by there by
- 13:37saying, but that the members should have the same care one
- 13:40for another. In other words, you may you, you
- 13:44may say, well, that's not my gift to be a comforter.
- 13:48Well, he's getting ready to go into the next chapter and say
- 13:51that the greatest thing is to be selfless, to be concerned more
- 13:56about the other person than yourself.
- 13:58So I think that this is like, and I think that actually, if
- 14:01you want to tie all that together, that's why it's
- 14:03greater, right? It's because you can.
- 14:06I mean, Jesus said greater love hath no man than this.
- 14:09The man lay down his life for his friends.
- 14:11So there is no greater thing than being selfless.
- 14:14There's nothing that's going to edify the body better than when,
- 14:18as the next verse says, when one of us suffers, everybody feels
- 14:22that pain, right? That that's the greatest prophet
- 14:25to all of us. Yeah.
- 14:28No, that, that's a very good point.
- 14:29I yeah, going right into that charity.
- 14:33I got another aspect that we haven't talked about yet that I
- 14:36thought of so that the body not only takes care of its own, but
- 14:41it also has a whole host of things within our gut and with
- 14:47our inner our everything that we're made of to oppose or to to
- 14:54fight off things that will bring harm to the body.
- 14:58Like, like, like it's always like, what does the liver?
- 15:02Do I mean make? Sure, the blood is good and you
- 15:06know you got all these body parts to to fight off bad
- 15:10bacteria. There's good bacteria and
- 15:12there's bad bacteria. If you look at the church, Paul
- 15:16always warns us about fornication and 11 of the
- 15:20Pharisees. So a healthy body will reject 11
- 15:26of certain things like it can quickly.
- 15:29A healthy body can quickly tell if something is coming into the
- 15:33body that is bringing harm, that is bringing unbelief or whatever
- 15:39you want to put in there. That's a, a, an aspect that
- 15:43nobody really wants to talk about and deal with when it
- 15:46happens. But a lot of a lot of times when
- 15:50you don't see the harm that's being done, you don't recognize
- 15:56it and you don't reject it, then all of a sudden the whole body
- 15:59is in ruins because we didn't have all them gifts operating
- 16:06where every member was really looking out for fighting off the
- 16:12all the toxins that, you know, it's very much needed.
- 16:16And I want that. I want that gift to be in the
- 16:19body where we can see when things something's coming in
- 16:22like a wolf trying to destroy the the body or a lamb or
- 16:26whatever. Yeah.
- 16:29Yeah, and it's the same way as if you cut your finger though,
- 16:32too. I mean, there's, there's things
- 16:34that we do like put a bandage on it like Melvin said.
- 16:38But the, a large part of the response, like if you are maybe
- 16:47if there's a flu bug going around or whatever, your body
- 16:51automatically responds to that, you know, in, in trying to fight
- 16:55that flu bug without you even knowing that it's there yet.
- 16:59You're not even sick yet. And your body's already, you
- 17:02know, building up white blood community, you know it already.
- 17:08So what I'm saying, and I think that that actually is a good
- 17:10analogy to like a healthy body doesn't have to tackle
- 17:13everything straight on by force. I think a healthy body will
- 17:17automatically reject foolishness.
- 17:20You know what I mean? Like it's, it's, it's just, it's
- 17:24a natural response of, of the love of God and this, this
- 17:28charity that he's going to talk about here in the next chapter,
- 17:32foolishness and sin just isn't able to able to be comfortable.
- 17:37Just like a germ just cannot survive in a healthy body
- 17:42because there's just too much good.
- 17:43Around let's go. So, so I haven't thought about
- 17:48that. So I was, as you were talking,
- 17:51Andrea, this came to my brain. So maybe it's not just one
- 17:56specific gift that like rejects those bad things or those toxins
- 18:03that you were describing. Is it maybe like when the whole
- 18:08body is like 1 and is functioning and the gifts are
- 18:13working, Maybe then if they're healthy, in other words, is 1
- 18:17comes to mind. But my mind right then it would
- 18:19reject the toxins and. I don't.
- 18:23That's just. And it can actually handle some
- 18:25junk food without it harming it, you know?
- 18:29I don't really have a Bible verse to back that up, but
- 18:31that's just what comes to my mind.
- 18:33Well, I'm thinking of census exercise.
- 18:35Isn't there a one among? Isn't there one that is the
- 18:40least among you that can judge among yourself?
- 18:43Are you so foolish, like one brother takes another brother to
- 18:46law that you can't work things out?
- 18:49You know, doesn't it naturally just kind of take care of
- 18:53itself? Like Leon was saying?
- 18:54I think God is very, very significant and true.
- 19:01There's people here in our group.
- 19:05That's what I preach, is that if love does not, if love and
- 19:11oneness with each other and united in the gospel doesn't
- 19:13shed off all the heresies and the false doctrines and this
- 19:17stuff, if we need laws and structures in a, in a document
- 19:21to tell us what, what we live by, then then we're defeated
- 19:26already 'cause I think love is stronger than any kind of paper,
- 19:30any kind of, you know, doctrine or whatever.
- 19:33Love and commitment to the, the body of Jesus Christ is far
- 19:38greater than any kind of structure.
- 19:40Yeah. Yeah, I was preaching on Sunday
- 19:44in Mark chapter 4. And this is what kind of made me
- 19:47think about this, the whole idea that the body, you know, self
- 19:50protects or self, whatever. So he's, there's A and we're
- 19:55getting off into the weeds a little bit, but I think this is
- 19:56relevant here. But it says he's talking that
- 19:59Jesus is talking here to Mark about the in parables about the
- 20:02Kingdom of God. He's he's explaining how this
- 20:04new Kingdom works, and he says so is the Kingdom of God, as if
- 20:07a man should cast seed into the ground and should sleep and rise
- 20:11night and day and the seed. Should spring and grow up, he
- 20:14knoweth not how. For that earth bringeth forth
- 20:18fruit of herself. And if you look at that, that
- 20:21word of herself, the, the Greek word actually is the same word
- 20:26that we would use automatic. So you, the, the seed is the
- 20:31gospel. You, you share the gospel, you
- 20:33put it out there. It lands on fertile ground,
- 20:36which is an open and an honest heart.
- 20:39And what happens there? The sower does not know.
- 20:42Wow. He's all about his business.
- 20:44This thing that that it says the earth from herself automatically
- 20:48comes life from that seed. There's no other thing needed.
- 20:52You know that there's no manipulation needed to bring
- 20:55this seed to to bear. It's an automatic response from
- 20:59a a seed and the arm of a seed coming into fertile soil that
- 21:04was designed for it to grow in. I mean, how cool is that?
- 21:07That is a that is the principle of God.
- 21:09And the same thing is true here on how this body works.
- 21:11I guarantee you. This is firing.
- 21:13Me up. You know, you know what you call
- 21:15that man going a weed, going in the weeds for Jesus.
- 21:22I'll go there. That was sure that was good so.
- 21:25Anyway, all right, Aaron, I'll let you go on, 26 says.
- 21:31And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it,
- 21:34or one member be honored, all the members rejoice with it.
- 21:39And I'm going to read verse 27 together now.
- 21:42You are the body of Christ and members in particular.
- 21:46Any thoughts on that? I know we probably kind of
- 21:48covered this mostly already. I guess I'll approach it from
- 21:52the. I guess I'll call it the
- 21:53negative side. I think it's easy, if we're not
- 21:58careful, it's easy to look at somebody and say, why are they
- 22:01letting them? Why are they letting them?
- 22:03Let that bother them so much, right?
- 22:05You know, they're actually suffering and we say, well, they
- 22:08shouldn't be suffering. Or we may look at somebody that
- 22:11is honored. And it's so easy to actually
- 22:14just be envious or jealous of that, you know what I mean?
- 22:17So, so I, I know that's kind of the negative side, but obviously
- 22:22he's addressing it from the perspective of a good healthy
- 22:27working body doesn't do that, right?
- 22:30It does, it actually does suffer when the other member is
- 22:33suffering. It actually does rejoice when
- 22:35the other member is honored. So I think that that's something
- 22:38to keep in mind is it is easy if like I said it, it really is,
- 22:42it's easy to look at somebody and not really suffer with them.
- 22:45Actually just say you should get over that.
- 22:47You know, you should. You shouldn't be suffering and
- 22:50not have love and charity towards that person or see
- 22:55someone rejoice and instead of having a care for them, you
- 23:01actually feel pity for yourself that you're not getting the
- 23:03honor they're getting, you know. So I always think that's
- 23:06important to kind of look at it from the reason why would he be
- 23:08saying this? You know, why would what was?
- 23:10What's the negative side of this?
- 23:12Yeah, yeah. No, that's, that's really good,
- 23:15Andrew. Yeah, I'll just say again, just
- 23:22like it's still talking about the same topic.
- 23:24We were just talking about about the body and what legalistic,
- 23:35deep minded people and just human nature in itself wants to
- 23:40be told what to do. Show me a method, show me a
- 23:44program. Make me not have to think for
- 23:47myself, maybe not have to practice to get to know somebody
- 23:51or to go out and actually practice my practice something.
- 23:57Just tell me what to do, where to punch in and where to clock
- 24:00in and where to clock out and tell me I'm doing great.
- 24:04That's the human nature. And that kind of mindset cannot
- 24:09understand how it could work. Cannot.
- 24:12It's the same concept as law versus grace.
- 24:17God gave the law of Moses to tell us exactly what to do and
- 24:20it just couldn't do the job. And God said, I'm done with it.
- 24:24I'm going to put my love and my spirit, which is love, God is
- 24:28love in them and let them function by the law of love
- 24:33charity, which is going to go into in the next chapter
- 24:36charity. And that is if if we can't get
- 24:39that concept, then I don't know how if, if we really understand
- 24:42the gospel, if we don't understand that the love of God,
- 24:45you know, it makes us a good person towards our neighbor
- 24:48where we actually care where we're makes us a good person to
- 24:52everyone that come walks into them doors.
- 24:55It's not we're not doing our part because the leader and the
- 24:59pastor said, OK, you stand at the door tomorrow morning and
- 25:02you have put on a smile and you greet everybody.
- 25:04That's your job tomorrow. You see, that's what we do
- 25:08though. Like we tell people, you do
- 25:10this, you do that, you be that gift today and I'll be this gift
- 25:14tomorrow and we do it and it's not genuine.
- 25:17That is law. And God is still trying to get
- 25:20us to function as a created being that is on automatic, that
- 25:25is automated like a grass. It just grows because it's got
- 25:29the right soil, it's got the right nutrition, and it
- 25:32automatically brings forth fruit, which is why he says
- 25:36anything that's by the law is not fruit if dead, but anything
- 25:40of the Spirit. It's called fruit.
- 25:42So that's I think consistent with us being in one in the love
- 25:47of Christ, bringing forth fruit under God with all these
- 25:51different gifts instead of the law of mindset.
- 25:54A. 100% agree with you. Melvin yeah.
- 25:58He just elaborated on your oneness.
- 25:59So he he just got done telling us that this oneness looks like
- 26:04a body, right? So when you take that a step
- 26:06further, you think about your heart, your heart doesn't tell
- 26:10you know, your arteries or to you know, Hey, you got to do
- 26:14this or whatever. You know what I'm saying?
- 26:16Our body is not necessarily commuting.
- 26:18It just happens automatically, like so that's that's really
- 26:22good and that's the way it should be happening.
- 26:25I don't I think this here verse is just simply here because we
- 26:30need to be reminded right because he is entering us into
- 26:35the love chapter and showing us that love is going to be the
- 26:39greatest of all. And he's just saying that this
- 26:43is what oneness and unity in Christ and loving one another
- 26:47looks like in Romans 12. It says in verse 15, it says
- 26:53rejoice with them that rejoice and we with them that we and be
- 26:58of the same mind one toward another and mine not high
- 27:02things, but consent to men of low estate and be not wise in
- 27:06your own conceits. And so it's obviously pointing
- 27:10out that stop looking at yourself because that's what we
- 27:14want to do, right? We want to look at ourselves,
- 27:17and what about me, but in the body of Christ?
- 27:20And when unity in Christ should look like looking to the others
- 27:26and the body as a whole and not to ourselves.
- 27:32Yeah. I would say this too.
- 27:35It's it's like this is kind of why I said it.
- 27:37What I said from the negative side, it's I would relate this
- 27:40similar to 1st Corinthians 7 when he talked about married and
- 27:44he said in First Corinthians 733, he said, but he that is
- 27:48married careth for the things that are of the world, how he
- 27:51may please his wife. Now that's not always true in
- 27:56the sense that I sometimes I'm selfish and I don't think about,
- 28:00I'm selfish and I think about what pleases me and not what
- 28:03pleases my wife. But he's saying the, the, the
- 28:06right way to be married is to care for the other person, to
- 28:10love them as you love your own self.
- 28:11And I think it's similar here in that the the functioning body,
- 28:17the healthy body really does suffer when the one member
- 28:21suffer. It really does rejoice when the
- 28:24other ones rejoicing. But that's not, that's why I
- 28:26warned us like, yes, that's the right way to do it, But we don't
- 28:30often do that. So I think we need to be
- 28:31reminded. You should be this is this is
- 28:34the right way to do it. And we often, I mean, I'm going
- 28:37to speak for myself. I guess I fail in that.
- 28:40I do but. Well.
- 28:43For a lot of people, you know, if we're, if we struggle with
- 28:46our image or we're self-conscious or self-centered,
- 28:49like, you know, a lot of Christians as a whole kind of
- 28:52are in a way, you know, then it's hard for somebody that is
- 28:56self-centered to give honor to somebody else.
- 29:00It just is, that is a, that is a almost just something that can't
- 29:05happen. I see, I see it all the time,
- 29:08and that's a good lesson for me. I just thought of another like
- 29:12analogy and kind of the highlight of what we're talking
- 29:15about. If your body members, if my body
- 29:18members would have to be told what to do and it wasn't just an
- 29:21automatic reaction. If it's not an automatic
- 29:24reaction from my arm to come up. If I want to carry something
- 29:26like I don't have to tell it and think about it and say, OK, why
- 29:30didn't you pick up? I told you to your hand to go
- 29:32up. When my hand doesn't go up, I go
- 29:35to the doctor. My if my heart doesn't pump the
- 29:39way it's supposed to, I go to the doctor and it gets told what
- 29:43to do. If I can't breathe, I get put on
- 29:46a breathing machine and I get told to breathe and when to
- 29:49breathe and how much to breathe, how much oxygen.
- 29:52And most churches today want to be on oxygen.
- 29:55Yeah, Yeah. They want to be on a heart
- 29:59monitor, you know, and that's what we're talking about
- 30:02tonight. I thought that was pretty good
- 30:03now. Yeah.
- 30:03No, that's good. Like that's a good.
- 30:06Analogy all right, Melvin on verse 28 and God has set some in
- 30:15the church first apostles, secondary prophets, thirdly
- 30:18teachers. After that miracles, then gifts
- 30:22of healings helps government's diversity of diversities of
- 30:25tongues. You can big as deeper a little
- 30:28bit one at a time through that or the whole thing or whatever
- 30:31whatever you want to talk about. I find it interesting that he
- 30:35says and God has set some makes it very clear that's God's doing
- 30:41the setting. And I just wonder in my own mind
- 30:44when I read that against verse 11 where it says, but all these
- 30:49worketh that one itself, same spirit dividing to every man
- 30:52severally as he will, you know, So that's I, I guess it's
- 30:57consistent, you know, as he will, he says there.
- 31:00And as God has sent some of the church here, these are these
- 31:05these workers of these gifts, I guess is what we're getting what
- 31:08we're talking about here. And so, yeah, what about those
- 31:12apostles and those prophets? Yeah, I just want to .1 thing
- 31:17out before I dig into the gifts is, you know, it says first and
- 31:22then secondary and 3rd, you know, and then so some people
- 31:26get the mindset that that one is more important than the other.
- 31:30Well, he just got done telling us that, you know, we're one
- 31:33member and the the commonly the less least members are as
- 31:38important as the others. So I just want to point that
- 31:42out. So I don't know there's I'm
- 31:48going to tear into the prophets 1.
- 31:51I think I see just because it's kind of reveling in in my life
- 31:56right now, not that I consider myself a prophet, but just what
- 32:02I'm thinking about these days. And there's prophets in the
- 32:06church and you know what? What is the role of a prophet
- 32:13and what does that look like like?
- 32:15So there is a lot of times when people think of prophets, they
- 32:20think of, you know, there are simply hearing from God and then
- 32:25they're trying to tell everyone else what God is saying that
- 32:28that other person is supposed to do.
- 32:31And then they use that as like manipulation, so to speak, or to
- 32:37say that, well, I'm hearing from God and so I'm more holy or more
- 32:41righteous or whatever. And that is not what a prophet
- 32:47is or what the Bible says that a prophet is in First Corinthians
- 32:5214. It gives us a very a very good a
- 32:57description. And of course, I can't, you
- 33:00know, go through the whole scripture or anything, but it
- 33:03says that one thing that I am right in the beginning of 14
- 33:10verse one. It says follow after charity and
- 33:13desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophecy For
- 33:19he that prophets prophesied. The verse 3 says speaketh unto
- 33:23men to edification, exhortation and comfort.
- 33:29So in other words, I get the picture that when someone is
- 33:33prophesying it is 3 things right?
- 33:37It is edification, exhortation and it is comfort.
- 33:42In other words, it's not saying that I'm trying to be more
- 33:45spiritual or boss people around because God is telling you these
- 33:50things about. You.
- 33:51Right. So that's one thing that I would
- 33:55like to point out. But we know for a fact that most
- 33:59times people that are prophets or say that they are prophets,
- 34:04they are very black and white people.
- 34:07Like they see things black and white and often times they maybe
- 34:12don't have a lot of maybe as much empathy for others is the
- 34:18right where maybe your comfort froze.
- 34:20But that is actually what a prophet is supposed to be in the
- 34:25body, right? According to the scriptures.
- 34:27Another thing I find interesting in First Corinthians 14 is
- 34:31talking about prophets. See if I can lay my eyes on I
- 34:36should have pulled it up. It says, it says when one
- 34:40prophet speaks, the other one is to be quiet.
- 34:45So in other words, if a man speak, I can't lay my eyes on it
- 34:56right now. Another teacher is saying, he
- 34:59says that when one prophet speaks and another one gets a
- 35:03word or gets something from God, that the that the first one is
- 35:07supposed to be quiet and let the other one speak.
- 35:10And then it also says that the prophets are supposed to judge
- 35:15one another, in other words, and they're supposed to make sure
- 35:19that what they are speaking is actually like according to
- 35:26Scripture and according to the word of God, and most times
- 35:30actually the word of God. So I don't know, it's just
- 35:35really interesting. I'm going to let and or
- 35:40whoever's next talk, and I'm going to speak a little bit more
- 35:42about that after everyone else is done, but I have a few other
- 35:46points that Light can make. I did the rotation rolling the
- 35:50last time, but I'll let Aaron go ahead here and then.
- 35:55The address, I actually kind of think that and I'm really, I'm
- 36:01not, I don't mean anything bad by this.
- 36:03I don't disagree with anything Melvin just said, but I actually
- 36:05do think he is kind of in this specific place.
- 36:08I think he is kind of putting a first, second and a third on it.
- 36:12And, and here's why. Here's why I say that because
- 36:15really if you did, if you're talking about the apostle, the
- 36:18prophet and the teacher, distinguishing that from the
- 36:23other ones, those are all dealing with the word
- 36:26specifically and the word right, like the words of God is what
- 36:31saves a person believing the word is how you get in
- 36:35righteousness and putty. So I, I would say that I would
- 36:40say that I kind of lean towards he is actually saying, saying it
- 36:45in a first, second and third manner.
- 36:49But just because of that, just because they are dealing with
- 36:51the word, which is, you know, like, how shall they believe
- 36:56except they hear, right? You know, So I think if you look
- 37:00at that Romans, you know, when he says that how shall they hear
- 37:03except they be sent and how shall they be, you know, you
- 37:05know, like how shall they hear unless they have a teacher or a
- 37:08preacher or whatever. So I do think that if there is
- 37:11any distinguishing, which I kind of think there is, it's because
- 37:15these are people that are either getting a word from God
- 37:20ambassadors to go give the word or teacher someone is expounding
- 37:25on the word. Like, I do think that that is
- 37:27because the word, because just because you see a miracle, I
- 37:32mean, doesn't let's say you saw a miracle, but didn't hear
- 37:38anything about Christ. How you going to get saved?
- 37:41Right. You know what I mean?
- 37:42If you don't hear the gospel, if you don't hear the story, just
- 37:44because you saw something miraculous happened, doesn't
- 37:47necessarily mean you're going to get saved.
- 37:49Just like the, the, the healings or the governments or the
- 37:53whatever, the tongues, you know, I, I think that that's so like I
- 37:57said that that's just, that's just what kind of came to my
- 38:00mind is I do think he is. Well, like I said, I'll, I'll
- 38:06say it a different way. I, that was the I'll speak
- 38:11person. That was the light bulb moment.
- 38:14One of the light bulb moments that I had when I actually saw
- 38:17the gospel was realizing that that's where the power is,
- 38:21rather than, as Andrew said earlier, just being told you do
- 38:26this, you do this, here's your box, you check it, you do this.
- 38:29I, I finally saw that the power, like the, the gospel has power,
- 38:38the words, the actual story that is told, the powers in that
- 38:42word, and I am able to to connect with that power by
- 38:49believing that word. So those that are spreading that
- 38:54word, that is great. That's a great deal.
- 38:56Like that's extremely important. That is extremely necessary
- 39:00because that's they are making that power of salvation
- 39:06available by that word. So I don't, I don't know, maybe
- 39:10I'm wrong. I just that's just kind of what
- 39:11I thought on it, but I may be wrong.
- 39:13Well, it's, you know, there, there's some kind of weight tied
- 39:16to some of that because, you know, when you talk about
- 39:18desiring the office of a Bishop, you know, there's this whole
- 39:21criteria that's not on anyone else.
- 39:23Why is that? Yeah, yeah.
- 39:25You're, you're handling an extremely precious cargo.
- 39:28You know, you're going to. He doesn't want to delegate that
- 39:32to somebody that doesn't know something about what he's
- 39:34handling. It's not so that we can line up
- 39:38and say, well, hey, you know, look, I'm a I'm an apostle.
- 39:41You're only a teacher. Of course you don't know.
- 39:43That's not what he's at. And I would, and I would also
- 39:46say this to, to kind of connect with this.
- 39:50And when I say circumstance, I'm not, I'm not taken away from the
- 39:56fact that God is in control. I'm just saying.
- 40:01These apostles, like the 12 are, are apostles, but in a sense
- 40:07because of circumstance, because they were born in the year in
- 40:11which Christ is there, right? You know what I mean?
- 40:13Like in other words, when they go to when they go to replace
- 40:17Judas, the the thing they say is we got to have somebody that's
- 40:21been here the whole time from the baptism of John until now,
- 40:26right? Well, that was circumstantial in
- 40:29the sense that the only guy suitable for the jobs, God's
- 40:33been there, around, been around, right?
- 40:35So he's, you know, a lot of these apostles are the also the
- 40:39writers of the Bible because they are either they sought with
- 40:43their own eyes or they wrote it because the guy that sought with
- 40:46his own eyes told him the story. So that is, you know what I mean
- 40:51by circumstantial. In other words, that was
- 40:53nothing. That was just they are in that
- 40:56position because they were born in that time, right?
- 41:00You know, and that and that was extremely, you know, extremely
- 41:04relevant to have men born in that time to hand down that
- 41:08story and pass that on. So.
- 41:11Because it was the way that that they had to broadcast.
- 41:15Yeah. Well, Andrew, finally your turn
- 41:19a little bit. Well, I think, I think Melvin
- 41:25and Aaron are both right. So just like our body, we would
- 41:32say being born is pretty significant, right?
- 41:36You have to have two people get together and then God has to
- 41:42form you in the womb. That's pretty significant.
- 41:46Hearing the gospel is just as significant.
- 41:48You got to get born again. If you don't get born again,
- 41:51then we can talk all day long about how the body should
- 41:54function, But if there's no body in the begin with, then we're
- 41:58talking about something that doesn't exist.
- 42:00So there's I would say there's significance of some of our
- 42:03parts, but honor all kind of similar.
- 42:08Like there's not one member above another.
- 42:11That's right. But some members are more
- 42:12significant than others and hearing the word.
- 42:16So that's why I think they're both right.
- 42:20Like hearing the word is significant.
- 42:23Like if you don't hear the word, then there's no point in talking
- 42:25about the body. If there's no heart, there's not
- 42:28going to be a a body. So that's kind of way I would
- 42:32look at that. But I was going to spend a
- 42:35little time on the prophets thing as well.
- 42:38Again, I think it's significant to hear the word and we have
- 42:43apostles and then we have teachers and prophets.
- 42:46I think prophets is actually second.
- 42:48All these things are very important.
- 42:50Then he gets to tongues last somehow his Norser he's thinking
- 42:54no, yeah, he does on anything he gets to that last.
- 42:58As far as the the category of significance, I think it's what
- 43:02he's going at, not one more or less.
- 43:04If I was earlier, that's not the case.
- 43:07Yeah, but profits it's I think where we do the most damage,
- 43:12where I think we need the most. Like Marilyn was saying, the
- 43:14most damage happens in the category of profits.
- 43:18Now in in let's see here in Deuteronomy 18, chapter 18,
- 43:28verse 19 and 20. Actually I'll read already 22
- 43:33And it says, And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not
- 43:35hearken unto my words which he so speak in My name, I will
- 43:40require it of him. But the prophet which shall
- 43:43pursue presume to speak a word in My name which I have not
- 43:47commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other
- 43:51gods, even that prophet shall die.
- 43:55And if thou say in thine heart, how shall we know the word which
- 43:58the Lord hath not spoken? When if prophet speaketh in the
- 44:02name of the Lord, if the thing follow not nor come to pass.
- 44:07That is the thing which the Lord hath not spoken, but the prophet
- 44:11hath spoken presumptuously. Thou shall not be afraid of him.
- 44:18So the way you can tell whether someone's a false prophet is
- 44:21doesn't come to pass. You don't need to be afraid of
- 44:23him. And in fact God says if he said
- 44:26something that he didn't say, he needs to die like kill him and
- 44:30there'll be a lot less prophets today if that was still
- 44:32practice. But the the most damaging place
- 44:41that really grinds me, that I think is way more prevalent than
- 44:45we think is I don't know what you think about this.
- 44:50Maybe I'll step on some toes. But when people say that they
- 44:55read something and never knew what that meant, and then God
- 45:00told me what that passage means, which which builds this
- 45:05assumption that unless God tells me what I'm reading, then I
- 45:11can't trust it. I can't trust the word of God
- 45:15and read it and look at it and believe it.
- 45:18I need God to tell me to give me.
- 45:21I need a prophet. I need something more superior
- 45:25to interpret this thing for me because the spirit within me
- 45:29that witnesses with the Spirit that's in the word of God cannot
- 45:33do it. I think when we don't understand
- 45:35the passage, oftentimes more than not, it's because we're not
- 45:39reading in context. We have preconceived ideas.
- 45:43And if we allow, like Aaron was praying in the beginning, they
- 45:47said if we allow the word of God to just to speak for itself and
- 45:52to read it, a lot of times it will reveal itself to you.
- 45:56But now I said all that to not say that sometimes God does show
- 46:02us vividly on what passage means.
- 46:05I just think a lot of false prophets, they weasel their way
- 46:09in there to undermine the word of God in our minds to create
- 46:14that doubt, that fear, that that thing where I can't see here, I
- 46:19read all that and here God showed him what that actually
- 46:22means. And it's something completely
- 46:23different now. I just can't trust what I read.
- 46:26Like I need to find this guy to kind of help me understand what
- 46:30these passages mean. And then you just kind of lose
- 46:33confidence in the word, which is exactly what a false prophet
- 46:37would want you to do is you, you need me to tell you what God is
- 46:41actually trying to say there. And I think that's false
- 46:44prophecy. I think, I think it's an area
- 46:47that nobody really touches on, but it really aggravates me when
- 46:51there's there's already a lot of Bible scholars and teachers
- 46:56trying to undermine the word of God where you can't just believe
- 46:59what it's the way it's written. And I think that that way is
- 47:02very prevalent today. Well, did did God show you what
- 47:06he meant when he read that? Like you can't just read it like
- 47:09God's just a horrible author. Like he doesn't know how to put
- 47:12things down where he can understand you to have Prophet
- 47:16telling you what it means. You know.
- 47:18That activates me. Then you get a lot of help from
- 47:23all kinds of different perversions of the word to, you
- 47:26know, I mean, and all that different versions that argue
- 47:30against each other in places and stuff like that just bring a lot
- 47:33of lot of confusion. Yeah, so.
- 47:39Yeah, I would. Just.
- 47:40I was just. Going to say, yeah, I wasn't
- 47:43trying to contradict Melvin. I was just saying, and I think
- 47:45Andrew done a better job of saying what I meant to say,
- 47:49like, yeah, I think it was just perspective of, you know, like I
- 47:52wasn't using the right word like Andrew did.
- 47:54It's, you know, it's just the relevance of spreading the
- 47:58words. All I meant not that one's more
- 48:00saved or whatever than the other.
- 48:02I didn't mean it like that, but yeah.
- 48:04Yeah. Yeah, no, that's that's good
- 48:07stuff. Oh, I.
- 48:08Think novel Could he wanted to share?
- 48:11Who did? Nolan had said in the beginning
- 48:14that he's still got something he wants to share at the end of
- 48:17this. Yeah.
- 48:18I mean, unless you I didn't want you want to do you want to go on
- 48:21to the next one lien or what do you do?
- 48:22No, I, I was going to, I was just going to make a few
- 48:25comments on, on a few things that I do.
- 48:27And then I, there's a couple later here that, that no one
- 48:30touched on yet. But you know, like so apostles,
- 48:36you know, that's one thing that, you know, we didn't really talk
- 48:38about because it's not, it's not a word that we really use much,
- 48:42is it? I mean, we don't, we don't call
- 48:44each other apostles, do we? But, and I was just looking at
- 48:48the, the literally what it means is to be a deputy, you know,
- 48:53like, and when you think of a, a deputy sheriff, you know, they
- 48:57carry the authority of the sheriff.
- 49:00Only it's been delegated to them by the sheriff, you know, and I
- 49:04think that's a, a pretty good picture in your mind's eye of
- 49:07what an apostle actually is deputized by Jesus himself to go
- 49:11and do what Jesus did, you know, share the Gospel, tell him about
- 49:14Jesus and, and bring that kind of so, you know, I don't know,
- 49:17could be other things too. I don't know what a what a, what
- 49:20an apostle all all does, but I'm sure it would include most of
- 49:23what Jesus did if that were the case.
- 49:25That's that's what it was going to be a deputy.
- 49:28You know what then obviously you, you talked about a prophet.
- 49:31I appreciate that. That's again, I, I agree with
- 49:34with all of you that it's probably one of the most abused
- 49:37positions, if you want to call it that just because people use
- 49:41it to shoehorn their will into people and say God told me this
- 49:45and you better listen kind of a thing.
- 49:46And they use that which is terrible.
- 49:48A real prophet would never ever, they would, they would very
- 49:52cautiously ever suggest that God told them singularly, you know,
- 49:57that they have the answer. You don't.
- 49:59I don't think a real prophet would ever actually do that even
- 50:03very, very seldom. And then you have teachers.
- 50:08Thirdly, there again, they're they're not much appreciated in
- 50:11the church anymore. No one wants to put their
- 50:13thinking hat on and and actually be taught.
- 50:18They want to come to church and be made to feel good, you know,
- 50:20with a kind of bubble gum preacher and where we actually
- 50:26desperately need instruction, we do.
- 50:29That's that's what guides us to be taught.
- 50:31How can we how can we know only that that we understand what a
- 50:35concept is or or what we're talking about here.
- 50:38What is an apostle, you know, or what is a profit?
- 50:40You guys that are wise in that you talk about that and you
- 50:43instruct the rest of us that aren't and it actually helps us.
- 50:46It's profitable to us because now we understand what that
- 50:49actually is that you know that speeching for you right there.
- 50:53But yeah, then then miracles of and the gift of healings helps
- 50:57government's diversities of tongues, whatever.
- 51:00I guess I'll just kind of open it up if anyone else has wants
- 51:03to touch on any of those others one by one or all at once,
- 51:06whatever. We got just a couple minutes
- 51:08left, of course. But Melvin, do you have anything
- 51:11else in? Yeah, I just wanted to say a few
- 51:13thing more things about profit, just like you were saying,
- 51:16Andrew, that what bothers me is how people, especially online,
- 51:22they're they're prophesying all this kind of stuff.
- 51:24You know, and like, for instance, the one that's most
- 51:27commonly abused is prophesying when the end of the world is
- 51:31going to be or when Jesus is coming back.
- 51:33And we know that no one knows that, but people keep
- 51:35prophesying that. But that's not when this word
- 51:39prophecy is something that is happening inside the body, like
- 51:43inside, you know, the body of Christ.
- 51:45And what I what I find it interesting, it says in verse
- 51:50first Corinthians 1429. It says let the prophet speak
- 51:53two or three and let the other judge.
- 51:55In other words, there needs to be more than just one prophet
- 51:59prophesying or one person prophesying and the others need
- 52:03to be judging. Like so like there isn't just
- 52:06one person proclaiming this thing and and everybody else has
- 52:12to like listen or whatever. And then it says if anything be
- 52:17revealed to another that sitteth by let the first hold his peace.
- 52:21So in other words, and that's another thing that I noticed
- 52:24here, it says if anything be revealed, it says to be
- 52:28revealed. In other words, it's not always
- 52:30that God is speaking necessarily to that person.
- 52:34It could be, but maybe it's they got some sort of a revelation or
- 52:39revealing about a scripture or a a word, but it's not like no one
- 52:46else can interpret that scripture.
- 52:49It's just it's talking about in when the body is gathering
- 52:55together, because later it says it said for the God is not the
- 53:00Arthur of confusion, but a peace as in all the churches of the
- 53:04Saints. In other words, here in this
- 53:06context, it is referring to as the body is gathered.
- 53:12It's this is what the gifts or should look like and this is how
- 53:16it should be functioning, right? Yeah.
- 53:20And you know, the the very idea of reveal is a truth that's
- 53:23already been there. That's right.
- 53:25Let's just be uncovered. You know it's not coming up with
- 53:28this new truth. That's right.
- 53:30Maybe we're seeing it for the first time, I'll I'll admit to
- 53:33that, but that's as far as it goes.
- 53:35This is not a revealing of some brand new thing that that no one
- 53:39ever saw before. Yeah, that's good, Leon.
- 53:42I, I that is correct. Because and even if we're, if
- 53:46someone is teaching like the book of Revelations or, you
- 53:50know, any word of God that is a, a revealing or a revelation, you
- 53:56know, that is a revelation, but it's not a new revelation,
- 53:59right? Because that's the other thing
- 54:02that happens. Some people think they, they
- 54:04have to have a new revelation from God.
- 54:07Well, there is no such thing. But.
- 54:13Yeah, and how about the gift of governments?
- 54:14Just somebody that runs the day-to-day stuff in the church,
- 54:17huh? We don't talk about that one
- 54:19very much at all. That wasn't very glorious.
- 54:21Is it setting tables and, you know, sweeping floors?
- 54:26Yeah. And what about the gifts of
- 54:27health, right? That's another one that is not
- 54:31very common right and doesn't look very showy and.
- 54:36Yeah, for sure. Any other thoughts on that?
- 54:40Little bit on the end there. Are we going all the way to the
- 54:43end? I got some all the way to the
- 54:45end. Yeah, let's let's let's let's
- 54:47hit verse 30 quick and I'll let you go with this, Andrew, have
- 54:52all the gift of healing. Do all speak with tongues, do
- 54:55all interpret. You can answer that question.
- 54:58And if you want to throw in 31, you can, it says, but covet
- 55:01earnestly the best gifts and yet show I unto you a more excellent
- 55:06way. That goes on into chapter 13.
- 55:08There was a really, really good. I mean, we could keep going
- 55:10through this no problem. But Andrew, go ahead.
- 55:14Yeah, I, I think if we're humble enough to accept and embrace
- 55:20that last verse, we'll go a long way with all these gifts if we
- 55:25realize that that's not what defines us, is these gifts.
- 55:28People want to be recognized for their gifts.
- 55:31And if somebody challenges their gift, they get so offended,
- 55:35like, you know, this is my little baby, this is my pet.
- 55:38This is what displains me as my, as God talking to me.
- 55:43And this is what me and God, this is what, how I validate
- 55:46myself. And you just put your finger on
- 55:48it and said, it's not that important, you know, but God's
- 55:52going to say, I don't care if he can move a mountain.
- 55:55I don't care what you can do. I don't care if you can speak a
- 55:57million languages, if you don't have love, it does not matter.
- 56:03And here he says he's going to show us a more excellent way.
- 56:05So again, there were a lot of dividing and figuring out who is
- 56:09more significant. Is Paul more significant?
- 56:12Could he do more miracles? He do more signs Or was it a
- 56:16palace? See, it was, he was pretty good
- 56:18too. Like he got all these things
- 56:20going and he's got quite the following going on over there.
- 56:22Which one's more significant? He's saying it's not about that.
- 56:26All the gifts, if a policy might be better at something that I'm
- 56:30not, maybe season is better with another area, but it's all for
- 56:34that same one body. And you know what?
- 56:38All these gifts that we practice, that's great.
- 56:41Everybody, a whole body functions that way.
- 56:43That's good. But I'll tell you a better of
- 56:45it. I'll tell you something better,
- 56:47and it's called love. It's even better.
- 56:50Live in love. Who?
- 56:51I'm stuck. Oh yeah, Velvet thoughts on
- 56:54that? Yeah, no, I that is you hit it
- 56:58dead on. I he says, but covet earnestly
- 57:01the best gifts and then he adds on that and yet true IU more
- 57:06excellent way. So he's saying covet the more
- 57:09excellent gifts, right. But besides that, you need to,
- 57:14I'm going to show you in the next chapter a more excellent
- 57:17way, and that is to love and it because otherwise you're a
- 57:20tingling symbol and well, the the whole list, right?
- 57:24It means nothing if you don't have love.
- 57:28Yeah, we could all be without a sounding brass, Aaron.
- 57:33I'm just going to say that you're, there's no guarantee
- 57:37that you would ever get the gift of healing, but I don't care
- 57:44what member it is, they can they can have charity.
- 57:48I mean, that's. But it's not guarantee you're
- 57:51going to get whatever gift, but there you can for sure have
- 57:54charity. And if you have a gift and are
- 57:57manifesting it, it should be in love, right?
- 58:00There should be love. Tied to that matter of fact,
- 58:03he's saying if it's not, it's not it's not really a God.
- 58:06It's not what he had in mind that's right because God is
- 58:09love. That's good.
- 58:11That's good stuff. Hey, go out and practice the
- 58:13best gifts, man. I tell you what the body needs
- 58:15these just I mean, this is a good study.
- 58:19I like this. I I feel edified.
- 58:21I think this is great. And again, the law is dead, but
- 58:25the gift of life in Christ and the love of Christ is considered
- 58:30fruit. Like, yeah, the things like
- 58:34you'd see that difference, Like, yeah, yeah.
- 58:37Let that old seed sprout forth, let it grow and and put a fruit
- 58:41on your branch. You don't have to be looking
- 58:43around to try to make a fruit happen.
- 58:45Just let it let it grow, man. Let let the copy.
- 58:49Yeah, God's got this, man. We, we're going to, we, we get
- 58:53to bear the fruit somehow or another.
- 58:55Isn't that cool? All.
- 58:57Righty, that's it. We're going to cut it off right
- 59:00here and who knows what we're going to head into next week.
- 59:04Hola have a little good start. About something scary we will be
- 59:10sure come back, yeah. I'm here kind of get you back.
- 59:14Next Monday night? No, that's all cool.
- 59:16We've got to work out an operation.
- 59:18Yeah, for sure. We love you.
- 59:20We think this is awesome and thank you for your time,
- 59:23brothers. Appreciate it.
