- 0:00Speaker 1: I am Sherri Mackey, and it's time for us to
- 0:04Speaker 1: go to God in prayer. And on this September 11th, today,
- 0:12Speaker 1: we pause.
- 0:13Speaker 2: 25 years have passed since September 11th, 2001. But for
- 0:18Speaker 2: so many, the pain of that day is still very real. Lord,
- 0:23Speaker 2: we remember the lives that were lost, the families who
- 0:26Speaker 2: received devastating news, the first responders who ran toward danger
- 0:32Speaker 2: while others were running away, and the countless lives forever
- 0:36Speaker 2: changed by the tragic day.
- 0:39Speaker 1: Father, we thank you for being close to the brokenhearted.
- 0:42Speaker 1: And for saving those who are crushed in spirit, we
- 0:45Speaker 1: ask you to continue to comfort every family whose chair
- 0:48Speaker 1: at the table has been empty for 25 years. For
- 0:54Speaker 1: the mothers and the fathers who lost their children, God.
- 0:58Speaker 1: For husbands and wives who lost their spouse. For children
- 1:01Speaker 1: who grew up without a parent. For brothers, sisters, grandparents, friends,
- 1:06Speaker 1: co-workers who still carry the weight of that loss. Lord,
- 1:11Speaker 1: strengthen them. And Father, we remember the survivors, the people
- 1:16Speaker 1: who witnessed things they can never forget, the first responders,
- 1:19Speaker 1: the firefighters, police officers, emergency workers, military personnel, medical professionals,
- 1:26Speaker 1: and all who sacrificed to help others.
- 1:29Speaker 2: Cover them, God, with your grace.
- 1:31Speaker 1: For those who still carry emotional wounds from that day,
- 1:35Speaker 1: bring healing, God. For those who struggle with memories, nightmares, grief,
- 1:39Speaker 1: or fear, surround them with your peace. Remember, God, those
- 1:45Speaker 1: that are still hurting, still in pain, still grappling with grief.
- 1:51Speaker 1: Remind them that they don't have to carry what happened alone.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Your word says in Psalms 34, 18, the Lord is
- 2:00Speaker 1: near to those who have a broken heart. So Lord,
- 2:03Speaker 1: be near them today. As we remember September 11th, help
- 2:06Speaker 1: us never forget the value of human life. Help us
- 2:09Speaker 1: never take our families, our freedoms, our communities, or another
- 2:14Speaker 1: day of life for granted, God. And Father, let us
- 2:18Speaker 1: remember how we felt and how the churches were packed
- 2:21Speaker 1: out and people were running to the church saying, what
- 2:25Speaker 1: must I do to be saved? Don't let them forget God,
- 2:29Speaker 1: their need for you like they did on that day. Father.
- 2:34Speaker 1: Let remembrance move us toward compassion, not hatred. Let it
- 2:38Speaker 1: move us toward unity, not division. Let it remind us
- 2:43Speaker 1: that we are stronger when we stand together, love one another,
- 2:46Speaker 1: and refuse to allow tragedy to destroy our hope. God,
- 2:50Speaker 1: we pray for our nation. Protect this country, God. Give
- 2:53Speaker 1: wisdom to our leaders. Protect those who protect us. Expose
- 2:57Speaker 1: danger before it reaches our communities. Keep us vigilant without
- 3:02Speaker 1: living in fear because we know that you are our refuge.
- 3:05Speaker 1: You are our strength. You are our very present help
- 3:08Speaker 1: in trouble. Oh, 25 years later, God, we remember, we honor,
- 3:13Speaker 1: we greet, And we trust you. God, let the lives
- 3:17Speaker 1: lost never be forgotten. And may the memory remind us
- 3:20Speaker 1: to live with greater love, greater compassion, greater courage, and
- 3:24Speaker 1: greater gratitude. In the name of Jesus. Amen, amen, and amen.
