- 0:00Sawed our shotgun and told her that she was going to see her maker.
- 0:04Y'all, this is the world we live in now, but I'm thankful that
- 0:07we have an opportunity to express some of these things through our works, and
- 0:14just so happen, poetry has to be the outlet for some of us.
- 0:19We're able to share through poetry. And again, I want to thank you
- 0:23guys for tuning in as we celebrate these amazing poets that are sharing their journey
- 0:33with us in a little bit about their brands. So I see that we
- 0:36have Miss Martine backstage, I'm gonna go ahead and bring her up and allow
- 0:41her to introduce herself, and then I hope she's prepared to share some poetry,
- 0:46because she's gonna have an opportunity to share some poetry. If y'all don't
- 0:50know, and if y'all are a regular to the network, then y'all have
- 0:56seen some of her commercials. Back in March, we shared a little bit
- 1:00about her newest book that was coming out, So hopefully she's I'm gonna share
- 1:07someone that with us tonight. So I'm gonna bring her up, y'all.
- 1:12Hi, Hi, antella, how are you? I'm good? I met
- 1:18it through another week. Thank God, beautiful. I'm going good. I'm
- 1:23doing good. I can't complain. H Wow. Well, like I was
- 1:30telling everyone before, I had the opportunity to share through the commercial a little
- 1:38bit about your latest release. I know that you were also on the podcast
- 1:44earlier with one of the hosts, Patrice, and she shared about your book
- 1:49The Phoenix, an amazing book. So I'm just excited to just hear about
- 1:55this newest book. I'm excited. So I'm the way and let you share
- 2:02for those that may not know who you are, a little bit about yourself.
- 2:07And then as the other poets come up, we're gonna allow them to
- 2:13share a little bit about themselves as well. But today it's about getting to
- 2:16know the poets, allowing them to share their brand and some of their work,
- 2:21and then them just talking about why they why they wrote those pieces.
- 2:24So the floor is yours. Ms. Martine Hi, and she stated,
- 2:31I'm Martine Moore. I am located in Dallas, Texas. I'm a poet
- 2:37author based out of Dallas. My preferred trade is a human resources director and
- 2:46that is directly like influence helped me to write my poetry. I am the
- 2:51I currently have had a best seller. We'll actually two best sellers. I
- 2:53can put that on now on Barnes and Noble, The Phoenix Heart and Reflections
- 2:58Rising, when which, as Angela stated so eloquently, it's poetry and Reflections
- 3:04Rising is my newest book on Barnes and Noble. Wow. Wow, So
- 3:13out of all the different jerals that you could have wrote in, why did
- 3:17you pick poetry? Poetry picked me? I was I actually didn't know I
- 3:27could write a could write a poem until when I say, thirteen years ago,
- 3:31when I was going through my divorce, and it was actually therapy for
- 3:37me. It was a way for me to get my feelings out on paper
- 3:40without you know, doing too much uh craziness, and so it helped heal
- 3:47me. And so as I said many times with The Phoenix Heart, it
- 3:53was an evolution of the heart. It was actually a process, a step
- 3:55by step over thirteen years of me healing my self. And God works in
- 4:00amazing ways because who would have known that He turned such a terrible situation into
- 4:05something so good and just came through the poetry and writing and healing and finding
- 4:11myself. And so by sharing this, I'm hoping that it helps other people.
- 4:17You know. Wow, that's amazing because you said it was a thirteen
- 4:23year journey, and like a lot of people, thirteen years, they probably
- 4:27would have gave up. They probably would have said no, I don't forget
- 4:30this, and that book probably would have never got published. Yeah, my
- 4:35aim wasn't to write a book. I'm sorry if I cut you off.
- 4:39I just was writing. I just was writing poems and just saving him and
- 4:44I chare him with girlfriends every now and then and they'd be like, oh,
- 4:48you have a gift, you know. But it just turned into a
- 4:53collection. And once I decided to publish the book, it actually told a
- 4:58story and it was all the portray that I had. I never thought i'd
- 5:01be an author. Oh wow. Never wow. And that's just the just
- 5:10us being us, you know, not you no, he People don't understand
- 5:16that there's so much that's on the inside of us and we would just allow
- 5:21it to just come out and be because a lot of us we don't set
- 5:26out to do none of the stuff that we do, and it just happens.
- 5:29And when it happens the way it happens, it's so beautiful. Like,
- 5:32no, you didn't set out to be a poet or an author.
- 5:36But it happened and over that thirteen year process, over that thirteen year process,
- 5:42here it is. You have the opportunity to do it again with your
- 5:45second book. Like, if you had to do it again, would you
- 5:53do it again? Oh? Most definitely. Yes. It's an amazing feeling
- 5:59to be able to put your words out to the world and dis you know,
- 6:04disregard what what, just your feelings and sharing yourself with the world.
- 6:11That's awesome. That's an awesome feeling. Yes, I would do it time
- 6:14and time and get in I'm thrilled every time. So this is my second
- 6:17book. I was thrilled, like I was. You know, I always
- 6:19say like I'm having a baby. I felt like I had a baby when
- 6:24I had to when I put out the second book. It's just a joy,
- 6:27it really is. Wow. Well, we have our second poet backstage.
- 6:33You're gonna bring her up in a lot of introduce herself, and she
- 6:38introduced herself. We're gonna start sharing some of our work. So we're gonna
- 6:45like, mm hmm, is it gonna bring up this internet or whatever it's
- 7:10doing whatever it want to do. So hopefully it will allow her to stay
- 7:14Hey, how are you Hey? Can you hear me? Yeah? I
- 7:19can't. Internet wanted to do what he wanted to do, or whatever it
- 7:24wanted to do. I said, the powers that be something else, Boy,
- 7:26they be when it seemed like every time it was something good supposed to
- 7:31come like, they don't like it. That the powers that we don't like
- 7:36for people to be seen and and for people to be recognized, and for
- 7:43you know, they don't like good stuff and to come together. Yeah,
- 7:53and and and and heal, because poetry can be healing, like literally,
- 7:58like it can be like people don't know that just being able to release,
- 8:03being able to get stuff out sometime could do your life just like it can
- 8:09it can do so good. So please introduce yourself. Let those that are
- 8:13tuned in know who you are and a little bit about your brain you would
- 8:20well, hello, everybody. My name is Camera Shave Ruckman. The title
- 8:28of my my up and coming book is called Rooty Child. It's a part
- 8:33of a series. I'm sorry, I'm getting used to this new phone.
- 8:37My bad. This camera just killing me. But I've been writing for pretty
- 8:45much as long as I can remember. I was a little girl when I
- 8:46first started writing poetry. And I. When I first started writing, I
- 8:52wrote just just for what I was going through as a child, you know,
- 8:58like all the different things that that I experienced in my childhood and foster
- 9:05care and different things like that, And it became therapeutic for me. And
- 9:11like as I got older, it grew on me and it was like I
- 9:16had a story that I wanted to tell and I wanted to hear you know
- 9:24what I'm saying, because it was like being growing up in foster care,
- 9:28you get silenced a lot, You barely have a voice. Sometimes nobody really
- 9:33want to listen to you, Nobody really want to hear what you got to
- 9:35say. So when I took on poetry, poetry was everything for me.
- 9:41That was my way to get out everything that I felt, everything that I
- 9:45disliked and all of that. You know, like even as I got older,
- 9:48became a mom and stuff like that and started dealing with relationships and stuff
- 9:52like that. It helped me through a lot of different things outside of having
- 9:56God on my side and making I'm sure I acknowledged that, you know what
- 10:03I'm saying, and it helped me. But a whole entimere of theories together,
- 10:11of just experiences that not only I've experienced, but a lot of other
- 10:18people women men around the world have also experienced dealing with having messed up childhoods
- 10:26and crazy adulthoods and going through different relationships and stuff like that. You know.
- 10:31So when I started writing and I wanted to tell my story, it
- 10:35was important because it was about not only me telling my story, but letting
- 10:43other people hear that they not bad itself and what they go through. A
- 10:46lot of people go through a lot of stuff and it's get hushed, you
- 10:48know. But it was like, I wanted people to understand you're not out
- 10:54here by yourself. You don't got to go through this mess alone, you
- 10:58know what I'm saying. And a lot of people didn't really didn't really have
- 11:01that, and I just wanted to always be that voice for for those you
- 11:07know, wow, wow, Well I already know y'all that these poems right
- 11:16here's gonna be deep, y'all. There's gonna be some deep poems. So
- 11:18I'm telling you right now, y'all better sit back. I hope y'all got
- 11:22y'all something to sip on. I ain't got anything, y'all. I hope
- 11:24y'all got y'all something to sip on, because I can tell these gonna be
- 11:28deep. We're gonna start with Miss Martine. We're gonna allow her share her
- 11:33peace. Y'all, y'alls yourself yourself, because I know the's gonna be deep.
- 11:41Well, I'm I'm gonna start out with her. I'm gonna start out
- 11:46with a light with a lighter, lighter poem. And it's called It's called
- 11:52bonded. He is the fire that warms her heart. He's the water that
- 12:03quenches her thirst. He is the air that fills her lungs, the one
- 12:07who feels her soul. He has made her a hole he is. She
- 12:15is the one who ignites his passions and lights the flame. She is the
- 12:18one that brings harmony to him. She soothes his soul. She is a
- 12:24piece he never found. She is. Is it possible? Is this true?
- 12:30The two have found each other, bonded souls connected. They are melodic,
- 12:35They breathe life into each other. They are love. They are one.
- 12:41They are that's bonded. Wow wow wow wow. We're gonna talk about
- 12:52that in a minute. We're gonna talk about that in a minute. Say,
- 12:58Lusha, the first one with is called think understand that you know what
- 13:09I mean. It goes like this. Someone once told me what you reap,
- 13:13you will also sow and outpouring of positivity is sure to send back positive
- 13:18vibes. Yet when you conscious consciously resort to negativity, your life will be
- 13:26played that with negativity. Lots of times these two differentials go above people's heads,
- 13:33with one with the ones doing wrong seemingly not understanding why nothing's going right
- 13:39for them, and the ones doing right praying then nothing will go wrong when
- 13:46you f up. Just say when you f up, you must clean up
- 13:52your mess. And no, I didn't say, whatever happened to a past
- 13:58you is your far I said, for the wrong you do is your fault,
- 14:05so you'll be blamed. I mean, these were your actions. You
- 14:09either agree and both be right, or disagree and you be wrong. You
- 14:16only become more bearable by changing from within. If you do not like thinking
- 14:24negative thoughts, take time to think positivesty. If you don't like how you
- 14:28act, start changing behaviors. Start from within and find the will to deal
- 14:35with every reason Why we had rather run from ourselves, you would change the
- 14:43person you're running from. Wow, what was the inspiration behind that piece.
- 14:54It's like accepting. Some times you have to accept the fact that you the
- 15:01problem in the situation, no matter what the situation is. It's not always
- 15:07somebody else's fault. Sometimes you just got to accept that I messed up a
- 15:11little bit too. This part I could, I did play a part of
- 15:15you know what I'm saying, it's just for me. It was just accountability.
- 15:20That's what that was for me. Just accountability. Sometimes you just got
- 15:24to just say, you know what, that's my that's my fault. You
- 15:30know, wow, wow, transparent moment. Nothing like accountability. So m's
- 15:39Martin. What inspired your piece? Well after? What inspired my feet piece
- 15:48was finally being hold and knowing that I finally had met someone that accepted me
- 15:52for me. See, because you don't you don't know true love unless you
- 16:00experienced something bad, and so when you walk through something bad, you can
- 16:04appreciate something more. So that's why in the Stanzas I write what what what
- 16:10he is to her and what she is to him? That make them come
- 16:12together? And that's what that was. That's what makes uh harmonic, UH
- 16:18relationship work. That's that's in harmony. If you know two people come together
- 16:26and make each other hole wow mm hm oh wow. Yeah, you have
- 16:33to experience the bad, so you know the good. Yeah that that is
- 16:37true. That is true. Yeah wow wow. So I did earlier and
- 16:48in the first hour hour I was sharing with the young ladies that the poet
- 16:53that were sharing and those that tuned in that I also I write. So
- 16:59I shared a little bit about some of the things that I've done. We
- 17:00actually this book, we we shared this this little book here, but we
- 17:07actually since y'all are talking about love and accountability, like, I was like,
- 17:11well, let me pull out this one because this is the finding love.
- 17:17Seeing the first part of the series was finding forgiveness. So we we
- 17:22went through the stages of you know, we forgave ourselves, we forgave other
- 17:26people, we found hope, and then we moved on. I said,
- 17:30well, since they talking about I love, I said, let me pull
- 17:32out, let me pull out my liberooks. They may pull out. Then
- 17:37we put out minds and share one of my poems. So the one that
- 17:41I'm going to share tonight is called Unwavering Love. Embracing my self first in
- 17:48the depth of my soul, I found souls and unwavering Love that gives me
- 17:55grace. I chose to love myself unbanished, For in this journey, my
- 18:00spirit remains steadfast, resilient. I arise from the trials and door equipped with
- 18:07strength, my secured I'll embrace my flaws, my imperfections, and let self
- 18:12love God me so my soul's reflection. For in and loving myself, I
- 18:21find the key to cherish others unconditionally. With open arms, compassion will flow,
- 18:27delivering love wherever I go. In this journey of life, we all
- 18:33embark. The foundation of love begins with a spark of self acceptance and unwavering
- 18:40care. For only then can love truly be shared. And that's that piece
- 18:49like that I like him h well. I included that in the Silently Hurt,
- 18:59Hurt No More. Finding Love was this particular book and it is a
- 19:07part of a mental health series that we did because a lot of times,
- 19:11you know, we go through stuff and we deal with stuff and we don't
- 19:15find the forgiveness. We don't. We we hold a lot of stuff in
- 19:22and during the joint journey we lose hope. We lose hope and a lot
- 19:29of stuff. And then when we lose hope, we we forget how to
- 19:32love, and we forget how to allow people to love us. So in
- 19:37this book, I want to share that you know, no matter what we
- 19:41go through, if we hold on, we can find on wavering love because
- 19:47you know, that's one of the things that I think that you know,
- 19:52he want us to walk in you know, because you know we love is
- 19:56an action word and we're moving that. So yeah, right, So that's
- 20:02that piece and I want to share that. So I want to share that
- 20:04while y'all think of something else that y'all can share. I hope y'all ready,
- 20:10because tonight is about y'all sharing y'all, y'all voice and y'all words.
- 20:15But you know, I throw a little bit in there every now and then,
- 20:18but it's about y'all and people being able to connect with you, y'all.
- 20:22Yes, I want people to know who y'all are. So Ms,
- 20:26Marcey, you have something else for us? Yes? I do, so
- 20:33ready. This poet is called Morphed Secret Identity. Who am I? I've
- 20:41morphed? I've changed only for him. I've taken on his likes and his
- 20:45dislikes. But I wonder does he know mine? I'm Morphed. I've changed
- 20:52my friends even know this. I'm not the same my personality, my looks,
- 20:59my glove. Oh, I've changed in something beautiful in my line.
- 21:03But to the people on the outside looking in, I've morphed into something new
- 21:08but strange. The people say, he too is to blame. My identity
- 21:15snuffed, taking away The true me has to be hidden away, morphed away,
- 21:22conforming to thoughts, ideology placed by him. The people on the outside
- 21:26simply state, you're not taking the time to realize that if you have to
- 21:32morph for the person you are with, they're not the correct choice for you,
- 21:37not worth your time. I siddently analyzed, taking the advice in,
- 21:41slowly realizing the words are true, because the question is with he morph for
- 21:48you? Wow? Wow, that's deep. That's deep. But that's so
- 21:57true because I lot of time we find ourselves changing for our mates, and
- 22:06we get out and trying to change for our mate and we lose ourselves.
- 22:14We lose ourselves, And that that's deep. That is deep. Wow wow
- 22:23yeah wow morphed All right now, somebody said Morphed all right now, moph
- 22:33wow yeah yeah, So go ahead, because I want you to talk about
- 22:41that poem. Well, I want you to give me some some some some
- 22:45backlight, some some background on that poem. Okay, that that poem was
- 22:51inspired through conversations with my girlfriends, because I mean a man or a woman
- 22:56could morph. Let me preface that, but the majority of the time,
- 23:00we as women change, We change and take on the identity of who we're
- 23:07with. And so I was talking to one of my girlfriends, a couple
- 23:11of girlfriends, and we have a friend that whoever she's with, she's changes.
- 23:15She's fishing, she's swimming, you know, she's doing stuff to meet
- 23:21his identity, but yet she hasn't found herself. So my point of the
- 23:25point is, you know, whether it's a male or female, think about
- 23:30it. Are they meeting you halfway where you don't have to change yourself because
- 23:33if you can't change, but if you have to change and they don't accept
- 23:37who you are as a person, that's not that's really not love you No,
- 23:44that's not love because if someone loves you, they accept you for with
- 23:48your flaws. You're good and you're bad, because that's what love is is
- 23:52it encompasses all the good and the bad. So if you have to change
- 23:56and hide way, think about it. Because a lot of times your family
- 24:00and friends notice the changes before you, you know, before you do,
- 24:03and by the time you realize that you've morphed, as I say, you
- 24:08know, you're all the way down that rabbit hole, right, So that
- 24:14that's really what is what inspired it, you know, And that can be,
- 24:18like I said, for a man or a woman, because men can
- 24:22change to trying to please a woman, you know. So it's just yes,
- 24:29I got that because I see it all the time, you know,
- 24:33like when you start doing that right a new girl like I don't have cousins.
- 24:42I don't have Look, I don't have male cousins. Yes, brothers
- 24:48that have done it right. Yeah, they accept stuff that they normally wouldn't
- 24:52accept because they want to be with her. Yeah, I've I've seen both
- 24:56sides of the spectrum. Yep. Yes, this. I love for us
- 25:03to be able to have these these these these these come together and these little
- 25:07opportunities because we can really break down and give people an opportunity to to see
- 25:12what they're gonna be getting out of our brands and all of these books when
- 25:18they purchase these books. Like you're dealing with relationships, you're dealing with step
- 25:25issues, you're dealing with a lot of different stuff, like I've heard so
- 25:30much, like Wow, we're gonna let shape, and then we're coming back
- 25:36to you like we got time. Oh yeah, we got time. We
- 25:38got we got time. We're not going nowhere to the next come on that
- 25:48eight we got all right. This one is called don't come South from a
- 25:59racist people bought and sold from a country, not sure what the hell they
- 26:03were thinking, People held against their will and forced into slave ships, and
- 26:08sad set out to a foreign land that was stolen also that was also stolen
- 26:15from a race not their own, forced to work, beating into submission,
- 26:22rape mained, selling mothers, fathers, sons, and daughters to the highest
- 26:26business, not caring about ruining our family. They have been ripping apart black
- 26:32families long before the government housing. Don't be daffed. We all know better
- 26:37than that shit. Pay attention to the livelihoods of stolen black neighborhoods beating up
- 26:47and burned down. Let's not forget all the lives they stolen, every single
- 26:52victim of their brutality, the blatant disregard for black values and black lives,
- 26:59and then the US lock us up stealing our time when we take to the
- 27:04streets and protest, screaming black lives matter, stealing opportunities to be confrontational,
- 27:12then go and cry for the cameras when you get smacked with that same confrontational
- 27:19energy you brought into the room. Stopking wish it. Don't get so offended
- 27:29by black lives matter. It is not to say we matter more than other
- 27:34people. We also don't matter any less than them. There's no one there's
- 27:41no one man above the other. And you, yeah, you with your
- 27:45coarse hand, your bronze skin, walking with that gun in your pants,
- 27:48looking for trouble, you are know better than the others. While you making
- 27:53every black man that you meet your enemy the goal. Haven't you seen enough
- 28:00of that? Haven't you worried enough of your own having balloon releases, candle
- 28:07lights and parents and agony screaming over a close casting. When's enough enough?
- 28:14Stop selling yourself short? All right? Wow? So what was the charge
- 28:26behind that? Well, it was a lot. It was a lot.
- 28:33It was just like a lot of men like me and a few of my
- 28:40friends, was having a home a conversation about like when all the and the
- 28:48killings and stuff was going on, and people just really quick to play victor
- 28:57A lot a lot of times you just so a lot of people playing victim.
- 29:02And then it's like when you go in certain neighborhoods or whatever, it's
- 29:07like you see them walking around, they fighting, and you know this person
- 29:15got a gun or that person got a gun or whatever what have you.
- 29:18You know what I'm saying. And it's just like, at what point do
- 29:22y'all get enough of this? Like y'all ain't buried enough people yet? Like
- 29:26when do you say that's okay, let me stop, let me go take
- 29:30care of my kids, or go see my mam muslin. You know what
- 29:33I'm saying. It's just like people just it's just like they didn't want to
- 29:42see nothing positive. Understand your word. When you're gonna know you when you
- 29:48when you yourself, you know what I'm saying. As opposed like, you
- 29:55gotta value you before you expect somebody else to. If you not bringing no
- 29:59value to your own life, why you think somebody else will? You gotta
- 30:03got it pay, you know what I'm saying. You gotta do better,
- 30:06to be better, to do better, do better, to be better,
- 30:08to have it to come. That's saying go. But you gotta do that
- 30:11to be that right. But if you're not doing what you gotta do,
- 30:17and then you'll screaming in the streets about that. They got to get,
- 30:22they have to get put themselves in a position to where they can see we've
- 30:26learned a lot of this stuff is learned, and it keep getting danced down
- 30:33from generation to generation. You know, this is what I'm gonna say,
- 30:38dude, this is what you know. And and if you come from those
- 30:41families, what you do what they tell you to do, and not what
- 30:45they do. You you what what they tell you to do is what you
- 30:48do. So what you do what they say in the house, you know,
- 30:52don't go outside the house. So whatever happened, he'll stay here.
- 30:56And a lot of us walking around here with trauma, a lot of us
- 31:00walking around with trauma that we don't really know what we're dealing with because a
- 31:03lot of it happened to us in our non consciousness when we was young,
- 31:08stuff that we can't remember. We knew it happened, we kind of experienced
- 31:11it, but because you were young, you you didn't really remember it all.
- 31:17Because now that you've grown and you start developing, start learning stuff,
- 31:22and then you can block some of that stuff out, but still it's back
- 31:25there, it's behind you, and it's just ready to come out in any
- 31:30given opportunity. You know. That's that trauma, and that's that's that stuff
- 31:34that you know, they try to brush under the rug and they want to
- 31:37give you a pill for, or they want to label you crazy for,
- 31:40they want to put you they want to you know, do our kind of
- 31:44stuff to us as brown people, you know, but just be crazy and
- 31:51just being able to like speak to people Like now, I'm seeing so many
- 31:57people writing that I never would even imagine writing books, you know, I'm
- 32:06seeing a lot of people being able to, you know, say Okay,
- 32:09I'm gonna I'm gonna put this in on on paper. I'm gonna put this
- 32:13down because somebody needs. Don't care what walk of life they've come from,
- 32:16that something in their life their experiences can help somebody else. And I tell
- 32:22you, poetry has been that outlet for a lot of people. Has been
- 32:30that outlet. A lot of people have given people opportunities that may not have
- 32:36have stepped out, you know, because I listened to these open mic contests
- 32:42when when they are just spitting and they having these these slams and they're just
- 32:47going back and forth and people expressing their childhood and how they grew up and
- 32:53things that they've experienced, like it's just amazing. Like I again, I
- 32:59have to thank you guys for just coming on here and and sharing and just
- 33:05allowing people to tap into your words, because words speak, and people just
- 33:13don't know how powerful words are and how your words can change. They can
- 33:21change life, they can change your situations, it can change things. And
- 33:27people just staying that, like, Wow, I want to hear some more.
- 33:30So we're gonna bring miss Martine up and and and allow her. Get
- 33:36your piece read to shame. Get your piece ready, Miss Martine, your
- 33:40turn again, y'all. We got some time, we got about Look,
- 33:43we got over twenty minutes, so I'm m I'm ready. So this one
- 33:52I'll share is called Devil's Reflection. Okay, the Devil's reflection. It's always
- 33:58in your eyes? Who said you despise? Fix what's inside, make yourself
- 34:04whole. Don't let the devil own your soul. See, the devil is
- 34:08tricky. Remember he was God's right hand man. He loved planning and protected
- 34:15God until he fell. He fell long and hard from grace, lost his
- 34:21place, So now he tries on anyone who will open up and be owned.
- 34:27Lost soul, desperately seeking someone in a plight that can't be undone,
- 34:34steady falling, and he's calling to you. Get him out of your soul,
- 34:39make yourself whole. You still have time to reconcile and rise. Leave
- 34:46that devil behind. So wow wow, So yeah, So that one,
- 35:02That one was written because people have a lot of vices that they deal with
- 35:08and they're and and they're always around, and people are unaware of daily vices.
- 35:14It could be specifically that was written because someone that was dealing with a
- 35:22drug problem that was in a hospital and his mother at his foot of his
- 35:29bed crying, why are you doing this? You know what I'm saying,
- 35:35get out of that. You let the devil have a grip on you,
- 35:38right, And a lot of people do that, and I call the devil
- 35:42anything that's that's holding you from what you're doing. It could be money,
- 35:45it could be drugs, It could be another person you know in a relationship
- 35:49that's holding you back, that's hindering you. So I'm sorry, I'm trying
- 35:54not to get this one is just like it really cuts as deep to me,
- 35:59right, it cut because yeah, that's the double only you just like
- 36:04you know, a lot of people don't like to acknowledge that there's a Lucifer
- 36:07Saint or whatever you may call him, that he's there because it's like it's
- 36:10a God above, it's a it's a double blow. And so you know
- 36:14what I'm saying, mm hmm, very behind. He is very real,
- 36:22he's very we know that he's very rare. And I tell you, yeah,
- 36:28I definitely can't relate to what you're saying. And I'm over here.
- 36:31I get to y'all, but I'm gonna try not to cry. But I
- 36:37get fentamental too because I remember having a cousin I was dealing with with battling
- 36:45with this drug issue, you know, and I would I would be praying
- 36:52for him. And I remember having conversations with their parents and you know,
- 36:58they saying that they don't see the prayer work, and you know, they
- 37:00don't see the prayer work. And I say, well, God's time,
- 37:04and is God's time? And then I say, I can pray all day.
- 37:06I said, but until God get ready to move, I said,
- 37:07it's not gonna happen. But now what God has done. You know it
- 37:13took a minute. He don't always move on our time. But we've got
- 37:15to be willing to take those steps. I allow those negatives because we have
- 37:21that power. If we speak positive, positive will happen. But if we're
- 37:24always speaking, if we were just making room for that thing to come on
- 37:29in. But you got the we are speaking, we have negative to you.
- 37:36Yes, we be positive, be positive because guess what he said over
- 37:39in Proverbs twenty one. We got well, we got the power. Uh,
- 37:44we got no eighteen to twenty. We got the power of life and
- 37:47death in our tongue. We got the power to speak that thing. We
- 37:52can speak it into we can speak it into fruition. But if we speak
- 37:55it negatived those negative things, I'm telling you we can serve those negative things.
- 38:01But I'm grateful because you know, everybody may not go to church,
- 38:08and everybody may not open a bible and read their bible, but they can
- 38:13pick up these poetry. They can pick up these these poems and they can
- 38:17be blessed because it's a lot of what has transpired throughout this show has been
- 38:24based on your spirit and your wholeness and and in your body like the last
- 38:30the last three poets. I mean it just about everything was was was about
- 38:36spirit and and about the Creator and and and just being able to share because
- 38:43everybody ain't picking and everybody ain't going in the church because you know a lot
- 38:47of people feel a lot of different ways about religion right now, you know,
- 38:51so we having to get it. We we are having it. You
- 38:53know, people don't understand when he say we should do greater works. Guess
- 38:58what these are the greater works? These are these these, these are the
- 39:02greater works. Because he knew what we was going need. He knew everything
- 39:07about us, so he knew that it was gonna be a follow away.
- 39:09It was gonna be a following the way of the church. But how do
- 39:12you keep people connected to him? Because it's not about the church, Because
- 39:15at the end of the day, we are the church. People are the
- 39:20church, and we forget that, you know, we forget that. We
- 39:22talked about some buildings, were talking about these buildings that people be going to.
- 39:25The ain't no church. When they realize that they're gonna man, they'll
- 39:30be blessed, they'll be blessed. But it ain't about me, y'all.
- 39:34I'm gonna not the way. Shay, it's your turn, girl, It's
- 39:37your turn. The next one that I'm reading is it's tit of kindness,
- 39:45and here it goes. I have wept in the wee hours of the night,
- 39:52sighing into my memory pham pillow for the shortness of sight, wrestling with
- 39:58the thoughts to take flight, thinking that someone else's needs had made me blind.
- 40:05Maybe I'm losing my mind, But nonetheless, I've never felt a tinge
- 40:09of regret in a kind gesture, never letting bad moods fester. The warmert
- 40:15smell may melt. The cold is hard like butter given a sense of serenity
- 40:22like no other different flowers around you. Cultivating your garden with loving kindness.
- 40:30Make plans for the future as if happiness were all there ever was all.
- 40:37The bad days will get better, and the good days will be back soon.
- 40:43Don't give up before giving yourself time to start. It's okay to follow
- 40:49your heart. We tend to allow people who let us down to fester in
- 40:54our minds. Although our time on theirs has passed. We try to make
- 41:00it last. But that start a new find solidarity you'll have. You'll you'll
- 41:15find someone who keep their word, just like you kept yours. Can y'all
- 41:22hear me? Yes? Allow you allow them to show you differently. Open
- 41:29your mind, let it melt your heart, and embrace the new start.
- 41:39Uh need to see what may come of it. I mean it just may
- 41:46be a hit. What if is the only way to short circuit ourselfs fulfilling
- 41:53prophecies of glowming dome each time after another meeting, become let each time after
- 42:04another meeting, becomes less fearful of what if and more comfortable with what is
- 42:09knowing the purpose is to do this for our kids. It doesn't matter that
- 42:23others have denied you. Make sure that you don't give up on yourself.
- 42:29Have affirmation of self, and the thoughts of those that don't matter won't matter.
- 42:35Listen to a higher power for strength, hope, and guidance. What's
- 42:38stopping you from making plans and taking risks except the fact that our character defects,
- 42:44fierce, actions, and defenses were all constructed before adulthood. Learning who
- 42:51we are takes time, and so does sifting out the shit that will defeat
- 42:54you and remain detrimental to your health. While keeping some bits of your selse
- 43:00work, leave behind talk to situations and relationships because self carrying at all,
- 43:07selfish, it's essential to your survival. The new user rival. Kay wow
- 43:17wow, I'm telling y'all, so, y'all, we're gonna do. Don't
- 43:23bring up a commercial real quick, y'all, and then we're gonna come right
- 43:28back, and then we're gonna close. But I won't before we close,
- 43:31y'all. I want y'all to share how people can connect with y'all because,
- 43:37like, I really want people to be able to connect with y'all, because
- 43:39y'all, I know they're gonna be one like what can I get? Where
- 43:44can I get this? Like really like, y'all gonna drop some stuff tonight,
- 43:47like and and and and some people need to hear this and and they
- 43:52need to tap into this because, like I said earlier, you know,
- 43:57we all a lot of stuff don't happen out in this world. Life be
- 44:00happening. That that's what the children saying. Now, life be happening,
- 44:05So be happening. Then you know, we're trying to keep up with what's
- 44:10going on, and we're trying to draw these kids. We're trying to you
- 44:14know, we want to share, Like I I know that if these books
- 44:17got into the right hands and and the parents, you know, if people
- 44:22could really see that some of this stuff, Look, maybe I need to
- 44:28look at me. Maybe I need to maybe I need to go in here
- 44:30and sit down and check me out and see what I know. You know,
- 44:35what I know, straight, what I know, messed up? You
- 44:37know what I'm saying. So like a lot of this it's reflection and that's
- 44:45look, let me bring her on up here because that's the name of her
- 44:47book, right, that's right, perfection It Just imagine going through the book
- 44:57and just reading those poems and just having a reflection of yourself just pop up.
- 45:04You you come across this and you read this poem and then you're like,
- 45:07oh, wow, I went through that. It is an opportunity like
- 45:12this this We well be being transparent in these books, y'all like that that,
- 45:19You like, Wow, I didn't know she was going through that.
- 45:22I didn't know she experienced. Right, Yeah, that's when when they pick
- 45:28up these books, they be like, wow, oh wait, no,
- 45:32I didn't know who's going through that. Like yeah, so y'all we're gonna
- 45:37we're gonna be right back, and y'all be ready to share how people can
- 45:39connect with y'all and then if y'all have something that y'all want to, you
- 45:43know, share with the people before we leave. This is gonna be your
- 45:46opportunity before we go into the next group. Okay, so let's go to
- 45:51this brief intermission. It's gonna be brief, y'all. It's gonna be real
- 45:55quick. How about seventeen seconds, y'all be ready. Aspiring Author's Magazine.
