- 0:06Speaker 1: Welcome to another episode.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Oh we're taking over TT.
- 0:10Speaker 1: You were on your phone and I was ready for action.
- 0:14Speaker 3: Okay, welcome to the bonus episode and we give them
- 0:17Speaker 3: a podcast.
- 0:17Speaker 2: We're back.
- 0:18Speaker 3: I am so excited about this episode because there are
- 0:22Speaker 3: so many times that I do something and I go,
- 0:26Speaker 3: oh my.
- 0:26Speaker 2: God, I'm my mom.
- 0:28Speaker 1: Yeah. No, it's not going well for me.
- 0:31Speaker 2: Because you become mom or dad.
- 0:34Speaker 4: That's a sad one. I don't know how I if
- 0:36Speaker 4: I am becoming dad. I don't see anything anymore, you know,
- 0:40Speaker 4: And I was twenty five when you passed, So it's
- 0:42Speaker 4: like telling things.
- 0:44Speaker 2: There are things you do that remind me of dad.
- 0:46Speaker 1: Will you point them out from now on?
- 0:48Speaker 2: Of course I will.
- 0:48Speaker 4: Okay, Yeah, but no, I here's the thing your dad
- 0:53Speaker 4: and I am mom.
- 0:54Speaker 1: That has been it from birth. You are more like Dad.
- 0:57Speaker 3: I am more like constantly riddled with stre riddled with stress, overthinks,
- 1:02Speaker 3: very like particular of like how things are set up.
- 1:06Speaker 4: You like things organized, you know, even like I open
- 1:11Speaker 4: your thing because I needed to clean my ears when
- 1:13Speaker 4: I was just in your bathroom chatting with you, and
- 1:15Speaker 4: I was like, oh and I open it and I'm like,
- 1:16Speaker 4: this is fucking dad's drawer set perfectly.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Then I go into Lisa's room.
- 1:21Speaker 4: You open it and there's just shit everywhere, and I'm like, ah,
- 1:24Speaker 4: this is me home.
- 1:26Speaker 2: Yeah, so that much more comfortable digging.
- 1:29Speaker 1: I love a good dig for something good. Then when
- 1:31Speaker 1: you dig, you're like, oh my god, I forgot I
- 1:33Speaker 1: got that. Now. I don't like digging. It's just who
- 1:36Speaker 1: I am, and there's no change in it.
- 1:37Speaker 2: It's oh, I love me.
- 1:38Speaker 3: Like an organizing uh box, like from Amazon where all
- 1:43Speaker 3: of like the acrylic boxes come out and they're like
- 1:46Speaker 3: tiny ones, bigger ones, huge ones to just organize, organize.
- 1:50Speaker 3: I came up the other day and got into our
- 1:53Speaker 3: medicine slash by product cabinet and there's like an I've
- 2:00Speaker 3: made sure it stays perfect. I always put everything back in,
- 2:03Speaker 3: Like mom's contacts. The box of contacts are just like
- 2:08Speaker 3: sitting on a shelf in front of all the adult medications.
- 2:14Speaker 2: And I'm like, what the.
- 2:16Speaker 1: Fuck is this?
- 2:17Speaker 4: She goes Lisa, can we try and keep the medicine
- 2:22Speaker 4: cabinet clean?
- 2:23Speaker 1: Please just show me. I showed her.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Trust me. I went up there and I said, do
- 2:29Speaker 2: you see this?
- 2:31Speaker 3: See the shelf right here, this is where your box belongs.
- 2:35Speaker 3: That's why there there's nothing here because the box was
- 2:38Speaker 3: there where I put it, and then you removed it
- 2:40Speaker 3: and it still has a place to Nothing's going to
- 2:44Speaker 3: be there. You won't know why because I designated it
- 2:46Speaker 3: to your contacts.
- 2:47Speaker 1: I'm also mom. I leave my shoes around now.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Oh my biggest pet peeve. You just take them off
- 2:54Speaker 2: in the.
- 2:54Speaker 3: Middle of the floor walking high traffic areas so that
- 2:58Speaker 3: someone's just ready to break their face at every good
- 3:01Speaker 3: given moment.
- 3:02Speaker 2: Can I tell you what mine is?
- 3:03Speaker 3: Yeah, when Ocean talks back to me and she asks
- 3:06Speaker 3: me why I tell her to do something or why
- 3:09Speaker 3: she can't, and I go, because I'm the mom and
- 3:11Speaker 3: you're the child, I hate that. I hate it too,
- 3:14Speaker 3: but it stopped myself. I was like, oh no, that's
- 3:17Speaker 3: how I grew up. My mom told me that, and
- 3:20Speaker 3: I hated it.
- 3:20Speaker 1: But Lisa did it in such a shitty way.
- 3:24Speaker 2: You really are chatting on Lisa today.
- 3:26Speaker 4: It's because she's so great, and it's just because I
- 3:29Speaker 4: have to. But when you when we'd ask her to
- 3:31Speaker 4: do something or like we didn't and.
- 3:33Speaker 1: She'd go, well, that's so cute. I'm the mom and
- 3:37Speaker 1: you're the kid.
- 3:38Speaker 2: Yeah, you're gonna do it.
- 3:40Speaker 1: Yeah, get the high pitch voice.
- 3:41Speaker 3: I want to know why, because I'm the mom and
- 3:44Speaker 3: you're the kid. Isn't that so fun? So like when
- 3:46Speaker 3: I say something it goes, isn't it so great?
- 3:50Speaker 2: And it's like, oh my.
- 3:51Speaker 1: God, you can't even rebottle this.
- 3:53Speaker 4: Yeah, it's like the only thing I can do is
- 3:55Speaker 4: beat your ass and I'm not gonna do that.
- 3:56Speaker 1: No, you can't do that, So I guess I'm doing it.
- 3:59Speaker 3: So Iileen means underscore lights. I cackled when I read this,
- 4:05Speaker 3: and then I realized I misread it, but it said
- 4:06Speaker 3: I called my kids.
- 4:07Speaker 5: Boch, but it was actually by each be why It's
- 4:15Speaker 5: just it was one word, so I thought she called
- 4:18Speaker 5: her kids boch and maybe like her mom used to
- 4:20Speaker 5: call her piace.
- 4:21Speaker 2: I was like, damn, I like this one. I call
- 4:24Speaker 2: my kids by each of their sibs names.
- 4:26Speaker 3: Accidentally, first said I would never do it, but you.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Know when you go through the lineup, Dad used to
- 4:32Speaker 2: do that.
- 4:33Speaker 3: Laurenson, I mean door, damn it, Lily, it's like, oh,
- 4:38Speaker 3: we're trying to do the dog's attention.
- 4:40Speaker 1: You do that?
- 4:40Speaker 2: Yeah, I do it all the time. That's just being
- 4:42Speaker 2: a parent. I feel I'm not gonna judge that. I'm
- 4:45Speaker 2: not gonna judge her at all.
- 4:46Speaker 4: But I do that, and that is is that? Just
- 4:49Speaker 4: do you inherit that from your parents? Just calling out
- 4:52Speaker 4: wrong names?
- 4:53Speaker 2: Probably, I would say.
- 4:54Speaker 1: So because I've been called Pablo before. Oh yeah, we've
- 4:58Speaker 1: all okay, very different, but glad we're in the same bow.
- 5:03Speaker 2: At least compare humans to humans.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Yeah, call me not Pablo.
- 5:07Speaker 2: No nor a German. Wow, I can barely read today.
- 5:11Speaker 4: It's been a long couple of it's been a long
- 5:14Speaker 4: couple of days.
- 5:14Speaker 1: I can even speak my legs.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Did Germans eighty six?
- 5:18Speaker 3: Yelling at my kids and husband to turn off the
- 5:20Speaker 3: lights behind them because it's wasting electricity.
- 5:22Speaker 2: This feels like I'm watching the commercial that.
- 5:25Speaker 4: Yeah, and mom used to do that East End, turn
- 5:28Speaker 4: off the lights unless you own the electric company? Yeah,
- 5:32Speaker 4: do you own the electric company? No, then turn off
- 5:34Speaker 4: the lights. That's what they today. Okay, fuck forgot.
- 5:38Speaker 3: And I feel the same way when I'm at home,
- 5:40Speaker 3: I'm like, turn off the lights.
- 5:42Speaker 2: No one's in here, why are we doing this?
- 5:44Speaker 1: Well, you have kids now, and it's truly annoying.
- 5:48Speaker 3: Like Dad with the thermostad was the most annoying thing
- 5:50Speaker 3: in the world. Like I would crank it to lay
- 5:52Speaker 3: on the heater then and I would hear him come
- 5:55Speaker 3: in and I'd see him over there adjusting it, and
- 5:57Speaker 3: I'm like, stop doing that.
- 5:59Speaker 1: Taught in here, Yeah, I want it. It's hot in.
- 6:01Speaker 2: Here, because it's freezing out there.
- 6:04Speaker 3: It's the point if I wanted to be cold, i'd
- 6:07Speaker 3: go outside.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Are we you guys, do we even touch the thermostat anymore?
- 6:15Speaker 2: No? Because I keep it pretty.
- 6:17Speaker 1: It's at a great level. Mind.
- 6:19Speaker 3: It's easy in California because the temperature doesn't change.
- 6:22Speaker 2: Really, it's like Groundhog's Day.
- 6:23Speaker 1: You've got beautiful weather every day.
- 6:25Speaker 2: Yeah, for real.
- 6:26Speaker 4: God, it's so great move to a place that skips
- 6:29Speaker 4: the shitty seasons.
- 6:32Speaker 3: But you do start missing, like having seasons where you're like, oh,
- 6:36Speaker 3: time has passed. When you're in La or in southern California,
- 6:41Speaker 3: you just wake up and it's your wrinkles that have
- 6:43Speaker 3: let you know that time has passed.
- 6:45Speaker 4: Yeah, and that beautiful is pressing. No, I hate watching seasons.
- 6:49Speaker 4: Go Ba makes it too real. It's like spring and
- 6:54Speaker 4: summer in Utah and then it's like, oh, winter's coming.
- 6:58Speaker 4: Now we're back to it. I like waking up in
- 7:00Speaker 4: the Groundhog's Day. I'm still twenty nine. We say, that's
- 7:07Speaker 4: what I feel.
- 7:08Speaker 1: It doesn't move here, That's what I mean.
- 7:11Speaker 2: And then you look in the mirror and you're like, oh,
- 7:12Speaker 2: I'm old. But right now time is fast.
- 7:14Speaker 1: I know.
- 7:16Speaker 3: Chrissy underscore spore Makers. I recently asked some teens if
- 7:20Speaker 3: they were tired. They said no, so I told them
- 7:22Speaker 3: to stop dragging their feet.
- 7:25Speaker 2: Oh no, God. And her profile picture is pretty young.
- 7:30Speaker 1: I love her. She worked out of school. I hope
- 7:34Speaker 1: I'm taking that to me. I'm taking that to Gigi.
- 7:36Speaker 1: Are you tired? No? Pick up your feet, guys.
- 7:41Speaker 4: She stepped on a napkin at dinner, tracks it out
- 7:45Speaker 4: of the restaurant.
- 7:46Speaker 1: Thank god it wasn't toilet paper.
- 7:48Speaker 4: And her mom, Claudia, is helping her and like she's
- 7:54Speaker 4: stepping on it and like Lisa's not even moving her foot,
- 7:57Speaker 4: She's like barely sliding it, and I kind of I go, Lisa,
- 8:01Speaker 4: you gotta pick up your damn foot.
- 8:02Speaker 1: Everyone was looking at her like.
- 8:06Speaker 2: She was like trying to get it out from under
- 8:07Speaker 2: my mom's.
- 8:08Speaker 4: Claudia was a second away from picking up Lisa's foot
- 8:10Speaker 4: and ripping it off, and so.
- 8:12Speaker 1: Is I pick up your feet, Lisa. Why do people
- 8:17Speaker 1: do that, not pick up their feet?
- 8:19Speaker 2: Yeah, like Mom will literally be just shuffling around.
- 8:22Speaker 1: I don't know how she has bottoms of shoes.
- 8:24Speaker 3: At the end of the kick steal, you guys, they
- 8:28Speaker 3: could have easily been avoided.
- 8:30Speaker 1: She always moved her feet.
- 8:32Speaker 4: She constantly has a band aid on her lower legs because.
- 8:37Speaker 2: She I'm gonna pass out.
- 8:39Speaker 4: She walks into the dishwasher, She walks into the lawn
- 8:44Speaker 4: chairs outside.
- 8:45Speaker 2: Doesn't walk, she glides.
- 8:47Speaker 1: She slides into them and then bleeds.
- 8:52Speaker 2: I'm gonna pass out.
- 8:54Speaker 3: I'm not joking because I'm picturing it. She constantly comes
- 8:58Speaker 3: out bleeding. I'm leaning again, and I'm like, I can't
- 9:01Speaker 3: handle this. I feel nauseous.
- 9:03Speaker 1: I'm not good with blood, not equipped for this life.
- 9:07Speaker 2: And I can I start feeling when I'm about to
- 9:09Speaker 2: go down.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Oh yeah, your vision starts to sink.
- 9:13Speaker 3: The other day, you guys, Brock was taking the girl's
- 9:17Speaker 3: miniature golfing and he needed a car seat for ocean.
- 9:21Speaker 3: So I open the door out to the garage to
- 9:23Speaker 3: see if it's in there, and one of my legs
- 9:25Speaker 3: is out, one of my feet or whatever, and I check.
- 9:29Speaker 3: I go to come back in, but the girls are
- 9:30Speaker 3: like right behind me, so I can't get my foot
- 9:32Speaker 3: in quick enough and there's like this metal thing under
- 9:35Speaker 3: the door and it just slides right over my toes.
- 9:39Speaker 3: When I tell you, it just like from the cuticle
- 9:42Speaker 3: down to.
- 9:43Speaker 1: Like the knuckle. Your god, it was disgusting.
- 9:47Speaker 3: I passed out the house, like are you good. I
- 9:50Speaker 3: was just like laying in the middle of the floor
- 9:52Speaker 3: and I like put my foot up to him.
- 9:54Speaker 2: I was like, deal with it, deal with it. I'm
- 9:56Speaker 2: going down. I'm going down because you're already down.
- 9:59Speaker 3: I was like, no, like, I'm not going to be
- 10:01Speaker 3: coherent in five seconds. Yeah, And he's like, I it's
- 10:05Speaker 3: not that bad, mate, it's just a little bloody.
- 10:07Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, we're gone.
- 10:09Speaker 1: And then he goes, how did you give birth?
- 10:11Speaker 2: I didn't hear him say that.
- 10:12Speaker 3: I was blacked out, goner, and I laid there for
- 10:15Speaker 3: good thirty minutes.
- 10:16Speaker 1: Oh yeah, why thirty you were an hour you were
- 10:19Speaker 1: laying there.
- 10:20Speaker 3: I do remember coming to you for a second and
- 10:23Speaker 3: Ocean runs and she's like, by mom, I'm gone. She
- 10:26Speaker 3: bends shees are you okay? I'm really worried about you.
- 10:29Speaker 3: By the time I could get yes out, she was gone.
- 10:32Speaker 1: There's things to be done.
- 10:33Speaker 2: Things to be done.
- 10:34Speaker 3: We got to get to put putt Gloria Catherine XO XO.
- 10:39Speaker 2: When I leave all the motherfucking.
- 10:41Speaker 3: Kitchen cabinets open, she put MF But I'm using mother effing.
- 10:45Speaker 2: That's so her mom, that's so my mom.
- 10:48Speaker 1: She forgets to close the fridge.
- 10:50Speaker 3: I don't like it. I don't what is so hard
- 10:53Speaker 3: about open shut? We learn it on Miss Rachel. Oh
- 10:56Speaker 3: beIN shut and oh beIN shut.
- 11:00Speaker 4: Mom leaves it at the opin and then she FROs over.
- 11:05Speaker 1: Then the song ends and she forgets to shut.
- 11:07Speaker 2: Yeah, what is that?
- 11:08Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 11:09Speaker 4: I do it too here and there, so I can't
- 11:10Speaker 4: fucking say shit on Lisa, it sucks, and it sucks
- 11:14Speaker 4: as you catch.
- 11:15Speaker 3: It, and you're like the station clean And can I
- 11:18Speaker 3: tell you another one that's so fucking annoying?
- 11:21Speaker 2: Tell me get two knives. Get two knives. Get two knives.
- 11:25Speaker 3: If you're gonna use butter, peanut butter and jelly, get.
- 11:28Speaker 2: Three one one knife does not belong at all.
- 11:32Speaker 6: Three My biggest pet peeve using the anything she uses
- 11:38Speaker 6: is going into the jelly and seeing peanut butter on
- 11:41Speaker 6: the top of it, because she has gone from the
- 11:44Speaker 6: peanut butter to the jelly.
- 11:48Speaker 1: Other thing.
- 11:49Speaker 4: I'll use one knife, peanut butter, peanut butter, one one slice.
- 11:53Speaker 4: When I go to the fresh slice, I clean the
- 11:55Speaker 4: knife and then on the fresh on the front.
- 11:58Speaker 1: Yes, and then I go into the jelly.
- 12:01Speaker 2: Thank you. What is for the love of God?
- 12:03Speaker 3: Can I tell you what this bitch asked me the
- 12:04Speaker 3: other day? We made corn on the cob. She gets the.
- 12:07Speaker 2: Butter dish out the butter dish.
- 12:10Speaker 3: God.
- 12:13Speaker 1: Okay, so now the butter has corn on the cob.
- 12:16Speaker 2: All she puts it back.
- 12:18Speaker 3: She puts it back, and I don't say anything because
- 12:19Speaker 3: I picked my battles. That's what I've been doing. I've
- 12:21Speaker 3: been picking my battles for the last couple of years.
- 12:24Speaker 3: I'm just flying under the radar. Don't look at me,
- 12:26Speaker 3: don't talk about me. I don't want the smoke.
- 12:27Speaker 2: All right, We're going through a healing process, dude. She
- 12:33Speaker 2: looks at me. She just did you throw out the butter?
- 12:36Speaker 2: This looks new? Did you throw out the butter with
- 12:37Speaker 2: the corn on the cob?
- 12:38Speaker 1: And I go, yeah, yes, it had corn and weird
- 12:43Speaker 1: on it.
- 12:44Speaker 2: Well, we're having corn on the cob again, so I
- 12:45Speaker 2: was just going to use the butter.
- 12:48Speaker 1: Oh my god, I'm surprised she didn't say.
- 12:50Speaker 2: Hey, my knife, what you.
- 12:53Speaker 3: Need and maneuver it around the cob. Do not take
- 12:57Speaker 3: the whole cob and place it on the butter.
- 13:00Speaker 2: I feel like you should know this at sixty four.
- 13:03Speaker 4: If we were having corn on the cob for you know,
- 13:06Speaker 4: three times a day, every day, then yeah, we can
- 13:08Speaker 4: have a butter station from the cob.
- 13:11Speaker 2: Oh my jeez.
- 13:12Speaker 4: But when we have corn on the cob once every year,
- 13:16Speaker 4: we don't need to save the butter.
- 13:19Speaker 1: Shit.
- 13:20Speaker 4: I saw the butter too, and I was like, I'm
- 13:21Speaker 4: gonna make toast. I saw that butter and I said,
- 13:22Speaker 4: I'm not making toast, and in.
- 13:24Speaker 3: True fashion, in true Lisa fashion, Easton decided to do nothing.
- 13:29Speaker 2: Leave it for someone else.
- 13:31Speaker 3: You're fucking kidding me. You saw it that way and thought, oh,
- 13:34Speaker 3: I'm just not gonna do anything.
- 13:36Speaker 2: How dare you.
- 13:39Speaker 1: Stop my house?
- 13:40Speaker 3: When someone asks when someone asks me, pure, what have
- 13:43Speaker 3: you been up to? How do I feel like I've
- 13:45Speaker 3: been up to nothing? But I'm utterly exhausted. Every day,
- 13:49Speaker 3: I don't have a minute.
- 13:50Speaker 2: What have I been up to?
- 13:51Speaker 3: Cleaning shit, cleaning a corn on the cob, butter, teaching
- 13:55Speaker 3: people that are grown to not use the same night.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Bing shut. All right, so maybe we need to play
- 14:03Speaker 1: Miss Rachel for.
- 14:04Speaker 2: Mom Ella Myers.
- 14:05Speaker 3: You would think she would sit down and just watch
- 14:07Speaker 3: it when I ask her to watch Sosa.
- 14:08Speaker 2: By the way, where are you when Sosa? Why are
- 14:11Speaker 2: you not consuming Miss Rachel?
- 14:12Speaker 3: If you're not there watching Sosa, I'm s are you
- 14:17Speaker 3: just camping her in front of is Miss Rachel watch just.
- 14:20Speaker 1: Because she got a dragger? Again? Sorry? Lisa, you really
- 14:25Speaker 1: are a beautiful.
- 14:27Speaker 2: Soul, beautiful human.
- 14:28Speaker 4: When you leave, yeah, right, when you walk out that door,
- 14:33Speaker 4: you think that Jeej is with her?
- 14:35Speaker 1: Nah, I get that phone call. I need help?
- 14:38Speaker 4: All right, I come over and it is can you
- 14:42Speaker 4: watch her for five minutes while I do this?
- 14:45Speaker 1: Five ten thirty an hour? Are you done? No? She's
- 14:51Speaker 1: yapping away. It's like, okay, so I'm rotch it. Yeah yeah.
- 14:54Speaker 1: So it's like she just leaves and then she has
- 14:56Speaker 1: the audacity to go I've.
- 14:57Speaker 4: Been watching the baby all day and it's like fuck.
- 15:01Speaker 1: When I had her. She was even over at my house.
- 15:05Speaker 3: Ella Meyers thirty two. I know I'm turning into my
- 15:07Speaker 3: mom when I never think anything is clean enough. Mate,
- 15:11Speaker 3: she's just there with chlorox wipes removing the finish off
- 15:15Speaker 3: of every surface.
- 15:18Speaker 2: Sounds like maybe you should call somebody.
- 15:21Speaker 4: Like she's like cleaning the marble. She's like, is that
- 15:23Speaker 4: the marble? Or there's not a fucking thing you need?
- 15:27Speaker 4: All one colored countertop.
- 15:30Speaker 2: By the way, I love how clean she is.
- 15:32Speaker 3: I could go and just eat off of this woman's floor,
- 15:34Speaker 3: and I like that because the amount of food that
- 15:36Speaker 3: is dropped on the floor that goes to waste and
- 15:38Speaker 3: the state of the world.
- 15:39Speaker 2: I don't like when food goes to waste.
- 15:42Speaker 4: I do like having dogs because if I do drop something,
- 15:44Speaker 4: I'm like, all right, come here you a little living
- 15:47Speaker 4: vacuum hoover. That's gonna be my next dog's name, a
- 15:52Speaker 4: big fat piple named Hoover.
- 15:56Speaker 3: Oh why did I get stung by a fucking wasp?
- 15:59Speaker 2: After here? Your podcast about what if she radioactive? Has
- 16:05Speaker 2: nothing to do with what we're talking about, But now it.
- 16:07Speaker 1: Has to be said, we need to keep tabs. Is
- 16:10Speaker 1: she has to be active? Did you get stung.
- 16:15Speaker 2: Well, let's count that was the last week.
- 16:17Speaker 3: I would think if she got stung right after listening
- 16:20Speaker 3: to it, if she listened to it on time, she
- 16:22Speaker 3: wouldn't be able to write this message to me today.
- 16:25Speaker 2: So I like to think she's in the clear.
- 16:26Speaker 1: Oh, or she's in the hospital. Lays the up, typing
- 16:29Speaker 1: oh no.
- 16:30Speaker 3: True Blue True Blue fan Aaron underscore, Sorenson underscore. My
- 16:36Speaker 3: mom had a terrifying mad voice, which now when I
- 16:39Speaker 3: am mad at my kids, I hear her.
- 16:43Speaker 1: No, I bet that is just a trip.
- 16:47Speaker 3: Because I have to play mom and also dad at
- 16:51Speaker 3: our house. I sometimes get that look like when Gigi's
- 16:54Speaker 3: kind of like disciplining Ocean and I hear Ocean kind
- 16:57Speaker 3: of talk back. I have to tap been too dad mode,
- 17:03Speaker 3: and I get my eyes big like that, you know how, Dad,
- 17:09Speaker 3: you should do it?
- 17:11Speaker 2: Yes, I have to do that. Yeah.
- 17:13Speaker 1: You wouldn't even say anything, You just look at me
- 17:15Speaker 1: like that.
- 17:17Speaker 4: Yeah, and I would just wat, I'd lease a shuffle
- 17:21Speaker 4: on over, don't hurt me.
- 17:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I have to do that. That's how I know
- 17:25Speaker 2: that I'm Dad.
- 17:26Speaker 4: Yeah, and you just disciplined me in like the softest voice,
- 17:29Speaker 4: But like, why.
- 17:32Speaker 1: Do it again? Do it again, and I promise you
- 17:34Speaker 1: it's going to be a lot worse than right now.
- 17:36Speaker 1: Oh god, let's not have that. Won't do it again?
- 17:41Speaker 1: So good?
- 17:42Speaker 2: Uh, lindsay cecil one.
- 17:44Speaker 3: I knew I became my mother when I told my
- 17:47Speaker 3: child what you want and what you get.
- 17:49Speaker 2: Are two different things. That's kind of a common one.
- 17:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:56Speaker 3: It's kind of like dinner, you know, like after I've
- 17:59Speaker 3: been over the stovetop making a fantastic meal for my daughter,
- 18:06Speaker 3: you know, maybe a little top ramen that I drained
- 18:10Speaker 3: and I put into a frying pan with some veggies,
- 18:15Speaker 3: and then she tells me I don't want that. By d'atthew,
- 18:21Speaker 3: I asked if you were hungry, and this is what
- 18:23Speaker 3: you're getting, let me tell.
- 18:25Speaker 1: You I'm back. I don't want that. There are children
- 18:29Speaker 1: starving all over the world. You eat it. Argue with that.
- 18:35Speaker 3: Can I tell you what made me really happy? On
- 18:36Speaker 3: Instagram the other day? Apparently gentle parenting is making its
- 18:42Speaker 3: way out and f a FO is working its way in,
- 18:49Speaker 3: which is fuck around and find out parenting parenting style
- 18:53Speaker 3: I can get behind.
- 18:54Speaker 2: It was this woman who.
- 18:57Speaker 3: She had tried the gentle parenting, She had tried the
- 19:00Speaker 3: not gentle parenting, whatever parenting styles were trending. She had
- 19:04Speaker 3: tried with her tween to just shy of a teenager
- 19:09Speaker 3: and they were camping and he was spraying her over
- 19:12Speaker 3: and over again with a squirt gun, and she repeatedly
- 19:16Speaker 3: asked him to stop.
- 19:17Speaker 2: He then continues.
- 19:19Speaker 3: She said, if you don't stop, there's going to be
- 19:21Speaker 3: a repercussion.
- 19:25Speaker 2: Told him to stop. He didn't. Second chances.
- 19:28Speaker 3: I'm telling you to stop, and I'm letting you know
- 19:30Speaker 3: if you continue, there's a repercussion.
- 19:33Speaker 2: He did it a third.
- 19:34Speaker 3: Time, so the mother stood up, picked him up, fully clothed,
- 19:39Speaker 3: and threw him into the lake.
- 19:41Speaker 1: Love it.
- 19:43Speaker 2: He stopped spraying her after that.
- 19:44Speaker 1: Yeah, I guarantee you did.
- 19:45Speaker 4: And guess what next time anything happens, that's going to replay.
- 19:49Speaker 4: And if she says please stop, we know what happens.
- 19:53Speaker 4: He is going to stop.
- 19:55Speaker 1: Right.
- 19:55Speaker 3: So this goes back to I don't know if some
- 19:57Speaker 3: people I just I will ask ocean, are you hungry? Yes,
- 20:02Speaker 3: I'm hungry. Okay, here are your options. So she feels
- 20:06Speaker 3: like she has a choice. I'm not being like I'm
- 20:09Speaker 3: not sitting here being like eat this or you'll starve.
- 20:11Speaker 3: I'm gonna give you three options of what I have
- 20:14Speaker 3: in my fridge that I am already making, or there's
- 20:17Speaker 3: two other options.
- 20:18Speaker 4: Well I heard that's the best way to parent is
- 20:20Speaker 4: give them three options or two options.
- 20:23Speaker 3: Make them feel like they made the choice. Yes, that's all.
- 20:26Speaker 3: And I tell you what I learned you guys the
- 20:27Speaker 3: other day. So Ocean does not like vegetables. She just
- 20:30Speaker 3: like suddenly stopped wanting vegetables. So the other day I
- 20:35Speaker 3: was making her broccoli, cauliflower.
- 20:39Speaker 2: And carrots to go along with her meal.
- 20:42Speaker 3: And instead of me just like doing it for her,
- 20:45Speaker 3: I would cut everything up and have her put it
- 20:49Speaker 3: in the pan. And then she's the one that put
- 20:51Speaker 3: the olive oil in and then she and it made
- 20:54Speaker 3: her feel like she made what she's eating, and she
- 20:58Speaker 3: ate all of it.
- 20:59Speaker 4: I I found another thing that works well with kids eating,
- 21:03Speaker 4: even young like.
- 21:05Speaker 1: Baby baby, even you.
- 21:07Speaker 4: Know, anywhere from like nine months to three four video
- 21:12Speaker 4: them them like eating because they like to see them eating.
- 21:17Speaker 4: Oh so that was another.
- 21:19Speaker 2: Okay, I like that. I have plenty of videos of
- 21:21Speaker 2: Ocean eating.
- 21:22Speaker 3: That's like the one time that you can get your
- 21:24Speaker 3: child to sit there and let you get a picture.
- 21:26Speaker 1: Yeah, if you just start filming them while they're eating.
- 21:28Speaker 1: They'll just start eating because they like to. Like it's
- 21:31Speaker 1: like a thing. Oh wow, Easton, I know. I saw
- 21:34Speaker 1: it on a TikTok Alison Koh.
- 21:37Speaker 2: Eight multiple cups on the coffee table. I don't have that. No,
- 21:41Speaker 2: that's mom mom only if really it was.
- 21:44Speaker 4: Because now that she has stopped drinking coffee, there are
- 21:47Speaker 4: zero coffee cups around.
- 21:48Speaker 1: And think how many there were at all times.
- 21:50Speaker 4: I was like, where are all these coffee cups? We
- 21:51Speaker 4: have three people in this home. They're six out, Yeah,
- 21:55Speaker 4: Lisa had five.
- 21:57Speaker 3: No for real though, And what she likes to do
- 21:59Speaker 3: is put it in to the microwave to heat it
- 22:01Speaker 3: up and then forget it and then forget about it.
- 22:03Speaker 3: So you constantly just have cold coffee with a ring
- 22:07Speaker 3: around it sitting in the microwave.
- 22:09Speaker 4: My I'm glad that the microwave that we have now,
- 22:11Speaker 4: like you look down into it. Yeah, because back at
- 22:15Speaker 4: home it was like at our shins for whatever reason,
- 22:20Speaker 4: and so like I couldn't see in, but I would
- 22:22Speaker 4: just slide my plate. I can't tell you how many
- 22:24Speaker 4: meals I had ruined because of this bitch.
- 22:28Speaker 2: Oh my god, Easton is out to.
- 22:29Speaker 4: Get No, I would she would heat her coffee. She
- 22:33Speaker 4: wouldn't even be home, and I would just like, put
- 22:35Speaker 4: my food in, hit the cup. Look at my food,
- 22:38Speaker 4: tea coffee, just all over in it now, And then
- 22:41Speaker 4: I can't heat that out.
- 22:43Speaker 2: Oh my god, I'm sorry, Easton.
- 22:46Speaker 1: It's okay. I love her.
- 22:48Speaker 4: I'm her so I can't wait to start leaving cups
- 22:51Speaker 4: in the fucking microwave.
- 22:52Speaker 2: Listen to this one. I love this person.
- 22:54Speaker 3: V Diddy forty one.
- 23:00Speaker 2: That name, for sure came before all the stuff I
- 23:03Speaker 2: have to assume.
- 23:04Speaker 3: Yeah, uh, she said, fuck talking to cashiers about my
- 23:08Speaker 3: grocery purchases.
- 23:10Speaker 2: Oh, I know that feeling. I do the same thing.
- 23:13Speaker 2: And then I start talking about the nice weather.
- 23:16Speaker 4: Oh my gosh, that is me great weather we're having here,
- 23:20Speaker 4: elevator chats.
- 23:21Speaker 1: I'm like just shutting out.
- 23:22Speaker 3: The valley is unseasonably less hot, Isn't that strange? We've
- 23:26Speaker 3: had beautiful days, nice, nice breeze, And I'm like, why
- 23:30Speaker 3: am I talking about the weather.
- 23:31Speaker 1: This is I could save all of these words.
- 23:34Speaker 2: Literally, why is this coming out of my mouth?
- 23:38Speaker 3: It's not really the age that scares me getting older,
- 23:41Speaker 3: it's what comes with the age, right.
- 23:43Speaker 1: The croaking jet and well no, your whole body.
- 23:47Speaker 2: No, But like.
- 23:47Speaker 3: Things that you just start doing where you're like, like
- 23:50Speaker 3: I'll get out of bed and be like, oh my back.
- 23:53Speaker 4: Yep, clanking my back, my back. I wake up and
- 23:57Speaker 4: I'm like, why is my neck funny?
- 24:00Speaker 1: Oh? I slept with an extra pillow somehow?
- 24:02Speaker 3: Talking about old weather, the things where it's like, where
- 24:04Speaker 3: did this come from? Oh, it's just getting older. That's
- 24:08Speaker 3: just what you do. You talk about the fucking weather.
- 24:10Speaker 1: Well, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 24:13Speaker 2: Layer fifteen eighty six. Because I said so. My mom
- 24:16Speaker 2: used to say that growing up, and now I do
- 24:17Speaker 2: it to my daughter. I get that. We talked about
- 24:19Speaker 2: that because I said so, Just fucking do it. You
- 24:23Speaker 2: know why they why? Parents say because I said so.
- 24:26Speaker 2: Because we're exhausted, we're done explaining for the day.
- 24:29Speaker 1: Well just kids can ask why on every question? Why? Well,
- 24:34Speaker 1: because of da da da? Why fuck dude?
- 24:37Speaker 3: You know what though, at the end of the day,
- 24:39Speaker 3: when the day's over, right, I will tell Ocean and
- 24:42Speaker 3: I have no problem, And I don't care if anyone
- 24:43Speaker 3: judges me.
- 24:44Speaker 2: I go like this, I go Ocean.
- 24:47Speaker 3: Mommy's tapped out for the day, all right, Mommy tapped out,
- 24:50Speaker 3: I love you so much.
- 24:51Speaker 2: I love you. It is time for bed. I'm done.
- 24:53Speaker 3: I'm done for the day. Mommy's done, and she will
- 24:56Speaker 3: literally say okay.
- 24:57Speaker 1: Mom, yeah, and then she just lays in bed. Yeah,
- 25:01Speaker 1: out she is done.
- 25:02Speaker 3: That angel h J Condy six to six. I nag
- 25:08Speaker 3: comes with age, the nagging. I think if I had
- 25:11Speaker 3: someone to nag, I would so far just Lisa nags.
- 25:13Speaker 2: Me in Easton.
- 25:14Speaker 3: Yeah, it's Nina's I spend like a drunken sailor whilst
- 25:19Speaker 3: judging my mom for doing the same.
- 25:22Speaker 1: That's what's so sad. It's like me talking about mom,
- 25:25Speaker 1: like that's the thing. I'm like, not going at Lisa.
- 25:28Speaker 4: I'm going at what I know I'm going to start
- 25:31Speaker 4: doing well.
- 25:31Speaker 3: You are one of those people where you're like, I
- 25:33Speaker 3: think I might take this back. I'm like, no, no, no,
- 25:35Speaker 3: I cannot have two people in the house that like
- 25:37Speaker 3: to buy and take back.
- 25:39Speaker 2: Let's let's take more time before we buy. Let's look,
- 25:43Speaker 2: let's decide.
- 25:44Speaker 3: What's good about having someone who likes taking things back
- 25:47Speaker 3: is you can just buy and be like, oh my
- 25:49Speaker 3: mom loves to take things back, So.
- 25:50Speaker 2: I but I'm going But then we have to try, Lisa,
- 25:53Speaker 2: then we have to drive.
- 25:54Speaker 1: Because all right, oh I love that Jim.
- 25:58Speaker 3: Too, Brandy Mayor or Mari it's m a r e.
- 26:04Speaker 3: My mom's a hugger. Complete Strangers used to weird me out.
- 26:09Speaker 2: Now I go in for hugs too.
- 26:10Speaker 1: I'm a hugger too, though.
- 26:11Speaker 3: I love ada ask someone before, though, because now I
- 26:15Speaker 3: ask now, because some people ever since COVID, like you
- 26:18Speaker 3: could go into shake and people will be like, I
- 26:20Speaker 3: don't shake hands, and it's like, oh well, if you
- 26:21Speaker 3: don't shake hands, you for sure don't want me.
- 26:23Speaker 1: To hug you.
- 26:23Speaker 3: So now, like if someone approaches me and they're like
- 26:27Speaker 3: I listened to the podcast, or they like, tell me
- 26:29Speaker 3: you help me get sober, I always say, can I
- 26:31Speaker 3: hug you? Because obviously my friends, I'm a hugger. The
- 26:34Speaker 3: moment they arrive, when they leave, hug kiss, kiss.
- 26:37Speaker 1: I'm gonna start asking.
- 26:39Speaker 4: I guess because when we were at Disneyland yesterday, somebody
- 26:42Speaker 4: came up and noticed me.
- 26:43Speaker 1: When you guys were at.
- 26:44Speaker 2: The you don't even know.
- 26:47Speaker 1: Me, beautiful bell, oh bag. But now she came up
- 26:55Speaker 1: and she was like, are you Eastern?
- 26:56Speaker 4: I said I am, and she was like I love
- 26:58Speaker 4: the pod and I got up and I didn't even
- 27:00Speaker 4: I was just like, oh my gosh, I'm giving you
- 27:01Speaker 4: a hug.
- 27:02Speaker 2: That's really cute. I'm glad that you did.
- 27:04Speaker 1: We got a little photo too, did you.
- 27:07Speaker 4: Oh?
- 27:07Speaker 2: I wonder if she'll tag you.
- 27:09Speaker 4: But that's but for you to take a photo like
- 27:11Speaker 4: that makes sense for somebody. For me, they're gonna be
- 27:13Speaker 4: like if they show anybody, they're gonna be like, who
- 27:16Speaker 4: the fuck is this kid?
- 27:19Speaker 1: Right? Like he's nowhere.
- 27:21Speaker 4: I listened to the podcast that his sister has that
- 27:23Speaker 4: he's on Cool you know, like, what is that doing?
- 27:28Speaker 3: Breezy Lead ninety two telling someone a story slash something
- 27:32Speaker 3: I've already told them multiple times?
- 27:35Speaker 1: Guess what we call that? What I forgot?
- 27:38Speaker 4: A carousel is the thing that just goes round and round. Oh,
- 27:42Speaker 4: Mary go round, Mary go round?
- 27:44Speaker 1: Wow?
- 27:45Speaker 2: My thing.
- 27:45Speaker 3: When I'm telling a story, I always say stop me
- 27:48Speaker 3: if I've already told you this, because it's annoying when
- 27:50Speaker 3: someone tells me the same story twice, so like I'm
- 27:52Speaker 3: not offended, and then I'll start telling you and if
- 27:54Speaker 3: they say like, oh, yeah, you did tell me, I'm like, okay, Yeah.
- 27:56Speaker 1: My biggest pet peeve is my friends.
- 27:58Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, And then and it's like like when I'm like, yeah,
- 28:04Speaker 3: have I told yeah, I've heard it, and I'll be like,
- 28:06Speaker 3: oh all right, and they're like yeah, and they like
- 28:07Speaker 3: get away from it, and then shoes on the other.
- 28:10Speaker 1: Foot, did I tell yeah you did? Oh? Yeah, it
- 28:13Speaker 1: was so funny. No, I heard it. Quit fucking talking,
- 28:15Speaker 1: That's what I'm telling you. You told me, don't go.
- 28:18Speaker 2: On, don't go on. I don't need to hear it.
- 28:21Speaker 2: I don't need to hear it.
- 28:24Speaker 3: But I'm usually the one going on too very quickly
- 28:27Speaker 3: because I like this Ella Meyer's thirty two. I know
- 28:29Speaker 3: I'm turning into my dad when I can no longer
- 28:32Speaker 3: tell short stories.
- 28:36Speaker 1: Oh ye, old.
- 28:37Speaker 3: Long stories enough to make me want to crawl out
- 28:39Speaker 3: of my own skin. But here's the thing, because unless
- 28:43Speaker 3: you're a great storyteller, if you have to make the storyteller.
- 28:46Speaker 4: But then get what are we doing at dinner if
- 28:49Speaker 4: we're not going to have a long story?
- 28:51Speaker 1: Like what if I tell you a story that happens if.
- 28:53Speaker 3: Someone No, if someone's telling a story, it's called conversation,
- 28:57Speaker 3: going back and forth.
- 28:58Speaker 2: I don't need to hear.
- 29:00Speaker 3: Yesterday, I was wearing peak pants, yellow top.
- 29:03Speaker 2: Wait a minute, I got them this, and I actually
- 29:06Speaker 2: got them Azar. I was like, no, no, no, stick to this,
- 29:08Speaker 2: to the topic, I know.
- 29:09Speaker 4: And then they start going off on Zar and how
- 29:11Speaker 4: like the change was different, and You're like, were we
- 29:13Speaker 4: talking about this or Zar?
- 29:14Speaker 2: I know, I'm like, get back on topic. I cannot.
- 29:16Speaker 3: Anyway, moving on you guys, thank you for listening to
- 29:19Speaker 3: a bonus episode of the Give Them Alla podcast.
- 29:21Speaker 2: I hope that we all go out there and try
- 29:23Speaker 2: to not be our parents, but I think it's inevitable.
- 29:27Speaker 2: Love you guys. We'll catch you on the regular episode
- 29:29Speaker 2: on Wednesday. I
